Great professor. Knows what she's talking about every lecture (ATTEND ALL) and answers all of your questions. Always available during office hours and constantly giving extra credit. Easy to understand and if you write down her notes you should get an easy A. Barely used the book. TAKE HER!
Seriously an amazing professor. She helps you out with anything and everything. She gives extra credit like crazy! Lectures are the tests basically. Take notes and you're sure to be fine. I barely ever used the book, only to skim through. Italian accent but not hard to understand. Easy class if you put the time into it.
Loved her
Best professor. The class is easy. Attend all the classes, & take notes. Do the hw for practice but its not graded. She gives a lot of extra credit. 5 exams which she gives a review before the exam. The exam review is exactly the same as teh exam. Easy class! You can't fail.
She is an excellent teacher who is very passionate about the subject... must take! She was also a model when she was younger. So, yeah!
Took physics at different college teacher was a pain. Took this teacher and had a lot easier time. Take notes and you will do well. Gives extra credit daily has a review for exam. Test are all multiple choice.
If your looking for a science credit, this professor is the answer! She is really into her stuff and will explain everything thoroughly since it is her background. No textbook is necessary, but her notes are very valuable. She even allows us to use summaries for our test, whcih she also tells us the questions that are going to be on the test!
Great class and great professor! She is very passionate about the subject and teaches it well. If you go to all of the lectures and actually pay attention you will get an A. She even writes the notes along with you and does drawings and such that really make the info easy to remember. There are also a lot of extra credit opportunities!
One of the best prof. at FIU. EASY A. xtra credit for everything: notes, homwrk,lectures,ect..easy to understand and care about her students.
Great teacher! with so much extra credit there's no way you'll get a B and she gives the answers for the test, what else you will want.
She's awesome! So passionate about the subject and answers all questions. Gives review for tests, pretty much giving us the answers. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Don't even bother buying the book! You don't need it.
shes famous!!!! shes awesome. take this class if you need it to fulfill UCC. do not miss class. tons of extra credit and shes just plain awesome. easy A for sure but its also an enlightening class, shes really passionate about what she teaches. Im gonna miss it :(
Fantastic teacher. She's extremely knowledgable on what she teaches and equally as passionate. Her tests questions are all from the lectures so make sure you come to class and take notes. She gives ridiculous amounts of extra credit so there's no reason you shouldn't get an A. I didn't care about astronomy before I took her class but now I love it.
TAKE HER. she's amazing. she makes physics very comprehensible. she wants to help her students out. if you do her homework and study that for the exams you're guaranteed an A or B for sure. she's the best physics professor fiu has. take her for physics. she gives lots of extra credit opportunities as well. she wants you to pass.
One of the best professor! She cares about her students. Do the homework for practice and attend all her classes. She gives lots of extra credit. She provide an exam review before every exams. Do the exam review, homework, attend class, and do the extra credit and you will pass with an A. She makes physics understandable and fun. Love this class
BEST teacher EVER!! Super clear, super helpful, fun, interesting, and absolutely no trick questions on the test. took her for physics 1, physics 2, and astronomy, and i would take her again for EVERY class i need if i could!.
Enlightning class. fairly easy. just take notes and take tests, and do lots of extra credit provided (attenting lectures, or youtube vids) test to me were confusing. very scientific test questions for the very simple notes she gave us. we dont use the book in class, but i still bough it to review. not req. shes nice but dont talk cuz she will flip!
Loved this class. She is very nice & makes the class extremely interesting. She tells you exactly what's going to be on the exams. They're based on the notes so don't waste your money on the book. Lots of extra credit opportunities as well. Definitely recommend her!
awesome! she's very passionate on the subject and will clarify any questions. her handwriting is not too good but if you're listening to her lectures, her handwriting won't be a problem. she explains what will be on the test... if you fail, you're just lazy.
Take this class! The professor makes this class extremely easy to pass. She answers questions happily and provides many opportunities for extra credit. She passes around an attendance sheet every class but you can pass the class without even attending it. Gives a review of what will be on the test the class before the test. Must take, easy pass!
She is a great person. Very smart, very passionate and provides A LOT of extra credit opportunities, even just by showing up to class. Notes are very disorganized but just take pictures of them after class. Tests are very easy and she gives us a precise review. Loved this class. Take her!!
I love Professor Tirenzi and wish that I could have stayed in her class even though I withdrew from the lecture. She breaks Physics down and made it as simple as it could be for the beginner. Still wasn't easy but she made it doable. If she taught the lecture, maybe I would have gotten an A. Very generous with points and sexy to boot + nice accent.
Pretty cool professor & she's not always super serious. When giving a lecture she usually draws an example of what she's talking about and/or a diagram. I took her class Spring 2013. Sometimes her accent is hard to understand but if you ask a question she is happy to answer you. You don't need the textbook *so* much if you attend class regularly.
