Great professor. Gives reviews before thests and they are open book. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE BOOK!!! thats really all you have to do. COme to class and youll pick up on good extra credit points during the test. Very cute older guy. May jump from subject to subject but youll understand it. :)
wow. this guy was awesome. open book tests. very nice man.
he's super old-fashioned (granted he's old)in how he teaches. he tends to venture off topic a little, but you always gain ALOT from his sidetracks. Very nice, and his tests are uber easy(open book)... the more you actually attend the class, the more chances for extra credit points! Highly Recommended
This class was easy. He gave open book and notes tests and most of the questions were on the figures. If you had your book annotated it was usually easy. He also gives you hints on what questions he might include on the tests while he lectures so you have to go to class.
Very very nice guy. He brought us candy every time we took a test. Easy A. You don't even have to go to class... but he gives hints on what is going to be on the test so at least show up once. Tests are open note and open book. Sometimes he gives a study guide the class before. Very easy!
Just started with stellar but he's doing a good job. Granted his class is a little boring but SUPER EASY tests, SUPER EASY extra credit. And the candy is a BONUS! Open book, open notes test. Amazing. Take a class with him!
This man is genuinely nice. He's very fair and his tests are open-book, so his class is easy. You should attend his lectures though. Not only are they good, but they're a part of the test. Very cool man who's extremely passionate about astronomy. He also gives out chocolate on test days.
He's old school in the way he teaches. the guy is the coolest. Very easy class if you put at least minimal effort. He teaches the class with physics in mind, so you get alot of insight and cool info. Tests are way too easy. I reccommend him.
What a boring teacher, no pizazz in his style. Always contradicts the book and makes his test on his assumptions. Attend class, because he will purposely screw you over with questions (on the tests) not in the book to make you come to class. His extra credit questions are impossible. Take astronomy, but not with this guy!
This professor is knowledgeable on his subject. Tests are not hard if you go to class, since he gives a review sheet for every chapter. If you put in some effort it shouldn't be hard to pass his class.

Great teacher!!! His teaching methods make it easy to understand. His tests are a good representative of his lectures and his reviews.
great teacher, very nice, explains very well, easy tests, no surprises, just go to class and you will pass. all teachers should be like this. Goes on tangents, but you learn a lot from them.
My favorite teacher at FIU!!! Great lectures and very conciderate. I would LOVE to take another class with him and i would recommend him to EVERYONE.
This is the best teacher that I have ever had for any class. He does not try to trick you so that you fail in the test. He's very helpful. Really cares about his students. Great Teacher.
This professor is one of the best and easiest I've ever had. His tests are SUPER easy, even if you don't attend class ever. He gives a review the day before the test with sample questions and all the material you need to know!! He is very passionate about astronomy and loves to teach. He is old, but adorable. I HIGHLY recommend taking his class.
His class wasn't as enthralling as these people made it out to be. If you're not in the first row, you won't even hear a word because he's old and talks low. He's a nice guy though, and he tries to help everyone out, but I wouldn't reccomend any teacher that only grades you on the four exams and nothing else. It just makes it really hard to pass. =
This is a professor that truly cares for his students. Office hours any time you can make it. He is an old gentle guy, very funny, classes are very interesting, he uses a lot of visual aids. His power point presentations are interesting and funny. Makes subject look easy. Very concerns for the student to learn.
One of the easiest classes I have taken. The grade was based on only 4 exams but the exams were extremely easy and he provides reviews for them. Very nice guy who is always willing to help his students, I recommend him to everyone.
Prof. Muller was fabulous. He is very passionate about Astrionomy and makes the subject very easy. He tells you exactly what you need to know for tests and everything. There are 4 tests in the semester, and the final is not comprehensive. Overall, I highly recommend this professor.
He's a cute old man I love him!No but seriously he is very nice and he presents the material clearly , you should definetly take him if youre taking physics!
Extremely Easy Class! material might be a bit confusing at first and no curves but just reading the chapters and being conscious during class will allow you to do well!!! and he is interesting to listen to!
