HE IS TERRIBLE! IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY END UP IN HIS CLASS-DROP!!!
Easy class,, history lessson everyday was borng though. lol
This man is a horrid Literature teacher!!! He is incredibly boring and likes to put harsh comments on essays if they don't agree with his opinion. I would not NOT recommend him to anyone for english 232.
DON'T EVER TAKE HIM. HE IS HORRIBLE. AND HE STINKS!
The class somewhat boring, but if you make the effort to communcate with him about a problem he's very helpful. he's a very nice and friendly man if you open up to him.
I believe he is a great person and his class was really interesting. if you work and pay attention you'll get your b. I'm a history buff so i really enjoyed his stories. Very helpful if you ask for it. overall a great person....

He might not be the most exciting teacher ever! But his class is great and if you do your work you will get your b!
he is interesting and gives a chance to redo papers for better grade
he has to be the mos boring professor on the planet. but his class is pretty simple if u can stay awake.
It's alot like high school English. He's really easy on the grading, and as long as you show some interest in his class, he'll be somewhat flexable on the due dates of the assignments. Proficiency is a garaunteed Passing grade. Somewhat of a Hippy, research paper was not too difficult. Just do the research, and its a definite A.
He likes to speak to a very few # of people in the class - however, he does make an effort to help, sometimes.
He is very Boring! and when I say Boring, I mean like you can sleep in this man's class borin' but if you do your work in the English book and read really read and actually do your own papers u will pass!
He is def. a nice guy and a good teacher but he is boring ALL THE TIME, but like i said he is a nice guy and is very easy going. His quizes aren't hard and he gives you plenty of time to write your paper and he has class peer reviews to help you revise any of your papers AND he is always willing to help out. I would recommend him for this class.
This guy is BORING. funny at times... very seldomly. He acts as if he is more interested in his philosiphy in life than anything else. If you try, you will atleast make a C
He wears really exciting socks to class. Sometimes he'll surprise us with a Mr. Rogers sweater vest. However, this is the most exciting part of the class.
Mr. Broussard was a very nice man! He can be very boring but if you go to class and do your work you can easily make an A or B. Just sit in the front and make sure to talk to him because he will go out of his way to help you on a paper or assignment!
he is a horrible teacher he don't explain things clearly and expect u to know everything don't take this teacher
dont ever take his class he is very boring and talks about nonsense the entire class period so please dont take this man
this man is nice though boring and i sat in the front and pretended to be intrested in his war days. he will help on papers and give you a chance to revise your paper
This professor is a very fair man. He is quite dull, and easy to ignore, but very helpful. This class was an easy A. However, this is an English class. There are papers to be written. He grades very easily, will provide help if asked, and cares about his students.
He is alright. He'll let you re-do papers as long as you act interested.Doesn't grade too strict, but make sure you thoroughly know about your topics. Otherwise, he'll make you feel stupid.Came out with a B, but it was very hard to stay awake.
class is not meant for freshman english composition, of course. Enjoyed his class, he relates fascinating ideas and history to essays being discussed. problem is he reads it to you, kinda boring
This teacher is extreamly boring. He is very modatone and does not make the class very intresting. I found myself doseing off almost every time I was in class. He was not very helpful with writting papers and made things confusing when he tries to explaine things.
Easy teacher. I just try and answer questions in class and got on his good side. Not a strict grader but is kinda boring to listen to. Nice guy. TAKE THIS TEACHER.
Easy class. He tells a lot of stories (which I personally find interesting,) and there is a lot of reading from the book. He will explains what the author meant, etc. Paying attention to his explanations are the key to passing. Don't go to sleep (as easy as it is,) or you will pay with your grade. Wake up, you're in college now.
Mr. Francis Broussard is a cool guy. I find him boring at times but, other times it can be very interesting. If you are a good writer, you can make it through the 232 class easily as long as you keep up with the readings or even if you don't you can still do fine.
I think anyone who has an opportunity to take this teacher should go for it. He is very helpful and checks your work to make sure you are doing it right before you ever turn it in. He tells you weeks in advance when things are due and is pretty laid back. He is very funny and kind hearted. He takes an interest in each student. Loved it!
