dr. corrodus, is the best sociology professor i had ever had...his expectations are clear..his test and lectures are a plus..and good thing about him and his class is that he makes you think and u loves challenging his students...
What a great instructor. Very funny, tries to get at you though. He'll try to break you! Tells you exactly what you need to do to get an A in the class. Definitely take him if you can!
Course objectives seemed unclear. Only one guest speaker showed up out of a supposed group of several speakers.
I found him to be pretentious and a waste of my time. He managed to turn everything chapter of the sociology book into "Racism 101." I didn't learn anything in his class. Although it was easy, I would rather actually learn something.
He made me angry most of the time. some of his remarks/stories were uncalled for. he's obsessed with himself. Most of his test questions came from the book..I would avoid him if i could.

His accent is hard to understand at times. Says really **** and off the wall comments to provoke a reaction from the class, amusing at first but after awhile it was like just shutup and teach please. Avoid him if you can.

I LOVED HIS CLASS I HAD ALOT OF FUN HE LIKES TO PUSH YOU, HE SAYS COMMENTS TO GET A REACTION. WJEN I TOOK HIS CLASS WE DID GROUP TESTS THAT WAS 2 YRS AGO BUT I LEARNED ALOT FROM HIM
easy class. Take the internet course. I wouldn't have done nearly as well if I would have had to listen to hime talk. I couldn't understand his accent. The first 3 tests are online at home. Ask someone who's taken the class for help if you need it, although you shouldn't. His class has been the same for years. It's very easy, but also interesting.
Dr corrodus is very intelligent and hilarious. He is hard to understand a little but, he likes to keep jokes flowing and keep everyones attention. I would take him for every class if I could. He gave group tests and made it easy. He is very funny.

I hated his class. His tests were easy, but he tried to incorporate his Christian religion into everything he lectured about, which is really offensive to an Agnostic who just wanted to learn a science, not be preached to every Friday. I really didn't enjoy his class.
Great teacher except his relating many things to his religion. He is a quirky teacher and is actually very humorous. If you do the work he expects out of you in class you will pass without a problem. I would definitely recommend him for a teacher
He was my toughest professor yet, exams were beyond difficult even with studying. He is not easily pleased as well and demands directions followed to the letter. Not good at breaking down the material to making it understandable. I recommend switch professors if you see his name on your schedule.
Have no idea how hes a professor in person but the class was easssyyy. I took it online, so there were quizzes, exams online, and a paper due. DO THE WEEKLY DISCUSSIONS! his exam ?s are almost straight from the reading and the outline he gives. If you have questions, hes good about helping
He is very smart in this subject. Stays on point, and gives group tests. The project assigned was clear, although he graded it critically.
He was the worst. He acted like he knew everything but could'nt answer basic questions. Spent most of the time talking about preaching. My mother used to work at the college and says he got fired from his college VP job so they made him teach again. They don't want to deal with him so we get him?! I guess if you cant do anything else then you teach
Did not Like this class(online) Tests were hard! We had to do a class discussion everyweek and it was never graded. At the end I sent a email why my grade was lower than what i expected and never got an answer...
The only thing I learned in this class was his opinions. I dreaded attending this classes every week. He grades way too harshly on essays, however he does offer group tests. Makes Sociology a lot harder then it needs to be. He also has a strong accent which is sometimes hard to understand. I do not recommend him.
He is very hard to understand, mostly because of his accent but partly because he doesn't make sense when he speaks. Tests are super easy but I still don't know if its worth it. You really don't have to show up just read the book and take the tests. He is off topic most of the class and talks about very obscene parts his personal life. DISTURBING!

Dr. Corrodus is an amazing professor! Some people say that he is hard to understand due to his accent, but I didn't have any problems understanding him. He's absolutely hilarious. His lectures are helpful, but if you actually read the book you'll be fine. He gives group tests, which are sometimes helpful. I love him! Totally would take him again!!!
Easy but horrible. He can' even answer questions. He says use the book. His group tests are a joke. You dont really have to study but you don't learn anything from him.
Corrodus is very ignorant and offensive but his tests are super easy. All the tests are in groups except for the final exam. when it comes to the milestone paper at the end of the semester he gives no details on what exactly he wants from us, until we have to read it up front and you get cursed out. Other than that it's EASY A
He is very opinionated, but you can't let that get to you. It's a very independent class, a lot of reading out of the book. Group exams.
I took the class over Summer2 so it was a little fast paced. Professor is very opinionated but it makes the lessons more memorable. Be prepared to read A LOT. Practice questions on ANGEL help. Overall, if you apply yourself you will get a good grade. Oh the Prof. hates absenteeism.
Worst professor I have ever had. All he does is lecture and tell creppy stories. And does not give you time to copy down the slide show. And when he assigns you the term paper he wont tell you exactly what he wants by paper. No he will embarss you infront of the whole class and let you know last minute that you have to read it aloud to the class!
Throughout the class I had to struggle to get answers from the question. Simple questions such as 'I know how this worksfor your class, but how does this work?' were met with responses like 'yes that does work that way.' He 'offered' help only for it to either be harmful or do absolutely nothing to help. This class is one of the wort have had yet.
He has no clue how to answer any of your questions. He often speaks lowly of his patients outside of class, calling them "stupid" and "weak". Yet he follows this us saying as a psychologists you cannot judge your patients. He has no rpoblem calling you outand humiliating you in front of the whole class. His help is not genuine, its a punishment

