Good teacher but appears to be burnt out from teaching lower level division survey classes. Show her hardwork and effort and she may give you the same.
If you try from beginning to end, she really cares about students. Except the ones late for class all the time or sleep in class, but that is just not proper to do in class and is disrepectful to her

She needs to teach Ms. Moore how to teach!
I wish you had been my instructor for lab. My lab instructor was very unclear and moody.
Excellent teacher
Very hard teacher but a good teacher. If you need anatomy for your degree, she is the best.

I would not take her she is a very poor teacher. This teacher does not like to answer questions. She acts as if students should know the material already. Her class is all notes. She has no time to teach because she is so busy writing notes. Always has a sour face and poor attitude just a drag for her and her students. VERY HIGH DROP AND FAIL RATIO.
She is a really great professor. She is very smart and really knows the material. She is always there for help and really wants her class to do well. If you do bad on a test she wants to find out why and to help you do better. She may seem mean but she really is great and respects hard work. great professor!
She goes extremely fast. If there are any questions about the material you better google them because she has no time to answer questions. The tests are extremely hard and seem tricky. There was not adequate time to take the test. Typically there would be a 20-30 second response time to each question. Her goal is to fail as many as possible.
This is a hard class and very high paced. However, Everything on her test comes directly from her notes, so be ready to write them word for word and you'll do fine. If you study, you'll have plenty of time to take her tests.
DO NOT TAKE any of Prof. Ellis's classes if you have slothful studying habits.... You will fail!!!! However, if you are diligent in keeping up with reading and studying her notes you will do very well in her classes..
She definitely knows her stuff, however, its hard to keep up with her in class.
Prof Ellis sometimes does not answer questions that the class may have. She is lienient about making up tests and stresses studying in order for you to succeed in her class.
I took anatomy with her and almost 1/3 of the class failed including me. I retook it with another instructor and passed with a 96/A. She wasn't very helpful and didnt seem to care if you didnt understand the material.
I would not recommend this teacher to anyone. She always seemed to get an attitude when anyone asked her a question. She was not very helpful, and her tests are really hard. If you want to pass, you need to study her notes very closely and do ALL of her study guides. Do NOT expect to pass if you do not know her notes front to back.
Horrible grammar. Barely studied at all and found the tests very easy (except the muscle matching, which was just stupid). Just know the notes and you will be perfectly fine. However, it's very obvious that she writes all the test questions (i.e. most of them suck). Not recommended.
Really not a nice teacher. She knows what she's talking about, most of the time. Tests are a awful representation of what's on the study guide. Hardly ever smiles, always frowning and writing on the board. Does NOT like questions.
She is by far one of the worse teachers I have ever had.
Horrible teacher. Looks at you like an idiot if you ask a question. i think the failure rate is somewhere along the lines of 95%. so if you are a nerd and want to xchallenge yourself this is the teacher to take. if your like me and have a life and dont study 5 hours a night then i would highly reccomend NOT taking this teacher.
I am a 4.0 student and her class was hard to me. Her lecture doesn't match her tests and it's like she's trying to trick you into failing by asking questions that are hard to comprehend. If I had to take this class again, I would rather become a ritual sacrifice than take her class.
Very hard teacher doesn't go by the lectures she says she does not teach by the book yet you have to buy a 200 dollar book.
estremely hard, test questions are confusing, like shes trying to trick you, dont take this teacher unless you want to study all term long. you have to study notes and weekly assignments front to back. lots of memorizing. dont take this teacher!!!
Do not take this class! She is like a drill Sargent with a really bad attitude! Gulf Coast College....hello?...do you read these at all? This is not your best instructor! She is abrasive, cold, uninterested, not at all helpful, and makes the students feel completely stupid when they ask a question! DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER! Run the other way!
All over the place. Exams don't seem to focus on study material. You'll get your test back and have to look literally 10 chapters into the book. Good luck, you'll need it.
Professor Ellis is completely uncommunicative; in a course that is online and web-based, she refuses to answer direct questions on subject matter from several students, not just me. She is condescending when she does rouse herself to reply, and provides little or no information relative to the question asked.
