very clear easy to get A
No Comments
very easy. take her if you can!!
Very nice and easy!
TEACH IS GOOD, HOWEVER THE TIME IN THE TEST THAT SHE GIVES IS TOO SHORT
She's okay-quite overrated.
Hand writing test, which can be tricky, because you have no time to ask question which unclear writing on the exam. office hour is open but too short, too many students need help, she was too busy. what can u do? Can't complain. Just be careful. She still is a good Prof. compare to others at QC, This school is sucks.
Very good, straightforward professor. Highly recommend. She's very nice and easy to approach with questions. If you go to class and do the homework, there's no reason not to do well. Can't ask for better.
Very nice professor. Clear and Fair. Gives sample exams which mostly reflect what she gives on her tests. She does not try to set students up. Take her if you can. Every math major should take her atleast once..
maybe a little difficult only because she's quick in class but she's very clear on what she's looking for on tests .. the tests were straight foward except for one or two tricky questions to confuse you ... but other than that very fair ... three tests and a cumulative final

She's a great teacher. Very respectful of students. She's available to help students out with things they don't understand. But you must do your homework every night to be on top of the material. You'll be hard pressed to find a better math teacher.
seems nice, but she just cannot teach. Although this is very easy course I learned everything from the textbook. She is helpful and even gives you exams from the last year. Despite the good grades I didn't do as well as I expected b/c the final was very unlike her other tests. Overall I am not satisfied and believe I deserve better.
very dedicated teacher
she is amazing! she explains everything so clearly and patiently and is always willing to help students after class. if u understand the hw problems and look at her old tests u will be fully prepared for her exams. just make sure to study hard for the final because they tend to be trickier than the midterms.
Makes material extremely easy. You learn more in class than from the book. Tests are generally easy, with one or two "difficult" questions thrown in. Highly recommended.
Explains material well, however, she needs to learn how to tell students to grow up-she babys the class because of the math education students who can't add 1+1. Drives me crazy that she teaches the class how to use a calculator instead of how to do the math. For as crazy as it sounds she has to make the class harder
The math majors only take Sisser because she is an easy professor and because they enjoy whipping out the old exams for the class. The math majors cant get through the major without getting old exams...whether they admit to it or not.
She is a tremendous asset to the department. She is extremely efficient and her lectures are absolutely crystal clear. it's NOT about the practice exams at all. If you understand the HW and class notes, thats enough for the exams. I was never bored or lost in her lectures. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to be in one of her classes.
She is great! Her lessons are clear, her tests can be a bit tricky but it's NOT anything out of our reach! She is very fair in grading and gives lots of practice with homework and her own practice tests from previous semesters. She is wonderful and I highly recommend taking her if you can. -CM
Easy teacher, and class. Very clear, exams are just like the old exams she gives out before the exam date. Take her easy A.
Way too easy. She babys the class way too much, and we barely learned a thing in class. She teaches to the students who arent very strong in math. If you want an easy A, take her, since apparently all everyone wants in college is an A--no one actually wants to learn anything.
She is a good professor, has office hours if anyone needs any help, she is not here to fail anyone-she gives you old exams. The exams she gives you are similar to these. All in all a very fair professor. I will def be taking her again. Only thing I would say is the board is such a mess, sometimes it gets a little confusing.
Number 1 spoon feeder at Queens College, not even kidding. If you do your work youll leave the class with an A and not know how to apply a single thing taught in the class to anything in the real world.
Easy A! Not only does she give old exams, she TELLS YOU what will be on it. All you have to do is take good notes, listen closely for exam hints. Hws=tests. Go to EVERY class, it'll make studying 10X easier. One warning: in class exams are easy, but the final is TOUGH. Basically the final is a combo of all the hardest questions from previous exams.
She is a great teacher, he exams are very fair.My only problem was the final, you really have to study hard for it, its big 12 questions many part for each question.
Nice professor, normally exams are moderately easy. But the Final is long and hard!!
Great math professor, very helpful, her class is very interesting. choose her classes, you will love it.
