She is good in explanation, always there too help. She makes difficult problems easy when she does it on board. I think I need to learn her technique. She is always there to help in HW. Her tests are difficult and she makes students aware about it. Overall I like her teaching.
She is the best professor, She explain the things in a way that you just understand right away. Expects homework. Always in her office to help you. Take PS103 with her. You will learn alot and enjoy the class as well.
She is sweet instructor. She is there for you even she doesnt have her office hours. Her tone is monototic but explains things in applied way. Her knowledge is way too much. She is very understanding about missed HW. Her tests are tough. Her ppts are funny, especially her first page.
Dr. Maduyar is always helpful in and outside her office hours. She is understanding.
She is good professor among the professors teaching this semester. Her tests are tough, but if you solve the HW questions thoroughly, you will and can pass. Other two professors are weird. I love when she gives warm up problem, and solves step by step. Her office hours are exceptional. I like solving problems on her board with her.
I am taking physics third time and I have seen some other professors as well. I honestly feel that she is the best teacher. I really understand her way of explaining things. She is very sweet. Tests are tough but she makes you ready for them. Attend her class and you will be fine. You will learn a lot for her. I wish she will teach us PS104.
She is the best professor in my life ever. If you take SI session before the exam, you will get good grade! Take this class!!
Miss Mudiyar is the best teacher of physics, I really learnt from her. She is very polite and understanding. She has very long office hours those are very helpful. Her method of explaining is exceptional and she can connect physics with real life problems in an excellent way. Must take class with her. Do not enroll any other professor's class.
Honestly the physics department as a whole at Riddle is tough if you're not going for an engineering major. I was going for AS flight and I have never been a fan of physics. You need to work hard for this class to pass but also she has a lot of office hours and her SI sessions really do help! This was her first semester here but overall decent.
She is very good teacher and care about her students. I will take her class again. She is great.
Her test was hard, everything is from HW and book. I like her teaching, makes me understand physics well. I wish i had her in first semester
Tests are tough but she discuss everything in class before the exams. Her tests are tricky. Tons of office hours, available on weekends too. We had projects in chemistry, and her knowledge about nanochemistry and pharmaceuticals is extravagant. I like working with her on nano-materials applications to biosensing.
We got the tests back. I cannot believe she had discussed everything in class. But the average was still 64. She is fantastic I wish she teaches PS 104. She office hours are very helpful. She is awesome 3
Bottom line, take Dr. Madiyar if you can. She is the best PS teacher at this school. She is really nice and is there for her students as much as you need her. Everyone dreads taking PS103 and PS104 for one reason or another at Riddle, and has for the longest time, but Dr. Madiyar is the change that everyone has been looking for. 100%!
I struggled with her accent a *little* at first but that's about the only problem I had. Offers great extra credit ops and grades well. Test probs are homework/practice probs - if you don't do well on the tests it's not going to be her fault, but yours. Gives a lot of chances to get tutoring and help - take advantage of these opportunities!
This course I will say has stressed me out so much!! I will review the material to better help me. I really couldn't have done this without her. She has taken the time out of her busy schedule to help me. She is an amazing professor and truly one of the few that I feel really cares about her students
She is the best professor. I think that I understand physics only because of her. Her office hours are very useful. She is very sweet. If you will not study tests can be hard. Take her class do not take PS 103 with any other professor.
Foram Madiyar is amazing! She is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She makes the class fun with her jokes. She gives a lot of extra credit and is there for you if you need help. She has all kinds of study sessions too.
Dr. Madiyar was great for Chem lab. She is willing to give you so much help if you ask for it and cares for her entire class. She was the best professor I had this semester. Just remember to do your pre/post labs and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it on them.
I like her teaching style
She is the best I want to take PS104 with her next semester. Take her class because she knows how to make non-engineering students understand physics. She is a gem.
She is the best professor. Very caring and want her students to learn physics. If you want to work hard she gives you extra points for extra HW. Take her class if you want to learn physics. Also she is very polite.
Always excited to teach. Other fellas in class are boring, sleepy in this class. They annoy me, I think it annoys her as well (but I don't know, she never expresses). I have taken this class second time. I love her teaching style. She does through each and every step. Patiently explains multiple times if asked. My fellas ask her dumbest algebra que
Awesome professor; great at getting concepts across. All of the homework is from the textbook, and the quizzes and tests had similar questions. Physics is difficult for me, but professor Madiyar made it tolerable.
