good prof. not to hard or to easy. Do the project and read the book. make sure you memor. where each type of acount goes (it is a debit or a credit) that will help a lot if you do.

Wonderful professor. Her real world experience makes her class a pleasure and relatable to real life. She is an asset to BCC and makes accounting interesting. She is also interested in the success of her students by offering extra resources....

Hard but worth it. I learned a lot.

Great teacher, i took managerial and financial accounting with her. Did well in both. Notes are easy to understand if you pay attention in class. Tests are hard but if you study it there not bad.

I had her and failed her. Her notes were good and she knew about the subject matter, but the test's were extremely hard. That's what killed me. But besides that, she is a good professor.

Very good professor. Assigns projects that are related to real world work. Homework assignments are important to pass test. Test are not difficult if you do homework and study book. Took her for all Financial, Managerial, Intermidiate Acct.

Excellent Professor. Yes, there is work involved but she is clear to explain and always willing to answer questions. You can't get by without reading the text in this class but pay attention to the lectures because there you'll find the exam material.

She's a great teacher. Yes, she does give a lot of work and her tests can be a bit tough but she prepares you well for the fuuture. If you really care about learning or accounting or finance is your major definitely go for her!!

Great professor! Material is hard but she is very helpful. Her classes are interesting and funny. You can learn a lot but you have to pay attention and read a book. Do the homework and study hard for a tests and you will be fine. Take her if accounting is your major.

Best Accounting Teacher at BCC. Goes out of way to help students. Very patient and understanding.If you put an effort forward the lowest grade you'll get is a C. Do the HW its a huge part of your grade. Students bad at Acc can still do well in her class. Go to her office hr.

If you are a business major who is only looking for credits,do not take her. If you are a serious accounting student, take her. A hard teacher, but worth it.

Excellent professor, for those achieving an accounting major, you will have to study hard, and be prepared for every class. But the effort is worth it.

I don't know why everybody is bad mouthing her. I think she was a great teacher. I took her hybrid class. She explained everything so clearly and made it easy. If you don't read the chapter at least once, you will be lost, do poorly on the homework and quizzes, and probably fail. Its a lot of work but you will learn so much. I loved her.

Fair, and Flexibile within reason. Her knowledge of the industry is strong and class was a breeze since the website calendar was updated consistantly.

shes really not that bad people just need to realize that accounting is a hard subject and requires a lot of work. i think i put more effort in this class than any of my others and i got a B. sucks but whatever. took her half online half in the school, worked out well. be prepared to study A LOT and take a lot of quizzes. exams are difficult.

I took the course online,it is hard,you have to study a lot,but she's good and she'll answer any questions and help you.Quizzes every week but the exercises are from the book plus the homework and postings.2 Projects.The exams are hard,but she will give you opportunity to recoup before final exam. Good and fair professor.

There is homework and quizes, but she utilizes online and you do it all online and she drops the lowest one. But, those are only 20% or so of your grade. The exams are the difficulty. The exams are pretty hard and she will review for each exam. All exams are taken online except final. She even tells you about the internet. So use it.

NOT an easy class, but a great teacher! There are 4 tests which are worth 60% of your total grade (they are hard), 15% HW (weekly), 15% Discussion (weekly), 10% Group Project. She is available for extra help and will work with you if you show an interest. Those giving poor reviews were probably the ones on Facebook or ESPN while she was teaching:)

Oh come On! I felt compelled to comment on this professor after seeing all of the bad reviews. Prof. McGovern is a good professor. She clearly lays out what is expected in the syllabus. If you follow the syllabus and READ the chapters you will have no problems. I agree that the class is hard, but accting is a hard subject. I?m taking Fin. Acct

Dont listen to what others say she is a good professor. Took her online & yes there is HW, 2 sets of discussion questions for every chapter but its an online class & she needs to know you get the material. Dont understand, ask! She is very clear on what she expects! Accounting isnt easy, & taking it online is even harder but she makes it a breeze!

This professor makes financial accounting easy. She is a pro. I could never understand Fifo/Lifo inventory until I took her class and I am not even a great student. Now I know that principle as if it was ABC

She is very helpful I took for for 2 accounting courses @ BCC and i looked it fin 101 and inter. acct 1. these were not easy classes but she help me through it a lot

Professor McGovern is very nice and helpful. It's Accounting, you need to pay attention or at least have an understanding. she can explain but you may still not get everything. She is very funny and always happy. I enjoyed her class! Take her!

She is a great teacher! makes a lot of fun in class. She is challenges you all the time which make you study more and pay attention on class. I learned a lot and I definitly feel that I diseve it! Looking forward to take her i the future!

I really enjoyed Professor McGovern's class. She is such an intelligent lady and you can tell she really cares about her students. She always answered emails and asked if we needed any extra help. There were 5 exams and forums and homework assignments weekly. You have to work hard to pass definitely. Would take again!

I've taken Professor McGovern for Financial Accounting online for Summer 1. She was awesome. Very helpful and explained things well. If you messaged her, she would responded back within a few hours, if not right away. Being that it was an online class and accounting can be tough, she made it very easy to learn. I would absolutely recommend her.

She is a nice person but she doesn't teach concepts clear enough. She zooms through the chapter and then just does problems for the rest of the class. I wish she would teach the whole chapter in powerpoints like my financial accounting professor did. Not the greatest accounting professor in the department, but still learned a good amount in class.

She is really helpful. Always answers your emails right away. The subject is hard, and there is a lot of work for this class but the work itself is not bad. Every week there are postings, homework and quizzes, and 4 test. I would definitely take her again.

I don't understand why she received so much negativity. The class wasn't hard and I thought she was a great professor. She was helpful if you had questions and she responded promptly to emails. There were 11 HW assignments, 12 Orion modules, and 4 tests. Everything was on WileyPlus, so you need the access code. I also recommend the textbook.

Just do your work and you'll be fine. She responds quickly to your emails and is a fair grader. Just do your part and you'll get an "A".

The summer 2 online class was pretty easy. TONS of homework but she lets you go ahead unlike some online professors that open an assignment weekly. The Orion is basically extra credit, you pass as long as you attempt all 40 questions. The rest is on WileyPlus. No weekly discussion forum which was a lifesaver.

I took Prof. McGovern for both ACC-110 & ACC-210. She is truly a great teacher, who conveyed the material in a way that was easy to interpret and understand. Her real life stories, and past work in the accounting field adds to what already amounts to an awesome course.

Not sure how this website has given her such a bad wrap. Shes a great professor although there is a fair amount of homework. If you can do the work and get through the chapters and do the work you should have at least a B. Highly recommend for anyone in an accounting program.
