for a communications teacher, his communication skills were not that great. unfair marking, and he does not give any extra help either. if he's going to expect perfection from us i think he should establish that in himself first

STAY AWAY. makes you wanna kill yourself in class. Waste of money. He just likes to hear himself talk and doesn't appreciate other people comments.

This class and this prof were the biggest waste of time and money. He doesn't teach you a thing. The lectures are a waste of time unless you want to listen to him cough, clear his throat and take 5 minutes to get out a 30 second sentence. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, YOU WILL LEARN NOTHING.

Does not clearly communicate tasks required. Talks down to students. Makes people feel like they are idiots because they don't get what he wants from exercises. Marks unreasonably hard and biased on some imaginary criteria that he fails to highlight to his students. Horrible professor, makes an easy course a burden. Fotios, if you are reading this, you FAIL as a professor as well as a reasonable human being. Good luck.

THE WORST PROF I HAVE EVER HAD. He thinks he is nothing short of brilliant. You will not get a decent mark in this class, either drop it or take another prof because this prof will kill your GPA

Fotios is very intelligent and extremely eccentric,but at the end of the day a student wants two things from a prof: to learn and to achieve a decent grade. I'm not willing to compromise between the two. With Fotios it's a trade off- you might learn something, but you probably will not make the grade. Taking this class is a guaranteed C+/B.

Smart man, knows the subject well. But his way of "teaching" is non-existent. His standards are high, but he will not help you get there. He gives a 4 min example after every assignment is over of what he wants, then you will not see it again. Another Prof gave my friend the chance to do work over, if he did not do well. Not this guy. Expect a C.

Absolutely horrible professor, not a single moment in his class I can look back upon and say I had a good time or learned something of any value. You will not enjoy this professor unless your ego is as inflated and conceited as his.

IF THIS IS YOUR TEACHER SWITCH CLASSES NOW!!!! I had him for CMN and he was awful. Rude to classmates and made fun of them if they didn't understand. Super hard marker and will not give anything higher than an 80. Gave information on assignments after they were done then marked you wrong on his late information. Avoid at all costs.

If you have this professor, I advise you switch. he is rude to students, has locked people out for being a few minutes late, and will call you out for touching your phone. he will call you out if you get in class after he starts lecturing and is very intimidating. he won't care for his students he made me hate ever coming to his classes.

Communications is supposed to be one of the lighter courses but this guy makes it ridiculous. He should be teaching philosophy or poetry, not communications. If writing is not your thing drop out of his course immediately.

He is a very hard marker almost never got higher than a 50. He is also very stressful during the presentation and makes you uncomfortable while presenting. AVOID

This prof is literally THE WORST. If you have him for a class YOU NEED TO SWITCH OUT. He will go on random tangents about stuff that has NOTHING to do with the course for 45 mins. He does not let you use laptops or phones and will call you out if you do. His assignments are vague and barely make sense. Readings are 40 pages+. Save yourself fr fr

If you have Fotios, drop out. He is passionate about the material, but he could care less about his students. Has a superiority complex out of this world. Weekly quizzes are on 2 chapters (80 pages) for the first half of the sem, and gets angry when critiqued. Unnecessarily tough grader, has favourites. Could go on & on about how awful he is.

If you have him switch out ASAP. Lectures often stray off-topic or are not prepared at all. Readings are long and dense. He lacks compassion for students and doesn't allow for laptops to be used in class and will call you out for it. Would 100% not recommend.

Easily the worst communications professor at Ryerson. Switch out if you have him. If you are even a minute late for a quiz he will not allow you to write it, does not give makeup quizzes. Likes to listen to himself talk, rudely reacts if you disagree with his teaching style. Grades arbitrarily hard. Hostile and unapproachable for any sort of help.

This is absolutely the worst professor I have ever encountered at Ryerson. Fotios is completely rude and has a really horrible attitude ever. He often calls out students who make a mistake and tends make fun of them in front of the whole class. Long story short, if you are enrolled in his class I suggest you switch because you will hate it.

