Up until now, I've gotten nothing but A's in math. Now I'm struggling because she skips over important points she assumes we know and is also unclear about procedures when she teaches. Nice lady but not good at teaching Intermediate Algebra.
Horrible professor....don't take her, she is really bad...you can't even understand a word she says. If you don't want to feel dumb don't take her class

Gives hard tests but it is a hard class and it is not supposed to be easy. She will give you lots of help to pass class, has a lot of office hours.
Tought tests tough teacher. If you don't want to work hard don't take her, she makes the tests very challeging and you have to study a lot for it.
Worst math teacher ever! I sat through an entire semester wondering what the hell she was talking about. Not clear with mathematical procedures AT ALL!! Prior to her class I had an 'A' average in math! AVOID!!
Her accent takes a little getting used to but she is a very thorough and always available for help.
Horrible! Learned absolutely nothing in her class, i think i knew more at the beginning of the semester then i did after taking her class. Very confusing, skips steps, assumes that we know everything. Tests are killer-a lot of trick problems.
i love her i took algebra with her and i took precalc, and i got an A on both classes. u just have to be on top of the homework. she helps alot. and she treats her students in a nice and polite way .... love her........
She really tries to help out all her students, i took her for pre-calc and calc. Tough tests but, calc is not easy anyway.

this teacher is not very good...she'll keep teaching and teahing and doesnt care if u dont know it...she assume everyone has done everything since grade school..and testes are only of 10 problems each so you basically fail..
i disagree with what someone posted about her teaching without caring whether the students know it or not. she goes out of her way to help people when they get stuck. also, she mentions when and why she chooses to skip certain steps. obviously, these people are not happy with their grades.
Shes not the worst teacher, but I didn't like her very much. She doesn't want to explain anything that she thinks you already know. She just assumes everyone is an expert in algebra and should pick up on everything immediately. Also she goes very fast, and tests are difficult. Would not recommend he
She is definately a good teacher, what do people expect? To cover the basics right before you get to precal so your really dont know whats going on. She assumes you know because you really should. Recommemded for students who are comfortable with math. Great teacher
Very nice and helpful teacher. She gives review sheet before every test. She has to go fast with material because that is in program. If you study hard you should be ok.

She is very nice, she has a cool method. U don't have to do the homework, but if u do, she gives u extra points. Tests are hard, but she gives hands out that actually help. Math is not easy, and she tries to keep up, at the end of the semester, she rushes a lot!!! Very nice lady, though

She's the worst teacher ever. She knows her material, but she doesnt know how to explain it to the class. She teaches straight from the book. Take this class online and teach yourself, because your not going to learn anything from her. If you dont know the material before, you wont be able to follow along.

Since she is not a native speaker, it might be hard to understand what she explains, however, if you see how she solves the problme on the board, there won't be any problem. There are four tests, she drops one of the lowest grade. If you do the homework, tests won't be difficult 'cause her tests are half from the homework.

Would not recommend her. She tries to cover the maerial extremly fast. Tests are hard. I'm very good in math, I understant everything, but tests have to be perfect. One tiny mistake-points off.The only good thing about her, is that when you go to her during office hours, ahe explains pretty good, and tries to help you out,but in class she is bad

shes a tough teacher. she tries her best to help but it doesnt seem to work. very thick accent but does well nontheless. tests are hard. if you pay attention and do the practice problems you should do fine. the final is departmental and easier than you might think at the end. homework helps your grade and so does her extra credit so do them.
She is a very dedicated teacher and knows what she is talking about. I didnt pass the class last semester because i didnt give it my all but she is very easy if you do your work. Her english isnt bad at all people say that because they choose not to listen to her.

only one thing to say,,,,not so easy...but acheivable....very possible to get a B....tests are hard but listen if you get the idea that she thinks your not working hard or she doesnt like u dint wait until its too late...visit her office hours and its amazing how much ur grade changes.....the tests hard but she does drop the lowest grade.

she is really unhelpfull.even though i had a talent of math,did all the homework problems,attend the class did extra credit work she gave me C+. if you want to keep your gpa up do not ever take her for your own good.
Not too great teaching. I've been really great at math all my life, but with her, it's extremely difficult. Material is taught extremely fast and tests are real hard, and her theories end up being confusing. If you take her, make sure that's your only class in the semester.

This is def one of the worst math teachers in the school. the semester before i got an 4.0 in mat 035 but just the way she teaches and how fast she goes makes it all hard. and just the way she teaches makes it so boring everyone in my class was fallin asleep i had to drop it. dont take her unless ur a genious in algebra
I thought that this was one of the best math teachers that I have ever had. She has a lot of office hours and extra help sessions, and if she notices you are trying hard she goes way out of her way to help you out. Do the homework, go to the office hours, and you will get an A. She is also very clear about what will be on tests. Great Teacher!!
knows her stuff but is demeaning. assign alot of HW, which is overwhelming, but it helps you understand. honestly, i did not like her teaching style. reminds me of a middle school math class. we are adults and would be nice if we were treated as such. another example of why the math dept is failing.