This women was awful.. If you had a question she would all but cuss you out.. and tell you that you could not think for yourself, material on test is not covered in class. Test consists of multiple choice questions in which there are two correct answers but you must pick the one she wants. Extrememly horrid teacher. Do Not Take Her!!!!
she was absolutely the worst teacher i have ever had in my life!!! her tests dont match the notes that she gives you and heaven forbid you ask her a question then you are treated as if you are a moron!!! she should not be allowed to continue with such a low success rate!!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all, I was extremely excited to start this class in the fall. The anatomy and physiology courses are critical to the field I hope to be practicing in. I willingly signed up for Ms. Ellis's class in spite of everything I had heard. Perhaps the reviews I had heard were from students who maybe did not take the class seriously or was not
I took Mrs. Ellis' online anatomy 1 class. First off I wouldnt take her class in person but def. not online. I watched videos taught by one prof. then had to take Mrs. Ellis' class. The things taught on the video was not on the test and no matter how hard I studied I couldnt seem to pass. I would email her about questions and she wouldnt explain it
Do not take this class. Funny that I barely pass and all my friends who have other teachers have all A's. There are questions on tests that were never covered, and when you ask a question, she makes you seem stupid. If you do take her, check your tests when you get them back, she will mark about 5 right answers wrong and will make you lose points.
This will be the THIRD time taking this class....(not because I'm stupid either FYI). there aren't any other teachers teaching this class which is ridiculous. she mumbles way too much and whenever you ask a question she either gets mad or looks at you like you're retarded. IF there is another teacher for this class, taken them instead!!!
Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Do not take Ellis! Not only is she a bad teacher that doesnt teach the proper material, she's doesnt even test you on the right material, therefore you will fail! More times than one did she have to take back up the test to remove questions and rescore tests, very unorganized! Very hard! DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!
exam questions do not follow study guide or videos. She expects you to memorize every chapter in the book.
AWWWWWFUL!!! Had to retake it the next semester...got a different teacher and did great.
Don't ask a question, she will bite your head off or make you feel completely stupid. She hates her job and seems to hate the subject. She has no interest in interacting with students and the study guides are horrible preparations for the test. The only thing that saved me in this class was the take home test. WHY IS SHE STILL TEACHING????
although i had to retake her class, the second time around i learned to study study study and you'll do fine. there is a lot of info you have to learn and i think that is why there is so much negative feedback (i had a lot of negative myself the first time around). just memorize the notes only and you'll do fine.
WHY IS SHE STILL TEACHING!? HORRIBLE HORRIBLE TEACHER! DO NOT take her by any means. Her notes do not follow her study guides, tests, videos, or the book! Take anyone but her!
Worst teacher ever.. Her tests have questions that she doesn't go over or provide information for. I am not going into the medical field so this class was very difficult for me to understand, but I passed the Lab class with an A... The only reason she's still allowed to teach is because she has her 10 year. She doesn't care about her students.
She really knows the subject! Most of the ratings on here have been mean and down right hateful. It is a fast moving class, STUDYING DAILY IS CRUCIAL! If you are willing to WORK HARD you will do fine. She was very nice to me and would answer any question I had. Would not recommend taking this subject as 6 week course!
She really knows the subject! This is a fast paced class and you will have hand cramps from taking the notes! DAILY STUDYING IS CRUCIAL! If you are willing to work HARD you will do fine. Would not recomend this class as a short semester choice. Most of the ratings have been hateful and mean, she was helpful and answered any question I had.
I took A&P I lecture and lab with Ms. Ellis this summer. She knows this material inside out, and she expected us to learn it when it was presented to us. It seemed impossible to process that much information in such a short period of time, but it is definitely doable! Ms. Ellis is clear, concise, and fair. This class is meant to weed out the dregs.
Took this class online over the summer. Ellis isn't the friendliest person, but if you have a question, she will help. Biggest complaint..make sure you review your tests during the review period. More than once there was wrong info given in lecture vids, causing me to select the wrong answer. Be prepared to study daily to do well.
I dont know what all these people are whining about.. Ms. Ellis is an excellent teacher...If you are used to being spoon fed then of course it will be difficult...but come on folks, this is college! She is very thorough and knows the material. Study hard and the class is a piece of cake!