Prof. Terenzi tries to make her lectures fun. All thats important is to try to take most of the notes and attend class when she gives out her test recaps that outlines the exact test. She lets you use a "summary" on the test. Very easy class overall.
Great professor. She's actually pretty famous, and has been on many TV shows. Class is actually pretty interesting. Tons of extra credit opportunities. Tests are fairly easy. Don't talk excessively in her class or she'll kick you out. I didn't buy the book and received a B in the class. Overall, the easiest science class you can take.
Made the class fun and easy. Great class to take if you don't need a specific science class for your major.
Most mature students look to learn things in college. If that is you, DO NOT take this professor; if it's not you then it's an easiest A. She teaches you basic elementary astronomy that you can learn from a Netflix documentary series. A 50 minute class session would include maybe only 20 minutes of anything you haven't already heard or learned.
She is an amazing prof. Explains clearly/shows work on the board as you follow along. Assigns hw/ec/attendance isnt mandatory but go! It will help you. 20 questions on the 4 exams, final exam is 30. Got a c cause I was lazy could have gotten a B but didn't study.
Easy A if you write down all the notes. Go to class, it really helps you on tests. Don't bother studying since she lets you write a cheat sheet and doesn't check it. Her review is the test questions in order so just write that down.
Professor is passionate about the subject. I believe that's the way it should be. She also is interested in you understanding what she teaches, which cannot be said for the majority I've encountered thus far at the school.
SHes a great teacher. If you attend all the lectures your practically guaranteed a passing grade. She goes through exactly what will be on the upcoming test. You don't really need the textbook if you attend all lectures swell. Take this class for an easy A!
Fiorella is an amazing professor! She is very clear, you learn a lot of fun and interesting information and her tests always have a good study guide so you can always get a good grade on the test. She is wonderful. If you take this class, definitely take it with her! SHES AMAZING. everyone in the class seemed to think so too.
Didn't like the way she wrote her notes, she drew a lot. Pay attention & write what she says out loud cause it'll help. I would say the book is necessary to help you understand what she was trying to explain in class, once you read the book you'll be like: Oh thats what she was trying to say / teach. Doesn't explain very clearly. Overall, very easy
Didn't like the lecture honestly but the subject is interesting if you read the book. If you're very interested in the subject, I would not take this professor because theres not much learning. Like someone below me said, if you're a mature student that wants to learn, this isn't the class to take. Very easy but unclear note taking b/c her drawings
She's a good professor, gives reviews/study guide before exams, lets you use formula notes during exam, explains everything clearly & over all good class. Has immense amounts of extra credit, no way you won't pass. Take her :)
She's so hot and funny. Easy class, just attend the classes for her notes. The book is way too detailed for exams.
She is the best! She makes everything super simple and easy to understand. She also showed us just how relevant astronomy is to our daily lives in terms of the chemistry/technology involved with it. Totally love her, too cool. Take her!
AMAZING professor. Very helpful and passionate. Attendance is not mandatory but at the end of the semester she will give you extra credit depending on your attendance. Plus you NEED the notes to pass the exams. GO to her recaps and DO the summary. Easy A if you put a bit of effort.
The was on of the most intelectualy stimulating classes I have ever taken. Dr. Terenzi is a gifted comunicator and her class opened my eyes to so manny things. It was an asolute honor to have learned under her
Dr. Fiorella Terenzi has been all around the world and back. She's really knows her field and has a deep passion for it. She's a big visual person, so if you're a visual learner, take her class. Would take this class again.
Honestly the best teacher at FIU. TAKE THIS CLASS DONT EVEN BOTHER READING FURTHER. NO WAY IN HELL YOU DONT GET AN A IN THIS CLASS
She is really into Astronomy, but she is sometimes confusing, especially her tests. You could learn something with her. She is very passionate and if you are not interested in the class do not go because she can ask you to leave if she hear you talking. Overall, good teacher.
The course was so easy! Her lectures are very clear and short, and she gives a recap of every test. You get extra credit for attendance and presenting astronomy news to the class. Overall, she is inspiring, professional, and very intelligent. If you want an easy A but still want to learn something, take ast2003 with professor Terenzi.
Lets you use personalized reference sheets on each exam. Generous with extra credit. Straight forward lectures. No surprises on exams; what she teaches is what you're tested on. Lively teaching method. Sometimes your hw questions may be your exam questions so pay attention!!! Lol. I absolutely loved her class and Aced it with flying colors!!! :)
Fantastic Professor. There for her students. I recommend this professor for anyone taking this course. Easy A if you attend class. The lectures are very important.