Work at it. PS103 does not come easy. Dr. Madiyar will guide you through it. She's patient and will re-explain the problem from scratch to help you understand. Also, prepare yourself for potato examples. She loves potatoes.
She gives a lot of chances for students to pass
She is amazing in her knowledge about connecting chemistry to biology and engineering. I feel like chemistry is important subject to know. Her pitched for aerospace physiology program was awesome, now I think to switch my major, or may be do a double major. I wish students look at the broader perspective rather than bogging her down with exam quest
She definitely knows what she is talking about but is very easily lost in translation between her and students. She loves to help but its not always helpful.
She is chemistry Godess. She is very nice polite, caring, smart and intelligent. She actually know how to teach advanced chemistry. I really wish that she will teach chemistry 2 as well. I learned a lot for her. She is very young not the age of my mom but I respect her like my mom. I was about to drop out and her personal attention helped me.
Good professor who is very knowledgeable. She tends to complicate concepts sometimes but otherwise a good class overall!
Her lectures were easy to follow, and she provides plenty of extra credit opportunities. Her tests are a little hard (making sure you have enough time to finish was a problem for just about everyone) but she offers test corrections to earn points back (6-10 points) I took chem all through high school and everything makes so much more sense with her
She is the awesome professor, I love her teaching style. She prepared us too much that finals seemed really easy for me. Her exams were long in-semester, but i was able to complete it. I wish i could do chemistry lab with her, because she connects concepts so well.
Dr. Madiyar is a very good professor. She cares about her students but she also has a lot of classes so the best way to ask her a question is to go to her office or through email. The tests are not very hard but you will need to study. She provides a lot of extra credit so you get an easy A.
You will need to work this class. Her online stuff is very organized. She has videos which go step by step. I love that she writes the formula on the board while teaching. Her test are a mix of hard and easy quest. I will recommend to easy one ASAP. Her has a very clear grading criteria. I had spent 6 hours outside the class. Awesome teacher
Not a course to be taken lightly, but like all worthwhile endeavors, the harder something is the more rewarding the result. I feel I learned a lot as compared to high school AP Chem You will not require a textbook, her notes are enough to get you through. A very clear explanation as compared to AP Chem Highly and super highly recommend.
The first competent professor I have ever had for chem class. Genuinely cares about her students doing well. Tests are a bit tough, but you can do well in the class Gives test replacement with the final exam grade if it will help you. If you have to take chem at ERAU, basically have one choice, take Madiyar, or take it off campus. Shes great!
Too difficult, and she doesnt explain things. Take her class at your own risk
Madiyars course was probably one of the most well-structured courses I have taken thus far at Embry-Riddle. The goals for each day were clearly stated and always covered. Lots and lots of inclass examples, reasonable homework questions related directly to test questions, etc. She would answer questions thoroughly without derailing the class.
Today was my first lecture with her. I think by far the best organisation of canvas and work materials and clear expectation from the students. She completed a short chapter with clear explanations. Her resources are well arranged. She uses the book which is easy available without spending too much money.
Dr. Madiyar is probably the best professor Ive had at ERAU so far. She is willing to do whatever she can to help, and she makes the lectures easy to understand. 10/10 recommend her!
She will put a question up on the board and walk around while students work on it and answer questions along the way. I may have hardly passed, but that's because I suck at chemistry (Take it off-campus or over the summer). She is very sweet and provides lots of resources for her classes :-) Use them!!
She is very approachable and meets outside her office hours. The test was decent, she gives test possible questions. Lectures are video recorded and uploads them very promptly. I think lectures are long because we meet once a week, but she does not force us to sit in class. I see her videos for the concepts I have missed. Quizes are from the book.
i went to get help from her and she never showed up TWICE! the third time she was sooo rushed and she didn't even care that i didn't understand it my other chem professor is even more clueless and hse doesnt care because hes adjunct get it together Riddle!
