You are held responsible for everything in the reading, as obscure references show up on tests.
The summer classes with him are good. He has you do a project on a National Park...that is a great opportunity to get out and do something fun! Watch out though, hes highly opinionated!
Dr. ALduino holds great class discussions. If you are too conservative, you may become uncomfortable.
Great teacher. Class is Fun

Dr. Aluino does a very good job of relating history to the present. If we do not learn from history we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes.
Professor Alduino is really great because he makes learning interesting. He tries to be smug which is cute and annoying at the same time. Even though he denies it, I know he's a diehard democrat. If you're a right-winger, watch out!

Professor Aldunio, is a great teacher! He gets the class involved and makes his students think. He is very opinionated and not all of his opinions about Democrats and Italians are necessarily truthful, so don't be afraid to be Republican or Conservative
Dr Alduino is highly opinionated, but lots of fun. I have never enjoyed history so much. Where else, for 60 bucks per credit, can you get not only an excellent history lesson, 2 days per week, for a semester, but a daily weather report as well?

Enthusiastic. Not afraid to offer/express his opinion on a subject; means to stimulate discussion. Always solicits the opinion of class members. Makes "things" interesting.
Great teacher. Dem, believes he knows everything. only 4 grades. best for history at aacc.
HE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD!! HE IS SO ROCK HARD AND HILARIOUS!!
Great teacher, very funny. Would recommed to anyone who wants to take a hisory class.
Dr. Alduino is one of if not the best teacher I have ever met. He is understanding, and despite his dislike of New Jersey, he manages to teach it as one of the Thirteen Colonies. He also gives very accurate weather reports, better than the meteorologists.
HILARIOUS! One of the funniest people I have ever met. There are some people who were made to teach. He is one of them. He lectures with confidence and credibility. Without a doubt one of the 5 best teachers I've ever had in my life.
i dont know exactly ho Prof. Alduino go such good ratings the last test we took he hardly covered any of the material he was to bust talking about how great italian americans are
I had Alduino a couple semesters ago. He is without a doubt the best professor I have ever had. He taught me a lot--not only about history, but just about life in general. I really enjoyed him and I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Interesting and knowledgable, willing to offer an opinion on just about anything under the sun, loathes NJ,big florida state man, once opely called Ocean City "the redneck riviera." Only bad thing is his ridiculously die hard liberalism
Would be a good teacher if not for the political commentary. "young" people are impressionable and telling them what they should think without giving them a full list of reasons is inappropriate.
Excellent Instructor! As for the "political commentary" and "diehard liberalism", it's good to see someone exposing "young" people to something other than the warmongering and religion/greed based politics of the current admi
He's very knowledgable about the subject matter, and has a sense of humor, but his blatently rediculous liberal comments are beyond innapropriate. Whats worse is that he teaches his liberal views as facts. He needs to keep his editorial views to himself.
very good teacher...interesting class
Great teacher! Even right wing morons can learn something about democracy here.

Great teacher - not boring and monotone like some history profs can be. He injects a lot of his own opinions, but it keeps the class light and fun and keeps it from getting boring. Tests are not too bad, but you do have to read the book and study.
very passionate about history. extremely enthusiastic. emphasizes student participation. I would take another class from this professor.
Good teacher, likes what he does. Gives you the essay questions before the test. There were only 3 tests and 1 paper that determined our grades in my class. So, if you like that he's your man.
He's cool and makes class fun. Plus he says a lot of curse words when he talks and gets very heated over topics and goes on long rants about nothing.
He is like a cheesy car sales man. If he stayed on subject the tests would be easier.
I took HIS 211 with him in the summer of 2004.Worst instructor, I have ever had.Biased,****,prejudice, and unfair with the people from other culture.Mostly jealous with an international students career and success.Sometimes take you off the track from the course material ,and talk the dum stuff.
Easiest teacher I had; he was very informed...he definitely knows what he's talking about. The only thing I didn't like was that he gives no homework so you're graded based on 3 tests, that's it. Term paper idea sucked too.