Hard to understand(due to accent). Goes fast, homework is understandable but mandatory homework should not be required. Tests are never finished bc of time limit.
She does expect you to do the work and be at the appropriate level for the class, but she is extremely helpful and nice if she sees that you are putting the effort in. Great teacher.
Math always came easy to me, but this class wasn't as easy.First,it was a FINITE class, which in itself was kind of hard, but prob. the ONLY math class that is actually helpful.Tough german accent,but u get used 2 it. Kinda critical at 1st,but once 1/2 the class dropped she was alot nicer lol.Use her office hours!Not that hard if u study n do HW.
You definitely have to do the homework for this class, but if you do you shouldn't have any problem doing well. Her tests are fair, she does lots of examples. I thought she was the best math teacher I've had.
Definitely recommended! she teaches in a way you can never forget, also she forces you to do homework, so i didnt even have to study for the test. Since this is a collage course, she expects you to know some of the rules about the subject which is understandable. Extra help is always there for you...
SHE IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND, SKIPS AROUND IN THE CHAPTERS. FIRST TEST OUT OF ABOUT 35 ONLY 3 PASS WITH A 'D' THE REST FAILED. NOW HALF THE CLASS DROPPED. SECOND TEST STILL NOT THAT MANY PASSED.
this is the worset teacher you can have.im not sure about the other lower levels in math how she teaches.in calc she knows her material she goes really fast and doesnt explain anything to you.she give you this attitude and if she doesnt like you,she wont help you at all.Dont take her..if you want to pass take watkins.
Hey she is so good but she is so hard too you have to do alot of work in her class and youhave to hand in the HW. everyweek in the journal so basically class was pretty easy and the final exam was easy too
I took this online and it was hard as you basically have to teach yourself. She was great though and very accomodating. She would stay online late with you in the chat room and help you with whatever you needed. I enjoyed her class, and did the work and got an A. The class was hard at times, but it is college and she is a very fair teacher.

She is the WORST teacher! She gets angry at you if you ask a question, then says she doesnt have time and continues teaching. She skips steps, doesnt explain anything. In one week, (the last week to drop a class) 19 out of 26 people dropped the class. EVERYONE FAILED EXCEPT FOR 1 PERSON!! If you take her, you will fail! She is horrible.

i learned nothing.failed class although attended all. waisted money wasted time.she had attitude problems, does not help, cant speak in english.only mat teacher who tries to lecture mat from the pp slides without writing anything on the bord. absulutely dissapointed. i dont understand wyh is she still teaching at BCC They cant find anyone better???
Absolutely, positively one of the worst teachers you can ever have. I had swine flu the previous semester and had to drop because of absences, but by god, if she's your teacher, switch classes or run for the hills. Angry, condescending, and awful at actually teaching. I love math and am excellent at it, but with her at the helm, I was failing.
do not take her at all. she makes great math students lose interest in calculus and also make god math students feel very dumb in math. take my word for it. she wasted my money for not teaching correctly at all. worst professor ever!!!

I've taken her for algebra, precalc and calc. She was the best math teacher i've ever had. although she provides alot of homework and you must do the journals, she is very straight foward and shows how to solve problems by examples, follow her examples and you will pass the tests. and do homework journals! they are 10% !
she is an excellent professor and teaches by using examples. follow examples and you will pass the test. make sure you attend all classes because if you dont you will miss alot and that will cause to fail, not the teacher!!! DO your homework journals!! and she is always available for extra help!! she is very accomodating. enjoyed her class!
Worst professor I have ever had. She will not explain anything in class and says that it should be a review and leaves it at that. She grades the homeworks and the tests are nothing like what we do for homework. Her English is not that good to understand. Expect to learn nothing!!!

This rating is for a 3/4 semester review; she's a good prof. Attend all of her classes, DO THE HOMEWORK PROBLEMS. not just the one's she assigns, but the practice problems as well; she gets her test questions from those. Never be afraid to ask for help or goto the tutoring center. If you fail, it's your fault.

I have taught myself this class. Yes it is an online class, but the professor is nowhere to be found. She hasn't responded to any of my emails in 3 weeks now and the ones she did answer she was condesending. Do yourself a favor and skip this professor, Im really not sure how she has kept her job.
She is very condescending. Expects you to know everything from Pre-Calc - will put you down if you forget. She curved by at least 10 points for every test and dropped the worst one for our class. But even then, I counted only about 10 people from the original 25 or so. Her English should be the least of your worries - it's not that bad.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR. She puts you down, and expects you to know everything from pre-calc when she teaches "new-material".
i have been in bergen for 3 yrs. and I have taken the lowest math class from bergen to calculus. She is very hard. Why? Firstly, he accent. I would like to understand what ur saying atleast. You also need to understand that calculus is different from precal. Its different material. I just wish she was more approachable.
I am a 3.5GPA+ student. This professor is the most strict grader and requires the most work out of any class I have taken at BCC. I also received the lowest grade ever in her class. Avoid her if possible, just my recommendation.
i took her class and didnt do well she is hard to understand and honestly doesnt care if you dont really understand her or the work. she assumes that everyone knows everything and when you ask a question she laughs and says you should know that. Halfway through the semester half of the class dropped out!!!

