I loved this class! Although the subject of Excel, Access, and Powerpoint do not seem too appealing, he is funny and keeps the class entertaining while teaching it. He gives extra credit during classes so make sure you go and pay attention to project instructions!
Very good professor keeps class entertained and it's easy
Really funny and entertaining, tests are easy if you come to class and study he tells you everything thats going to be on the test. The hard part of his class is the assignments. He usually doesnt explain how to do it so your left on your own to figure it out or if he does explain it...he rushes through it. Overall good professor.
He is a little overrated. His tests were not that bad if you studied quite a bit. His assignments were frustrating though and the class structure with the TA's are kinda weird but personally he is a cool guy, he is relaxed and jokes around but it can be too much sometimes.
He is a really amazing teacher. FUN, engaging, and a great lecturer. As long as you pay attention in class and study the notes, this class is an easy A! Class is not mandatory, but advised. Oh, and did I mention he's FUN!?
He is a great teacher who is passionate about his subject take good notes go to class and go to his office hours and you'll do fine
Spends too much time talking about study abroad and not enough time focusing on learning to use the systems. Professional life needs to know applications, not how many times he's been to Spain. Also, he has a negative attitude when asked for help and pushes all questions to his TAs.
worst teacher that I have had at tech so far. during class time everything is a joke and all fun and games but his tests completely screw you over. It's unfortunate he's the only one who teaches this class. He gives projects that are hard but only worth 4% of your grade so get ready to fail.
Good teacher really nice, people need to remember this is an intro class he takes it lightly in class because the material is easy. As far the projects go it access, excel, and power point basics if you pay attention in class he does the whole thing for you. If you go to class its an easy A. His test are a little harder then needed but not to bad.
This class was pretty boring. I learned more about his study abroad program than the material he was supposed to teach. He went through the slides too quickly. Because of this, tests are pretty challenging. Assignments are easy because he basically does it for you in class. However they dont count for anything compared to the tests.
this class is not an easy A at all. he is very unclear on what he's looking for on the tests, isn't very helpful, even when you go talk to him, and doesn't seem to care about anything other than his study abroad program or his video competition. the majority of people I know bombed the first test because they didn't know what to study
Talks about his study abroad program and his multicultural organization that he backs more than the subject itself. Didn't even go over what to study or teach the slides. Doesn't deserve to make $100,000 for not teaching anything at all. This class is boring and the first test is ridiculous.
I have no interest in computers AT ALL. I barely know how to work one. And everyone said the first test was supposed to be really really hard. I made a 90. Just go to class. You don't even really have to pay attention you just need to be able to add extra things he writes. And if you go to class he'll tell you some things that will be on the tests.
He is really laid back. The people who do bad and who have rated him badly are the ones who don't go to class. So they miss the extra tips and general information. His tests are challenging... but we are in college. I wouldn't want to help people who don't come either. He does talk alot, sometimes relevant, sometimes not but offeres a lot of advice
Delgadillo is an excellent professor who genuinely cares about student success. If you talk to him during office hours he is more than willing to provide help, but he will not do your assignments for you. Tests do require studying, but the material is worth knowing. You have to attend class and study if you want an A. No other way around it.
Attendance isnt mandatory, however if you want to pass it basically is. His tests are over the things he says in class about his slides, not just the information on them. He is funny, makes you work hard but a great teacher. Easy A.
go to class and make an A easy, don't go to class and make a B easy
Delgadillo is a great guy and incredibly funny. Makes class worth going to. There are numerous projects that must be done for the class, but if you go when he goes over them he will tell you STEP BY STEP how to do it. I never got anything less than a 103 on each of them. Take his class. He has a genuine interest in his students and his school.
Attend class to understand the concepts even though he posts the notes online. He tells you in class what of the notes to study for the tests. He gives step by step processes for the projects making them only 1-2hours at most. He's an amazing teacher and person. Also, the real name of the class is Intro to Information Systems in Business KNOW THIS!
He does not care about students. Every question has to done to his TA's. He is always talking about his visits to Spain instead of focusing on us
This professor treats this class like it's a big joke. He constantly talks about himself instead of focusing on the material. He doesn't give reviews for exams and about 25% of the exam questions are very vague and not direct.
Great professor overall. He speeds through the notes in class but always posts them online. If you show up to class, pay attention, and do the homework then you should get an easy A.
