Loved the class, didn't have to write any papers! There are 3 tests with 25 multiple choice questions. Has a review before, and you have to make a ton a vocabulary flashcards in order to do well. Classes consist of lectures and discussions. You can get extra credit if you have perfect attendence on the tests.

He was very interesting and asked very stimulating questions in class. Definitely worth taking him if you want to be better informed about politics in this country. I was a little skeptical about taking this class over the summer because I was nervous about there being a lot of reading, but he made it quite manageable. He always had interesting things to say & there's something about him when he smiles. He knows what he is talking about and he's not cocky about it. Would definitely take him for another course

I really enjoyed taking his course. I wish he taught more courses because we, the students, need more professors like Uribe. He takes the time to explain the material and encourages everyone to ask questions. I think he's the best on campus and if the Poli Sci Dept doesn't recognize this, well then, there's something seriously wrong with them.

Uribe is one of the best professors I've had at Montclair State. He is interesting and really gets the class involved during discussions. He should be teaching more courses because he's much better than anyone else in the department. I know a lot of students agree with me on that point. I'm lucky to have taken a course with him.

I really enjoyed Uribe's course. For a night class, he was able to keep my attention and granted, he's nice to look at anyway, but he really made the class different than other professors. We had discussions every class, which were really interesting He doesn't try to brainwash you like so many professors do with their left wing propaganda.

He should be teaching more courses unlike others in the department. The administration definitely dropped the ball on this one! He is informative, stimulating and knows his stuff. It also helps that he's nice to look at, so it makes taking him a plus. Have him teach more! I learned a lot and this was my 2nd class with him.

I learned so much about politics as a result of taking this class with Professor Uribe. He knows his stuff, speaks well, answers questions clearly and is extremely patient. I applaud him and the department should recognize his greatness. He should be teaching more courses. Attention Poli Sci Department...give him more courses! Wake up!

First of all, it was nice walking in the 1st day of class and seeing him standing in the front. It always helps to have eye candy as your professor, but he's also very informative too. I decided to change my major to Poli Sci because of him. He motivated me to be more involved in my community. I'm thankful for Fernando Uribe. MSU should be too!

He's remarkable and it's so cool about all the charity work he does. I really find his lectures and discussions informative. Politics can turn a lot of people off, but he keeps me interested. It's funny how many girls sweat him but he takes it in stride. He's cool and great to talk to. I was asking him about grad school and he was really helpful.

One of the best at MSU! He is very interesting and has very informative lectures. I learned a lot because of him. The workload is reasonable and I wish more professors were as understanding as him. I had issues with my work schedule and he understood that. I recommend him and the department should give him more classes.

Lectures were interesting and he doesn't indoctrinate you like other professors try on campus. Everyone knows professors are mostly liberal but he's very objective. He teaches and that's what matters. He's patient and knows how to moderate debates in class especially when students are discussing issues. It gets heated sometimes, but he knows how to get us thinking critically. Having him in the department is $ well spent and he should be teaching more courses. He's quite inspiring.

A great professor who made a night class very interesting. Not a lot of professors can do that, but he pulled it off. Only 1 book for the course, which helps $ wise and his lectures were really interesting. I took it as an elective, but I'm glad I took it with him. He motivated me to become more informed about what's going on. Also, I have to commend him for all the charity work he does. He's truly a wonderful educator. He should be teaching more courses! I highly recommend Professor Uribe. He's the best I've ever had. Really laid back and wants you to learn. He's really funny before class starts when he's talking about current events, sports or even pop culture. I appreciate him so much I had to take him more than once. This is a professor that really loves what he does. Yes, he is a bit self involved.. no really self involved. Wants his students involved. He tries to be funny.. often successful.. sometimes not. I would not say his class was easy. He assigns a very fair amount of work. I was not overwhelmed but I still had enough to keep me out of trouble.

This is a good professor for someone who needs this course. He assigned 3 papers, 5 pages double spaced on easy topics. 1 normal test and a midterm and final. He stands up there and states which terms to study for tests. Dropped a presentation for us and also gave us extra credit. Lectures are easy and you can do other work during class, take him.

While class itself is easy as long as you take notes (he just lectures), he lets his political beliefs come out and often turns the class into a debate, out-loud agreeing with some students and challenging those that he disagrees with, always people who make more liberal comments. He comes off as very arrogant to me, even though he is funny.

Great guy. His lectures can get kind of dry but he tells you exactly what you need to know for each exam and it's all straight from the book. 3 exams and 3 short papers the whole semester it's really a light class. He does not get overly political which I admired, and he's very open to opinions from students of both parties during class discussions

Professor Uribe is a very educated and well rounded man, however classes are sort of a drag since they are purely lecture. His lectures include no power point or even notes on the board, so listening is key. He only gives 3 papers and 3 tests, so the workload is light. Be prepared to listen is the best advice I can give.
