the teacher is nice, the exams are easy if you will be a good student there won't need to take final exam
coolest teacher ever
VERY HELPFUL. VERY CLEAR. I just didn't understand College Algebra, I'd understand it in class BUT test time, I would bomb. I eventually withdrew from the class, but it wasn't because of him. He's a great teacher, and is always willing to help.
Dr, Orock is a cool professor.. He is very industrious. He always jokes around so that we wont be bored. He gives tons of homework.. hahaha..
I always thought I didn't learn algebra because I had bad teachers. Then I had Dr. Orock... turns out it's just me. He is an excellent teacher, very clear, very helpful. I just suck.
Professor was great and knew what he was doing. He tought the material. For those struggling in math I would seriously say to take this professor he will help you out greatly.
He tries to make Algebra fun, but that is nearly an impossible task. He is a very helpful and smart man.
I took him for Pre-Calculus. I really didn't understand him, and he kept saying he was always tired and stopped class early. Bad professor. Steer clear if your going to take Pre-Calculus.

If you sign up with this proffessor then you're out of luck. I took precal with him and found that he was the worst math worst eacher i've ever had. He hardly came to class on time. Most of the times he was half hour late. Didn't cover much stuff. He makes tastes easy so students could pass but students face difficulties when they advance to next l
A nice guy, but does not make difficult concepts clear... Does not spend much time on concepts at all. He needs to slow down and give more individual attention... Other than that I can say he is fair, and is rather forgiving with his grading. Calculus requires a lot of work and extracurricular study.

horrible if you want to learn calculus you should find a better teacher take rakki. Professor O rock is smart but there isn't any teaching its all up too you if its a person that needs to learn calculus
Really nice guy if he knows you know the work he will pass you but if you struggle you may have a hard time dealing with him he is rarely available and you need to pay close attention to class
He teaches calculus 2... great teacher very easy... just have to review from the book and take good notes he is not that bad very humble person and very intellectual in his effort of teaching...
Professor Orock is not a good professor he is a very lazy teacher. If you are going to take calc 1 and 2 with this professor then your out of luck. Orock is a person that has no way teaching a student he wants his students to fail the course so that he can feel glad that he is dominant.

Take him only for undergrad courses like college algebra or pre calc don't take him if he is teaching Calculus or differential equations the professor will not explain the material really well if its someone thats weak in math dont take him he will not make you better in math but make you dumb.......

horrible professor u might spend the rest of your time in the tutoring center and tries not to make things simple for the students always trying to manipulate people from understanding the concept and continues to lecture and not teach the class the way it suppose to be we are the ones who pay our fees and this is the way we get treated horrible
horrible professor goes according to what he has in his notes but similar to the book but has misunderstanding in how he prepares his test and he teaches one topic in class then there would be a different topic that wasn't thought in class, and that would be on the test horrible he just wants his students to just fail