Although boring at times, he was a relatively good teacher who was very very willing to help his students. He is very lenient and not strict on turning in late hw. However, you have to be willing to work hard in his class and not slack off because there is a few papers you have to write. But like I said, he is very willing to help!
He was fair as long as you had good grammar and spelling and gave him what he asked for.
This man is so boring he would be the perfect bedtime story teller. If you decide to go to class you will most likely end up sleeping. I recommend another teacher.
So very boring. Thinks he is funny but isn't. He creeped me and other girls out by playfully slapping or kicking us. Assignments are easy if you write well. Just have thesis statement and support your topics with quotes from the stories. 4 writing assignments plus 2 tests (each test 3 essays). Very helpful and okay with late work if you beg.
Helps you so much. I had him for 101 and 102 and I liked him a lot. He review your papers well. And let's you redo a lot of papers. Get him!
at first i was like are you kidding me hes very borning but easy all you have to do is make sure that your grammar is good i went from a C's from grammar to almost all A's just take notes from his reading and do what you need to do as a college student and you will be fine also ask him for help it goes a longggg way
Really interesting. You can tell he enjoys teaching!
Hes a corny old guy but really friendly He is pretty boring but if you at least act like youre listening to him give a little nod here & there & participant in his story/jokes he?ll like you (Its kinda like he tries to be your buddy) He'll edit your whole paper in class if you finish it If you have patience & are laid back hes a good, easy teacher
At the start of the semester I thought his class was boring. Within a week or two you get to understand Mr. Broussard, he is a relaxed, funny old man. Class is not mandatory but I recommend attending for notices of future assignments. He doesn't grade to hard but overall not bad. He lets you rewrite all of your papers you do well or bad on! 5/5
Mr. Broussard is a relaxed, nice, intelligent, funny old man. He doesn't grade to hard and he lets you rewrite all of your papers you do bad on. He is the sweetest man you will ever meet and will explain everything in depth so you are not confused. I LOVED HIS CLASS & I HATE ENGLISH!
He is helpful teacher who provides opportunity for International students to improve their English. Cool teacher, always smiling. attendance is not mandatory but gives bonus for attendance.I recommend him for all of you, especially the International students. he is my best teacher..Thanks Dr. Broussard.
GREAT teacher. He can be a tough grader, but very willing to help. Students tend to blow him off b/c attendance isn't mandatory, but those are the people that he's less likely to spend time helping. He also lets you correct your papers and re-turn them in at the end of the semester. I would highly recommend him.
He likes to bond with students during class, he's funny and sarcastic. Most grades are from your papers, so use the writing lab! He can be a tough grader, but if you're a decent writer, you should do fine. I think he's a great teacher. btw- he's old and wears fun shirts. XD just so you know.
Great teacher for students interested in a good grade, and are willing to work for it. For a person of average intelligence his explanations are quite clear, they are essential to understanding the essays you are to write. His corrections are also thorough. Take this class, work, learn from the corrections, and you will come out a better writer.
Mr. Broussard is the sweetest most helpful teacher I have ever had. I always turned in my papers late and he was very understanding to my situations. He's not the type of teacher that doesn't believe you when something comes up. I had a severe cold for most of the semester and he was very helpful.
Most of the comments below are for English 101 and 102. All I can say is for English 232 try to avoid there are no tests just papers. He just reads the entire classes and assignments are vague. Hard grader. He will help if you ask him though
Hard grader and kinda boring, but accepts late work and let's you redo your work.
He talks the entire class and you never get out ealry. He reads all the stories to you and then explains them so take notes. It's boring but easy. The mid term and final are three essays
VERY vague with assignments. Your only grades are writing assignments, and the midterm and final which are 2 essays each. No point in going to class becaus he just reads to you what you've already read. Class is not interesting because hes monotne. I highly do not recommend this professor.
Loved him! I took him for both 101 and 102 and though the assignments were mostly papers and a few citing assignments, he allowed revisions and actually gave a lot of helpful comments on the essays. He allows students to do revisions for points and is helpful whenever needed. He is an amazing teacher! I am terrible in English but got A's!
