You have to study physics. She is a good professor. If you are nice and do everything right, then you have earned your A just like other classes. Book is a rip off but you have to buy it I'm sorry. Labs are boring just like any science lab, but if you do it right and finish it that's all that counts and the good thing is that she doesn't yell atall
Professor Bekisli is a wonderful professor. Anytime i needed help she would provide a time for me to go see her and work on any problems i had issues with. This is not an easy course and you will have no life, but it is so worth it in the end. Just remember to stick with it.
Good luck everyone on Wednesday. I pray she will curve at least 20 points because these questions are not easy. Even if she give us the same review as the test I still miss the questions again, & again, & again. I don't know what to do. My notes are everywhere. I practice the sandwich problem, the thickness one, the mlamdad problems. I don't know.
She teaches from a powerpoint & does a ton of example problems repeatedly until you understand the material. Course work includes: hmwk, quizzes, labs, tests. If you pay attention & take notes then you should make a decent grade. Physics isn't an easy subject & will require alot of studying. She gives partial credit if you show your work. TAKE HER!
First of all, physics is not an easy class. Dr. Bekisli is one of the most helpful professors I have ever seen and will work very hard to make the subject clear. She solves many questions in class and in review sessions before the exams. Exams and grading are fair. She cares a lot about her students, always available for help.
She is very good! Just does not like to give good grade. But I want to get a physics degree so I have no choice but learn.
She really is the best teacher. Do NOT memorize problems. Learn the concept. She wants you to know how to apply physics not memorize and flush away what you learn. I really enjoy this class a lot and from experience I learned how to study for the second exam and not memorize without knowing why I am taking vector components and sine and cosine.
I am new to this rate my professor, I don't understand these comments, Dr. Bekisli is a good teacher! I learned these thumb rules and I can solve any magnet problem now. If you take her class, you will learn physics the real way, because her problems make you think. It's not like here is the formula and solve. But only take if you want to learn it.
I highly recommend this class if you have to take Phys 1! She is an amazing teacher. Expect homework each week but they help you on the exams. The lectures are long but she does many examples that are similar to what will be in exams. If you don't understand the subject go to her because she explains it to you very well. TAKE HER!TRUST ME!!!!
Dr.B is great! This is my second time taking 1402 and there really is a big difference. She solves lots of questions and makes it easy to learn. You would know what to expect in the exams. Study regularly for the quizzes. Exam questions are similar to HW assignments and stuff shown in the class. Just review them and you'll be fine.
Her labs suck so bad, she says they're easy and that may be the case for her but they are so confusing and just a waste of time. I feel I didn't learn anything from her labs. Overall she's good. Quiz after almost every chapter. HW is not graded but on the test she uses similar problems. Test also includes examples from lecture and conceptual ques.
Expect quizzes, homework and labs- lots of stuff. But what is expected from you is very clear from the start. To get a good grade, attend her classes and review the example problems from slides and homework even if she does not grade them. Overall, she is really a very good professor and you will see you learn a lot during the semester.
Professor Figen is the best, physics is a hard subject but she makes it easy. She would do many in class problems until you get the topic. Her lectures are long but they are very helpful. She wants you to understand the topic and answers any questions that a student has. Do homework and in class problems and you will make an easy A. Just take her!
Professor Bekisli is awesome. She does many in class problems and assigns homework problems too. The homework is not for grade, it's just to help you understand the topic. She would even post the solutions. Lectures are very long and boring but well it's physics what do you expect. The only problem with her is that she doesn't give extra credit.
her lectures are clear and she specifically tells you how and what to study to get a good grade! physics is hard and you need to do the homework to understand the subject. If you go to the lectures , listen to her and do the hw, you will get and A. she is very understanding and caring about her students. I am going to take 1402 with her and ace it.
The professor was unclear and lectures were confusing. Too much work and energy spent for a worthless grade.
She is an amazing professor and she makes a very difficult subject crystal clear. I would never imagine I could be successful in Physics. Follow her directions and do the homework even if they are not graded.
