She is very energetic and passionate about art. Everyday she taught with a smile on her face and her excitement and passion for art made me appreciate her. Lectures may put u to sleep b/c it's in the dark, but I had her for art 1 and 2 take her class!
Her class was pretty interesting and not that hard.
A very good teacher. She's really energetic and interesting. I plan to take her again for art history. i recommend her to anyone, even people who don't even like art.

I think that she is the best looking teacher I have ever had.
HOTT!!!!
she's a wonderful teacher and VERY VERY energetic, like she just had 50 cups of coffee, haha, which makes the class interesting. her writing assignments aren't very hard but make sure to do those museum projects in order to get a good grade in the class. take her.
Energetic, interesting, Fair. Do all work! And be prepared for midterm and final. Take notes. You'll get an A.
MCUH BETTER THAN McDONALD!!! I took her and I hate art therefore I hated the class and still got a B thats pretty good.
She's by far the nicest teacher i've had. Really helpful and understanding. Let's you skip the tests if you're not ready. I don't recommend doing this, since she adds it to the next test which could become a little hard to study for, however i still recommend her wholeheartedly. I don't think there's a more enthusiastic teacher at solano.
Awesome teacher, one of the best I've ever had. Made the class funny, interesting, and entertaining. I was just trying to fulfill a requirement but now Art interests me. Pretty easy class. She's a very fair grader. Pay attention and put a reasonable amount of effort into the assignments and you're bound to get an Easy A.
I cant not imagine a more boring subject than art history, but some how Mrs Florence makes it interesting. Never have I had such an enthusiastic teacher. She is also pretty cute, which can help to hold one's attention.
Professor Florence is great art teacher! She is very energetic and happy to teach her students. The exams were straight forward and easy. Just go to class everyday and take notes. I took her Art 10 class last fall and enjoyed it! Thank you Professor Florence.
I had such a fun time taking her class this year. Ferdinanda's a great teacher; she grades fair, she helps students with notes and whatever else she can, and most of all, she makes a topic like art history seem interesting. If you're looking for a non-stressful class that's engaging, take her. Oh yeah, do all the work. It's worth it.
you have to memorize like 50 paintings for each of the 3 exams. there are 3 papers and one final paper which is kind of hard, but tolerable. she is very nice though. fun class that requires work
I LOVED her! She is funny, energetic, and has great pictures and stories. Her class was very interactive which made it interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned so much. i would definitely recommend her to anyone! took her for art history (couldn't remember the right class number).
I took Art History, didn't buy the book ($100 or more) and still got an A. She is very easy, all the tests are just memorization. You do have to write some papers, but very simple ones. Very sweet teacher, wants you to succeed, even let me take the final at a different day.
She will never come to class in a bad mood. her positive energy radiates and makes the class interested. Never boring!
She is very energetic and clearly loves what she is doing. I never saw her in a poor mood. She does everything she can to help students out, which includes make-up exams and turning papers in late.
WONDERFUL PROFESSOR! Art History is like history... it takes a SPECIAL teacher to make it interesting! The other comments are 100% accurate, she had high energy and is VERY helpful! You do not need the book! She does take attendance so you should go to class! The tests are somewhat hard but the papers required even it out if you are a poor test tak
Her class was amazing! I took her art appreciation class just to fill in a requirement for my AA... but she really made me interested in Art after her class... she was probably by favorite class all semester! She is a pretty funny person and as long as you do the weekly assignment in her class! youll do great!
Perfect teacher for in-depth thinking. My eyes opened up to art because of her. She describes her lectures with passion. Reading responses, Projects and Tests are going to be easy, however, think critically and provide an honest answer to everything because her Projects are about your opinion as a person who appreciates art. Take her for Art12 :)
Professor Florence is amazing! Her lectures are clear and she posts them online to help the students. She is always willing to help her students in office hours and she never has a bad attitude. I highly recommend her for any art class.
She is very enthusiastic and you can tell she really loves her subject, which made her students love it too.
Professor Florence is a really energetic teacher. Her lectures are always entertaining and she doesn't get off topic. I have never seen her in a bad mood and she is willing to help you if you're will to talk to her after class or during her office hours.