He is passionate about the subject but not about teaching. Assignment instructions were vague, appeared frustrated when students asked questions in class. No email policy was implemented. Was not flexible with time and did not feel supported by him. Weekly discussion posts were almost an assignment each. 5% late submission for each day.

this dude is the absolute worst. I am a student who is getting high 80s and 90s in calculus but this course is my worst ever grade yet. He does not believe in the stuff written in the textbook therefore if you follow the textbook YOU WILL FAIL. At the same tim his instructions are always super vague so if you DON'T follow the tb you'll still FAIL.

The content was not bad but the way he taught it was terrible. He made someone feel bad when they participated and made a mistake. Throughout the course and that kid asked questions, the prof would make him feel dumb for asking. He is a hard marker and won't provide you with a rubric. There's no way to improve in his class. A one-and-done class.

Worst Prof Ive ever encountered at Ryerson. You can work so hard and make a prestige level assignment which he will give a low mark because of his inflated ego. Early morning classes which are optional and gives the worst lectures which are straight up read offs from slides and textbooks. Is not contactable and does not reply to email at all.

Don't even take a chance with this guy. Worst prof I've had. Barely teaches anything and his marking is insanely harsh. Doesn't matter how hard you work, you will fail or receive terrible marks in his awful class

Horrible. Would never take him again. There is a lack of any flexibility with the course for a student. Be ready for 10 min quizzes at the beginning of every class based on the textbook, they are password protected so you need to be in class for them. NO PHONES OR LAPTOPS ALLOWED OPEN DURING LECTURES.

Prof. Sarris was the least accomodating person I have ever met. Boarder line unethical. A student had a sick baby at home and asked if she could do an assignment that was supposed to be done in class at home. He said no, that she would receive a zero if she did not come into class, despite having a sick infant at home. He was rude and dismissive.

Fotios is so inconsiderate. If you miss one class just for a small sickness, you will make you fill out a academic advisory form even tho you are capable of doing the assignment from home. Emailing him is a pain as he gives very short answers that don't even help.

The worst professor at TMU. Literally switch out of his class if you get him ASAP. You'll put your all into this course and end up with a mark you don't want. He doesn't like giving out good marks, and takes off so many marks for the worst reasons. He lacks sympathy, hates when students are tired, and doesn't explain anything in a nice manner.

I think this guy hates his job or something because you could do exactly what the rubric says and this guy will not give you anything higher than a 79.5. And if u God forbid ever email him, his replies are so dismissive, and he makes you feel like you're inconveniencing him.

From what I hear, he doesn't allow students to use technology in his in person courses so it makes sense why he's penalizing everyone who's in this online course. he's trying to sway students away from taking online courses. I know a number of students who, like me, only ever got 60-70 on all the assignments and all our other classes are B+ and up

Worst professor. He gave everyone same grade and accused everyone violating academic integrity using AI. Dont take the him.!!!

This professor is not a kind or compassionate person. He falsely accuses students of AI with no proof, providing everybody with the same copy pasted response. The hilarious thing is that it's a class about being professional and he is the epitome of unethical. He is biased, he hates his students and wants them to suffer.

I don't understand this professor. He will falsely accuse you of using AI and refuse to provide feedback even if the turn it in score is less than 5% and there is no actual proof, he just relies on his intuition. Not only does he accuse one of the use of AI, but threatened me 3 times that he will flag it as academic misconduct.

Class is online and asynchronous. He didn't give me feedback for the first or second assignment and accused me of using AI. I've never been accused before and he's not about writing better he's just very bitter. I think he's going through a difficult time. I mean he teaches at TMU not UofT - If he's so smart he should be teaching there instead.

Do not take him just cause the class is online I promise you it's not worth it.

Don't even consider taking this professors courses, if he's the only option, pick a different course altogether. Dropped my average terribly and the course material is so straightforward, it's just him. Wouldn't recommend.