Here is your ultimate tip to get an A from her classes: spend some time on the homework assignments regularly even if they are not graded. She is very very helpful if you can not figure them out. Office hours are useful. Final grade mostly comes from quiz and exams which are almost the same as homework assignments and examples on class notes.
I took Phys 1&2 from Dr. Bekisli and I can say it without any doubt that she is by far the best professor Lonestar has in Physics department. She is always willing to help you and she really cares about you. She makes the subject crystal clear. I was bad at physics but after taking her classes I have become really good at it. Do hw & ex. problems!
If you'd like to enjoy a physics class, I recommend her. She is real fun. Phys1402 is not an easy class but her class notes and many example problems help a lot. Even if the homeworks are not mandatory, I recommend looking at those for quizzes and exams.
Here's how to get an easy A. Homework is not mandatory but it is almost exactly like the quizes. If you do them right then the quizes should be easy. If you miss a day of class then you miss out on a lot of valuable information. If you're bad at math then you will struggle with any physics class
Dr. B is a great professor I took her for Phys 1&2. She makes It so easy as long as you show up to class and do the homework you're good. Homework is not mandatory, you don't need the book, there are quizzes, 4 exams and labs are easy AF. She drops the lowest grades from each. What more can you ask for?!
DrBekisli by far is the most respected professor I've had. If you want an easy A in her class, never skip, not even one day. She drops one for each category, for example, lowest quiz/test. Her teaching is very clear and unless you don't pay attention or study, you've got no excuse to make an A!
Believe it or not - she made physics CRYSTAL clear. Never in my life have I enjoyed physics until I took her. It is important to attend the lectures. If you miss one, you feel lost on the next lecture. Amazing prof! Best one I have had in Lone Star College.
The best professor I ever had. She is so easy going. If you don't understand she will stop and explain it again. Clear grading criteria l. Do spend time on homework and reviews and in class examples. Allmost all exams and quizzes are from that stuff only. Easy A class. I was never interested in physics but now I am thinking to change my major.
Not good for those without a physics background. You will be among those repeating the class. Our class was filled with engineer majors who were afraid of university physics. No physics class is "easy". I wish she used the book more often.
Dr. B is an amazing professor! She explains everything throughly and if you have any concerns she'll make sure you understand the material before you leave class. She gives many examples during class which she would use on the quizzes/test but with different numbers. So try not to miss any classes. Labs are easy.
great prof. Study her note slides and you have the test under control
Dr Bekisli wants you to succeed, and will try her best to make physics crystal clear to you. She drops the lowest grade in each category(quizzes, labs, even exams) which makes it EXTREMELY easy to make an A if you work for it or if you happen to mess up once. Books are not required. Just focus on the hw(not-required) and the test will be similar.
Professor B is, in my opinion, one of the most prized physics teachers in all the Lone Star Community. She absolutely cares about you learning the material. Now physics is not an easy class; but she teaches in a way that allows for clear insight into the content. Do not skip class; participate, due home-work, and get an A.
Dr B is hot and bright. She teaches well and really talks to the class
Dr. B is a great professor! She makes a difficult subject easy to understand. If at any time you don't understand something she will stop and explain it again. If you need extra help she is easy to access out of class. Do spend time on the homework, reviews, and in class examples. Most of the tests and quizzes are from that stuff only. Take her!
This is a tough class, but Dr. B made it so much easier to understand! Her exams are very easy if you attend classes, take lots of notes, and do homework as they are so similar. She only tests you on what she teaches, so no curve balls! She is always willing to help you. Dr. B is one of the best professors i've had, and I highly recommend her!
I took PHYS2425 before and made a C wanted a higher grade, I was scared to took her because she hadnt teach PHYS2425 before this semester and man did I make a mistake. I dont like the way she teaches, lectures are all over the place, labs are hard, exams are very test heavy and she doesn't even curve! I cant believe I got a lower grade than before.
She is the best professor. Remember this is Physics, you have to study. And she makes you study. But she makes everything very clear and easy to understand. Just participate in the class, do the homework and ask her when you cant solve the questions. She is always there for you.