Ms. Florence is a very nice person. She loves what she does and and is NEVER in a bad mood. Always smiling and getting the class involved in discussion. Textbook is on eSolano in PDF, which saves money! She is always willing to help you if you need it. Just put some effort into your projects and essays, you'll be fine.
Mrs. Florence was a great teacher. She really loved what she was doing and she was very energetic and you could tell she had a passion for art. She made me appreciate art in a whole new perspective. I would highly reccommend her to anyone. Wonderful teacher!
Love Ms.Florence. She's the best teacher at Solano. She definetely makes art more interesting.
Vivacious and exciting! She brings this class to life!! I would take every class she teaches!!
Inspiring woman helped open my eyes to other ideas other than the ones i was raised with. Very energetic, really does love art and teaching, very easy to see this. Skills I learned in this class helped me transfer to UC and be successful there. You need to show up to class and do your best on projects and tests but should be just fine, if you try.
She was a very nice and easy teacher. dont brother buying the textbooks because you will never use them. Her test were a little hard but she would let you make them up. over all she was a great teacher!
She is incredibly inspiring and obviously very in love with the subject she teaches. She'll make you love the subject, too. Her tests are difficult but she never surprises you with material you haven't gone over. About 8 reading responses were due, so buy the reader that she sells. She makes this subject very interesting! Take her class!
I really liked her and she really makes the class fun. Something I didn't like was that if you turned in something late you were awarded 7 points for late credit but a slacker who didn't even turn in the assignment at all was given 7 points as well.....didn't seem fair to those who tried
Very active teacher, does a whole bunch of movement, and is not mono-toned. She is quirky and funny. Very optimistic and catches detail in artwork you provide, or artwork you are going over. Most definitely recommend this teacher to future students.
I LOVE HER!!! She is, by far, my favorite teacher on this campus. She is so helpful and caring. She makes class so interesting, too.
Her class is easy just do the work.she loves helping and brainstorming. She comments on response papers. Grades on participation and input. Works with busy schedules and is very understanding. Just read the articles take good notes. She lets you use notes on mid term and final shes very passionate about what she teaches.
Her class is super interesting, I call it the Florence Show, and she has a lot of enthusiasm. Her class is not "hard" because she overloads you, but you have to do all the assignments, and they are not pushovers-BUT-she's flexible if you need her to be. I WILL be taking another class from her in the future.
She is the best ! I am taking her again in the fall. She made the class fun and it was very easy to follow along and participate in class.
Professor Florence is an absolutely fantastic instructor! She embraces her lectures with such enthusiasm that it is impossible not to enjoy her class. She obviously has a passion for what she does, and it shows in how she interacts with her students. She is by far my favorite instructor at Solano and I would highly recommend her to anyone.
She is SUPER passionate about art and gets very excited talking about it. She basically runs around the classroom for the entire class period, flapping her arms. She does a really great job of explaining things and gives lots of detail. She has lots of energy and kept class interesting.
Very easy to understand and very easy to pass. She's a ball of energy who is always there to help if you need it. Very understanding and super fun. You'll enjoy any of her classes.
Words cannot describe how awesome Professor Florence is, but I'll do my best. She is the epitome of an instructor who has truly embraced her subject wholeheartedly, and her passion for art history and engaging methods of teaching made for an amazing class. Super friendly and always helpful, she is without doubt my favorite instructor at SCC.
She is very energetic and entertaining teacher but too much work and too much essay for an art class. If you dont pass your drawings etc she will give 25% which is cool. The Only thing I really hate is the Museum thing. I Got C because i did not go to the museum...
This was an easy class. Draw a couple of assignments, and write two essays;the length doesnt matter. There is no need for a textbook. There is no need to study for test becasue if go everyday and pay attention it is easy to remeber what she said. She says "do you like","do you love" after every sentence. very annoying.
I liked her teaching syle but the only thing was that she keeps walking back and forth while lecturing and you will get dizzy. Lots of work in this class. Textbook absolutely needed for studying. All the details that you need to know for the midterm and final are within the book alongside pictures. She doesn't cover all of the details in class.
All over the place and hard to keep focus. She graded work pretty hard, and not everyone is meant to be an artist. If you aren't good at drawing, don't expect full credit on your work.
