She is a good teacher. Basically, classes consist of lecture and she has all the notes on Powerpoint. There are no tests, just take-home essays.
if you want to take a nap this is the most boring teacher ever but it's all take home essays so if you can stand to be bored out of your mind it's rel easy
This class is very easy and very boring there are only take home esaays
Easy class. Only two take home essays, a few online quizes that gives you the answer and no test!!
the essays are challenging
Speaks VERY softly and monotone. Boring. Easy to pass the class because there are no tests, all grades are based on take home essays.
I think she is very nice and knowledgable. A very caring and understanding instructor. I learned a lot from her class.
The worst teacher..boring ...being in this class is like being in prison for 75 minutes.
she is sooo boring!!!
boring but easy she gives you essays for tests
She is very nice and has intresting lectures. Three take home essays (there not easy, but she offers lots of help). 14 online quizes from the book. She wants students to succed and makes it known from the begining of the semester. I love her!!!!!
She means well and is very sweet, but her classes are very boring. After 16 weeks in class, I can say that I didn't really learn much. Online tests are a breeze, but take-home essays can be challenging.
makes the subject verry interesting
very good instructor, very patient and extremely knowledgeable. The take-home tests are very difficult, but the online quizzes are piece of cake. Get ready to be BORED though. BORED TO DEATH!
Ms. Baker, Is a very nice, calm, professor. If someone needs help she always gives her best to make sure they understand.

Really easy teacher. Helpfull too.
This teacher is really nice and helpful. Her lectures can be really boring and long but the class itself is easy. The online quizzes really easy and the essays are kinda tough but manageable.
This was the easiest classes I have ever taken online test that you dont turn in untill you get an A come on.
This class is kinda boring but very easy. The 3 take home essays are easy and the online quizzes are simple because you dont turn them in until you get an A.She is also vey sweet.
History of Early Britain is boring unless someone makes it fun - not saying she can make it fun, but palatable. No in-class testing and "History as a Story" kind of style, Dr. Baker can help anyone achieve an "A" in History. Great class - recommended highly.
boring. but no tests in-class, lot of papers, but easy assignments. all her notes she gives you in-class are on her website...so you can just sit back and doodle.
she was a really good teacher.
she is the easies teacher for history that ive ever had she/gives no homework and only three tests the whole semester including the final and the lowest test gets dropped/shes a little boring but it doesnt matter when the class is an easy A or B
She is really nice, fair, but incredibly boring. I wish attendance didn't count towards our grade because I would never have come to class. The notes are available online and the assignments are self-explanatory.
i don't think she is very organised but other than that cool teacher
Boring teacher. All her notes are off the internet. There's also on-line quizzes. Has a low voice, meaning it's hard to hear sometimes.
Very sweet, if ur guna b absent more then 3 times just tell her why and what the problem is, she trusts you and will excuse your absences. Lectures are boring, she grades the essays pretty hard, the online quizzes are a guaranteed A, she always smiles and is just so cute. Hardly ne h/w.
She can't hear - she is ambiguous in the extreme about assignments - if you can take someone else you are MUCH better off. I thought I was doing GREAT until the grades were posted and I received one full letter grade less than I was lead to believe. Find someone who will let you know just what you have to do and then stick with being fair!
I took both history classes and to be honest she is so cool. I turned in all my essays late and still got a B in her classes. She is so understanding about real life - like work and parenting and the time conflict.
at first, I was really interested and paid much attention.. it made it helpful that I could barely hear her .. hehe she makes the class seem like it's going to be hard at the beginning but really it's not hard as other classes. I spent about 3 hours on the book the whole semester, and 2 hours on the internet doing her quizzes, and 1 hour on her tes
I took two of her classes...GREAT TEACHER!! There are no tests, just essays. She's tough on grading, but I truly feel like I got a great education from her...enough to come back for more. I would reccommond her to ANYONE!! Sometimes, the class is boring, but she puts a fun twist on things. You won't be sorry with Dr. Baker!!
She's a great teacher, she lectures mostly and the reading is up to you. The final exam is actually an essay, there is hardly any homework, we watched a lot of videos in class the hole course went smooth, she speaks really softly so sit up close!!
She's very nice, though a little bland. Managed to make the Vikings boring. However, she gives you lecture notes and is extremely clear about assignments and her grading, so it's a pretty easy class. If you at least act respectful and pay attention, she will like you and be willing to help.