Theres not one second of leeway during class. It consists of 1hr and 15mins of him spouting facts, which you must take notes on to do well on the tests. He doesn't give a study sheet for them, so you have no idea whats on tests if you don't read the book. Hard to keep up with having 3 other classes.
your entire grade consists of 3 tests, all of which will****you.****is the idle word here, because you grade is forcibly ripped away from you. Seriously... after the first test you won't be able to sit down to study for the next because your **** hurts so badly
Not easy to get "A" if you fail the first exam. Each exam is 30% include 50% essay, 40% multi. and 10% map. Also, he doesn't cover all the chapters but its show up on the exam. you should study really hard by yourself.
you pretty much had to guess at what would be on the tests because he never got through the chapters. it took him 3 classes one time to get through one chapter. your whole grade is based on 3 tests and a term paper so if you mess up on one test youre pretty much screwed

Stay away, this guy sucks!!!

I love history, and he explains it well and his personality is not bland like some history professors, he doesn't put me to sleep, he keeps me interested, he also says little facts about his personal experiences, which are interesting, he is very informative
i love this class and alduino is hilarious
very interesting, it was like listening to the history channel (in a good way). knows his stuff and fills you in on all the interesting tid bits of history you can't read in your text. you need to study if you want a good grade. and don't insult italians.
I got a C and I'm going to take it and run because we lost about 75% of the class after the 2nd exam. The book will do you no good. Come to class, take good notes, and pray that he covers everything in class (he may not).
Professor Alduino is an amazing professor. He knows his stuff and will help you whenever you need it. He's done so many things with his life it amazes me that he is so young. By his age I hope to have done what he has been able to accomplish. He's funny and makes history great and interesting!
he's a good teacher and his class was interesting. he makes you do a 10 page paper for history 212. he's a tough grader.
Hot! Hot! Hot! This man is gorgeous, witty and brilliant! The total package! If only he weren't married! (****sigh****)
he is definitely hot and an awesome teacher who is brilliant and expects nothing less than the best. Won the teacher of the year award. He is amazing both looks and brains.
great professor, i plan on taking him again if possible.
absolutely love this man! best history teacher i've had in a very long time. dedicated and passionate about his work. he's very intelligent and i love the way he talks. nothing is better than an italian-american who loves what he does. it's impressive how many little details he knows. he talks fast, so bring a tape recorder or learn shorthand...
Prof. Alduino helps make History interesting. He is the ideal professor to have for History and non-history majors.
When he shows up he is a very good teacher, he makes class fun and interesting with his knowledge of the material. You don't need to read the book in order to pass, but you need to, to get an A. He's not the best History teacher, but he's very good.
he is an excellent teacher, all you have to do is take notes off of his lectures, and study the essay questions, he is really funny and he makes history very exciting, and tells the stories of history with such enthusiam, very good teacher. you get 5 extra credit points for having a voters card
Awesome guy, talks very clearly, and in great detail. Funny. Has a tendency to go off on tangents, but is very effective at relating current events to history. Making it a very intelligent and rewarding experience overall. He assigned a term paper, but the topic made in the form of an oral history, but it was easy and even fun to work on
Professor Alduino was probably one of the best History professors I've ever had. He keeps the class interesting but can tend to expect you to know answers to his questions. It's a must to take notes during his class. He gives you the essays for the tests ahead of time so it's stupid to not do well.
Show up to class and the book becomes useless. Took him for 212 and didnt even buy the book (managed a high B). Exams are multiple choice, gives 5 possible essay questions, puts 3 on the test, write about 1 of them. HILARIOUS dude. Single-handedly made me want to minor in history and teach someday. Makes me miss AACC sometimes. TAKE HIM.
Incredible teacher. Knows the material very, very well. Showing up for class and paying attention are usually enough prep for tests and exams. One small paper required, nothing to worry about though.
to the left, to the left.
Nice guy. Passionate about what he teaches. His left-sided views may make convervative students cry, just a word of warning. You must study. Textbook is practically useless. Show up and take notes. Managed a high B but wasn't the easiest grade I have ever earned.
as a history major, i found frank to be one of the best history teachers ive had in a while. he is a funny guy and absolutely loves what he does. cares about the students and makes coming to class(even at 8 am) very enjoyable. textbook use is low and his tests are fairl easy. one of the easiest classes ive taken and with a great professor
I took a summer class with him. He is a great teacher overall. Makes the material interesting and very funny. Two things to be forewarned about, though: he has an open political left bias, and the textbook is boring as hell. But I would encourage most people to take a class with him.