Love her!! Great teacher. After you take the first test you will have a good idea on what she is looking for. Pay attention to the details. She grades fairly and is so much fun. Her energy rubs off on you and you will not be bored!!
I absolutely love her. She's very quirky and it might take some getting used to but she really is a good teacher. Nothing's too hard and you'll put in minimal/medium effort if you want an A.
This class was my favorite class this semester. I have to admit their is alot of papers to write in a short amount of time. She is a great teacher absolutely loved her class.
Great Teacher! She is fun and quirky and really loves her subject. If you show interest and give effort you will get a good grade.
Highly recommend her. I have had Ferd for 3 different classes now and will be taking 1 more from her. She is very helpful with assignments and when the class is over who will have learned alot.
You can tell she is just in love with what she does. She actually has a passion for her work unlike most teachersprofessors. I had her twice, once my first semester for Art Appreciation and a second time my last semester for Art History. She's quirky and goofy and will make you laugh AND learn at the same time. Crazy, I know.
Great teacher, very passionate and always keeps classes interesting. I always looked forward to Ferd's lectures, always left class feeling like I'd learned something new and interesting. Would recommend this class to anyone. Exams and papers were fairly challenging, take notes and you'll do great!
Great professor! Passionate about her subject. Assigns fun projects. Do the work and show up for class every day and you'll do fine. Definitely worth it to take her class.
One of the best instructors I've ever had. Since I'm not an art major I wasn't expecting this but her energy and enthusiasm are infectious and kept our interest. Not hard to get a good grade as long as you show the effort. Definitely recommend!
Love this professor, she has so much positive energy. Definitely consider this class. Show up, pay attention you'll probably pass, i didn't buy the book and got by just fine.
I have taken 4 classes from her and highly recommend her classes. You will learn a lot. She is always there for her students. More than willing to help anyone with any of her assignments. She creates the textbook which saves us students money.
We had several discussions including a couple where we got to use our creativity. We also had to visit an art museum and write about two pieces of art. The midterm and final were tough because the questions pertained to the artwork featured in the textbook so really study the details. She also is the author of the textbook.
Professor Florence is the most energetic instructor at Solano Community College. She is jazzed every class meeting and inspires her students to love art as much as she does. It is because of her influence on me, I have become a member of the Crocker Museum in Sacramento. My wife and I regularly go to the Crocker about every 5-6 weeks.
I've taken ART 001 and ART 003A with Ferdinanda and she is one of my favorite teachers. She's the teacher that inspired me to make my major Art History. She loves art so much and it really shows. Her lectures are a real treat and if your lucky maybe she'll recite some Dr. Dre.
I took this class because i had to but i cannot stress how glad i was that i did. She's a great teacher and very enthusiastic about what she teaches. I learned a lot during her lectures. Would recommend.
Very entertaining lectures, do your work and you'll be fine.
Professor Florence was an amazing instructor! Her lectures were very clear and detailed. I recommend purchasing the book to help with tests and quizzes because she does ask to compare and analyze artwork. You have to go to a museum once during this semester and write a paper about it, but that's not due until the end of the semester.
Great Professor. Makes the class fun. There is a lot covered and you should not miss any classes as her lectures are full of information. It is a fun class but it is not an easy A. You have to do the work, come to class and study for the exams. I will take Ferd again for Art002.
Ferdinanda is such an outgoing and sweet lady, and you can tell she's very passionate about art. I've never taken an art class before, but she made the class very interesting during her lectures. You're allowed to miss 3 homework's with no penalty, and her tests are open note. She's a great professor I highly recommend
Took this class to satisfy Area C Arts & Humanities of the Option C for CSU Transfer. At the end of the sem, I had a better understanding & appreciation for art & its history. Ferd is passionate about her craft; her deliverance kept me engaged & inspired to learn more on the subject matter. Lectures +Exam: easy to understand & lecture-based exams
I took Art 003a at the Vacaville campus. Professor Florence is delightful. She is passionate about students and their understanding of her class. She is a very hard worker and answers emails! I would take all of her classes if I could.