He is really like and you should be willing to learn he is teaching like college teachers will in 4 year college.
I had him in Summer I. You have to practice EVERYTHING, but if you read in advance you'll do great with him... it's just he is the kind of teacher who goes reaaaaaly fast. Beware to read the chapter he is going to "teach" before hand and you'll understand his methodology (I got an A) plus the textbook we used came with a video (very very helpful)
If you like to dance with one of the math'angels, he is ur professor,but if u dont read, understand, practice, and practice(in book and hand-out)u will definitely find yourself having dinner with evil.You will fail.Do excel in the 1st 3 test and answer 28 out of 40 in final exam and youl pass.If not,He may give u other chance to pass it,talkto him.
Dr.Orock was my first college professor and he was amazing. Have nothing bad to say about his class. Very helpful and I would recomend this professor to anybody
i really like and appreciate Dr Ferdinand he is very welcoming like to solve academical problems he teaches well in class.read practice attend his classes and grab an A with a left hand.he always see in to those who failed problems gives make up tests.in fact he is the best
he is a very good professor listen to students problems and try to see how he might be of help academically he is very punctual teaches well explains concepts with ease and makes sure that even those who are slow understands
The subject was difficult for me and the professor was fair. He did make himself available if you needed extra help. I thought he was a very good teacher.
He is a very funny professor takes his time with class. He will answer each one of your answers.
Dr. Orock is a great teacher. Took college algebra with him in the winter session and it was fun and great. I hadn't taken math in 20 years and I got an A. Take him if you want to learn the subject and do well in the class.
I love this professor!!!! He made me completely understand the material and answered all questions and showed you how to prove your work which I found priceless! If you want to learn algebra he is the professor you want!
i absolutely love professor Orock !! he's the best math professor i have ever had..i hated math before and because of his clarity and my determination I'm about to take pre-cal !!! who knew i would be here lol...he's the best take him !!
sometimes its hard to understand with his accent. i found him to be really easy however sometimes his exams are really tricky…BUT he's always there to help.
He's an awesome professor who is extremely helpful and willing to teach you just as long as you show your dedication and interest. Loved him this summer.
Dr.Orock is a great Professor. He does have an accent but in no way was it hard to understand him, people on here are dramatic. I hate math becuse I have always struggled with it. I took his basic algebra in the summer and helped me so much. I did have to go to tutoring and work hard but I passed my exit exam in the end. Great Professor if u try!
Worst Professor of HCCC. Does not care one bit for the education system or his students. Was absent 3 times in the semester! Played catch up because of it. Did not have time to go back to lessons the classed did not grasp. Did not fail to be late everyday of the entire semester 15 min late to be exact and class ended 30 min early. List goes on ..
Teaches really fast. Must have basic knowledge of the subject or you'll be lost always last to class and leave during class many times

Dr. O's very demanding & challenging but he's also willing to help. I would definitely take a class he teaches again. If you can talk to him & get to know him, he's a really good guy & very smart. He's one the best professors I've had in HCCC.
Prof Orock is a great teacher. Algebra is not my most favorite subject but he makes it as easy as he can. His teaching is pretty straight forward. I just wish I was able to get the steps down in my head like he has them in his head. He goes kind of fast but if you take notes and write quickly, you will have enough to pass the class.
He's not a very engaging professor
Unless you're a whiz kid at math, I do not recommend this professor at all. You can tell he can't care less about teaching. He's late for class, leaves for long periods of time. He goes over the exercises from the book really fast. He's disrespectful sometimes. If I got an A- in this class was because I studied the book on my own.

doctor orock is awesome and hilarious. he goes a million miles a minute but if sit in front and follow what hes writing on the board you will be fine. just make sure you take lots of notes in his class, his tests are a breeze study the practice packets he gives. hes nice and if you need help hell reexplain until you get it. you should take him!
No doubt, he's a nice guy and has a sense of humor. BUT he skims through the material and I know for a fact, that my class had no idea what we were learning. He knows a lot about it and is very smart but he also expects everyone to instantly get it. Being a math lover, this class decreased my interest in Math.
He doesn't support students who ask for help. Don't take class with him.
Very tough teacher!
The only way you can achieve in this class is if you take extensive notes. If you take the summer course with him he goes very slow and if you ask him a question you're more confused than before. I suggest you read the textbook, review, and watch videos every night if you want to get at least a B in this class. At least the final is take home.
Professor Orock is a good teacher, however, he does expect you to understand the material. Some of the things he says are not that funny and may come across rude if you do not have a sense of humor. All in all, a pretty good professor and would take him again.

Professor Orock is a great person not so good of a professor. He goes really fast, basically writes as if hes solving the problem to himself. He gives you examples to do then leaves for a long period of time. he comes back he dismisses the class & NEVER goes over the examples he just gave, unless you go up to him and ask him to show you;just bad.

If you have a sense of humor, you'll find him hilarious. Tests aren't easy but aren't tough, besides he's an easy grader. I would take him again in a heartbeat. Textbook is needed To follow along with lecture but he writes the question on the board so not mandatory. No hw. 4 tests. Last test is take home. Drops lowest grade.