I do not like ENGL at all. I am pretty bad at writing papers, but he helped me whenever I had problems. If you finish your assignment early in class he will go over with you and may even let you leave early. He also is pretty lenient about turning in late assignments, and he will let you revise some papers.
He is soooooooooooo boring but he grades easy just make sure your grammar is correct and you write about the topics and going to class is not mandatory until he gives those 2 in class assignments
Very sweet teacher! I recommend him, he is very helpful. Lets you turn in work late and is willing to help you if you need it. Hes funny and understanding. (Mr. Taco)
Such a sweet man. Always allowed late work and is extremely helpful. I would recommend him to anyone!
Would recommend taking this course online. I took it on campus but you do not have to go to class. All he does during class is basically summarize the stories anyway. Very easy class and does not require attendance. I only went to turn in papers and passed with ease.
I made a B in this class. HIs classes were boring at times. He always managed to trail off and talk about when he was in the Vietnam War. I was homeschooled and pretty much had never written a paper before taking this class. He definitely helped me learn how to write papers.
Typical government worker. Does a terrible job teaching and then criticizes you for the bad grade. His comments that he writes on your papers are very blunt and biased. Never seems interested in helping you or anybody else. He's very old and be quite boring and it makes class so miserable. Do your self a huge favor and take someone else!
Class can be very boring but it is super easy. I took him twice and made an A both times. He will help you if you ask. You do peer reviews which is easy points and helps you improve your writing and he allows 2 revisions on essays which helps your grade A LOT at the end! Boring but great teacher! Take him
This has by been the most insulting experience I have ever been in. I am a good student and more specifically an A student in English and have been since the 1st grade. He insults your intelligence every chance he can and if you speak against him he will take it out on your grade. I have an 80 B and my last English I had a 98. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!
Let's you turn in late work which is a plus, but that's if you can look passed the long long long boring lectures... they're really boring. If you plan on skipping his class a lot you won't pass. He's a very tough grader, doesn't curve. He was okay, I wouldn't advise taking his class at 8 am. If you're looking for an easy A, look elsewhere
Broussard is the cutest, sweetest old man and I enjoy going to his class. His grading is easy and he understands if something's late. His humor matches his charming personality.
He's really great. His lectures can be boring, but that's really just the assignments. He does let you turn things in late. If you need help, ASK HIM. He's sort of a hard grader, so if you're not good at English, don't take him.
The majority of the grades are essays, and not turning in just one will butcher your grade. He's a very cute old man, though, and walks you through every essay and grammar assignment. Pretty much gives you answers. Gives you whole class periods to work on essays and ask questions. The only negative is that he reads you everything, which is boring.
If you don't like writing papers or sitting through long boring classes, do not take Broussard. His lectures are tedious to get through. All he does is read the stories to the class. There are two out-of-class writing assignments and two-in-class writing assignments. Mid-term 2 papers Final 3 papers Total of 9 papers for the whole class.
Professor Broussard was an amazing teacher! There are a lot of readings, but if you just go to class you won't have to read everything because he goes over it all in class. The essays he assigns are pretty easy because he pretty much tells you what to write.
Professor Broussard is extremely kind and will help you if there is something you do not understand. He gives good feedback and is not unfair at all.
I don't recommend him. The lectures are long and irrelevant. Attending class is required. The papers weren't bad at first because before the midterm two two paged papers were due and he didn't grade them hard. However, the midterm was two 3 paged papers and he said the final would be three 3 paged paper and he is not clear on what he wants. dropped
Professor Broussard is awesome, and the people who got bad grades in this class must have not tried very hard. If you ever have any questions, or need help on your papers he is there for you. I've taken both his 101 and 102 English classes and I received As in both.