He likes to talk about himself a lot, however his class is pretty easy, I got a B and that was with me missing an assignment just because I didn't feel like doing it. If you attend class, he shows you step by step how to do the assignments so you can get those done no problem. Then you just have to worry about the tests, which aren't too difficult.
Really cool professor that will give you some good laughs. He definitely made the class interesting and related it to his personal experience.
A real genuine dude. EASY A just do your assignments. Excel, Access, Powerpoint, and a movie project...and +5 on each if you turn them in early. Attendance not mandatory, and you don't need the book. Tweets the test the night before. He managed to make an 8am class bearable. Deserves a higher rating.
Really funny nice guy. He can talk about himself a lot at times, but makes the stories funny. Study the notes inside and out and make sure you have a clear understand of how everything works and you should get an easyyy A.
Really cool guy! He loves sorority girls, so if you're in one, he tends to talk to you more :) Tests can be difficult, but if you study, you should be fine. I ended up with an 89 at the end of semester, but he bumped me to an A. Really enjoyed him as a professor!
Not an easy class but if you pay attention and do good on the movie project you can make an A.
He keeps class interesting! It's not exactly a blow off class but if you actually attend class he gives you pointers for his tests!
Really funny professor! Keeps class interesting
Funny and tells awesome stories. First test was hard, rest of them (including final) were easy. PP, Excel, Access projects are on tests, so know how to do them. Class material itself isn't extremely difficult, go to him or TA's for study help (same for projects). Very lenient and understanding toward students. Take him for this class.
Funny professor, always keeps class interesting. Very involved on campus! Knows many of the students names even though the class is quite large. Has three tests, and four projects. Goes through the projects with you so most of the class does well.
Mr. Delgadillo is a very funny and clear teacher. He has many VERY interesting stories that are applicable and help you grasp ideas. His test will challenge you, even though they seem to be very easy. Do your projects as soon as they're assigned. Don't procrastinate. Loved hearing his lectures. Got an A in his class, study well and pay attention.
He knows that many students don't want to take the majority of the classes they are in and he makes his interesting so you have one less class to complain about. The assignments are easy IF you show up to class. He makes the lectures interesting and the test are relatively simple. I WILL be taking another one of his classes next semester.
Delgadillo was a great professor to have. He is funny and helpful definitely feels the students struggle he is very flexible. Tests are easy if you come to class and pay attention. Day before tests he tweets out hints (which are VERY helpful). Takes awhile to get back grades.
Great professor. If you pay attention in class and don't skip, he'll pretty much give you the answers for the exams. Some assignments are difficult, but he'll help you understand. Hilarious, and he has some pretty funny stories. I should've taken advantage of the extra credit, because he gives LOADS. Ended up with a B, but I could've made an A.
Delgs is an awesome lecturer. He's very clear and makes getting an A possible with all the extra credit he hands out. Study the power points and the stories he tells in class. Attendance is not mandatory but it helps because he will tell you exactly what is on the test if you show up. Awesome professor all around, has a lot of real life experience.
He is my favorite professor on campus for sure. He is not afraid to come up and say hi if he recognizes you. He gives so much extra credit its amazing! I made a 63 my first test and 98 on the my last so the tests get easier!
He lectures off of slides that he posts. If you miss class you will have no clue what is going to be on the test because he gives extra information that is talked about in class. Test are hard and they get harder as the semester goes on.
Just go to class and it's an easy A. First test is the hardest by far so study hard! I got a 95 because I was so worried so it is definitely possible. He tweets out things you need to know before exams. Book isn't used much but it really helps if you read it, especially for assignments! He is really funny and nice. Take Delgs!
Wish he taught every course.
Who doesn't like Delgs? If you go to class and take notes, not just of the slides but *what he says* then you'll do well on the tests. Gives lots of extra credit too. He makes the class very interesting.
This class was unnecessarily hard. The lectures are what the tests are over but even then its scattered and you dont know what to study. Nothing comes from the book, but you have to buy the book to take the quiz's which are extra credit anyways. Grades take weeks to come in. I would not recommend him.
Extremely egotistical, you will learn more about delgadillo than ISQS. Because of this the tests are very hard because his lectures are all over the place. Book is not needed unless you want to take the quiz. Assignments are hard but useful except the movie assignment. I would not recommend him if there is another option.