Dr. Sisser is such a sweet woman! She really cares about her students but the problem is leaving the class today I'm really not sure how to apply what we've learned in other applications than the problems she gave in class. It's mainly memorization and the final is long & IMPOSSIBLE, while her regular exams are moderately simple.
really disliked her, just another easy A not a meaningful class.
She is on professor that makes me lose hope for the math majors at queens college. Easy A, poor professor
Rushes the important materials at times. I do not think she is easy as others say. She is extremely helpful. Always have office hours. Fair grader mostly but not always. She should slow down a little especially on the difficult materials. Should add more conceptual info to her lectures instead of methods only. VERY nice person though. She cares!!!
Test # 1 was so easy she is the perfect professor for Non Math majors the class is filled with Us Computer Science majors who just need this course to graduate and its perfect for us since she is a spoon feeder made so many mistakes on the first test still got a 90 what a joke.
She is not a good prof for those who want to learn, but good for those who want a good grade so you make the decision
For students looking a for a good professor who can teach a meaningful class, do NOT take. For those who are looking for an easy way to get a good grade but not learn anything, by all means take her.
She's great. Crystal clear. She gives her previous test before each exam. Very good on partial credit. Easy A if you do all the work. It's not as easy as others make it sound.
I took her intro to linear progamming and while the class is indeed easy for me, the material is actually really interesting stuffs, it's not something you would learn in a pure math class. overall a great course, and don't be fooled to believe she's an easy grader. I know plenty ppl who get C's in her class because they think she's easygrader
Very engaging lecturer, who gives clear presentations with examples. However, in some cases she oversimplifies the approach to solving problems so the underlying mathematics is obscured. The final was comprehensive and included topics from the entire semester. Very fair grader; she gives lots of partial credit.
Great Professor! She treats her students like her own kids :) very helpful and extremely sweet! Just do the homework and never ever miss the review class because exams are based on review class.
She is the best!!!Just make sure to come to class and do the homework. She is an easy A, but you must to do the work.
Dr. Sisser is amazing! She is very helpful and understanding. Beware of the final it is composed of all parts of the semester. Shes a sweet lady and one of the best professors at QC that actually cares about her students..RECOMMEND! :)
The material covered in this course is very straightforward, and Dr. Sisser doesn't belabor any points in conveying it. Enjoyable lectures, good rapport with students, fair grader, and she is clear with students concerning what she expects them to demonstrate on exams.
i took Dr. Sisser for 241 and 242 and currently taking her 248 class. she is just amazing. very thorough in her work and she explains anything students ask. she got a doctorate from Columbia university, and it shows how well she is of a professor. this is my third semester with her and i enjoy each and every lecture i attend. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!
God Bless Dr. Sisser!! Shes absolutely amazing..I'm a pre-med and a math major as well and doing both math and science classes at the same time is no walk in the park. This would be my 3rd math class i took with Dr. Sisser and i got A's in all of them. She wants to see her students succeed and it was honestly just a pleasure being taught by her.
I took a class with Prof. Sisser in 2007 as I was completing my BA at Queens College. Overall, the experience was great. The sample tests she gives are very helpful before real tests. Naturally, if you're lazy, and don't want to work as hard as you should, that's on you. I think she's great.
Dr. Sisser's knowledge about statistics is very broad. In class exams are relatively straightforward, however, her final exam is quite the opposite. NOT an "easy A" course.
She is super clear, but dont take that to mean you shouldnt try. People fell short b/c they the thought it was an easy A. She wants you to do well but you need to put in your effort. HW is good practice (she brings her book in each class for u take pictures of her book so dont buy it) Exams are pretty similar to the practice ones she give
If you're decent at math, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. I walked out of 241 without learning much-- if you want to learn something that's actually meaningful (for actuarial/econ), take her for 242 or take 241 with just about anybody else. She's rather frank about her class being the easiest 241 out there, and she's absolutely correct.
if there are other option for 214 i wont take her this semester they have two mike teaching the class i would take them than sisser she wont cover eveything you need for hw you need to do the hw and find out yourself and when come to exam she is very serious anyway she is a nice person but if there are other option i would not pick her
In order to get an A in this class all three of your exams must be 97 or higher since majority of her students get 90's or above on her exams.