I loved this guy! He is so cute and funny. He's so passionate about the subject and he makes it very interesting. At times you might doze out but overall it's a great class. Some people barely ever went to class and still got a B or higher. Just pay attention and read the book and you'll be fine.
this is a very easy class with him eventhough it was extremely boring and i didnt attend half of the time. he speaks really low so its neccessary to sit up front, but other than that, take him, hes makes astronomy really easy
I only have good things to say about Muller. He's a VERY nice, helpful, and smart individual. His AST tests are mostly matching questions, so if you read the book consciously (no need to memorize -it is matching!- just understand/know it well) you will do well in tests. And if you find the subject interesting, as I do, this won't feel like studying
you don't have to go to class. just skim the textbook and make sure you go on review days. study the review papers and you'll be fine. 5 tests, drops the lowest grade.
Muller is such a cute little old man! The class is super easy. I only went a couple of times and still passed the course with an A. Just make sure you go on the review days and read through the chapters before the exam.
In class he isn't the most clear teacher. Sometimes you sit there wondering what he's talking about. But, he gives great reviews that cover everything on the test. 5 test but he drops lowest score.
Great professor. He goes off on tangents, but they are always relevant, and interesting. He loves what he does, and it's apparent in his lectures. I didn't use the book at all. He only tests on what he discusses in class.
Such a great professor! Very sweet and passionate about what he does. Class grade is based on 5-6 in class tests which are simple especially since he gives amazing review sheets before each test! I can't think of any negative things to say about Professor Muller.
if you have to take physical science definitely take it with him. hes very helpful and gives study guides. Attendance is not mandatory either, i never went to class only two classes before the test and the class after to get my test grade. There are 5 tests, he drops the lowest grade and the test is exactly what is on the study guide. take him!
This professor is a saint! He gives four tests and drops the lowests and replaces it with the hw grade. His study guides are practically the tests. You dont have to go to class, but it helps. He is a little hard to understand because he is elderly, but such a sweety!! DO TAKE!!!
This is one of the most boring classes that i have ever taken. He does drop the lowest test and gives reviews, but the tests have a weird format. The only interesting thing was the observation that they make you take with the lab.
Easy class, easy A. take him.
Wonderful professor! He made Physics 1 and 2 amazingly easy to understand. His exams are not difficult if you do all the homework, and he's always available to answer any questions. He's a professor that cares about his students. If you have to take Physics, take it with him. I barely opened my book, his lectures were enough to pass with an A.
Although physics isn't an easy class, this professor makes it simple! He is the best teacher I have had at FIU so far! Take him if you want to learn and get an A at the same time! Anyone who says he's boring or hard was obviously just LAZY! Take him! Take him! Take him!
One of the nicest and easiest teachers! Their should be more teachers like him! Take him!
He is the best. I never write reviews for the professor but honestly he does what ever he can to assist the student. Go to lecture, do the hw problems, ask questions and you will drf get an A.
I LOVE him!! He is the sweetest guy ever & he is really passionate about physics. He is always there to help and he really makes physics understandable. Show up to class, do mastering physics and you should get a good grade. I got an A-
Professor Muller is one of the nicest teachers ever! He is very helpful, physics is not easy subject but go to class,do the hw,review= A...I love him! He's so cute and old.
Extremely helpful, a great prof. and has a passion for teaching students.
He is the best PHYSICS professor ever!!! Take him, not only will you pass his class but you will understand where, why, and how physics is applied in life. Do the HW and test reviews and you will do well.
do yourself a favor and take him! he is so nice! he pretty much gives you the exam in his study guide. attendance is not mandatory although you'd want to show up a class or two before the exam. easy A!
Very nice man and helpful. Gives study guides which say is the same as the exam. He drops the lowest exam grade. Easy science class to fulfill physical science requirement or an elective.
i liked him he was so nice. his lectures we're kind of boring but the class was easy. just make sure to show up the day before the exam for the study guide
memorize the study guide and you'll be fine on the test
Attendance is not mandatory. Tests are exactly like the study guides he gives you, memorize them and you'll be fine for the test. You can tell he really loves what he's talking about.