Delgadillo is a very smart professor and does know what he is talking about. The tests seem easy if you study but once you get your grade back it is not a good reflection. I have been to every single class, always take notes, and study for the exams but somehow still cant do well on the exams. They are unnecessarily hard.
Delgadillo is an amazing networker who seems qualified to be teaching this class. However, he is so egotistical you end up learning more about his life than you do learning about the material in this course.. This is problematic because you can attend everyday of class, take notes, and still end up failing the tests. Worst prof Ive had at TxTech
I didn't mind this class. Besides the fact that he talks about himself a lot, he's not a bad professor. Tests were somewhat difficult yet still based on the notes from class or assignments. The assignments are time consuming, but hey now I know Excel and Access, which is very useful. He gives extra credit if you go to certain Rawls events too.
He's absolutely full of himself it's so annoying like we go to class to learn and not hear about your 'achievements.' The lectures hardly ever help for the tests, and the tests are graded so hard it's almost a joke. Literally do not understand why there are people who like him. So glad I'm done with delgadillo bye.
One of the best profs n the BA. Easy A.
He's really cool and assigns a few big projects with long work duration. But explains exactly how to do them in lecture. Also if you come to him with a problem he WILL help you and is very understanding that we are people too.
He makes every class interesting. You can tell that he really does know the material very well- in fact I'm fairly certain he wrote the textbook we use. He really does stress the importance of networking in his class as well as other key skills that would behoove any young professional to master. His class was tough at times but taught life skills.
Great teacher! do the extra credit and go to class and its an easy A
The tests are tough, but if you attend class, everything you need to know is in his notes. He (or his TAs) will help you with any question you have. Projects are easy if you take good notes. Buying his book is optional (I bought it and never opened it). Funny guy!!
He's a little tougher than you would expect, but he's a great professor who made a boring subject interesting. If you go to lecture, pay attention, and take good notes, you'll make an A. He says what's going to be on the test in lectures, so don't rely solely on the online powerpoints.
He is a very funny guy and will drop a lot of useful knowledge during lectures that reach beyond just the course. I feel like he really wants Tech students to succeed in life. He does however grade pretty hard and you need to make sure you study for the first exam.
Delgadillo is a pretty laid-back guy. He is very clear in his instructions and expectations for the assignments. He offers office hours and his TAs have them as well. All the help that you need to do well in this class is readily accessible to you.
Greatest teacher ever, go to class
The class isnt too bad if you go to class and take good notes. All he does is talk about himself though. He offers extra credit, but the tests are hard so you need it.
I had Delgadillo for ISQS 2340, and I wasn't interested in the class itself, but it wasn't hard to learn. There are 3 tests + a final which are all waited the same. And there are 4 assignments that you have to do over the course of the semester. None of these things are too difficult if you take notes, he gives a lot of answers away in his lectures
I found his lectures not helpful at all. I went to class and took awesome notes and paid attention soo well for the first test and ended up failing it so bad so I stopped going and just relied on the book, slides, and friends to help me study and got significantly better grades. The projects are easy because they are in the book and TAs are helpful
Delgs is a great professor who relays personal real world experience which is helpful and interesting for business majors. Overall the class is an easy A as long as you go to class and write down EVERYTHING he says, not necessarily just what is on the slides. The assignments are super easy too. TONS of extra credit opportunities
Delgadillo was by far the best professor I have ever had! His lectures are hilarious and entertaining. He even throws in a few life lessons. As long as you go to class and take really detailed notes (not just what is on the slides!!) then you will do great. He gives hints on exactly what will be on the test so just pay attention.
LOVED HIM! Delgs is a great teacher and his lectures are pretty interesting. Exams are kind of hard but he tweets out hints and things to study. The projects take time but they aren't too difficult. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you skip class you won't know how to do the projects.
You have 4 projects (Easy. Get stuck? Just ask him for help.) Slides have all the info on the tests. He does throw a lot of stories out there and some of that is on the test too, so go to class. No book needed. Study, I promise the test are easier than people say, if you try. Take notes on laptop if possible. Extra Credit available. Great Professor
Even if you do not think you will enjoy the class, you will! This professor is probably the most charismatic you will ever meet and will even make you want to go to class! This class was not easy, but a very enjoyable experience and will make it enjoyable for you to pass! I will always strongly recommend this professor as he is my favorite one .
