one of the most difficult teachers i've ever had. totally impossible to understand, very, very thick african accent. if you already have this class, drop it! you will fail. someone gave me that advice and i didn't listen and, boy, was i sorry.
Yup, the remarks about this lady is true

Very hard class, lectures are not helpful, and I would not recommend!
I actually think this teacher is pretty easy... Her test are very easy coz its multiple choice... I really dont like economics and i suck at it but she really helped me...Trust me, she does, but only if you ask for her help...Her class is an easy A.
Hardest teacher i have had so far. Very hard to understand and lectures are unhelpful. Half the class drops after a month. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.
Teacher really does no work for online class - material is all designed by textbook publisher. Unclear in her syllabus and assignment instructions. Rude in answering questions via email.
Poor teacher, lectures are worthless, drop this class, she gave me a 50% on a paper I spent hours on and was done correctly. The only way to "learn" is to go get help on your own time, the time you're NOT getting credit for... waste of my life and money.
Lots of work. In addition to one midterm and a final, she assigns an essay (who ever heard of taking an essay in an econ class?) and take home midterm that requires paragraphs of answers. Gives like 4 points of extra credit, which is pretty worthless considering the total is over 400 points.
Her tests are easy, midterm questions just repeat quiz eval. questions. However, she grades irrationally on homework and essay, and her instructions are ambiguous. She is also unreasonable to talk to; don't dispute your grade, and if you miss a deadline b/c site is geared in Eastern time, you're screwed. Soem ppl are just not meant to be professors
Very hard to understand. Not clear with anything. Acts like that is your only class and you should devote your life to it. Tons of homework and reading. Not a fair grader either.
very confusing professor. i took econ online and it was very unclear in directions, and she provides very little guidance. requires a lot of reading and "busy work" created by textbook publishers. cannot explain concepts well in person. does not seem interesting in wellbeing of student. i would not recommend.
Just a good professor. She wants nothing more then for you to have an understanding of economics. All you have to do is ask as many questions as you can, and she will answer everyone of them. After you learn to hear with an accent, it's an easy class. The test questions are right from the study guide questions, so they are really easy, if you study. However, when an assignment is due, it is due. She's hard on you because it's your education she's in charge of. It's up to her to see that you understand.
very hard... do not take this class.

Excellent professor. Very interested in your success and quite responsive to questions;helps you understand the material. Tests are consistent with the textbook; nothing crazy. 1 essay only so, just write a well written essay that demonstrates you understand the material; study, ask questions, work a little and earn an A.

I only lasted 4 classes with her... She had LOTS of work and reading. Her lectures were VERy hard to understand! She is not very approachable for help. Look for someone else or take it at another college.
Bad teacher. Dosnt know the website. Not helpful. Unclear with directions. Way too much work for the time alotted. Dont take her class.
I took this class online, the work online is pretty easy. Her grading is so unfair. There is a short essay that is lame and instructions are unclear. If you questions she will never reply or tell you to read syllabus. I would not recomend this teacher at all even to my enemies ... unless you want to fail course. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!!!
I took her class online and received a B. She was nice to me in person but she seemed sometimes confused when discussing things online. Might have to do w/her accent. Also I noticed she likes sophistication in her essays. so sound sophisticated!
i dropped her class. i could not understand a word she was saying and i don't think she even knew what she was saying
She is a very sweet and caring woman of faith who wants nothing more than for her students to understand the material. She tests not on graphs (!!!) but on the understanding of topics and ideas. She is full of wisdom, has been teaching for a long time, and is one of the best econ teachers (especially for non-e majors) available at Cypress College
Wonderful Teacher. She loves her students, loves her work, has a fantastic background with amazing experience, she's worldly, fun, friendly, caring...the greatest econ teacher for those who struggle with econ! And for the notes on her accent...it's a lovely accent and adds to her lovely personality...and she is NOT hard to understand-just LISTEN!
I am a straight A student, but she was so unclear and so unhelpful I recieved my first C. Especially if you take the class online. Worst teacher to ever take for an online class.
I took her online class and it is not as bad as everyone claims. You just read the chapter, do the study guide, do the practice quiz, post some comments about the chapter, there's 4 quizzes throughout, no time limit. Make sure you remember those quizzes because 80-90% of those questions will be on your midterm and final.