Dr. Terenzi is just awesome. I loved her classes so much. She makes you understand everything and helps a lot. I wish I could take her again. Tests are easy (multiple choice), she lets you use your own formula sheet and even tells you what you should include on it, and also gives a lot of extra credit. Go to class, do the homework and you will pass
Fiorella is as nice as they come. It's almost impossible not to get an A in this class, since she gives so much extra credit. She also allows you to bring your notes to the tests. That being said, you don't need to actually attend class if you buy the book, just sunmarize chapters. If you don't buy the book take notes from class and you'll be fine.
Her notes are very unclear. She starts class, doesn't specify which chapter she's doing. She puts the tests on the overhead, which could be good or bad for some people. She has an accent, but it's not distracting. She will call you out if you talk in her class.
She is spectacular, and gives a lot of extra credit during the semester. Just go to class and you will get an A!
Ms. Terenzi is very clear about what she expects of you at the start of the semester. If you really want an A in the class, buy the book since her notes are pretty scattered. You can get an older one for really cheap. She also gives A LOT of extra credit, so take advantage early on. Overall, good class & would take again.
This professor is simply the best! She does everything a student needs, which is lecture and give you full understanding of the material. If you put in the time to go to class and study, you will pass the class. I would take her again if she was an option later on!
Do the homework a million times you'll do great on the tests!
Use the buddy system during exams. What she teaches is not on the exams! When the class isn't doing well, she will then put homework problems on the exams.
Prof. Terenzi knows the subject. Her lectures are extreamly interesting; I'm a business major and I loved the class. This class was one of those where the lectures are so good that you just have to review for the test. She also allows you to have a formula sheet with you in the test. Her reviews before the tests are helpful. Tons of Extra Credit.
Not sure she is the best teacher if you are really interested in the subject. She basically spends lectures doing some of the homework problems. I ended p reading on my own to learn the material. However, she tells you what topics specifically will be on the exams, offers lots of extra credit, and lets you use a formula sheet on the tests.
Super hot italian lady with an accent! Shes kind of annoying and i repeat YOU DONT NEED TO GO TO CLASS EVER unless it is the recap for the test, just sit in the back and you can use your phone, she basically gives you the answers to the tests, go to the extra credit lectures. show up and get an A
If you're really interested in learning physics, she is not the one. She loves teaching astronomy, not physics. However, an A is not hard to obtain since there are many extra credit opportunities and she lets you have a customized formula sheet. I would go over the examples she did in class an hour before test, and got an A in all of them.
Truly enlightening and inspirational. Blends science with art, music and imagination. I would never become tired of her teaching.
She's a great professor and offers a bunch of extra credit so make sure to take advantage. Her tests are pretty straight forward plus she lets you use a cheat sheet; pretty much its a chill class.
Class isn't difficult. However, I stopped attending because I personally did not enjoy nor understood her lectures since her notes are all over the place. I bought an older book and it helps a lot, but most of the test is based off what she gives during class. Do make sure you attend to the recap sessions!
This professor's notes make absolutely no sense... Whether you go to class or not it won't really matter because if you don't read on your own you most likely won't do well on the test. I went to this professor for help because I had some trouble in the class and she basically shrugged her shoulders at me and told me there was nothing I could do.
Great at what she does. Gets so excited about the subject she forgets to teach what's actually in the test. The tests are hard, there's 5 of them. Questions on the exam are confusing. Gives a study guide for the exam which will help you pass with a C. Took this class because everyone told me was the easiest. If you're looking for an easy A... RUN.
Most of the test material is based on class lectures. Attendance is not mandatory but if you don't show up to class you won't pass the tests. on the bright side no hw. I relied mostly on the TB to study.
She's a really good teacher and easy class as long as you actually go to her classes. Everything she says and writes down in class is ALWAYS on the test, and you get to have a cheat sheet during your exams even on the final. Honestly, as long as you go to class you should be set with at least a solid B. Also, she gives a ton of extra credit.
She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities by going to astronomy lectures on campus and giving an in class speech of current astronomy events. It is not difficult to get an A so long as you put in an effort to study and read the book. Simply studying from her notes may not guarantee an A because they can be a bit confusing.
This is the hardest class I've ever taken at FIU. This class ruined my A record. Do not take this class with her. Exams are really difficult and so vague. My major is management and I took this class because they told me it was the easiest one.... LIES. RUN, RUN FOR YOUR GPA.
This class is easy there are only four test and the final and the final replaces one test if you missed one. Also she lets you bring a cheat sheet for ALL the test. GO to all the classes even though its not mandatory because you wont understand the book. AND do the extra credit she gives so much it makes it hard to fail.