Florence made me rethink art appreciation! She gave awesome, in depth feedback and really sought to engage all of her students in her clear love of art. If I ever subjected myself to another art class, it would be with her.
Ferdinanda is such a cool professor, I loved taking her class. She is so energetic and full of knowledge. Her lectures are always fun and there is never a dull moment in her class. She is cool with phones, food, drinks, and gum. She has her own book that you need to buy but has all the lectures notes flashcards and homework in it.
She was an amazing teacher who had a nice and charismatic energy. She made sure to give plenty of places to find the info that would be needed for tests (there were very few & they were pretty easy if you studied at least once). She responds to emails relatively quickly and is very flexible when deserved. (Don't stare at your phones too much).
Amazing professor! She is energetic and enthusiastic and although the class I took included long powerpoints, the lectures were fun. She is understanding and isn't strict about homework and tests. This class was fun, we learned how to interpret art, learned about culture, and had a field trip. Homework and tests weren't difficult, only one essay.
Ferd is an outstanding professor! Whether or not you are into art she makes her subjects interesting and enjoyable. She is very approachable and really wants her students to not only do well but to get a lot out of her courses. I have taken several of her classes and think she is the best!
Ferd is literally the best. She's one of the funniest professors I've had. Her lectures are a joy to listen to because of her humor and how relatable she makes the content, even though the art and its history are centuries old. She's thoughtful and energetic. Assignments are paced, and their difficulty builds up, but they're not hard. Easy and fun.
Grading Policy- 13 Discussions at 10 points each 130 points Exam (Midterm) 55 points Exam (Final) 55 points Museum Paper 40 points If you fail midterm, and participated in all discussions and take an extra credit, you'd most likely earn high C. Books may be required for the exams...I did not use it.
There were 13 Discussions, Midterm, Final and a Museum Paper. For taking art online to get the requirement out of the way i was happy with the class. She expects you to put effort into your assignments even though its an art class. I would take again, but don't just think you are going to skate through with an easy A
For taking art online to get the requirement out of the way i was happy with the class. She expects you to put effort into your assignments even though its an art class. I would take again, but don't just think you are going to skate through with an easy A
Prof. Francis' classes are wonderful and require good writing skills. There will be several essays. Ferdinanda made me realize that I enjoyed writing as much as I enjoy painting. She has a wonderful way of making the connection between all of the arts clear. Her respect for art and it's history is contagious as is her energy. Big thumbs up.
Wonderful! Optimistic. Her humor is a bit goofy and she is very expressive, so she might get on your nerves depending on your style of humor. Easy assignments, the book is exactly like the lectures so its an excellent study material. Late work accepted. Mandatory museum visit. Easy tests, just pay attention to the lectures.
Florence was a really good professor. This was an online class so there were weekly discussions that were based off of online lectures and readings in the book. Overall it was an easy class. The midterm and final were a little tricky as she asked very detailed questions from lectures/book/
She's very nice and cool but a hard grader you would think art is easy but she makes u work for it. She talks a lot tho.
You can tell that Professor Florence loves art, and that passion helps to make the class interesting. She also cares about the students and their understanding of the art. I learned a lot in this class and actually had fun doing the projects. Be ready to read the chapters and take good notes and you'll be fine. GREAT teacher, great experience.
Definitely a hard class to sit through. She is excessively energetic. I had to take this class as a part of my major. If you have no interest in art don't take her class. She makes you work for your grade and is a tough grader. Believe me when I say she is passionate about art. The first day I was beginning to question if I could stand her. Got a C
You don't need the workbook if you attend the classes and write notes, but the book matches her lectures so if you miss class you have everything you need. There is homework every week and a required museum visit and analysis paper. I advise you learn how to analyze art elements before this class (take art appreciation). Notes are ok for exams.
You need the workbook which is a bit obnoxious to get and pay for. If you don't show up and listen to her lectures you'll do poorly on the tests. Good news is she's super fun to listen to and is super approachable. She's a great choice. The homework is heavy for the first half then lessens.
What a wonderful teacher! Ferdinanda is so passionate about art & it definitely shows. Her lectures are very interesting and she knows a lot. There is a mandatory museum visit but I found it to be a good time. The class is a moderate amount of work. If you pay attention and do your homework it should be an easy A.