This class is hard by nature. If you study then you will do well with her. The study guides for the tests are helpful in understanding the material but for her tests you must know every single details from the notes. Overall she is a great teacher for a very hard class. If you make it till the end then you know the material
This class brought my GPA down. I am a straight A student. I am not a whiner and do not mind hard work. About ¾ way through the course we were told study guides didn?t pertain to tests. There was no study guide for the final. Take general biology versus human biology if given the choice. Stray away from Ellis. She was crystal clear that you had to k
for below comment.....three fourths of the way through the semester the study guides apparently didn't fully pertain to tests...and she was crystal clear that you had to know the ENTIRE textbook and spend 30 hours a week to make an A.
TERRIBLE!She is unwilling to help and study guides and notes are useless. I have a 3.92 GPA and was very unsuccessful in this class. I believe that hard work pays off, but all the work in the world will not help pass this class unless you have a photographic memory and can memorize the text. She is unprofessional and biased as to who she helps.
Nice enough woman, but a terrible teacher. We didn't open the book once the entire semester. Her tests are based strictly on the notes she gives in class. Her language and grammar skills are severely lacking. On the notes and tests many words are misspelled. Her response to correction is " you know what I meant"! All in all very confusing!
Study guides were provided, but did not really relate to tests. If you are not there to take notes and cannot study the notes, as well as learn the actual concepts on your own, you will not pass. Forget making an A. You can pull one off until the final exam, then the final brings questions out of left field. It covers things NEVER in the notes.
I spent at least an hour EVERY day of the semester studying! I had an A up until the final, after the final (which I studied extensively for) I barely passed with a C! Questions on the final were never covered in the course! Can't say enough bad things about her! Avoid her at all costs!
You guys are crazy. Ms. Ellis was crystal clear in her expectations. She is always available if you have questions...you just have to go by & ask. Tests are hard but if you are going into the health field, it is extremely important to know the body and Ms. Ellis expects just that.
I don't understand what all these people are talking about. I took the 8 week accelerated online course and got an A. If you watch the videos and take notes on everything she says you will be successful. I didn't open the book one time. The class is challenging but if you take the time to study, you will do well. Do not procrastinate.
This was the worst teacher I have ever taken, I will not recommend her to anyone eles. The only way to pass is if you quit your job and only study for her class. The study guides do NOT help, dont even bother asking her because se will say "I wrote it on the board". I have never failed a class till now.I should have listen to what other people said
6 wk summer course-Took notes verbatim-studied reviews & online videos. She said do those 3 & we'd do good on the final. Questions out of left field on the Final NEVER talked about in class/video/notes. Tricky questions-worded very hard-high fail rate for her class. If no other choice-take her online-I studied 5 hrs/nite & missed alot on final
I really feel any positive comments about this lady's teaching style are phony. It's funny to read the same complaints my classmates and i had about her when I suffered her A&P class last spring and here I am still thinking about (and feeling irritated) by being robbed of any chance in this class. I swear she thrives on watching others fail. Awful!
Worst teacher I have ever had! The study guide is NOTHING like the test. If you ask a question in class, she will make you look stupid in front of everybody. She asked my class if we had any questions and the girl next to me raised her hand. She looked straight at her and said "anybody else have any questions?"
Very Very challenging would not recommend summer course. I would however recommend avoidance. Also on a side note accused me of having a cell out during lecture when I definitely did not. When I told her this she basically said I was lying and said she would keep a closer eye on me. Not very pleasant
You get what you earn in her class which she clearly states at the beginning of the semester. She clearly states that in most cases, the study guides have nothing to do with the test and she is very clear with the concepts she is teaching. You have to remember, if you are going into the medical field, no class will be easy. This is not highschool!
I like her. She was very clear and thorough with her lectures. The book was too confusing to try to use as a study guide. Her lectures, guides, and power points were the basics compared to the book information. I admit I had difficulty in the class only because it has always been my weakness. But as a teacher, I think she is very good.
