It was such a fun class to take! He gives long and sometimes boring lectures because he would read from the screen, but other than that his assignments are always interesting and entertaining! If you go to his office hours he gives really good feedback and revises your final paper. He's not that hard of a grader and i got an A+ in his class!

My experience with Mr. Perez was through a Hybrid class. He's a good teacher. Respected him from day one. As long as you respond to discussion posts you get credit. There are two major papers and a bunch of small assignments. He is a good teacher who cares about his class. Don't skip class.

Mr Perez is honestly one of the best English teachers out there. He's new this year, but definitely becoming a favorite fast. I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to take another class with him!

I took the Hybrid English 101 class from him and i really enjoyed my experience in this class. He made me feel like my words actually mattered to the world versus the typical do work to receive credit mentality. He's is a down to earth guy who is extremely genuine and respectful.

I would take Mr. Pérez again. He is a great English teacher-gives clear directions and is fair in grading. Several short mini assignments and three medium papers. Really nice teacher and gives extra credit. Highly recommend.

He is a great teacher. He motivates and encourages his students. Only had 2 paper. Gives time to write and edit your essay. He is also understanding specially if you are non native speaker.

Professor P is honestly the greatest teacher I've ever had. His teaching style is amazing, loves pluralism and is a really chill laid back guy overall. He really made our class into a family, overall I highly highly recommend to take him for English 101 and any other classes he teaches!!!

Perez is an amazing professor. I would definitely take him again. Hardly any homework, but if there is you don't turn them in. I believe it's just to keep the students mind running. He's really flexible with due dates, BUT I wouldn't push it. Don't abuse his kindness. Show up to class everyday. He's very helpful and understands students very well.

Professor Perez is good instructor who gives you ample enough time to work and finish your major research paper. most of your class activities will berated to your Research paper in way or another. If you are actively involved and doing the required work it is quite easy to maintain an A. Perez offers plenty of extra credit opportunities!!!

He is a very considerate teacher. He really cares about the school and students and what he is teaching. he is passionate about it. He is chill and is a teacher who takes his job seriously. From all 201 classes, I think he goes into concepts and theories the more than others too even though it doesnt feel like that much work.

Mr. Perez gave great lectures. He will leave you curious and motivated at the end of most classes. At the very least, you should meet Mr. Perez before leaving the BC community. He is an ambassador of diversity.

Awesome teacher. Was the first teacher ever to make me feel comfortable enough to speak up in class and want to participate. I would take this class 10 more times as long as it's with Fernando!!!!

I am a returning student to BC after a couple of decades in the workforce. Being one of the older student, I did not feel alienated or left out in his class. Mr Perez is an easy going, approachable teacher. He provides plenty of time for you to complete your essays and projects. Most importantly, He does not require a text book. Love this class.

Fernando is as amazing as everyone says he is. Try to take one of his classes at some point. Super easy A. Just due the work and he will give you full credit (even on essays). We had a short written midterm, a longer literary analysis essay, and a group project for the final. He's such a cool dude, makes everyone feel comfortable.

Great teacher, I took him in my first quarter at Bellevue College back in the Fall of 2014 and it was actually his first quarter too. He only gave us 3 papers and 1 of them was a reflection paper.

Fernando is hands down one of the coolest guys ever. He cares a lot about what he preaches in class, and is more than willing to help you out as much as you need. We just had 3 major papers to write. One of the best teachers I have had! Care about students, if you got difficulties he's always there to help. We needed to buy a book but we barely used it. The workload is fair, 4 main papers in total. Learned a lot from him on current affairs, racial issues in particular. Attend his classes, do your work on time, then your grade should be fine!

Very easy to get an A in if you do all of your work. If you do your work and turn it in on time you will most likely get an A.

Loved his class! I said attendance is mandatory because you can't miss more than four classes, but he usually doesn't take attendance. He's super chill, funny, and glad to help with whatever you need. Stay on top of your work, but he's pretty chill with late work most of the time. Overall a great teacher, definitely cares about students and subject

I took a hybrid class with Perez, and there were times where I wouldn't see the point of going to the MW classes because he posts the agenda for each week on Canvas, letting us know what we missed. He gives us a lot of time to do essays and discussion posts, and he's an easy grader so as long as you do the work, this class should be an easy A.

It was really easy to earn an A in Fernandos hybrid class but he spent a majority of class time going over online assignments and class was let out early so often that I figured I would have gotten just as much out of his online class that I did out of the hybrid.

His class was fun but the only bad part was that it was 2 hours long. He is an amazing teacher and genuinely cares for his students and listens to each student's point of view. Very discussion heavy on Canvas, but if you do them, you'll ace the class.

