Dr. Brewer was one of the best professors I had at Pierce College. She makes it known that her classroom is a safe and comfortable space to learn. In a summer session, there are only a couple quizzes which are pretty easy, the whole class received 100%. There are 3 essays due, but they are very simple and she is more than happy to help you.

Professor Brewer is an excellent professor. She is very passionate when she teaches and it is very evident that she knows what she is talking about. She also makes sure to prepare you for every test and clearly states what she expects from you for the class. Her sense of humor is a bonus and it makes the class even more interesting!

I took music 111 online during the summer. Music 111 is not an easy class if you are not familiar with its concepts. However, professor Brewer is amazing and she gives great feedback on all the assignments. This class is pretty much an easy A as long as you keep up with the readings. I personally had a great time taking this music 111 course over the summertime. Professor Brewer is a great pianist and always provides an enjoyable lecture despite the dry material. I would recommend taking this professor in the future considering that she is capable of making the typical mundane 8 a.m. class much more enjoyable. All her tests were easy concepts that she went over ALOT in class, so that you can pass the tests easily. This professor was really easy and was really fair with grading. There are three discussions, one concert report, and a midterm and final. The tests are pretty much based on the quizzes you do for homework and the grading is all clear cut. Do the work and this class is an easy A.

Took her for honors credit. One of the most generous professors that wants the best for her students and goes out of her way to provide the most for everyone. You have to pay for the textbook but the readings and quizzes are very straight forward. Quizzes for each section, three writing assignments, a midterm and final. Simple class and great prof.

I wish I had Professor Brewer the first time I took this course. There are 6 tests, 3 essays, and a final listening exam. Tests are multiple choice with a listening portion. She genuinely wants everyone in her class to do well. There's reviews before each test and she goes over the essays in great detail. Do yourself a favor and take her class!

Professor Brewer was amazing. I learned a lot in this class considering I didnt know much about music. You have assessments that you can take up to three times with the highest score counting, midterm, final, and discussions for extra points. Pretty easy and fun.

Music 111 is a super chill online class to take with Professor Brewer. I enjoyed getting more familiar with classical music. Shes a quick grader and always gives you opportunities to get a better grade by providing feedback on early submissions. The class is based on reading quizzes, a midterm and a final and a few assignments!

I am taking Elementary Piano II this semester. I like the way how doctor Brewer teach students. She is very kind, respectful , know all names of students after first class. Dr. Brewer help me always then I don't understand something. She has great methods to teach how to play piano easy and fast. I will take next level with her for sure.

It was the best class in last semester (fall). Doctor Brewer is my favorite professor . Classroom just for 25 students so I recommend enroll the class as soon it is possible.

What I like most about the class is when she starts talking about history in each era. There is 3 essay (graded on the format)and quizzes are base on each era, both on notes (she'll tell you which to study for) and which music is which by listening to it. The final is based on ALL of the music in each era. Both quiz and final are multiple-choices.

I took professor brewer for winter 2020. Her grading criteria was clear. The lectures for the homework assignments and the exams were very interesting. I really learned a lot. You would need to attend a concert and make a report. I really enjoyed the class. Thanks Professor Brewer!

This is my first class with Professor Brewer and it won't be the last. She has a very intuitive way for teaching Piano for beginners, like myself. She goes through every example with great detail and makes sure everyone in the class is on the same page. Excited to take Piano II with her!

Professor Brewer won't hold your hand in this course (you have to put in great effort yourself) but she she won't let you fall to the wayside. She gives you a bit of tough love, but she only means well. If you need help, she'll help. She could double as a counselor and I wouldn't bat an eye. Also her (and maybe your) musical lineage. Due to the Coronavirus I was only able to attend class with Professor Brewer for a few times before switching to online classes. Lectures are very interesting and she truly cares about teaching music to people who wanna learn. She is incredibly talented and plays piano in class. Show up and do the work. I would love to take her class again!

Took Prof. Brewer classes for 3 semesters and will definitely take again if I get the chance. She cares a lot about her student in their educational progress as well as other life matters. This semester moved to online because of quarantine but she still provides great video lectures and always responds quickly to email questions.

Professor Brewer is a great professor and a great person. She provides great feedback even though the course is online. There are lots of reminders for assignments. This online course uses c4elink. There are basically two due dates in this class. You are free to do this course at your own pace. Assignments are simple. This class is the way to go!

I've had several music instructor on different instruments. Definitely she is one of the best. She cares about your playing style with a perfect method. I hundred percent recommend her for all students who are interested in learning piano from beginning to advanced level. Take her class and enjoy the piano lessons.

Definitely Dr. Brewer is one of the best piano instructors. As we were involved with Covid-19 and our lesson got online, she put the useful video files on canvas, supported and cared about all of students kindly. Learning music appreciation was very interesting and fun! As an online class, you paid for a code which had all the material for the entire course. You work on your own pace and there are several assignments and discussions set throughout the semester. Professor Brewer also gives amazing feedback for the work.