I had Professor Alduino for American Government this summer. His class was challenging. We had weekly discussions (that must include citations), a 5-7 page paper on politics, and 17 tests w/about 25 questions each (inc. essays). The work was difficult but he was fair with his grading system.
Great History Professor. Really knows his stuff. If you pay attention to his lectures and read the book, easy A. Only complaint about his lectures is that he loves to give his political views on everything.
I had Frank summer '07 and absolutely loved him! he cares alot abot his students and tries to hand you an A. Again it was summer, so im not sure how he is during the school year. BUT he is a great teacher, funny, and his tests are pretty easy. Recommend him highly:)
This man is hands down full of himself. His course syallbus should state Course Objectives "To inform the class of the Professors view on 1865 to present history. O and Flordia State sucks
Yes, Dr. Alduino is rather outspoken, but unless you're terribly sensitive it shouldn't really be an issue. He is an excellent teacher. The course is graded based on 3 major tests, as well as a term paper. The final is test 3, and it is not cumulative. Read the book, and don't rely on his spelling. He moves too fast to always be accurate.
GREAT TEACHER! makes discussions very interesting, he is funny and one of the best teachers I have had!! I had him for US history, 3 tests and 1 paper, not bad.. VERY great class I recommend his class to anyone.
Very passionate professor, though history is not my favorite thing in the world, I would definitely recommend him...he does tend to argue his POV though, it's amusing.
He is a very liberal teacher, but he is really funny at the same time. He has a bad habit of still making fun of Bush and Cheney even though they're out of office, and that gets quite annoying. He lectures really good information and doesn't say anything that isn't relevant to the subject.
no acceptance on late work, read the book and your fine although his notes from lecture are useful study tools, has a... habit of yelling in class and does not let up on your grade as far as rounding, i.e. if your in the X9th percentile your grade is that corresponding bracket- no rouund up-bummer
i thought he was a horrible teacher. if you know alot about history as i do you will immediatly notice his liberal bias. he tends to twist history as most liberals do in his favor. If you are looking for a teacher that is unbiased, not him. oh and if you answer a question on a test and its not in aggreance with his view u will get it wrong.
He is a very interesting teacher. If you do the reading you'll do fine. Some people may think you have to agree with his views to get a good grade that but that isn't true, you just have to be able to intelligently support your opinion... which I would say is true of most professors. His test contain 1 essay and most are NOT opinion questions. Thos
To begin, the man knows his stuff. He conveys it entertaining, albeit liberal ways. He will make conservative students (such as myself) cringe. If you can take a course of his, do take it. He isn't a professor who tries to fail students. He also is the not the typical definition of an academic. He is funny and outgoing.
I have mixed feelings about Frank. Being liberal is one thing and being bias is another but this man is a little rediculous. I submitted my term paper which took me 9 weeks to write (a beautiful paper btw) and he gave me a 60 on it which impacted my grade severly.
He was great! Always kept me interested and made history entertaining
just read the book. its all in there.
Frank knew his stuff and conveyed it to his students very well. His extremely liberal views got annoying at times but provided more humor than annoyance. Not an easy class but you certainly have the ability to do well. Take great notes, read the book, and study and you should be fine. (taking great notes means showing up to class)
This teacher is horrible! The opinions he states,I find offensive and he needs to keep them to himself. He does not prepare you for his tests. You do have to read the book because the two hour lectures he gives, none of the information is on the test.Do not take his class, you will not be happy. My entire class agrees and they all hate him!
I can't believe people are slamming Professor Alduino. Sure he is liberal! Get over it. Everyone is entitled to their own political views. If you can't stand it, drop it and take someone else. You will learn loads and he is hilarious and is more than willing to help out students. Ever heard of office hours? Visit him. Dr. Alduino is awesome.
Very understanding and fair grader, really wants your participation in the class. If you don't do well in his class, it's because you didn't study. Listen to his lecture, it is on the test, and you will pass.
Great professor! Must listen to his lecture, it's on the test. If you don't pass his class, you have not studied. Very fair grader, wants your participation in the class, highly recommend him.