Dr. Madiyar is the course monitor and is not teaching but mentoring all the professors teaching. Whenever I do not get answers from my professor I contact her and she is a very caring and loveable personality. She always has excellent answers to my question and taught me quite a lot of chemistry. I hope that she will teach chem-2 next semester. THK
I am not doing good in chemistry because the semester started with one day a week, but in middle of the semester it was changed to 2 days. Madiyar reached out to me if I had any issues, and did a quick zoom call, she understands student issues more than my instructor. She promptly answered 2 chem questions that my professor struggled with. Keeper!
very unhelpful!
SHE reached out to me b/c I was failing but she then gave me so much attitude and said I was lazy. Why so mean lady?
half my class is in quarantine and instead of helping us out shes making everything more eomplicated! I should have dropped it when weeks ago! NEVER take her!
Her tests are very challenging, she pulls the questions from the textbook. Many times they are far more difficult than the material taught in class, causing many grades to drop. The class is very complicated and I feel like no matter what I do I can never get an A on a test. Makes you feel like giving up sometimes.
She's so disorganized and rude
Ive seen much better.
Dr. Madiyar is the best professor in ERAU. She cares about her students a lot. I have multiple zoom meetings with her and always she was very helpful. She s also very quick in an email replying. Please take her class if you want to learn and get good grades.
she was not professional and always tardy
I came in after failing chem previously, and I can say that she is the first professor to support and believe in me so genuinely. She is very easy to reach and will mold her office hours to help you. She is the best. ERAU should have more of Dr. Madiyars.
Very good professor , office hours were fun very interesting and helps to get to the next letter grade. Work hard and you'll do fine
Very funny lectures, easy to pay attention to. Quizzes and tests are very doable if you memorize equations and make sure you're familiar w/ minimal concepts at most. The final was long and a little challenging but she taught us very well. Must take class in ERAU
Dr Madiyar is the worst Professor. She does not care about her students. She is always late in her zoom classes and we were wondering if class was canceled in the last minute. As she had canceled several classes with very last minute notice. Will not advise to take her.
Being this is an asynchronous, online course, she did way more than what my other professors did. She was respectful and helpful during office hours. She was unforgiving with grading, but it's a chem so that is to be expected. This was just as hard as I expected for chem. Best teacher. Must take in ERAU.
Dr Madiyar is the best professor I have come across. She is super caring and inspiring. Amazing with students and explains the concept in the best way. I would definitely recommend her class. High five for Professor Foram Madiyar.
she pretetnds to be nice and the nshe stabs the students in the back WORST PROFESSOR IN HISTORY!!!! TAKE ANY ONE ELSE!!
Dr Madiyar is worst and meanest Chemistry professor. She wants you to come to office hours but then she is either not there or late. She has preference towards some good students so if you are not in that group then bad luck. Take someone else.
Her questions are too difficult. She is sarcastic and her smile is insulting. She gets irritated and calls you stupid. Worst professor.
Worst professor. One simple message, do not take her.
Ugh she is awful. Worst teacher Ive had in decades.
She is very rude to her students and very condescending! She patronized me for not understanding her and she refused to clarify herself when I couldn't hear her! Stay away from her! SHE'S SUPER MEAN!
She name calls students She makes the material seem impossible She makes you feel dumb She makes you feel like she's SO SMART She is awful Avoid her! ERAU - why did you give me this professor?
Worst experience of my life. She was always late to class and her lectures were confusing. She constantly made mistakes but would get angry if you corrected her. Shes very disorganized and rude. Do not recommend.
Condescending and disrespectful person! Dr Madiyar cancels class last minute and she gives us unfair questions on our exams. She grades harshly and she makes fun of students. I would recommend taking chemistry elsewhere.
Dr. Madiyar was one of the few professors that taught extremely well. I took her biochemistry course and she was able to teach most of the difficult topics (citric acid cycle, ketone body formation, etc.) really well in a way that was easy to understand. She is my favorite professor I have had for any chemistry class.
Dr. Madiyar is a great professor who truly cares about the well being and future of her students. She is always available to help outside class and understands that there are really busy weeks and is willing to move the test so student feel more prepared. She is a great person which is why she is loved in the class room. Great supplemental videos.
She is an amazing professor, very understanding and caring when it comes to her students. She is almost always available to meet despite her being extremely busy, it really shows that she will put aside time for you no matter what. If you're expecting an A to be given without you earning it on a class like Biochem, you chose the wrong major.
This person does not teach anything. She cancelled class so many times and so last minute. She kept changing the due dates for everything and she would make fun of us for getting things wrong. DREADFULLY BAD!