Professor Pérez was a great English teacher! This ENGL&101 Class helped me feel more comfortable writing in Open-Form style. Pf. Pérez is a nice guy. Only negative is that he expects you to find everything on Canvas, but if you talk to him one on one, he'll guide you through and help you out (barely any points docked down for late work). Great dude

I took his English& 101 hybrid class and if you have the chance to take an online class with him, take it. The class was very easy, just make sure that you do the work and you'll pass. Late work assignments were graded with full points.

I took the online class. He made the writing subjects interesting like having to do an analysis of a funny E-harmony video or writing about code-switching. I liked how the smaller assignments helped prepare us for the major papers. Very little feedback but we had peer reviews and he answers emails. Easy grader.

Really good professor, replied to messages nicely and really quickly, only one big essay and then a 500 word personal narrative. If you do the work (which really isn't that much) you'll get an A. There's two huge extra credit assignments too, if you forget an assignment or two.

LOVE this online course and the professor's organization. The assignments were very clear and were purposeful. GREAT feedback was given back on essays and grading was fair. You read some articles and write and reply to LOTS of discussion posts. Assignments were pretty simple thought and required only mediocre effort.

I took English 101 online, and it was probably the easiest thing I have ever done. There is daily homework, but it doesn't matter how hard you try, I'm pretty sure he just gives 100% on everything. He gave extra credit, and I finished with a 101%. He gives great feedback on essays. Take him for an easy A.

Seemed to give you full credit on every assignment as long as you just tried and turned it in. Had an extra credit opportunity regardless. Assignments were almost always turned in through discussion posts and usually included having to reply to multiple other posts for full credit. He didn't comment much, if at all.

Great English pro I've ever had. I was taking his online eng101. He cares his student a lot and wants them to be successful in his class. Giving great feedback on assignments. I would definitely take his class again! He provides extra credit opportunities soI got over 100% at the end of the class.

The online version is the easiest thing ever. He gives 100% if you turn in the assignment and try at all. Some extra credit opportunities. 2 major essays that are kind of difficult but you should be fine.

I took ENGL101 online with Fernando and it was the best decision I've ever made. It may be overwhelming at first since the assignments were back to back but just plan out your week accordingly. We wrote two big essays and the rest were assignments. Overall, just put in the work and you'll get an A!

Fernando Perez is one of the best LA teacher's I have had! He's really nice and effectively teaches what we need to know in the class. The teaching is so thorough that all the assignments become a breeze. It's like an easy A that somehow got you to learn!

As long as you do your work then you'll get an A. He responds fast to emails. He gives good feedback on your essay telling you what you could do better on and what he liked about the essay. He gives a reasonable amount of homework. Not too little not too much. Overall I highly recommend this class :)

Easiest english class I have ever taken. All you need to do is submit assignments and he gives you 100. Only downside is that he gives 2-4 weekly assignments, but they are manageable.

Easy A this is a sign to take this class. The only thing I don't like is that he doesn't give feedback on anything only the 2 major essays. I don't even know if he actually checks your work because he gives everyone an A on the assignments.

Great Professor. He is very understanding and aware of whats going on in the world. In the beginning of the quarter many political issues were happening and he was understanding of others state of mind and allowed more time on assignments. I also went on vacation and he allowed me more time if needed!

SO EASY! Such an easy grader and you get 100% on everything just for turning things in on time. However, I really didn't learn anything. If you are just looking to get your English 101 requirement out of the way then this is your class. Took this class in Fall 2020.

Awesome teacher! Easy A. You 3-4 discussion posts every week and two major essays. Just do the work and you'll receive a guaranteed A. He is also very understanding if you need to turn something in late. Just email him. Some discussion posts are actually really fun! You'll receive a lot of feedback from classmates.

He was a great professor! There was daily assignments that you had to respond to in essay format. Formatting was extremely important but if you do your work you get an A!

Mr. Perez is a funny guy. Very easy grader and gives good feedback. but there are SO. MANY. DISCUSSION. POSTS. There is one for every assignment. 3 big "essays" and a ton of mini ones. Doesn't do office hours but can contact via email. Solid teacher and would take again.

Absolutely adored how organized Perez was throughout the entire quarter I had him; Rarely felt confused or behind. Workload was fairly moderate. Although, the only thing was that he barely provided constructive feedback.

I took the asynch ENGL&101 class. It was very easy, and there were usually 2-4 simple assignments per week. There were a few essays but they were all personal narrative related, so they were easy. There are also two reflections, one halfway through the quarter and one at the end which just asked how you felt you were meeting course objectives.

