Professor Burgos speaks very broken English, and is a horrible professor. I don't think he or his TA's know what they're doing. Horrible horrible class. Don't take it if you dont have to, and steer clear of burgos.

He teaches directly from the book and uses the cd that comes with the book for slides. It is hard to understand his speech so it would be more helpful to just read the book the teach yourself. My TA taught me more than Burgos ever did.

A little difficult to understand but very helpful nonetheless. His TA('s) are completely horrible and always mess up the grading but he's always happy to fix it for you. Curves also, something very helpful for a Calculus class.

Burgos is completely out of line. I asked for help, he told me to drop the class. He had a TA hand back our exam b/c he went on spring break early. He wouldnt correct the TA's mistakes when he returned b/c he said we could have changed our answers

Poor english and poor teaching. Better hope for a good TA, they really make or break you. Curves grades because everyone does horribly on tests. Forget coming to class, it wont help you.

Likes to go off on tangents. Starts on one problem, and ends with a totally different one. His English is less than up to par and his writing on the dry erase board is chicken scratch. Doesnt like to help students much and is very hard to work with. A very frustrating teacher, overall.

He is not super nor is he bogus. Read the book. Work the review problems. Go to every single class even if you fall asleep or dont understand the words coming out of his mouth. He provides useful hints and crap like that. He wastes a hell of a lot of time in class but just blindly assigns crap to do

Hard to unterstand. If you took the class in high school, youre set because its a breeze. If youre learning Calc for the first time, GOOD LUCK. He always runs class over the time and has absolutely no idea what he's talking about 75% of the time.

In the beginning u may not understand his strong accent but if u go to class u will get to have an ear for it. If u remember trig from high school, u'll do well, but if ur not a good trig student dont take him. He wasnt a bad teacher, but i wouldnt take him for calc.

He was a very nice man...and I found his tests to be very easy. His final, however, was very difficult. His homework grading is also very hard because he grades it for correctness.

his teaching skills anre very difficult to understand. he is always late to class. i used to be so motivated but seriously going to his class made me wanna go to sleep. his tests are tricky but mainly from the homework. his finals are**** hard. u have to go to his class every single time otherwise

He was not very clear, thick mexican accent. The HW was really graded for corectness, and the he used the hardest examples of a topic on tests, I droped the class the last day of the drop period. Try to get someone else.

Burgos is very hard to understand, with his heavy accent. His test questions come from out of space. Many times he is forced to throw them out after you have wasted your valuable test time figuring them out because even he can't answer them! He explains poorly so YOU TEACH YOURSELF the material.

It is hard to understand his accent. He also is not clear in his directions. Often messes up this mathematical process and the class fixes it. Also gives homework to turn in with every test

He knows what he is talking about and seems to enjoy his job and math. The class is not what many would call easy but it is certainly fair. The tests are not easy and he overestimates the performance of the class. But, he curves the test so the class average is a 75. Also, you can drop grades. Good!

Burgos SUCKS at teaching, all he does is throw problems up on the board from the book & he overestimates the understanding of his students. If you aren't that good w/ math, get a tutor! Tests aren't that easy, but there was a 10 pt curve on every test-the final was hard even w/ studying.

He was an okay teacher. He really wanted the students to do well so he curved the tests. Tests were pretty easy. Make sure you study and do the homework he assigns as it does help. I heard that he was easier than the other teachers and I believe it. Is always willing to help you when he can and he really likes mathematics. Take him if possible.

The is the worst math teacher i ever had. He is SSSOOOO unprepared and forgets the lesson. how can you teach me and you confuse yourself? I was very frustrated and the T.A. was no help at all. You need tutoring if you wanna pass his class.

OK, so first of all he curves grades! AMAZING, nad he does want to help you, if you show any interest at all, and don't just blow the class off, he does try to help. Especially because this is a difficult class!

When registering, take into consideration how good you are at math. He is very confusing, hes gets lost easy. If you cant read the book and learn it that way, or get a tutor you will not pass.

Dr. Burgos is a wonderful teacher! The class is super super easy. I dont know how anyone could not pass. hes so funny and you get used to his accent! i highly reccomend it- i have a 98% in his class! the small groups kinda suck but other than that its a good class!

easy math for non-math majors. i'm and english major, don't like math, and i did very well. he is soo cute too, kinda like a hawaiian-indian santa clause. funny accent, but you'll catch on. great and thorough professor. writes down everything so you'll understand so wonderfully.

his class and lectures are fairly understandable and it isn't that bad until the test which are a pain since they are nothing like he makes them out to be and plus they're all written not multiple choice like the other classes and the final! so if you want to do well on the final, don't pick this guy.