Very knowledgeable about the course. Study guides match the tests. However, she gets into details a lot, and that is not very good for a 6-week summer class. I strongly advise to take a normal, long semester if you are going to take Anatomy and Physiology. And study HARD!
Good lecturer, extremely hard class. Dr. Ellis covers all tested material in class, no surprises, but there is TONS of material covered. You earn your grade here, no gifts. If you don't attend class, don't take detailed notes, or don't study outside class, then you will fail. No gifts here. A/P1 at GCSC separates the wheat from the chaff.
To put it simply, if you show up for class, pay attention, take the notes & study them, then you will have no problems. It is a lot of information, but I would guess that anyone needing to take her class is in a challenging program. You must have discipline. Plain and simple. You will get out of the class, what you put in. The grade will reflect
I took this class online and was not happy with her at all. Her voice is monotone and hard to pay attention to. The videos are helpful, just hard to pay attention to.
While the material is very interesting itself, I never knew a single professor could ever make me NOT want to learn a subject. Ellis just isn't teaching material. She is monotone, very inconsistant with helping her students, and most irratating of all she just seems like YOU, the student are a chore to her work.
This is a "weed out" class; that is the plain truth. Those who do not put in 100% will not make the grade they want. You can make an A, but you MUST work. She is not a bad teacher; she just doesn't coddle students the way they are used to with general ed courses. She will NOT tell you to read the book, but she shouldn't have to: you're in college.
She is not a very good teacher and she does not like you to ask questions and doesn't answer them clearly anyway
Very difficult to understand her videos. Notes and reviews are very misleading due to the amount of grammatical errors, misspelled words, and lack of syntax. I would highly recommend another professor if at all possible!
I took her A/P 1 course online and will use her again for A/P2. She made herself available to the students via email or office visits. She provided a lot of notes for you but you need to add notes to it that she provides in the videos. You MUST watch the videos and if you don't study then you are doomed. This IS a difficult class. I liked Ms Ellis
Professor Ellis knows the material, however, I could never figure out a clear path on what to study. We were told the test questions were based on lectures and lecture notes, however, there were many test questions that were not in lecture. I felt set up to fail. In the lab, I received an A in total recall tests, but I felt overwelmed in this class
The videos were hard to understand due to her pronunciations. I did not feel that she teaches the class, she recites information and you have to teach yourself. It was a lot of work to earn an A.
I recommend taking her class on-line because you can pause videos to take notes and catch up. All exams are at taken at home. She gives a study guide but she also gives extra info. You MUST add more notes. She was helpful and always answered emails. I'd take her again. Don't expect it to be easy. You MUST work and be disciplined. I made a B.
Good Teacher but expects you to work in the class.
Very helful and patient. always willing to help. Expects you to get the work done.
I followed the instructions given and did very well in this class. I had to work on it 3 to 4 times a week like a regular class in the classroom.
This is the first time I truly met a teacher who had no interest in helping or seeing students succeed in any way. This is a Humanities 3 required course for a general AA, I managed to get an A in it, but you have to use notes at all times. That's if you can even conceive meaning through her slurred video lessons. TAKE IT ONLINE. Trust me.
She is a hard teacher! I will be taking Gonshor from now. I advise you to take him. Ellis's videos can be confusing and she will write on the board and you can not see it!
I do not recommend taking her course, at least not without other means of maintaining the information she is "teaching". It's very hard to understand her, because of her accent, and she is not very helpful when you ask her. Plus half of the test is stuff that is NOT within her lecture notes (which she states she bases the test off of).
I took her human anatomy 1 online class. It was fairly easy, all tests and exams, including final are online.
This class was taken online, all quizzes and tests including the final are online. For the most part it was a pretty easy class, however some answers for the test are hard to find. She is very nice and always replies to emails quickly.
She will respond to emails quickly, but I made an 89.4 in her class and she still wouldn't round up to an A. Tests have many in-depth questions to them. Pretty hard course with a tough teacher.
