there are a few specific times i can remember that were really bad. one day we had a quiz that she wrote incorrectly on the board. obviously we didnt know what she wanted to write, and she almost failed everyone for not correcting something we didnt know was wrong.

Terrible. Cannot understand her. She confuses herself. Makes multiple errors in the notes. Gives homework before teaching anything in the homework. Blames students for bad grades when NO ONE understands what she's doing. Good idea to use Math Tutor Lab because she's certainly no help.

I have to admit she was a horrible teacher throughout the year, but I went up to her and asked for my exam to be changed to a higher score and she was surprising cool and gave me a 98%. Exams are easy. Can never understand her. A lot of the people in my class whine about everything and just complain and end up getting bad grades. Go to the tutor.

This teacher has a horrible accent she isnt helpful at all and is very hard to understand. She goes through everything way too fast in class and doesnt ever finish problems on the board. Don not take!

got used to her accent,but she tries to teach you the world in one problem. teaches exactly by the book, notes and all. have to retake this class and im a good student. pop quizzes randomly, my whole class hates her, very bad at teaching steps to the problem. calls on you to answer problems if youre not paying attention (5th grade). unreasonable!

Terrible, hard to understand. When I would ask her to clarify why she graded me so terrible she would get sassy with me. She grades on the amount of work. Took this class in high school and aced, but she was such a bad teacher I had to drop and take at UW-Fond du lac. My advisor wanted me to talk to the chair of mathematics about her even.

She is extremely hard to understand. You think that you can handle it but it gets worse over the semester. You need the book in class every day. You have to finish the homework before you are taught it. Be on time everyday and plan on going to the math lab for all your questions because she is useless to ask. Very strong accent. She tells you on the first day if you can't understand her switch. And if you can't do switch because it doesn't get easier to understand her. She goes over problems but does them wrong then right, very annoying. Do homework, random checks.

She's hard to understand. She calls you out, hoping you have the wrong answer. She gets off when her students are wrong. She isn't clear about what she is writing or even saying. She just re-writes her notes onto the board without explaining, it's like she doesn't even know what she is teaching. She doesn't even know how to foil.

Hard to understand and if you answer a question correct in class she will still say you are wrong and then give the exact answer you just said. If you are struggling in the class she will call on you randomly to see how much you really don't know the material.

Just the worst professor ever, I have a hard time with math and she really makes those who struggle feel incredibly stupid. Her answers to questions are drawn out and vague with hardly any help. Honestly she just says a bunch of things and you are expected to , hopefully, grasp onto information that is worth while. ACCENT IS THICK.

She has a very heavy accent. Most of the time, she's an ok professor. If you ask her a question, usually she won't understand what you're asking and you'll spend 10 minutes explaining yourself before someone else in the class tries to help you out so she understands. She knows what she's talking about in math, but take another professor if possible

Math has always been my strong subject and I am at a C in her class. She is extremely hard to understand, she messes up problems that she does on the board leaving you even more confused, and she will go over the easy homework problems in class but never teach the hard problems. I would never recommend this professor to anyone.

I have been reading the feedback for professor Fernandez and many complain of her accent being the reason she is ineffective. Her accent isn't the problem, her lack of clarity, willingness to show work, and doing problems incorrectly in class, on the other hand is. Even with a tutor I couldn't succeed. You'd be better off w/ another professor.

This class was probably the worst and most annoying class I have ever taken. I am good at math and I have done all the stuff before so this class was more of a review, but she still is not a good professor. Her teaching tactics are basically reading the textbook to you out loud and expecting you to know it. Take another professor if you can.

Awful teacher. She expects you to already know everything and is horrible at explaining things. When she does work on the board it's very hard to follow. If you can't learn out of the book on your own find another professor. Very heavy accent.

Avoid if you are unable to teach yourself from the book. If you like to ask questions, be prepared to visit the math lab outside of class. While she encourages questions to be asked, she makes a fool out of students , or yells at them when they do. Examples on the board never make sense, because so many mistakes are made. Don't expect much.

Do not take her! I usually am able to pick up on it easily. But this teacher is awful. She expects you to know everything, makes you feel dumb if you ask questions. You are only graded on test and only a few quizzes that are pop quizzes. She is rude. Unless you are able to teach yourself have at it! Defiantly would never recommend her.

Avoid her if given the chance. She should not be teaching this class.

Actually a nice person, but its a terrible terrible class. There is only 3 test throughout the semester so if you do bad on one your already pretty much in trouble. Definently would not take again. Beware you have been warned.

