Being out of college for a few years I was nervous. Mr. Conserve was very helpful and thorough with his lectures. He is always making sure everyone is on the same page. If you get in your work and study time it will be a easy class, would definitely recommend.

I genuinely liked the class and the professor he knows the material well and always has jokes and honestly class is not hard Professor Fils always has an answer.

Class participation is important to him even if you are a math hater. He makes the class fun and enjoyable, and give extra-credit question once in while. If you want to pass and have the time to get his work done, you will pass his class. Additionally, you can text him a question, he will answer you even on Sundays. He is by far my best math prof.

The professor was very thorough in his teaching. You could tell he likes his job. If you struggle with math I do not recommend taking this class in the summer because it was fast pace. All in all, it was a good class. He takes attendance and participation very serious.

Professor Dieu-Conserve is a discerning man of a high calibre. Well spoken and his grading procedures are just. If an adequate mark in his class is an ambition, one must prioritize attendance and external assignments therewithal. Cell phone use is prohibited during his lectures. I would participate in another of his courses if it were an option.

He was one of the best math professors I have had. He is always there to help a student when they are having trouble understanding. He makes math tolerable and he often throws jokes in his lecture. I would definitely take his class again.

Always makes sure everyone in the class understands, portfolios are annoying but he does them in class with you so its easy to understand and get an A. Each test you get a flash card to write down any information which really helps. I would definitely take him again if I had the choice

Participation and attendance is expected and reiterated throughout the semester. Do Aleks homework (code required), its 20% of grade. Assigns group work in class. Goes over the reviews thoroughly, easy A if you show up, participate (dont be afraid to ask questions or express confusion). Would take again.

Lots of material for this class but he covers the basics well for the test. He gives study guides and also gives partial credit on tests for getting at least half of the answer right. He basically wants to make sure you understand the concepts.

Really enjoyed this class. Lots of homework in mathlab but it helps. He grades and post your results in a timely manner. Printed out the slides for us because we were having issues with our books being there on time. Lots of problems this semester with workday etc, but did well in this class. Best math professor at IRSC, this is the 3rd professor I had for MAC1105 and Im so glad I waited for him. He truly care about his students success and helps in any way he can. He explains content clearly and you know what to expect. He is one of my favorite professors of all time and Im in my bachelors courses so that says a lot!

Taking a 3 and a half hour class every Saturday was made bearable by this professor. He understood that students will take a few tries in order to understand a concept, and was patient when explaining. Although the homework sometimes covered things we didnt go over in class, he knew how to answer our questions about the concepts.

I took this class over summer so lessons were super quick and rushed. The course is well organized and he tried the best he could with the time we had. I struggle with math but he tried to help with whatever I needed. Class doesnt end until the stated end time so dont expect to leave early.

In lectures I had a hard time understanding the topics discussed. He goes fast and the explanations are vague.

I took him for intermediate algebra once a week, his class is nice and he teaches well but the tests are weighed heavily. I would take this teacher again if i had him more than once a week, he teaches clearly and gives time to practice, but he is stickler for rules.

He has a really thick French accent so it is somewhat hard to understand him at times and his English can be a little weird but after a while you get used to it. Taking this class once a week was really hard, but Professor Conserve takes the time to explain more than once if you do not understand it the first time. Dr. Fils Dieu-Conserve is probably one of the best math teachers I have ever had. Unlike other teachers who could care less whether you had a good grade or not, Dr. Conserve strives to help each and every one of his students receive the best grade possible. He also helps each of his students reach their highest academic ability possible as well.

Great professor, definitely knows his stuff. Attendance is mandatory & he really wants you to participate in lectures which is good. Very helpful when it comes to bringing up grades, he also offers extra credit sometimes during his lectures.

Professor FIls was such a good professor and even better grading wise. His lectures just go over anything that may have been in the homework and his test are very similar to reviews he gives. Honestly an easy A class if you just pay attention and make sure yo do everything on MyMathLab.

Dr. Fils was an amazing professor all of the semester. He engages the class in the lesson with humor and good spirit, along with accommodating to anyone in need of assistance. He responds to emails in a timely manner, and is likely to work with you so long as you show up and do your part. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone taking MAT1100.

I loved my first college math class with Professor Fils Dieu-Conserve. This was the first time taking a math class through IRSC, and he made math highly enjoyable. As long as you pay attention to the lectures and make sure that you do the required homework, there is no way that you should fail this class. Professor Conserve teaches math clearly!!!!

Amazing teacher!!!!! He explains everything in class so well he does have a little accent if you cant understand sit in the front of the class. No in class work. Assignments are extremely easy. I hated math but taking it with him I enjoyed he does make the class interesting for everyone to enjoy. Not a lot of work easy grader.

Dr. Conserve made Mat1033 understandable. He is really patient and he wants everyone to learn math. The class was fun. If you put in the effort you will pass the class. He gives extra credit and does a test review before each test if you practice the questions you will do ok on the test.

I took this professor for intermediate algebra and was excited to take college algebra with him. Math isn't my strongest subject, but he explains the material well. Although college algebra was hard (for me) I was successful due to his teaching.

Professor Dieu-Conserve is amazing! He invests so much into every student and is always willing to take time for you if you need him to explain something. He teaches in a way that keeps you interested in the lecture for the entire class. MyMathLab is not the best and made this class a bit more challenging, but overall, it was very enjoyable!

Dr. Conserve is an okay professor. He is very passionate about math so he may come of a little passive aggressive at times, or sarcastic. But overall he is a good professor he likes to lighten the mood with jokes, he will answer all your questions and be sure you understand it before moving on, but he is hard to reach by email.

Mr. Conserve is very helpful if u have questions don't hesitate to ask. If you feel like you need extra help, attend the blackboard hours. This class has a lot of homework depending on some modules, this isn't the kind of class you put onto the side or save for later. I highly suggest being at least a week ahead, I wish I had done this.

The tests in the class are graded much more compared to the hw assignments, but theres is a good amount of homework. If you stay on top of the hw you will be fine.

This is a professor that cares about teaching and his students. He wants to see you pass, and will work with you if you let him. Hes one of the professors that if you participate in discussions, you will learn. I had him during the start of COVID and his transition into online learning was great given the circumstances. Hands down the best teacher of mathematics I have ever had. He explains things in a way that makes the material easy to understand. There is always extra credit that can be accomplished. He makes his lectures funny and interactive, it doesn't even feel like math. I would be fine if he was my professor for any subject. 10/10

Dr. D is a great professor! I took his hybrid MAT1033 course. He encourages us to answer questions and solve problems without any shame about getting the answer wrong. He also makes sure we understand concepts. He even drops in a couple of jokes to lighten the mood. As long as you practice and attend class, it's smooth sailing.

I took Professor D for summer A and he is a great teacher. He is definitely passionate about his job and it translates in lectures. You have multiple attempts for quizzes, he offers extra credit, accessible outside of class, and he is understanding. This class is an easy B+ but if apply yourself you can get an A and i am someone who hates math lol

I am terrified of math and Dr. D was amazing at making several of us feel comfortable about a subject we did not like. He was engaging, funny and allowed for you to openly ask questions without feeling ignorant. Dr. D encourages participation and is very patient.

Such a helpful professor. If not for him no doubt I would have failed this class. I was one of the only people who needed extra help and he still ran the tutoring sessions so I could obtain extra help outside of class. Professor D is the best math teacher on IRSC, easy class, he explains everything so easily, even if you did not feel comfortable with math, professor D makes the class so easy to understand and he made sure everybody understands the unit. highly recommended