3 exams and that's it. Make sure to get above 90s on all 3 exams. She's a sweetheart. Funny in lecture. Fast paced. Textbook is helpful. Do the hws in advance. She doesn't collect nor check if you did it, but pace yourself to have your hw done before class so you can see what to study on!
you must read the book and try to do all the HW. she don't collect or check it, but it help you understand and pass the exam. she will give a review exam which is from last semester to help you review in class, and this review exam is similar to the exam you are going to take. have to study otherwise you will not pass.
test heavy, believe i will get D in the Course. wrong formula with 8 point off on the exam. most of the student was math major that is why they manage to have 90 some. if you haven't took math201, don't take this class. this class need a lot stuff from math201
Her lectures were great. Her review is very similar to the exams. Midterms were very easy but the final was too hard. My avg was around A but the final brought it down to B+. if you go to class you will be fine.
Great Professor. Exams are very much similar to her practice exams from the previous semester, which she gives out. If you know how to do all the questions, then expect to get a good grade on the exam. Definitely recommend her. No curve. Gives 3 exams and final, which counts 2X, grade is determined based off of best 4 exam grades.
She focuses on some topics more than others but expects you to know everything for the tests. There are 3 tests but she drops the lowest. Try to get tests from prev semesters because she reuses questions and doesn't care that people have them. She assigns hw every class but I never did them because most of the lecture is just explaining the hw
If you want an easy A in Statistics, she is the one to choose. She gives you a practice test before every exam and the practice test is exactly like the exam. She is a decent lecturer, and you do learn a lot. You must go to class or else you won't know what you are doing.
she's great, super chill, just watch the lectures which are recorded so you can watch on your own time, no HW and her reviews tell you exactly what will be on the quizzes, there's no tests only 7 quizzes drops lowest, just watch the lectures the day before and its all open notes, she wants you to get an A so just put in minimal effort
Dr. Sisser is really one of a kind. During this pandemic, as other teachers have raised their workload, she kept a very normal workload, with just a small amount of hw to pass her exams. She's not out to get you, she teaches clearly, and if you listen and review - you still do amazing. No final. Fair grader. Take her :D
Covid-era, only 7 quiz's, non cumalative, and the topic isnt so hard. no madatory hw or attendance and shes super nice almost like a bubby. great at explaining topics . she's caught on to chegg and will check if you use it on quiz's so b careful. does occasionally throw curveball q's on quiz's. least hard math teacher in qc, and ul actlly no stuf
Professor Sisser is fantastic. The subject is tough, but her explanations are very clear, she breaks everything down and goes into details. She gives 7 or 8 quizzes instead of traditional 2 Midterms+Final structure, so it is hard to fall behind and if you do not do well on a few, there is still plenty of opportunity to pick up your average
Final grade Average of best 6 quizzes out of 7. She somehow manages to always have 1 tricky question on every quiz so I suggest you find her previous semester's quizzes and practice those before every quiz. other than that she's okay at teaching, take another professor if your a Math major or really want to learn the topic. also her vids on ytbe.
She's a really easy professor. Just practice all the problems in the homework, reviews and lectures and you'll get an A. 7 tests and lowest test grade gets dropped. Both 242 and 247 were easy to understand and follow, as long as you study. But if you want an easy A, well sorry this isn't high school.
This professor isn’t good. She teaches way too fast and it’s hard to keep up with her work which she does in her head. I don’t think she’s a good professor and should consider reviewing her teaching method. I will not recommend her at all.
Dr Sisser is the best Math professor at Queens College. I took her for Math 241 and absolutely loved her! She wants her students to do well helps in any way possible. She gives a test from a previous semester before each test to show how her tests will be and what to expect. She explains everything very clearly in her lectures. Highly recommend!
She is a caring, sweet person and knows how to teach. Her lectures are good and she does reviews as well. The problem is she likes to trick you on tests so you must know the material VERY WELL. Easy to pass just hard to do well in. if you are interested in statistics, this class is a great choice. Strict grader, she will dock points for nothing.
teaches easy stuff in class but loves to put time consuming trick questions on exams. You lose chunks of points over nothing too
She teaches the material in a way you can understand. She's happy to see you do well. But you still need to put in the work because her 3 exams and final can have tricky questions. But she tells you what to expect on the exams. She spends a lot of time on reviewing homework and old tests. She wants to make sure you get the material. Great overall!