Great professor. Go to class. Take good notes and pay attention. His class is interesting and it's definitely possible to get an A if you work for it ! Highly recommend taking his class !
Delgadillo is a great professor. If you want an easy class where you barely have to pay attention this is not the one. I got 70's on the first two test and a 84 on the second one and still got an A in the class. Come to class and take notes over the lecture and do the 4 projects he gives throughout the semester and you should be fine.
Great professor, would take this class again. Very lecture heavy, so go to class and take good notes and you will do good on the tests and projects. No book needed.
I think he might be one of the best professors I have had so far. He cares about his students and wants everyone to excel. His projects are easy 105 and you can get help on them. The exams are fairly easy. Read the book. It helps so much on the exam connecting the information to everything. It's written by him.
If you're taking this course with Delgadillo, you should be happy. Very quirky guy, cracks funny jokes and also gives interesting lectures IMO. Those who go to class, pay attention, and ask questions should have no problem. Also gives a lot of fun extra credit. First test is hard, second is challenging, third is easy, and the final is a breeze.
Take this in the summer it so much easier. Go to class and take extra notes on his slides, take super good notes for the assignments and they will be easy, TA is also super helpful so go to them to ensure a 105 on the project/assignments. Gives you a good idea of what to focus on for the tests but they do get easier as they go on so first ones hard
Very respected professor in the Rawls College of Business. His test are exactly like the power points covered in class, just be sure to take a few notes because he will add questions about big things he talks about in class but not on power points. He has a twitter and will tweet exam questions/what to study the night before so always check that.
Delgadillo is a great professor. His tests are a lot more challenging than it would seem though because he is an engineer at heart but he prepares us very well. His lectures are very good and he seems to really care about each and every student. Like any good professor, he tries to make a very boring subject humorous.
Delgadillo is the type of professor that is a great person, but horrible teacher. Don't get me wrong, he is super qualified, but 95% of his lectures were him talking about himself and his life. And when he taught, his lectures were all over the place and didn't make sense. Wouldn't recommend.
Professor Delgadillo was a good professor. Lectures are straight from the powerpoint and he also adds in real life happenings. Not a typical professor who is boring to listen to, he makes it interesting. Go to class, take good notes, and study the night before the tests and you will do fine. Tests get easier and easier. Projects are easy too.
Delgadillo is an awesome professor. If you show up to class and study the powerpoints and suggestions off of Twitter, you can get pretty easy good grades. The assignments are not hard if you take good notes from lectures. Attendance isn't mandatory but he gives information in lectures that are not on the powerpoints so attendance is important.
Minus the 4 projects, no homework. Quirky, but in a good way. First test was moderately difficult but the rest were breezy, including the final. What more do you need to know? 10/10 would recommend. Pro tip 1: Dr. Delgs loves to drop hints about tests on his twitter so definitely follow him there. 2: Print out slides, take good notes esp for HW.
Very, very easy class if you GO TO CLASS. He walks though all of the homework assignments which are not very hard on their own. He tweets out questions that will be on the exam. I personally never opened the Textbook once. His lectures are interesting. Easy A if you show up to class and follow the requirements he gives you.
Very great professor, He really cares about the students! He gives a little extra credit too so its pretty easy to make a good grade if you put in some effort.
Delgadillo teaches his own material for Intro to IT. He tells stories about different topics to help you remember things on the test. This is definitely a class you have to study for to make decent grades on the test. There are 4 projects & they suck & take 2-3 hours. I recommend going to class, but all his lecture slides are posted on B.B.
Delgadillo is one of the best professors I have had at Tech. His lectures are entertaining and I learned a lot. The tests progressively get easier and there are a few homework assignments that can be tedious. Really great guy overall.
Dr. Delgadillo has been teaching this subject for a long time so he knows what he's talking about but tries to make the lectures funny. Tests get easier by each one and take a couple hours max to study for. If you and you and you're friends help each other out each of the projects are manageable as well. Lots of EC given at the end of the semester.
Professor Delgadillo is one of my favorite professors at the Rawls. He is very caring and truly wants his students to do well. his test are really challenging at the beginning but do get easier with each test. You do have big projects that are due in two days but he goes over them in depth in class and if you take notes the projects will be easy!
Delgadillo has been my favorite professor so far at Tech. Makes class super interesting, I would recommend you go, considering most of the test information is left off of the power points he posts online. Fair warning, the first two tests are difficult. Will use a lot of information he says in class. Just pay attention and you'll be fine.