She teaches well and her questions come from her lectures. Practice what she teaches and u will be fine. 5 tests. No online homework no quizzes. She also gives plenty of extra credit opportunities but u have to attend events and it gets very crowded and it takes forever to sign ur name for 5 extra credit points.
Great teacher. She has a passion for what she teaches and tries very hard to be clear despite her accent. She always asks on ways she can improve because she cares about her students. You do need to go to class or get notes from a class mate, although its better to understand if you go. Tests are not hard with cheat sheets. Lots of extra credit.
Fiorella Terenzi is an amazing professor. Her lectures are tremendously interesting, and you always know what to write down because she teaches by writing her own notes as she goes. Offers A LOT of extra credit. Miss a test? final will take its place. Doesn't do pluses and minuses which makes for a great grading scale. Be in class. TAKE HER!!
always copied all of her notes and i'd say that's key to passing the class. the class before a test, she has a review and writes down what every question will be on. Allows a cheat sheet for every test and has extra credit opportunities, she's fun and adorable and although she has a heavy accent, she's a great teacher
Easy A. This class with her was incredibly easy. She gives 5 tests which includes the final. There is a lot of extra credit. If you do the homework you're set because the tests are simple versions of the homework and in-class problems. However, you will not learn anything. If you're going past physics 2, take someone else.
Don't do it. The way she conducts this course is not AT ALL proportional to the fact this is a 1000 level class. I did better in my 3000 levels., which is utterly ridiculous. Her tests are hard, her extra credit is all but useless points-wise. The people that are passing are cheating. all the way. Notes are handwritten so attendance necessary.
This professor is the definition of how a physics professors should teach. She is so nice, she break physics down even to the units. she explains what SI units make Newton and etc. If you study her test should be pretty easy. This professor is the best professor that can ever teach this course. Please. I repeat please take her if you want to pass.
Great teacher, she has an accent but you can still understand her. She teaches great and as long as you show up and take notes youll get an easy A!
Good lectures, clear grading criteria, easy tests. There isn't much more you could want from a teacher. Study and attend the lectures and you will pass.
Terenzi was all over the place. She was lost half of the time during lecture and would use the manual for the answers. At times she wouldn't be able to figure out how to get to the answers so she will ask for a rain check. I learned straight from the book, so it was a lot of reading. She did offer extra credit which was to attend astro lectures.
She doesn't know how to teach physics. Her way of grading exams didn't make sense. The exam was multiple choice but you had to show work for every problem and if the work didn't support it but you circled the right answer; completely wrong. Even if your work was semi right. The rating here is mainly for her astrology course. Take someone else.
Her class was great, only 4 test plus the final, they are easy if you do the homework and pay attention to the lectures because the problems are very similar to those on the test. She always does a test review before the test. I suggest you attend to the reviews because she explains what kind of problems are going to be on the test.
She's a great professor, clear outline for tests. 4 test 1 final, gives you what to study. No scatrons, show working, gives extra credit. Redo the probs in class follow her instructions and you'll pass. If you don't show up or practice you won't pass. Do your homework and you'll pass. Wish she was doing 2049. She DOES know how to teach. I got an A.
Her teaching style is great, she aways goes over the types of problems you'll encounter in her tests, she'll tell you the concepts of what will be on the test. She allows us to have a formula sheet for all of the tests. She gives a lot of extra credit and she also goes over a lot of the problems in class since thats the main way to pass
I HIGHLY recommend her! Allows 1 sheet of paper of notes for exams. No homework. Gives extra-credit. She is passionate about what she teaches and gets you interested in the subject. As an International Business major i've never been good at or interested in science, however her enthusiasm is really contagious.
Just show up and write down the same notes she does and you'll pass. She bases her tests straight from the notes in class so the book isn't even needed. Great class and very easy
Great Professor. No Plus or Minus Grades. Make sure to pay attention in class as well as her review. 4 exams plus a cumulative Final with a cheat sheet with certain restrictions allowed. Should be an Easy A if you pay attention and go to class AND TAKE NOTES!! If you are struggling just skim through the chapters and Topics which the tests are on.
She has a strong Italian accent, somewhat easy to understand. The class is pretty easy and she lets you bring a cheat sheet to the tests, of which there are 5 (final included). Just take pictures of the board every couple minutes and put it on a sheet. You'll do great.
Just practice the homework and classwork. Easy A.
At first she seemed tough grading, but as the class continued she got really easy. I maybe attended 10 classes the entire semester so if you know physics you don't have to worry about lectures, using the book you should get everything you need to know. HW is not needed, but if you want an A it is. As far as teaching she only goes over book examples
BEST PHYSICS PROFESSOR EVER! Her test are super easy as long as you do the homework and classwork examples from the book you will be fine. She also give homework as extra credit so do that for extra points. I never thought that i would get such a good grade in physics. Ended up with an A. She's amazing and always there to help. TAKE HER!