She makes a very difficult class super easy. Tons of examples solved in class. Just be sure to go over these examples and homework problems before quizzes and exams. They are quite easy if you do. Very popular and crowded office hours because she cares about her students.
I took 2425 from Dr.B and she is a great professor. The class is a difficult one but you'll be fine if you just attend to the classes, follow the notes and do the homework. Exams are not hard if you do. She is very clear at what she expects. Don't be discouraged if the subject looks hard in the beginning because she'll make it very easy for you.
she does not know how to teach. she has a very heavy accent. Do not take her
Professor Bekisli isn't all that bad, she knows what she is talking about and will explain it to you, but for me the biggest thing was that she has an accent that makes it a bit harder to understand her perfectly clearly, and she tends to write small all over the white board.
Keywords to get a good grade from her class: classroom material, homework and office hours. Use the office hours and make sure you can solve all the homework questions. She is always very helpful and she genuinely cares about her students. Take her!
Super professor! She is very knowledgeable with her stuff and her class is well organized. I recommend her whether you like or hate Physics because she'll make you love it!
Dr. B --very smart lady! she teaches step by step how to solve example problems and classwork. You can not afford to miss class. She makes herself available to the students to answer questions. quizzes and exams come from class material -- you have to study for an A -- not an easy class -- would take the same prof. again
Very difficult class, she writes very fast on the board, exams require a lot of thinking, dont take her!
Most fun classes you can find in a physics course. She is the nicest professor and is very helpful. I would take her again if I had the opportunity. Strongly recommend.
This is not a difficult class but it is still Physics. If you want a good grade, dont miss any classes and study the example problems. She is very helpful. Use the office hours. But dont expect it to be an easy A with no effort.
The good point is that you don't need a textbook because everything in exam is from her lesson and homework ppt slides . However, you are likely not to pass the class with an A if you miss more than one class because she is a tough grader. She cares a lot for your performance. If only she could make joke.
Professor Bekisli is a great Physics professor because she explains the material in a variety of ways to accommodate every student. I had to miss a week of class because of my participation in National Model United Nations but she worked with me to make sure I was caught up. Study the material and pay attention in class and you will be fine!
Professor B is amazing. All of her lectures and homeworks are on the D2L, so technically you don't necessarily need the textbook. If you are going to take her class then print the lectures, its worth it! Before every test go over ALL lecture problems and homework problems, this will get you an A!!! MAKE SURE YOU KNOW ALL OF YOUR UNITS!
Dr. B. is the best. If you have problems with physics, she may be your only chance to understand the subject. You'll realize how things start to make sense even in day 1. Highly recommended to everyone!
She is a good professor! However shes not the best in my opinion. What might trip you up is when she talks at very high speeds with a neagative leaning attitude when you ask questions. The class itself isnt hard but be carful if you take it in the summer you might get a B instead of an A. Barely any extra credit and very picky with little things.
Dr. B overall in my opinion is pretty good at explaining the materials. She goes really fast sometimes but I think its only because it was a summer class. Beware that she seems really judgemental when u ask questions so... Anyways, pretty easy A for a physics class in my opinion if u study her lectures and pay attention in class for exams!
In my opinion, this class was extremely easy if you just go to class, redo her problems, and do the homework problems. Know how to do the problems she works should guarantee you an EASY A. Be careful with units. When you ask her questions, she responds with a bit of attitude. She is also a fair grader. Sit in the front, she writes small. TAKE HER!!
Dr. B is the best! She can be a little sarcastic/snappy when asked a question so BE CAREFUL! She goes over everything into full detail so if you struggle with math--she is your best bet. She CARES and appreciates class participation during lecture and grades extremely fair; be sure to show ALL OF YOUR WORK and DONT FORGET UNITS--Easy A!
