Great teacher. She lets you write and essay, grades it then lets you correct what you got wrong and she regrades it. Very helpful as well.

Nice lady, tough grader on papers, but gives you another shot. Shouldn't be a porblem passing at all.

Very easy teacher. We wrote a lot of papers but she doesnt grade hard. This class is mostly writing and some reading/discuss the reading as a group. Friendly teacher.

This teacher is unclear, but she is very fair and allows second chances for revision. As long as you keep up with the work, its not hard to make an A even if you don't ace the papers.

WHen I 1st started I 2 was overwhelmed & wondering what the h*ll I got myself into(an A!) YES! Holt is unlclear on asignments.ASK!!! I got thru the class, & cudnt have w/o her. Take the time 2 stop after class & she will go out of her way 2 help you!

Wonderful teacher! Intelligent, helpful, and interesting. This is by far the best class I have taken. Don't expect an easy ride but if you read the assignments you will be fine.

She is a teacher, who talks a lot on a subject that is not even broad enough, to talk about. So far I have no passed a single quiz she has given us. Gives a lot of reading assignments, which sometime take time to comprend. Overall, she is ok to have.

She seemed pretty fair to me. Don't expect an easy rid ebut if you actually try and work you can do well. Also, you will most likely write good(lol) when your finished with the class

Directions wasn't clear at first until we let her know that we didn't understand then she made it clearer. I enjoyed the class.

You can take a class and get the credit it for it, or you can take a class, get the credit for it and actually learn something from it. She makes you think! There is A LOT of reading to be done in the course, but do it and you are fine. Covers what will be on tests. If you need it,just ask for help!

never had a bad attitude toward the class. good teacher, knows what she's talking about. sometimes goes off subject (which is really one of the best ways to learn) but usually manages to bring it back around. willing to work w/us if we had questions or probs. recommend her and taking her next sem.

Easy to get a B if you just do the work. Those of us who do the work are getting atleast Bs, mostly As. There is a good bit of work but I came to school to learn, not just but my grade, and with Fran I have learned a great deal.

Excellent professor! Her class is informative and exciting. She always gives such an interesting perspective on the history behind the literature. Her papers may be difficult to write, she is always there to provide the extra help you need. Yet her assignments prepare you for serious college work.

She is nice out of class. She will work with you, but she is very hard. She does the research paper first. She is somewhat unclear. She is however pretty easygoing, but does not take late work. GOOD LUCK!!

If you have an opinion about something and can back it up (and yes, my friends, this involves reading the stories), you'll do fine! She will help you when you need it. Easy tests. Got an A both semesters.

Not a bad teacher but she does expect college level work. Heaven forbid if you have to do work and learn, that is what most of us came to do. If you want to get an A in the class then just show up and do your work. I know my friend and I both got an A, we did our work and actually learned something in the process. Surprise. MPC

Just do the work as explained and get a B. Do the work at a college level and get an A. Not a hard class if you DO THE WORK. She is very easy to figure out and pretty laid back. Pay attention in class and expect at least a B.

She is a wonderful and extremely fair teacher and is one of the few who lets you call her by her first name. If you do what she asks, then you'll do fine. She offers a fair amount of extra credit too which is nice. I highly recommend Fran!

Excelent class, the guidelines are set down from day one via VISTA. Clear expectations, if the work is done, and you follow the format she gives you then an A is fairly easy to get. Knowledgeable about the material as well as helpful in dealing with questions on essays during office hours or after class. Just follow her instructions.

You'll be expected to work hard in her class.do all the reading and you'll do fine in her quizes.check the vista website for assignments and questions,she's good about returning emails and if you catch in her office she'll gladly help you out, show her interest and it'll pay off. Focus on the paper. Make good notes & mark your book for quotes.

It is a hard class, but it gets fun after the midpoint of the semester.

I am not much of a writer and dreaded having to write essays. However, she was very helpful during the essay writing process and even dropped the lowest essay grade at the end. She offered two extra credit papers. It is advisable to read the assignments and speak your mind on what you read. She definitely prepares you for college level writing.

Fran as some students call her is a very nice lady. She's a bit wierd but she knows a lot about the subject. It's true that her quizes we're called out loud and also played as a jepordy game. Overall if the subject interests you then take the class, if you're like me and didn't give a $**! about the subject then find another class to take to meet y

She is a great teacher. Very strict at first but turned out to be very helpful and if you ask for help she is glad to help. I loved having her as my teacher, and if she taught any other english I am taking I would love to have here as my teacher!

She has been one of the best teachers I ever had. She is a college professor, so you do have to do your work. If you go to every class, listen, and do your best work you will be guaranteed success in the class.

I learned a lot from this teacher last semester, and although you really have to work at it, keeping up with all assignments and whatnot, you take away a lot from the class.

This class definetely isnt an easy A class but if you pay attention and take notes you should be fine. This teacher is really nice and is willing to take time to explain things if you dont understand them fully. There are a lot of papers to write, but she gives you enough time to do them.

At first I was only interested in taking this because it satisfied what I needed to Graduate. After being in the class I began to gain interest and Ms. Holt encounter assignments are awesome. She gives the option on which to go to. If you read the materials and attend class you'll do well. Ms. Holt wants her students to succeed, but no free ride.

He has a pretty ok class, I like the way he grades quizzes. I'm pretty sure if I had put in more effort I would have made an A. Although he can be very sarcastic, he also helpful. In order to pass the class you must show up and you must do your paper assignments.

love this teacher! read the chapter, take a quiz with a note card. 2 easy papers. Class discussions were fun, informative, and interesting. Lots of extra credit.

Loved Professor Holt. Took him for my first 2 english classes. If you try, you will pass. But if not (don't come to class, don't do the notecards...) you probably won't. Holt is really funny and very helpful to those who ask for it. Really engaging class, I'd take him again.

Mr. Holt expects students to work hard for a good grade, but he is also there to help them become a better writer.