People make this class sound easier than it really is. This class is very confusing. The easiest part was the geometry.He was confusing to me because most math teachers have accents. Make sure you try to understand him because he really does care.FYI This is not your ideal easy math class. You must really work hard in this class.

the teacher does have a terrible accent, but he is nice and if you need help, all u have do is go to his office hours and he will go over the problems problem, by problem.... he is through with his lectures, but i wouldn't reccomend missing any of his classes because you will quickly fall behind!

He is the worst teacher ever! He would,nt even call on me when I raised my hand for 10 minutes. I was confused on how he got the answer. So were a lot of other people. I can't understand him and he rambles on about stuff that does not pertain to the class. I can not drop this class. I have to pass it! If you can help it, do not take him!!!!

honestly what the heck i thought teachers were supposed to TEACH! i dont understand how someone can explain a problem using horrible analogies to explain math. another thing is i currently have recieved 3 50's and i think im screwed. i hope the tutor thing works otherwise my career as a doctor is over

The professor does not explain things very clearly. If you are assigned a good TA then they can answer any of your questions. If you are not already good in math I would suggest taking someone else.

I went to his lecture until the first test. i found that it makes more sense if I teach myself. I got a 75 with him teaching me and an 85 and 90 with me teaching myself. That has to say a lot. If you do not think you are capable of teaching yourself math, dont take him. HE MAKES NO SENSE!The grading system is nice, but doing c. alg this way is not!

I agree with some of the other students who said that he is not very clear at times and that it is easier to just teach yourself the material. Overall, I would say he is okay as a professor, not the worst but not the best.

I agree with what has already been said. If you can teach yourself, take him because his tests are easy.. IF you know the material. His grading system is really good too...if you make C's on your tests and A's on the quizzes (which are really easy).. then you can definately pull off a high grade. Just make sure you atleast go to the tutor sessions.

I understood it and he confused me...adding some random amount of numbers into the problem, even he confused himself. THEN he writes this is an important formula...and then doesnt write it. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

Burgos is not understandable. He makes mistakes and does things in a very confusing way. The book was not much help either. If you go to the help sessions you'll do ok. He has quizzes and tests and grades the homework so that helps your grade. He's a nice guy but he talks during the test...

the first few weeks of school i could understand his accent just fine. then he just started rambling& i stopped going to lecturehalls. THE TA'S are so dumb too. the ta i had doesnt even know how to do math. the hw is graded by doing maybe 30 problems and 4 will be picked and graded for accuracy. the tests, just do the practice test before hand.

This is the worst professor I have ever had. He asn't taught Calc I in over 2 years and doesn't care. Whenever asked a question he just sucks air between his lips ans tells you to read the book. Cares more about the math club than the class. If you have to trake him you will need a turtor from the start. He doesn't care if you come to class be

HIS CLASS WAS OKAY. HE GIVES MUTIPLE EXAMPLES ON THE OVERHEAD AND WRITES EVEYRTHING HE SAYS. HIS CLASS WAS NOT DIFFICULT BUT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN "A" GOOD LUCK. DISCUSSION SESSIONS ARE MANDATORY AND PRAY FOR A GOOD TA OR YOU ARE SCREWED! HE GIVES SUPRIESE QUIZZES IN THE SESSIONS WHICH VERFIES THAT U ATTEND THE SESSIONS. NICE GUT BAD TEACHER!

This professor is not the best math teacher, however when taking college algebra you have break out sessions that provide you with a TA. Your grade really depends on how good your TA is because she answers most of your questions and also gives you pop quizzes.

I had never done Calculus before so this class was HARD... I ended up with a B- but only because I did well on the Final otherwise it would have been a C+. Burgos is very difficult to understand if you do not know Calc. There is a lot of homework involved... Good luck! I suggest taking another professor!

I had him for finite math. He has a very strong accent and is very difficult to understand. Lectures are almost pointless to go to. The TA sessions are very helpful. Make sure you attend these and do your homework and you should get a decent grade.

He is just there to lecture.Not only is he disorganized but, he makes mistakes. A few students had to correct him in his own lecture. He seems lethargic. It's basically what you put into the class;if you teach yourself, you will do fine. There is no point in attending his lectures. TA's are really the ones that determine your grade.