I took her class in the summer. I learned that you will see the same problems she covers in class again so MAKE SURE YOU STUDY THOSE in order to prepare for quizzes and test. She is a fair grader and does not want you to fail as long as you come to class, and make an effort to understand the course material
I took 2425 from her as well and I recommend everybody to take these two classes from her. 2426 is a tough class and she makes you work for it. But it is organized so well that it is not very difficult to make a good grade. Exam questions are pretty much the same as the class examples and homework questions. Lots of homework but they are not graded
2426 is a difficult class and no professor can make it very easy. Dr.B is your best option though. Homework questions are not graded but try to do all of them because quiz and exam questions would be similar. Also review the class notes and youll be fine. She is very helpful and use office hours.
If you ever wanted to do hallucigenics or wondered if you can smell colors then this is the class to take. By the time you're done with this course you'll be tasting rainbows and walking on clouds looking up at the heavens and trying to find the truth in what the hell just happened. May the odds be eva in your favor.#Survivalofthefittest
I'll tell y'all one thing: if you have to take this class, she is your best option. Fabulous professor who makes a difficult class very easy. Yeah, you gotta study to get an A but you'll know what to study at least. She organizes the stuff very well and makes it clear what is important for the exams.
Lots and lots of things are covered in this class. Be ready to study for sure. Prof. B. is very good though. She knows her stuff well and she also knows when students don't get the subject. I like the way she tries to make sure nothing is passed before everything is clear to all.
highly recommend taking her class, I took physics 2426 in spring 2019, I did not work hard in her class cause just needed a C to transfer to the uni. I did very bad on the first two exams and she did curve a lot.
The class is easy but you do not learn much. Boring lectures.
Dr.B. is awesome!
She teaches a very fast paced class and the subject is difficult. But follow her tips and it will be as easy as can be. Overall, I think she is very good.
She might be the best professor I have ever taken. She takes good care of her students and spends as much time as necessary to make sure you understand the subject. Office hours are very important for this class, utilize them. I strongly recommend her if you have to take physics at any level.
you'll have to review course material frequently to get a good grade from this class but it is very organized. you know what to study and where the exam questions will come from. extra credits in form of lowest score exam being dropped.
I dont understand why she has such high rating on this page but she was a horrible teacher, she just lectures on and on. She does not stop, very messy hand writing, very un-organized. You dont learn bc she everything herself. Class is so boring. I hated every moment. Her reviews are nothing like the test and she give to many diff. examples.
A very good choice if you have to take this class. She is very approachable and will take her time to explain things after class if you are stuck on something. There are exams, labs, quizzes, homework and definitely lots of studying involved. But at least her expectations are clear and you don't find much surprise at the exams.
She is very nice! I took 1401 and 1402 from her and she made those exams very straightforward each semester! Sometimes it gets a little tricky but VERY similar compare to the problems from review, hw and slides (most of the times they are the same). Take her, she is awesome!!
She is great. I wish I took her 2425 too.
She is hard but very good. If you are willing to study TAKE HER!
Dr. B is so nice. I went to every office hours and she was always very nice and ready to help.
If you haven't taken physics classes and forgot everything you have studied before then this is the class for you, she goes into detail and everything makes sense.
She is awesome. I will take her again and again. It is a lot of studying but she will make it easy .
Prof. B is always available to help and her organized way of teaching makes even physics easy to understand. You can see how she cares about her students. Strongly recommended to everyone. If you have struggled in physics before, she may be your best chance.
Professor B Is a tough grader, she will teach you & expect you to learn it instantly. She is really smart & will help you, but her accent will make it somehow difficult. There are times where she will explain a lesson but you won't understand a thing from it. When it comes to testing, she is a little extra. She wants everything organized &welldone
Professor B is amazing and you learn a lot in her class. I liked how everything was well structured from the start. You know what to study and where to find help when needed. Lots of things to study for sure though. She is your best bet for any physics class.
I am so glad I took her class during the COVID lockdown. She is extremely helpful and accessible in any situation. Super fast respond times when you have a question or need help. Thank you Dr. B!
She is very cool and helpful. I learned a lot in her class. She is also very caring.
I enjoyed her classes a lot and recommend them to everyone. She is an outstanding professor who cares about her students a lot. Thank you Dr. Bekisli, you rock!
Thank you Dr. B for being a great professor. I understand a lot in your class.
