He's interesting and pretty funny. I found his TA graded more harshly than he did. Happy to help if you ask and the help is actually useful. I never cracked open the textbook and french is my second language and I was able to get through the class just fine. A prof I would definitely recommend.
As far as lectures go I loved them! He is so passionate about history but he does speak very fast! The class itself although very interesting was very difficult as the exams were an all or nothing concept. Only 2 questions each worth 50% of the exam.
I found Professor Lalonde to be a great professor. He taught the information simply and it was not difficult to understand, unless he was running out of time- then he spoke very fast. His expectations were crystal clear and he was not a difficult marker. He made jokes and tried to engage all of the students. I enjoyed this class with him.
No final, but a large research paper and presentation. Very interesting professor with a strong ability to engage students in American politics! I would definitely recommend taking this course and this professor, but be prepared that he doesn't grade easily!
Such an amazing professor. He is very clear about the grading criteria on the exams and dedicates a full class to revision before the midterms. He's a teacher who cares about his students and values their feedback and opinion about his lectures and the clarity of his explanations. He also makes the class funny and entertaining in his own way
My favourite professor. Very clear lectures and he is very passionate about the topic. He marks fairly and gives good feedback. There are not many tests or assignments so the workload is light. You must do a lot of studying before exams and attend class in order to pass. Very interesting class and the prof is engaging. Definitely recommend.
Amazing prof. Absolutely didn't mind having to wake up at 8:30 for his class. He really knows how to make confusing concepts easy to understand, and follows the textbook very closely- if you make a point of attending all the lectures, you probably won't need the book at all. Would 100% take this course again.
Super friendly prof. Definitely knows what he's talking about. Likes to crack jokes about content. Very few evaluation points (only a midterm, one assignment, and final). His powerpoints have no text on them and he doesn't post on blackboard so you have to go to class and you have to pay attention. definitely a great guy though. dad hot.
Francois Lalonde is a great lecturer and prof. Very engaging and draws you in with his enthusiasm and wit. Loves his subject and it shows in his lectures. Makes the odd history jokes which is appreciated once in a while. Very clear in his lectures. You need to be in class to get the notes necessary. Does talk fast at times but definitely worth it.
By far my favourite prof this semester. He's passionate about his material and his lectures are really entertaining. Describes historical figures and events in a funny, relatable way. Fair marker, and gives really clear criteria for assignments. Emphasizes analysis over memorization, which was a nice surprise for a history prof.
Attendance is not mandatory, but if you don't attend you will miss a lot of material. His classes are interesting; he uses power points and videos. He is a tough grader and there are very few comments on exams and essays about how to ameliorate yourself.
Really enjoyed him as a prof, his lectures are interesting and he's a fair marker. You need to attend class because he doesn't post anything online. You'll get a good amount of feedback on your exam, and it was fairly easy to do well on the analysis paper. Would take his class again/recommend him to others
He is an amazing teacher. You have to attend the lectures because he doesn't put any notes online but he makes the material interesting. As long as you attend his class, the exams are easy because there are no surprises- the answers will be exactly what he said in class. Also, I never opened the textbook and still did really well.
Warning: He speaks fast and you will probably need to tell him to slow down at least once, but all of his information is relevant to the course. He enjoys showing clips in class too. I didn't use the textbook and still did well, but just a precaution for studying: he likes details so start to write down dates.
All and all amazing prof. His passion for what he teaches is obvious and he passes it on in his lectures. Starts every class with a song to put students in the context and uses a lot of media as well. Make sure to attend class and study for exams as you would for any class. Over all wonderful class. Would take again.
TAKE HIS CLASS. Funny, and really know his stuff. He uses videos also to further explain his lectures. If you show up, you don't need the textbook, if you don't go to class, you do (and it covers a lot). But go to his class, his lectures are awesome! I'm not even in French immersion, but I took a second class in French (HIS 1511) JUST FOR HIM.
Best prof I've ever had. Includes songs and video clips in his lectures which make them even more interesting. Organises his material clearly and he is very passionate about what he teaches. Amazing class, again 10/10 would recommend.
Tough grader but has amazingly well done lectures full of videos and clips and interesting graphics. Very good professor overall.
Prof Lalonde is a really great prof and an even greater guy. He is really interested in his material and it shows . He has such a humorous take on the material. He makes a 3 hour lecture fly by. If you get the chance take any of his courses.