Horrible "teacher"! 60% of grade based on hard tests, 15% on chapter quizzes, 25% on final (final has to be taken on campus). Only way to do well on the tests is to literally write down every single word she says and use notes at all times. My final grade was 89.48 and she wouldn't round up to an A. That was the highest grade in the class -__-
Worst professor I have ever had. It is almost impossible to study for any of her tests because none of the reviews or videos jive, not to mention the ridiculous amounts of grammar and spelling errors. She seems to go out of her way to make things difficult, and she is rude. She is NOT teaching materia. Do not take her class.
I HATE this class. It's a shame to say that, being that I was so excited for it. I am a nursing major, so A&P is the most important class I'll take, and she has managed to make me hate it. Terrible "professor". She gives a study guide for each exam and says that ALL questions on exam will come from it, but maybe 10-20% of them actually do.
Wonderful instructor. She give you all the information you need to be successful in her class. Its up to you to study it. I truly would recommend her to you.
Hardest class I have ever taken, and it was impossible to make an A in this class. Her tests are extremely hard and the study guides were almost pointless. You are pretty much on your own in the online class. I'd take any other professor, just not her. I emailed her to ask for help, and she never returned my email.
Review questions are not helpful for quizzes or test. Test are HARD with little time to complete them. I would truly not recommend this class. It is extremely difficult.
Dr. Ellis is a wonderful teacher. Human Biology is a tough subject that requires time to study and learn content.
Took the web-based A&P 2 and it was difficult to learn all of the materials online. Class is hard with a lot of material. Textbook is useless, must read off PowerPoints. Teacher was there to help but the way the information was set it made it pretty impossible to make an A in this class
Went to Ellis several times for help and she was always unwilling, irritated, discouraging and angry. She talks to everyone as if they are beneath her, which I find odd because a truly wise person does not deem themselves superior over everyone else. I never write reviews but she gave me such a horrible and awful impression I had to make it known.
Web course is extremely difficult. Her powerpoint/lecture videos are too fast, you have to pause constantly to keep up with the note taking, and don't cover much of what's on the exam. Tests and quizzes give you very little time to work. Never replies to emails.
Web A&P 2. None of material given for studying, i.e. notes or quizzes, even correlated with her long tests that were inadequately timed. Her PPs didn't line up with any test questions. She'd use terms that weren't in our textbook and expect us to know what they were. When I confronted her, she denied anyone ever needed help and I was the problem.
If you have the time to read the online book word for word, watch her hour long lectures, take notes, complete all the test at the end of the chapters and do all her reviews, youll probably still fail. Oh yeah and the exams and test are ridiculously timed. So if you have testing anxiety, good luck.
I took A&P online and her way of teaching was recording her 2 hour long lectures and uploading them as videos for her online students. She is not flexible at all if you need to take a test a day or two early because the tests are locked until the day of the test. After the test, you only have 3 days to review it before it locks again. Beware!
Supposedly a basic biology class, but that is not the case. Get ready to sit through several 40-minute monotone PowerPoint videos. The information discussed in the videos aren't always what is on the chapter quizzes. Also the quizzes and tests are TIMED. Giving you a short, unreasonable amount of time to learn the overwhelming amount of material.
Currently having to take her again for A&P II, but not excited about it. I asked one question about getting an answer wrong on a test and was told I seemed "privileged" and "hardly ever had to work for a good grade". Note I cited where I thought the correct answer was in the book, yet she made the rest of my time horrible. Don't take her class.
I ignored the other comments and gave this class a try because it is the only online anp1. Her test are timed. 55 minutes for 50 questions. Very hard to find answers. Very long lecture videos. I wrote down everything she said, printed her reviews out and searched through the book and still couldn't find some info I would have needed for the tests.
SO. MANY. POWER POINTS. Makes you sit through hour long monotone lectures while going through the power points. Tried to go talk to her and she wasn't helpful whatsoever.
She never responds to emails when you ask her for help. Doesnt follow through with her syllabus when she stated she will drop the lowest grades. Hours and hours of PowerPoints ... bad teacher in general.
Multiple choice tests at home w/ lockdown. Many questions with multiple right answers, typos, purposefully confusing wording. Quizzes are easy enough but tests have entirely different questions. She drops verbal hints toward test questions during her extensive, monotone lectures, usually about stuff not in the PPs, so listen up. Wouldn't recommend.
