Flo was an awesome teacher! She made the class and the info so much fun to learn! She gives you her lecture notes and takes material from that for tests. Her analogies were fantastic and it made it so you could remember them while taking her tests. If you study hard and pay attention in class this class is an easy A!!

This was her first time teaching this class, and she did a magnificent job. The material is really boring, but she is very passionate about it. The first prelabs are daunting, but that tapers off. You will spend 3 hours or more on many of the postlabs. Study her slides, do the questions at the end of the chapters in the book, get an A. Pretty easy.

This was a really hard class, but Flo did everything she could to help us learn the material. She was always available outside of class to help with the material (she even helped us get a study group together). I would take another class with this professor anytime!

I absolutely hate science with a passion, but Flo made me love it. She is so interesting & fun. She is genuine & wants all of her students to make an A. I found it helpful to pay attention to her lectures. Tests are fairly easy, you just have to study the review she gives. I would take her for ALL my sciences classes. Best professor hands down.

She started off one class singing The Big Bang Theory theme song to introduce that day's lecture. The book is helpful, BUT her lecture notes are on the site for download and EXTREMELY CLEAR. I was on my way towards a career in nursing until I took her class, now I'm pursuing Biology. "Flo" is the single greatest professor I've ever had. Yesterday she held a tutoring session that lasted 8 hours for whoever wanted to come, even if you weren't in her class. Did I mention it was on a Saturday? And that she spend $60 to buy us all pizza?

I love Dr. Flo! She's like a kindergarten teacher for adults. I mean that in the best way possible. She gives you candy if you participate in class, we made DNA out of twislers and marshmallows, and she would hold your hand through the entire class if you needed her to. She makes science fun, it's very well organized, and she is adorably nerdy!

I never cared for any type of science class until Professor Oxley!!! She made biology fun and easy(ier)to understand. This class does require a substantial amount of studying if you want an A (I used flash cards), but the tests are set up to make sure you really grasp the information so make sure to study thoroughly. I'm taking her again for A&P.

She doesn't get too deep about subjects but gives you all you need for the tests. Easy class if you show up everyday and study a little outside of class.

Amazing teacher. This is my second time taking this class and I was finally able to understand the physiolgy stuff. Dr. Flo is able to make really hard things easy to understand. She relates stuff to regular things and is more than willing to go over stuff during office hours if you don't get it in class. Am trying to get in her AP 2 class.

Tough class, great teacher. Totally scared to take this class, but Flo made it easy to understand the materials. Provides review materials before each exam and lab practical. Was always available to help even when it wasn't her regular office hours (she met me at a Starbucks near where I live. Had to buy her a cup of coofee, but that was OK.).

Took this class online and attended labs with Dr. Flo on Saturdays. Would not have passed this class without her. Before every lab, she would give a 15-20 minute lecture over the week's material and tied it into the lab exercises we were supposed to do that day. Will never take another online biology course, but will take another class with her.

Dr Flo is literally sent from heaven! I took her for Bio 1406 in the summer. Yes it was a lot of work but trust me I learnt more from her than when I took bio 311c at UT (which I dropped). Dr. Flo is a good professor, but her class is hard. As long as you do the homework and assignments you will be fine. Also, study objectives very well before the test, because what ever is covered on the test is just all from your objectives.

Dr. Flo is amazing, and she will meet with you to help you understand mistakes--so take advantage of it! She gives extra credit. I would recommend getting a tutor outside of class due to the overflow of information to learn and master. Study groups are great. It is a lot of material.

Dr. Flo taught the lab portion of my A&P 1 class. She really wants us to learn and emphatically encourages her students to ask her for help when they need it. She knows her stuff and is open to feedback from students and is willing to make adjustments if they will help students to master the material.

Professor Flo is overall a great person who cares about her students. She makes the information understandable. She is pretty disorganized with her grading and I bugged her a million times to fix incorrect grades. Other than incorrect grades and running behind sometimes, she was a great professor and person. She has proficiency checks. 4 unit exams. 1 comprehensive exam (can be used to replace a low unit exam grade). She has notes & objectives which will definitely help. ASK QUESTIONS!! Prof. Coley is a great professor. If you do the study guides before her lectures, it makes the class extremely easy! She likes participation and rewards you by giving extra points on tests. Do the study guides, show up for lectures and it will be very easy to earn an A in her class.

I lOVE flo! She Genuinely cares about her students, and does the very best she can in helping them. The material we cover is very hard, but she gave us most of the material we needed to understand. She does make you think, and earn your grade. I would re-take flo again if i could.

She challenges you but makes BIO understandable for everyone that wants to learn. The outlines and PowerPoint helped with all the exams. I recommend using all that and using Quizlet.

Dr. Flo is an amazing professor! Even online, her lectures are really fun and I actually learned stuff, haha. She provided notes for us to fill during her lectures which is also what she based her test questions on. Ask questions, keep up with your notes, also make a class groupme in case you don't. A science course that includes a lab is hard to teach online and keep students engaged without being hands on. I think Dr. Flo did a great job with turning her course materials into online content and to keep this course as normal as possible for all students.

Exams reflected material discussed in class, which has not been my experience with other professors. Would take her class in a heartbeat.

This was an 8 week course that turned into a 7 week course because of weather. Hardest class I've ever taken. The ONLY good thing about the class was Dr. Flo. She kept us on track, was flexible with deadlines, and ALWAYS available outside of class. She even met with me on a Sunday to talk about grades. Squeaked by with a C. Thank you, Dr. Flo.

If you did show up to class, she'd give extra credit at times. Homework assignments and quizzes are through Mastering A&P. Which helps because the test have some of the same questions. She was fast at responding emails.

I took her for an 8 week summer class. It was tough, and she makes you work for that grade, but she has student notes you can fill out during lecture along with videos. There are times there wrong info is put out, so don't be afraid to point it out. Also offers points that can be used to the test itself.

Prof. Oxley is an excellent lecturer (thorough, entertaining, encourages questions and discussion). All the information that you need for the labs/quizzes/exams are presented in the lectures. Quizzes and labs are helpful study tools for the exams. She grades fairly and the work load is manageable. Would absolutely take another class with her!

Botany 1411: Dr. Flo is amazing! She is fair, caring and wants you to pass her class. Take her class, just not on line. We had many technical issues with ever changing due dates, making this class very stressful. It's a lot of information, but the quizzes were very helpful for the exams. She also offers extra credit for participation.

If a student was still having trouble, she invites (makes) you come to her office hours and works with you one on one. If you can't come to her office hours, she will make time to meet you.

I love this professor! Her lectures were easy to understand even when the material was hard, and she always made time for questions. Lectures and student notes were posted online. Would let you follow her down to her office after class if you couldn't make her office hours.

Dr. Flo is the best science teacher at ACC. There were people in my class driving all the way from Round Rock to Hays campus for a 7:30am class because she is worth the drive. There was a book but it doesn't matter if you read it. All that really matters are the lectures & power points. Study from the Power Points and do the practice exams.

Dr.Flo is one of the best teachers Ive ever had. The class is not easy by any means, but if you are smart about how you study it's not hard to do well. I found the grade I received to be very reflective if the amount of work I put in and I think others would find the same. Overall 10/10 Dr.Flo is awesome! P.S the tests are easier than you'd think

Dr. Flo is a very caring professor who wants students to do well. She gives good lectures and posts the PowerPoints online. However, if you want to get a good grade, be prepared to visit her office a lot. She makes mistakes but is happy to fix them when you point them out to her.