Excellent, excellent professor. I am not anywhere near Italian and had no problem communicating with him. Very fair grader, wants to help his students, you do have to read and study your notes. Very important to listen to his lectures, it's all in the book.
Perfect. Clear about what he expected, forgiving, text book helps alot but you only have to read like 1 page a day. Small book. Not much homework except reading. One essay that you decide what its on. Interesting points of view and funny.
terrible
Don't listen to the people who give this guy a bad rating. This professor's class is very easy and he is there to help you if you ask. He is very generous with his grading, all you must do is put in the effort and do the work.
All you have to do is show up to class and take notes. This guy is very interesting and knowledgeable.
This class is really a hard one! I do NOT reccomend taking this class at all! He is the type of teacher that if you do not understand something, he will make you feel like an idiot! He is also VERY bias when it comes to his political opinion. in short, do NOT take this class!
TERRIBLE! Your grade is only based off of 4 grades the entire semester. 3 tests which are extremely hard, and a ter, paper which is extremely POINTLESS. He's a jerk. He doesn't even care if his students do well or not. I'm never taking another class with him. I read the material did OKAY on the tests and got a C on the term paper, but ended up with
Overall, I enjoyed my online Political Science class with Dr. Alduino. Look, I failed to see any of the aforementioned liberal bias. I have many stances that buck the progressive agenda. Still, I got an "A". To do well in this class, you have to dedicate at least 3-5 hours a week. That's not unreasonable for a 3 credit college course.

Wonderful teacher! He is super funny and actually sparked my interest in history! He always has hilarious stories and is always willing to help. All though I think he should give more grades since his course only contains 4 grades. But you will do well if you listen to his lectures and read the textbook.
I would really encourage everyone to not take this class! He has zero interest in helping and guiding his students; I would actually think he wants his students to fail. His grading is nonsense and he doesn't bother to communicate other than to be sarcastic with you. PLEASE! Don't take any class with this professor; he doesn't deserve this job!
Dr. Alduino is extremely self-important, but he wants his students to succeed. With only four grades, I was nervous about getting an A. Make sure you start reading the text a few days before the test because he likes to put in some questions on the exam never discussed in class.
This professor is very liberal and can sometimes be sarcastic, but he is fair and if you ask for help he will give you the time freely. He obviously has a strong opinion on history. I did enjoy his class. Go into his classroom with a sense of humor and an understanding that if you listen and take great notes, he actually gives you all the answers.
You will get an A in his class as long as you go to most and pay attention. He always covers the information that is on his tests. Some is from the textbook but he will let you know. And the textbook is inexpensive. He is a very helpful prof and the classes are interesting. There is a term paper but you can cover whatever interest you.
he is an amazing professor, it gains your interest so much into the material. I dont even need to take notes because i remember every word he says because he makes me be in love with the subject
Great Professor!! Attend class and take notes! He does ask questions so read the book. I would take any of his classes!
Dr. Alduino is a great professor! His lectures are extremely interesting! Dr. Alduino cares about his students! He helps you to prepare for his tests. He gives you the essay questions for his tests, so that you have time to prepare. Three of the five essay questions appear on the test! Show up, work hard, and you will get an A! He rocks!
I don't know why, but I really didn't like him. He seemed full of himself. The course was not easy, and the book was used constantly.
He is extremely hilarious, very engaged, and a pretty nice guy but I am not 100% fond of him. He doesn't give any notes, he just lectures (like most teachers). But if you learn visually I do not recommend him, he is quite hard to follow.
Dr. Alduino is probably one of the funniest guys i have ever met in my life, he was so helpful all the time and if you are reading this blog i would tell you to sign up for one of his classes right now, i feel so much more involved in becoming a college student thanks to him and so glad that i chose history as my major
He was an ok professor. He doesn't hand out any notes or anything. He just lectures. He jumps around a lot which makes it difficult to follow along.
I found Dr. Alduino to be a great professor! You do need to read the text because he will place questions on the exams from the text. The book for my class was helpful because it has a whole online study section with quizzes and study guides that I found helpful. He is a fast talker and I found it highly helpful to record the lectures.
Class was completely online -no testing center. Read the book and complete writing assignments and you'll do fine.
Really nice guy! Discussions and tests are easy if you read the chapters and take the time to write the essays and discussions. I recommend his class.