Does not answer email or discussion timely or not at all, eliminated work already completed after deadlines, no feedback on papers then when asked sends same response to multiple students. Completely left a summer class to figure things out on their own. Do not take this guy he is awful
Syllabus, Schedule of Activities, and Blackboard all had different assignments. Didn't get told which was right until end of semester. Graded essays harshly and provided no feedback. Didn't respond to questions on "ask the instructor" board. Class was easy, though. Lots of reading. I probably won't take him again.
I took this class online and it was actually something I looked forward to doing. The material was very simple to understand & interesting! I barely even tried and got an A, just do the assignments given and youll pass. Didnt even write the final essay haha. As for the prof himself, I didnt contact him once, soo... But I would recommend this class!

I received absolutely no helpfeedback from him. He did not follow the schedule and when you ask for help he replies with "read the syllabus", and that is WHEN he replies. This was my first online class and thought it would convenient, but it was anything but that. Plus! Assignments were mostly not available by the due date. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
This professor means well, he likes to keep things interesting, but he is very unclear on what he wants from the class. He wants you to pass, and has good intentions but doesn't know how to apply them. He rushes in his power points and tells you to read the book for the test. We do get to work in groups though.
Very opinionated and rude. Somehow his personal religion found a way into every topic we discussed, which I think is kind of ridiculous. Skims through PowerPoints. So those are pointless. No textbook and you'll probably fail. Thick accent which is kind of hard to understand. And he's a hard grader. This class was my least favorite this semester.

Wanna know the secret to passing this class? On the first day sit next to the smartest looking kids and you pass . Prof Corrodus gives group tests so as long as you do the reading and study you will definitely pass .If you like listening to jokes this class is also for you , but he can sometimes be a little annoying by bringing up his faith .
Unclear about what he wants. Rushes through powerpoints so get ready to read them on your own. Textbooks are not used in class, but he wants you to read ahead. He wanders off topic easily.
I have no idea why he has such harsh ratings I had a wonderful time in his class. He is hilarious time goes quickly for a 3 hour class. You have group tests up until the final. You also have one essay he is clear about what he wants follow directions and ask questions if you are unclear. He also boosted my high B to an A for perfect attendance.
He will bump up your grade for questioning him.

i loved him he was great i plan on taking more of his classes. its a lot of reading. he is not for the weak hearted he likes to fire people up you can tell the things he says are to make you think , he means no harm keep a open mind and just think on what he has to say and you will have a great time.
He lets you take take all tests, but the final in groups of up to 5. This is not an "easy A" class, his class requires lots of reading. He creates all test questions by taking it directly out of the book. You have to pay close attention to every detail in the boy, even if it may not seem like important, like the graphs and charts. 90.8% as my grade
Took Professor Fontley in the Fall. He has an accent that is hard to understand. He has long lectures which he reads directly from power points. No homework, lets you test in groups and assigns one paper. Fairly easy class and did not use text book code.
He was overall a good professor. Tests were easy. There were four tests and one 3-page minimum paper. The paper was easy to write, but he is very critical of the details. He responds to emails quickly and is willing to help. I didn't personally agree with his viewpoints, but I respected him.
he may seem very strict and mean, but he is honestly very understanding and a good guy. His tests are from the power points so take notes, but his tests aren't hard if you study. The essay was boring and had to be detailed. His class is pretty interesting and he really cares about teaching. Participation counts so show up everyday.
His class is very informative but some of his viewpoints are hard to agree with. If you read the chapters, study the vocab & show up to each class you will do well. 4 tests total all were group tests and one essay paper. He makes you read it in front of the class though.
Dr. Corrodus is certainly qualified for the job. The textbook is extremely important, so make sure you get that! He could be offensive if you are an extremely sensitive person, but he's only joking and trying to keep his students awake and responding.

You have to read the chapters, but you get to work in groups for the tests. Great to take with a buddy.
He has a great passion for what he does. Don't be late or absent to his class. Some of the exams or group, this can be good and bad, just make sure you are in the right group. Read the book, attend his lectures, take good notes, and study hard. Studying is vital. If you have a sensitive personality you might want to find another proffesor.
Test are tough
Told class not to expect an F. Things he said he will put on the test, wasn't there. On the final, things not ever covered where on the final. I highly recommend you DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR.

