Dr. Billiot is the coolest teacher. Don't be scared of her accent. She's really funny too. I had her as my faculty mentor and she helped a lot.

Fun attitude!
tests are easy!- she has a great personalility. do practice problems she assigns- for the most part they will be the same questions on tests.
shes from the middle east-like, thick accent. she sux 4 understanding..
She's a great prof! Her accent is a little tricky but she's a good teacher. She's gotta great sense of humor and she's cool.
She's cool ,the work load is crazzy, but that comes with the territory. Her accent is a lilttle complex but not to the point of misunderstaning. I hope to have her for more classes(she teachers whats necessary)!!!!!!!

Easy A if you pay attention in class!!
Dedicated.Accent=sometimes hard to understand.Great at upper level chemistries &too advanced for lowest.Dont take for gen chem. unless you already have a good highschool basis b/c she doesnt start from zero. Goes through material moderately fast. Concepts not always conveyed clearly.Acceptable exams.Kind woman.approachable.Willing to help students.
Pretty easy... Just pay attention in class...

She is a wonderful teacher! She does not make her tests tricky at all! If you do your assigned problems then you will ace the tests! She is always willing to help you and there are plenty of study sessions! You will really learn the material with her.
All that you need to do to pass is go to class.
She's a very good teacher, while it's hard to ask her for help her lectures are very good and easy to follow.
Such a great professor. Makes things so clear and easy to understand. You do have to study for her tests but they are easy. Use her website and do the problems that she assigns.
She is really hard to understand. I went to class everyday, and took notes all the first semester and then stopped the seceond semester, bc I realized that they didn't help bc she would go so fast that I wouldnt be able to keep up. Not a good course to take unless you are good at teaching yourself.
Awesome teacher. She is always available to help students especially by email. She is fast paced in class so it keeps you moving and you stay awake no matter what. She adds humor and I highly recommend her! Especially if you plan on going on to higher levels of Chemistry.
Dr. Billiot is an awesome prof. that truely cares for her students. She is willing to assist anyone who makes an effort in the class. I stress attending the classes, and doing the homework, but would reckomend her to anyone who asks for a good GenInorg chem II prof. She makes a hard class understandable.
This is one of the worst professors I've ever had. She doesn't teach the material on the tests and relies on online homework to do her teaching for her. She doesn't do calculations in class and makes mistakes all the time. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU!
I really enjoy her classes. She is really helpful and I never had a hard time understanding her accent either. I'd recommend her!
lectures suck, she makes many mistakes, doesnt explain, test are extremely hard
If you attend class and take notes, you'll be fine.
I thought the class was easy because I'm really good at Chemistry. But everyone else in my class hated the class. The stuff in class really had nothing to do with the tests. The stuff you did on your own (OWL problems) is what showed up on the test. Self learners will do well. Attend class and she will answer questions you may have.
She loves what she teaches, so she does cover material very fast. So you can't be lazy! But she is funny and is willing to go out her way to help her students.
She's pretty good. Sometimes her accent is a little strong, but not too bad normally. She does go through stuff a little quickly, but will always stop to explain if you ask. I'm not a big fan of Chem, but I think she's a pretty good teacher.
She is a good instructor, Make sure you do all the OWL, and attend the lectures with quizes. Participation is key. On all the tests, study your notes and old tests..actually memorize them.
She was really cool. Make sure you pay attention to the quizzes and the practices tests ;)
Best chemistry teacher ever. She teaches you the reason things are how they are, which almost eliminates the need to memorize information. There are also a lot of assignments you should get 100 on, so even if you aren't good at chemistry you can do well in her class.
Best professors our school has to offer. Her accent may not be english, and after a few weeks you get used to it. There is no reason to fail this class, then something is wrong with you.
For her first three exams, she allows you to use notecards and most of the material is from Blackboard handouts and the quizzes. BUT her final is HORRIBLE! She puts nothing that you've seen before on there! SO WATCH OUT!...but she lets you use as many notecards as you want.
She's really great about giving you opportunities to make extra points, (quizzes! so make sure you go unlike myself) She also uses great examples and makes chemistry easier to understand.
A heart-stirring person. Only 4 tests,no homework,no attendence,. At present, I get 2 full marks in exam I&II. Same blackboard practise questions appear in major test. She will give quizs in the class as extra credits.
Very hard to understand due to thick accent, poor organization and presentation of material
The class is math based take algebra first at least. I struggled but she was a very approachable and helpful teacher! I liked her class because you can tell she is passionate about her job. Tests are VERY similar to in class quizzes and quizzes on blackboard. I got a B in her class. Awesome teacher. Now I am a Chem minor and love it because of her.
She's extremely helpful and gives you a lot of opportunities to make up bad grades. Not always easy to understand, but she practically yells her lectures so you will never fall asleep. Most of the problems on her tests are identical to ones that she posts on Blackboard, so if you do the problems there you will be fine.
She had an accent, you get used to it. Don't make it hard on yourself just print the material from blackboard before class and study that, what is on there is exactly on tests. Go to the Si-sessions if you need help understanding.