Easy to listen to but hard to follow on tests. Lectures all over the place.
Dr. Alduino is an awesome history professor. The lectures are extremely easy to listen to and he also makes it entertaining. A very proficient lecturer, he can just talk for the entire class about history on an understandable level. Read the textbook before every test and do the study guides and his class is easy. One of the best teachers I've had!
Pro. Alduino class may had some substance to it, but his guidelines were confusing and instructions weren't always clear. If you are a veteran student then you might have the expectations and aptitude for this course, but overall his class is not online or new student friendly. It's a tough course with a smart instructor, but not for basic interest
If you are taking HIS-112 online there is no excuse not to get an A. Period. Tests are simple and if you don't know it, the answers are direct from the book or study outline. Any writing sections are graded easily if the question is answered. So glad I took this over the summer so it didn't get in my way of my Major
Professor Alduino was an excellent professor. Even for an online course, he was extremely helpful, clear, and the class was interesting. I forgot an assignment was due on a particular date and he worked with me to remedy that situation. He appreciates your opinions as long as you express them clearly. Definitely recommended!
I took both these courses concurrently over the winter term which was 11 days long. The work load was 6-7 hours per day because of how accelerated they were. That being said Dr. Alduino made both courses very doable. He graded essays and writings leniently and would respond to e-mails within 24 hours. Got A's in both courses. Definitely recommend.
Not really a good person and very hard to deal with. He rather tell about his thoughts and ideas and why there better then yours vs. teaching us the subject matter. Again the subject is second place while having his philosophy and why it's right is first. Just overall a difficult person to deal with and has no substance to the classroom. Just bad.
He is not helpful what-so-ever, and even though my class was online, I could tell he hated me. He never helped me, and basically told me to figure things out on my own. He was about to give me a 0% on my term paper because he didn't see my name on it... I do not recommend him as a teacher.
If you pay attention and write down everything he says and study you should do fine. Tests are difficult ,but he gives you essay in advance. Research paper and only 3 tests total
Great professor, don't know why there any bad reviews about this professor. Makes history understandable and fun to learn.
Attendance is absolutely necessary in order to pass. Don't worry about the textbook too much, because most of his exams are based on the lectures. Only 2 exams a term paper and a final. ZERO homework through the whole semester! Also he's very lively and active, so his lectures are very interesting and entertaining.
So coming into this class I thought it'd be an easy show up and get an A, boy was I wrong. I had never really liked history but his lectures and the class discussions quickly added to my excitement to be at every class and left me hating that it was over. His tests were hard but he gave you everything you needed to pass. All you need is STUDY!
He is always clear on what he wants and responds in a timely manner. He is strict but will work with you if need be. There is A LOT of reading in these courses. You WILL read the entire textbook among other assignments. Overall, tough classes but fairly easy if you just focus, read, and follow instructions. I would take it again!
Dr. Alduino is an amazing professor. If you find history boring, he will certainly change your mind. He's energetic and interesting. He's all around great! If you don't read, pay attention, or go to class then you will probably have a hard time passing but if you do all of these then you should pass. He's a really cool guy. I loved having him!
This online course is mostly tests and one monster essay at the end. Weird grading feedback, very short and unclear. Usually a pretty easy grader though. Grades assignments within 24 hours or less.
Professor Alduino is best professor that i have ever had in college. Every one of his lectures was entertaining and interesting. Tests were not bad if you paid attention in class and he gave the the essay question in advance. I would definitely take this class.
Alduino is such a fun teacher to listen to, while he may be very opinionated he'll listen to your opinions as well. I HATE history but he made it worth while to listen. He knows what he expects from you and honestly it exams and a paper, it isn't tough at all. He's great, kind of wish I needed more history credits so I can take him again.
If you study and complete assignments, there's know way you can fail this course. When completing exams give more than enough feedback on questions.
If you study and complete assignments, there's know way you can fail this course. When completing exams give more than enough feedback on questions. Do not get behind in exams, do them as requested!
This is a good teacher. I did it online so there were a lot of discussions and exams that were due by a certain date but there is ample enough time to get them done. They are real easy once you read the material. Easy A. Take him and you will see.