Burgos is probably the least intelligent professor at USF. To make matters worse, it's not just the fact that he lacks common sense, but also, his rude, abusive attitude toward students. Not even math majors respect him. If you take any of his classes, be prepared to learn entirely by yourself.

Worse experience at USF so far and Im a jr. I will never take him again. The 1st test avg was a 53, the next was a 35. All he could say was that he didnt know what WE were doing wrong... He takes hw for grade, and grades it precisely the way it looks in his solutions manual. The avg hw grade was about a 75. I LOVE math, but hate this course.

Finite math is really easy, so if you get stuck in his class and you passed high school math you should be ok. His lectures are absolutely pointless so just learn the material yourself and you will be fine. As dorky as it sounds, if you don’t understand something go to the math help lab. (if you go 2x you will also get bonus points on your test.

Burgos is useless. You will definately learn how to teach yourself in this course. Pray you get a good TA. I didn't. Made for a double wammy. Don't bother with the lectures. Random quizzes are given in the labs, go to those. 9 hw's and 6 quizzes together are 15% 3 exams at 20% each and a 25% final. Quizzes are hard. Exams=easy Quiz=hard. EC availab

His class is incredibly easy. He thoroughly explains the text and your TA will go over anything that isn't clear. If you go to the lectures and the TA sessions, you will be fine. His accent is very understandable for a native Floridian. Overall, this is an incredibly easy math course.

Horrible! I am a junior and a math major and LOVE MATH. Usually the math professors at USF are ok but Burgos has to be THE WORST! He barely knows the subject and relies on people to correct him when he is wrong. Sometimes does not know how to solve problems so when you ask for help just hope and pray. Pretty much have to teach yourself. GOOD LUCK!

I didn't think this guy was anywhere near as bad as the other posters have made him out to be. I think he made excellent use of the other students in class - I learned more from hearing them argue back and forth than I did from reading the book. Other profs would have just silenced that kind of input. I think he's a pretty lenient grader too.

I'm trying to figure out why everyone gave him bad marks. Probably one of the nicest people alive, willing to help anyone at anytime. Makes some mistakes, but who doesn't? Will go over anything repeatedly until everyone understands. Nice, helpful, teaches slowly (which is good). Pay attention = A+.

Professor Burgos is probably the easiest calc teacher to understand even with his accent. He is VERY helpful and willing to see you at anytime.. Homework is optional, but I did it all.. Great all around.

I just took Business calculus with Professor Burgos this summer and I thought that it was absolutely great. He is a very good teacher and always gives extra points on tests. He gave someone in my class who got a 25 on a test a 50 instead. I think he is awesome and I definitely reccomend him.

I think Burgos is a great teacher. He explains the work and gives plenty of examples. He has an accent but it's very easy to get use to. I feel like he really cares and takes his time to make sure you understand the concepts. As long as you go to class and take notes you should be able to pass. Really nice guy, and very willing to help anyone!

He is difficult to understand because of his deep spanish accent. He is however very willing to help his students, and wants them to do well. Lectures are not mandatory & he often makes mistakes while teaching. I rarely went to his lectures bc of that. I just taught myself with the book, went to the TA sessions, and took the exams.

Horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE Calculus teacher. The only reason I say so is because his test curves are TERRIBLE. Test scores are your actual grade plus like 2% which is NOT how calculus exams should be graded. Makes countless mistakes while teaching which makes everything even harder.

Makes mistakes all over the place during lectures, doesnt explain very well, nobody goes to his class... assigns MANDATORY homework... The TA was giving us bad grades, so he started grading then we got good grades. His tests are pretty simple, but look to the book to understand the material. Also include LOTS of steps and explain everything on exam

Do not write on the pink scrap paper unless told by him you are allowed to, 1st test I took the TA said we could do work on the pink paper, he failed me for not showing work even though the pink sheet was turned in, I dropped but don't recommend him for that but if you take him justify your yes or no answers or your wrong, its easy stuff, lot of HW

Spanish but much more understandable than most of the foreign professors at USF. Requires that you turn in homework but it helps your grade and is useful so it wasn't minded.

The teacher is hispanic very friendly and definitely knows the material but his teaching ability are horrible he gets lost all the time. His accent is horrible and the homework is basically between 12 to 18 exercise per section and when he grades them he only give you credit for only the exercises that he choose.

I took Calc in HS, but bombed his class. I never showed enough work to please him on his tests (I failed all of them), even though I got all the correct answers and got A's in all of my homework. Insignificant curve. Avoid him at all costs, unless you can handle all of the work he wants done.