Excellent. Responsive. Straight-forward. Follows the syllabus. She uploads her lecture notes to Moodle almost immediately. Problem solving in class. Straight-forward exams. Responds quickly to emails. Very helpful during office hours. A+! (Prep for the lecture-READ the section. Then practice. A lot. Get help with problems you don't understand.)
Excellent professor! I really do not understand poor feedback from a lot of students. If you do your homework and attend the class you will do well. She is extremely helpful and clear. The notes from the classes are everything you need to pass tests. I would definitely recommend her!
Excellent for Calc I
I took her course without looking up her rating/comments. BIG MISTAKE. I believe she is qualified to teach higher level math courses, but her teaching methods are too complex and complicated. She spends most of the class making judgmental and condescending remarks when its obvious everyone is lost. Strictest grader I've ever had. Good luck
This professor is a great mathematicians, but her teaching skills are poor. She has no use for classroom boards. There's no much time to go over things in class. There's very little exercising done in class. Homework is hefty & long. She posts class notes online, but her handwriting is dreadful. Tests are hard & long; she is a very tough grader.
I had such a hard time understanding her she is from another country and i don't understand math as is, and she just made it so much worse i ended up dropping the course
Instead of explaining chapters, she just had us read on our own. The homework and tests (taken in person) were much harder than what we learned. I asked her to email me for help and she didn't. This class is so hard, if you have to take it then look for a good teacher.
Not the best teacher to be teaching calc 1. Although she grades fast, which is about the only positive thing. She picks on students if you ask "stupid questions" and yells a lot. If you are taking for calc 1, find a different professor.
Don't let these reviews deter you from this Professor. She's brilliant, and she'll provide everything you need to pass. Asking questions is key to succeeding here, and you'll find that her funny, understanding, and charismatic personality makes easy to talk to. Don't worry about taking the best notes- understanding the material is more important!
Does not give partial credit at all. If you don't do the problems her way, she takes points off. She's not thorough enough with the material that she teaches. Really really tough grader. Would not take again.

She is cool. She likes to make practice in groups. She left homework every week or two. The exams are normal. You don't need to buy the book, but you'll need it for homework and to practice for the exams (study guide problems).
She is cool. Sometimes it is hard to understand her accent, bc she is British. But she always recommend practice, practice and practice. That's why she left homework every week or 2, nothing crazy. She loves make groups to practice in class. The exams are normal if you study and nothing out of the space. You will need the TB for HW and practice.
Avoid. Do not take this professor if you want an A or B. This is the worst professor I've ever taken at BCC. She's a very tough grader, will take out 2 to 3 points if you don't do it her way. Although she's available for help, she's not very good at explaining. Very smart, but bad professor. No curves, no extra credit. 20/30 students dropped
Very fair, cares about her students. Tough grader but pushes you to your potential. Gives opportunities for extra credit.
She is very smart at math but she is tough. She will bash on the class if you don't know the correct answer. Her exams are difficult. Homework is OUTRAGEOUS. I honestly did not learn anything from her so avoid her at all costs. She is very sarcastic but she does have some humor but thats not the point. Save your GPA and stick with someone else.
This professor is hands down terrible. Even though she knows her stuff, the way she teaches in lecture is absolutely ridiculous. She makes you turn in journals every week and she complains about doing homework problems on the board even though she makes you tell her which problems you struggled with. Her tests are really hard.
If you can, avoid taking this professor. She doesn't explain the material clearly, and gets angry when her students don't understand. She makes a ton of mistakes during lecture and can be very condescending at times. The amount of homework she gives is absurd. She only gives 3 tests, which are very hard, and takes many points off for small mistakes
She knows her stuff and allows you to make corrections after the test to get credit back. If you show that you are putting in work then she will like you better. She gives a lot of homework but doing it makes the tests so much easier.
this is the best math professor so far. she gives graded hw every week and appreciates students who do the recommended hw. doesn't like dump questions tho I find her very impatient with most of the students. but if you're a good student don't hesitate you'll do great
She's basically a textbook, however you have to study and practice.
She is a very tough grader and makes you work over time for your desired grade. The workload is a lot if you want to do well. She makes it hard for students to ask questions, constantly belittling them for not knowing what she knows... wouldn't take her class again even if I got paid.