I wish I learned some biochem from this awful person
I did all the work and followed all the direction. The problem? She kept changing the rules on us! Ask everyone in class. Avoid her at all costs.
I struggled for that B with all of my strength and I cried for help so many times but Dr. Madiyar never agreed to help me. Why is she so mean?
She spent the whole time in class complaining about other professors and about the department and she never helped out when I asked for help. Her exams were nearly impossible since they asked questions that had nothing to do with what we did in class. she was mean, disorganized, and unprofessional. 0/5
too demanding very little help
HORRIBLE disorganized mean incompetent ARROGANT she makes me wanna switch majors!!!!
Impatient and she does not know how to teach Organic Chemistry. She shouted at me for not understanding the concept and after that incident I could not dare seek her help again which resulted in an F grade. WORST INSTRUCTOR
The professor was very rude and tardy and not accessible. Additionally the way she graded us changed in the middle of the semester like all of a sudden some assigments were worth more then she said in the beginning
This professor changed how she graded us all the time without telling us and she was super harsh and never helpful.
Dr. Madiyar is one of the best professors in Embry Riddle, always willing to help. She is super intelligent and has a lot of experience in teaching, I heard she worked in Pfizer. No wonder she is incredibly smart. Love her lecture.
Wow, so many reviews for Dr. Madiyar. She's not an awful person, she's a great teacher who really cares for her students. I enjoyed her class and there are worse options for Chemistry.
Tests random specific things that are extraneous to the material. Assumes you can read her mind about what to expect.
if you can avoid her, do it! I wish I took this class at a different sschool or waited for another teacher to teach this.
Simply the best professor. Tons of office hours. Her class notes and lecture videos are very helpful to succeed in her class. I will definitely recommend her for any chemistry class.
The best teacher of physical science department, take her course if you want to understand and succeed in Chemistry and engineering. Love Her and her lecture. Will definitely take her again if opportunity rises.
A+ professor in all areas. Once you will start her classes, then only you will know her talent and dedication. You will enjoy it and learn a lot. Amazing lectures.... Must take class in ERAU.
She is my favorite professor in Chemistry class. She is the only professor who could teach the most difficult topics really well and that was easy to understand. She is great and very confident in the subject. Love her teaching style. Looking forward to taking another class of Chemistry with her.
Simply the best. Dr. Madiyar cares about your success. In the unconventional time, she is very patient with students. You need to read her lecture notes and watch her lecture videos. Do all her HW problems, getting an A is possible. You need to work to earn an A in her class, but she always there (on zoom and in person) when you need them.
Dr. Foram loves chemistry and wants everyone to love it too. She has like ten homework per semester and man they are hard. She wants you to come to her office hours and she will sit there and explain the most difficult chemistry in the most simple terms. She always responds to emails. Her tests are hard but they make the final look like a breeze.
thank goodness they replaced her in the middle of the semester. The new professor is much clearer and it's easier to understand him
omg omg omg i took this class last semester and it was atrocious! the material was sooo difficult to understand and the professor was NEVER there to help. Do yourself a favor and take this course elsewhere or switch out of aerospace physiology because she teaches so many of our courses
Wow !! amazing professor. Her lectures are awesome and test is so reasonable. Dr Madiyar is one of the best professors at ERAU. She truly cares about her students and will surely help you out after you finish her class if you need her. She is always in her office to help students.
Dr. Madiyar is the best professor in ERAU. CHM310 is difficult but her availability, including Saturdays and off-hours, is making it bearable.
this prof is petty
Dr. Madiyar is one of the best professors in Embry Riddle, always willing to help. She is super intelligent, hardworking, and has a lot of experience in teaching, I heard she worked in Pfizer that has a vaccine for COVID. No wonder she is incredibly smart. Love her lecture. Must take her class at Riddle.
She does not hold much office hrs and skip them. She is too excited and start speaking fast. Does not know much chem and teach sometimes wrong. She need more experience.
She can be more polite with his students then he is. Her lectures are boring. Avoid him if you can since he does not answer questions.
She did not help much but course was easy. Just read book and you will be fine. Avoid if you can though.