I took her for an online Honors 5-week summer class. You do have to buy a course code that gives you access to all the class material though. There was obviously a lot more to learn in just 5 weeks, but it was pretty manageable as long as you set aside time to work through it. She also gives you good feedback in order to improve your score.

This class was really fast. I would recommend working on assignments early. Prepare for tests by taking down notes. Do the assessments multiple times to understand the questions. Assessments will help you with the midterm and final. The essays she will give great feedback just make sure to turn in a draft early. Really fun class.

Took online Honors Music 111 with Professor Brewer. She lets you submit a rough draft of your assignments before the final due date and gives you helpful feedback. Only 3 assignments that arent too hard. We used an online textbook where everything is basically given us at once with due dates. Great teacher and easy class.

For the 3 assignments, there is an earlier window in which you can submit for feedback which was great. So spend time to make sure they're as good as possible and start early. The 32 assessments are easy as long as you take time to read the online textbook. 3 discussions were engaging, but also spend time on them to make them unique.

The class was overall fairly easy just keep in mind that theres a lot of assessments (quizzes) you need to do. For the papers make sure to be extremely specific when talking about a certain music section or else youll get points knocked off. The discussions were pretty easy you just have to rant about your opinions.

I took Music 321 and Music 111 with Professor Brewer, and both classes were a blast. Music 321 was very educational, I learned so much from that class and from her teaching. She obviously cared very much. Any questions I had, she was happy to answer. She always wants her students to succeed.

I personally enjoyed taking Music Appreciation under Professor Brewer. She provided live samples of pieces, was able to explain any questions relating to the class, and also provided students with notes to help further their studies. I do not think it is possible for anyone to have a tough time with this class.

The pacing of the class is great for anyone with little or no experience in piano. Professor Brewer makes sure that all students participate in her class and makes sure that the students do not fall behind. Taking piano under Professor Brewer was great.

I took professor Brewers piano I class when covid wasnt around, but piano II was still very enjoyable. We only had 5 discussions and 3 exams (consisted of 6 things). There were a lot of arpeggios and scales to learn so be aware of that! Overall, she was an amazing professor and an easy grader.

Shes very nice. I personally did well in this class since I know how to play other instruments. You really need to practice everyday if you want to learn the material on time. I saw the test average for the exams and it was around 30%. I got 90s and above though. If youre serious about piano, take the class. She helped me learn a lot.

I took this class to fulfill a requirement and I highly recommend this professor. There is an online textbook and you have assessments for each section you read. The midterm and final are simply questions picked from these assessments. Its easy and you learn a lot. Just take the class. You wont regret it.

I'm taking the first piano class with her, and it is an online with no live class. It's a bit challenge class because it's online. Basically, watching her videos and praticing everyday is the key for this class. She is very encourage and always support your learning piano. 3 Exams are all you need for the whole semester, it covers about 96% grade.

The class was very enjoyable as Professor Brewer is such a caring and understanding professor. It is simple to do well in this class if you complete the quizzes and discussions. The textbook required for this class is a bit pricey, but you learn a lot from the book. This professor truly wants her students to succeed, I would recommend this class!

I would recommend Professor Brewer to everyone. Everything she has incorporated within each lesson helped me greatly and gave me a whole new perspective on music as a whole. I enjoyed the discussions she has incorporated and the positive messages and videos she would send her students. Overall, a great professor who is caring towards her students!

Took online course, self paced. Not a lot of work, very manageable. Theres a few discussions and other assignments aside from that its mainly quizzes which arent bad at all.

Professor Brewer is the most caring professor I've ever had. She responds quickly to emails and wants every student to succeed! When submitting an essay, I had technically errors and a blank copy was submitted. Professor Brewer personally changed the setting for me on the homework page and allowed me to submit the correct copy. She's amazing!!

I really enjoyed taking this class. Professor Brewer is very caring and really wants her students to succeed. The class was online with pre-recorded videos. The instructions she provides is very clear and easy to follow. As long as you do your work and practice you can obtain an A in the class. I would definitely recommend this class.

Not bad. Toward the end it's a bit hard, a lot more to memorize/read, so time management is a must. You get the hang of it and figure out which things to pay attention to after a few quizzes though. You'll need to purchase the textbook. The discussions are fun. Grading wise, just make sure you follow directions and you'll be fine.

The professor assigns new assignments every week so that the students can further improve their piano skills. After every piano test we are given feedback on what we should improve/work on. Everything is based on the materials we were required to get for the course. The videos posted by the professor were also really helpful.

Dr. Brewer's Piano Courses haven a wonderful experiences, even when they were through online video. I highly recommend taking all 4 courses with Brewer, especially when you have the chance for in-person classes.