He's SO sweet and really wants you to learn. His lectures are slightly boring but just seeing how enthusiastic he is about teaching warms your heart. Attendance isn't mandatory because really you just need to memorize the study guide he gives you the day before the exam and you'll ace the exam. Take him! He's awesome!
He is the sweetest man. His tests have become a little harder from what I've heard from other semesters, but he does give a study guide for each test and has study sessions on Saturdays to go over them. The lectures are a little boring but he really tries to engage you (though he is very old school) and he know a lot about the subject, take him!
He's a really sweet professor who knows what he's talking about. The class is really easy if you pay attention and study the exam reviews. Take him!
At the beginning of semester felt the material quite boring but proff. showed so much enthusiast in teaching that I have not missed any class anymore. He is a grandpa. Asked him questions from the book to see if he knew the material; he answered them all. Off. hrs. he will accommodate his schedule to whatever you have available so you learn.
Professor definitively cares for students. He likes teaching and gets excited when teaching. At FIU there is a review day for the tests on Sat. Bought lots of stuff for it.(pastelitos, croquetas, coffe, juice, sandwiches and more) Weird man, he spent a lot $$ for it and a lot of time also. People usually stayed after review to ask him more questions.
He's the coolest old man ever. His lectures may be boring at times but he tries really hard to make them interesting by telling stories of his youth in Cuba (lol). But he knows the subject and knows what he's talking about. He's like the Dumbledore of FIU.
Very nice man. He gives study guides the class before the test and goes over them. Tests are practically the same as the study guide although he does throw in a few random things. Attendance is not mandatory. I had this class at 3 pm and only went for the rewiews and on test day. Make sure to memorize the study guides and skim through the chapters
This professor is the best. I am really bad with Physics and he made content so easy. I took this class in the summer and it was definitely an easy A if you go to class and pay attention to his lectures. you don't even need to use the book.
Doesnt give study guides anymore! exams are much more difficult. The class average for out first exam was 64.
Nice guy, but his class is so boring! I may have attended class twice on non-test days. It is such an easy class, plus he puts his powerpoints and test reviews online. If you don't get an A, you are a moron. An hour of study before each test is all you need. 5 tests, lowest one is dropped (20% each)
Very sweet teacher who is very into the topic that he is teaching. Classes can get very boring, but sometimes he mentions specifics that will be on the test. 5 tests total and drops the lowest.
I recommend that you get the book. Read it,take notes (it's not boring)this will help you learn the material. By the time you read his powerpoints you'll know 99% of it. He may reward students who attend class by telling them some of the questions that will be on the test. 1st and 4th can be tricky but read the PP and book u'll do fine. He's great!
Best physics professor! 3 exams (no cumulative final) + Mastering Physics is your grade (25% each) I only got an A- because I got lazy and ended up with 80% on MP homework. Gives you study guides and does problems with you which guarantees you an A if you understand the problems. Offers extra credit and is generous with partial credit. Take him!
Such a nice teacher! He really loves his job. I BARELY used the textbook, you really only need to buy the mylab pass to do homework. The homework is easy, and you will do well on the (4) tests if you study the guides (which are almost the same as the tests). He also drops your lowest test grade and replaces it with your HW grade, so do all your HW!
He is the best physics professor out there! I took him for summer and he explains everything well and gives you study guides that are similar to exams so as long as you go to class and do homework and study guides you will get an A. Also, there's mastering physics online which is cake and 3 exams.
Incredibly easy. Study guide provided mimics test nearly exactly. Simple memorization. Take for an easy A, do not take if you have even the remotest of interest in academic honesty, intelligence, or astronomy. Clearly religious, lets it influence his understanding, and misunderstands the philosophy of science and passes his beliefs off as fact.