Mrs. Baker is awesome. she will help you.
Im going to be the most helpful comment:The class is kinda dry, however, her videos are interesting. She is a VERY NICE lady.If u need help, u can just email her, she hooks it up. Her quizes are easy 100% guaranteed.THE CLASS GRADING IS HARD.75% OF THE CLASS DROPS OUT because they cant handle the way she grades essays. An easy B,challenging for an A.

Not boring, thing is, most of the classes are 3 hours 1/week. She is Dr. , knows everything in&out. Awesome teacher, not hard at all. No tests, essays only. If u are weak in writing, take a english class before this class. Breakdown is 3 essays ~25-30% 25%quiz/other. quizes are guaranteed 100% just do them. well dressed very clean, not bad at all.
Professor Baker is a good teacher. She is very enthusiastic & passionate about her history classes! She lets you do extra credit to bring up your grades. The online quizzes are a breeze! :)
This class is very uninteresting. Ms. Baker talks non-stop for an hour an a 1/2. So many people come and leave, after they sign in and she will stop in the middle and tell them how rude that is, so yea, I gladly am proud I never did that. Quizzes guaranteed, but the essays are very harshly graded. I Worked so hard on mine and got a D!
Very nice, but soft spoken. Sometimes hard to hear what she is saying. Uses powerpoint and handouts for lecture. Online quizzes very easy. DOWNSIDE: she is a very hard grader on the essay's. I was shocked when I got my first essay back. Dont understand her grading method.
Beware of the essays! She teaches very little so she seems easy, but she grades rough on the essays. Has no real grading method, all I can recommend is to WRITE GOOD ESSAYS and follow directions. That is the class.
If you can stay awake, you can get an A. Take detailed notes, do the online quizzes, and use your brain on the essays.
She's hard of hearing so she doesn't realize she speaks a little quietly. There are only the online quizzes and 3 essays graded for the class. DO WELL ON THE ESSAYS!! The format is really straight forward & I thought it was easier then other classes. She'll help you if you're having trouble. It might be boring to some but I enjoyed the class overall.
Everyone is so incredibly rude in her class. She can't hear well so she speaks very softly. But her lectures are very interesting and she's truly passionate about the subject. 3 take-home essay exams and 2 online quiz bulks. She's a very hard grader, but fair. 5-10 extra credit options. Take your Starbucks and take notes to avoid dozing off!
she was a wonderful teacher and made her class very simple. all tests are essay format but take home. she speaks softly so i would suggest to sit close to the front of the class. made history of world religion very interesting.
It's almost impossible not to fall asleep.
Took her for fall '09 semester. Grade is based on 3 take-home essays, online quizzes (EASY points, can be retaken as many times as possible), and attendance. Difficult to stay awake in class. Took some notes, barely pulled off an A. just make sure you can type essays that have accurate history and is a somewhat wellwritten essay. just follow format
DO NOT take anyy of her classes! my friend and i took two different historys and both wanted to gouge your eyeballs out! all she does is talk, talk, talk, talk!!!!! its almost impossible to not fall asleep! her lectures are SO boring, no homework so everything is based on your quizzes and tests! SERIOUSLY DO NOT TAKE ANY OF HER CLASSES!!!!!! fml!
She lectures for hours on end and LITERALLY WILL NOT STOP until time has run out she soemtimes even goes over because she doesnt realize that sjes been talking for and hour and a half. i wrote 5 pages in a notebook once while she was lecturing about how much i wanted to just die. i literally wanted to rip my ears off and throw them at her!!!!!!!!!!
She is incredibly boring. however, she isn't hard to pass. She helps you out ALOT if you ask her. Take her if you can take having 1 hour& a half of her talking over&over.
She's a sweetheart, yes, but if you're not a morning person and/or a history buff, then in my opinion it's hard not to fall asleep during her lectures. Bring starbucks, for sure!
The class is alright, just history of how religions formed, ot much depth of the different belief systems. She's low voiced and it isn't uncommon for people to doze off. The class isnt that bad though, only assignments are 3 papers. She's always willing to help classmates and isn't bad.
:]nice sweet lady. very very helpful, took her and got an A. homework? i mean she gives you the answers. Great and passionate professor. Talks a lot but she knows her stuff. Office hours-> always available to help.