I do not recommend this professor at all ! I just took this class last semester in Georgia , but it didnt transfer so I decided to take her online class since I just took it and when I say nothing correlated and no matter how much you studied nothing helped in this class . She is not caring and she does not care if you fail .
Hard tests and quizzes , long boring video lectures , took the course online but I think it wouldnt have been any better on the classroom . Professor wont drop the lowest grade as it says on the syllabus , regretting deeply having taking this class with her.
Worst professor I ever had. The only learning tool was monotone, boring, often times incorrect lectures. Huge percentage of grade was ridiculously timed tests that contained trick questions. She was never available for help and was often rude. Avoid this professor at all costs.
I am taking Human biology online. The lectures are ok, structured well. BUT sooo many typos. I don't understand how a college professor doesn't care for grammar. Sometimes she mispronounces medical terms. Laryngopharrynx, for example, she says as laryndjopharynx. Really??? Tests include tricky questions, poorly worded. Arrogant lady.
SO. MANY. TYPOS. She can't even fix the grammar in her slide shows let alone pronounce things correctly. It's not clear what's going to be on the quizzes or tests. If you have time (which you probably won't) I recommend you need to read the textbook and watch videos on 1.5x, do all questions in the book, and review sheets. She simply doesn't care!
Had an A in the class until the final. The average grade for the final was 35 and the highest score was a 79. Speaks volumes whenever one student cannot even make a B on the final. Read the textbook. Lectures are dull and full of wrong information. Not a pleasant experience.
If you learn by doing, this is not the class for you. This is simply a memorize and repeat class. There is no actual learning going on. The lectures are impossible to listen to because she just reads PowerPoint's in a monotonous tone that makes you wan to pull your hair out. The tests are difficult and strictly timed. Ruined biology for me.
I have never felt compelled to make a complaint. The class was online only. She puts up lecture (usually 2) videos that are like 45 mins each and doesn't specify what to study. She uploads PowerPoint ad stars all 98 slides as important and her study guides have NOTHING to do with the exams.
Avoid at all cost. I had a 87 all semester. And bombed the final with a 61. My grade ended up a 79%. She doesnt round grades. Test very hard. Some questions are worded ridiculously. Hard class for no reason. AVOID AVOID AVOID. As a man Ive never been soo upset over a course. This time I cried because of grade. She didnt want to help either!
Just don't.
I took her for human biology during the summer. I read all these ratings and I really dont think she is that bad! She always sends out reminders for things coming up due which is really helpful. She replies back fast when you have a question as well
I took her class online. She record her lectures and they are a pain in the to sit through. Very drawn out and boring. A lot of the questions on the quizzes and test are not material she ever discussed and they do jot go along with the PowerPoint . Find another professor to Dave your GPA
If youve read through the rest of the reviews, they are 100% accurate. Very long power points with lots of diagrams that you have to memorize for the test. Would not recommend at all.
If you are looking to read and review material that will not be on the test then this is the class for you. I have no clue along with others when she gets her test questions from. There are a 5 test and a final. She will not work with you at all. Stay away from this professor!!!!
Her teaching style is pretty bad. I would read the book, do the lectures, do the review sheets, and study and still, she would have questions on the quizzes and tests that were never taught or given. She will not budge if you contact her with questions that are incorrect that she did. I would avoid this teacher at all cost.
Make sure you read the book. There are so many things on the tests that she does not cover in lectures or on PowerPoint.
You have 5 tests, and a quiz weekly. She drops the lowest test grade and a few of the lowest quizzes. Most of her quiz and test questions come from her PowerPoint, and sometimes from her lecture. She is direct and sends a lot of reminders about due dates. Overall this is just a class that will have a lot of info and memorization no matter what.
I had Dr. Ellis for A&P 1 and her class was tough. She was really good about sending emails reminding us on test due dates and other study tips. FAIR WARNING, this class is VERY chemistry based. I believe this class brings a wonderful intro to Chemistry, but it can be a little tough if you don't study.