You MUST study for exams or you will fail! In this class time goes by vary slowly. Expect a lecture with a power point ever class and a final paper with little to no help or information given. He voices his opinion a lot (it may bother some but not me) and his exams are 50 questions but, your allowed to take them in groups. ATTENDANCEMUST
This instructor does not always cover all of the material you will see on his tests. His syllabus is a guideline, not a schedule.
I have taken Dr. Corrodus for two semesters now and all i have to say is, he probably one of the rudest professors i have had. He only thinks his jokes are funny, and if you speak to him your opinion he gives you a reasons to feel stupid. Wouldn't suggest taking if your the type of student that like in class discussions over topics.
Mr. Corrodus is a chill guy. Although he can be very rude. Lets you work in groups so beware who you work with. He is very critical on detail for the written assignment. You have to study and pay attention. He dismisses class early which is a perk. But very hard to understand with his accent. His tests are tricky, and he says weird comments.
He is a tough grader when it comes to the term paper, but he gives the option of extra credit. All his tests are group tests, so pick your group wisely. Be prepared to read the book as well, since a lot of stuff on the tests he gets from there.

I would avoid Corrodus! His tests do not match the material discussed in class and he confuses students! His lectures are dry and long and there is no class participation. He kept changing his mind on due dates and assignments.
Very much enjoyed his lectures and his sense of humor. Very strict to his syllabus, you don't want to miss a date or misread his instructions. Overall I recommend him for your SYG**** courses, much nicer than the one I use to have for the prior credit hour.
This professor uses power-points that were made to go alongside the book every class, but adds in information here and there, and uses witty and sometimes comical examples to help understanding. The first three tests are group tests, and the final isn't cumulative. There is one term paper, but other than that the class is a breeze.
I truly enjoyed going to this class. Professor Corrrudus always shared interesting stories that made learning sociology entertaining. He is a very honest man who doesn't sugar coat. I would definitely take him again!
he is straight forward & to the point. Does not sugar coat anything in any subject. He does say some far out things but he does it to keep your attention. There is 3 Fontley Corrodus on this site. Hear me out on this, Please do not take this professor, I repeat do not take him. He claims he is a Christian but you would not think that. He flirts with his students that's just the beginning. You will be very sorry if you do.
He was an okay professor. Sometimes i felt uncomfortable in his lectures and he would make the class really awkward. However, easy grader, group test for all the exams and on the final got to work with the person sitting next to you. Overall easy class.
Out of all of the professors i have had this is the one i would never even think of taking again. i wouldn't recommend this professor to anyone. he flirts heavily until the entire class is uncomfortable. he makes sexist jokes and is rude and blunt with his opinion. the class is not easy and no matter how hard i studied it didn't match the lecture..
He isnt absolutely terrible. It really depends on you, sometimes the things hed say would make some of us feel a little uncomfortable. But its simple work, 3 tests & test 4 is basically the final, and a term paper. The tests can be done in groups. If you study and go to class and listen, youll do good.
You have 4 exams and 1 term paper to make up your grade. The first 3 exams are taken in groups. It's an easy class, but he has boring lectures so be prepared to try to keep yourself awake.

I'm still waiting on a response to an e-mail I sent over a month ago. He's quick to grade essays and discussion boards, but when you ask for more detailed feedback, the typical response is "Good job!" when you received a B. He does a good job at responding to the 'Ask the Instructor' forums but not to e-mails.
The reviews are real. The entire semester was spent watching him flirt with the women in the class. I was appalled at his lack of professionalism. Any time a question was asked, his goal seemed to be to make the person who asked look stupid. He thinks he walks on water. Tests are in groups. Read the book and study hard. Enjoy your B.
Take this class. Definition heavy class. Professor Corrodus is blunt but caring, all the tests are with a group and this is seriously amazing. Study your definitions and you will get As.
I would agree that he is a good teacher - basically he makes you work for your education. I admire that aspect. However, he is quite blunt and can come off rude. I once asked a question in the "Ask the Instructor" tab on Blackboard and he was continuously rude to myself and the other classmates.
For me, this was an online class. The good thing was, if you read the book and have searchable notes, the practice assignments and online tests are relatively easy. The hard part about the professor is that when he grades your written assignments, he really seems to gives B's without using his rubric. "Good Job" is no useful feedback.

His grading system is kaput. One bad test and the rest of the class As. Class participation average was a crazy 100+ and mine being well over the average - sticks me with a B - obviously no discretion.
He's a very good teacher. I would definitely take him again. All his work is due before the term. But don't wait until last minute. The first exam was in person but all the other ones were take home exam. It's an easy A. He's a very understanding teacher.
Excellent Professor, had him for summer b, offers many extra credit gives you point for attendance you need 700 points for an A, offers a total of almost 1200 points. Impossible falling his class, lectures are engaging, lets you work on groups for every test if you want, I will really recommended, study for test read chapters do the essay, easy A.
I definitely recommend taking this course if you want an easy A. He gives a lot of hw but the assignments are super easy ! There is one term paper but as long as you follow his instructions (APA format) you will get a passing grade. He gives out a lot of extra credit points and lets you work in groups on every test. EASY A !! Read PowerPoints/Notes
He is the ONLY professor I have disliked enough to rate. He made a ton of sexist remarks and worked sex and his obscene personal life into the class lecture unnecessarily. It was often that the class was uncomfortable and it was discussed often after classes. I dreaded his lectures every week. I would never EVER take a class of his ever again.
