She loves the subject but knows nothing about teaching it. Her methods are long and tedious when they can be so simple. She gave homework on things and then realized she hadn't taught the concepts yet, but still counted it. I wish I had known about her

THis lady does not speak english. She will dock you on tests if SHE does not understand you. She is FRENCH and does NOT understand a LICK of english. she complains that we are unclear. I just wanna ask her how long she has been speaking english. obviously not long enough.

Avoid her at all costs...she is horrible!! She can't teach and the tests are NEVER from the study guides like she claims. Be prepared to get frustrated, irritated, and fall asleep in her class. My suggestion: If you end up with her, do everything in your power to get out of her class!

Do not take her class! Going to class is a waste of time b/c u still won't learn anything. She laughs at herself all the time & barely speaks english. This woman was a colleague of mine in the COB. If I would say hello to her in the hallway, she would simply look through me as though I did not matter. She's no longer teaching COB so I guess SHE did not matter. Serves her right!

Her classes are very unstructured, she does not answer questions clearly, has language barrier, but has a high vocabulry in english, her grammar is poor. Do not recommend her at all. Try to get another teacher. Does not have a lot of respect for her students. VERY UNSTRUCURED. Drives everyone crazy

avoid Fran! She gets nothing done in class, and the entire class winds up freaking out about not knowing any material right before the exam. Then, instead of going easy on you, she tells you where to stick it. DO NOT TAKE HER

This is the worse math class I have ever taken. People correct her constantly, and I just stare at the wall because I have no clue what is going on. I went to an office hour once, it was a waste of time, the students who have to deal with her should be getting paid for having to deal with her crap

I loved math before this class. The actual class wasn't that bad; its the professor. She's by far the worst teacher I've ever had. Almost everyone in my class is failing. She doesn't know how to explain anything if you ask questions. If you have her, expect to have a hard time trying to understand.

Fran is the epitomy of horrendous teachers...she has no clue what she is doing, is hard to understand, and cannot even herself do the problems in the book. I have never in my life encountered a worse teacher. Her tests are in no way relevant to the book or class. She should be fired...again!!!

I just took one of her tests--it was 4 pages long...and the last 2 pages I literally left blank. Her tests are absolutely horrible--half the material was NOT taught. I studied for 4-5 solid hours last night--and I'm positive I failed. Fran is a complete ****! Avoid her or you WILL be sorry!!

This woman is senile, AVOID HER. She rambles on about something completely irrelivant to what's on the test, so on our last test everyone I talked to got 1 problem out of the 4. She is impossible to understand and doesn't bother to make sure her students understand any of the material.

Fran tries, she really does, but it is no use. The woman cannot write a test and does not know how to teach. She makes problems more difficult than they really are and she is easily confused. Do not take this class!

I just finished taking the final...I want to rip my hair out.She is the worst teacher, professor whatever I have ever encountered. The class is crap. Basically no matter how hard you study you will still do bad. The exams would probably be easier if she gave them in french. TERRIBLE!

This class actually sucks. I think she got on the wrong plane and ended up in America by mistake. Please God, send this women back to France.. where people can actually understand what she says.

This professor is NICE. However, that doesn't make up for her horrible inability to convey basic material clearly. Trust me, there wasn't a day in which any her students understood the material. Her tests are very hard, but she grades on a huge curve. I made a 45,55,61 on my tests and made a B+.

She can't speak english and thats just her first problem. The second problem is she's teaching math and has no idea was the hell she's talking about. So summary she has no idea about math and can't speak english....and shes teaching math in an english speaking country...you figure it out

How the hell did this lady become a college professor? She's not even fit to teach math to 5 year olds. GET OUT!! I'm serious, don't give her the benefit of the doubt...she is just AWFUL. You'll struggle throughout the entire year, just trying to understand why she's a professor. And trying to get your grade up, but it's impossible! Save your GPA and save yourself from stress. I feel bad for you if you're stuck in this class.

I can't believe that she is still teaching! I had this teacher back in 01' and dropped the class, along with literally about 3/4 of the class. We had a meeting with the math dept heads and I can't believe nothing has been done! This was the only class I EVER dropped at JMU, and I graduated****laude.

Shes very hard to understand and tests are impossible.dont take the class unless u want to fail. I'm sitting here reading everyone's comments about her and I want to cry for two reasons. First because they're so funny and the depth of these comments can only be understood by someone who has experienced this class firsthand. The absolute hell of this class cannot be described. It's a nightmare from her "teaching" methods, (I use this term loosely, this woman cannot do anything that should even remotely be seen as teaching) to her insanely aggravating voice and condescending attitude towards her students. Seriously the worst teacher ever. That might even be a bit of an understatement. Just so you know every single test's class average is around 10 points out of 20. There were like 20-30 people originally in the class but now there are 12 and I am sure everyone is there because the department stopped letting students switch out (including me).

this is an absolute joke of a class. Before college i loved math and this class made me hate it. i had to withdrawal because i was failing even though i got straight A's throughout highschool. I was always confused. She made absolutely no sense to me, and to most of my class.

absolute waste of time. i have never had to experience something like this in my life. the professor has no clue how to teach students. her homeworks do not even apply AT ALL to the tests, which i might add are nearly impossible to get an A on. she'll then go on to stand in front of the class wondering why we all failed...