Such a good prof! As a French Immersion student the lack of slides made it difficult to follow sometimes (especially because he tends to talk FAST) but he is so funny and engaging that it totally makes it worth it to take his class. Passionate about history and just a super nice guy
This guy is by far my favourite history professor! His lecture are amazing and he plays music at the beginning of every class to get you into the historical time period. Honestly I would take any of his classes. I highly recommend taking his class but only if you are ready to put in the work. His class is amazing but it is not an "easy A"
You'll need to attend class, but you won't need to use your textbook. Clear lectures that he presents like a story, making it very easy to follow and get the info he wants you to get. His tests are tough - he forces you to make connections and apply what you've learned, but you'll be able to do it if you went to class. Best professor I've had.
I had him for three classes (this, HIS1511 and HIS1510), and he's the best prof I've ever had! His lectures are always interesting and he makes complicated topics easy to follow. It's easy to do well on the midterms and exams if you pay attention in class. The textbooks aren't necessary, but they give more detailed information.
One of my favourite profs all year. He makes his lectures interesting and easy to follow. Also uses videos which is nice. Be prepared for a lot of note taking but time goes by really fast. Do not need to read the textbook if you have good notes and you study. Midterm/Exam 5 short, 1/2 long answers. Not too hard if you study but lots of writing
J'ai pris 2 cours de première année (HIS1510 et HIS1511) et j'ai adoré! Excellente lectures. Examen de mi-session et de fin session plutôt facile. Tu doit être prêt à travailler, prendre des notes et étudier. Travail d'analyse critique plutôt complexe mais pas impossible. Donne plusieurs options sur examen et projet. Je recommende ses cours.
He is by far my favourite prof! He played music at the beginning of every lecture to get you in the mood! I have taken 3 classes with this prof and will be taking another one with him this year! If you can take a class with him do it! he is not very clear about grading criteria sometimes but if you have any questions go see him. Awesome prof!
A great prof. Lectures are very interesting and his analysis assignment isn't very hard (Compared to other classes where 10 pages based on a 50 page text + other sources is the norm). While he doesn't upload his powerpoints online the subject matter is simple enough since it's interesting and easy to learn. Chances are you know a lot of it already.
Good overall
Love this prof! He's so funny and he's amazing at what he does and he's pretty understanding, ex: the books never came so he redid all his tests. Really down to earth and knows his stuff. Take his classes.
Professor Lalonde is a great professor, incredibly engaging and makes learning enjoyable. Classes are mandatory as the slides are not posted online, nor are there any notes actually on the slides. Assignments and exams easy if you are prepared. Have had him twice, and enjoyed both times!!
Such a great professor! He cares about his students and is always excited to teach. If you have history with him it is great and I would give anything to have him as my professor for my next history class. Class is not mandatory (no attendance taken) but if you want to pass the final show up to the classes. 10/10 recommend.
He is an amazing prof. He is very passionate about the subject and it makes his lectures easy to follow. Take any class you can with him!!!
I really liked Prof. Lalonde. He really knows the material and he teaches it well. Tough grader though. He's really clear what the mid-term and final will be like so there's no surprises
If you attend class and pay attention, its not a hard class at all. He's an amazing lecturer and probably one of the best profs at the University. He knows his material inside and out. He's very willing to help and he's super easy to listen to. the way he presents his material is clear and cohesive.
Definitely one of my favourite professors. He is an amazing lecturer, and consistently asks to make sure the class understands everything. He is very clear about how he wants his assignments done, and dedicates whole lectures to review sessions before midterms and exams. A caring guy who is very passionate about history.
I had him for History and honestly, his lectures are amazing, but if you skip class it will be 10x harder to catch up. He's super approachable and loves to answer questions and explain things. Honestly, he's a great prof!
I loved this class! I found him to be a pretty tough grader, but his lectures were so good that it doesn't even matter. I found his class so interesting that I was actually sad on days I could not attend. Easily one of my favourite profs at uOttawa
Amazing coverage of the World Wars. I would definitely take his class again but beware, it is a lot of work. He also talks very fast and does not post slides. Well worth it though if you love history.
