Tests are fair, homework fair. He's fast, but good. A challenging economics course, but there is a curve at the end. He knows his stuff. Keep up, show up, do the homework, you'll do fine. Don't bother if you're a slacker though.
not helpful, doesn't care about students, hard
He's an excellent teacher. The tests are with open notes and book. The only bad thing is that there are three diferent versions.
Challenging professor, but knowledgeable and clear. His tests are open note and open book.
Very smart & knowledgeable on the subject of economics. Always prepared for class & went to each one. But didn’t know how to deal with people. His tests were very, very hard even though they were open book!! You had to know the info to take the tests!
Very smart guy & knows plenty on the topic of economics. But his tests are very, very hard even though he claims that they are open book!! You have to know the information to do well on the tests. Books at the test takes you long time to finish exam!
I learned a lot in this course, but it was an extremely hard class. He assumed that you already knew plenty about economics and he didnt cover any basic ideas in economics. He teaches soso, but whats worse is that he expects way to much from students.
Tough class, but fair. If you don't understand a concept, you really need to question it and study it harder because each concept is a building block for the next one. Don't rely on the open book testing format as an excuse not to know the material.
One of the hardest professor I've ever had. Open book/note test don't mean anything, you can easily fail his test.
Taking his online course and its not easy..All I can say is STUDY STUDY STUDY if you want to be successful in his class. Probably a better teacher in person not online.
If your lazy don't take his class. Not an easy class, but if you actually want to be forced to learn the subject...highly recommend taking him. He gives open book tests that you have to think about.
He's really a good teacher! His tests arent hard if you go to class, and pay attention. He's always making sure we understand the concepts of many things. I recommend this teach, and im goin to take him again next semester
Extremely hard exams! He gives you open book exams, but you do need to study hard for them and understand the material! Using the books during the exam just wastes your time while taking the exams. I didn’t learn much in the course, just some basic terms
man, was this course hard!! he really went fast with it and never really had much of an introduction to the course...just jumped right in w/ little or no eplanation! also, the books on the "open book exams" are just going to take up your time, s
Very good teacher. I learned a lot. You have to go to class and listen. He explains things very thouroughly. Test are challenging, but there are plenty of ways to make up for poor test grades, i.e. extra credit, group assignments, papers, etc.
this economics course was not taught very well and really was not well organized. the teacher never really covered any basic fundamentals and went over material that was way to far advanced for such a basic and beginner course.
One of the most, if not the most intelligent and insightful teachers I have ever had. The class was fairly easy for me because I do well in classes like Economics. It appeared to me he made it easy for everyone, even though a lot of work had to be done.
Very intelligent man, maybe too intelligent for his own good. Not very helpful and sometimes dismissive of questions you have. All that said, he teaches economics in a way which made me switch my major to economics once at UCF. Study study study.
This man is not extremly hard but he isnt a walk in the park either. Just get to class at least 5 mins b4 class starts b/c he doesnt play with attendance. Study. Also look at his notes on the web b/c they help. Good luck!!
If you like a teacher who listens to your questions and answers them w/ any amount of empathy, this is not the guy for you! However, if you have a knack for reading jig-jagged scribble (aka his version of a graph), you may do fairly well in this couse...
He is a good teacher. Economics is not an easy subject, but he makes it easy to understand. Those who say the course is too hard and that he rushes through problably never came to class.
He is really a horrible teacher. I don't understand why teachers like him are hired in the first place.
Mr. Albritton is probably one of the best professors at SCC. He is probably one of the most knowledgible professors on economics in the southeast. His exams don't test you on definitions but rather on how you apply what you've learned.
He is not the easiest teacher, but if you keep up with the homework and take good notes you'll do well.
I found Professor Albritton to be very rude and unconcerned about almost every student in our entire class. He was the worst professor I have ever had.
Dont leave you much chance for mistakes.
I'm taking him online and he is very unhelpful. Most things are due weekly at the end of the week. Of course the article project is due at the beginning of the week and I wasnt aware of that until I checked the weekly assignments in the middle. 20% off.