Wonderful Professor. There are a few projects but he goes over them in class. Make sure to attend class and take notes over what he says. He posts PowerPoints in Blackboard but most of the test info isn't on the PowerPoints. He makes sure the lectures are fun and interesting.
I seriously can not stand this guy. He has the most irritating accent and he is very self involved. His power points are useless and are not a helpful study tool. If he wasn't trying so hard to impress his students and made the information easier to understand, his students would do better. Hard tests, no reviews. Try to take a different professor.
Delgs is awesome, most friendly professor I have met in Rawls. Just don't be a dummy and you'll do great. BTW if you are reading this Dr. Delgadillo, I hope you avoid playing the role of Liam Neeson in "Taken Teddy" next time you are overseas. Stuffed animals can be such a pain these days.
Delgadillo is a good guy and pretty good professor. The class has 4 projects, and 4 exams (one of them being the final). Each exam gets easier as you move on, so after you take the first one, you'll know how much you need to study for them. I pulled off a B with less than average effort, so I don't think getting an A would be hard if you tried.
4 tests, 4 projects (one is powerpoint, two are excel, and one is an access database assignment). He gives you 20 points of EC if you attend a veterans day parade for the humane society - do it. It takes 45 minutes. Super funny and brilliant dude who is a blast to listen to. Tests aren't hard if you attend class and do the projects. Recommend.
Most boring teacher/professor that I have ever had in my entire life. Nothing that he says is interesting and his stories are so dry. Thinks his lectures are funny and tries to make them interesting, but unless youre and IT major its very uninteresting.
He is a great lecturer and you will do fine if you pay attention. The tests are hard if you dont go to class. There are only four assignments so they weigh a lot. If you get good grades on tests and try hard on assignments you will do great!
He's a great professor. He really tries to teach things that will be useful in real life. Go to class, take good lecture notes, study those notes and you will be fine.
He is an awesome professor. By far my favorite class i've taken. His lectures are interesting and I actually enjoyed going to class. Tests aren't hard unless you don't take notes.
Great prof who loves the school, his students, and his job. His class is not mandatory but the material u need to learn is hard, and the easiest way to learn it is to listen to Delgadillo talk. Skip class, tests and projects will be impossible. Go to class, and the tests and projects will be an EASY A. He's cool, everyone loves him. Hard material.
Delgs is known as the Goat in the Rawls Tech program. He has been involved in the school since he began his career. The class is tough if you don't go or pay attention but he offers multiple ways to help you learn the material. In the end he ares about his students a lot and it really shows as time goes on throughout the class.
Professor Delgadillo is hilarious and very caring in general. He wants his students to succeed, and as long as you put in the effort to show up and take great notes, this class is a breeze. There are horror stories about the first exam being difficult, but just learn all of the terms and you'll be just fine. Don't skip class.
Professor Delgadillo is super funny and makes lectures fun to go to. Just make sure you go to class and take good lecture notes and you will have no problem on the exams. Seriously one of the most fun professors I have ever had.
I can't really rate Dr. Delgadillo since my course was online. However, Delgadillo was very consistent in communicating what should be done and where you should be along your MS Excel Certification course . The exam is easy if you do all the 5 modules and practice tests. This course was a pass/fail course, no grade received but did obtain credit.
He was a wonderful professor. BE SURE to complete the modules to give you an idea of what you should know. HOWEVER you need to watch Mike's Office on youtube for a better understanding of what will be on the actual test. I failed the first exam but after watching his excel exam on youtube I passed.
Super into what he teaches, and there's an extra credit parade you can go to. The grade is made up of 4 tests (including the final) and 4 assignments. I recommend you take the corresponding ISQS 2140 to get certified in excel, the class will help with the certification course. His tests get easier, and he says extra in class that are on the exams.
My FAVORITE professor! He was so helpful outside of class to help me make some great academic and career choices, that I will always be grateful for! Also, a side note, he doesn't mention the book that much but literally everything he says in class (stuff people complain isn't on the powerpoints) is in the book- even how to do the projects!
This class was not particularly challenging if you took good notes and studied. Delgadillo is a very caring professor who is extremely passionate about Texas Tech. I would take his class for operations management if it was not full, he is an amazing professor once.