Took her after i saw all these good reviews but she was the opposite. hard questions very different from hw. does not curve expects you to memorize a million things before exams
I still cannot believe the grade she gave me. This is with me getting 100 and 90. Her final sucked so bad and she laughs it off with don't worry I'll see what I can do, don't worry I'm trying to help ya. The first exam she took off 5 pts for no reason, answer was completely right, I told her and she SAID I CHANGED IT. No curve disappointed. AVOID.
She is not that good not that bad. Average rated professor. She is not tough grader. She gives partial credits. Overall, fair grader. Explains all materials clearly.
At the end of the day she a horrible grader, and that weigh more on gpa than her being nice. if you want to learn and yet barely pass, take her. you want to learn and get an A dont take her. At the beginning she seem fine, but rapidly changed after test 1. her final was tough tough, and look I studied ALOT. She play favorites i think cause no way.
Very Fair professor. Would take again.
Great teacher, tells you exactly what she expects of you on the exams and drops the lowest one.
3 tests and final was counted twice. She tells you question that will appear on the test and spend time reviewing her previous tests. But she also spends lots of time showing us the proof of formulas and gives only 1-2 examples for each question so there is a lot of studying and reviewing on your end. If you take her, make sure to study!
Her class consisted of 3 exams + 1 final (counts as double) and she drops the lowest exam score. She's a great lecturer who's accessible for office hours. Probably the best option for 241 as her sample exam is exactly like her exams. My best advice is to do good on all 3 exams because her final is a little hard. Other than that, you won't regret it
She certainly was one of the professors that I've ever taken at this college.
3 exams and final. Lowest grade is dropped. If the final is your lowest grade, then it's only counted once. She emails the notes of each lecture at the end of the day. She gives a sample exam for each exam (but not the final), basically the same thing. Accessible for office hours. Amazing professor!!!! Homeworks aren't graded.
Demonstrates a sense of superiority and gets oddly political with you during office hours. Lectures are quite boring and disengaging. Self-contained content, so you're underprepared for advanced probability courses. Fair exams, fair grader, and explains things well enough. Take her if you just need to complete 241 or planning to take her 242.
Dr. Sisser is always happy to explain and wants to make sure everyone in the class understands and is on the same page. She goes over a lot of examples for every topic and gives variations in every problem. Her exams are not too hard, but the final is a little more involved. She drops one test grade, which is very forgiving.
I will admit, I barely passed because I messed up on one of the midterms severely. Her exams are straightforward and are similar to the sample exam she gives. Also, I advise to please show up to class, I notice she kinda gets sad when a lot of people skip and its only like 10 people. Final is brutal however, she completely makes it from scratch.
i love this professor. she posts class notes after class ends, hw not mandatory, 3 tests (lowest dropped), and final. She does reviews and gives sample exams which reflects exactly what is on the tests. shes also pretty chill.
She never use computer to teach , and hand writing is hard to see, if English is not your first language don't choose her, her exam questions like a paragraph. Is hard
She's definitely a great professor. 242 is mostly just memorizing formulas and methods to solve problems, if you can do that you're set. Her exam questions are definitely long and tedious and may be hard if English isn't your first language, but chances are you'll be fine. Very nice lady that generally grades leniently and wants everyone to pass.
3 tests plus final (lowest dropped with final counting twice OR final counting once if its the lowest). hw is not mandatory and its like max 6 questions. She does reviews and posts notes at the end of every class. attendance not mandatory but she explains very well if u go. gives sample tests and reviews before test. questions are straightforward.
Best professor in QC. Very caring and great lecturer.
This class was not as bad as I thought it would be. Prof Sisser is very straightforward and tells you exactly what's going to be on the exams. The homework she assigns is not mandatory, but it's good practice for the exams. The final is very involved and can be tricky. Overall, pretty good class.