If you want to become the best economist in the world, and you are only taking one class take this guy. If you want a ton of homework and reading and stuff due just about everyday, take this guy. Dont take this guy if you are trying for a high gpa, or have more then one class, or are just trying to
Awesome teacher!!! Knows his stuff and gives a bunch of in class assignments. This class will keep you very busy but this guy is the best economics teacher i've ever seem. Very professional. I worked really hard and got a B. he's wroth it, you'll really learn a lot.
Albritton is a decent teacher. Economics is a tough subject, so don't think your going to coast by, but he is pretty clear in whats expected, and explaining the material. Has a general disconnect from a personal standpoint, seems to be rude, aloof when it comes to students. Almost like its achore
VERY intelligent, this was the only class that I could take and apply in the real world as soon as I left. He makes you apply what you learned and not regurgitate information like most classes.
Just because he gives you 546 busy work assignments, doesnt mean he is an awsome smart teacher...sorry. I learned more from my second eco teacher, and we had about 5 homework assignments. To pass you must devote all your time to his class and forget about your other classes. not worth it!!!
I was in his class for one day and I dropped it during drop/add week. I knew right from the beginning i wouldn't be able to handle his mumbling quiet voice, his 300 assignments, and all the homework. He needs to retire already!
To the point, easy web site. I didn't read anything at home and I have a B+ in the class. Other teachers don't let you have open note and open book for quiz and tests.
Horrible professor. The man is definitely smart, but doesn't have the skills needed to transfer that knowledge to a student.
I took his online class thinking it would be an easy A, but i was definately wrong and ended up with a C. Some of the material on his online quizzes wasn't even from the book. Thought i liked economics until i took this class, never taking an online class again !
He's very clear about everything, including his lecture, assignment, grade, and his test. He helps you to learn with lots of supplement. More importantly, the stuff he teaches is really practical,so you can apply it into real life.
Even though that i got a C,I honestly think that he is an excellent professor and very smart.I really learned a lot from him, and also he teached me how to apply economics concepts in the real world. He has a lot of experienced. Very cool professor and clear. It is just a matter of effort and doing the assingments and you will be fine.
Really nice guy and very helpful. The syllabus is very intimidating at first, but just stick with it and you'll be okay. It's not an easy class though, especially if you want an A but it's possible. Focus on the PowerPoints and the other materials provided, skim over the assigned textbook reading. I would take another class with him.
I took his class in summer A, and the syllabus was intimidating. However, if you attend class, do the homework and follow the syllabus, you will get an A. His website and the supplementary gives you everything you need. I didn't have to read the textbook because the classes included a lot of power point presentations and the notes were sufficient.
Dont listen to these republicans who say he can't teach. They are children because they are to stubborn to devote any time to his class. These are the of students who will never make it; Most likely to end up at a mall cell phone booth. He is perhaps the best economics instructor in the southeast. His real world approach to economics is fantastic.
Either I have a learning disability or this calss was HARD. However, I did learn alot. Just be willing to put in the recommended study hours and then some.
Excelent course. Very predictable format with adequete information in syllabus. Uses highly visualized lectures. You can not pull a genie out of your bum at the end of the course. Consistent effort is the trick to earn an A in this course. Before every exam there is an oppurtunity to clear up any confusion by handing him your question. Excellent
really hard but great power point
Took this class online. Overall the format was alright if you have some understanding of charts/graphs and can work through the material with no help. He is not helpful whatsoever and when asked a question seems to be put out and suggests you rethink taking the course. Do the reading and the work and keep your fingers crossed!
He knows what he is teaching but class is very hard. You need to study at least 10 a week.
He is just OK. Not great, not the worst. Doesn't appear to like emails from students, which I was bothered by - since it's his job. Some of the questions on tests/quizzes are NOT from the book, but rather from HIS powerpoint notes so be sure and study those.