Amazing Professor! I highly recommend her. She was very knowledgeable as well as passionate about physics. I absolutely enjoyed taking physics with her. She taught really well and I learned a lot. I really wish she was teaching PHY 2049.
Great professor. Makes physics fun! 5 exams including the final. She gives a review before every exam. Lot's of extra credit. Do the homework and you'll be fine. If you need to go past physics 2, take someone else.
The class itself isn't hard, but take notes of everything as it'll come in handy for when you have to make the cheat sheets that she allows you to use on the tests. She also gives out extra credit: attend only 1 astro lecture for 5 points. The class before the test, she also reviews over what's going to be on the exam.
Great professor. Wants students to pass
She is FANTATIC/AMAZING/GREEATTT!! Do not think twice about taking her. There is extra credit 5 points (astrolecture). She let's you bring a sheet of paper with equations to the test. During exams she'll go over the questions and what is given. Which helped out! 10 question exam. Last 2 questions are definition. The whole exam is short answer type.
Passionate to teach students about Astro! She is knowledgeable in her field and makes the topics exciting! Her notes consist of doodles (Not the greatest speller) she allows a cheatsheet for every test including final. For tests she says the topic that is assigned to each question. Would HIGHLY recommend, fun and easy class with /this/ professor!
I did very bad on one test so I went to her to ask her for help and instead she was rude to me. Her lectures are messy and aren't that great when it comes time to study but the book will be your best friend to understand everything better.
I thought I understood physics, but there is no Mastering Physics problem involved and on top of that, her exams were terrible. She gives no partial credit. If you don't do the work, the way she wants it- she will give you zero credit. Take someone else! You won't learn physics with her.
All she did throughout the semester was just explain pre-selected problems that she had already solved before class. That at times she would have trouble remembering how she had solved them. I basically had to teach myself physics. Dr. Terenzi did not give a damn whether or not you passed her class. You either knew the material or you didn't.
Prof. Terenzi is a fantastic professor. She knows the material very well and really cares about her students. You have to study though. 2 exams and a cumulative final and extra credit homework (weighs like an exam). I recommend doing the homework she assigns at the end of the chapters as they are most like the exam. She allows a cheat sheet too.
I love her lectures! She makes the class very interesting and she writes her own notes and bases her tests off her notes so there is no reading or textbook required. As long as you study her notes and study guides you will do well on the exams.
Terenzi was incredible! Two tests and a final. Homework was extra credit and boosted our grade tremendously. Tests were easy as long as you reviewed the notes and practiced the problems from the textbook. Her test grading was very lenient. Would definitely recommend this professor as she is sweet and funny.
It is best to go to class to understand what her notes mean... her tests are basically from this. Definitely study for her exams by reading the sections in the textbook related to the study guide. Overall I loved her passion and it wasn't too rough
She's a very nice lady and at times funny. What is most noticeable is her passion for the subject of astronomy. Every lecture, she always shows her enthusiasm for the subject. She always shares interesting facts about the universe and videos as well. Her writing can be very confusing, however. Her test are okay, but she lets you have a cheat sheet.
Fiorella was not what I expected. She gives long lectures and tests that do not have anything to do with the lectures. I consider myself a good student that puts in the effort but she's simply all over the place. DO NOT if you want an easy A.
she allows a cheat sheet on her exams, she goes over exactly what will be on the exam as well. you do not need a book, homework is optional because it is xtra cred (online) and it helps tremendously at the end of semester for points. Final is cumulative but replaces a missing exam. I wish i could take her for physics II
Class is based on three tests. Allows you to create your own cheat sheet for the tests and gives really good reviews before each exam. Homework was used for extra credit and she offers other extra credits either by attending events or being a class assistant. Great professor overall.
Seemingly, she does not know physics and comes with home-prepared problems to class. If you ask her about a different problem from the textbook, she will not be able to answer. Her lessons are boring because she just read the textbook. In rest, her class is easy and she is very lenient. However, if you want to learn physics go to other professor.
theres extra credit thats supposed to add up to 13% of your grade but its really 9%, email her and she says "APPROX". There are 3 exams, and the final is cumaltive. She doesnt know how to answer most questions you ask. The exams are pretty simple if you study the questions she assigns and class is extremely boring. Easy B, but we all trying to getA
Not the best physics teacher, cant teach and assigns a lot of hw, at least its not a grade. Some EC that dont add up and her reviews is just her notes. Says no surprises and everything comes from notes but thats not the case. Locks away test 1 and 2, 3 weeks before final and says u cant see them any more!! Answers her own question insteadofurs
3 tests throughout the semester and the answers for questions on the tests are found in the textbook. The textbook was free and she emailed us the PDF at the beginning of the semester. She allows cheat sheets for each test.