Ce professeur est un vrai passionné! J'ai beaucoup appris et retenu durant son cour car il vulgarise très bien sa matière.
he has great lectures, they're engaging and funny. I did really well and didn't do any readings. Just go to class and you should be golden. I would definitely take him and recommend him to others
Took HIS1510 and 1511. Really interesting courses, but you need to be good at taking notes. Papers are graded a bit tougher than I was expecting, but it's not a super difficult course overall. Great lecturer, organizes his courses well, really knows his stuff, especially American history.
Great guy. His lectures are interesting and he is very clear. Evaluations are easy if you study and listen to what he said he wants to see in your answers.
Very hard class, but if you attend, take good notes and participate you will be sucessful. On another hand, he's one of the best professors I've ever had.
For the first French class I've taken since first year, this was an excellent choice! He doesn't put much on his slides, and only the outlines are put up on Brightspace before the midterm and final. However, he clearly structures his lectures so I am able to follow what he is saying even if I don't understand every word. Would highly recommend!
Such an amazing prof! He gives very detailed lectures but doesn't use slides so if you miss something he says be prepared to get it off of someone else, especially historical dates. Be prepared to do A LOT of memorization for the midterm and final exam, dates are crucial in this class. Tests may be tough on time, so be sure to know all your content
Lalonde is so funny. I absolutely adore him. I highly suggest visiting during office hours, he's really helpful and easy to talk to. He doesn't post slides so make sure you go to class or you will have no idea what is going on. Honestly one of my favourite lecturers.
His lectures are AMAZING. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you miss even one class you will be lost. Tough grader but if you go over your thesis for the primary source analysis during his office hours you'll be fine.
He's a good prof. Tough grader but very accessible and gives good feedback, so really a non-issue if you actually put in the effort. Lectures are interesting and he's pretty funny - I'd take one of his courses again.
If you love history you will love this prof and his lectures!! He's passionate about what he teaches and makes it very interesting! Lectures are never boring, he incorporates many audio-visual supports and makes jokes. I am very happy I took his class and I hope I can take more of his classes through my studies, hands down the best prof I've had.
Doesn't post lecture notes online, so you really have to go to class. All in all, very funny and easy to sit through his lectures. 100% recommend.
You must go to lectures and take good notes in class. Didn't use the textbook unless I didn't go to class. He is a good lecturer, as you can tell he cares about the subject and makes it interesting for students. If you have any questions he is happy to answer them.
Lalonde is not a good prof at all. His lectures are somewhat interesting but extremely jam-packed and it is hard to get down all the notes. His exams are based only on his lectures but grading criteria is rough. He doesn't help look over essays before handing them in and doesn't provide any useful feedback. It is very difficult to get a good mark.
I know that a lot of people love Mr. Lalonde but I do not feel the same way. First off, his lectures are really heavy and he kind of throws information and expects you to memorize everything. His exams are also so specific and he basically wants you to remember every single detail. So, if you dont have a good memory, avoid at all costs.
Hands down the best history prof ever. His teaching style is very stimulating and he's a funny guy too. Get ready to take a crap ton of notes every lecture. Exam questions are reasonable BUT marking is extremely hard. Don't listen to him when he says he's not asking you to memorize dates. You need to know the details to get a high mark.
One of the best profs here! Lectures are interesting and engaging but he does speak fast so you have to pay close attention because exams reflect exactly what's covered. You have to work hard in this class but it's worth it. Everything that I learned in this class has come up more than once in my upper year courses
Hands down, the best professor at the university. I was in 4th year but took his class as an elective and I regretted not having took him earlier on. He is funny, charming, and very intelligent. Cannot recommend enough.
If I could only take this prof, I would! His lectures are always exciting and strongly encourages participation in the class. Don't bother getting the textbook, as the most basic material is covered in the lectures. He always uses the same layout for exams (definitions, short answers + essay), making his class very straightforward. Highly recommend
Lectures are fun and engaging, need to attend as he doesn't post notes at all. He grades well although is fairly vague in his instructions and feedback for certain assignments. Only complaint is that his lectures aren't always in chronological order making it kinda difficult to organize your thoughts for studying.
Lalonde delivers interesting lectures but are they're extremely jam-packed and it is hard to get down all the notes. Having said that, he's useless at helping students write good essays and doesn't provide any useful feedback. If you're looking for a prof that will help you become a stronger writer and a deeper thinker, he ain't it!
