Class is horribly boring but not too tough. Stickler for attendance. Easy points by doing easy assignments with one page papers attached. Only five total. Three tests. What you score on the final is your final grade if it is better than what you had going into it. Easy class. Reccomend it.

This guy is a great teacher. He cares what the students learn and is very helpful. I would definitly recommend him!

Forrest, as he prefers to be called is a great professor. Do your work, COME TO CLASS, take notes and you will succeed. He is so helpful if you possibly fail its your own fault. I completely recommend taking him if you get the chance.

First class I had with the guy, very intelligent. He really cares about his students. Has a lot of field experience which he brings into the classroom. If you are thinking about becoming a Geog Major...do it! He will make it very enjoyable and he is introducing many new classes to make the department better!

Exams are tough but the points all add up to get a good grade. I failed the first exam and by going to class and doing homework my grade raised and I receieved an A. Study for the exams and read his notes and you should be fine. Don't buy the book.

he's a great guy. loves goegraphy and is really good with lectures. he shows movies and slideshows every other week. he is a must take for geograpghy.

Very good class, pay attention and study his note packet and you'll do fine. I did not study for the first test and got a D, studied for second test for about an hour and got a B, study the notes and you will do fine. SHOW UP TO CLASS IT WILL BENEFIT YOU.

This professor is very good at teaching the material. The book wasn't used too much by myself except for when reviewing things for his tests. Tests are a little tough, but he give out an essay test. The essay study guide is the exact same thing as the essay test. Great Prof, highly recomended.

Phys Geo is an awesome class because of Forrest. He does a great job covering all the material and he has sweet slides along with 'Earthweek' which are interesting. There are easy attendance points and the tests aren't hard if you go to lecture.

Very Good Prof, Anyone on here who didn't like him obviously didn't go to class. If you want to do well in the class plan on going almost every day. If you do that its an easy A, by going to class everyday and somewhat paying attention I could've failed the final and still got an A in the class with all the extra credit he offers in class

Going to this, I thought that I am going to fail the class because I hate anything that has to do with science. But overall, I did better then I could have imagine. ONly recommend if you are gonna go to class everyday because never know what kind of activities he is going to do because that is how you are going to get those easy points.

This class was so packed with material that it almost seemed like too much to fully process at times. There will be activities to complete in class and extra credit opportunities outside of class - don't miss them! The 100 question multiple choice tests are quite hard, make sure you study. Overall it was okay, I received a B in the class.

Forrest is an AWESOME professor. If you go to class he will realize it and help you out as much as possible. He loves teaching, doing his research and is very knowledgable in Geography. I purposely have taken more of his classes and I'm now a double majoring in Geography. 101 is a great class to take, you will learn a lot of useful things!

He was super nice and his lectures were actually really interesting. the only thing bad was that he talked a lot about how the world could end at any moment from different types of natural disasters, kinda depressing.. .otherwise a really good prof.

As long as you go to class, your grade will be fine even if you bomb the tests. Also, if you have an F going into the final, but get an A on the final test, he'll give you the A for your total grade. He would also just drop a test if enough people did poorly on it. I'm no geog enthusiast but lectures were actually intersting.

He is a great teacher. Very nice and easy going. Show up to class! If you don't it is hard to follow for the test. And he was super nice in dropping our really low midterm.

He's a pretty easy going guy; the tests are kinda hard but he makes the class kinda interesting. He's really easy to talk to and it's more like he's talking to you in class instead of lecturing. Cool guy.

GO TO CLASS! the thing is i have never studied harder than i did for his tests and i still never got above a C on the tests. tests are EXTREMELY HARD. just not worth it for me. yet i still got a high B in the class.

Forrest is pretty awesome. He is really funny and wears shorts everyday. He also tells good stories and definitely knows what he is talking about. BUT.. his tests are really hard and you HAVE to study for them a lot. If you don't GO TO CLASS you are pretty much screwed.

Best teacher (besides Mackie) at Minnesota State. Very hard tests and it's hard to judge your grade... I got a D- and a B- on the tests, but because I showed up I had a 108.2%... Bombed the final and ended up with a 91.0%. Hard material, but very fun and involved teacher.

Good teacher hard test but he drops one and if you show up each day he gives you a lot of extra credit. If you show up and do ok on the test you will get an A

i admitt his tests are pretty dang har, but if you know all the meterial from the review sheet you're probly good. he gives lots af drawings and examples in class to help explain and all you're notes are printed for you,you just buy them. never opened the book once.takes attendance 11 times in the semester, make sure you're there for that!cool guy.

Let me just say Wilkerson is sooo weird. He wears shorts everday and the gross thing is he doesn't have the legs for it. tests are impossible. Homework is pretty easy and offers extra credit.What I liked about him is that he really wants his students to do their best and his very helpful. He is the MOST bOOOORING person on Earth especially at 9 am.