I took this course online, and while I found it to be pretty tough (not being an economically-minded kind of guy), I still managed an A. Maybe it was just me, but some of the graphs and slides in his Powerpoint presentations were more confusing than helpful. Make use of that study guide that comes with the textbook. It helps a lot.
Not a great teacher for an online class, I took him 2 semesters in a row and thank goodness that is overwith! Test and quizzes are open book, but timed. Info comes from his powerpoint not from book. Sometimes the ppts don't make sense though - like some pieces of the puzzle are missing.
what a strange man. His lectures are sooo boring i seriously want to die. Has horrible jokes. His powerpoints are super confusing, not helpfull. But somehow toward the end he gives extra credit like its no ones business. I really thought i had a 65. but i had a b? strange?
Macro-I got an F in this class. Not because I didn't try because I did. He is a nice man but he is not a great teacher. I did all my work and still managed to get an F. I am now taking Micro Economics and I have an A in the class, my professor is amazing. I have learned loads of things in my class.
I don't understand why this professor thinks that he knows everything. He really don't know anything. Boring class and I dread going to his class. I don't like the clickers we use in the class.
Macro Economics is a difficult course for most people. Took the online-on campus 1 day per week hybrid course. Good teacher. If you don't understand basic economics I recommend taking live course and going to every class. Albritton is a smart prof, but you have to work at Macro Economics. Not easy stuff.
i managed to get a b in his class despite getting a 62 on the final. he gives a lot of extra credit, but his notes are terrible, and the tests once, we spent an entire class watching videos. if you ask him questions, he is very nice about it, and will answer your questions. do the work he assigns, and participate in class, it's most of the grade.
Took online MicroEconomics. Obviously with online work, you're teaching yourself most of the topics. He does post some audio and video pre-recorded presentations which help, but not for all topics. Good prof, but tough class sometimes. Do all homework, quizzes and discussions postings and you'll do fine. Likes questions on graphs alot.
Cannot understand a thing this professor wants - it's crazy. If you ask a question all you get is a referred back to the document that caused the question in the first place. Crazy kinds of deadlines - bizarre.
Good stinkin' luck! Be cautious of his "practice tests" etc. They are NOTHING like what are quizzed and tested. He assigns a particular chapters reading and then tests you on a different chapter material. I feel like this class is an exercise in futility, and I'm failing the "mind-reading" requirement of the class.
This class if very difficult and confusing online. The syllabus and course material do not go hand-n-hand. He will test on material that were not within the chapter, but the next. Too much extra reading required with multi-page handouts. Would not recommend online.
Honor's Seminar in Cross-Cultural Leadership. Really nice professor. However, his assignments are horribly vague. Only after the majority of the class completes their own (differing) interpretation of the assignment does he clarify his expectations. Also, at least five group projects in one semester...not everyone has that kind of availability!
This guy is one of the worst professors I've ever had. Took him for MicoEconomics online, This guy takes days to reply to an email and rarely answers the original question, won't help if confused about an assignment, exams and quizzes don't follow the chapter and has a love for graphs but won't teach you how to use them. DON'T TAKE THIS TEACHER
This prof is most impressed with his knowledge of macroecon; problem is he wasn't able to get the info across to me because he was unorganized in his syllabus & quizes. He quizzed with info that hadn't been presented yet. He is very fond of timed tests, allowing insufficient time to process the questions. I truly don't think he cares if you pass
A lot of the quizzes seem to not match with what we read. Were times when something was due online and when I logged on it is not available which had me waiting to get my homework done. Last homework my discussion assignment was missing and I still have not received a email back from him fixing the issue so I have now a 0% in my discussion
I went in thinking I would learn about cross cultural leadership because that's the class title. However, it was a complete unorganized mess of powerpoints that assisted him to ramble on ambiguously and not say much. If you ask him a question he wont really answer you. Expects very precise answers when he teaches SO vaguely.Worst class Ive ever had
Horrible teacher! Don't take him if your not really good at eco (macro). He does his own thing hop on or forget it.