I am graduating from AACC this spring semester 2016 and Frank Alduino's history class that I took my very first semester in 2014 was the most interesting and pleasurable class I've ever taken. He brings American history alive with interesting, funny, and insightful anecdotes of our past. Thanks Prof. A --A Daughter of the American Revolution
Absolute worst professor I've ever encountered. He does not give sufficient feedback, respond promptly to email, or respect his students. 10/10 would NOT recommend.
Everything done online. Breakdown: 16 exams, 1 weekly discussion every week, and 1 paper. Want an A? Read text. Take detailed notes. Answer the review questions in the book. Don't delay exams take them early. Visit term paper site early. Write term paper early. Get paper reviewed by writing center. Revise. Submit. The here key is to not be lazy.
I truly feel that I was being punished for having slightly right wing political views. The essay questions were regularly about divisive social topics and he several times subtract 10 points from each question without saying what I did wrong. When asked he either ignored me or left a vague response like "FDR did many more things than you said"
I didnt realize that you werent allowed to take more than one quiz per day, as an online class, and if you do he fails you on both of them so my A quickly turned into a low C right before the semester ended so i was stuck with my grade.
I had him for an online class and he is easily the worst teacher I have ever had. While I did not actually see him in class, his ego and sense of arrogance was apparent through his grading and the few emails he actually responded to of mine. He really has no sense of empathy or care for others and I hope that he improves his teaching style and ego.
Does not communicate in a timely manner or in a coherent matter relevant to the situation. Requires extra effort (and sometimes, money in terms of meeting his requests of museums, etc) to complete a relatively simple course that requires reading and reciting Pretentious attitude, tests were full of typos and phrased vaguely.
This prof. is attentive, great with feedback and timely. His requirements are all in the syllabus. If you don't read the syllabus then you will mess up something. He is great. I had him for two classes.
This prof. is attentive, great with feedback and timely. His requirements are all in the syllabus. If you don't read the syllabus then you will mess up something. He is great. I had him for two classes. The only downside was I took both classes at the same time and the term papers are due within a week of each other. Great teacher.
I took online class with him was very horrible experience. the only people rating high were traditional class people. the online people doest have it easy at all. you can't take 2 quizzes in a day. and to write stupid 2 essays at the end, have to go to museum and write about it. if you're doing online class don't take him. or during summer
Professor Alduino does make you work for your grade, but that is to be expected. I enjoyed his classes. I also took him for PLS111. If you set a schedule for yourself and follow it the class is easy enough to handle. If you fall behind and don't take the quizzes regularly then you will fall behind. You are only allowed 1 quiz per day.
Professor Alduino does make you work for your grade, but that is to be expected in any college course. Set a schedule and follow it, then the class is easy enough to handle. Do not fall behind or you will have a hard time getting back on track. You are only allowed 1 quiz per day, don't try to take two or you will get a 0 for both.
I have had Professor Alduino for HIS 211 and 212. He cares about participation and is really good at including the class in the lectures and is interested in your opinions. He is an easier grader than he portrays. While reading the textbook is helpful, his tests usually go off of his lectures more. He is very opinionated but hilarious. Wonderful.
I took this class for American Government. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE SYLLABUS! The exams are long and hard, but if you put in the work you are rewarded. The term paper is tough, I put in 110% and only pulled a C. But the exams more than made up for it. Be thorough. Honestly this was my favorite class last semester.
This was my first online class and I do not regret it. Professor Alduino is very strict when it comes to his syllabus so make sure you read very thoroughly. If you do the discussions and take the tests on time it's definitely an easy A. He's a great professor and I would definitely take him again.
I took HIS 212 online and really enjoyed it. His lesson plan is organized and well laid out in Canvass. I always knew what was expected of me from day one. There a lot of quizzes and they each include two essay questions, but they're not that hard as long as you keep up with the reading (there's a lot). Easy "A" if you work hard and read the book.
Professor Aldunio is a great Professor! He clearly states what he expexts from his students in the syllabus on the very first day of classes. Therefore, if you follow the guidelines and complete your work then you are guaranteed to earn a decent grade in the class. This was a very easygoing class and I was able to learn so much.
Dr Alduino may have his quarks, but he is still is an Ideal History Professor. His Lectures are captive and he is realy funny. He has inspired me to follow in his footsteps and become a History Professor as well. Overall, his classes are easy to understand and getting an A is easy as long as you get there everyday and put work into it.
