He explains everything to you very well. He will give you the notes to study for the tests. It is easy to get an A if you do the work and study what he says. Great teacher. In the labs , you need to study on your on b/c he doesn't explain it well.
Great teacher. Practically reads you the test before hand. Study and you are guarenteed an A. He is not that great in lab, you are pretty much on your own.
He taught the first few chapters, but now he has us do projects to present the rest of the chapters. It's really easy though. Basically if you do the project and the tests, you'll do ok. He curves all the tests. He wants everyone to get good grades.
Yeah the class was easy, but the guy is a joke. He did one freakin lecture, and let the rest of the class teach the class. I didn't learn ANYTHING! Waste of money and time!

Very busy class it seems that he likes making things tricky. Also he talks alot about when you take micro, and go on in biology. I don't think he knows that not eveyone is going on to futher things in biology. He lectured every class. Glad it is over

If you are looking for an easy bio class take it with this prof...all you have to do is read the textbook! He returns things very late! Tests are very easy...and they have lots of extra credit. Nice guy...just be prepared to teach yourself.
im a slacker and this class was not bad. class work only labs and a few take home quizzes, bad thing is he has an accent so not easy to understand, usually get out of class early, and tests not bad. just turn in your lab work and read the notes, you'll do fine.
this teacher is easy the class is pretty much open book! you get take home multiple choice quizzes and all the tests and quizzes are open book! thats all u do, and after the first month u have presentations to watch and thats it
Very easy! All tests are open book and all you have to do is go to class. You have one presentation and you just have to sit through everyone elses. Very easy! DEF. recomended
This teacher is awful, his tests are really hard, the only good part about it is you sometimes leave early
Professor was always late and sometimes did not even show up!! He would give you notes for each chapter, although they were difficult to understand. The professor would come though have no interest in teaching. The biggest thing was that he had a thick accent and was VERY VERY hard to understand.

People who did not pass this class simply didn't study. Quizzes and tests are not too hard if you have read the material. Labs are easy. He is flexible and easy to work with if you need assistance.

Horrible professor. Does not speck clearly at ALL. Notes are horrible. Test and quizzes are hard and have absolutely nothing to do with what is gone over in class. Very few people pass.
Difficult to understand because of strong accent, concepts are very hard to follow, and he is not accessible for clarification. Tests impossible to study for, because he provides us a lot of irrelevant information. HOWEVER, you will pass this class with a C or better even if you failed his quizzes and tests.
Prof. Febres is a wonderful teacher. If you pay attention to his class then you should receive an A or B. Take home tests, quizzes and a project. I didn't have a problem. Yes, he has a strong accent, but listen closely and you should understand. He is very understanding and is willing to work with you. Great class! Student G.
A slow-talker who pronounces things wrong. First half of semester was writer's cramp, but the second half he gave printed notes. Fairly easy, although may mark your answers wrong on tests when you're positive they're right and he will probably ignore you if you bring it up. If you take a 2hr 45min class with him, get comfy! You ain't goin' nowhere!

Never really goes over material in class if you did not understand it. He will ask you to wait after class. But does he really consider the fact that many of the material requires to be understood before proceding? Doesnt seem like he does.If you are not satisfied with his teaching,he will not try to change his ways,& will feel irritated if told to

Class for someone who's self motivated. The professor is kind of hard to understand. I recomend printing the powerpoint before coming to class. Tests are not easy, but are all open book. Took it during the summer and only 4 tests, one presentation, and final. I felt frustrated because powerpoint is on subject, but the test is all about the book.
You're basically on your own. You really have to indulge in the book in order to pass the class. He really is no help and biology itself is super complicated. He does have a thick accent and seems bored teaching the class. Good luck if you take him. I wouldn't take him again, ever.

You can't understand a word he says, lazy, can't explain what he's trying to say. When you ask him a question he ignores you because he's daydreaming. I ended up dropping because I studied the chapters listed on the syllabus and failed 2 tests because his syllabus was from Fall 05/Spring 06! The chapters went with a book from 2 years ago! STAY AWAY

