Francis is one of the best instructors I've ever had. He is extremely passionate and cares SO MUCH about how his students are doing. This course could easily be super dry and horrible but he teaches in a way that makes it interesting - plus he throws in weird little stories to keep you entertained. I always enjoyed going to his class.

Francis is one of the most passionate teacher's I've met in a long time. He is a new teacher and still learning, but with his sincere passion and helpfulness he made it easy for students to learn as long as you put in the effort. The most willing out of any teachers I've had to give you extra help after class. Highly recommend.

First of all, I hate Econ. But, Francis is great! He is brand new to Camosun and took student feedback EXTREMELY WELL!!!! Our first midterm went terribly, but after everyone's feedback he completely edited how he taught and it was excellent! He is always open to feedback! He taught masters students so he knows his stuff!

I'm currently only halfway through this class and I'm loving it! Francis really knows his stuff and continuously asks whether his students are following what he's saying. Just wrote my first midterm and there were no surprises. I really enjoy his class and highly recommend this prof!

Just completed this class. With strong math skills this course is an easy A. He's constantly checking in to ensure the material is understood. He's funny, easy going, intelligent, helpful, thorough, kinda cute. I don't see how people can complain about him in any way. If you do poorly in his class you may want to address your study skills/effort.

Francis is a great prof., not sure why he gets low ratings. His enthusiasm for teaching and goofiness can deter some students, but in the long run it makes for a more enjoyable class. Get over the, "This is lame," attitude and you'll love his econ teaching. Explains things clearly, lectures are synced well w the textbook, & discussions encouraged.

Francis is a very helpful teacher who really cares about his students well-being. He gives up his spare time to answer any questions that a student might have. He makes sure everybody is following his lessons and he makes a dull subject more fun. He also is a very fair marker and I would recommend him as a teacher to anybody!!

Just finished this course with Francis, he was an awesome teacher. He is always prepared for class and the lecture and cares about all his students and their learning. Explains the work very well, I recommend Francis to all taking first year Economic courses.

Francis was a fun teacher who interacted with his students and tried to get to know them. He was always available to help, even outside of his office hours. I hope to have him for future classes.

He was a good prof. FIN 110 is not too difficult, but if you don't understand, you could ask him for help.

ECON tests of Francis was hard. However, he was very helpful and tried to teach us until we understand.

Everything I've learned throughout the semester stuck to my head.. surprisingly. Francis will go out of his way to meet with you if you need help. I was not able to attend his office hours because I had class during those times, but he was willing to come to school hours earlier to help. Would definitely love to take classes with Francis again. :)

Excellent teacher. I would take any class with him that I could! Its rare to find a teacher who actually cares about his/her students, he really goes out of his way to ensure everyone understands. He is tough, and he tends to call people out in class but it actually helps keep everyone engaged. Attendance is crucial and I recommend office hours!

The only negatives you'll have of Francis will be either A) the course content B) His mannerisms and abrasiveness He values class interaction and participation, and if you need help and ask he'll find time for you. He tries to make class interesting and caters to his students' needs. He's a young prof, but teaching is clearly one of his talents

He tries to explain as clear as possible. He tries to make students understand. There are weekly online quizzes. exams are pretty long. He cares about his students. Long lectures, lots of notes, must attend class everyday! He puts notes on d2l, but he adds a lot more to it while explaining.

Francis was clear and helpful throughout the course. The course material was fairly easy to understand. Took FIN210 and can say that I remembered the concepts well from this course. Would recommend Francis for anyone taking FIN110.

Francis was there for help during office hours and class and always made sure you understood the material by walking around and asking students if they need help.

Francis is a great professor! I had him for both Econ 103 and Fin 110. Easy to learn from and has a great sense of humour. He does a good job of making sure everyone understands before moving on.

Francis is THE BEST. He makes sure that everyone understands the materials before moving on. If you pay attention in the class, you won't even need to touch the book. He is the first prof. I've ever had that can clearly explain the hardest stuff, and I can understand it easily. Every lecture from him is PRECIOUS!! You wouldn't want to miss it.

Does his best to make sure the concept is understood rather than just talking about it and moving on. Goes through lots of example questions in class. Goes fast but is more than willing to stop and explain things in multiple ways if anyone is lost. I never needed the textbook. Just showing up to class and doing the practice midterm was enough.

Francis is a solid choice. He has a background in Economics & knows the material for this class thoroughly. Responds quickly to emails, and is great with his office hours. He tends to move through example questions & material quickly, so ask questions promptly & he'll be happy to rephrase, explain & make sure the material is clear for everyone.

Francis is a great choice for Finance. He really has a vast knowledge of it, and cares a lot about his students. He likes to make sure that people really understand the concept before moving on. The only downside is that he is a fairly tough marker.

Francis is a great teacher. He really takes the time to make sure everyone in the class understands the subject matter before moving on. His tests are completely fair, no surprises at all. But go to class because the slides aren't that much help. If I had to the opportunity I would definitely take a class with him again - he's hilarious.

I was nervous to take this class but Francis made it so much better. He truly cares if his students do well and takes the time to make sure everyone feels comfortable with the material before proceeding. Francis is a very good instructor. The best thing was that if you attend his class, you don't need to do much study at home. His lectures are also interesting and he also provides a lots of knowledge about the real life applicaitons of finance.