It is crazy how most of the comments are really positive if you take close attention I'm pretty sure she is the one making these comments because her class is not easy nor she knows how to explain. During COVID we had online classes, & if she's not good in person imagine online? yeah don't take her class, PLUS her handwriting SUCKS!
I cant believe there are negative ratings even for her. She is super nice and always there for you. Difficult class, lots of studying but the best professor!
Dont I repeat dont. She goes super fast with her lectures and is very hard to understand. Im not sure why theres so many good ratings when shes probably the worst professor Ive had. Dont get me wrong shes super nice, its just her teaching style lacks interest. I dreaded going to her class because it was just so boring.
Lots to cover and for sure a difficult class. Trick to get an A is to be as organized as she lectures. There is a very clear structure to the lectures and to the exams. Quizzes, class notes, homework, labs all make the route to the exams and you don't really get any surprises at the end. She will teach you Physics very well if you are up to it.
We had to switch to online when the pandemic happened in the middle of the semester and she did a great job with the quick transition. In general lecture videos felt like the same as in the classroom and all of the material was available online. She was also very quick to respond when you have a question. I wish we could have real labs though.
summer: the class is easy with 5 quizzes, 9 labs & 3 test every week & final, drops lowest grade. tests are easy &can be found online, quizzes have 4 questions in 25 min (not online). I dont like the way she taught at all. she was very confusing, but you-tube & my background knowledge in physics helped a ton. she made simple things so complicated,
She records the lecture videos and makes it available to watch anytime you like. Overall quality was very good for an online class. We even did a few virtual office hour sessions, very helpful. No surprises on the exams too. Studying in an online setting takes some getting used to though. She may be the best choice for that transition.
Online summer class goes so fast and there are way too many things to study. But Prof. B is really a great professor to help you out. Besides the office hours, she arranges online meetings to go over your questions. She prepares short solution videos just for you! Extremely fast in responding to your emails too. I would recommend her to all.
Every detail in her lecture videos and notes shows up in the exams. Take good notes and you will be fine. Exam and quiz questions are just variations of the class and homework examples. Easy A if you invest some time in it. Good professor, take her!
I took 1401 and 1402 classes over summer from her. It was very fast pace but I managed it fine. She is very organized and answered e-mails very fast. I wish she could give extra credits but overall I really enjoyed the classes.
Take good notes. Exam questions are homework examples. She Prepares solution videos . She returns emails very fast .Her lecture is very explaining and easy to understand. I would love to choose another lesson of her again .
I took the online version and found everything very easy to follow. She follows a schedule of events from first day all the way to the end of the semester. What will happen each week is always clear. Lots of videos to watch and things to study but for an online Physics class, it is understandable. Good professor to take.
Umm, I would not take this professor. There is a language barrier, does not offer extra credit, will help if you ask but seem to be annoyed when you ask multiple questions. Does not provide examples of tested material. Pass if you have a choice and save your GPA.
Dr.B is very strict with her rules set at the beginning but everything was so clear and organized. It was very easy for me to understand and follow what was expected from the class. She is not very easy but I think she is extremely fair and helpful when you struggle.
I dont think online learning is the best fit to me but we are in a pandemic so not too many choices really. If you are like me, I recommend her especially for her accessibility. I communicated with her almost in a daily basis and she was very helpful. She does video calls to review material face to face and replies to your emails super fast.
1402 was a difficult class for sure and if you plan to take it from Prof Bekisli, be prepared for lots of studying. Almost every week youll need to deal with something, a quiz, a lab report or an exam. But on the positive side, the flow of the class is well designed and you understand the toughest topics crystal clear. She is super helpful.
Dr. B is honestly the sweetest professor I've ever had! She's very knowledgeable about her subject and emails back very quickly. Ask her for help if you're confused and she will help you for sure! I would highly recommend asking questions because she will absolutely want to help you! I really dislike physics but I'd take more if she was teaching!
That's enough brain damage for one semester. I need to regroup after all the long lectures. I earned a solid B in her University Physics class but she won't negotiate for an A even if you average an 89.8. Options are limited these days, good luck.