She's super sweet and nice, the only problem is that her voice is kinda low so sit in the front! Not recommended for morning classes. It's the very first class in all my school years that I've dozed off in. I really try not to. Easy but do well on the 3 essays. DO NOT BS the essays. I've done WELL BSing in advanced English classes. Not here.
Do NOT take this class, please do yourself a favor. By far the most boring teacher I have ever had in my life. Prepare for a lecture of her non stop, monotone, quiet voice and as much as you try to pay attention, I can assure you its impossible. Essays are somewhat easy but the last one is like 12 pages, just pass on this one.
An easy A if you do the work and do it well. She is a wonderful teacher and has the most compassion and understanding for her students. She is going deaf so patience?s is asked on your behave. I RECOMMEND her.
If you find history boring then pick another teacher. She goes into detail about history and answers any questions clear. My only issue is that she sometimes goes on passed when class ends which is annoying. She's nice as long as you pay attention. Good teacher if your into listening to lectures and writing papers.
As others have noted: you can hardly hear her speak. Maybe she shouldn't be teaching if she can't speak loud enough to be heard. Her essay grading is utterly absurd. I'm an A essay writer in every other class - got a D on her essay - and it took her til I could only drop with a W on my record to return it. Seems nice until you question her. AVOID
Class is very easy. Please respect her, she is going deaf. Even tho I didn't pay much attention in class, when i'd ask a question she was extreamly helpful and very explanatory. Overall grades are based on 3 take home essays(midterms) and two online quizzes. VERY EASY CLASS, but may be boring at times.
Although this teacher's assignments aren't difficult, she has a very strange policy for the midterm and final exams. They are take-home essays with no intro, no conclusion, no outside sources, and no quoting. These two assignments make up a big part of the semester, and they are nearly impossible to understand. Everyone had a hard time with these.
Pretty easy class but she doesn't make it interesting. She gives you an outline and then repeats whats on said outline word for word. Extremely boring. Does not bring new material to the table. In my opinion do not go to her unless you need the credits and an easy class to pass
Professor Baker is awesome! That doesn't mean her class is easy though. The class consists of three take home essays and she grades hard on them. However if you visit her during her office hours and present her an outline, it really does save your grade! Although her class may get boring at times, I recommend her (there's not too much outside work)
Sweet lady. Students are rude even after she explained that she suffers from poor hearing. Even so, she's very helpful. I do agree it could get boring, but just as boring as any other lecture could be. Her class is easy. All needed is some common sense and taking her take home exams seriously.
First thing, sit in front of the class. She doesn't make you go to the board or look at you for answers. She doesn't talk loud but the information she provided is vital for your reports. People who sat in the back usually scored low because of not paying attention. She is very helpful during office hours too.
Dude.. I loved this class, this is the kind of class students hope for in college. All you have to do is go in and listen, that's it! She knows her material...only 3 papers which she grades fairly and you have 2 weeks to write at HOME, never any homework. This is the kind of class that allows you to focus on your other harder classes. I loved it!
Good teacher, nice lady but it is extremely boring in her class. I never really used the textbook snd she goes over a bit of the class time to get her point across.
Just don't. Do yourself a favor and skip this class. A: Boring B: Boring C: you're going to have to do one of the dumbest essays ever.
She is VERY VERY helpful and very nice, but SO boring. Seriously, I have no idea how many times I fell asleep in class. No point in listening to her lectures, because she rambles on and ON. Just use the book and you will pass, easily. Everything is take home, even the final. Super easy, though she grades kinda strictly on the format for papers.
She is a very sweet lady, but her class is extremely boring. I don't think there was a day that I didn't fall asleep. She has take home quizzes that are pass/fail (3+ wrong means no credit) and three papers that are graded fairly hard; very few As given out. The class overall had little work. Use the book; her lectures are pointless.
talks very low, everyone falls asleep in this class. BORING. her essays r absolutely ridiculous and so is her grading. got a D on the first one. only use textbook for essays. gives u outlines of lectures, first bad thing cus makes students lazy. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS.
All I have to say out of all the history professors this one is the one I felt most comfortable with and she is a sweet lady and is willing to help you with whatever you need and she's smart too! Yeah people complain saying she's boring um she is not there to entertain you she is there to teach and help you be a successful student!