He is the only teacher for online eco so I had to take him for both micro/macro. He makes no sense! Asks q's such as "The GDP for 2004-2006?" How am I supposed to answer that? He quizzes on chapters that have yet to be assigned. I understand eco, but cant decipher what he is asking. You have to pay to do extra credit. He can be rude. HORRIBLE PROF!
Many points to cover: 1)online course content EXTREMELY mis-organized. Syllabus refs things that are in the wrong weeks, every week. 2)Lecture notes 5-10 years old. 3)Questions on content answered vaguely and include condescending references to elementary content, i.e. "Maybe you should go back and read Chapter 1. 4)Very unbalanced workload per/wk.
Very difficult to understand, disorganized, his lectures are pointless, he doesn't write down anything on the board that you can translate into notes to study from. Ill probably end up with a B but I dont know how. I wounldnt recommend him to anyone. On a more positive note, he's not vindictive or a jerk, he tries, just not a good teacher.
If you are reading this, don't, JUST DON'T, take a class with him. The reviews, independent of what class that he is teaching, are scathing. He has little to say, but insists on rambling on and on about NOTHING. If you want to be more confused about a subject, take a class with him. If you want to be educated about a subject, take another teacher.
I had him for Micro and Macro. The Bad: He does not know how to teach very well. If you ask questions he trys to blow past them. He is VERY unorganized and teaching yourself from the textbook would be less confusing. I would advise to take a different professor. The good: He is a really nice guy and has a lot of extra credit.
Took the online class. Makes extra credit nearly impossible, and quizzes and homework assignments are mostly based on his own power points and "chapter in review" notes. Hardly even used my textbook, which explains why I barely learned anything. Answers e-mails within a day or two, but very short and not very friendly.
He is not a good teacher! Don't bother buying the book, he uses his own powerpoints. Attendance is mandatory as he uses "clickers" He is nice, but not helpful. He knows economics really well & assumes you should too. I think he would make a better economic advisor than a teacher! Only gives 2 tests & 2 quiz for term(20min timed)+ 1 article review
Horrible semester. I was very interested in this course and then I got him. He is all over the place and does not use the book just his own thoughts. DO NOT TAKE him if you are not unbelievably good at Economics already....please spare yourself the heartache of not passing!
Wow. This guy makes the class as hard as he can. Way harder then it needs to be. Find a different instructor. Nearly impossible online and I've worked in the economics field for years. By far the hardest class I've ever taken in college including 2 calculus classes, which I aced.
Took him for macro, horrible semester. I think this guy wants to make the class harder than it needs to be, tests are timed, some of them at a ridiculous 2 minutes per question to work out equations. Book is horrible and doesn't explain anything. I would google to find other economics teachers class notes which were great. worst teacher ever!
This is a HARD class; no doubt. Harder than anything else I've taken in 2 years at SCC. Prof Albriton knows his economics for sure but honestly, this class is better taken in-class than online. It's just too much online. He's as helpful as an online teacher can be. Extra credit was available (up to 4 points) and I ended up with an A- (92).
Terrible online teacher! Unorganized online course. If you do take this class, dont make the mistake of going by the modules he posts, ITS A TRICK! Go by the syllabus and read any and all little details because he hides instructions for his assignments for some reason. This guy cannot effectively teach an online course.
I honestly liked him and learned a lot. His tests are hard but they are open note, and book. He gives out a reasonable amount of extra credit and participation counts a lot so it defiantly helps. Out of the Econ teachers available at ssc id recommend him.
extra credit for going to class but you get around a C on the test unless you study really hard. Easy enough to pass to get an A would require some studying. Most likely easiest econ class at ssc.
AWFUL!!! Wouldn't help, didn't respond to emails, didn't show up during office hours. Take ANYONE else but him!
This is the most helpful teacher at scc when it comes to micro economics he gives alot of extra credit (there are 6 points of extra credit to your final grade on the connect website) he really gives you every chance to pass this class and if you fail honestly its your own fault
Lets cut to the chase, this class is going to be extremely hard if you don't take good notes and do MyEconLab homework. His lectures are very dry and very boring and to be honest, they will put you to sleep. Make sure you do well on the Mid-term and the Final, or else you will be doomed. He gives out a lot of extra credit, so don't be too sad!