Excellent professor. always ready to help. Will provide all the assistance to succeed in the course. Strongly recommend. A plus. She is the best
Professor Madiyar is EXTREMELY accommodating during this pandemic. Her class is very well structured on Canvas, as well as her office hrs are very helpful. The exams are fair and she is always available to help.
The work she gives her students is not manageable. She gives a ton of work that can never be expected to be completed by a human in the amount of time given. Sh constantly likes to brag about herself. She failed half the class after giving a take home final. Who does that?
I never rate, but in this situation I had to. Madiyar is actually awful, don't expect to actually learn in her class. I'm going to now spend the summer teaching myself things this summer that I should have learned by attending every lecture. Stay away
Simply the best. She makes class fun. My first semester at Embry and was very nice.
AWFUL! I know nothing and she thinks she's an amazing human. But she actually sucks. On top of being an awful Professor she expects you to know everything and her exams are beyond difficult most of the stuff she hasn't even taught
AWFUL! Teaches nothing, leaving the class you won't know a thing Not to mention her assignments are way too hard and unreasonable and she is really terrible at lectures. She kind of just reads a powerpoint and thats it. Pretty useless class, but you have to go for the in class assignments. Shes also obsessed with herself
Going to lecture is pretty much useless, the only reason to go is for the in class assignments because they are part of your grade. I learned nothing Her passion is organic and the class totally ignores other aspects of chem Class sucks.
I think it may be a cultural thing, but she yells a lot! Her accent is very thick. I did online chem with her and he wrote out the notes. Handwriting was horrible. The only good things were the practice problems. I honestly can say I learned nothing in this class. Shewould confuse us at times. So many formulas. Shegets mad when you don't understand
Horrible attitude! In the syllabus it talks about respect she gives none. Yells at students tells them to wake up. Never encouraged us to meet with after class. Hard to understand, likes to argue and her handwriting is horrible. Whenever people would try to take notes and ask what she wrote she would get upset.
The only teacher I am not struggling to understand. She gives good examples of the concepts covered. She makes students participate very much in class. Take her for CHM110.
Excellent teacher. Very helpful. Best email communication among all the teachers I've had.
Tough grader and expects you to have a decent knowledge of chemistry. But, the workload is not a lot, and you will learn greatly. Highly recommend! If you work hard, you earn what you get!
She's fantastic, seriously one of the best I have ever taken. If you like chem, go talk to her during her office hours even if your question doesn't have to do with course material. She's really funny and very nice. She will encourage you to learn the material within the course and will do her best to answer any questions you have about chem.
I came in after failing Chem previously, and I can say that she is the first professor to support and believe in me so genuinely. She is very easy to reach and will mold her office hours to help you. Homework and SI are very close to the test so just stay on top of it and try to understand, and you'll be fine.
By far the best professor I have ever had. Great personality and really cares about what she teaches. Lectures are great and her night lab is amazing. Never seen a professor as prepared and knowledgeable as Dr. Foram.
I liked Dr Madiyars teaching style. Her problem solving is excellent. She tries to make the class fun and lighten up the mood, which is great. Love her. Very impressive.
Loved Dr Madiyar class of chemistry . She is amazing professor. Very smart and intelligent, knows the subject and how to teach very well, very experienced. Will recommend other students
Amazing professor. She is very kind and sweet. whatever she teaches she goes in depth. Very dedicated and hard working. Would take her class again
Wow !! amazing professor. Her lectures are awesome and tests are reasonable. Dr Madiyar is one of the best chem professors at ERAU. She truly cares about her students and will surely help you out after you finish her class if you need her. She is always in her office to help students.
Dr Madiyar is always enthusiastic on what he teaches and willing to help you in her office hours. She cares about her students success. Tests are fine but u need to practice her video and class work materials, home work to do well. Loved her class :) must take class in ERAU.
Simply the best professor. Tons of office hours. Her class notes and lecture videos are very helpful to succeed in her class. I will definitely recommend her for any physics or chemistry class.
I liked Dr Madiyar's teaching style. She breaks down each concept in small parts. Her problem solving sessions are excellent. She tries to make little fun here and there to lighten up the mood, which is great. Love her as teacher.
Dr Madiyar is very patient and polite, actually too polite as an instructor. Her lecture notes and class lecture videos were so helpful in doing well for me. She had regular office hours on MS Teams and Zoom. No problem for me. Received B due to my reasons and no fault of Dr Madiyar. Will definitely take her again if opportunity rises. She is best.
