Not very clear with what he wants, exams are too long for the time duration he gives. He will expect you to know minute details but will just skim through most of the material. He is extremely subjective and will make it very difficult even if you are a good student, I have studied extremely diligently and am not passing. I usually get A's :(

Don't say you weren't warned. The worst professor in the department. DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HIS STUDENTS. IF YOU COMPLAIN HE WILL FAIL YOU.

He is the reason I would never recommend students to major in philosophy. My condolences to all the victims who will make the mistake of taking him. I wish I would have taken another professor instead but the philosophy department does not offer many classes and I got stuck having to take him. If this happens to you, just wait another semester.

A couple of my friends and i took his class as an elective thinking that it would be fun. This professor proved us all wrong. He is a super tough grader and is hard to understand because he has a heavy accent and he goes off tangents about unrelated things. Avoid him, period.

This professor rambles on and on about his childhood and gives hw & tests that brings down your grade. He has no care that you have other classes and a life outside of his class. He piles on hw and gives hard ass tests.

Save yourself. Professor Franco does not teach. He expects his students to teach themselves. This makes me regret why I am enrolled in the course at all, as I am literally struggling. and have had to go to tutoring.

Professor Franko was one of the worst professors I've ever had at CSUN. He rambled on and on during lectures and explained the material in such a confusing way that no one understood what he meant. Office hours were not helpful and tests were extremely difficult. Don't take a class with him!

Unclear grading criteria. Changes his policy constantly which makes him confusing. Many classmates were lost also. Super hard class. Do not recommend it!

If youre ain't willing to work extra hard and go to other professors for assistance or watch Youtube videos to semi understand the material, then skip Franco. All you do is end up stressing, working you a-- off and end up with a bad grade. Unless you're out of your mind, you would take him.

This class was probably one of the WORST classes Ive chosen by far. The professor jumps all over the place and talks 100 mph making it hard to understand and keep up. He does not care about students the way other professors do. Terrible teaching. Terrible class. From the looks of it all his classes are terrible.

Bad at explaining and forgets everything, this can easily cost you your grade with his constant amnesia. You basically teach yourself all semester cause he doesn't teach at all. Don't take him its not worth your financial aid, time or grade!

We started the class with like 12 students. A few dropped and ALL were constantly worried about the bad grades they kept getting on the hw and tests. No consideration for his students. Do I need to explain any more?

The only one positive thing about this professor is that he starts on time. I guess its not good if youre the late type. He'll start talking about something and pause when someone asks a question, and gets easily distracted and talks a lot about meaningless things, and you're not sure what to write down, or what is going on.

This professor name is Able Franco. He is NOT able to teach or care for his students and he is NOT frank. Makes it seem like hes easy going and flexible. Then after the drop date the real him comes out. NOT GOOD!

This professor is AWOL for assigning a 15 pages long paper. This was the same as other senior theses paper. He also added a final one week before the paper due date. Avoid any of his classes or else you will very soon regret.

You really don't know what his thought process is for the midterm and final. I dont think if he knows what he wants in the end. He thinks everything he's telling you is important -_- don't take this class if you have more going on than his course or if you have other courses. This course was hell.

Too bad I have to give him such a low rating because outside of class he seems pretty chill. That stops the minute he walks into the classroom. He frustrated me and many of my classmates to no end.

Went to tutoring whenever I could and did everything in my power and still failed the tests. hes just a horrible professor. Not helpful at all. Don't take him unless your ready to teach yourself and still not pass.

Your posted grade is never accurate. He has some weird percentage scale that he uses instead. How about not him not making his class so darn hard so he can use a traditional scale. GEEZ! The study "guide" and tests are different than you expect, be aware tests are essay format and timed. Take him and keep your stress level outta the roof.

He always rambles on about things like himself and cats, basically things that are loosely related to the subject at hand. Overall not a good professor. 2 ½ hours of class per week and 24/7 hours of worry that you may fail the class even after putting in too much effort.

Trails off lecture like the trolley problem and no matter which way you steer you are screwed. Talks alot says little of importance that can help you from the brutal hw and tests.

This guy is the worst professor ever. He is teaching is so bad. Had to drop the class, others did too. A waste of half a semester in there. Don't take him.

Professor with Two faces. Comes across all cool like he cares and then the minute he grades your assignments and exams that all changes. He failed many and the few others barely passed. There is NO point in taking a professor who will go against you like this.

Never met a professor this hard. He not only ruined my grade He also ruined my time at CSUN. I think he has reached his end. He should think of retiring. Professors should be helping their students. Dont count on help from this professor

Prof. Franco gives an insane amount of work. He must think we have no life outside his class. He is BRUTAL with his grading and gets a big fat "F" as a helpful professor. He simply doesn't care. His way or the highway. Complaining to him does no good. Complaining to his boss doesn't either. He is tenured. iow youre alone fending for yourself.

