Take the Godfather and make him a professor. That is Vacarro. Vacarro is AMAZINGLY FUNNY and has a great personality. Tests are hard so pay close attention. Also, before tests follow the VACARRO LAW- NO SEX AND YOU WILL PASS THE CLASS haha

Freud is GoD and deserves to be taught in a classroom...Vaccaro is great due to the fact that he's a Freud-follower =)

He is the sweetest man.. You must take good notes and pay close attention to him during lectures, because the multiple choice can be very tricky.. Oh, and last but certainly not least: You must follow one very important rule : NO SEX = PASS CLASS.. HAHA

this class is actually pretty fun to go to. He is an extremely funny man and a good teacher. His tests really aren't as hard as everyone makes them out to be. study and you will be fine.

A great Psychology professor. He's the stereotypical psych nut who makes fun of everyone and is constantly cracking jokes. He makes class enjoyable and is definitely worth the time. His tests are sometimes harder than average though

If you want a class that you actually look forward to going to, pick Vaccaro. But be prepared to study. His tests are really difficult, but he's a great professor and a lot of fun, plus he usually ends class 15 mins early.

if you are interested in psychology, take a class with vaccaro. he's really funny and cool, but his tests are very hard. his jokes do get old, like he thinks everyone is high when they come into class. but otherwise it's cool.

he is awesome...i love going to his class and am taking another with him next semester. He makes the information fun and really knows what he is talking about. Any1 who says his tests are hard are just stupid, he goes over everything on the test!!!

Great guy overall, reads off the questions to tests and quizes and there is no hw or papers. Very understanding and good sence of humor. Gives detailed lectures and will repeat things as many times as needed.

Professor is hysterical and makes class enjoyable. He gives the questions, for the most part, for the quizzes and exams. He's great!

I loved professor Vacarro.. Hes very smart and makes the class very enjoyable to go to.. Attendance and good notes are a must cause thats where he gets the ques for the test from. he does give you the ques before hand tho.. Makes you laugh

Vaccaro is a very interesting professor who brings humor to the study of psychology. At first he may seem a little crass but he is actually a kind teacher- I once missed a midterm because of a car accident and he was very concerned and helpful.

I took him for Intro, Personality and Adult Psych,this guy is just the man! He is the funniest teacher I have had at Hofstra. The quizzes and tests were difficult though, but there r no essays or HW. I had to study hard for the tests,but it was worth it

Very Good teacher. If you stick to the rules hes very pleasant to be around. He brings a lot of fun to the class, and his class always goes by very fast because he keeps it interesting. No homework or papers, just some tests, which are easy if your ready.

good teacher but has a very strict attendance policy- if you miss more than 3 classes you get 1 point taken off your grade for every missed class after that. he gives the test questions ahead of time but it can still get tricky- you have to go to class

Prof. Vaccaro is awsome his class are easy plus if you went to SSHS he will remind you of the health teacher...but otherwsie he doens't give any papers only two quizes a midterm and a final plus gives you all the question topic in advance which is awsome

Funny, Smart, and Helpful. only thing you must attend his class, otherwise there is no better Professor at HOEstra. You won't get an A no matter how good you think you are but he's worth the B.

Funny,smart,but ridiculously strict attendance policy.In my class,if you tried opening the door after he called attendance,we would NOT LET YOU INTO CLASS.If you walked in,you'd get thrown out.Only after he took attendance so he knew you were late.

The class sounds like it'd be interesting but it's so far from that except vacarro somehow made it good by his sense of humor and laid backness. you need to know detail for his tests but he gives u the question before the test

Great man....but I was looking for a great prof. He is funny and will def. make the class interesting but unless you know psych. inside out don't even think of getting a decent grade. Tests are impossible no matter how much you study.

Teacher is funny, or tries to be funny. Class can be intersting sometimes. He gives you a list of whats going to be on each test the class before the test, and all you need to do is study from those things. A lot of information is covered, but its not too difficult.

great professor..makes class very interesting..and he's so funny..he curses like crazy but its cool..gives questions to exams before hand, but don't expect an A just because of that..his questions can be a bit tricky

do not I REPEAT do not be tricked by his laid back attitude..write down every damn word that man says because his quiz/test asks about a specific word he might have mentioned(random/carefree) briefly in class...seems too down to earth for someone that works with schizos

Dr. Vacarro is AMAZING! He is by far the best professor at Hofstra-I wish he taught all of my classes! He makes the class a lot of fun and always lets you out at least 30 mins early. You have 2 tests and 2 quizzes-he gives you all of the answers before hand. Take good notes & you'll be fine!

Dr. Vaccaro is the best professor at Hofstra! His class is amazing and he makes it a lot of fun. Its an easy class if you show up and take good notes. He gives you all of the questions to the tests he gives a week before you take them so he's very fair. Great course & great professor-Love him!!