Best professor. Patient, helpful supporter.
Dr Madiyar is very patient. Her notes and In class problem sheet is helpful. Look at the solution sheet after practicing and try yourself first. I will recommend her for any chemistry class.
She is the best. Very reasonable work load excellent organized lectures and her Canvas Page is the best among all courses I took at Riddle. Highly recommend.
I took this class in Fall 2020, where COVID had affected the semester, where it was online. Professor Madiyar is great, she is very understanding. There was a "textbook", but she put it on canvas. There were two tests this semester. She takes feedback from her students very well. As long as you do your work, you'll be fine.
Dr. Madiyar is a very kind professor and is willing to help students in her office hours. Tests can be a bit tricky sometimes since it is biochemistry but she offers extra credit on the exams. Make sure to understand the concepts in this class since most of the questions are conceptual.
Dr. Madiyar is one of the kindest professors I've ever had. Her class is hard if you don't work for it, but she is always so understanding whenever a student has a problem or needs some extra guidance. She will be there for you, and she truly wants all of her students to succeed.
Her passion for Chemistry is palpable and contagious. She truly cares about the subject and her students. Even on an online format, she is amazing at cultivating participation and genuine curiosity.
Dr. Madiyar truly cares about her students and the class. However, the class itself is pretty difficult considering it is a science class for non-majors. Lectures can drone on, and you would definitely have to put in a LOT of work for an A with all of the things that factor into your grade. She is kind and energetic about her job, very caring
Dr. Madiyar has an incredible amount of energy, and you can't help but smile in her class. Her lectures are clear and entertaining. She is upbeat and genuinely cares about her students. Her class can be difficult, but it's certainly worth it.
I took this class for Gen Chem 1 and 2. The second semester was spring 2021, so most of my experience with her was in person. She was a really fun professor that made learning fun. Was still hard work, but definitely manageable especially if you study in groups. I found having taken AP Chem in high school helpful.
Dr. Madiyar is a really great professor! She really cares about her students, and she is super fun and upbeat, which makes chemistry much more bearable than it would be otherwise. However, this class requires a LOT of work (I mean chemistry should, shouldn't it?) and you will need to study a lot, but if you need to take chem, take it with Dr. M!
Dr. Madiyar is the reason I passed my chem class. She recognizes her class has mostly non-majors and structures the difficulty accordingly. She cares deeply about all 40 students. She gives you the best chance to succeed in the course. Her course can be difficult--especially her final exam--but she makes sure you get through it alive and well.
Dr. Madiyar is nice. She really tries to make her class interesting. I would only take this class if you are hard-working. She does give practice tests which is a great help. She is the best in reaching out the struggling students as well.
Dr. Madiyar cares about student and she put more then 100% to make her student successful. She was on maternity leave even then was holding zoom office hrs. Have not seen such a dedicated teacher, you must not miss her class in ERAU.
The class itself can be a lot of work with quizzes and homework every week, and multiple module videos to watch before discussions. However, I HIGHLY recommend going to office hours!! The professors are really nice but can be strict on quiz grading. Not hard to get an A if you work for it!
Simply the best. Her step by step problem solving and in class demo were very useful in doing well for me. Strongly recommend her classes.
I don't want to be rude but she just shouldn't be teaching. She is not nice and is very unprofessional over email, she has literally made fun of students. You never have to interact with her over zoom/real life unless you need to ask something (which happens a lot because her instructions are so unclear). It is very sad that she is in ERAU.
The final letter grade assignments completely lacked transparency. No final grade boundaries were given. There allegedly was a curve but nobody knew by how much. The syllabus changed many times without warning. Scored copies of the final exam were not available and neither were keys. Lectures poorly recorded and explained very little. Good luck.
Not good.
The best prof of Erau.
Excellent professor. always ready to help. Will provide all the assistance to succeed in the course. Strongly recommend. A plus
She is my favorite professor in Chem class. She is the only professor who could teach the most difficult topics really well and that was easy to understand. She is great and very knowledgeable in the subject. Love her teaching style. Looking forward to taking another class with her.
Great teacher!
Professor Madiyar is the best chemistry teacher I ever had! I'm so scared taking a chemistry class because I have a terrible chemistry professor when I was in high school. I just learned how to appreciate chemistry more and never think that chemistry will be an easy A for me. You need to study though but the tests are straight from the study guide.