Francis is a good teacher, but you need to attend class every day to understand the lecture since its too easy to not understand the concepts by reading the slides. He is good with office hours , but responds slowly to emails;even though he prefers email.

I really like Francis . I find him engaging and funny, and he is passionate about the topics. He wants you to succeed and will always take the time to answer questions to make sure you understand. Exams are a bit hard, but he warns you and just wants you to think outside the box a bit. Study and you'll do fine.

I took FIN210 online due to COVID prohibiting in-person class. His online class was laid out SO well, it was super easy to stay on track. His videos were very comprhensive and helpful. No textbook needed. Tests are really hard but STUDY! You will be ok if you put in the work. He really wants you to understand not just memorize & regurgitate.

Francis is a really good person & good to talk to about economics & investments. I had a hard time taking 100% perfect notes, but make sure you have everything written down b/c he tests on even the small stuff. He had the most positive impact on me as an accounting student and I'm so glad to have met him. He will always answer questions. Great guy.

I'm not really a math person so I found this class very challenging, however Francis is an amazing teacher and I would not have been able to get through it without his help. He is very accessible and will always answer questions. He is a tough grader but very fair. Exams are very difficult so you have to really study. Would definitely take again.

Francis is pretty relaxed with how you learn things, but you need to actually learn it. Prepare thoroughly for tests - he tests the small stuff... he also covers the topic extremely well if you pay attention. He's super responsive. One of those profs who wants to be the best prof he can be. Avoid if you want a free ride. Take if you want to learn.

He is a good Prof, always accessible and willing to help. He wants you to understand what is lectured, which is a good thing. He expects you to work for your grade,which is fair. But also he tries to find out what can be done better and he actually made a fair final. No trick questions or such, which was very much appreciated. Would take again.

Francis was amazing! Stats is not fun, but he made it better than I could have ever imagined. He truly wants his students to do well and he is always available over email, and he would meet with you if you ever had questions! One of the best profs I have ever had. He truly wants his students to understand the material. Had slides available for us before class. He very often asked for feedback to make learning better for us. Test grading is very fair (he made sure we knew what we would be tested on). Be prepared for interview exams (2). Math was easy and well explained.

Francis was fantastic! I was not looking forward to stats of any kind, and he made me realize how you can use this material in the real world. He was very supportive and would help you whenever he could. Super cool guy and I would take his class again.

Francis is a great teacher even for students who are not strong at math. He knows the content well and explains well. He anticipates students difficulties and explains those very thoroughly. Very approachable to ask questions to. Moves through lectures quickly so I recommend paying close attention. He is funny and brings his personality to class.

I took BUS 230 online. It was tough but I enjoyed his class. Francis gave us a lot of examples so if you practiced all of the given examples the test was pretty easy. I would take his class again. Thanks

MY BESTIE FRANCIS. Gosh he's a weird and friendly guy. Lot's of testing (like quizzes). I would 100% recommend redoing his practice problems in his lecture notes. If you're ever struggling, NEVER HESITATE to go ask for help. I basically went to his office hours at least once a week with tons of questions for him to solve. He's always happy to help!

His tests are difficult, but doing the homework and exercises in class, you will be prepared to do it well. And he answer all my doubts and explain my what I did wrong. If possible, I will do another course with him.

Francis is great professor. His test are quite harder because he gives lot of MCQ that are 2.5 or 3 points which means there will be no partial marks apart from this he class are great. he explains the topic well and help that you will use these topics at your workplace. I am now planning to take him for FIN220. Take him you will learn a lot.

Great teaching skills. The class is in online format and the videos are super clear and organized. All lecture videos are put online in advance and you can arrange you own schedule to watch, super flexible! But you need to be a super-discipline learner for online course to catch up the materials.

I took Econ103 Online and loved how well-organised Francis' course was. He had weekly checklists & his videos were slow(2x speed!) and very thorough. There were 2 midterm interview tests, where you got on a call with Francis and went through a problem with him. Francis is super helpful and kind and it is not intimidating at all! Great course!

Francis is one of the best professors I've had. He cares a lot about his students. He put in so much effort in this class, making sure everyone was getting good grades and learning everything we needed to learn about investing. You could tell that an instructor is great when they are open to feedback. Also, so approachable in and outside the class.

Francis puts in a lot of effort. He will teach you in intuitive ways and make lectures fun. He enjoys participation but does not demand it, understanding that not all students are the same. His lectures powerpoints are clear and easy to understand, he always makes sure students understand the material before moving on. He also has a lot of examples and exercises too so they make it even easier to understand.

Absolutely Amazing. Francis always goes above and beyond in making sure the students understand his lectures and he stays longer time to explain it. During camosun I haven't experienced such a loyal and honest teaching like him. I passed the course but to be honest I didn't put that good effort if did will definitely get B+. Love it love it.

Overall a great prof. Lectures are engaging and he knows how to explain the material in a way that is memorable. The interview exam format is intimidating at first but is very simple and an easy way to boost your grade. Wish he was a little more active on D2L and would update the course page but other than that he's been my favorite instructor.

Had him for finance and microeconomics. God he's good. Really funny, relatable and not afraid to make an ass out of himself. He has been my favourite professor at Camosun for sure. Would love to take another class with him - Wasn't a fan of econ but I wouldn't have attended class if he wasn't teaching it