I would highly recommend taking his class. He makes his class easy for everyone to do well and be successful. Give him the proper respect and you will get that in return. Pay special attention to the grading scale and syllabus. Take good notes, ask questions, come to class, and study his study guides well. Class was at MDC. Got an A-!!!
The best teacher I have had at FIU! I do not like physic but manage to get an A in his 6 week Physics 2 without Calc. He really cares about his students and he knows how to teach the material. Exams were similar to old exams and examples from class. During our review sessions he always brought a cart with food and drinks , he goes above and beyond!
Really helps you feel comfortable with the material. Do the homework and review packets and you will be good to go! I would have never imagined it would be so easy to get an A in physics. He holds review sessions and is very willing to help. I would definitely recommend.
LOVE HIM ! THE BEST RECOMMEND
All I can say is he's great, like take him I have zero complaints. Exams are simple and related to the exam review he gives the class before. He makes physics fun
He is the best professor I've had at FIU. Tests are consistent with his teaching and homework he doesn't try to trick you and genuinely wants you to understand. Super helpful and friendly in office hours and just an all around great person!
4 Test & 1 final. Extra credit in each test and he does mini reviews. Wont try to trick you, tests based on homework and class examples. Homework is online & also has extra credit (sometimes gives freebies or clues in class). Hes so smart and so sweet. Very approachable and inspirational! His lectures are amazing. I would take him again if I could!
Great professor! He really cares about his students and explains concepts very well. He made physics interesting for me. I did horribly in physics 1 due to lack of interest, but he made the class and topics interesting made me want to learn more!
He's a very sweet person and a great professor! He explains the concepts well and really just wants you to learn -- what he teaches is what will be in the homework and the exams. He may try to challenge you in some test questions but NEVER tries to trick you. You should still attend lectures and do the HW -- great practice. I really recommend him!
He is so concerned about the student's performance. He does not trick you in exams and his formula sheets are very helpful. He really is interested in you getting to understand physics.
Muller left midway of the semester. We were replaced with a sub and everyone average in the class. Muller is no longer teaching the course. I worked really hard in his class and was doing average. You have to study two weeks in advance to pass his exams. He changed in his exams format for the course.
I just found out what my grade was and I was so shocked to find out. His final exam was incredibly tough but I thought the department would curve everyone's grade. That was no the case. Beware of this professor! Exams have been completely modified due to department changes
Amazing professor. Provides formula sheets, which are properly labeled and split into the "chapters", for every exam. Weekly homework through MasteringPhysics. I did the homeworks, went to class , and ended up with an easy A. I didn't even study for the final exam; his formula sheets are THAT GOOD.
Take Gertsman! Your grade will be affected so much by this class. All the exams have been modified.
He changed all his exams. The department made his exams harder. Don't take this course with other difficult classes.
Took this course last semester, Hw is valued at 25% and 3 exams! Exams were difficult. Takes off points for the smallest mistakes. Exams consisted of few multiple choice problems and primarily solving problems. Department Exams are much harder then past exams. Focus on all kinds of book problems. Don't take course with other difficult classes.
A lot of friends who are in the Summer 2017 course are freaking out about the exams, but the summer term isn't ideal to be taking physics 2. I got a B in his course. I dropped two of my classes because of the difficulty and the exams are different so don't expect him to give you an A. The average for the first exam was a 66%. No curve!
His class is easy if you actually go and do the homework. His exams come from the homework and questions he does in class so I dont understand people who say his exams are hard, just review that. He even gives a review before the exams. He's nice and caring and is not rude when you ask dumb questions too. 3 exams and homework. TAKE HIM ASAP
I dropped the course and scored a 52% and so did many students. You have to study everyday because he covers so much in a day. Take his course in the fall term if you can! Tough exams. Go to office hours!
Physics 2 is not easy but he explains incredibly and gives you a review, which is similar to the style of the exam but it is not exactly the exam, which is why people complain. He gives you a formula sheet where you have to know which ones to use. The exams are long , with a lot of calculations, but I have learned so much from him.