Dr. Madiyar is so sweet and treats her students like actual people who also have lives outside of her class. There is still definitely a good amount of work involved, but she is very accommodating and will happily work with you. She can be a little disorganized, but don't let it stress you out too much as she wants you to do well
Dr. Madiyar is definitely the best choice for gen chem 1. The structure of the course and the design of the tests aren't directly decided by her so I can't really judge her for that but she definitely cared about her students and their learning. It is a difficult class but if you get to study and practice a lot you'll be good. Best class
Professor Madiyar is such a nice woman and truly cares about her students. You can tell that she is very passionate about what she is teaching. There are attendance quizzes every week but if you show up, you'll pass. The tests are not very hard and there's a resonable final. Overall, 10/10 would recommend.
Best professor I've had at ERAU so far. She is so knowledgeable in her field which makes the material so much more interesting. The few assignments we were given were easy and the exams were not bad as long as you studied. Take her class, you will not regret it.
Shes a very professional teacher and has a passion for teaching! often makes silly jokes and cracks the class. would defo recommend
Dr. Madiyar wants you to understand concepts and digest them without just throwing them at you. She addresses questions clearly and her lectures are very helpful. Practice exams are very good practice for understanding Chem. There is quite a bit of online homework, but luckily you have unlimited attempts. Also, this course is indeed math-heavy!
She is an amazing professor and really wants you to understand the material covered. Se is not hard it's the material that is challenging, this class is heavy on math! She's very organized, has practice tests, homework quizzes, drops the lowest test, and there's an SI in class! Take her if you get an opportunity, & STUDY!!
fav professor, I've had at ERAU. I get so discouraged with math and chem and failed the first test, but he inspired me to work even harder. I was so determined, went to all of her office hours, and actually got an A and B on the next tests! Her passion for chemistry has rubbed off on me. if u ask for help she will not rest until you understand
I failed this class before her & then got an A with her! By far one of the most helpful professors!! She is so funny, caring, and usually gives some lead-way for you to get an A. However, DO NOT take advantage of that. She can be tough when you aren't trying. She gives her office number out to help you after hours if needed! Cool professor!
Best Professor. She's inspirational and very funny. Love this prof!!!!
Take Dr. Madiyar. Chemistry classes are hard on their own but she at least makes lectures enjoyable and engaging, just be sure to use office hours and discussion periods to answer your own questions. This class is hard if you don't use your resources but you can get an A by Studying hard an if you truly put in the effort to understand all material.
Dr. Madiyar is definitely the best choice for gen chem 2. Best class. Shear cares about her students and their learning. Not the easiest but you can get an A if you are willing to work a little.
Shes really nice and you can tell she enjoys the subject a lot. Your grade consists of really difficult exams only so make sure youre studying everyday. The grading scale will probably be curved twice so base yourself off the class average instead to avoid unnecessary mental breakdowns throughout the semester.
Shes a great professor and is actually good at explaining material if you dont understand and wont make you feel bad about it. Shes very approachable and quite funny! She provides a lot of resources for you to practice and ask questions. Its up to you to study and follow along. Class is doable but definitely difficult. Loved Peterson!
Professor Madiyar is a great lecturer and probably the best chem professor I have had so far. My only issue is the material is difficult especially coming from Chem2. It is a big transition, and more challenging examples/practice problems would have helped. It is still difficult to succeed because of the grade breakdown, as tests are all ur grades
Professor Madiyar was a great teacher imo. I really understood the material during her lectures. Granted, you do have to put in the effort outside of class, but she provides the foundation in class to do well.
Professor Madiyar is unprofessional and petty. she will deduct points for the most minor offenses and make you cry constantly. You should do yourself a favor and choose somebody else
Dr. Madiyar is literally the sweetest person ever, I really enjoyed her class. She didn't make me dread coming to class and always wanted everybody to do well. I don't see how someone can dislike her!
She lectures amazingly and she is the best.
The best prof of ERAU. Very kind to students must take her class
The tests are extremely difficult and often contain questions loosely relating to the material that was taught. You're essentially expected to teach yourself and master the subject at the level of a PhD student. She does not grade fairly and is rude and condescending. Beware: many reviews here appear to be written in the same way she writes.