I would say this class was pretty chill. I didn't have much due each week. If I would've tried harder, I for sure would have gotten an A in the class but I was just so busy with my other classes. I ended up with an 89 and she didn't bump me so kind of mad. The labs are easy, tests and quizzes are not on lockdown browser. Take it!
Not helpful at all in the switch to online. No extra credit, all multiple choice tests, and every problem is worth the same amount of points, not matter how long. Lectures are repetitive and some are up to 7 hours long. Would not recommend this class.
Instead of actually working out problems in her videos she would only show her awful hand written notes and explain the same concept five different ways which only made things more confusing. Her accent was hard to understand, and her teaching style was all over the place. She also gives no partial or extra credit. Terrible!
I truly believe Prof. Bekisli is a great professor. She cares about and helps her students. She was very instrumental for me to move to my next step, that is the medical school. I am grateful for everything she did for me.
She's super fair. No extra credits but drop the lowest grade quiz and exam (except final). Her response was quick. She helps students significantly. Her video and notes involve everything and more. It may look very heavy, but it was necessary and enough because PHYS 2425 is tough. If I took other class, I must have lost credits. Thanks, Dr. B.
The best thing about this class is that you know what to expect in the exams. There is definitely a lot of material to study but easy A. You just need to go over class and homework examples.
The professor has an accent that is hard to understand sometimes but her organization is very very good. She also explains as well as she organizes. She is one of the best professors I have had and that includes my university professors. You will have to work for your grade. You have to study hard and a lot. She replies to emails like lightning.
She is very organized but very strict with her rules. If you are ready to study and learn, take her. I used her online office hours very often, she helped me lot. Excellent professor!
This review is for the online version. Homework is not graded but questions appear in exams. Quizzes are sometimes difficult but give you an idea of upcoming exam. Professor drops the lowest grades of exams and labs but does not give you extra credits or any other flexibility. Be aware! Quality of the lectures is very good if you are there to learn
I took Prof B twice, one time face-to-face and one time online. I really like the face to face version better. Maybe I am not a fan of online classes in general. But even with the online class, she is doing her best to respond to students super fast . She has also given me recommendation letters for medical school applications. I am very grateful.
Terrible professor, I take my grades seriously and work hard but I still ended up with a B in her class. She takes weeks to get lab grades in and doesn't give any feedback. I am good at math but I ran out of time on every quiz and most of the tests. She has a strong accent and it can be very difficult sometimes and her notes are very disorganized.
I wish the quizzes were longer. There are only four questions and you lose quite a bit of a grade once you miss even one question. But other than that I found this class very fun and easy to learn. I liked the simulations a lot and I still play with them outside of the class. Prof is very helpful and she definitely cares about you. Grading is fair
She has a strong accent which makes it hard to understand during her lecture videos. Does not provide any extra credit and doesn't give enough time during the quizzes. Quizzes only have 4 questions so its hard to score a good grade when you're running out of time. I had to guess on the last question of the quiz because I had no time to work it out.
Videos are overexplained and not really help. Homework is too messy. Time for quizzes is too short. Labs are not graded on time and no feedback. Physics II is already hard, but she is not willing to put in some effort with some extra credits. She shows herself to be strict, but she is not supportive either. The most careless professor I ever had
A lot of things to study but everything makes sense at the end. Prof B is a great teacher and a great person. You will need to put some time to get an A but it is straightforward once you do.
I had to study for this class but it is worth it. I learned a lot. I wish I used office hours more because she was very helpful. There are many simulations lab and she has even small videos for those. Dr. B is a perfect choice for this class.
I loved her when I took physics 2425 class in person, but I didn't like taking phys2426 online because her lecture were too long, homeworks are messy, quizzes are short timed and only 4 questions on each quiz, if you missed one you miss 25 points, she doesn't give any extra credit, she is kind of rude when you ask her question
This is a good Physics class. Just make sure you understand her grading style from the beginning because shed be very strict at the end. She drops the lowest of exams, quizzes and labs, otherwise no flexibility. Go over the class examples before the exams and youll be fine. Labs are a little boring but also easy. Easy A with moderate effort.