I could not disagree more with the previous posters. The extra credit in the class is very generous. she is very clear about what material will be tested. She is very nice and accommodative. I would strongly recommend taking her. Frankly she is one of my favorite professors so far. She even has a Ferrari, what else could ask for.
Its physics 2 with calculus its NOT easy but shes an amazing professor. I mean that sincerely. She breaks everything down, gives lots of practice, throws in extra credit EVERY chance she gets. Those giving bad reviews didnt put in the work. I should be finishing with a B and I credit my hard work and they way shes broken down the Material.
Terenzi is nice and caring, but her teaching still is mediocre. If you want an Easy A go for it. If you want to actually learn, I suggest you take another professor. Most classes ended up in confusion because the professor was not adequately prepared for the class regardless of having the answer key right in front of her.
Hands down the best professor I've taken for physics. She assigns "mandatory" questions which 9/10 come either in the tests or final. She's more than willing to help you out of class and during the exam. Definitely recommend. Apart from all that she's a whole musician who's passionate about physics?! What more would you want?
Grade is based on just 2 exams and the final, but she gives so much extra credit and teaches so, so well. You cant ask for a kinder or better Physics professor. No curveballs and she lectures in such a way that youll feel confident after every class. I just wish it wasnt at 8 am lol. Overall, shes so sweet and cool, and youll love Physics.
Do your self a favor an ignore all the bad comments. This is the best physic professor at FIU! And her love for physics is beyond amazing and sexy accent will keep you paying attention. Sucks that final doesn't replace lowest test but with all the extra credit that is provided there is no excuse! I love her and I would take any class with her!!
This physics professor is great. There are 3 exams that make up your grade. The class is based on a point based system, NOT PERCENTAGES, which she states in the beginning of the course. You don't need to go to class as long as you study because all her notes are uploaded to google drive. As long as you put in the work you will pass the class.
One of the most inspirational teachers Ive met to this day. She has so much passion for Astronomy, creativity, and life in general. She gets very enthusiastic in her work and thrives to have a day where students create their own space opera! If you have a creative mind and a passion for science you should definitely come join her chill class!
Great proffesor. So passionate . Great course follower. Almost every day we receive an email with valuable information. Just study, be on the class and do the job . Gives extra points, so work for it
She is a gem of a person and teacher. I was never able to attend much lectures because of work, so I would only come when I really didn't understand anything. She uploads all the notes on google drive and gives an absurd amount of extra credit. She is very knowledgable and is willing to help you if you have trouble. 10/10 would take her again.
Easy A, not too sure about how much you will learn though
I would not recommend this professor. The course is very lecture heavy and independent study heavy. If that works for you, then she is the professor for you. She also assigns a lot of homework, not for a grade, but for practice. The test questions are almost always similar to a those questions. She does not explain the answers to questions.
the second you walk in she begins doing problems from the textbook. Doesnt really discuss new topics just kind of solves problems on her own. This is all that happens for the entirety of the class. Unless you can learn the subject on your own I dont recommend taking this class. Am I talking to myself...? YES!
She is very knowledgeable, has a long resume to prove. Is the class easy? No, its physics its not suppose to be easy. Students really do need to study to pass, if not its an F. just going to class is not enough. She is very professional and ready to teach and help anyway she can.
Dr. Terenzi is the best! She is very talented! Amazing lectures that are very clear. She wants your feedback and will make adjustments as necessary. Uploads notes for you to go back and review at home. Assigns optional homework for extra practice. She genuinely cares about her students. Step by step examples. Amazing professor!
So... unless you want to do a play based on astronomy - "Let's Get Astrophysical"... don't take her, because it counts as a test grade. There are only 3 tests. If you don't do the play then you better do super well on the midterm & final to pass the class. The play is basically your life saver. She posts her notes and she is a caring prof, though.
I absolutely love her. She made me love physics and I went from totally sucking at it to getting an A! shes the best.
Dr. Terenzi is the best professor at FIU. Genuinely cares about her students. All exams are short, sweet, and to the point. Like she likes to say in class, "no stress". She will test your knowledge, but never intentionally trick you. She uploads her notes so you can make up for anything you may have missed in class. Expectations are very clear!
She is NOT a caring professor. If you ask her something, she doesn't answer you properly. If you need help with a problem and you ask her, she is always telling to go to tutoring. Then what is the point of her being a professor. To just take students money?? She needs to learn how to help a student and be a good professor.
She is the worst professional ever. Terrible!! I don't know how she has a good rating. She does NOT care about the students. Please DON'T take her!!!