Don't take this class. She has broken English. Has no idea how to present concepts. She will use symbols without telling you what the symbols are. Then you'll think you finally understand it and you will get a test that has no relation to the class material what so ever!!

On test her lack of clear english is also a problem (ex: in her mind two by two table and a two way table are the same thing). Then her homework is oneline and she doesn't have vista so you need to borrow a friends computer to do the homework if you have vista. Don't buy the 160 dollar book you NEVER use it

Okay everything that people are saying is true. She is impossible to understand and you will get ridiculously lost. But stay with the class!! My test grades were at 75, 75, 86, 30. I probably got a 50 on the final. With my test grades alone i was suppose to get a 66. I ended up getting at B. Stay with it. she sucks but she curves at the end!

Save yourself and do not take this class. She is very confusing, doesn't relay her thoughts clearly at all, and her powerpoints/notes do not make any sense. Honestly, switch out if you can. Only good thing is she curves grades, but probably because the whole class would fail otherwise.

the most frustrating class i have ever had. she seems to know what she is teaching, but doesnt explain it well AT ALL. she does say she will curve though. her quizzes have nothing to do with the homeworks(when she says they will be). does not write questions on quizzes clear, expects you to be very specific. i do NOT recommend her.

okay, the class is UNBEARABLE. However, attendance isn't mandatory so the key is to just show up on tuesdays for reviews and an impossible quiz. i rarely scored higher than a 4 out of ten, and got a 39 on my mid term, but im still going to come out with a high c or a b. the class is frustrating but she curves everything. stick with it

Signed up for this class? GET OUT. I have never had such a worthless course at JMU than this class. NO organized lecture plans, no textbook to follow what she teaches. She basically steals random modules from other universities to teach. Tests and quizes are not written in proper english, so they are impossible to fully understand. GET OUT.

She was the worst professor ever. You cannot understand her quizzes at all, and when you ask for help she yells at you. She only has a midterm and a final, which are both impossible. The only reason anyone passes her class is because of the curve. If you're scheduled to take her class, drop it NOW.

Class is not worth it, DONT TAKE ONLINE. Is too conceptual for 103 and had to drop the class because of it. Teacher isn't helpful and ridicules you if you complain. I thought I could take it, and it screwed me over in the end.

Worst teacher I've had at the school. Its a 103 level class but she just confuses you, I thought I could do it, but I dropped it and got a w. You will not get an A or B. Get off your lazy ass and take it in the classroom with an easy teacher.

I thought this class would be a breeze because its 103 online. Little did I know this class screwed me over completely. Ended up with a w because I didn't want to to ruin my GPA. Impossible to get an A or B. Get off your lazy behind and take this class in the classroom with an easy teacher.

Avoid at all costs. Spent needless hours over the webwork slaving over each one just to get the 100. I missed 1 entire assignment(out of a lot) and only got problems wrong on 2 others. having aced every other assignment I was completely shocked to have received a C- I emailed for a reason but was told simply "ask me next semester"

This class was a waste. I'm pretty sure I failed, and it is an entry level math. Prof is a joke and extremely rude. I'm appalled that this person is even at such a great school like JMU. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.

Anybody who says she is a good teacher is a sadist. Her lessons are taken from other colleges and have nothing to do with assignments. The rare times she will reply to your e-mails she wont respond to the questions. If I totaled my actual grade I should've gotten a B and yet she gave me a C. Avoid it. It's just not worth it.

I'm convinced she doesn't know how to speak English. Every time I asked her a question she gave me a riddle as an answer. She wasn't helpful at all and I learned nothing in this class. Take this class in person and with someone else.

Not much to say about this course other than avoid this professor. Every assignment is on webworks and the only help you're allowed to get is through email and you're forbidden from getting help from the math center on assignments. I'd rather watch paint dry for 5 hours than take this class again.

I am a graduating senior and i can genuinely say that this is the worst professor I have taken at JMU. She has no idea how to work canvas other than how to adjust the home page. She sends no reminders of when assignments are due. She won't let you make up assignments even if it just one day late.

By far the WORST professor Ive ever had in my entire life. Literally communicates nothing to students and is condescending to every question asked. No clear grading. On the grade page I was passing till somehow I failed and didnt even have the decency to explain how I did that. Just spoke down to me again. If I could rate lower than a 1 I would.

If you want to take a class where you have no idea what your grade is throughout the semester, have no communication with the professor, and end up with a D as your final grade then this is the class to take.