Easily one of the best teachers I have had. (He is the complete opposite of Mark Moore btw). The class wasn't hard because it is basic excel, & access. If you have trouble definitely use the TA because of most of the time they are not busy at all. PAY ATTENTION IN LECTURES B/C HE WILL ASK SPECIFIC QUESTIONS ON EXAMS ACCORDING TO WHAT HE HAS SAID.
This was Dr. Delgadillo's first semester teaching ISQS 3344. I took him for 2340 last semester and decided to take his class again for this one. I loved his class just like last semester, and he made exams extremely straight forward in terms of what questions to expect. There is a group presentation worth 10% of your grade, but it was a breeze.
He's a nice guy, BUT 3344 is not the class you want to take with him. The class was WAY TOO demanding. There are daily assignments during and after class. Test count for 75% of the course grade. There's also a final group project. I'm not sure about his other classes, but 3344 IS NOT the class you want to take with him!
I had Delgadillo during the covid pandemic. So my class was online. But despite online typically not being an engaging atmosphere, he did a great job at making it one. His classes are predictable. Go to lecture, be engaged, then answer some quick homework questions due next class. I would highly recommend him, great professor with great lectures.
I had his class online, but his class was still really great and I would recommend anyone take him. His lectures were easy to follow and to take notes, and he was very engaging. He is very generous with his grading and if you pay attention, go to lectures, and take notes, I'm sure you will get an A. There was a group project but I earned a 100
He makes a boring topic somewhat bearable so you should take him. Use Excel from the get go, trust me using excel will turn studying for tests from a nightmare to super easy. Group project at the end is not that hard as long as you have good communication in your group. 3 tests and easy hw due before each class.
Professor Delgadillo is one of the best professors out here! The class itself is difficult and you definitely have to work for your grade, but hes very understanding and will do anything to help his students out. We need more professors like him! Make sure to go to class and take notes though!
Great professor, assignments are lengthy and difficult but he reviews in class and responds quickly to emails. I would definitely recommend him, he teaches valuable information that will be used in business.
One of the best professors Ive ever had. Makes a class that could be considered boring and difficult fun and as easy as possible. Excellent teacher who cares about his students and wants them to succeed,
Super nice guy, but this class just sucks. There are pop quizzes in class and 4 tests including final. Tests only give you about a minute or two per question which can be bad when there is math involved. Also there is a group project and if you have less people or your group doesn't participate just expect to do it all by yourself.
I took Professor Delgadillo over the summer, and though it was fast paced, it wasn't too bad. Attend class as he gives out answers to the test, which are also open note. There were a few big assignments, though time consuming, were not difficult since he went step-by-step in class. Go to class!
It was a good class. However, it was easy to get lost. It was graded by 4 big grades. Tests are 25%. Tests are not proctored online but they are difficult. The group project is a (you know what) if you get slackers, but overall it was not too hard... except for the tests. but delgadillo was good, he never went above but he cares for the students.
Love this guy but his tests are hard but once you get past the first one you got it
He is great professor! The exams are easy, but he is a tough grader. He is super passionate about ISQS and it makes the lectures more exciting. Make sure to take notes and do the homework! Definitely take him!!!!!
Unreasonable guild lines with hard first test, and with no curve.
Idk how he has a teaching award... take someone else if possible. Goes on random tangents about Tesla all the time during class. Tells all these silly stories about himself to make himself cool. The group project in this class is much harder compared to the professors classes. Made this class very unenjoyable.
Be ready to have no clue what is going on. Took notes on the review and used them on the exams like we were permitted to do, worked out every problem, had an answer for every question and still failed the first 2 exams, bad. Exams are nothing like homework/quizzes. Homework is due at 9am and usually is assigned the day or two before then. Good luck
His tests are extremely hard which is very frustrating because the other teachers who teach this course make it much easier. Also the problems he goes over in class while they are the same concepts as the ones on the exams, the ones on the exams are formatted completely different. Nice guy but he should really make his tests easier should be easy A
His lectures are kinda all over the place and goes and random tangents about tesla. His exams are online and open note but he uses proctorio. Even though his tests are open note they're still HARD I haven't gotten an A on either exam so far. Take another professor. The group project is a 20 min presentation memorized.
Professor Delgadillo is very passionate about his teaching and tries to keep the class engaged in his lectures. The class overall is very boring with tons of pop quizzes, and is somewhat similar to a stats class. There are 3 tests that are very difficult but he gives you tons of extra credit basically for free.