The way people talk about this professor you would expect a witch. If you have a question, she is there for you, if it is a stupid question she will encourage you to be a resourceful college student and go find the answer. I am taking her for Econ 105. If you do the work, study, and follow directions you will get an A, that's all there is to it.
ON LINE CLASS- The class is hard and requires a lot of work. I would say that it is exclusively for fulltime students.
I took the online class-she rarely responded to anything, never knew what my grade was, YOU NEED THE BOOK!!, basically your going to on your own bc she will rarely help if she does it will be too late, JUST AVOID HER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
DONT TAKE HER!!!! Shes crazy hard, super strict. If you like teaching your self for the whole semester then go for it if not then seriously stay away from her.
Here?s some advice...don?t ever take a Econ class online unless you want to be sitting at your computer for hours trying to learn terms and reading a book thats already confusing.I left from her online course to a in classroom Econ class which I feel much more comfortable with. At least now I can ask questions and not wait 24hrs for a response...
Took her online class after dropping it once. Lots of quizzes and online practice assignments; although not extremely hard. You were allowed to retake chapter quizzes 'til you got all the right answers. It is sort of a teach yourself online class.
This class does take more time then any other class I've ever taking. She is not much help at all and very rude. Be prepared to read a lot. Also she has group projects so make sure you are the leader b/c even if you turn in your work and your leader doesn't, you get no credit. She won't fix it, probably b/c she doesn't know how to use the computer.
Likes to lecture a lot about life. She feels disrespected and frustrated if you don't do the reading. Homework and quizzes are all online and takes forever. She lectures the book so there is no point of going to class but attendance is mandatory. I do not recommend taking this class
Everything was done online even though it was a lecture class. Didn't even know the study plan was mandatory untill the midterm and it is worth a huge portion of the grade...
Probably the worst instructor i have had. Emailed her numerous times but never replied. Ended up dropping the class since she is not providing any help at all. BTW, LOTS and LOTS of online work. Basically your have to complete all the exercises and quizes on the website.
I attempted to take her online class in the summer...way too much material to cover. Lots and Lots of work.
By far the worst professor I have ever had. Took the online summer class, she would never respond to questions or emails. Never explained things properly when I could get a hold of her. She is EXTREMELY rude. Wouldn't give points on HW I had gotten right according to her solutions. Will be filing complaint with dean of school. Stay away from her.
Very difficult to understand, very heavy accent although she has lived in this country since she was in her 20s???!!! She states she is available for any questions however when I emailed her she took four days to respond, and then replied to my question with a snippy comment, she never did answer my question.
She is the worst ECON teacher in Cypress, please please by all means take professor Steven Lehigh. He teach very well and he is quite easy too :D
Main components for both short-term online micro and macro are 4 quizzes (30 multi-choice questions; covering four chapters), 1 final (60 questions; last two chapters and a few others), 3 group discussion-based answers DBAs, 18 homework (10 questions per chapter) and study plans (5-35 questions per chapter). The timed quizzes and finals, total 360
Would be better if it wasn't online.
In high school, I loved econ so I figured college econ wouldnt be much harder. I was wrong. The teacher was very unclear and would teach us things the wrong way then realize she did and it would just confuse everyone. She has a thick accent and aswers questions with another question. I studied for every quiz and still got Ds. Homework is online.
She's very strict! Many a time she has asked for participation yet she seems to get angry if you answer incorrectly..go figure. She also seems to have a bit of a chip on her shoulder since we're not from another country where we would be starving for education. News flash...this a a comm college in SO CAL. She needs to get used to this...
WORST ECON TEACHER! Don't take her. If you ask her a question she gets annoyed and responds with a rude comment. She also messed up my grade and tried giving me a C. When I told her she stopped responding to my emails and I had to go to the Dean of Humanities to get it corrected and put to a B. She also makes a lot of mistakes when teaching.
took it online.....she is horrible; class is not structured right
Slow, not helpful, not a good teacher at all. Half the time she doesn't even make sense and makes lots of spelling and grammar errors. Would suggest avoiding taking her if possible, wait till next semester and take a different teacher.
HORRIBLE INSTRUCTOR! She is rude and not willing to help you at all!
DO NOT TAKE HER! This class is poorly structured and you have to pretty much teach yourself, which is difficult to do in an Economics class bc of new concepts. Its just horrible. I looked her up before I registered for the class and I definitely regret taking it.
