If anyone wants to take English 101,this teacher is so nice and helpful. Does give assignments every other week and makes you read, but just as a reminder, he is easy. Not to mention, he is so CUTE!

This is the instructor that you want to take. Every week he gives reading assignment and he will go through the reading on the next day. He is a great professor, young, and cute.

this is the best english teacher i have ever had. i hated english all my life, but he made english fun. the class is based on alot of discussion so read the require readings. there 3 papers and 2 in class essays but he gived you time to work on them. he id very down to earth and approachable. highly recomended

He's a young, fun, and strict teacher. Ask questions don't be afraid he won't necessarily pick on you. As long as you try in class and attempt to answer questions and just do the work the way he wants (which seriously isn't that much) you'll get a high grade. He's really lenient, especially towards girls. He's cute and he's a suit kind of guy ;P

Easy peasy. 3 essays and a final (in-class essay). Also, a couple of quizzes in the beginning based on reading. Just follow the prompt and you should get an A in the essays. You have to earn the grade though. Stop using "one" in 3rd person and ur promised an A.

He's pretty cute first of all, his classes are fun and interesting i looked forward to going. You have a lot of group and class discussions but no one judges and he loves to hear your opinion. The books we read were VERY interesting too and i hate reading! mid terms and finals were great you can use your books and notes. Do take him! :)

I hate writing essay's, but Jimenez works with his students by breaking down each paragraph for them by explaining the " triangle method". He is the most helpful english teacher that I have meet at elac. Jimenez likes to curse while he talks to the class which makes his class worth going too in itself. Excellent Professor. Gives amazing lectures that really help explain the reading material needed for writing essays. Offers one on one help with essay prompt questions. Class discussions are very interesting and easily understandable. Gives group assignments (in class). Extra credit offered at the end of semester (scavenger hunt).

He is absolutely awesome i am not a good writer and i still passed his class. He does pick weird topics for the essays and is really strict about papers being done on time. There is no rewrites or extra credit but if u need help he will definitely help you. I would definitely take him again

Love discussion and critical thinking? This class is for you. Don't expect Children's Lit to be a pansy class of just "story books." He employs Freudian principles, history & culture, and real world examples to discuss the readings. The topics are heavy, but the things you talk about really are brilliant and weighty. He is very open minded and his prompts are very interesting, they make you think about life in general. I took him for English 103 and Poetry, he inspired me more than any other professors combined. He grades a little tough, but its worth it. Take him, you wont regret it!! He is my fav prof of all time.

One of the best teachers ive ever had. Try not to be shy around him. He trys to make learning as fun as possible.

I took Prof. Jimenez's English class for 5 weeks and it was intense. there are lots of reading materials but all of it are interesting. he is kinda tough grader but if you work on your essays then you will not have problems. he is dedicated in teaching his class everything. he gives good feedback on your essay for you to improve in writing.

Such a funny, caring professor. Responds to questions quickly, makes his lectures detailed, and always cracks jokes. There are 3-4 essays for the class but if you ask for help, he gives really good feedback. though he's really strict about works cited and formatting, he's an easy essay grader. (textbook mandatory, but the book was $5 on Amazon)

ELAC is lucky to have Mr. Jimenez as a professor. Not only is he truly there to help you succeed, he is also a product of a community college. Having an instructor that also attended cc was inspiring to me because of how much he is helping his community through teaching. I would have taken all my English/humanity classes with him. Best teacher!!!

Discussions are easy and simple. His notes are very helpful for the study guides. The study guides are also helpful for the quizzes as the questions are coming straight from there. For midterm and finals questions are based from previous quizzes. Easy class and he is willing to help you. Would definitely take him again.

Super sweet teacher and very easy to talk to. There's a good amount of reading but it's always interesting so you won't get bored. His discussions are short and easy. There are 3 major essays to do but they aren't too hard.

Professor Jimenez is one of those professors who loves the subject he is teaching & it shows through his lectures & enthusiasm for the subject matter. He is clear on what is expected & if you are struggling he will happily help you. People on here who say his instructions arent clear & hard really are just wasting time & not putting in effort!

Took his short term class in Spring and was only 1 month. We did three essays. Super easy. Very professional and friendly. Make sure you do your essay because he does NOT accept late work

I took Professor Jimenez's class over the summer and he was the best! I loved his class. Trust me, I'm a lazy worker but his homework assignments and quizzes are VERY doable. Everything on the quizzes are also on the final!! If I can do it, so can you! He's also really nice so if you have questions about anything, don't be afraid to reach out!

Professor Jimenez really cares about student success. I really enjoyed the class and optional meetings. The material was fun and informative, he also provides you with the material that needs to be learned. You have to do your part as a student and read and complete the assignments. I would take his class again. He is very knowledgeable.

He was alright. Easy A as long as you complete all the work and follow his instructions carefully. Has a final research paper that I didn't even have to do to still get a solid A. One chapter a week, be sure to read carefully and look at his study guides (which are very helpful for the weekly quizzes). Make sure to submit all work on time!

Took him for 103 a couple years ago. He likes to joke around a lot from what I can remember. Doesnt feel like a professor. But hes really cool and chill. I tried my best in the class, but English is not my strongest subject so only got a 90%. His field trip was really fun, we went to little Tokyo and made us try Obanyaki. 1 of the best professors

Professor Jimenez is the most amazing professor Ive ever had. I took him for two classes in 2018. I hate school yet I actually enjoyed his class every time. He made his lectures very interesting and had a awesome sense of humor. I have now transferred from ELAC and still look back to what a great teacher he was. I wish I could take him again.

Took both humanities and English courses and would definitely recommend. Very engaged in student outcomes and makes extra effort to encourage and help when needed. Very explanatory and clear with assignments and takes time to answer questions.

Professor Jimenez is so far one of my favorite professors at ELAC, his lectures were wonderful and very unique, we had 3 essays in the semester along with additional assignments but essays were always given with time. The topic of each essay was also extremely interesting and was at times a little deep. I would recommend his class to everyone.

I look him during the summer, online. He was great! Not a lot of homework: Reading notes on textbook chapters, discussion post, and MCQ and FRQ questions. He uses those same questions for the mid-term and final. There is one 5-7 research paper but he is willing to host zoom meetings to help students. Very caring and does not accept late work.

Professor Jimenez is an example of the type of professor everyone wants to encounter in their educational career. He was so understanding of my medical situations at the time and always provided me assistance. Professor Jimenez has a specific teaching style, but if you engage with it, the class isn't too difficult. The lectures are helpful, and the textbook is useful. Using unstuck AI and staying on top of the work is key to success.

Easy A. Research paper was annoying, but i just don't like writing. Did his course in 8 weeks, super manageable (was kinda rough at times though). Gave me an extension on the paper when i asked bc my STEM finals were getting crazy. Posted lectures were usually pretty short- USE HIS STUDY GUIDES they were literally the quiz questions word for word

This class was not difficult, just be prepared to read the material, go over notes and participate in class, it's important to succeed in this class. There are three major essays throughout the semester, this is an English class therefore grammar, punctuation etc. matters. Overall, I really enjoyed this class, it was informative and insightful.