All I can say is... He's a good teacher . I took both macro and micro class. He is awesome. I wish he teaches more class.... He's the best professor by far.....
Take him awesome class and awesome Professor. Open book quiz's and tests.
I am reading to take him because it's open book, how is that good? If you are an economics major, take him, but if you need the course to satisfy a need, then take someone else. course will be cryptic for those unfamiliar and feedback will be limited, expect a question to your questions, not an answer. I would give him a B
open book, does not help, 60min test, you have 2min a question and that book will not help. homework from connect is not even on the test. test questions seem to use words that leave too much room for subjective interpretation. 100 points total for the class, you will need the extra credit in the course, should not be that way , but it is
while he may not be the best with feedback, he is clear on what is expected of you in his class. if you do all of your work, then you should leave his class with a better than average grade. open book test is a supplement tool, would not rely on it to be your saving grace. if you don't know the material, open book will not help.
Short and honest as possible, the classroom portion is extremely easy, lectures are very plain with your attendance grade tied into his slideshow/multiple choice questions. The online portion and article review are what will snag your grade as he makes 100% accuracy mandatory for his homework assignments. Power through that and the class is easy.
If you utilize all the tools at your disposal and put some time and effort, it will be an easy A.
Lectures are boring, tests are open-notes. If you do the homework assignments and come to class, it's an somewhat easy-a.
Class is easy as long as you print out HIS powerpoints from sakai. The book isn't used BUT ECONLAB is required. DO NOT STRESS over the 2 article reviews paper,it is very easy, just look throughout the news and find a couple of articles related to each other and it should be a piece of cake. It doesn't even have to be about the US.
Probably one of the worst teachers I have had at SSC. If you enjoy business and economics DO NOT take this course. You won't be encouraged!
I just finished the final and received an A for the class. However, this is a professor I would steer clear of! Graphs are his life and he misses the basics of microeconomics. Look to another professor or. take the class somewhere else/
I got a B grade though I worked hard, I took it online and this professor is not an easy A type. Grades the Business Interview little bit strictly...If you want to just pass this class then it will be fine.
Professor is all business and moves through the concepts quickly. If you stay on top of the clicker questions, extra credit, and do the ECONlab assignments you will pass with a good grade even if you bomb the tests. However, the tests are tolerable since they are open book. Use a note sheet of the graphs and a definition page and you will do well.
I was terrified because of the reviews, but he's not so bad. Online class is pretty organized, you have to stay on your toes though. Some quizzes are easy, others are deeply confusing. Graphs everywhere. But everything is open book, open note, so preparation is key. I found his PowerPoints useless but the book is enough. Study and you'll be fine.
the theory of economics is interesting, lost a lot with graph overkill. Learned a lot from reading the book. No way an easy class. BUT if it was easy everyone would be doing it
I don't recommend taking this class online. Yes, it's open book/open note as exams are online, but unless you already are good at graphs, you'll want to be in a classroom. I had no idea what I was doing most of the time (with graphs) and struggled throughout the class. Take ON CAMPUS unless you're confident with graphs.
He wasn't helpful during class lectures. He teaches way too fast and doesn't help you one on one in order to understand. Worst teacher Ive ever taken at SSC. Wouldn't recommend taking him!!! worst teacher !
LOVED HIS PASSION AND THE CLASS STRUCTURE. HE IS WELL-QUALIFIED AND A GREAT PROFESSOR. REPEATING FOR MICRO!
Took it online. He is very detailed with his syllabus. However, if you ask him a question, his responses tend to be very generic and not detailed, and it is hard to understand what he means. All quizzes and tests (except for final) are taken at home. Homework is online and super easy, unlimited attempts, and key is provided after first attempt
Hes an awesome teacher that gives students a lot of chances for getting extra credit. like: clicker points, My ECONLAB, and his own homework... its an easy A. will take him again for Micro.