Took professor B for 2425 and 2426. The lectures on her videos are very detailed and thorough. I always liked physics but she made it better and way easier.
I took online PHYS1402. If you need examples to be done as you learn the material do not take her online, take someone else or take her in-person. Office hours by appointment. Very organized and follows the syllabus so you can plan the semester. There were 3 tests, 6 quizzes, 10 labs, and the final, with the lowest test, lab, and quiz dropped.
Get ready for studying a lot if you plan to take this class and get an A. Very organized notes and lectures make the class somewhat easier but this is still physics. Lots of homework need to be studied even though they are not graded. You may find the same questions in the exams. Lowest grades dropped but that is the only flexibility in grading.
Took professor Bekisli's class for 2425 and 2426. The lectures she gave was very detailed and understandable.
I struggled so much with physics in high school and but she made it a piece of cake and made me love this subject. Such an awesome professor!
She is a great professor but more importantly she was a great advisor for me. I am so grateful for everything she has done to prepare me for the next step from recommendation letters to academic advise. Thank you very much and I recommend her classes to everyone who cares about their education.
This is a high quality class and she is an awesome professor! It was the best Physics class I have ever taken and it was the I have learnt the most. Videos are a little too many but very easy to follow. Tests are mostly same questions from videos and homework.
This lady has over 4 hours of videos of her just taking about the syllabus. There is way to much work to do in just 6 weeks. She will take off more that 50% of your lab grade for no reason whatsoever. Way to picky of a grader. Would not recommend to anyone taking physics.
This professor is over-explaining the stuff to the point that you do not know what is going on. She has a hard accent also makes it difficult to listen to the long lecture videos. Just be prepared to put in hard work. Overall she is alright, but I did not enjoy this class at all.
Not the easiest class for sure but the best physics professor you can get. Tons of class examples make the exams quite predictable and easy to study. Use the office hours to go over questions with her to make sure you are in control before exams. No surprises in tests afterwards.
Here is a tip for you if you want an easy A from this class: make sure you have the solutions for all examples in the lectures and in homework handy. Exams are basically made of the same questions. Summer session is a little hard. Many chapters are compressed in 6-week period but I am planning to take 1402 from her as well.
she only grades the labs (tough grader!!) and everything else is graded automatically. Spend some time and submit the labs because it makes a big effect on the final grade. All around, it is good for an online class. I wanted to take 1402 from her in the summer as well but it was full very quickly. You may want to register early if interested.
In this class tests were 60% of your grade. The difficulty of the problems and the amount of time given is not enough. Each quiz was 4 problems and you get 20mins, each question although multiple choice you're given 15 choices per question. Absolute insanity. I spent 30+ hours a week studying for this class and a C is the best I could accomplish.
I took 1401 and 1402 from Prof B and I am so glad I did that. She is the only physics professor I could follow ever. Both classes were structured very well and everything you are supposed to do was crystal clear right from the beginning. Lectures are a bit long but flow nicely if you like the subject. Excellent professor!
I took her during the pandemic for both 1401 and 1402. She was very helpful whenever I reached out her. But she is very strict with her rules ' no extra credits'. She also wrote recommendation letters for my applications. I am so grateful for her.
I liked her class structure and responsiveness in both 1401 and 1402. It is still an online class and it is harder than in-person class. I personally like her teaching in person than online because she has great personality and she is very caring.
She has office hours and it is very helpful. I meet with her almost everyday during office hours. she is very nice and knowledgeable. The class is very hard especially online version but Dr. B will hep you. No homework but she has quizzes over homework.
I was very impressed with how Prof. Bekisli organized her class materials on D2L. Now that I am taking online classes from other professors and have issues finding things, I appreciate her even more. Her systematic approach makes a very difficult class very easy to follow and understand. Id choose her again if I decide to take 1402 too.
I got an A from this class but I must say it was not super easy. Professor is very accessible and likes to help if you ask for it. Other thing that helps is the very organized course schedule. You get very clear due dates from the start of the semester and weekly update emails as reminders. It is a loaded class in a very short time but very good.