His disinterest in teaching comes through in every lecture. He simply reads PowerPoints adding little value to the learning experience. A complete waste of my time and money. Although attendence was mandatory, I could have gotten the same education by just reading the book at home. He should reconsider his decision to teach at this level.
Test and quizzes were very hard for me, even if I studied. Barely any homework which s good for the workload but its hard to raise your grade. I didn't really learn much from this class but i would say he was a terrible teacher, just depends on how good you do on test. Good thing was that you don't have to come to class for exams!
This is the worst teacher I've ever had. If you are looking to actually learn anything, don't take him. His tests are extremely hard and even you study,you still can't pass. In my class the student with the highest grade got a 79. I found his class to be a HUGE waste of my time and my money. I learned nothing and he made it painfully boring
Professor Febres was terrible to me. At first I thought he was kinda witty and that I might actully enjoy the class. His lectures are very long and very dull. Him and I ended up butting heads and he told me to withdrawl while I had a B in the class. Teachers are supposed to encourage you rather then tell you to quit. He made the class stressful.
He was overall very mediocre. Not bad, but nothing amazing. All of the labs and quizzes are done through web CT, and he has all his notes (which are poorly done powerpoints) posted there as well. He says that you can get through the class without the book, but I still used it a lot. YMMV. OK if you already know bio, but not the best if you don't.
If you want to pass this class, then you must study. She will help you as much as you need. Also offers extra credit. Great Teacher, wish she taught other courses that I need.
I am a student in his middle school class. He teaches full time at Conway Middle School. He is the worst teacher I have ever had. Can't understand him and does nothing to keep the class attention. I don't understand why he still able to teach. If Obama is right he would lose his job due to his poor teaching ability.

Terrible Teacher! The class itself is pretty easy, with online quizzes and tests that are open-book. This guy has to be one of the laziest professors I've ever come across. Looks like our projects will be teaching us this semester, not him. Good luck getting him to email you back. I'd never take him again for anything.
Foreigner, has an thick accent. If you are a biology major or are really interested in learning, don't pick him. You won't learn anything. If you are required to take a biology, but don't care, then take him. Open book tests, let's you out of class early, all test are on webct, easiest "A" I ever got, and to this day I have never understood him.
I hated bio before this class. lectures frm p.points that follow the flow of the book. class attendance isn't mandatory but lab attendance is. offers ext credit on tests and even though his lectures are really boring he tried to make them really fun. he is very knowledgeble in the subject. wuld recommend takin his class if u can get over his accent
This prof is TERRIBLE. You can't understand him at all. His tests are hard and all over the place. You have to memorize his notes (powerpoint), his lecture, and the book, and he'll still put questions there that arent anywhere. He can't spell at all. Even his at-home quizzes are hard to get more than 60% because they're so vague & unclear or wrong.
Those of you who trash this professor or say you can't pass need to look at yourselves! If you read the material (not just lecture slides), and study, there's no way you can fail. He gives plenty of xtra credit. Granted, hes a bit unorganized which can be frustrating. His spelling is weak, but you know what he means. Overall, decent class.
This class is difficult, but not because of the professor. Extra credit was offered on EVERY exam. Labs were easy and syllabus was complete. If you study and read the book you will pass his class. Quizzes are untimed and able to make a 100% if you open your book.

I took bio 1010c with professor Febres. He knows his stuff, there is no doubting that, but he isn't a great teacher. His class is VERY difficult for intro class. Be prepared to study alot. I had gotten a B, but others that studied with me received C's and many even failed. Be prepared to teach yourself Biology. I'd say go with someone else.
TERRIBLE teacher! He knows his stuff, but is awful at teaching it. He's also horrible at communication (didn't answer 3 of my emails throughout the course, after saying he always would), organization (showed up almost 2 hours late to final exam because he put it in his planner wrong), and is hard to understand during lectures.
good teacher, he teaches the course at lake nonoa high school and most the students are whiny high school kids, the bad ratings come from them not knowing what a collage course should be like,plenty of extra credit and I got an A with no problem, about half the class was constantly complaining because the never studied and did poorly
Please stay away from this professor, he is very unorganized and he never replies to any of his emails. He might know the subject very well but he doesn't teach anything, all he does is read off the slides nonstop. The class has no student interaction whatsoever and he doesn't do a good job at encouraging students to learn. I was very disappointed.

This Prof. sucks, he made us buy the new edition book and all of his test were from the old edition. just stands in front of class and reads the powerpoint which is from old edition. never answered email. Dont take him.
I found this professor to be fair. The class was hard but he made it interesting. If you study, go to class and follow his instructions you can get an "A".
I TOOK THIS COURSE ONLINE AND THE PROF. IS CLEAR ON WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO. THE PP SLIDES ARE VERY USEFUL AND AS WITH ANY TEXTBOOK YOU SHOULD READ (TO COMPREHEND) MORE THAN ONCE. THE FINAL ESSAY COVERED WHAT WAS TAUGHT, SO IF YOU PAY ATTENTION AND NOT CHEAT, YOU WILL BE FINE ON THE QUIZZES, EXAMS AND FINAL ESSAY. HE ANSWERED ALL OF MY EMAILS.

Chapters have a lot of info. Professor notes are very helpful. If you ask the professor he will direct you towards the main points that you need to study for each exam. Quizes and labs can be reviewed with peers since you have one week to complete them. Study in groups! He drops the two lowest grades from your quizes and labs. Final important

Professor likes went students read his notes or book before the class, he always asked is we understood. I study extra for this class and work in every single lab, i start terrible but finished an A because i really care and start group study with 2 peers. it was worth it. Ask explanation if u dont get it.

