Don't you dare take this man. An easy A at the cost of paying $6000 (or the opportunity to take a class on scholarship) and being treated like a 7th grader on a good day. Clearly doesn't prepare and is not ready for any questions. Beware.
If you are looking for an easy A in micro take him. He lets you retake tests as much as you like and homeworks are very easy. Knows his material and is well prepared
guy should do one of those sleep apps cuz hes way too good at puting kids to sleep
Lectures are quite boring, literally almost fall asleep every class. Attendance is not mandatory, and you can Zoom his class as well. Quizzes and tests are online, and he looks out for his students by letting us take the quizzes as many times as we want. Tests are definitely somewhat harder than the homework and quizzes. 10/10 adorable personality.
Relatively easy class that can be passed without even attending the lectures. All the exams and quizzes are online and homework is due once a week. The quizzes can be taken infinite times, but the tests are unexpectedly hard. Make sure you understand the textbook and homework and you'll be good. Very nice and will reopen the homework if you ask
Monotone lectures in a giant room, all assessments are online out of class, as is homework. You don't need to show up to pass, but if you do you may accidentally find yourself catching up on sleep. The class isn't bad though, just boring, but you'll get an A.
Lowest test score is dropped and homeworks help out grade.
Professor Geroges is a pretty good professor for entry level economics. His lectures are a little monotonous but he will cover everything that you are tested in his lectures. He wants everyone to succeed and is very understanding and will give you a few days to complete online tests, will drop your lowest grade, and will go over quizzes in class.
I went to one class this entire semester and I still have a good grade! He is an amazing teacher who zooms all his classes. He sends out announcements at the end of each week when there's something important happening. The class does take some memorization, but compared to everything else it's easiest class. Plus he drops the lowest grade!
Lots of lectures in this class. I barely went to class at all but I still did fine. His slide presentations are all you really need. You can read yourself if you don't want to hear him speak. The homework is easy and the tests were online. Pretty easy grader. All-round chill guy.
Pretty easy class if you do the reading, attendance isn't mandatory but he's a good teacher and covers everything you need to know in the lecture
We need to protect this man at all costs. He is wholesome but his lectures are very long and not engaging at all. Tests are conveniently online, therefore, making attendance optional for the most part (though I don't know why you wouldn't want to see him every day <3). Prof is clearly very knowledgeable but it's hard to retain information from him.
Prof Georges is very nice but terribly boring. Everything you need to know is on the slides, lectures are very long/bland, and you definitely dont need to go to class to do well. Exams are multiple choice with a few basic math calculations.
Very easy A. Classes are so large everything is online.
I love this man. I picked a class purely so I could go to his class again after having him for 1116. He is a great teacher, makes everything easy to learn, and really cares about all his students. Super approachable and willing to help you retain any information from his course that you feel you need help with. Literally my fave econ teacher.
Attended class first day and for the remaining of the semester, I would sleep through zoom or not attend at all. But his course is really easy. You get multiple attempts on the homework and quizzes but the tests are a lot of multiple choice questions so thats the only thing to be prepared as long as you read much of the textbook.
Super easy class, tests at least when I took it was open note
Easy class -- only went for the first few weeks. 5 tests that are all open note AND the lowest one is dropped.
Very easy class with easy tests and homework. Take this class for micro
His class is a good fit for literally anyone. If you want to learn, read textbook and go to class, he is very thorough and explains content well (a bit boring though). However, if you're just looking for an A you can go to the zoom lectures (or not) and do the work he assigns on time. Tests are easy and online. Such a nice guy too!
SO. CHILL. like almost too chill. Don't even have to go to lectures if you read the textbook. Tests are straightforward and easy. HW helps you learn the content. Take as an easy welcome to college course
He is super caring. The lectures can get a little heavy but he prepares you well for the exams and everything you need to know. I agree, protect this man at all costs.
Professor Georges cares about his students and only wants to see them succeed. I only went to class a few times and just watched his recorded lectures which had great information. His homework and exams are also straightforward and pretty simple. I would recommend this class + prof if you're looking for a fairly easy class.
Professor Georges is a super sweet professor who is very understanding about grades. His Principles of Microeconomics class was very interesting and easy.
100% take micro with this professor.
this class was SO easy. he drops the lowest test grade (including the final), gives a bunch of free extra credit on homework, and his few quizzes are unlimited attempts. and everything is open note. i stopped going to class like the second week and ended with an a. he's a caring person but his lectures are boring. def take if you want an easy a.
Such a nice guy. Very understanding and great at explaining content. Weekly homework's which take a while but you get unlimited tries so you should be getting 100 and they honestly help me learn a lot. Four take home quizzes done online but timed. They do test you but are open note. Final is in person. Highly recommend this professor.
This class is SUPER EASY, and francis is such a kind and chill professor, take him!!
Lectures are INCREDIBLY boring. Either read the textbook or go to class, no need to do both. Tests are easy and he allows notes. Not a course to take if you are looking for intellectual stimulation.
Very chill professor. You can totally pass the class without going to lectures and privately studying.