Great teacher. Show up to each class with a pen and pencil and you will 100% pass. His class is based on 4 quizzes mostly and then homework. He gives study guides that have 80% of what the test are going to be like. If you review, show up to class, you will be fine. He gives a lot of hints of questions that are going to be in the exams.
Has power points for all his topics, didn't refer much to the textbook because he shares his own knowledge, but textbook purchase is required when completing the homework
Tough Grader. Studied a lot for exams and did not do well. Dropped the class. Don't take class if you have any other difficult courses. Exams are very difficult.
Notes and test reviews are all online. He makes lectures interesting ( sometimes off topic but interesting), and he makes funny jokes every now and then. Caring old man, very respected and intelligent. I enjoyed his class and found lectures to be important along with notes during class. I highly recommend him.
Professor Muller is a great guy, he knows a lot about physics and astronomy. Sad that more than 80% of the class didn't come to lectures and everyone only came for the exams. I got a C on one exam, and going to his office hours really helped me in bringing up my GPA for the class. He is a cool guy and down-to-earth but many students weren't.
Prof is really nice, sweet, and caring. However, if you're looking for an easy A, this is not the class for you. There are 4 exams, and they require a lot of studying. There's also weekly homework, but it's not usually very long and is definitely easy.
His lectures were boring but hes a good guy. Just study before the tests and you're good.
Completely changed his exams and plenty of people failed because of this. Don't take with other courses because this class consumes plenty of time.
Professor Muller changed his physics course due to the department and due to that the course has become much tougher I recommend you dont take this course unless youre truly studying several hours a day from the textbook
You must attend class. I received a B- but had to attend every single class in order to do so. Not an easy course Professor Muller is very kind but his exams are extremely tough and he's a harsh grader and really harps on little things. I recommend you take with professor Rodriguez he tells you which questions will be on exam.
About 4/5 tests per semester that determine your grade but don't be scared by this. He gives a lengthy study guide with basically everything you need to know for the test. On top of that when hes lecturing on the powerpoint he points out what will be on the test.
Muller's grading scale is ridiculous but it's easy enough to pass the class if you put in the effort. 4 tests are 84% of the grade and the homework assignments are 16% total. He does not drop any grades and does not provide extra credit. He does provide study guides for the exams but they do not review EVERYTHING on the exams, so go to class!
Spring 2019. Homework (online, mastering Phy) mostly found answers online. Test total of 3, they are similar to the review he gives out! Very fair with grading. Make sure you sit at the front of the class, he is an older man. Handwriting is small and voice is low. Best physics professor at FIU!
The best professor at Fiu. You can tell he really loves what he does and thats why hes so amazing at it. Hes very patient and always willing to help! The doors are open not only in class, but he has practice sections, office hours and appointments if you need to see him. Learned so much in this course, I wish I wouldve had him for physics 1!!!
Best physics professor at FIU. He definitely loves what he does. Sometimes is difficult to follow his lecture but he does reviews before each test and he is always in his office willing to help you with homework and questions. If you appreciate professors that actually lecture and do not go to class to waste their time and your time take Muller.
Do not hesitate to take his class! this professor is awesome. Physics II is by no means an easy class but he is so accessible outside of class, that if you put some effort, you will pass. He is very caring. Hands down best professor I have had at FIU.
Muller wasn't the best professor. personally for me i could barely learn because he was old and spoke low and it was difficult to understand his lectures, but one thing I will give him is that during the covid-19 pandemic, he was super caring for his students. he allowed the final test to be open notes and i respect that a lot.
A gift sent from heaven above.