Great professor who really understands the material. It can be difficult to keep up with him so be sure to pay attention and ask questions. 3 tests plus a take home final.
Professor Orock is a great Professor. When I asked about him, people said he was not that good, but when I took him I understood the criteria alot. He goes out of his way to help a student and knows when a student is havig trouble. He will help them and make it clear. His test aren't hard but not easy. Only con is he writes fast but good professor
Excellent professor. If your objective is to learn, then take him. He will make sure you understand the lesson if you ask him to explain it again. He will even make time to teach you how to use the graphing calculator (which I find still difficult). Test aren't too difficult.

He is not from American I think. He challenged me to think and THAT got me an A . Why? because I started to figure out things I was doing automatically (wrong) - I learned stuff I should have learnt in primary school , really. BASIC, STRONG good foundation for any math or any science major. Just PRACTICE, boot camp style. The book and its CD helped

All he does is copy off the text, and talk, assuming that you understand. We only accomplished 3/5 chapters in the entire semester and the entire class is lost. Please someone need to set him straight.
Probably the worst professor I ever had. He's a nice guy but a HORRIBLE professor. He did not teach well at all, comes late and just copies from the textbook. For all the tests, I've had to study all on my own. Basically teaching myself PreCalculus and I still ended up not receiving the grade I wished for. Do not take him.
Coolest teacher ever. Hand in your assignments weekly and 4 exams. He preps for the exams.
He's a funny guy and an easy grader. If you want to learn I wouldn't recommend taking his class. Everything is from the book and he solves the problems to himself without explaining in detail. VERY EASY GRADER! If you take his class you'll see what I mean. His comedy is hilarious but his teaching style will make you cry
I love him! I don't get why so many people have negative things to say about him. ( that's my opinion) he cares about his students and wants everyone to pass! I had him for college algebra. He has an amazing sense of humor. He's my go to professor I can trust him with personal stuff,he helps students inside and outside the classroom! Love him!

Took Precalc over summer. Spent the 6 weeks of class stressing like crazy thinking I wasn't gonna pass. of 2 classes I took in the summer I spent 90% of my time working and studying for this one. At LAST min he announced our final exam was gonna be a take home. Worked out fine in the end but the stress wasn't worth it, wish I had another prof.

Dr. Orock is a good professor and he is a very busy person. Professor Orock taught us how to do excel and when I was following him he taught to fast.
Prof. Orock is great. Hes funny and flexible. He tends to go fast on the material, but he will explain a subject until you understand it. Tests are fairly easy as long as you do the homework. Come prepared to class otherwise you might get lost in class and fall behind. Anyone can learn Math if you put your mind into it.
This professor is very good and easy. Therefore, as long as you attend class, finish his assignments, and study from his review sheets you will pass the class. He arrives late all the time, but is willing to help. Also, make sure you have the textbook.
The greatest teacher ever
Dr. Orock is a good professor, but he tends to go through the lesson very quick, especially in the summer. It's hard trying to catch up in his class for a tough subject like calculus. Though, if you review before coming to class, you'll have a better understanding, and it would be a great advantage because he goes step by step for every problem.
I loved him. he's a great professor and his exams are very easy. he's so funny and he'll explain everything. sometimes he'll go over things a little faster than u expect him to but it's fine to ask him to repeat. he's a fair grader and he'll encourage u all the time.

He only reads and does problems already some in the book. If you want to learn it, he is not the professor to learn from. While he teaches the simplest part of calc 2, his test are exponentially harder. If you skip a step or do not simplify he will take points off. Would have never taken him in the first place unless had to.
I took his pre calculus class in the summer, and he was by far the worst professors I have ever taken. Just because someone knows math doesn't mean they know how to teach it. he spends his time completing problems from the text book without actually explaining how to do them. If this is your first time taking a math class in a while, DONT TAKE HIM.