Awful teacher. Hard to understand. Doesn't help anyone at all. Grades ridiculously hard and has no curve worth anything. And when he teaches he writes every word on the board so instead of learning you are trying to read his awful hand-writing on the board that makes no sense.

I put textbook use as High because thats the only place ur gonna learn anything from if you take his class. You cant read anything he writes on the board. his curves on test is dumb. if you get a 50-60 expect to get a 10-20 point curve. An 85-100 zero point curve. A 0-40 a a zero point curve. People are rewarded for being below average.

Worst teacher ever. I knew all of the concepts and got A's on the homework, but "didn't show enough work" and failed me on the exams, even though I had the same answers as the guy who scored a 98 on the same exam. Completely worthless, don't EVER take this incompetent.

This is not a teacher to take if you are okay or bad at math. He doesn't teach. He goes over a couple problems during class at most. He expects you to read the chapter before class and in the class he will 'comment' on the chapter. If he doesn't know how to answer he rambles. His exams are difficult. Be prepared to teach yourself w/o study guides.

Worst excuse for a professor I have encountered over my entire time at the university. Provides no explanation in class; all he does essentially is copy proofs from the textbook onto the whiteboard. He has no concern for students.

I do not know why everyone else thinks he is so bad. He is a really good professor and is always willing to help. He has a slight accent but you can understand him pretty well. His tests are reasonable and most of the questions on the quiz come from the textbook. Just do your homework and study. Calc 2 isn't supposed to be a cake walk, so study!

He is not a horrible teacher. He does have an accent, and he is rather boring. He does also get answers incorrect on occasion when doing examples. But he provides ample assistance if needed and is very understanding and accommodating. Most people who put in a little effort do quite well in his class.

He isn't all that bad. If you go to the lectures and take notes you'll do fine. All of the test questions are examples from the notes with different numbers. Many people do poorly because not many people attend the lectures.

Mr. Burgos is one of the worst professors I've had at this university. You can't understand him or his TA's. DO THE HOMEWORK and if it wasn't for the "answer manual" book i purchased along with the textbook, I wouldn't have passed with a B-. Business Calculus is hard but I didn't expect to struggle so much. Prepare to teach yourself the material.

Honestly yes he was late most of the time, & did waste a lot of time talking about irrelevant things at the beginning of the class but overall his class was easy. In order to get an A you should attend the lectures or AT LEAST go to ALL the TA sessions because they are definitely more helpful than the class. He also drops your lowest exam & quiz

Business Calc was a breeze with Burgos. Compared to other Math instructors at USF, he's wonderful. Great at explaining how to do things and takes time to go over it again if you need it. Drops lowest quiz grade and Exam. Requires HW. Just go to most lectures and all the TA help sessions and you'll make a good grade.

tough teacher but is very good. do your homework and you will be fine. i took him in summer A which is an accelerated 6 week class. i finished with and A. no reason why you cant pass him in a regular semester. he has an accent but there is no problem understanding him. overall if you attend class and do your work then you will pass with no problems

He has office hours. He offers as much help as you need. If you don't understand something, go to the office hours. Don't sit around and wait for the exam. Exams reflect online and textbook homework. Calc 2 has been my most difficult class. Calc 3 is a breeze if you survive calc 2. Use online resources and lessons such as youtube.

Burgos did not teach this class, fellow classmates did by showing examples on the board. Professor does not lecture and when he does address the class, it is not helpful. If you ask questions, he defers you to come by during his office hours to dodge question. In short, DO NOT TAKE him for this or any other class you care to learn something in.

His lectures are extremely helpful. His tests and homework are a lot like the problems he does in class, but after the first couple classes there's hardly anyone there for some reason. He talks a lot in the beginning of class, but once he gets going he's alright. I put in a ton of work in the class, and went to lecture, and got an A.

A sweet guy that really wants you to succeed. He messes up a lot in lectures but knows what he is doing. Has a strong Spanish accent but is easy to get used to. Go to TA sections, they are very helpful. Would recommend the every day class schedule for those who aren't strong at math.

Wastes about 20 min of class talking about nothing so lectures are useless. TA sessions are where you're going to learn...if you can understand yours. Not trying to be rude, but it is VERY difficult to understand them. Often they don't understand your question so they answer it wrong. If math is your strong subject you should be fine though.