I took the online class, and the quality of instruction is extremely poor. There was no further explanation to help understand the material. I was teaching myself! Also, her response time was poor. Do your research first before choosing this professor especially if this subject area is not your strongest, or risk losing your money!
I REGRETTED taking this class. All she does in class is just scann papers from text book and read it again. Everything else is online.More than half dropped after the first 2 quizzes. She is unwilling 2 help and RUDE!She yelled at u if u answer her question wrong.Lectures are very confusing.Test questions r very hard and consufing.DONT EVER TAKE HER
One of the most inspirational professors I have ever taken. She gives great pep talks. It is also important to read the textbook in her class. I really enjoyed her.
RUDE. UNHELPFUL. UNINSPIRING. INCONSIDERATE. Need I go on? Professors are teaching the next generation of their nation. Shouldn't they be amazingly helpful and inspiring? I mean, if she's trying to inspire us to withdraw from classes, hate the economy, and despise coming to class, she nailed it.
HORRIBLE INSTRUCTOR!!!! ONLINE CLASS HAVE GROUP PROJECT TO DO WHICH IS VERY STUPID. PEOPLE TOOK ONLINE CLASS BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE TIME TO MEET UP!!!! class is not structured right!!worst ECON teacher. DON'T TAKE HER!!!!!
I love econ but she was the holocaust of my modivation in this subject. As a business major, her class is structured online through myeconlab. 55$ activation fee... if you get under 75% on homework, you're forbidden from going onto the next one without seeing her. the group project is VIDEO. the course is more inconvienent than it needs to be.
Professor O. is a very dedicated teacher. Most of her work is done online but the book is used everyday. She will push you to get a good grade. Her class is not as difficult as most people think. If you are lazy she is not the teacher for you.
she is a very good teacher who knows what she is doing. take her class if you want to learn stuff. please don't take her class if you are lazy. best econ teacher ever.
Not helpful at all and just a very poor attitude and structure. Worst course I have taken. Did not respond to my emails nor most other people I asked in class. Felt like dealing with a child that was easily set off. Also still waiting for grade to be posted. Not surprised that it is last class to be posted.
Do you want to study for hours for a good grade, but then have that not matter because 35% of your grade is in the hands of other students in your group. Then this is the class for you. You have to give her exactly what she expects your answer to be, if it is right but not the way she would present it, it is wrong. And you just have to deal with it
Please just avoid taking this professor. By far the worst professor I have EVER had.
She will push you to do your best, if you aren't putting in the effort she will match it with the same amount of indifference. She expects a lot from her students.
The WORST online class ever. It is not the material that is difficult, it is dealing with the instructor. Basically all you do is read the book and then take the quizzes, she provides no supplemental material. She is very unorganized and rude and does not have a set schedule for assignments so it is hard to keep up with the changing due dates.
Don't expect to get a straight answer for anything. Requests for clarification or comments she disagrees with are met with rude, almost insulting, responses.
She was a terrible teacher. She always wants you to answer questions, but if your answer is wrong she makes you feel bad about not knowing the right answer. I would not ever suggest anyone to take this teacher, ever. I've had many teachers but she is by far the worst.
Questions are not directly from the book. You only have one try on questions on homework. She expects you to know the material already. There is basically, 4 quizzes with 25 questions, and two group essays and one weekly homework of very hard questions! She is very tough! Read the chapters until you understand them, do research, and you be okay.
this professor is the worst professor that i have ever had. i did not once get a clear answer from her and after a while getting help from her is more stressful than helpful. would not recommend taking any of her courses
I took the online class so I didn't have to deal with Prof. Odebunmi's lectures. Her grading was confusing, not generous at all. She expects you to participate on the weekly chat. The exams and quizzes looked like they were straight from the book so that was good. If you ask for help, she will respond your emails and give you feedback.
Professor Odebunmi is an excellent teacher who wants to inspire her students to strive for academic success. There's weekly homework, a few group projects and tests are a given. If you actively listen in class (notes are optional but recommended), you can do the homework. If you do the homework, you'll be able to pass the tests. Very linear course.
Sometimes hard to understand with her thick accent. If you don't participate in class, she will call you out on it. She likes to compare her classes to each other, so make sure your class is better than the other. Make sure you do the homework, if you miss one, you can suck up to her and hope she lets you do it past the due date.