Great professor. The assignments are straight forward and as long as you try and your essays make since, you will pass. He goes over the material in class so no one is confused about what happens when you have to write essays. Extra points come from attendance and works cited exercises. He checks the exercises in class so everyone should have a 100
This is my second semester taking Broussard. I really like him and like the way he grades. There are no test. All of the small class assignments are the same as the ones he gave in 101 so keep them and fix your mistakes. Only 4 papers. Usually ends class early, really laid back. It is not hard to do well in his class
He is SUCH a sweet old man! He assigns readings for each class & during class is when you really dive deep into the stories. He gives you a great explanation. Trust me when I say these helped SO MUCH when I was writing my essays. Class may be a little boring but he means well. 9 essays for the semester. I'm just not an english person. You must try
He assigns a lot of papers but he gives reasonable periods of time to complete them!not a tough grader on papers except for grammar&mechanical errors. If you struggle with those, getting him to proof read all of your papers is a good idea & he will do it for you. Do all of the peer review assignments that he gives because they will catch up 2 u
DO NOT TAKE HIM IF YOU DONT LIKE WRITING LOTS OF PAPERS!!!!! he gives you paper after paper to write and is big on grammar, not really what you actually write in the paper. please do not take him if you hate doing papers every week like me.
He was extremely boring, but an overall nice old man. He didn't grade papers that hard, but we had a couple of in class activities that could bring your grade down if you didn't do them. He let you turn in assignments late and he really wanted you to succeed. Don't take him early in the morning because his soft boring voice will put you to sleep.
He is a nice professor but I do not like how he grades. He assigns multiple papers with difficult topics. He wants you to analyze papers as he would. He is boring but at least I was nice enough to listen to his boring stories. I received a C in a subjective course
He treats the class as 102A and is not easy going on the class at all.
I am so glad I had Professor Broussard! He is a very sweet man who cares about his students and their grades; he only assigned 3 full essays and gave us the chance to revise each one. If you don't do too well on the essays, he throws in small assignments every now and then to help. Sometimes class is boring, but for me, that was easy to overlook.
Very easy to make an A. Gives three essays and gives good feedback and allows u to revise them after. Gives a few small assignments to boost grade. The whole class is about Native Americans.
Hes lenient on grading when it comes to turning in assignments late.
He grades heavily. I excel in English and this is the first class that I have received less than a B in. If you have the opportunity, do not take him. I wish I had looked on here before I chose him.
Very helpful with papers. If you like writing, youll like his class. Gives a proficiency exam though.
Just show up to his class and make an effort. YOU WILL PASS HIS CLASS IF YOU SHOW HIM THAT YOU MAKE AN EFFORT. He likes to talk a lot about his life sometimes as opposed to the subject we are discussing. If you do all your work and do it right he will let you leave early.
He's unique, enjoyable to listen to, and just a great man. Period. Follow the readings and due dates in the SYLLABUS. Yes, it is quite a bit of reading- but it was enjoyable and well worth your time. No, you don't have to go to the lecture, but it would be a reallllllly good idea. If you take good notes, it will make the papers pretty easy.
He isn't a bad professor. You can tell he loves what he does but beware of the many papers you'll have to write. A paper is due almost every week. He does allow you to revise your paper after it is graded, and then takes the average grade of both, so that's a plus. If you are not good at writing papers I do not suggest taking him.
The majority of time spent in class consists of him reading the text literally word for word from the book. He fills the class time with irrelevant stories, so don't expect to leave early. This would be the ideal class to skip but unfortunately he takes attendance for every class and will report you if you miss more than 4 classes. Easy grader tho
SO BORING. Not the take notes boring, the sit down and read you literature the WHOLE TIME boring. He is also a really tough grader. Actually so tough, its kind of ridiculous. He takes points off your paper for such little things. You just sit there the whole time and do nothing. It is so hard to pay attention and listen. GOOD LUCK
Honestly just show him your trying. Sit in the front, make eyecontact, and try to comment when he asks questions. I recommend just reading the summaries of the required readings and recording lectures. There are a lot of papers but if you email them to him beforehand, he doesnt mind giving feedback.
He is a very sweet person, but his class is broing. He lectures the whole time and reads over stuff that youre supposed to read the night before. There are 2 essays, 2 inclass assignemnts, a midterm and the final. If you email him your papers beforehand he wil provide feedback.
he gives the most boring lectures every single class and takes attendance every class
This professor just reads and reads and reads, if you are able to pay attention (super hard to do) you can get some good tips for the next paper. You writing several essays and he is very strict on grammar and tense but if you put in the effort its an easy A.
His lectures can get kind of boring and a little hard to stay engaged in, but he is a good professor and is very caring and understanding. He is also very kind and wants. you to do well. I would recommend his class if you are truly interested english.