So there are a lot of graphs, that's not the problem. He is! He does not explain the material well. If you plan on passing the tests you really need to understand the concepts, open book is a joke! I passed the class with a low grade and took it again with another teacher to save my GPA. Save yourself the aggravation & steer clear of this guy!
Although he gives a lot of extra credit, it barely helps. Long boring monotoned lectures that are pretty much just pictures of graphs. Really bad at explaining things so you have to teach yourself the work during homework. Would not recommend taking him at all.
If you want a game show instead of a class, sign up here. Multiple choice questions in class for extra credit using "clickers" to answer. Tell me what I've won Johnny! What? A lower GPA? Yes, that's right! Confusing lectures, and test questions that have far more to do with seeing whether you watched the videos than if you understood the concepts.
Professor Albritton gives every opportunity for those who do the assigned reading and watch the videos. The extra credit available made the difference of a full letter grade for me. He tells you what he expects of you so there are no surprises. I would take him again for another class.
He is a good professor, gives a lot of extra credit on purpose because his exams are really hard.
Easy A class if you have good attendance. More regurgitating information, lectures are boring. Does not explain very well since he is so familiar with economics himself. Very neutral and strict type of guy.
This class is Torture.... that's the best way i can describe my experience
This was one of those classes where if you're intelligent and focused you'll do fine but if you're lazy and not-so-smart you'll struggle and blame the professor. Lectures are long and boring what else do you expect though? We had 2 quizes and 2 exams quizes are really easy exams were hard but there's tons of extra credit to keep your grade up.
He is the worst professor I have even taken. If you ask him for help on a problem, he will just restate the instructions. The answers on the test were just a guessing game unless you are an expert on graphs.
The worst teacher I've ever taken. No help, tough grader, a little extra credit options. If you don't get 100% on the hw, he will put it in as a 0. Tests were hard and reviews didn't help. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Uses a lot of video material in quizzes & exams. There was not a clear understanding (or at least for me) of all the formulas needed to complete the graphs. I usually hold a "A" in my classes. This one was a "D". So I'm not happy with my grade. There were times I was in tears over the assignments. I didn't need this class for my current degree.
At first it didn't seem like that hard of a class. The material is challenging in this class. The quizzes, mid-term, and final focus on a lot of the videos you watched and not so much on the actual material you learned. I had no problems with the Homework, paper or extra credit. There was no info given about what to expect on the mid-term and final
I agree with all of the comments said below... The paper had me in tears.. so start as soon as possible. You have to be in class. The clicker questions / points in every class help your grade tremendously. i didn't use the book. this was taken as an elective... his lectures are mind boggling. what he says and teaches makes no sense to the test.
By far the worst teacher I've ever had. Classes are more excruciating than watching paint dry and his class policies are absolutely ridiculous. Attendance is very mandatory. The type of guy that takes away participation points for checking the time on your phone if you know what i mean. The smart kids are the ones who drop the course after day one.
Lectures could put you to sleep. Whatever he teaches in class, won't be on the test because he talks in circles and expects you to pull magic out of his words. His tests are insanely difficult. Homework is hard to understand and makes you want to cry. Doesn't offer much help when you ask for it. If you still have time to drop this class DO IT
In retrospect, he wasn't too bad of a professor. You do, however, need to have strong test taking skills in order to pass with an A or B despite the fact that all of the tests are open note. Attendance is mandatory and he doesn't assign too much homework at all. Overall, not a horrible class to take because he is clearly very knowledgeable.
Lectures are boring so is his voice, makes you feel like a idiot so you don't want to ask questions. clicker questions are a part of your grad, you have to work for every single point. Hardest thing in the class was the article paper. Quizzes you take one by yourself and then the same quiz with a group of kids.
Dr. Albritton is a very good economics professor! He is a leading professor in the United States and around the World! He has lived the life, talked the talk and walked the walk. I do not understand how someone could not pass at least half of his open book quizzes or exams. He is a very very solid choice. I didn't have much background in Economics.