Material is straightforward and not too difficult. Open note tests and unlimited tries for homework. Prof Georges is nice and lectures are okay, but not particularly interesting or stimulating. Would recommend only if you need the credit, not if you are really interested in the subject.
Only lectures on the PowerPoint but tests are based off the online HW questions.
Great professor who's passionate about what he teaches. You can take from this class what you want - attendance is not mandatory and he posts zoom sessions to watch whenever, meaning you never have to go to class. However, I enjoyed going because Prof. G is very knowledgeable and I learned a lot. Open note exams and final. Easy A for sure.
Professor Georges was my easiest professor at Northeastern. All exams are take home and online and all you need to do is read the slides. Stopped going to class after the first month and ended with an A.
He is nice, caring, and accessible outside of class, and his class is lecture-heavy. He wants his students to succeed.
Very good professor .he understands his students and do everything to help them
Professor Georges is an extremely chill professor and will give you every opportunity to get a good grade. The lectures can be a bit dry, but he does have a sense of humor that shows every once in a while. Textbook is important, but he really gives you a chance to get a good grade. Knows the material well too so if you're interested you can learn.
Very nice professor will do his best to ensure you do well in the class. What you put in you will receive in return. Test heavy but tests aren't hard, he drops your worst of the 4. Lets you make up missed work if you have a proper reason. Knowledgeable guy who will take time to explain things to you. Can be slighly monotonous, take morning class.
Prof. Georges is great. Attendance isn't mandatory and he offers Zoom during every class. You can drop your lowest midterm and do homework as many times as you want. Tests are challenging if you don't read the textbook, and lectures can get a little boring, but overall a great class.
Professor Georges was great, attendance isn't mandatory and all of the lectures are recorded and posted. Tests are online but in person, they aren't super easy but are very textbook based. Professor Georges is genuinely so nice and cares a lot.
ECON 5105. Not recommended if you have not been exposed to the math topics (linear, calc3, stats.) You will be overwhelmed. does a great job attempting to condense the info for a 1 sem course, but it's best taken only if you are STRONGLY considering Econ grad school. weekly HW, no exams. Took half remotely, half in person - dry lectures but fine.
Frank is so nice and so accommodating- of course, do not take advantage of his kindness. He genuinely wants students to succeed and is accessible outside of class. I love him and would 100% take again.
I thought Professor Georges was a good teacher for econ. The slide shows he used were good and easy to follow with minimal text. The only thing I wish is he did was use the whiteboard to draw out graphs to help visualize concepts as I feel that's important in a course like econ. Other than that, he was a great guy and super nice.
literally an angel
Great guy, and a great teacher. Knows what he's talking about, and explains well. The only problem is showing up to class, which few do after the first week. If you show up to class you'll do well, if you don't, you can still do well. Micro is a subject that will help you in the real world too. Not too much hw, you'll be good.
Rather boring lectures, but super nice guy and easy grader. Attendance does not matter at all and slides are always posted for students to review. Final exam was open note and weekly homeworks were easy. As long as you complete weekly assignments, you will get an A.
Lectures are super boring and monotone. Attendance not mandatory, barely anyone shows up after the first 2 weeks. Just do all the homework quizzes on pearson and youll be fine. He has 2 midterms and 1 final. All are online on canvas but u need to be in class for them. this class is mostly self learning.if u want an easy A/B grade then I'd say take
Prof Georges is a nice guy, but public choice econ is the biggest waste of time ever. Can't believe I spent $8k of my money on this BS of a course. I'm sure the prof even agrees at how dumb this content is, all you do is learn about different methods by which election winners are chosen. And trust me, there's a lot, so you can read the book forever
Not many people came to lecture because he posted the slides and most of the content was learned virtually.
If u genuinely want to learn then i would not recommend this class. lectures are super boring and monotone. but homework and assignments are easy. its an easy A. tests and quizes are online but in class. he doesnt care about attendance i barely went. super understanding professor and reachable outside class. If u want a GPA boast take this class
would take professor georges again for any economics class. he genuinely cares about his students and gives such great feedback. exams are exactly like practice problems so put in the work and you'll definitely get an A!
This class is really easy. All the test questions are just like the homework questions. He allows you to attend class through zoom and take exams through zoom; just need to have your camera on. He was good at explaining everything and answers emails very quick.
This guy is a good teacher overall. Cares for you even though theres 200 people in the class. However, he assigns an unbelievable amount of homework. Each assignment can average around 60 questions each, with the biggest one being 97 problems and my most recent one being 86. These problems are also not all one and done problems, they have parts.
Frank was great. Lectures can be boring but he explains everything clearly. Lectures are recorded on zoom so you can watch them whenever you want. Tests are pretty easy too.
He's very knowledgeable about Micro, but his lectures are not engaging. He assigns 60-100 questions per homework, with multiple parts per question. It's usually unclear what will be covered in each test since he starts new sections before we've been tested on the previous section. He's very kind and replies quickly through email outside of class.
Teacher clearly cares, but is a little bit boring with his lectures. Good guy, easy class. The homework is abysmal though; Not hard at all, but so time consuming because it's always like 102 questions of busy work.