STEER CLEAR. How on earth is she director of the health sciences division??? Her lectures are awful, contradicting to the book, and doesn't cover what she puts in her exams. She will not admit to being wrong about anything. Idk if her tests or lectures are outdated and she refuses to update them-- but they differ from the exams. DO NOT TAKE!!!!
Information overload!! The lecture videos are old and terrible quality. It's extremely difficult to hear/understand a lot of what is being said. You can't see anything on the videos either. There are also powerpoints but there is just SO much information, most of which is not tested on. The class is also VERY chemistry heavy.
The structure that this professor has for the online course is not the best for a science class. There are very little assignments (tests and quizzes) and there are very few course materials to ensure that we understand the materials. I'd avoid taking this class with this professor during the summer or for a session B, C, E class.
Don't take the class
Very unhelpful and rude. Took it online and while she has a strict schedule for quiz and test deadlines, they can be harrowing since you only have two to three days to study the material, the whole chunk of information within the chapter. Not easy when you're a full time student studying for other classes. Take in person if you can.
I would rather drink a bucket of red 40 dye than take this class again. The tests sometimes just threw questions that were not on the study guide or lectures, or be COVERED in tiny details and none of the stuff you would actually devote to memory. Study so hard just to make like a 60. Good luck if it's a required class.
Tough class with unclear expectations and monotonous lectures. Utilize unstuck ai, the textbook, and review sheets to prepare for demanding tests. Attendance is a must, but professor's lack of care makes this an avoidable class if possible.
Ms. Ellis is the worst professor I have ever had as far as getting a response back goes. I sent multiple emails across the entire semester and didn't receive a response for a month and counting. There are questions on the test that directly contradict the textbook, or are just absent entirely from the study guide. Do not take this class.
Took her Anatomy 1 online and she not great. Terrible about responding to emails. She will not open a test early even if you are on a cruise with no wifi. Her test questions frequently directly contradict the textbook and the internet. Does not truly teach but more spouts info at you and then tell you to study a study guide which doesn't help.
Probably the worst class I've took so far. Very lecture and test heavy. And the tests don't always follow the textbook. Avoid this class if you can.
I believe Professor Fledia Ellis is underrated here. The courses are taught with the strictness of STEM, but she's not made of stone. One of the more fair Natural Science professors, expect to do what you're supposed to, and you will learn vital information.
Horrible…. Lectures and PowerPoints are 100 slides long. She's all over the place. She's very smart and very passionate. She seems to love her job. Her test are wordy and hard to understand
I had her for human biology, and she was a very bland person in general, first of all. She does not give you assignments, rather throws loads of powerpoint slides at you and uses outdated, usually flawed lectures. She was a very short and rude person the few times I tried to contact her. If you don't have to, do not take her.
Avoid this college professor
AVIOD AVIOD AVOID!!!!!
Took online (my only option). The reviews are true. Speaking to her did not help. Her advice: "You must memorize entire lectures/slides." "quizzes are supposed to be "easy" & I should be able to ask you anything." *The study guides DO NOT HELP. The test have trick questions & the questions are worded strangely. Only quizzes+5 exams+ final.
Okay so this professor is absolutely boring even on 2X speed. I always watch my lectures three times and I am good to go. With her I taught myself. It's like having a substitute teacher. 11, 15min quizzes, 4 exams. Looking for bare minimum? this might be it for you. BUT if you're looking to actually understand and retain pick a diff professor.
This Professor is just bad at teaching. She will mention things in her lectures (which are boring and don't keep your attention) that aren't included in the study guides or slides and then test you on those. The study guides don't help. She really needs to restructure her curriculum or quit because she isn't really “teaching” anything. AVOID
Genuinely wanted to understand how the body works on a more complex level. Unfortunately, test are only multiple choice, yet the lectures, study guides, and extra credit do NOT match the format we're actually graded on as they are diagram heavy. 17 quizzes, 5 exams, 5 bonus assignments-only 7points each. Only cares about rote recall, doesn't teach.
Her teaching is very old school, just reads off the powerpoint. She just expects you to remember 100+ slides. She'll post review questions and then none of that material will be on the test. I made quizlets, printed out the review questions and wrote out answers, studied for hours and only made 1 good grade on all 5 exams. She's difficult.