Took this as an online class. I'd email him for help or clarification and get one sentence in response which was no help. I've taken quite a few online classes b4 and none of my professors were as unhelpful and uncaring as him. His lectures are also outdated and extremely boring.
Great professor with a wry sense of humor. That being said, he expects you to pay attention and perform well in his class. He offers ample extra credit both in economic theory and history. This extra credit can weigh as much as an entire letter grade. Inversely, he speaks with a monotone voice and will penalize you for using your phone.
I'm here because I was amazed at the professor's response rate and clarity. I e-mailed in the evening; surprised to see a response the next morning. Someone posted that this professor was not helpful; I can't disagree more. The responses were very specific to topics I should have focused on to have gotten a better grade. Should be ranked higher.
I took time out of my day just to rate how horrible this professor was so this should say something. He is the worst professor ever don't ever waste your time on taking him. He is sooo boring lecture after lecture which you learn nothing from. You can't take notes because there is nothing to learn. I could barely last the whole class.
RUN!! HORRIBLE PROFESSOR!! Don't ever skip class cause he grades you on participation EVERYDAY. His homework is online and is 100x harder and soooo in depth with things you never even learn. Slides/txtbook are not helpful at all. Quizzes/tests are like the homework but 150% harder. Gives extra credit that's worth .5 points and do nothing 4 ur grade
Took This class in Fall 2018 ECO2023 online and the course was challenging, very lecture heavy and participation matters in this class, I passed with a B only due to homework, written assignments and extra credit provided. If you learn by reading, this class is right for you, if not it will be a struggle.
I honestly didn't have a problem with the professor, just the lack of instruction. I didn't get a strong understanding of the subject matter. He did allow the midterm to be taken on ProctorU and had no requirements for the final which made taking it easy. You need to be able to study on your own for this class with this professor.
Prof. is very smart! If you don't plan to show up to class you wont pass easily. Hes a nice guy and will give you everything you need to succeed. I would recommend reading the chapters along with his lectures. This isn't an easy course to pass no matter who your professor is but if you show up and do the reading you will be golden!
Professor Albritton will put you to sleep. His lectures are slow and he speaks in a monotone. I am a STEM major taking advanced classes and this is the only one that is tripping me up. He is not a good teacher and it is quite obvious he is not a fan of mine. He seems like an alright man personally, but his teachings will kill you.
You have to have a good foundation of economics to understand his lectures. He makes you look dumb when you ask a question. I did not learn one thing the whole semester. Do yourself a favor and take Prof Wells if you don't want to fall asleep during lectures and want a prof who is genuinely friendly.
Prof. Albritton is a classic old school teacher. Sure, he's stern and strict but he's no Miss Trunchbull! Yes, you must do all your homework and quizzes. If you have an understanding of economics, most of what you'll learn in this class is pretty much common sense. The tests and essay projects are not that hard either but they're tedious.
Great professor, I had him for both ECO2013 and ECO2023 online and I loved his class. He offers a lot of resources and videos if you don't understand the concepts and there's also a lot of extra credit. The workload isn't too bad and the class is relatively easy if you read the material and watch the videos he provides.
This professor was the worst professor I took since I started college, he makes the class extra hard for no reason, his lectures are very heavy, and graded harshly. This class has 10 Homeworks (multiple choice), 6 quizzes, 2 tests (proctored), one final essay, and a couple of extra credit assignments. Overall I had to work really hard for my grade.
There were only about 2 assignments/week but, they strictly made no sense. When he grades, he offers n clear feedback and is just blatantly rude. Economics is not a good class to take online and if it weren't for SSC offering no in person, I would've never taken this. My only ever feedback was, "as you can see there are many issues with your paper"
I am not finished with this course yet, but I only have three weeks left. So far, I have a 104% average. He offers up to 9 points of extra credit in a 90 point total class. There aren't too many assignments. I like econ so that might have effected my experience. Overall he's a good prof.