The sweetest professor ever. There's a total of 3 exams and homework every week on MasteringPhysics. During COVID-19, this was the most lenient and caring professor I had and he went above and beyond to help each student even those that didn't try. During the in person lectures, he was a bit difficult to follow since he speaks low. He grades fairly
The reason why everyone loves him is because his exams are exactly like the reviews (with different numbers, of course). With that said, his class is an EASY A. However, if you're majoring in math/physics you'll hate it since you won't learn anything: his tone of voice is very low, sometimes rambles on about physics and lectures aren't informative
Easy A. Honestly, there were people that couldn't even plug in numbers to get the right answer (let alone, solve any -even easy- physics problem by themselves) and still got As, LOL. The final class grade average was a 92% (AN A-), totally undeserved. He was sweet and caring but failed to teach his students. Exams are like reviews, which he solves
This professor will prepare you for exams. He is the nicest human being ever. Go to his office hours because he will not explain anything by email. Don't be lazy and you're good.
He is one of the most caring prof ive ever had. His exams are exactly his review questions. Pearson Mastering HW due every week. He also provides the formula sheets that he gives in class on his exams. As long as you go to class the week of the exam for the exam review you will pass with an A.
Very nice professor. Grade based on hw and 3 tests. If you do the hw you pass the class with an A, you wont even have to try. Lectures are boring but he reviews the hw during class which makes the hw easier. Uses MasteringPhysics for all assignments
I wish all science professors were like him. You do not have to attend lectures but just try to because he gets sad when he sees a few students :( weekly online homework (nothing crazy and answers are online for free). He does not use honor lock or lockdown browser. He only makes you put your camera on zoom. Test are exact questions from the hmwk.
I had him as a substitute and the passion he has for physics was so apparent. He was super caring and I could automatically tell hes a great teacher. I wish I had him this semester, youd be lucky to have him as your physics prof.
I love prof muller. Test were on mastering physics based off of hw questions. Class consists of hw and 3 test. Take him you wont regret
Prof Muller is awesome! If you do the mastering physics assignments, you will pass the class with an A. Hes extremely caring and organized. His lectures are very easy to follow and hes just the sweetest guy. Definitely recommend taking his class if youre premed or just want a physics class that is very doable. Overall, 10/10!
Professor Muller is extremely understanding and caring. Easily accessible. Homework doesnt contain a crazy amount of questions, it is doable.
Physics is not a easy subject but he makes it easy to understand. There were 3 exams and homework were on myphysicslab. He doesn't give to much homework but gives extra credit on some of them. Study the homework problems and exam reviews to do well in this class.
If you want to pass this class dont take him. He dont even teach and give the hardest tests ever.
he doesnt teach and many of us believe that he may have early on set dementia, he would often forget going over a problem and go over it again. he definitely should stop teaching at the ripe age of 82... his exams arent the easiest and he doesnt teach well so prepare to take his study guide and study with some friends.
one of the kindest professors ive had and does work with you if you go to office hours, but i think hed be better off being the host of a physics podcast. knows his stuff and loves physics, but his lectures have no structure and seldom writes on the board (no notes). his exams are ok if you self study and do practice exam, but he needs to retire
Prof Muller is too old to teach. It's so hard to understand his lectures because he can't even write notes on a piece of paper or the whiteboard. 84% of the grade was the exams (3 in person exams, heavily proctored) and only 16% was homework. He's a nice guy but he should've retired 20 years ago. You will be teaching yourself everything.
He is very old and you cannot understand whatever he teaches. there are 3 exams and homework. you have to teach yourself in order to pass this class. so take it if you are good at physics because he doesn't know how to teach. not being mean but you will get frustrated because it is a lot of money you are paying for this course.
Professor Muller was so nice that many took advantage of his niceness. He allowed makeups way after the scheduled date, for exams which were pushed back several times AND had material removed from them, making for extremely dilute tests. He even gave us the formulas and how to use them. Some students didn't know how to plug into formulas. Sadly!
Very caring, helps his students out a lot (more than he should arguably). His lectures are straightforward and easy to understand, and gives a lot of leeway. The material is not too difficult, very fair. His exams are also fair, not multiple choice but not too difficult
Prof. Muller really tries, however, this class was a complete mess, we did not even know our grade until the end because he doesn't use canvas, I could never hear what he was saying on the lectures, tests were postponed. But, test are super easy if you do the hw.