Ive been to 3 different universities, and Prof. Billiot is easily the best professor ive ever had. She makes chem interesting!! shes funny and helps out alot. I HIGHLY recommend taking her class!
She is hard to understand but if you just do the work that is on blackboard then you will be fine when it comes to taking the test. I highly recommend taking her. I was scared at first but now I actually like Chem because of her. I didn't even by a textbook. I learned everything off of the material she gives us online.
So hard to understand :( and when i asked her for help in class, it was even harder to understand, i don't even think she understood me. Recommend going to the SI sessions instead of her class. She is not helpful at all!!!
DO NOT CHOOSE HER UNLESS YOU WANT TO FAIL!!! She has a strong accent, raises her voice all the time in class which make it difficult to follow. Her class is getting much difficult through semester. She does give practice exam, but do not expect to much from it. Exams are much more harder. She does not make herself clear in explaining the lesson.
DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK she doesnt use at all. Make sure you attend class, skipping one day and set you back a lot. Subject is difficult in general but she provides you with tons of tools to succeed. MAKE SURE YOU GET HELP WHEN YOU FIRST NEED IT... itll help you in the long wrong. I hate chem and made a C in her class
She's awesome, go to class and the practice problems she assigns and you'll do really well in the class!
She is a great chemistry professor.
Just do the assigned homework and go to class. She is a great teacher, you just need to get used to her accent.
She's one of the better professors at TAMUCC. Honestly you don't even need a textbook. Everything she wants you to know, she'll talk about. She really cares and will help you succeed.
She is a good professor but very hard to understand when she talks! She has a super thick accent. Chemistry was not my thing so I struggled a lot in this course! STUDY STUDY STUDY CASA WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND
Overall a great professor. Many students complain about her accent, but personally I understand everything she explains in lecture and so do many other students i've asked. She's great at explaining topics and genuinely cares about her students and will do everything she can to help if you put in the effort. She's also goofy and makes me laugh.
She's a pretty sweet woman. She tries hard but puts us through a lot. Online HW and reading turns into a 3 hour process, easily. I loved chemistry and SECOND SEMESTER LAB IS MUCH BETTER THAN FIRST! PLEASE DO NOT STRESS OUT ABOUT FIRST SEMESTER LAB!!! IT DOES GET BETTER
Good class and sweet teacher but when it comes to teaching she gets you lost in seconds. Her tests are super hard and do not expect the test to be the same as the review, they'll be completely different.
Has a great personality, but don't expect her to cut you a break. Low exam grades are common in her class. If your exam average is only slightly below passing though, you can still make it out with a B. Expect to put in effort. Her accent is only difficult to understand the first week. Might not want to take her for Ochem if you struggle w/ chem.
she constantly says "don't take me for Ochem, you won't get an A," she doesn't teach well at all. you learn more in SI sessions than in her class which is why you don't even have to show up for lectures because you won't learn anything. her powerpoint system is so unorganized and confusing, she goes from slide 13 to slide 47 then back to slide 19
Since she's a chemistry professor she obviously knows the material, well she automatically expects we know it THEREFORE she doesn't explain anything well or thoroughly. I guess she feels a student doesn't have other classes besides hers because the amount of homework she assigns .... connect, learnsmart and aleks ... it's a joke.
One of the top chem professors I've had. She doesn't rely on powerpoint and rather goes over practice problems in class which I really prefer. Ochem2 was not easy at all but she does try to make things simple and understandable. The tests are tough, but she will say which chapters are more important and lets u bring a flashcards for the test.
Dr. Billiot is the worst professor I've ever had. She wants everyone to fail.
A lot of extra work comes with the class where you basically end up teaching yourself through all the online assignments. She gets off topic with stories quite often during class but goes through the basics during class though most of the time it's after you've already learned the material through online assignments.
Teaches topics in a fun and interesting way. Always do your homework on time and expect the exams to be very difficult.
Accent is not bad, her tests are TOUGH. do NOT take in summer
I took online summer 1. SUPER EASY. finished the whole class in 10 days. Everything is accesible right away and u just have to finish it all before the end of the semester. No midterm just a final. I made a 70 on final and still got an A. Take it online during summer if u can. Uber duber easy.
Took this class in the summer and was super easy. Pay attention to what she writes, go to the SI sessions if you don't understand or have quedtions, go over chapter quizzes and do practice exams.
Dr. Billiot is amazing! If you go to class and work hard, you can easily make an A or B. She is very understanding and you are always welcome to go to her office for help. Took Chem 1 in the summer with her and going to register for Chem 2 with her this Spring. She is the best!
Passionate, approachable, & very fun in lecture. ATTEND SI SESSIONS!! Do the homework, it REALLY does help on exams. She allows 5 notecards for exams. This class is completely manageable, but you have to put in the work, its definitely not an easy A. Pay attention, ask questions, study, and work to UNDERSTAND material &you'll do fine.
She is great.