She has poor communication. I took her class online, it's silly that she expects group projects done in online classes. You barely learn in this class... Definitely not distant learning, it's basically a textbook website that assigns you tests. Take her if you're desperate, but if you want to learn and have a passionate teacher, she's not for you.
ridiculously easy course. The syllabus is clean and simple. It requires very little attention outside of class. If you take time to get to know her she becomes very lenient and willing to help. I don't understand the negative review because the class requires one homework assignment a week... ten multiple choice very easy
I did not have a good experience with this professor. I only missed two class meetings the entire semester and I payed attention/took notes during her lectures and I still did not understand the material. She is very hard to understand. If it wasn't for SI i would not have passed this class.
Class was worse than reviews depicted. She expected us to be experts an intro class. The group projects have a date in advance, but you are given them that day in class and turned in before leaving. The average was a D. 10/10 people I asked got a C on the final. For 2nd group project a group member found the A's on Pearson we added more. We got a B
What was on the homework and what was discussed in class/in the textbook contradicted itself. On the homework there is only one chance to get it right. HW is a big portion of your grade. Group projects kill your grade and are 120/620 pts of your grade. Every group complained. The final was awful. It had trick q's and is 12 % of grade. Do not take
This course is poorly structured. The materials provided are not fully utilized, and there is a lack of guidance. Instructions are not clear for group projects, and communication is sparse. Syllabus and communications also hard to understand fully due to poor grammar. Graded on 5 core items, but beware that the group project is a pain.
It was only a month in and I missed the handout of the first group project. The group project is in class and worth so much. I missed and it brought my grade all the way down to a C. I fought to keep that C the whole time. She's hard to understand and drifts off into random topics a lot. She reads from the slides. Be prepared to learn on your own!!
She is ridiculously easy. I took her online Econ 100 class. Her grading criteria is confusing and she has horrible communication with her students. Not to mention the website we use to do all of our homework is confusing to find things on. She has canvas, but only to take the first two quizzes and link to another site. That's where you do the HW
Professor does not have an understandable teaching style or way of communication, in more to the point words: poor instructions and communication of directions
You earn your grade with very few points 580 total, and 100 are group projects. She is unclear of assignments and takes forever to grade. If you do ask her for clarification, she refers you to the syllabus no matter the question. Her emails and assignments are all misspelled and hard to follow. She provided no learning material other than the text.
Although, she can be very intimidating, she encourages you to speak up in class and expose your knowledge so he can teach what you don't know. If you can get past the mindset of asking stupid questions you can learn a lot. I asked a ton of stupid questions and learned so much. A great teacher and I would take her again.
She is very knowledgeable. She is nice and her class is interesting. Some of it gets really confusing but she'll explain it. Would take again. Her grading is very clear. Make sure to come to class prepare and participate as these are worth a few points that can change your grade.
I took her for micro and macroeconomics and she is good. Pay attention and do your work on time and you will get a good grade. I took her class online and on campus.
I took this professor's online class. Basically, it based on the book. I received more help from her during her office hours. She is actually a nice person and wants the students to learn. If you are an independent learner, I recommend taking her class.
Wouldn't take again, professor was not open to helping in anyway and told me she would no longer help me with an issue regarding the course site
Professor Odebunmi may seem very tough at first but honestly as long as you read and understand you WILL do great in the class. Participation counts for points, literally just ask questions. Also, visit her office hours she helps A LOT. Econ is not my best subject but professor Odebunmi helped a lot.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR BY ALL MEANS, WORST PROFESSOR IN CYPRESS. She is very rude and makes you feel very mentally distressed in class.
Took her inclass. Horrible instructor. She doesn't know how to teach and she is not approachable at all. She pushes us to speak in class, but has this attitude that will really discourage you. We had a group activity with little time and bombed it. Could've gotten an A if it weren't for the class activity. Expect to teach yourself. Take Parwinder
I like economics and Professor Odebunmi. The subject is tough but she is very helpful. She is approachable and caring. She tutored me numerous times in her office. She is very fair and offers extra credit. I will be taking another class with her.
She covers the material quickly and sometimes do not answer questions in class. However, visit her during her office hours and she will answe them. I like the group work because economics is tough to understand. She gives extra credit. I'm satisfied with my grade and recommend taking her class.
I actually like this class. Good information and knowledgeable professor.