Forrest is the best professor I've ever had. I didn't think I'd like the class at first but if you actually pay attention and sit in the front, the class is extremely interesting. You learn stuff that pertains to your life. Yes it's a hard class but when you work hard it pays off in the end. I only had to get a 40% on the final to get an A!

just attend class. I never opened the book- and I got a high B-- only 1% away from an A. Just show up and your grade will be fine.

Great professor- knows his info very well. Tells you everyday about a catastrophic event that is going to happen and kill millions of people. Tests arent bad if you study the notes that he has printed out for you. Def. reccomendation

little too intense for a 100 level class. Easy to get an A provided that you work hard. there are points for attendance. Also gives couple of extra credit options. One advice to you guys : take the essay version of the exam and you will not be dissapointed.

Great Guy. Interesting Stuff. He really loves geography. You buy his notes that he already has made at the copy shop and you just highlight and draw the pictures he does. Tests are straight from the notes. Tends to cover a lot of material but it's not that hard to grasp. I got an A.

Great instructor and a wonderful class. He made it very enjoyable and he is a pretty funny guy. Going to class is very important for your grade. If you miss 6 class days where attendance is taken, you fail, period. I attended and learned a ton in this class. I wouldn't say I was very interested in geography prior, but I liked his class a lot.

This guy is not easy at all. His exams aren't easy either. U have to study real hard for them. You have to buy the work book which has a lot of assignments. Tough class overall. You have to be interested in GEOG otherwise you'll fall asleep.

He is a really good teacher, and knows what he is talking about. The tests are hard, but not impossible. He gets side tracked often, and gives a lot fo extra credit on his tests. I enjoyed having him because he i down to earth with reality. Staying awake is a problem though.

He takes attendance almost once every week. The Study Guides and Lecture are all you will need for a low A on the test. Book for 100%. He offers an essay version of the exam, gives you 15 possible questions on a study guide. memorize good answers for most of them = Ace test. He gives alot of time to do the Labs, Dont Forget about them.

Great teacher! His class is very structured and is strict with his rules but he is very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. Tests were hard, but when getting attendance and if you do the homework assignments you shouldn't have a problem with your final grade.

Very easy class! He is very helpful and is very clear on everything that is assigned. Works around your schedule. His notes are all you need for tests and being in class. Book was only used for online quizzes cause his tests are based off his notes not the book. Highly recommend this prof!

WONDERFUL TEACHER! My favorite teacher at MNSU. I wouldn't advise that anyone take this class unless they are extremely interested and dedicated. It is a pretty hard class, but if you put forth the effort, you can make an A. He likes to make sure people are actually learning, and he takes his job very seriously, so pay attention!

Extremely nice guy! He randomly takes attendance so you want to always show up. He sometimes strays from the topic but most of the time its interesting. If you show up and do the assignments you'll get an A.

He is so strict and calls people out for whispering in his class. You definitely want to get on his good side which is hard to do. Be prepared to go to every single class and never look at your phone or talk to anybody or you'll get yelled at for 10 mins in front of 300 people by him.

Badass dude! He does not take crap from his students, if kids are talking behind you, it will come to an end with him embarrassing them in front of the entire lecture hall. All you have to do to pass with minimum of a B is go to class and do the homework. So much opportunity for extra credit as well.

Do the extra credit it is so easy. Loved the class! It was interesting and he made the information easy to understand. Take him whenever possible. Just don't talk during his lectures and don't use your phone, he will call you out.

His classes are really fun & easy if you come to class & pay attention. He's always willing to work with students if they don't understand something, but you need to ask if you want help. He doesnt like people who disrupt his lectures and will call you out if you do. He's one of the best teachers in the GEOG department. Plus he gives travel tips!

very good professor, difficult grader but you actually learn things about the real world

Forrest is super cool. He takes attendance roughly 13 times within the semester, but it's randomly done. He also gives out exercises that are papers, but they're super straightforward. As long as you study for the tests, you will be just fine- his tests are extremely lecture based, and if you have questions, he usually leads you to the answer.

He is an amazing person and tells interesting stories, you can tell he loves what he is doing and knows a lot of stuff about the course. However, he tends to ramble and doesn't seem to cover the content thats on the test in class which makes the test somewhat challenging. The out of class exercises are super easy and you only have a few of them.

Never skip class. As there is no textbook, Take good notes during the lectures. He puts the ppt slides online so the notes and the slides are all you study. 4 convenient assignment papers where everyone can earn full credits easily. Forrest is an outstanding professor. Make sure you show up to class or you won't pass. His tests are somewhat difficult so make sure you read the book and study everything that is given to you. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Be ready for a lot of short answers on the exams.