I love Dr. Vaccarro. He is a wonderful professor. He is understanding and extremely funny, the class goes by soo quickly. I wish he taught more then two courses. He is a remarkable professor.

AnyBody who doesn't like this class is crazy.Dr.Vaccaro is so funny. certain students think that they are so smart& have the perfect answer to every question he ask and i lov when he be getting on them! All you have to do is take good notes and read the textbook. His lectures are effective because he use real life stories to relate to topics.

Sadly, any bad comments about Vaccaro are blasphemies....it is impossible for u to fail his classes when he gives the questions to every single test and quiz...if u get anything less than a B, it is evident that u either didnt attend class or study the questions...great teacher and advisor...i recommend him any day for an easy A

I have a 3.87 GPA and got a B+ in his class...his test's are misleadingly tricky...I wouldn't say hard. I'm sure if you read the book, which I didn't, you can do fine. He is really funny, but if you are looking for an easy grade, look for another professor.

Even though I got a C in his class, I really didnt mind him. He's a really funny guy and wants to help his students. He even gives you hints on tests. I had to wake up at 7 am for his class and I really didnt mind it. He wakes up the whole class with his jokes. I would recommend him by all means.

He is a "funny" guy but tends to pick on kids in class so if you cant take it I would suggest staying quiet. He uses good analogies but it's a lot of info and only two tests and two quizzes attendance is mandatory! He may not be the best but Ive had worse...

he answers all questions and tells you what questions r gonna be on the test (including midterm/final!). he is VERY funny and makes the time go fast. he never gives homework except reading. he really makes you interested in the topic. his tests are medium difficulty but if you study what he tells you to you'll do fine.

I've taken him before but for adult psych he is very hard his finals are forever about 90 questiosn and then two essays not worth your time

LOVE Prof Vaccaro.. have taken 2 classes with him and enjoyed both. He is very smart, very funny, great teacher. As long as you put some effort into it and read, you'll do good. This class was one of my favorites, very funny and very easy. Would highly recommend him to anyone.

His psych 001 class is very fun. He makes you laugh, jokes well with you, helps give you hints for answers to test questions. He tells you what the questions about before hand, yet I still found that when I studied the class notes only by following the questions he told us I got a 65.So text reading is prob more neccassery. Very awesome class. He is hysterical. Study exactly what he tells you to study and you will do fine. It is a little taxing trying to find some things he puts on his tests, but if you put in the time you'll do fine. Also write down every name he gives you and everything he says. This class is all about listening and taking good notes.

I cant understand why he gets graded so harsh on here. He gives 4 tests, 2 of them are 20 questions and he gives the answers to the questions. All you have to do is look them up and know what they mean. He also practically gives you answers during the test if you just go up to him and ask...easy easy professor.

He knows his stuff since he lectures the class from memory. However, I didn't like how arrogant he came off. Sometimes I thought he was funny, sometimes not. Interesting class, but I wasn't a fan of his tests, esp. the final. Some of the questions were conceptual which you can't study for. He WILL give you some answers during the quizzes though!

Professor Vaccaro is a great guy! Very funny! I have taken two classes with him and taking the third class with him in the fall. He is very understanding and tries to help you out as much as he can. I've taken many other Psych. classes at Hofstra and I learn the best when Professor Vaccaro teaches the class! Take him, he will def. help you learn!

2 quizzes and 2 tests make up your entire grade. So you truly have no room to mess up. However the tests come straight from the notes. No textbook use at all. He has a few interesting stories and is a bit condescending. I'm sure there are better psych professors but he wasn't terrible.

Very entertaining professor keeps you interested and the class itself moves from topic to topic at just the right pace where your learning but your not getting board. Great professor highly reccommended

Vaccaro can be very demeaning towards his students and say offense things. He makes an intro class too hard. 2 quizzes, a midterm, and final is your grade. Reading the textbook isn't necessary, but helpful. He is very funny, but I don't suggest him unless you're ready to work really hard. I am an A student & had to work my butt off for just a B.

Midterm, final, 2 quizzes. Vacarro tells you exactly what will be on the exams, question by question. This is very helpful. I got good grades on the midterm, final, and first quiz. I barely passed the last quiz and ended with a B plus. This was my only non A grade. The exams are pretty difficult despite him telling you the content. Just take notes.

He is hilarious and definitely is not difficult at all. If you want an easy A take him. He literally tells you exactly what information to study for that specific test, so its up to you to study. Take good notes because it is alot of information. If you go up to him during test he will hint the answer.

Class time is interesting, he's a great teacher, knowledgeable, and a very fair grader. Out of all the courses I've ever taken, he's one of my favorite professors for sure.