She is very rude. She doesn't care about her students. Her exams are hard and different from her lectures. If you ask her a question, she doesn't answer properly. She says different things. She will act nice but she is not. She makes the class so hard.
I took a fully online class with her. 400 points, only for exams, so 4 unit exams each worth 100 points. For each unit there's 12 extra credit points available. Accessible out of class, but extra credit activities don't help for the test and lectures are not enough. You need to review a lot of content from the textbook to pass the exam.
I picked fiorella because of her great ratings. However, because of COVID, I believe her class has been impossible for me. Her tests and homework are from Pearson so they are not correlated to her lectures. Her grading criteria is disgusting and very unfair. Many withdrew from the class and I dont blame them. Please do not take her during COVID.
I took this physics course with no prior experience/exposure to physics and found this course very manageable. Her online lectures were easy to follow/understand and very entertaining (which I appreciated). Highly suggest watching the lecture videos as she bases her exams on them. Offers plenty of extra credit. Plan on taking her for physics 2 :)
Im taking this class online but its best to take it if the professor actually has zoom meetings rather than watching her recording videos. The intro to her videos are catchy, however, helping you grasps the material shes writing isnt so helpful. She gives EC only 2pts. Thats the only thing helping me right now. I wouldnt recommend her.
one of the best professors I have ever had. She even does a recap before each exam saying what each question is about. Gives like 40 points of extra credit. I never took trig before & she taught it in a way that made it easy. Just read the book/ do hw questions/ watch lectures & youll get an A. TA graders are also amazing & add points to ur test
This professor was pretty easy and very clear, the work is easy and for the tests she tells you exactly what you have to study so you can pass
There is truly nothing good or nice to say about Professor Terenzi. I was in a very tough spot during the time that I took her and she very clearly could care less. I reached out multiple times and there were times she wouldn't even reply. If math is not your strong suit I HIGHLY suggest taking someone else. Very sad to have to write this about her
She knows physics very well and recorded lectures are understandable if you take the time to really understand what she is saying. No consideration for students schedule outside of school or comfort while taking exams. Will always assume students are trying to cheat. Extremely demanding for exam instructions while doing the exam.
Professor Terenzi is a little bit wacky lol. Her lectures are definitely interesting and the Italian accent is very deep, though they are entertaining she makes you feel like you're in elementary with the way she explains things. Her class is solely dependent on 4 tests and she has a weird way of calculating your grade with points. Tests are easy.
Easiest physics class you can take. HW was not due until the end of the semester, all lectures were on playposit and the exams were extremely easy, MULTIPLE CHOICE exams, which is a gem to find in physics. I had a good experience, I can't really say for people who had bad experiences, but the tests are as easy as it can get. Some extra credit.
Great professor, fun video lectures. The homework was easy and so was the test. As long as you review the homework and her test recaps you'll pass the test and the class. There were a few discussion boards. Have to get the textbook. Had to pay to use honor lock to take the tests though.
3 exams and everything else extra credit. What I did not like is the way she sets up her exams. Uses Honorlock and makes you show your work and you have to write every single little detail as to how and why you got the answer, if not you lose points.
Out of all the math and science I've taken at FIU she has hands down the absolute worse professor and that in it of itself says a lot about her. She doesn't care about her students and would barely answer her emails regarding my concerns. I wouldn't recommend anyone take her even if your life depended on it. HORRIBLE.
The teacher gives very little points for extra credit; she grades heavily for exams; she takes points off of everything if it is not done her way. Physics is hard already. Her teaching style was different; it was hard to follow. She used honorlock for her exams.
I'd suggest you take her because the exams are insanely easy, way easier than Kadel's. However, she is extremely rude and doesn't care about her students, especially when technical difficulties are involved. Her exams take place on Sunday from 11am-1pm which sucks. She doesn't offer any exceptions or alternatives.
Online, 3 exams, exam 3 replaces the lowest exam either 1 or 2, she gave a whole ~13 percent extra credit, ***percent***, all you do is take notes and take easy exams which have VOCAB on them as questions. Not gonna lie if you fail her class with all the extra credit and medium difficulty exams college isn't for you. She also has her own wiki lol.
Do not take her for physics no matter what. You can show all the work in the world of the problem if it is not HER WAY she will mark it wrong. She offered absolutely no help or willingness to answer any questions. Answers very rudely and unprofessional to all. Uncaring and horrible choice AVOID NO MATTER WHAT.
Professor Terenzi showed little involvement in the class as expected for an online course but still provided ample resources and gave more than enough opportunities to receive a good grade. I got a 64% on the first test but managed to get 85+ on the next two exams and final. She drops the lowest grade and replaces with the final exam.
You could easily reach the professor outside of class if you had any issues. However, the grading criteria was so complex I'm not even sure what my final grade is at the moment. There is so much weight on the tests that if you fail one your grade will plummet. Overall, she is a nice professor, but I wouldn't want to go through that stress again.