I took two of Professor Albritton's economics courses and both were structured in the exact same manner. The classes are very organized and straight to the point. There are powerpoints, open note homework, and quizzes, as well as a midterm and final. There is a paper that is due but it is straight to the point on what you will be graded on.
Holy cow this class was hard. The chapters are long and often boring. There is a tough quiz and homework too at the end of every week. Take this class if you have time to devote to studying.
If you ever see this man's name as an option to take, don't take this guy. He is the worst professor I've ever taken. This man doesn't do anything to help you and wants you to fail. The "quizzes" don't have anything to do with the textbook readings. Save yourself the trouble and don't take this horrible professor.
The homework/quizzes were done on Cengage. There is only one business interview assignment due besides that which is the hardest part. Midterm and final exams are open note but you have to write it all down on 1 sheet of paper. Overall, not a bad professor.
Professor Albritton was responsive and an overall decent teacher. The class was tough but there were plenty of great opportunities for extra credit. Overall he was a good professor.
The material wasn't super easy to follow, but as long as you read the textbook, do all of the homework, and take advantage of the motherload of extra credit offered, it should be simple to complete this class with a passing grade. This course uses cengage for the homework/quizes and respondus for the midterm/final. This prof. gives generous curves.
He was not bad, anytime I emailed he got back quickly. But if you don't like power points pick a different teacher. Costs 145$ to access the work which is ridiculous considering tuition is 300$. The textbook is useless, and the notes and homework often don't Aline with the quizzes. Homework is really easy though but would look for a diff teacher.
I decided to ignore the reviews on RMP and take this prof. anyways, and i regret taking his class. Homework, quiz and reading assignments weekly. 2 exams that are proctored and an article review paper that is worth 10% of your final grade. Everything is done on cengage except exams. Worst professor i have ever had, do not take eco with him.
This class was terrible. Cengage is used for homework and quizzes, there's usually one of each per week with an occasional discussion post. There are PowerPoints and videos that go over the chapters, but none of which actually have anything to do with anything especially in the later chapters. There is also two exams and very strictly graded paper.
Pretty easy material. Uses cengage for all homework and quizzes. He only posted PDF's of the textbook for you to learn the material so I don't recommend him if you actually want to learn macro. Only 4 participation assignments, 2 tests, and 1 final paper. He is very specific with how he grades so pay attention to rubrics and instructions.
He was the last professor I would've taken for Macro. Extremely reading heavy and the powerpoints provided are not enough to summarize all of the material. One of his lectures was from 2008, so if you are looking for recent material to be covered, there is not much provided. Participation assignments can tank your grade. Look for another prof.
Class wasn't all that hard, Homework and Test due Sunday and there's basically no other work. Some essay due towards the end but you've gotta be slow not to do decent on it. Lockdown browser on exams only downfall low key. Orange520blog, use this for the class btw.
I thought his class was pretty decent. I was able to do the work and get his feedback without really needing any one on one emails or communication with him. The class is a little tough and some assignments were pretty hard. But overall it was ok. If you have take this class it's doable and he's not that bad. :-)
The class material can be tricky, but staying on top of the weekly homework, quizzes, and reading the textbook will go a long way. Participation assignments can impact your grade, so engage in class. Unstuckstudy was really helpful for preparing for exams.
Makes no sense when grading, waste of a class to be honest.
Be ready to be thrown around in circles. Very tough class with a very tough grader, although he does provide feedback on grades like participation assignments and the article review towards the end of the semester. Allows a cheat sheet for exams however, exams are nothing like quizzes or lectures.
Albritton is okay. He's a strict grader. He won't extend deadlines, however, he gives a generous amount of extra credit. Also there's no lockdown browser on the Cengage quizzes, but on the midterm and final, you need the lockdown browser as well a webcam. He allows makeups, but at the SSC testing center. Do your work in this class and you'll be ok.
Great professor. Generous with extra credit! He doesn't do late work, and he's a little tough, but you can learn something......I think he's great.