Textbooks ARE needed. Don't need to show up to class, you can study everything from your book(s). lots of hw. Prof. Florence is extremely passionate about art & her lectures are very interesting if you care about art history. Tests are easy only if you understand the art, its symbolism, who the artist is, etc. The best prof. at SCC! :)
Ferdinanda Florence is one of the best teachers I have ever had! Very approachable, makes the subject fun and interesting to learn and as long as you do your best, you will get her best as well. Her lectures are enjoyable, she did not make us do group projects, which I find to be a plus, and she responds to questions in a timely manner.
Shes an amazing teacher whos truly passionate about her job. You wont be bored in her class.
Professor Ferdinands is an exciting teacher. Shes never dull, and it makes it easy to pay attention. Her exams have exactly what she said would be on them. If you study just a little, youll get an A. The assignments are small and fun. She made Art History fun!!!
One of the best teachers Solano has to offer. Very caring, understanding and opened minded. My favorite class all year! her lectures are easy to follow along and makes it relatable. All you need to do is buy the workbook which is quite expensive but the source of how you will be graded
Be sure to always listen to lectures! That is key for this class because everything in the tests is what she says aloud during the lectures. Always show up or else you will not pass. Overall she was a great professor and has a lot of enthusiasm. Make sure to get her textbook!!!
Art is not a subject that is in my interest or major, but I am happy that I took the class with her. Florence's expectations are very clear and you will have no surprises. She is clearly passionate in what she does and I highly respect her for that! Be sure to not push off doing the readings and study them attentively. You will pass :)
Had two classes with her before and she was amazing! No complaints. She is a great teacher to be with. I love her energy and vibe. She teaches with real passion for art and the renaissance. She'll definitely keep you interested and entertained.
Professor Ferdinanda was a great professor. The lectures were always interesting. You have to go to an art museum at some point throughout the class and write an analysis on the exhibit. There were studio assignments and history assignments
This class was a great experience. She is passionate and outgoing. She answers questions thoroughly and in a way that is understandable. Her work is doable and well-written. I enjoyed this class and now, wish to major in Art History. After all the bad professors I have had, this class was a joy.
Professor Ferdinanda Florence is the best professor I have ever had. Her class is easy if you listen to lectures, or even if you miss a few!! You cannot cheat on her midterms or finals because they are usually 6 multiple choice worth 1 pt each and then 2 essay questions. Her class is easy for those who actually try.
She is an amazing person and is super passionate about her work. Makes the class as easy as possible for students. She makes videos for you to watch as "lecture" I didn't watch any of it and I didn't read anything. I'm a Biology major so none of this interest me and she noticed. But I would really recommend her especially if you are an art major.
I took ART002, when I was a senior in high school looking for some college experience before graduating. Not only did I feel prepared for college-level writing because of Ferdy's feedback, I also felt encouraged to pursue art history because she made it so effortless and engaging. A humorous and genuine teacher who tackled complex art discourse.
She is amazing. Shes super passionate and really cares about her students. I'm not even an art major and this has been one of my favorite classes.
Professor Florence is the most genuine teacher you will encounter at SCC. Her personality is SUPER bubbly and energetic. I wasnt entirely interested in the Arts, but Florence made the class interesting. I soon became an Arte Critic :)
Although clearly a caring teacher, but... All her quizzes are based off of her OWN book. This was already an issue at first , as I've had teachers do this before. Her book is filled with fluff, like her quizzes, and because of that her quizzes are a bit harder. Its not difficult to get an A, but I feel she could have done better.
Mrs. Florence was super sweet and professional! Not only was she a fun teacher, but she made the topics interesting and you can tell she really knew what she was talking about which made me trust her and her work. I really respect her passion for art and would for sure take her class again!
I wasn't a good art student always, but I believe professors like Florence are what made a difference for me. I enjoyed the course, and it sparked my interest for architecture. She loves what she teaches, and is great at giving feedback. Few assignments, lots of reading. If you try you will do alright in this class.
She really like to help her students. She response back and at times give extra time on assignment. I would say though you have to do a lot of reading in modules and in the book that is online. The quizzes are 4 question and not at time easy to find in the text. You have one essay that requires a field trip(things changed for us since COVID).