Professor Fernandez is the professor high schooler's have nightmares about while preparing for college. She has a very thick accent and a derogatory tone. She is not caring towards her students at all and if asked about something she deems simple, she will embarrass them in front of the class. Doesn't explain concepts and expects comprehension

There are two drawbacks to this professor. You can't understand what she is saying and even if you could, she doesn't know how to teach. When asked a question she will rush through an explanation and then say "easy right?" then continue without waiting for an answer. When asked to elaborate she will get angry and it explain it EXACTLY THE SAME WAY

So this teaches her method of teaching and if you use another method shell taks points off. Sometimes she doesnt make sense when shes teaching and its basic algebra. Unless you want to deal with remebering her exact method and decoding some parts of her speech choose her.

Francisca does have an accent but I don't find it that difficult to get past. She knows what she is talking about for the most part but she has a very difficult way of teaching. I spend HOURS in the tutor lab each week. Most of the students in my class have taken this class 1-2 times before and are still failing.

Do not take this professor! The math classes at UWO started using the ALEKS program and she has no idea how it works! So she assigns way too much homework within a short period of time. She is super stern, unhelpful, and honestly just rude. She also has a heavy accent so when she explains things in class, it can get confusing.

Spent more of her time discussing/worrying about the online homework stimulation than actually teaching us the lessons in class. When she finally got to the lesson, we would have 20 minutes left of class, and she would only do a limited amount of examples even though our homework was way more in depth. Basically had to teach myself all semester..

Would not take this professor or recommend her to anyone.

Probably the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. I read reviews about her and thought maybe it was the people not trying, yeah NO. When you ask questions she gets mad that you don't understand because she just explained it. She is rude and maybe gets through 3 problems a class, and expects you to understand everything bc to her it is "Easy."

Francisca has a huge accent and I cannot always understand it. She always will walk around class and say let me know if you have any questions and when I did ask her questions, she does not act very pleasant and wanting to help out. She will assign pop quizzes at random so make sure that you keep up with Aleks. Would not recommend this professor.

You need to be in class when you need to be because she will randomly assign pop quizzes based off of things that you have not learned fully yet. Her accent was confusing to understand and the way she spoke to the class would have wanted to put the class to sleep because it comes across as boring.

This professor was absolutely atrocious and the worse I have had. She does not deserve her job as a professor until she goes back to teaching school at least. Does not care much about her students and does the bare minimum that her job requires. She can work harder but does not want to so thats very disappointing.

She is the worst lecturer I have ever had. Its not so much her accent is boring but makes it very boring and does not make you grasp why math is important like a good professor should.

Spent the entire time telling us to practice, instead of ACTUALLY going over the material that we are supposed to practice. Quiz heavy and was insanely boring. Nice, and was willing to answer your questions but since she barely went over anything she gave some attitude if someone was confused.

Avoid this professor at all costs. The class is very easy, but she as a professor wasn't great. You sit and watch her write on the board, but you can barley understand her. Its like sitting and watching paint dry. Her lectures suck. AVOID HER

WORST PROFESSOR EVER my class had around 25 kids and very few ended up passing because she doesnt match the quizzes and tests to the material covered in class. SUPER THICK ACCENT you cant understand her and switches to spanish when she gets angry. no partial credit, refuses to help, and doesnt teach at all and gets mad if you ask questions AVOID

Hard to understand, not very thorough, expects you to know everything before it is fully taught. Absolutely ZERO eating/drinking in her class. Mask enforcement is strict, sometimes we need a sip of water... Handwriting is very difficult to comprehend as well. avoid!

To be honest the professor seems like a good person, but some people just arent meant to be a teacher. I was often left very confused on what was due in class and when it was due. The teacher probably spent over half of the class talking about how its important to try in the class instead of actually teaching, decent person but terrible teacher.

AWFUL. Do not take her class unless you like to sit in a classroom and then teach yourself the material afterwards. She assigns busywork, and is very strict and rude. She does not know how to teach students effectively and does not have any personality. Stay away!

She got mad at me for having a severe asthma attack, which, left me in the ER for the weekend, and was like you had to tell me before hand that you were gonna skip. Like, I'm sorry I didn't plan my asthma attacks.

if I could give her a negative star rating, I'd give her -5 stars. This teacher overcomplicates the smallest things and expects you to already know the material. You will need a tutor to pass. She is also passive-aggressive and she will treat you like a child. If you have this teacher, drop the class while you still can.