Okay after taking two semesters with this professor at first I liked her because she gave me a C for the overall grade because I tried but after the second semester I have to agree that she is a very hard essay grader! If you don't follow her guidelines she will give you an F right on the spot it's hard to hear her talk so students don't do well
She is a nice lady and helpful but her essays are hard! Basically when you do her essays she wants you to do it the way she wants you to like the whole thing and its stupid that in the midterm and final no introduction or conclusion which is pretty dumb! I am not surprised that half of the class dropped her class in the middle of the semester!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. You will fall asleep every class and never want to attend. Her style of teaching is poor. Makes you take the quiz for the section so you already know everything about the chapter, then she hands you the notes and THEN lectures the whole hour and a half about the subject you already know very thing about. DO NOT TAKE!
SHE IS THE WORST PROFESSOR! I love History but she ruined it for me.....I learned more of history 141 in my HISTORY 101 class. plus she makes you feel stupid when you give her your opinion...AND! she is not clear on what she wants on her essays. DO NOT. I REPEAT. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!
She is a really tough grader on everything, she didn't give me a B I earned a B..... you get the point
I think she is pretty fair and nice when it comes to grading essays like if she sees you try your best when doing her essays then she will give you a good grade on it! But I have to agree she does grade the essays hard but that's because she just wants you to become a better essay writer! Her lectures in my opinion are very interesting and calm!
I think she is a really nice professor! She really is willing to help you with whatever you need and yeah it is true she grades essays not so easy but she is definitely fair when it comes to grading it! I recommend her the class is relaxing and all you do is take notes and listen to her lectures so you can do well in her essays it is not hard!
Dry, dry, dry would be the best way to describe this professor. She's very knowledgeable about the subject at hand, and she does enjoy it, but every class is a lecture, and a very dry lecture at that. Expect to be staring at powerpoint presentations 90% of the time and videos the other 10%. Otherwise, only a few papers with tough but fair grading.
She is a very nice professor but a very hard grader and picky when it comes to the essays.. The essays do not make sense it is very confusing to do and it is hard to do them when a professor wants to put it in your own words! You will be doing just a midterm essay, research paper ad a final essay that is pretty much it!
After taking several semesters with her now I can see that she is not a very easy professor! Get ready to do the hardest and most confusing essays either and the style of teaching is so poor you will not learn all the facts about history with this quiet professor when it comes to lecturing all she does is read off her notes which is from the book..
Got an A on a paper, got a -B on another and I ended up with a B I was so dissapointed. Do not take!!!!!
This was my first college class and I really enjoyed it. She does get a little boring sometimes and hard to hear. She has 3 major essays that make up your grade and they are not easy. So don't wait till the last minute to write them. Not many homework assignments and she gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, so take advantage of them!
She is a tough grader but at least if she sees you trying hard she will give at least a C and that is what I like about her! She truly cares for her students which is true but beware the essays are going to be hard because she is picky about how you do them and the format of the essay!
I worked hard and she still gave me a B, she is a terrible teacher and her lectures are terrible she assigns papers and gives no clarity. Do not take
Love this class! However I love history, so her long lectures are fine by me. Only take home tests that she grades tough but very fair. She encourages people to go to her office hours so she can help. Great class.
We had 2 midterms which she grades super hard, but as long you put in work towards the papers you'll be fine. her online test are super easy and there are a total of 4.
She's an intelligent, knowledgable professor. Her lectures are really long and can get quite boring especially because that's almost all you do aside from a few videos. Baker is really nice and helpful if you ask her though, and she doesn't give any tests, only essays, but they count for most of your grade. She gives e.c. for decent attendance too.
She's a really nice, approachable professor who really pushes you to see her during office hours and will help with all of the assignments she gives, but her in-class lectures are really dry. She wants the assignments done her way, so pay attention to what she says about it. Be patient with her bc she's not the best at public speaking.
Wouldn't suggest taking her. All lectures and she gives two essays for the entire semester. There's a few extra credit opportunities but they don't help. She assigns essays but is unclear on what she wants it on. Kind of regret taking her class.
I'm in her 162 class, and she is super nice, but this has to be one of the most boring classes I have ever been in. Lectures the entire class period, and goes long every day it is almost impossible to stay awake. No tests just papers and she grades really tough make sure to follow all instructions. I would avoid if you just want to pass.
All tests are take home test. There is one assigned research paper and midterms and finals are all essays. Her lectures may be a little hard to concentrate, but it will help you write papers.
Go tor office hours and you will surely pass