On the first day of class I thought she was weird and that the class itself would be annoying. However, she proved me wrong and I wound up enjoying the class. When we covered the astronomy portion of art she sparked the curiosity that led me to taking an astronomy class. She is so passionate and caring that I wouldn't hesitate to take another class
For fall 2020 Semester, I was transferred into her class from another professor, and Ferdinanda was the lecturer assigned to us. because of this, I only received the lecture part of her course. I'm fully here just to talk about what a great lecturer she was. No idea what her grading is like, but I would absolutely take her class again just to learn
I LOVE Professor Florence! You read one chapter from the book each week, and at the end of the week, you take a 4 question quiz. You even get 2 attempts for quizzes, and that goes for midterms and finals as well! We also have discussions around every other week, and she even takes the time to reply to everyone. I can tell she is very knowledgeable!
You get discussions where have to respond to the prompt & then write two replies to your classmates. There were only 4 discussions. There was a quiz after every chapter; one chapter a week. All the answers are in the textbook, but you can just use the pdf. She responds with nice feedback to your discussions. One report essay which wasnt hard! :)
This class was by far the easiest and smoothest class Ive ever taken at Solano. Professor Florence made it very enjoyable and was always open to any questions or comments in her free time, response time was fast, she was lenient on deadlines and would often extend with little to no point deduction, and you could tell she loves what she teaches.
Ferd was an amazingly fun professor to learn from! They really nerd out about art history and their commentary in their lectures made the class very enjoyable even if you're not into the subject yourself. There weren't many assignments and only 3 exams. Nothing was timed and everything was open note. Mind you, I did take this during the pandemic.
She is super sweet and always gives me the feedback that I need. I highly recommend her, she is very passionate and teaches the course well. There are a lot of lecutres but if you keep up with them weekly you'll be just fine! Not too much work at all, super interesting and engaging course.
I took her Art 001 class online and it was so nice. You just listen to her lectures and take some notes on them, take 3 exams through the semester with a few discussions here and there and that's the class! So nice and pleasant in her lectures as well as in the feedback comments :)
I loved Ferdinanda; they were very sweet and accomodating to anyone who struggled with the class and time! The class is asynchronous and there's usually only discussions and a few exams that were open note. Overall an interesting class but don't take it just for the credit if you dislike art or find it boring. Would want her as a professor again!
Personally, this class was really tough for me because of the readings. The textbook that she provides has NO images, so you have to Google all the art yourself (unless you want to buy it). This is frustrating because this class is like 80% reading. The discussions are fine, along with the quizzes. They are based off the book.
Where do I start! Professor Florence was by far the best professor I've had. She is genuinely so caring and understanding and even gives open-note tests (thank god). Her feedback is top-notch and has the most organized class, you really are able to learn. Don't miss out on taking her, you won't regret it.
I was most nervous for her class because assignments looked hard at first glance but she always gave helpful feedback and would honestly get back to me within minutes or hours at most. Very little assignments, if you watch the lecture videos youll be fine as she really goes through everything. She is very understanding as well!!!
Her class is really fun and easy t take! yeah, there may be a lot of reading but if you take notes and participate in the group discussions you will do fine in her class. She is very nice and provides very good feedback!
I love Ferd because they have a variety of assignments in their course. It helped me to get familiar with other kinds of assignments for different courses that I would take in the future. Their lectures are made in a way where you can really understand the material being taught to you.
DO NOT TAKE HER KINDNESS FOR GRANTED!!!! You could be having the worst semester and her class will be saving your GPA. Do as much work as you can, the extra credit is easy, do it. She is so kind and basically will throw an A at you if you do the work, think about the art, and make the connections. Communicate with her!
FERD IS THE BEST! She is so kind and understands that we all take other classes in addition to art, so she is very lenient with deadlines. She is LGBTQ friendly and loves everyone. Although I personally never got to meet her, I know her energy is so positive and will never turn you down or leave doubt in your mind. DEFINITELY TAKE HER CLASS :)
highly recommend
Professor Ferd is an engaging and inspirational professor. She is a highly talented artist herself so it makes sense that her class would be so interesting and engaging. The assignments are challenging but worth the effort because they're fun and you will learn so much. I wish all professors were like her!