Here is my God honest opinion... Febres is a very wonderful teacher who actually enjoys teaching. Unfortunately his accent makes it frustrating to understand him. I'm a B student and got an A. His course grades are very disorganized, but thats because of all the extra credit assignments he gives. There are better professors but he does just fine.
This was truly one of the most confusing and unhelpful online classes I have ever taken part in. While the quizzes and tests were pretty simple his instruction for the course and pure laziness regarding supplying us with an updated syllabus resulted in stressful all-nighters completing work that shouldn't have been due yet. Clarification was bad!
Prof. Febres didn't seem to have much energy once he got to our evening course. He did not provide exam study guides in a timely manner, literally will give it to you hours before the exam. Exam's are excruciatingly painful, he doesn't write them himself. He does not issue homework, only labs and quizzes. EC will save your grade, DO IT!
You really have to study more for the class. For the online course, you cover about 3 chapters a week, and each chapter is really long. You get quizzed every week, and the quizzes are hard if you don't study. Plus, the quizzes are short, but cover a HUGE amount of what you read. Some questions weren't even about what we learned.
I got an A in this class but it was the hardest A I've ever fought for. DO NOT TAKE THE ONLINE CLASS. I love Biology and taken more advanced classes so please listen if you need a good grade in your sciences. His powerpoints don't cover what's on the quizzes and tests. His tests are vague and SUPER HARD. Take someone else, you'll get more out it.
I love biology and am majoring in Zoo Keeping (at another school). I absolutely hated this class. He has no structure to his lectures and jumps around topics, he isn't clear and cannot correctly formulate english sentences which makes it even more difficult to understand. The tests are hard and unclear, and he doesn't give answers after grading.
He is terrible. Just don't. My grade was 2 points away from an A and I asked him if there was anything I could do and he ignored me.

To get an A in this class, complete all quizzes and exams, which are open book. Complete all virtual labs, which are really cool. The class is fully online. There is no need to go on campus. Professor answer email fast.
What i like the most about this class was not having to go on campus to do the labs. They are virtual labs. Everything is explained step by step for which end up making sense. The last time I did labs in a lab setting I did not understand why I was doing what I was doing. I did my work to get a score and pass the class without understanding.
Easy fun class. It has virtual laboratories. For the first time I was able to understand the purpose of the laboratories.
Straight forward, with enough time to complete the exams. If you fall behind he allows for make ups a the end of the semester. That saved my grade.

This class was super easy online. Do all your assignments and youll be good. He lets you catch up at the end of the semester. (Dont wait last minute!)
Overall, he was a fairly easy professor. For his online biological sciences class, there was one online lab with a multiple choice quiz due every week and you can take it multiple times for an A. Every other week or so there are discussions that don't have word counts and are really easy. There are a few exams which are easy If you use your sources
4 exams (90 minutes to complete(50 questions)) final essay about evolution (1200 words) 7 quizzes (not long) 4 discussions, and labs plus lab quizzes. Every week you had to complete a lab+lab quiz, and quiz or test with the occasional discussion. Teacher was accessible through email.
This professor is awesome, I wish he would teach other biology courses because I would definitely take them. You will definitely need your textbook to complete the assignmenti. There are some discussion posts but they are pretty easy to answer. Mr. Febres is the best professor I have every had, he answers emails in a timely manner and he is caring.
The professor does not offer extra credit at the end of the semester but allows you to make up missed work. Makes sure students are doing well in class and sends out emails every week with a summary of what we are learning and if we need help, reach out. There are a couple of assignments due each week on Saturday, but its manageable.
From the emails he has sent he seems to genuinely are about biology. He gives great feedback to your work and is really nice. There is one 1,200 word essay at the end of the course but you have plenty of time to do it. Not much work at all. I liked how the work set up was Sunday-Saturday as opposed to my other classes Monday-Friday.
I loved Professor Febres. Very easy assignments, I love biology so maybe that's biased but the work is very simple. Exams, quizzes, discussion posts, and mastering assignments but all are fairly simple. He also accepts late work no penalty!! I could've done better in his class had I tried. Id take him again!

I loved taking this class, there is an average amount of work but what can you expect from a 4 credit class?! Way easier than Bio, keep up with ur labs and pearson hw and you'll do great. He wants you to succeed and is always communicating with the class. The class isn't proctored, and there is an essay for a final but its super easy, just yap.
Prof. Febres is great! He is reasonable, responsive, and a fair grader. However, there were many instances where we were given higher-level questions in Pearson's homework that had nothing to do with what we learned in the course/textbook - all of these are graded as well. Have a decent grasp of Biology before starting this course to be successful.
I would highly recommend this professor. He gives great feedback on assignments. He doesn't give out too much work. Usually, there is 1 lab and 1 classwork with an occasional exam and discussion post. This teacher is so nice that you won't regret taking the class.