The best prof of ERAU chem department.
She teaches the material in a way that makes sense if you pay attention. She listens to student feedback and adjusts test dates/content based on it. Take notes and look at the supplementary material she posts and you'll do well.
The things that Dr. Madiyar did cover for us, she covered well. Unfortunately, that was about a third of the actual content of the class, the other two thirds we had to study ourselves. If the professor wasnt even present it wouldn't have much impact on the class overall. Great person though! Just not very great professor.
One of the best professors I have ever taken. I haven't taken Chemistry in 7 years and she eased all my anxiety with phenomenal teaching. Her lectures are great and give you all the material you need to be successful, including practice tests. 100% take! if you love learning.
She is the most caring professor in ERAU. Loved her class. Demanding but not too much. Must take.
Great professor! With the tests, she is interested more in the process than if you arrived at the right answer. As long as you know what you are doing, even if you can't finish a problem you'll still get the majority of the credit. She showed enthusiasm for the course content and was overall a great professor.
Professor Madiyar is one of the best professors I had at ERAU. Her jokes are top tier and her lectures are amazing. If you show up to class, understand HW, and apply yourself you will do amazing!!!
Grading criteria was always changing, BUT she listened to students if we felt something was unfair. She cared about everyone succeeding, and she's a good person, but wasn't the best professor because her teaching style was really disorganized. Tough grader, but gave full credit for the last assignment so the whole class wouldn't fail the final
The best and most caring professor in ERAU. She holds lots of office hrs. Visit her office hrs and ask questions she has the best ways to explain chemistry.
Dr. Madiyar is an excellent professor. As long as you studied and paid attention to her lectures, you would do well on the homework and exams, although they did occasionally involve topics or details not covered in class, but easily located in the textbook. She listened to student feedback on the structure of the class and exams. Would take again.
She is the best if you listen you will understand her. She is the kindest prof in ERAU very smart and very polite.
She is very kind and smart. You ask for help and she will help you. Must take her class. You will learn a lot.
Dr. Madiyar is very smart and is one of the best lecture professors I've had. She also has a great sense of humor. She provides great practice problems during lecture, and the problems from the lectures are sometimes exactly like the ones on the exam. Just remember to pay attention and do the assignments. Must take her class.
She is the best. She explains things very nice way. Take her class. She cares about your learning.
She is the best. I hope she can teach me in PS117 as well next semester. She is very helpful, lots of office hrs, and in the office, she does not give away answers but makes us think and guides us to the answers. I love her teaching method, makes everything clear and understandable. Finally, there is someone who can teach me physics.Take her class.
She know how to teach. She care about her students. Her office hrs are very flexible. She explains thinks very easy and clearly. Take her class if you want to learn physics.
She is the best teacher I ever had in my life. She cares and wants to teach. Her labs are excellent.
She's honestly so good. She goes step by step at a good pace in lectures, does everything based on homework and book, gives us practice exams identical to the exams, grades only labs and exams, and fr as long as you don't do anything stupid in class and you follow her rules she is the best chem teacher; I have ever had. I would 10/10 takeher again!
Professor Foram is an excellent lecturer who makes complex physics concepts easy to grasp. The lectures are worth attending, and the textbook is helpful. Unstuckstudy and other study tools were great for preparing for exams.
Does not have a semblance of care for the wellbeing of her students
She really taught experimental chemistry. Loved her class, pre and post labs were the best. She is excellent in explaining complex concepts take her class.
The best prof as i now understand biochem. Ready for med. school. Must take class
Excellent teacher and excellent course. Loving it. The best part is lab. Real materials and detailed analysis. Very happy that I enrolled this class.
This class is not required, do not take it. Dr. Madiyar does not enjoy biochemistry (and told us this) and that is clear through her teaching. She writes everything on the board with little explanation and scrolls through pages and pages of notes. Any biochemistry I learned was outside of class. Near impossible to do well in.
The lab was a bit of a joke. The whole idea was to publish a paper off of what we did- but what we did didn't really work. The procedure wasn't explained very well and her TA seemed to better understand what we were doing than she did. I guess it could've been cool, but it wasn't run very well.
She teach difficult topics in a way that students understand. She care about her students, office hours are very helpful. Her lab is very cool. She is Goddess of Bio Chem.