Good teacher and good class
Great class, I like that we did an art project at home for the discussion post one week. Extra credit every week. 4 question quizzes and 2 attempts. Least stressful class, very kind teacher, with awesome feedback on assignments that I look forward to.
Professor Florence was one of my favorite professors at Solano. The assignments were straight forward, and you always knew what to expect. She offered extra credit if you replied to her comments. She also accepted late work and was lenient on deadlines. Overall, she is a very kind instructor, and I would definitely recommend her class.
She is literally the best. Amazing class. While it was an easy A for me, I still learned a ton. This is how classes and teaching should be.
professor florence's (or ferd, as she has us call her) class was amazing. super fun and interesting subject material and she even wrote the textbook herself! the work is really easy as well, but never feels boring or tedious. i definitely recommend her!!!!
The nicest professor you are ever going to meet. She is so nice and caring and doesn't make lectures boring, she makes them fun and interesting. 100% would recommend her!
Had her last year she is a good professor. I got a C+ because I did not put effort into my work. all you have to do is discussions and a couple of essays and artwork that is similar to the Artes that she has on canvas for you. All the material that you need is an art set for the drawings.
Took ARTH012 last year. Ferd is a good professor, you can tell she's passionate about art. Her assignments are essays about the artwork she discussed in class, and if you need help you can always reach out to Ferd. Had a C since I wasn't putting the effort as much, but she was understanding with what I was going through. I recommend a lot!
She is a fire teacher 10/10 would visit again. Enjoyed the lectures, low-key did not sleep during lecture.
pppppppppp
Professor Florence is a gem - her class is engaging, feedback is top-notch, and tests are open-note (thank goodness!). The workload is manageable, and Unstuck AI is a great study tool alongside the lectures. Highly recommend this class!
Really insightful class, most of the lecture material being her own words made it more personable. She's very picky with grading, but gives really good feedback so you know exactly what you missed. Tests were take home and open note. Lovely professor, she is very animated but I enjoyed it a lot!
Mrs Florence is awesome! She's kind and thoughtful! After the first day of class, I couldn't wait and excited for next week's assignment. I'm Neurodivergent and got an asc, she received it and emailed me and offer to have zoom meetings that fit my schedule and if I need help understanding and do checkup surveys on her students.
Professor Ferdinanda is great, she makes the class as easy to pass as possible. There's 1 assignment per week, either a short multiple choice quiz or a discussion. She'll give feedback for your discussion post response and if you respond to her message you get half a point of extra credit. Suuuper nice and understanding overall
I took this class in my first semester of freshman year, and it was my favorite by far. The professor is always enthusiastic about the material and is always available if you need help. Extremely lenient for late work, and there are always opportunities for extra credit. Very fun class and professor, I highly recommend signing up.
Amazing professor. There are three exams, they're open book and take-home. There's one paper, and you should expect to do a lot of research. She's very willing to help, lenient with late work, and gives great feedback. You can tell she loves teaching, and her enthusiasm makes the material so intriguing.
Great professor overall. She gives a lot of extra credit just by responding to her comments she gives you on hw. No textbook needed because she gives you all the readings. Hw is discussions and quizes. There is one paper and 3 exams. She gives you tons of time on the exams, and they're open note. She's very caring and is always asking if we're ok.
Very lenient and reasonable due dates (which were adjusted if needed). Lectures tell you everything you need to know. If not, her online notes were equally useful for doing assignments. Quizzes are always something she has gone over in class or can be found if you read the canvas notes. Very enthusiastic and great energy. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!
I am a STEM major, so when I had to take an art history course, I was not happy. Needless to say Ferd blew all my expectations out of the water. She is kind, respectful, engaging, caring, … the descriptors could go on. This is by far my favorite class I have ever taken and it is entirely bc of how interesting Professor Ferd made it.
What a wonderful person, she was meant to be a teacher. A fair amount of reading/reaserch/writing for discussions but it was always fun and you got to chose what you wrote about. Easiest tests I've ever seen, all non writing questions were in the reading.