My online piano class and its advantages were much more than I expected. The only thing that I think is necessary for a musician and missed in this virtual class, was performing in front of the audience which is much harder than playing against a camera. Dr. Breower is an expert instructor and knows her job even online. I recommend her to everyone.

Professor Brewer is an amazing Piano Teacher. I had no idea where to start for learning piano. Your result is dependent on the quality of work you put in. She posts video lectures and goes through a textbook to help you understand techniques and reading what's on the paper. She has clear grading criteria in the syllabus so make sure to read it!

It was one of the best class ever! Im very grateful for all time and support from Professor Brewer. She teaches me how to play piano from the beginning. She is caring, nice, professional and intelligent doctor ever I had. Totally recommend to take her class . You will not regret about it.

This was one of the easiest classes I've taken. Professor Brewer is very kind. The class is all asynchronous and there is 1 essay based on a movie. She will look over your paper before you submit it and give you great feedback. The only downside is you have to pay around $100 for the textbook that has all of the assessments.

Professor Brewer is an amazing, understanding, and caring professor and will do his best to help benefit you. The course was relatively simple yet interesting at the same time, there was no stressful or difficult criteria throughout this whole course. i would 100 percent recommend taking this course with Brewer, book was mandatory to complete work.

This is a great class to learn about music origins and the first great musicians in history. The class is very straight forward, you just need to read, and complete the required assignments and test on time. The professor is very accessible and fair. I would take another class with Mrs. Brewer. I really recommend this class.

I took this class in Winter 2022. Professor Brewer is a fantastic teacher and full of knowledge. She would give exciting topics for discussions and one movie essay. Be sure to follow her guides, and you will receive full credit.

Dr. Brewer is great! The class is straightforward and not challenging at all. The only downside is that you will have to spend $110 for the program to complete the assignments. Otherwise, the class is very enjoyable. The material consists of ways to analyze and understand the music. You will also learn about different composers, especially Mozart.

This course is very skill-based and the difficulty of the material is different for all. Dr. Brewer is a great teacher and an outstanding pianist and she will have no problem answering any questions. Make time outside of class and practice the material from the book and you will build a new skill while passing the class. Practice makes permanent.

Dr. Brewer has the patience of a saint and cares that students understand and master material. Upbeat, positive and funny. I look forward to taking the next level with her. She makes you feel like you are doing her a favor, while she is giving a great gift. So humble and caring. Something rarely seen or appreciated. A wonderful person and teacher.

I took Professor Brewer for Music 111 and Music 321. I especially enjoyed her piano class because she gives such good instructions and simple explanations so that everyone understands. She tells stories about composers and the music through the class and she shows you a lot of different techniques for breaking a piece down to its elements. 10/10

Professor Brewer is an amazing piano instructor. As a group, we would work through a piece together and create strategies on how to perform it. While practicing, she would listen to us perform and give us advice on what to fix/work on. We were free to ask questions and she encouraged us to practice whenever we could to improve our musicianship.

Great professor, love the online program she uses for students to take tests and read on. Makes everything very simple. Due dates are made very clear. She encourages you to stay on top of your work. Only way to do bad in this class is if you try to do bad.

Professor Brewer's Honors Music 111 course was fairly easy; the discussions and quizzes were straightforward. I am glad I took this Honors class, as it was the last Honors course I needed to take during my time at Pierce College. I highly recommend taking this class, it was a breeze!

This class was very informative. I loved the website used as it had sound, images, and interactivity. The listen to lecture function was the best I've encountered which is great when you have to read a lot of material. The teacher was clear and communicated well with the class. They provided timely feedback and the discussions were helpful.

Class is very straight forward, easy, and interesting. The professor is always available for questions and is an easy grader.

The class is pretty easy. Everything is either in Canvas or the online textbook. We have discussions to do which are pretty easy to do and the questions are quite interesting. In the online textbook, you will need to do a bunch of mini-quizzes and 2 finals. This is a self-paced class. The professor is extremely helpful too.

I enjoyed taking this class. I have gained so much knowledge about music. There are couple of quizes, discussions, a midterm and a final, but if you read the material you will be fine. Professor Brewer is very caring and inspirational individual, I would definitely recommend taking this class.

I also really enjoyed that you can complete all the assignments at your own pace because of how the due dates are organized. I took Dr. Brewer for both MUS111 and 321, and both classes were great! She is a very inspired and motivated professor and cares a lot about her students. Her grading criteria are clear, and she tries her best to keep students engaged and motivated. The piano is not an easy instrument to learn, but she tries her best to make it as easy as possible!

I enjoyed professor Brewer's class. All of the assignments felt pertinent to advancing a depth of knowledge towards the origins of music and why it's special. The class was not difficult in the text portions, however, one must give special attention to evaluating details of the audio clips. It was a nice to use my ears.