He is very nice and not that hard to understand. I never went to lecture because he would spend more time fixing the problem he than doing it. Go to the TA lecture's. You will have weekly quizzes and worksheets for a grade. Spent most of my time in the math lab with tutors. Tests are somewhat similar to old tests but not much.

Easy class!!!! Take ir with him, you want regret it. His accent is not a problem at all, you have frequent HW but at the end it helps to your final grade!

Burgos is a sweet guy, he knows what he is doing but sometimes tends to mess up (of course that happens when you have grown students acting like middle school children) I've had him as an instructor 3 times already and if you need help go to his office hours, he IS WILLING TO HELP YOU! Don't listen to the negativity of others.

Has an accent but if you don't let that bother you, then you can totally understand him. Knows what he is doing but sometimes gets off subject and I think thats perfectly fine sometimes, it's his class. Go to office hours if help is needed, HE WILL HELP!

Not sure why he gets so much hate. Sure his classes are a little scattered and boring. but his tests are easy (straight from the homework problems). You couldn't meet a nicer professor than Dr. Burgos. He has his faults, but I've had much worse professors in my time at USF. Just do the homework (and come to class for quizzes) and it's an easy A.

One of the worst professors at USF by far. Writes out sentences instead of explaining on how to solve problems. In order to do well in this class you have to self teach the entire semester.

Spent entire class on truth tables and skipped over the important stuff like Functions, 1-1, onto, relations, etc. His explanations of equivalence relations are laughable. "x is related to x" "yep, x is related to x" Relexive Check!

Prof. Burgos is an excellent professor who loves math (that's what I interpreted from his enthusiasm in certain topics). At times he is not clear on explaining certain things but if you go to his office hours he will do his best to helpexplain! I've had two classes with him already, they are a bit tough, but you need to put your effort as well.

If you have to take Calc 2 for some reason, take Dr. Burgos. Helps a lot, gives extensions on homeworks, and if you cannot make it to lecture for some reason and there is a quiz on that day, he would let you take it during his office hours if you let him know before lecture. In other words, works with his students to make sure they are successful.

Professor Burgos is one of the best professors i have ever had. He is always there to help. His homework questions are similar to his test and quiz questions. If you ever have a problem he is very lenient and willing to help. I would recommend taking him and if you work hard and complete all your assignments you can probably manage an A.

Pacing was fast, but tests/quizzes were reasonable. Sometimes he goes off on tangents during lectures so it might be hard to cover all material in time. Learn your definitions and justify everything in your proofs. He's not too difficult to learn from, but you can't slack off. He will fix grading if something is wrong, so be sure to ask.

Professor Burgos has a love of the subject and cares about his students. The class was very interesting and opened up a lot of doors for research. I recommend taking this class if you get the opportunity.

Easy going guy, tells you what you need to know before a test/quiz and gives homework extensions. There are quizzes every week that are just like the homework, and the tests are just like the quizzes. Partial credit given too.

Best calculus professor I've had yet. He was very clear about what the tests would be on and it was extremely similar to the quizzes and homework. There is a lot of homework in the class but it helps prepare you for what's on the quizzes and exams.

Burgos is a very nice man. He extends homework a lot and gives you a few extra points on exams/quizzes for explaining your reasoning. However it's still a challenging class and you have to work hard to get a good grade. Assigns homework about twice a week. Quiz every Friday, 3 exams and a final. Overall a pretty solid prof, would recommend

He's the best teacher I've ever learned. He always tries to help students understand the lectures and simplify everything as much as he could. Although the exams might not as easy as you may expect, if you focus on the lessons and spend just about half an hour reading the textbook after class, you will do them well.

Bad professor. Has a little accent but that's ok. I highly recommend you DON'T take him for Linear Algebra. He goes over lecture slides which is basically the book in powerpoint format and does a vague explanation. His handwriting is absolutely horrible. He goes over theoretical exercises only. Lots of homework and weekly quizzes which are hard.

His lectures are straight from the slides but the rubric is straightforward and fair: 4 exams, the lowest score is dropped. The quizzes and exams are pretty straightforward as well. A lot of the quiz problems are taken straight from the book. I'd gladly take courses with him in the future. You aren't missing anything if you skip lectures.

I would advise staying away from this professor at all costs. Burgos doesn't TEACH you anything and you will be learning everything on your own unless you have a decent background in probability already. I love math and statistics but hated taking this course with Burgos simply since he has no clue how to actually TEACH his students.