He managed to make me look forward to an 8:30 AM course. That's really all I need to say, but also: you don't need the (optional) book, and he doesn't post his lecture slides, so either show up or have a friend in class.
the best teacher I have had so far! He knows what he talks about and clearly enjoys being in front of a class to give lecture on it. Sometimes it might be a bit tricky to get down all the notes as he speaks quite fast. For the rest, easy exam if you pay attention in class and do all the lectures (not even necessary)
Favourite prof at uOttawa! I am no way a morning person, but loved attending his 8:30. He doesn't provide slides, but I found it made me learn better as I only needed to focus on him and not him and the slides. he is very passionate and he will make you fall in love with history if you aren't already! 10/10 recommend!
Lalond is one of my favorite history profs. He makes morning classes enjoyable with music from different decades. Lectures are easy to follow and interesting. He has the voice of a radio presenter so he's really nice to listen to. Very passionate about American history which makes it even better. Highly highly recommend.
HIS1111 has been the best class of my university experience. Lalonde gives amazing lectures. He does not put material on the slides aside for pictures so you have to listen to what he is saying, but it is easy to follow along because he is so expressive and engaging. This class was amazing, I feel like I learned a lot about the Cold War era.
First university class that I truly enjoyed. He's passionate about his class and it's a great atmosphere. Be ready to take lots of notes and fast. You definitely need to come to class and pay attention or else you will miss a lot. This class was so interesting and he was a great prof. Highly recommend.
Really funny and interesting guy, Very knowledgeable, absolutely would recommend
His lectures are super interesting, he even plays music at the beginning of each lecture that related to the historical time we were discussing (these songs were a bonus on the exam). He has one assignment, a historical analysis, which is marked super critically so work hard on it! Overall a great course
This guy really knows his stuff. He's super passionate about history and it shows in the lectures. He's not interested in making you memorize dates and events but wants students to be able to understand their historical significance. You need to show up to class or have a friend to send notes because he posts nothing on brightspace.
Professor Lalonde is an amazing lecturer. He can go quickly at times but he's always super clear that you can ask him to slow down or repeat anything you missed. He's extremely knowledgeable and is great at answering questions. He references a lot of history movies and has a good sense of humour. Textbook not required but really useful.
An absolutely amazing prof - get ready to take some serious notes, but he tells the story so well it sticks in your mind. Also a super funny guy, loved his class and would happily take more - despite being an eng major!!
Best Uottawa prof, take him you wont regret it
Awesome prof, hes very passionate about what he teaches and m explains the things very well; you dont need to go to his classes (as long as u have key dates of everything u can look them up). But would highly recommend going anyways cause he is a fun dude. His midterms and finals are tough not because they are hard, its because of time.
Seriously, best history prof ever. You won't even see time pass, his lectures are so interesting.
His classes are extremely hard to keep up with - he talks really fast and does not post lecture notes so going to class is important. He does not give clear explanations or feedback for papers and there are only three assessments for the class so if you don't do well on one, your grade is likely to not recover.
His lectures feel like you're watching movies as opposed to just the regular boring lectures. Will often repeat himself on important parts of his lectures. Nothing posted online so definitely go to every class but he does let you record lectures!
Fantastic Prof. His lectures are amazing and really help you understand the material better. If you attend class and don't slack off, his class will be your best one ever.
Love Prof Lalonde! The course load was heavy but he makes lectures interesting. Exams are challenging, but as long as you expand and listen to what he emphasizes on during lectures you'll do well. If you miss a lecture, the midterm includes options so you'll probably be okay. Amazing prof who cares about his students!
Got a good grade, but I had to pour way too much effort into this course for the grade received. My other courses suffered because of how much this course took, and at the end of the day, I was severely shorted on the mark I deserved.
Professor Lalonde is by far my favorite professor ever, he has inspired me to love the program, he is so passionate and inspiring. I used not to be interested in American history and somehow he made me fall for it and now I'm looking forward to learning more. He is hilarious and his lectures are the best. He doesn't post anything online tho.
If you have any opportunity to take a class with him, take it. Not only is the material fascinating but his lectures are extremely entertaining. He is knowledgeable and always recounts funny historical anecdotes that make class enjoyable. Really knows how to teach. I'm in a program unrelated to history but it was my favourite class this year.
what a fantastic human being. I took this class with him and was SO captivated by his teaching that I enrolled in another one of his classes for the summer term. The best prof I've ever had. The way he explains things just sticks in your head and lectures with him are so pleasant.
