This course there is no textbook, only slides are given for his class. The material seems very easy when discussed in class but things make no sense when it comes to applying concepts to the tests. Be prepared to fail and receive no additional help.

Lectures are interesting with lots of real-world examples. Tests are tricky and require you to know the material well.

By far the most I've ever learned in 1 course. Arguably the best professor I've ever had; he's been teaching Man Econ for 29 years now. TAKE MANAGERIAL ECON WITH KAFKA AND DON'T LISTEN TO ANYBODY WHO SAYS DIFFERENT. I'm not joking. This class isn't easy peasy, but it isn't impossible. It's the type of difficulty that you appreciate in a class.

5 quizzes determine your fate. He is a nice guy, but he is very egotistical. His slides are very vague, but he insists that they will make you rich before you turn 30. He promises "freebies" during class, but none of the freebies actually show up on the quizzes. He uses cases to explain ideas, but fails to give the ideas.

Hardest class I have ever taken. Don't take this if you struggle with multiple choice questions. He is a smart guy but his tests are ridiculous. Take someone else. Also HE isn't approachable at all. I never left one of his tests confidently. Good luck if you take kafka. Dont be surprised of you get a C.

DO NOT TAKE KAFKA. AVOID IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. Not helpful and does not explain anything better the second time you ask him. He basically tells you you have to figure it out yourself. I've never gotten below a B+ in any class until this class hurt my gpa.

Kafka is a great guy... but don't take him.. lectures don't make sense nor do quizzes. The grading curve is good, but probably only because he shouldn't be teaching anymore!

Generally a very good teacher. If you enjoy being coddled by teachers and told exactly how to learn then I would steer clear of this course generally. It is challenging to those who have no ability to learn on their own.

Folke Kafka is the worst teacher I have ever had. I have never even gotten below an A minus in college before, yet I failed his first test. There are no Tas or any office hours which is ridiculous. I email him questions and he just tells me to think more. I ask to go over questions in class and he tells me I am "not listening enough".

your entire grade depends on 5 tests that consist of 20 questions that are extremely confusing. All are choose the false and true types questions with strange wording. So you need to have a strong grasp of concepts to be successful. Unfortunately for you his lectures don't help much in understanding the concepts needed to pass

UnfortunatelyI can't say I enjoyed this class, in fact I would have to say it was indeed the hardest thing I have ever endured. 50% of my class withdrew quickly after the second exam However, I decided to stay and boy, was it a mistake. Finished the class with a 60 which inKafka terms is a B-. He said he could make us millionaires but he is a prof.

Had Kafka in early 2000s for 2 classes. Hes the real deal. Those giving him lousy marks here are foolish children who have no idea what the business world will bring. Hes teaching real world stuff - strategy, pricing tactics, consumer behavior, how competition really works. Attend class. Pay attention. Ask questions.

Kafka is the best professor in the business school at Pitt. His lectures are not mandatory, but if you want a good grade you need to attend them and pay close attention. I took Kafka in 2012 and to this day cannot think of a class more valuable for what is to come post graduation. Always looked forward to lectures because he's hilarious.