Very tough. Grading is not consistent. Makes it hard to understand what you are actually doing wrong. Grading system makes it very hard to pass Choose another professor besides this one.

When you get your paper back with corrections, they're extremely unclear. When you ask for more clear corrections, he just reads the corrections off the paper to you and goes on tangents at the speed of light

Word of caution: AVOID! I would not take his class ever again. This class left me and my GPA in trauma. This teacher can talk. He don't care what you have going. No multiple choice test All ESSAYS AND GRADES HARD. U get to do hw to no end, long papers and to top it off, oral presentations too.

His lectures are very unclear, even will confuse himself. I just dont know why he even offers xtra credit bc its impossible to get. First, You have to get a perfect score on each assignment to even qualify for the extra credit. You have more of a chance to get hit by lightning So dream on about the xtra credit. It will never happen!

wish I had chosen a different professor for this course. but didn't have much of a choice. I am an applied student who likes to understand concepts, but this didnt happen because we skimmed thru the material since there are way too many readings. The homework is far too difficult and his grading is insane!

BEWARE Grades lenient up until the day after the drop deadline. Once you are trapped he ups his game and the real him comes out. He doesnt care to motivate his students period!

Plenty of negative things to point out about him and his class. Trust me on this one DO NOT TAKE or you WILL regret !

professor Franco does not come highly recommended. He says he offers xtra credit but you can never earn it bc u need to get full credit on the hw to get it. This will never happen bc he is insanely harsh grader. Most of us worked hard on the hw and barely got 50% He might as well not offer xtra credit its pointless bc its false

Dont be fooled by his chillness and jokes the first two weeks of class like a lot of us did. He is plan horrible, drop b4 it's too late. No matter what anyone said just DROP!!!!! I will never take another one of his classes, he effed up my gpa! After the drop deadline the hatchet comes out. Save urself and DROP!

You will get the right answer wrong on a test because there is a "better answer" Extremely confusing and unfair. Tests are timed plus be ready to provide dissertation long answers for each multi question prompt.

Franco is so old fashioned No devices of any kind are allowed. Its either he is unrelatable to our generation or he is too uptight and controlling. Wouldnt doubt it if it was both, tbh. He seems like the type.

I wish he had playback speed so that I can lower it to .50 speed. His pronunciation is horrible and he speaks so fast. A combo guaranteed for disaster!

Franco is bad at teaching the material. Is confusing, often loses track of what he's doing, says no then yes. Huh? He's probably the only professor who would do better to encourage students to NOT fill out teacher evaluations at the end of the year. Also, he assigns a good deal of homework.

The most annoying thing about this professor is how unclear he is during lectures. He says where was I? about 10x in a lecture. He rambles on and on about absolutely nothing that relates to what we are discussing. He scribbles stick figures on the board. A big mess.

Professor Frano gives really heavy lectures. He makes it stressful. Youll have essays to turn in. If you like stress take him otherwise take another professor

Midterm and final were ridiculously hard. Doesn't share the powerpoints. Written assignments are also graded hard. I wish I switched out on day one. Very difficult guy.

No doubt Franco is one of the worst professors at Northridge. He is super hard to comprehend, very thick accent. Only two exams per semester that are very difficult, you do bad and you're screwed. It's so easy to do bad in this class because his grading is unrealistic.

This was a wicked tough class. Dont rely on his useless study guides. They are misleading bc less than 1 percent is actually on the exam. Granted his lectures can be very scattered and his accent is hard to make out.

AWFUL. A million issues with his "teaching", readings, assignments, grading, and personality. If you value your happiness, or your education, you won't take anything with him. Especially if youre about to graduate.

This was def one of the worst teachers I've ever had. Seemed nice in class but required an absurd amount of work and was a harsh grader and not flexible with students. Does not make learning enjoyable.

Odd how when people ask him questions in lecture that he doesnt know how to answer, he just talks around the question and never gives a direct answer or says that what you are saying is something else unrelated to the current topic.

Franco expects you to know the concepts like an expert even tho he is seriously lacking in teaching them. In my book he fails as a professor. I am sure there are other good ones take anyone else but not him.

Taking his class is exactly like having a person giving you directions and you end up driving in circles but never reaching your destination. Enjoy being frustrated by him or seek anger management after awhile.

Do NOT take this class. boring, tedious, and frustrating. He is an arrogant teacher Most students find disorganized and difficult to learn from. He thinks too highly of himself. He is not worth the stress and frustration.

Lecture heavy and his lectures were very disorganized and confusing. The class felt like it was a waste of time.

This prof really does not know how to talk to students, but I will say, the man is smart. The reason why I think he struggles to teach is because it is hard for him to go back to ground zero and explain concepts in a way we can understand. Be prepared to find a tutor and still earn a bad grade.

I wouldn't take this teacher for the life of me. I worked my butt off and he still had no problem giving me a D. kind of seems like he gets pleasure out of failing his students.