This class was one of my hardest classes. I didnt do well on many of the exams but teacher offered extra credit. Group projects are also worth a large portion of grade.
This class is challenging but visiting her during office hours is helpful. She is nice and knowledgeable. Her grading is fair but take advantage of the extra credit.
She's prideful, doesn't like teaching, unorganized, unclear, and unwilling to help. Avoid her at all costs. She needs to go.
A great professor who has a wide knowledge. However her teaching attitude is awful. If your class dont participate in lecture, expect to have many cancelled classes and chapters that she will never give lecture on but still appear on tests. Group project is a pain. She has some irrational grading rubric which can pull your score down greatly.
This class is one of the most difficult classes that I've ever taken at Cypress College. She has high expectations but will provide you with resources. I learned a lot from her and the class materials. She is good at responding to emails and office hours. I finished the class with a B.
I took this class online. At first, it was difficult to navigate. After speaking with her several times, I learned that the format is straightforward. The subject is difficult, but she is always available to help. I will take her class again.
This Professor is tough as nail but fair. The subject is difficult, but she offers extra credit. She responded to all of my emails. I took her class for 9 weeks and was able to keep up the pace. I learned a lot from her class and will take another class with her.
I'm a business major, so I had to take a few of Professor Odebunmi classes. Her classes are difficult but teacher is caring. Learn a lot from from her. Must read the textbook.
This is a tough class, but Professor was so helpful. Her expectations are high but she is fair. Much of the work is on the Pearson Book Site. She always followed up with canvas emails. I recommend taking her class.
I'm not sure what's with her, I tried getting help from her during office hours but it felt that she was interrogating me. When she asks if we have questions, she either does not look for for like 2 whole minutes or not look up at all. She's also bad with responding to emails, I dropped since I was not getting help from her.
Terrible! Don't take her. She always tries to deduct the points from the discussions and class activities. Even your answer is right, but if it's not the way she want you to answer or explain, you won't get points. She is not helpful at all. She doesn't publish the document, but she will blame you that you have to contact canvas not her.
Professor Odebunmi has high expectations. The class is demanding but doable if you complete the assignments. I learned a lot from the subject.
This is the first semester since I returned and I like this class. The grade is based on homework, exams and a group project. She was very helpful and always available for help when needed!! Awesome teacher take her!!
She is definitely a professor I would want to take other classes with, demanding but helpful!
Tough. but you will learn in this class. Odebunmi wants you to do your best and keeps pushing you to be better. I would take her again
Shes tough, but she cares. Effort wise, shes well aware of who puts in effort and who doesnt.
Econ 100 is a hard class so you need to study hard. Make sure to go to her office hours. Like this Professor.
Read everything - Professor Odebunmi does not play. The class information is interesting and the tests are directly from the book. You cannot get over on her. If you complete all of the required work, you will pass. The group work is a bit confusing, but she answers all of your questions.
This class is difficult but a lot of learning support. She expects a lot from the students but it is worthy.
AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS!!! I read the comments before enrolling, but decided to take her any way since she was the last professor teaching the class I needed. I would put hours into my homework but still always got the worst grades. She never checked in with us through out the semester and was always behind on grades. Trust. Avoid avoid AVOID
I know Fall 2020 semester is almost over, but she literally has a lack of communication and does not even care for her students. Although she says that we'll ask if we have any questions, and once we get to that, it's like "It's all in the syllabus" etc. This is like a self-learning class. Avoid her at all costs, and take a different professor!
Honestly one of the worst professors I have ever taken. She lacks communication and literally tells you what you already know and what you need to know. There's no guidance in this class and you're gonna have to figure things out on your own. When you ask her questions she make you feel stupid for asking it.
terrible communication. I took other asynchronous classes this semester but the other teachers reached out way more and had their own videos and such. basically had to teach myself. she was terrible help if asked questions and graded through an external tool, so she basically did no work at all.
Absolutely HORRIBLE. If I could rate this professor a negative score, I would. Don't bother reaching out to her, she will only chastise you for doing so. When you ask for clarity from her, you will be talked down to and ridiculed as if you're just too incompetent to understand. Don't risk your GPA/grade here! She is merciless and a complete chode!!
The class was just reading from the textbook and then doing the homework and quizzes. The only other thing was a group assignment. Professor ignored our emails about it when we had uncooperative group members and nearly gave us a 0. Would not reccomend.