Dr. Alduino looks like a hard teacher but honestly took two of his courses and passed both with an A. As long as you answer the discussion post and do good on the quizzes its an easy A. The only bad thing was that everything was due as noon not midnight so do not wait until last minute to complete tests or discussions!!
Lots of reading and quizzes to do.
Dr. Alduino fantastic! Online accelerated class was challenging but like others stated, READ SYLLABUS THOROUGHLY and DO NOT BE LAZY! I enjoyed term paper req of visiting a historical location - be creative & plan out assignments early! Do Writing Lab early! Plan ahead! NOT a prof for slackers or lazy people! Quickly grades, emails and is helpful!
I absolutely loved professor Alduino. I had him for both History part 1 and Political Science online classes. I had to work for my grades, but also learned a lot about politics and America. I am an older student (55+) and have to work a little harder than most, professor Alduino was positive with his feedback and understanding when I needed help!
If I ever meet a more conceited professor, the world will END. I don't understand why he thinks he is the be all end all of college, and intellectual equal to Einstein. He doesn't know how to communicate, and he always assigns two essay questions every quiz. You can't take more than one quiz a day. I do not recommend at all.
I took Professor Alduino for both HIS211 & PLS111 online during the summer. He is a great prof, responds to emails quickly and gives helpful feedback. Both classes are based on 14/15 tests including 20-30 multiple choice questions and 2 short response answers. take your time and you'll get As. one term paper and discussions graded on participation.
READ THE SYLLABUS and you'll pass the class! take your time on the tests and do your term paper. Work for the A and you'll get it
To say I was skeptical about taking this course with Dr. Alduino would be an understatement. After having the course with him, I can say I was wrong. He is a wonderful professor who responds quickly. Read through the syllabi, you'll be GREAT. There are 14 exams with 20 MC and 2 essays and a 5 page minimum term paper. I really enjoyed this class.
He likes to talk and talk. He also likes to talk about himself on and on. I feel I know more about him and the class I took. He is a nice guy but I would not take another class with him.
15 Chapter Tests, almost all are 32 multiple choice with two short essays. Hope you read your textbook and are familiar with names and associating them.
15 tests (32 questions each including two essays), 4 discussions, 1 term paper. Hard grader, even when his answer is wrong (textbook verified, he wont give credit. Tests must be taken on different days or you get a zero. Questions are abbreviated (like FDR or IKE instead of real names). Very tough class. I canceled my next classes with him. No more
15 tests, 30 questions with 2 essays each. The tests weren't the issue, if you did them and used your book and the internet, you pretty much got an A. The issue was the term paper. Very little instruction on what was expected. I turned my paper in and received it back 2 months later with a big X on all 7 pages of the essay. Very confusing.
One of my favorite teachers of all time! His style of lecture is easy to follow and he makes topics INTERESTING and relatable. Ive never retained more knowledge on history in any other class. Professor Alduino is smart, interesting, and CARES about students. Great man, great class!
This was the first History class that I took in college and he was a great choice. I read a few reviews on here about him and was a little skeptical but overall he was a great professor. As long as you show up, pay attention, and read some of the textbook you will be OK. His classes are all lectures but he is very knowledgeable and entertaining.
Professor Frank Alduino is one of the best teachers I have ever had. His lectures are engaging, and his grading and feedback are great. I look up to him with great respect, and he has truly inspired me. Almost two years after I took his class, I still regularly stop by his office for advice or to talk about history and life.
I took him at Towson but I still wanted to give him a rating. Professor Alduino was great. His lectures were very entertaining and actually made me enjoy the class even more. His tests weren't that hard and he cares a lot about his students. Great professor! highly recommend to Towson students!
Definitely the worst class Ive taken out of my entire college career. I wasnt a fan of the heavy reading to begin with but his quizzes will easily fail you if you are not detailed and precise on the essays. Each essay probably took an hour each for me To complete and the. add on the multiple choice questions. He never was engaged in the course!:(
Taken this class twice & he is terrible at communication. Only responds to emails he wants to. Like when he gave me a zero for my discussion post when it wasn't even due yet or when requesting the alternate term paper info. Term paper must be reviewed by writing center. Put lots of detail in essays and still not good enough for him. Beware!