I really do not know how she has a 4/5 i thought that she would be a good professor to take due to the reviews but in all honesty this has been the worst professor i've had. she is not understanding at all if you are having a problem with your test or lockdown, forget about it she is no help she will just be super sarcastic instead. Just Horrible.
Not super interactive with students, but did a good job with her recorded lectures. On you to read the book, the whole book, and keep up with the work. 3 tests with the last test replacing the lowest score of the other two. 3 extra credit opportunities and 4 random bonus points. Good instructions to prep for tests. Easy A is you do the work.
This class was more difficult than I thought. What you study for isn't really on the test. It'll say the test is on specific chapters which are the freshest in your mind but half of the exam is based on previous material. Tests are proctored, there is lots of homework, only three discussion posts, and a couple of options for extra credit.
This professor was good! Idk why her ratings are so low, if you put in the work and really study the material you should get good grades on the exams. Shes also understanding and adds points to curve grades at the end of the semester. Put in the work and do the homework and watch the lectures and you should be fine.
I don't really understand why her reviews weren't good but I believe that she was a great professor. I was scared that this class was going to be difficult but because of her lectures and the work on my pearson, I was able to pass this course. The tests were the same as the home works from my pearson, just different numbers. She gave extra credit.
Online course was basically entirely graded by the test scores. Her textbook HW and discussion assignments were extra credit, and were very easy to get done. All I can say is listen to the lectures because that's exactly what was on the tests. Study, and you'll pass EASY. She was very sweet, very understanding, and I'd definitely choose her again.
great professor and many opportunities to pass. not a lot of work also just a fair so you don't feel overwhelm
She's cold, rude, and has a huge ego. Lectures have incorrect information. She changed the requirements for EC on an assignment after locking it because she didn't want to give out so much EC. 3 exams make up your grade. Class is passable, don't miss anything. She does not care about students, will bury you. Complains a lot about being contacted.
Put effort into doing the assignments. 3 discussion posts. 3 proctored tests, some questions are not even in the book. Everything other than tests (HW, watching lecture, etc.) is extra credit. If you hate reading, try listening to the audio that comes with the online version of the textbook!
Prof Terenzi has no respect towards students nor professionalism. She responds rudely when asked any questions regarding the course and given the class is online, communication with students is extremely important. The course is difficult with her poor optional lectures and you are learning on your own essentially. However, the class is manageable.
Physics is a hard subject, but this class was manageable. I recommend this class especially due to its structure and grading system (point system) considering this is a complex class for people seeing physics for the first time. Essentially three exams make up your grade, however everything else that will prepare you for the exams is extra credit.
She is good, test are on Sunday SHE WON'T CHANGE THE DATE FOR YOU. there are 3 test mandatory, HW is in Pearson and she uploads a guide with problem solved to use it when doing the HW. has 3 discussion. This class was easy , test are literally from the homework but different numbers. the test is with camera lockdown browser. calculation sheet allow
Very test heavy class, majority of the assignments are worth 1 ec point, compared to the 3 exams that are 100points each. If you are decent at math, or at least catch concepts quickly on your own with no help from the professor, then you're golden. If that doesn't sound like you, do NOT take this professor.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this professor. We've never emailed honestly I've never talked to her before but her grading style is amazing. SOOO many extra credit opportunities. 3 tests NO FINAL. Her homework is just to prepare you for the tests. Tests are maddddd easy like 25 problems at most and so easy!! Love her for real learned and breezed through it
Dr. Terenzi is an amazing professor. She offers lots of opportunities to get a good grade. Test are based off the homeworks and playposit problems. Some homeworks are lenghty but she offers extra credit for doing them. Tests are 10 questions each and they-are done on sundays. She uses my math lab so you have to purchase the code or get it from PB.
Amazing professor. Very easy to learn. Exam questions are just like the homework questions. Gives chance for extra credit. Replaces lowest test grade with final grade if higher. Replies to emails very fast. Very organized. Take her!!
Take her !! Physics is a hard subject but she is so sweet and caring, grade is based off 3 exams, she drops the lowest + all of the homework is EC and will help you balance out your grade in case you are not doing so well
Professor Terenzi was great. Although some may disagree, her lectures are the best. She really does give all the resources necessary to get a good grade. Its physics so its not an easy class. Graded on 3 tests, final replaces lowest of first 2. Gives tons of extra credit. Test problems are not tricky and true to the material in lectures and hw.
I'd recommend professor Terenzi if you're looking for a science to fill your requirements. She's super accommodating and her tests are all multiple choice. She offers multiple opportunities for extra credit. Overall, I'd choose her as my professor again!