The class was a good introduction to college writing. Mr. Perez was very organized, set clear expectations, graded quickly, and answered any questions. The class was easy, includes a lot of analysis, two essays, two reflections, and peer review. Mr. Perez doesn't provide feedback except on essays. Easy A as long as you turn in your work on time.

Very easy class to take. Assignments were a bit repetitive but it was no issue. As long as you did somewhat the assignment asked you would get an A. Not the most exciting class but it makes up for its ease.

Excellent professor that was very organized. If you do the work and follow his instructions, you will do great. Clear expectations and only 4 major papers. 2 shorter essays and 2 longer ones (4 pages). There were smaller assignments that lead up to each paper but helped you understand each concept.

I wished all my courses were as good as his class was! He's very fair in his grades and seems really laid back. He's a bit harder to get ahold of, but it doesn't seem that he puts you to an unreasonable standard with assignments, so it evens out to be okay. He posts all assignments up front for the course as well. I enjoyed the material/experience!

Took Fall of 2021. Brings work back on time, organized, and responds quickly; if necessary, email them and allows extra time. Simply complete the work with the requirements, and you should get an A.

Pros: easy grader, reasonable workload, learned a good amount, and kind. Cons: None. If you want an A, take this class. If you want to learn, also take this class. This professor is really good.

Classwork seems daunting at first, but once started it was fairly easy. There were two big essays that we were given plenty of time to prepare for, and the final was thoroughly explained and easy, just time consuming because it's writing.

Perez is a pretty good teacher. For an English teacher, he's pretty laid back and the basis of his class is, "you can work at your own pace, just make sure you turn in the assignments on time." It's as low maintenance as it gets, so if you want to take an English class that you can work your schedule around, then this is what's best for you.

The modules were very straightforward. Each week, Professor Perez includes reading material and 1 or 2 assignments that prepare you for four major papers due throughout the quarter. There were no quizzes or exams, and he gave excellent feedback on every paper. He also offers multiple extra credit assignments. I highly recommend him.

The assignments in the modules were well organized, which helped me plan my time accordingly to complete them. Some of the assignments were quite difficult. Despite that, I was able to complete them OK. Whenever I did not understand the content of the assignments, Professor Perez provided some clarification, which I was able to comprehend clearly.

THE BEST PROFESSOR IN THE ENTIRE COLLEGE!! Everyone in my class was very old but he always welcomed me. Lots of work but everything is explained perfectly! TAKE HIM, U WON'T REGRET!! If you don't finish your work, he will always check on you and never rush things. He literally shortened the class by an hour and asks you to meditate before starting!

Trust me, this professor is the best person in the world. He shortens the class, makes you meditate during class and uses anecdotes. Very very welcoming and we had a lot of assignments but he will give you extra time if you ask for it. BEST PROFESSOR EVER! I LOVE HIMMM

This class was an easy "A" and the majority of the class time was spent completing assignments. Be prepared to share personal details about yourself and connect them to the concepts covered in group discussions. There were plenty of extra credit opportunities to boost your grade. If you participate on Canvas, you'll get an "A".

TAKE THIS CLASS!! Professor Fernando is by far my favorite teacher. His class is so easy, but you learn so much. I genuinely enjoyed doing the assignments.

He is a chill guy! Sometimes even letting us to leave the class 20 mins earlier. Homework are mostly discussion posts. Only 2 long essays and 2 short essays. As long as you meet the requirement, you will get an easy A. He also provided quite a few extra credits.

Best English class. Many assignments, but I learned various writing techniques. The instructor was organized and polite. Downsides: Most of the class time was used for completing assignments, which could be done at home, especially since attendance is mandatory. Feedback was limited unless you asked. Still, I'd gladly take the class again.

This professor is very good, HOWEVER: He tends to cancel class quite a bit, which is a little contradictory when he requires attendance. Halfway through the quarter he fell behind on grading and giving feedback, although ENGL247 is essentially a participation grade anyway. He was very entertaining though, and gave students class time for homework.

Normal grading at first at standard difficulty. Lagged behind in grading but ended up giving good feedback when he did and relaxed the grading standards. Would take again, pretty easy and the teacher was great.

Mr. Perez is a little strict with formatting but explains and gives good feedback. Follow instructions and you will get an A. He is awesome.

Mr. Perez genuinely changed my perspective on English! I learned so much. I got the inspo for my college essay from this course. It is pretty easy, you have around 4 papers for the whole course but trust me they are very easy to do. Highly highly suggest!