Je pense qu'il est le meilleur professeur que j'ai pris à l'université. Il est tellement intelligent et il explique les choses d'une manière si utile!
The best prof at Uottawa! I try to take a class with him whenever possible! His lectures are amazing and his assignments are pretty straight forward, so you'll do well as long as you actually try. He's just the best!
Amazing prof, engaging lectures, def recommend, very passionate and cares about his students
Literally the best prof I've ever had. Lectures are amazing and super engaging, and he's always available to help outside of class. If you are even remotely interested in history, I highly recommend taking any of his classes if you have a chance! You won't regret it
The work he gives are more complicated than his lecture provide. There are no room for free thinking and creativity. The lectures are interesting to watch, similar to youtube documentaries, yet they are not that helpful to overall success.
The professor is amazing and you never get bored in this class, however the TA is awful. The assignments can be challenging.
Amazing professor but GARBAGE TAs. I swear these TAs dont even study history lol
If you wanna learn, he's your guy. If you want an easy A, stay away. Best lecturer I've had. Energetic and knowledgable: He clearly loves the topics he teachers. However, his expectations are high.
Course material was presented clearly but could have been more in-depth. Exams were all essay-based, without the use of outside sources. For some papers, relying solely on the course material and the meager textbook made it difficult to answer questions in depth. Supposed to be a World History course but very US-centric which was not appreciated.
He is so funny. I adored him. He cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. I really appreciated my term with him. It was lots of information all the time but that is what history is.
The professor was AMAZING and was easy to follow. HOWEVER, be aware of the TAs... Not all are tough graders, but there is a specific TA who grades in an unfair manner.
He is the best professor I had during my time at UOttawa
Wonderful lecturer with very clear expectations for assignments. No readings.
Funny and engaging prof. For so much info, he does a very good job at organizing his points to make note taking easier. Attending class is a must since he posts no course content. Be able to listen and take your own notes since he has no writing up on slides. I'd never taken a history course before, but this prof makes my mornings a little better.
best prof at uni so far, lectures are short and interesting. exams are one question type, but he give good preparation. textbook is recommended but not really mandatory. would definitely recommend
Perhaps the best prof I had so far at uOttawa. Doesn't post slides so you need to take good notes, but he does an incredible job with his lectures. If you're also looking for a good start to your day, take this class. TA's are hard markers, but if you know the content you will do well. Assignments are a take-home midterm and final and an essay.
Professor Lalonde is one of my favorite professors. As a second year student, I've taken his history classes numerous times as electives. His lectures are amazing and very engaging. If you have taken notes, the assignments he gives are very easy to complete. If you have an interest in history, I would 100% recommend taking his history classes.
At the end of the session, there is a bonus question about all the music he played during his lectures. Write down five titles, and you're good. He is very Jovial and easygoing, and classes are not mandatory. I learned a lot in this course. I wish each teacher were delicate like him. If you have the chance, TAKE THIS COURSE WITH HIM!!!
Take him if you can! I'm not in history but this class was a great elective and very straightforward. His lectures are super engaging and concise, however, he doesn't post the content from lectures so definitely need to attend. TAs are somewhat tough graders but if you understand how to analyze the content you will be good!
Such a great prof! I will definitely be taking him again. If you need any history class, take HIS 2553 with Francois Lalonde, he really knows the subject, and makes this class so interesting, and fun.
Professor Lalonde was an excellent lecturer! He is extremely passionate about his job, and regularly available outside of class to talk about assignments. The music at the beginning of lectures were fun, and you didn't really have to read the textbook. However, his TA's are somewhat tough and don't give the best feedback on his online exams.
Awesome lectures, material was easy to follow. Assignments reflected what we learned in class. Honestly one of my favourite profs to have taken a class with.
I would not recommend Francois if you get bored easily, his prerecorded lectures are extremely dreadful and long. I find history pretty interesting but I couldn't follow his recordings. His voice is very monotone which makes it hard to stay engaged and fully take in what he's trying to teach. He also doesn't post his power points online.
Professor Lalonde is an exceptional educator, and I highly recommend taking his class. He encourages independent notetaking but PP is available. His relaxed teaching style creates a comfortable learning environment. While TAs may be strict graders, Professor Lalonde provides clear assignment guidelines. Don't miss the chance to enroll in his class!