Super energetic but doesn't teach. In GenChem II, basically spits a bunch of equations at you but doesn't tell you how to use them. Exams are EXACTLY like practice exams though
Took General Chemistry 2 with her. she has an accent but is easy to understand. She is easier than most professors and harder than a few professors. a lot of the grade comes from homework which is helpful. she drops your lowest grade witch is also helpful. i just wish she had extra credit opportunity. either way, Chemistry is a tough course!
She is a great teacher. After one week, you get used to her accent. Attend her class, or you fail.
She is great. Just too much homework. You really learn in her class.
Yes, the test are tough but Dr Billiot lets you bring notecards. Beware, if you dont know what youre doing notecards wont help you at all. One of the best proffesors I had. Liked working examples in class, that help a lot. She explains hard concepts and makes them easy to folllow.
Dr. Billiot is energetic professor, her lectures are hands on meaning its all practice questions and really working through things. The textbook is not needed at all, didn't open it the entire semester. She gives chapter questions and practice tests which are exactly the same as exams. Great professor!
not an easy subject and with Billiot you need to do a lot more of your own practice outside of class. SI is another way but you still need to do most of it on your own. Use the book if you dont understand anything. Homework is optional but so many people needed it by the end b/c they were failing. So do it and get it out of the way!
Dr. Billiot is AMAZING! I had her for a summer session & learned so much in that short amount of time. She does use ALEKS which is a lot, but she also gave options on how our final grade could be calculated. She definitely cares for her students and is an amazing lecturer. Her exam practice questions were super helpful & most appeared on the exams.
She gives out As like Oprah gives out prizes!!! You get one! You too! Amazing. Makes Chemistry seem like Zoology. What kind of species are we? Mammals. Cake.
I loved Dr. Billiot's sense of humor, but I think she overcomplicates simple topics. She does a lot of examples during class and gives a pretest the class before a test. Tests are hard. ALEKS is awful.
Aleks (HW) is awful but helps you learn ur stuff. Teacher curves tests. If you attend lectures and study her test bank you will get at least a B. Amazing sense of humor, would definitely want her as a friend.
If you haven't ever heard of ALEKS like me good luck with that its a big part of how you learn in her class. If offered you should go to SI and do all the practice problems she gives you, she uses the problems from practiced sheets and from the final review she gives before each test.
horrible professor. only heard from her the day before classes started, during midterms and on the day everything was due. you just have to finish all material by the last day. i basically taught myself and there was extra assignments on the syllabus that she didn't include that could've boosted my grade. don't take her if you don't need to!!
She is passionate about science and this shows in her lectures. The homework aspect (ALEKS) ends up being so much help because chem is very practice based and that's exactly what ALEKS gives you. She will help you if you're stuck on a topic. Using tutoring/SI really helps on this one.
Dr. Billiot is a wonderful woman in class as well as outside of the classroom. I have her for Chem 1411 and she's amazing. She moves at a normal pace and does examples in class to help you understand them. TAKE NOTES ON THE EXAMPLES SHE GIVES, THEY'RE TEST QUESTIONS! She does require that you do ALEKS and Connect homework. Love her!
decent teacher, kinda a weird teaching style tho. I felt although I learned nothing in the lectures but attendance was mandatory (she would even have someone count everyone physically there and how many people who signed in to make sure it matched). I have a good grade but it has everything to do khan academy and youtube
This was the worst professor I've ever had. Her accent is thick and she FLIES through the material, skipping slides left and right. Don't bother asking questions because she responds with attitude and sarcasm as if we should be the experts. It's evident she knows chemistry but trust me she is terrible at actually TEACHING it. Spare your gpa
Dr. Billiot is by far my favorite and most impressive prof I've ever had. I was terrible at chem in high school, so my expectations were low. Dr. Billiot's humor, patience, and story telling made the lectures interesting and memorable. She gives practice exams a week before the actual exam which are a lot like the actual exams. Study lecture notes.
She was just difficult to understand and she gave us loads of homework
I enjoyed her class and grasped everything! I wouldnt mind taking a refresher course with her again!
This class was a blast! Dr. Billiot cares about her students learning the material. She makes sure everyone understands the practice problems from a topic before moving on. Group practice sessions are super helpful. There's a weekly paper assignment where we each choose a paper to read and answer questions on via blackboard.
Very reliable professor. During my online final exam, my computer would not set up proctor, and started the exam anyways. I emailed the professor at 11pm at night, and she responded to me almost immediately. She got on Zoom with me so I could finish the exam because I wanted to do it that night. She always puts her students first! 10/10 recommend.
The online course is learning everything by yourself through the online textbook. Lots of reading but overall not the worst class i've taken. The final is based on the questions given off of the homework of each chapter, so if you study those you should be set. Pretty much your standard online course.
Billiot doesn't teach, there's +/-40 assignments from mcgrawhill, smartbooks are 25% of grade, no feedback. I was sick in the hospital for a month, she refused to change any deadlines, the dean of students had to force her to extend some and she would either not tell me they'd been extended or claim she never agreed to extend them. Extremely rude.