I had a hard time with this course, mainly due to the deadlines of the quizzes and homeworks. But I did eventually get it. He gives you lots of extra credit opportunities that can help you pass and it did help me pass so I am very grateful for that. Overall he knows his stuff and it's a hard class but definitely passable.
Such a nice guy! He genuinely cares about his students. The first test is hard, so make sure to stay on top of everything else. He gives you most of what you need to know in the test reviews. Stay in the class until the end even if you don't have the grade you want because he adds a lot of extra credit at the end. The group project is chill.
I took this class online, and although it was time consuming at times (HW and quizzes every week), Prof. Delgadillo made it so worth it. His exams are open note, and he practically gives you the questions/answers to the exam questions in his review. This class taught me valuable skills. He LOVES Texas Tech and his students! 10/10!!
Great professor it's the CONTENT that can be hard. Many formulas that are tedious. Other professors have better grade distributions. Gives lots of extra credit at the end - will bump you up an entire letter grade. All tests/open notes use proctorio. Group project using all those formulas; project not as easy as I thought. Doable but need to study.
Professor D really cares about his students and lovessss texas tech! His lectures are so helpful and he does test reviews which really helped. He offers soooo much extra credit! the material can be kind of difficult however he helps you a lot and makes it easy to understand. Overall he is great and I would absolutely love to be in his class again!
Professor Delgadillo has been one of my favorite professors at tech! He understands that his first test is hard but he makes sure to give you extra credit. After the first test, the two are a lot easier, but you still need to put in some effort. There is an end of the year project, but it is pretty easy. Great guy!
Explains things very well, always ready and willing to help, really cares for his students....one of is not the best professor I have had at TTU.
I wouldn't recommend this professor. Though he's a nice person, his tests are extremely difficult, with few students scoring above a B. Other professors for this course have more manageable exams. If you run into issues, he's usually unaccommodating, adding unnecessary stress. For a better, less frustrating experience, take someone else.
All I want to say, this class is a joke. I am learning nothing useful. If I wanted to be a math major, or engineering major, I would've done that, because this class is basically what you will be doing. Take the other guy, I have no clue why I am doing so much math in this class. He loves Tesla and just overall he just yaps and yaps about nth.
Don't be fooled by the good reviews. This class is impossible. There is so much math, and the tests are so hard. I studied so much and still failed badly. Other professors have better structure and no math! Just take someone else.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. The tests are so hard, and I studied a bunch. Although they are open notes, they are proctored and different from the review. I had such a hard time in this class, there is just way too much math. Other professors who teach ISQS 3344 don't have any math. I had to drop this class because of how hard the tests are...
Professor D is a passionate instructor who makes a tough class manageable. The first test is challenging, but he offers ample extra credit to help. unstuck AI and the free textbook were lifesavers for studying. Attend class, engage, and you'll do well in this online course.
Professor Delgadillo is a great professor and he wants us to do well in the class. He gives you everything you need to prepare for exams, and exams are open note. Lots of extra credit opportunities, and it would be hard to fail this class.
Very difficult, lots of unexplanitory math. Unless this is the only class your taking I do not recommend.
He is a great professor, wants you to do well, and hands out lots of extra credit opportunities. There is a group project that is frustrating if you get stuck in a bad group bc of the workload. But tests and that group project take up the majority of your grade. Not an "easy" online class- it is time-consuming!
If you are looking for an easy online course, don't take this professor. It had lots of math which I heard this class has no math so idk. But overall this online class was structured as an in person class which made it really hard to keep up with and understand. I would suggest taking this class in person or online with a different professor online
He tells a lot of stories and even takes a class picture. He really cares about his students and it shows. I had it MWF and on Fridays it was an online class which was just a pre-recorded video you could do at any time. grading wise if you complete all of your regular assignments you can fail all of your tests and still pass.
THE BEST EVER!!! Class is fairly easy, just make sure you attend the lectures and pay decent attention—he is so funny and definitely makes it worth going as well. Exams are somewhat hard, but are online and he does a very good in-class review beforehand. Again, just pay attention and you will get an A!!! He is such a sweetheart!!!
Great, funny, and insightful lectures with almost exclusively online work, tests online. Very good lecturer who takes what most people would think would be a boring class and makes it interesting and engaging.