Best prof ever
If you can take him do it!! He Is super entertaining and explains things very well. He does an excellent job of going out of his way to add funny historical facts. you do not need a textbook if you go to class. graded on 3 analysis papers. He also goes out of his way to make himself seem human and approachable and truly wants you to succeed.
I've never had a prof that's been as passionate as M.Lalonde. Going to his classes are really fun, he throws in jokes and makes the history material actually fun. He uses story-telling methods to keep engaging the class. His assignments are low maintenance - you only need to submit 3 things and they're usually straightforward essays.
Professor Lalonde is a really amazing prof. He doesn't put many word on his powerpoints, so you actually have to listen to what he is saying to take notes. Hee talks at a good pace and very clearly, so it was very easy to follow. I learned so much in his class and he is very knowledgable.
Very funny and amazing lectures, overall an amazing teacher. There is not many graded papers, so they all count for a big chunk of your grade. The grading is average, if you have basic knowledge of the subject and attended most of the classes, it is so easy to at least get a B+, but it is very difficult to get anything over A-.
He is an amazing professor, I wish there were people like him teaching every class. He has my respect, and he will have yours.
Great lecturer, really knows how to captivate his audience. Personally I found his grading to be very tough and it was the case that he grades very differently than his TA's. Generally he is a very good teacher though and I haven't yet heard many complaints about him, would take his class again. He's in love with Nixon though
Professor Lalonde knows how to get his students attention and his lectures are quite interesting. However, he is a tough grader. I worked more in his class than any other and get worse grades. The feedback he gives can be a little contradictory, so it becomes hard to know how to improve. I wouldn't take a class with him again for that reason.
Love him, highly reccomend.
Prof Lalonde's lectures are extremely entertaining and interesting. I was always very excited to go to his classes. The midterm and final were pretty easy as long as you were taking notes and the he gave us a week to write what was essentially a 3 hour midterm. Overall Professor Lalonde is a great professor and you should totally take his class.
Absolutely loved Lalonde. Kinda a tough-ish grader but has thorough feedback. Lectures were amazing to the point where if I couldn't make a class I would genuinely be upset.
He's awesome, lectures are super entertaining, he's a funny guy too, offer images and video in his powerpoints, genuinely cares for his students and very down-to-earth. Highly recommend
Go to lectures and you'll get a good grade. Hardest part is the analysis of a historical document, which he gives you a range to choose from. If you read instructions and the rubric however, you'll be good.
One of the most caring profs, great lectures. Lectures are only in person so show up. Graded on critical thinking and not memorization.
Find a way to sit in front of the class and record his lectures cuz there's absolutely nothing written on his slides. The midterms are just essays so get ready to yap your brain out about history. Only thing i wish he did more was have more than just photos on the slides. ATTEND the lectures for the love of god
Professor Lalonde's lectures are captivating and engaging. While his grading can be tough, his relaxed teaching style creates a comfortable learning environment. Utilizing unstuck AI alongside the textbook helped me ace this class.
Very engaging and kind professor. If you want to take this class as an elective, don't. While the content is not necessarily difficult, the TA's are difficult graders and the expectations of the midterms are way too vague, which might hurt you in the end. You must attend class because you are expected to recite everything in class on the midterms.
Prof Lalonde teaches the material very well, he is obviously very comfortable with teaching this course. The exams were difficult, but overall the professor made it a very enjoyable experience.
Wonderful prof, very charismatic. Super engaging. What you may dislike is that if you dont go to class, you have virtually no way of gaining anything, but I personally view this as a plus. Best prof of all time, hilarious and makes history interesting. Zero quizzes, all essays.
Absolutely adored this man, but it doesn't make up for the extremely difficult grading criteria, which took away from me enjoying the course. Every time I submitted a paper, I didn't know if id get an A or a C, it's not exactly clear what the expectations are. Despite this, some of the best lectures ive attended. Prof Lalonde was so entertaining
Professor Lalonde is a great lecturer but a difficult grader. Don't expect to get an easy A in his class as the median is always around a 70. Textbook is not necessary but is helpful for all the papers. Attending class is a must and there is no in-person exam.
Great professor who is accessible outside of the classroom and is very passionate about what he teaches. The reading level is significant, but fair for a 4th year class.