Professor Georges was great. Only about 5% of the students went to class but I think he had some interesting things to say. The class has a lot of busy homework but you get unlimited attempts on homework. Just show up to class pay attention and you will barely need to read the textbook.
Hes a great prof. Cares about his students and if you do the bare minimum really easy to get an A. Take him for microeconomics!!!!
Such a kind teacher who does everything in his power to help you suceed in his class! He gives multiple opportunites for you to do well, and his office hours are very helpful. Highly reccomend this professor if you are taking a basic econ class. He is so knowledgable, and he genuinely wants his students to learn.
Professor Georges is very laid back- but his classes did not really relate to the exams at all and I found the exams quite difficult. Cheating is very abundant in this class as well meaning there was never a curve. Due to the very lenient grading policies getting is good grade is still achievable but the class was very frustrating overall.
Super nice professor but the lectures weren't very engaging, but you could tell he knows what he is talking about and wants to help you succeed. A lot of textbook homework that takes a big part of final grade and remember to do your discussion board posts cause it is for a grade. Easy class and great prof.
Good lectures and easy class format. The homework sometimes took a while, but it wasn't bad if you broke it up over the week. I learned a decent amount without really trying.
Professor Georges deserves all of the good feedback that he's getting. He really is a good professor who is very accessible outside of class hours if you're stuck on a subject. While his lectures were a little dry (had him at 8 AM), his homeworks and tests were fairly straight forward and easy.
He cares about what he does, but often his lectures are just simply boring. He records them and posts them so you can skip class and watch the recording on 2x. His exams on on canvas not locked, however in person. Its an easy A if you try even a little bit.
Professor Georges is a very smart man and he also provides valuable knowledge. A true treasure to Northeastern. His work requires lots of time and sitting behind a screen. I recommend him as a teacher.
bros the goat he emailed me saying I forgot to do some assignments and then extended the deadline just talk to bro a little bit and you'll be fine. my g
If you want to be behind a computer for hours working on economics this is the class for you!
Took him in the fall he mad chill. Homework can be long but you have unlimited attempts. Tests aren't hard if you study for them. Also, if you want to listen to the lectures but not walk to class you can join his zoom.
Very chill. You don't have to go to class and the exams are pretty easy if you do the homework. Only downside is that the HW for the week is like 100 questions with multiple parts so that bit is annoying, but very doable.
Great teacher. I went to class and actually learned a lot even though it was very easy. Long lectures but he can be funny at times and it isnt a bad place to go and even do other work. Exams are easy. Homework takes forever but as long as you start on them early and don't leave it til last minute you're fine
Frank is a very chill guy, but his lectures are boring. Luckily, you don't have to go. All tests are online including the final. He is very accessible outside of class.
Super easy class, lectures aren't mandatory and are always recorded on zoom. Tests are two parts, half online half in person which makes it super easy to perform well. He's passionate about what he teaches, but it's tough to stay engaged during the lectures. Can pretty much review the slides, do the homework, and then do well on the tests.
easiest professor ever. class is optional and has a zoom meeting during the class so you can just listen from home, and records every zoom and uploads it to canvas so every lecture is accessible whenever. tests are on canvas with no lockdown browser so they're basically open note. there's a lot of busywork for homework but the class is an easy A.
such a chill class, very easy to get an A if you put in work. Alot of homework, but you can repeat until you are satisfied with the grade. Would definitely recommend! only 4 tests.
Nice guy and the class itself isn't too hard, his scheduling is crammed and makes the class more annoying and adds unnecessary difficulty. For example: most exams are two parts in person and take home, but he would frequently have a homework due Mon, an exam on Wed/Thur, another hw due Fri, and then the take home due Sunday.
Frank is literally the goat. Such a chill and easy class. Highly recommend. Very easy A. It is easy not to listen to him during his lectures tho as they are a bit boring.
Professor Georges really cares about his students and wants the best for them. He was always available outside of class for help and he was very lenient with deadlines. Bless this man, I really learned a lot about Economics from him and although I rarely went to class as long as you keep up with the textbook and homework, it should be easy!
he's a sweet guy. lectures are boring, way too dense & so much fluff. however, he records & zooms lectures and tests are 1/2 in person, 1/2 at home. easy A.
He's such a king
An amazing professor. You never have to come to class for lectures, but the exams are always in class with a shorter take-home portion. Once a week we are assigned a lot of homework with a lot of questions, many multi-part. It is still manageable, just start early and do a few problems a day. The class is pretty easy, I would recommend.
I was in a class with 200+ students so I would recommend going to office hours if you need assistance. My TA with recitation did not know a lot and did not help me once so I attended office hours and Professor Georges assisted very well. I would take him again however the lectures are boring because he just reads right off the slides.
Very nice and caring professor. Attendance is not mandatory and he records the lectures live on Zoom and puts the recordings on Canvas, so the class can basically be taken without ever stepping foot into a lecture. However, tests are in-person so make sure you go to those
His lectures are optional and his zooms every lecture, but I tried attending most of his lectures. He tries to make lectures fun by adding jokes but it is still pretty dry. But I feel like he explains the concept well. He gives a lot of homework assignments. His tests are like the HW but harder.
