Took it online, was easy, just follow instructions and turn things in on-time.

A professor who actually TEACHERS, he doesn't just run a power point show. Always willing to help on an individual basis.

He can come off pretty harsh for some,he's not for the sensitive that take everything personal. I see it as sarcasm taken wrong. He comes off cold at times but he's right in what he says. Gives partial credit for late work and gives extra credit. Don't ever not turn in work - he will give some credit no matter how late - better than a 0!

He is quirky but a nice guy when you get to know him. He is very fair. I got a 99 in his Web class. A little lacking in social finese but I would take a class with him again. He is very intelligent, does make arrangements to give you help when you need it. His syllabus and website has a plethora of info once you know how to navigate it.

He is a very sweet guy when you get to know him. He likes to joke around with his students. If he likes you, he will "pick" on you but all in fun. He is very reasonable. I found him to be very helpful and would give you extra credit for helping other students. If you are upset with him just talk with him one on one. I think he's a great guy!

I know he has ranted a bit about Bill Gates, but you know what I don't care that much for windows vista either and the microsoft packages. I learned alot, do your work and you get graded exactly what you put into it. Some of these students don't like him because he doesn't give breaks. Tough luck, stop playing ignorant and just do your work :)

I learned alot, but it was hard. He made us come up with our own businesses instead of building what book tels us to do.

Excellent Class!!! A great instructor. Thoes that do not do well in his class are generally thoes individuals that are lazy and expect everything to be given to them. If you put forth an honest effort you will pass his classes. He is always available before or after class and will make appts during his office hours if you need additional assistance

Excellent class, the instructor is very helpful, and the material is very informative. There are no actuall textbooks, rather an online interactive syllabus with links and extremely informative videos. This class is by far one of my favorites.

This has been a great class, you need to have a basic knowledge of computers. His online book (he does NOT make you buy a book, he has created/assembled his own, which is fantastic with video and step by step directions). He does expect you to read the info he has assmebled, but is extremely helpful in class and will stay late after class.

Great class, took a year and half in Web Design at previous school and never got it. Class very informative and will help students outside of class. Ask a lot of questions and will learn a lot.

He writes up examples of all the codes you'll ever need, and explains them, all online. He's very helpful in class, but you could ace the class just by reading what's on his webpage. It's awesome.

Has you working hard right out of the gate. Very little time to breathe between assignments for a beginner. makes it so you work hard for it. When you are done with the class, you know what you are doing. If you don't know what you are doing by the end of the class it may be because you dropped out.

An easy class for the most part. The weekly timed multiple choice quizzes can be tricky because of detail in the choices. His instructions on the assignments are easy to follow and if you run into problems he has online tutorials, or he can help after class with code errors. Over all, put the time into it and you’ll have no problem.

Strengths; 1)Extremely knowlegable. 2)Provides everything the student could possibly need to be successful although the syllabus (at first) is information overload. 3) Very helpfull, stays after class if needed. 4) Great lectures. Weakness; 1) Somewhat difficult to communicate with.

I took this class on-line. I didn't need his help, but felt like he was very open to helping us. The only issue I had was the overwhelming documentation--especially at the beginning of the course. He's very thorough but too wordy.

Online Course: Very descriptive instructions for assignments. Extremely responsive and helpful to email. I have enjoyed the content and assignments. I would recommend to a friend.

Classroom environment is very laid back and fun. Professor is very knowledgable and extremely helpful if you need extra help. This is not a class for those who will not try. Professor expects students to attend his class for the purpose of learning. If you want to learn Visual Bsic, this is the class and professor for you.

The school should have other classes such as Programming Concepts as a prerequisite for this class. The professor responds timely to emails and requests.

This course was a bit of a challenge but if you keep up with the lectures as well as your assignments, you should not have a problem passing the course with a high grade. Though the book is not used much in class, it definitely helps to follow along in it.

This course was taught me things that I could as a computer programmer. The projects were creative and fun.

Great Professor, extremely helpful. If you show up to class(!), participate, and do the required work, you will have no problems passing this somewhat difficult course. Professor Winters is more than willing to help you solve your programming problems.

His class is hands-on (you don't just listen to him talk all period) and easy to follow (he guides you through things). He also encourages a friendly and cooperative work environment. I would highly recommend this class if you're looking to get serious about programming.

While he is somewhat repetitive, he is also fairly informative. His teaching method is hands on and simple. The assignments are strictly graded but (for my class at least) you are able to turn them in late with a low penalty.

He is rude and he is not patient with people who do not understand the material. He does know what he is talking about but, I loved web design and he took all the fun out of it.

intense programming class helps to have a little background knowledge with programming. HE said its the hardest class he teaches but teaches it very well. He always gives demos on whats due the following week and is quick to answer questions. Recommended for people with interest in computer programming.

I was really surprised by all of the negative comments. He was a really nice professor for my class and truly wanted to see everyone be successful. He said on the first day that if you put in the work, he will work with you. That's exactly what happened. Really nice professor and wants people to succeed.

This is a really easy class due to the facts that you do not need to show up in person or online and you work at your own pace. The work mainly consists of discussion posts which are easy. Halfway through the course, grader projects are introduced and are easy to find the walkthroughs for them on YouTube.

It's been a blessing to have Floyd Winters as my professor. He actually built a class/syllabus where all the projects are listed for us to do so we wouldn't have to spend tons of money for a textbook. It's an easy 'A' for me, for those who gave a bad review, give up your path in computer science now... Or perhaps quit college.

We actually made something that we can continue using after the class is over, an actual website. Unfortunately, we had to pay for it out of pocket but I got a years hosting for 15$. Assignments clearly state what is expected, and instructions on how to do it are right there. Additionally he is willing to go the extra step to help out if you ask.

Honestly I don't see why there's so many bad reviews. I took this class online and it focused on excel and word. You're required to TAKE the MOS Certification test but aren't required to pass. This is a class that if you do the work you'll get an A. It seems like a lot at first but I promise you'll get the hang of it.

CGS1000 was not a class I thought I would be interested in, but the readings were easy to follow. The assignments were not complex and honestly helped to process the information. Discussion posts were creative and provided helpful advice to our personal lives. Professor Winters would post profound discussions that extended the topic of class.