This is my first post on rate my professor. I am telling you avoid if possible. He does not know how to teach probability, probably because he hasn't taught the subject in over 10 years. His exams and quizzes are tough, grading is VERY harsh, and though I'm not, many students in the class are struggling to just pass.

Absolutely useless. Essentially teaches nothing. I achieved my grade by teaching myself, reading the book and doing practice problems. He talks in circles and takes 20 minutes of class to discuss "administrative matters." RUSHES through all lessons. No organization/schedule for assignments. The only USF instructor that has disappointed me.

In my opinion, Dr. Burgos is a really good teacher. He conveyed complex topics in a concise and understandable way. Once you attend his lectures and do all the homework you'd most likely get a decent grade. He's not a harsh grader and usually gives partial credit if you do something coherent. Easy going and friendly guy too. I enjoyed his classes.

Dr. Burgos was just an okay professor in my opinion. This course is very difficult to learn in an online format, and the lectures were often hard to follow. He didn't have specific office hours, but was just open to emailing about questions you have. It's a TON of individual work, but my advice? Don't take the homework lightly.

You are better off teaching yourself the material from the slides he posts. Burgos reads off the slides in class, and assigns 4 homework assignments per week based on those slides. You a Better off finding a professor who goes through problems and spends time working them out. He is accessible outside of class, but is not very helpful at explaining

I am around a little over a month into his calc 2 class and have resorted to learning most of the material myself to the best of my ability through YouTube. He only really works on very basic questions for each concept and rushes through class and the harder example problems. His weekly quizzes are very difficult and Im hoping the class gets better

I loved taking his class for Engineering Calc III! He has fair curves for tests, and gives questions that test concepts well without being ridiculous. He teaches with a intro to topics on the board, and then goes into powerpoints on the chapter based on your typical calculus book. Very caring and will work with you if you have questions.

Professor Burgos was alright. The class lectures were just summarized power points of the chapter in the textbook. There were weekly quizzes and 3 in class tests before the final. The questions on those were similar to the homework questions. Once you do the work then the quizzes/ tests aren't hard. I basically taught myself all the material.

If you did not take calc prior, he would be bad to take. most of his lectures were going over proofs or things not on the weekly quizzes. you would have to learn the material on your own in order to succeed. the only plus is the lowest quiz gets dropped and final can replace lowest exam grade. besides that, he is horrible

He was an extremely bad experience. Get ready to tutor yourself by yourself, as his lectures don't make sense. Neither his quizzes, homework, nor tests are similar to each. Too harsh study is necessary to pass. He explains through PowerPoint. I am shocked that the one for whom Calculus used to be nothing but easy once, is now afraid of it.

Weekly quiz. Missed a webassign cause I switched over from another class on the second week, he only wrote the code on board once, in class. Could only got it from my friend. Only found out at mid-sem. Emailed him, he agreed for an extension but half points taken away and responded passive-aggressively. Reads lecture of PPT. Not that much curve~4%.

It's pretty easy to succeed in his class if you authentically do the homework. His lectures are often confusing and hard to follow and usually take the form of powerpoints, but the textbook should help. MAKE SURE YOU TRY HARD ON THE FINAL! It's the only exam score that can't get replaced by a higher one.

I definitely made a big mistake by taking him. I was never bad at Calculus. The tests were horrible and his lectures didn't make sense. He puts materials that he didn't explain properly. And his homework didn't match the quizzes and the quizzes never matched the tests. Plus, he doesn't curve quizzes or tests. So don't take him if you want to pass.

In all honesty, the professor himself is not a bad person. Its just the way he teaches. If you are expecting to come to class, sit down and wait for him to go over problems without really explaining the methods then take this class. It is entirely going to be based off the 100 dollar book you are gonna buy, also there are no practice test.

Do not take this professor if you wanna succeed in this class. you'll have to study everything by yourself bc going to class is useless. He doesn't care about helping you improve and won't care about anything. Make sure to take any other professor if you have the choice. Prof. Burgos was not very helpful outside of class, however, his TA Nikhil was very helpful. Burgos is hard to understand in class, seemingly unorganized in his lectures. The worst thing was that the homework, quizzes, and tests did not at all correlate to each other. To study for this class, just memorize formulas and when you might need them.

Really nice teacher, not as nearly as tough as people say he is. If you attend class and do homework properly you will easily get a good grade. He is also super friendly and shows passion in what he teaches which makes lectures better. He will give curves in exams depending on the average on the class, sometimes he gives 10 points.