Nice guy, would tell us in emails what the upcoming due dates were. Discussion questions were easy. The paper was easy (I did the alternative assignment). Only thing you have to watch out for are the test essays. He's a hard grader for them and he wants them long. The essays are the only reason I did not get an A in the class.
I took this in the Summer which was my mistake. The course material is better for Fall or Spring semester. Professor Alduino was great and made his expectations very clear from the start. If youre not a huge fan of test or actually having to read the textbook, I highly dont recommend. I also would recommend if you arent a strong writer.
Very insightful and respectable teacher. I suggest you do not take the class if you have trouble reading out of textbooks. You need to attend class also. He is not a very harsh grader and the tests are pretty average. If you can handle weekly discussion threads and reading chapters, he will be a good professor for you.
Professor Alduino is a very engaging professor especially during his lectures where he frequently cracks jokes. You can tell he is very engaged in the material himself which makes for a great learning environment. As long as you stay on top of weekly discussion boards you are going to do well in his class. 3 tests and a final paper which isnt long
Hes a really good professor! His lectures are interesting & engaging because he relates topics to things going on today and asks peoples viewpoints. Hes very knowledgeable and it was an overall enjoyable class. If you pay attention, study and do the weekly discussions (which arent hard) youll do fine! I definitely recommend taking him!!
The class itself was interesting, but there was little to no interaction with the professor. The course is graded test heavy, but the tests appeared to be pulled from an earlier edition of the textbook because some of the questions were about topics not covered in the assigned chapter. Be prepared for one-liner feedback.
Professor Alduino is a great guy and I really enjoyed his class. The classes were hour-long lectures which can get boring at times, but his New York accent keeps you focused. Weekly discussions, 3 exams, and a term paper. Class was pretty easy to get an A in. Gives two extra credit opportunities.
So boring. He included so many details that were irrelevant to the content and tests. Your notes will end up muddled with unimportant information. He keeps all dates for the exams a secret, so you will not know at the beginning when they will be, which is important for some people who like to plan their semesters.
Took as a 6 week online summer class. Overall, pretty easy class. Just make sure to read the syllabus carefully. Course is exam heavy (5 due every 2 wks.), a weekly discussion, & 1 term paper which must be reviewed by the writing center to pass. Professor answered my emails quickly but I wish the feedback on work was more than a one word response.
I thought going into the class politics would hurt and the professor would be very opinionated like a lot of AACC professors he is a democrat I was one of the few REP people in the class he never graded me based on what I felt he graded me on the facts and topics I pulled up and the evidence you have. it' always nice to know that it doesn't matter
a good professor, dont get me wrong. however, his lectures aren't super related to the exam topics. easily sidetracked. read the chapter b4 coming to class and you'll be fine. not a lot of hw but it can pile up SUPER fast, trust me. go to his office hrs and he will be more lenient with u on the exams/hw. overall, super caring EXTREMELY intelligent
Professor Alduino is an amazing professor, he is there before and after class so that you can talk to him about anything. He is also there for his office hours and appreciates when students come by.
Alduino was my favorite professor, he is extremely intelligent, funny and caring. He cares about his students and want them to be successful. If you keep up with the weekly assignments it is easy to do well in his class.
Just finished up a winter course, HIS-211 to be exact. It was pretty easy. This instructor is a pretty easy and fair grader, and he replies to emails very quickly- I can't stand it when professors don't reply to emails at all. That was not the case with this instructor. He truly wants his students to succeed in his courses. Great winter semester!!!
amazing professor! Absolutely a wonder to students. Loves teaching and proves it. Incredibly smart and clear with his expectations.
You have discussion posts every week that are very easy, should only take you 15 minutes tops. They will help your grade a lot. The exams, you will have 4, not including the final. R online but in class, they are difficult but just listen and take notes on the lecture. The lectures are very boring but you MUST pay attention!!
Amazing professor. Grade based on discussions (easy A), 3 exams with MC + 1 essay (essay questions provided in advance) & a 5-7 page paper (manageable if you start early). Lectures were interesting but some may find them boring. Read a chapter or so a week (reading is mandatory for exams) and take notes on the key terms sent before class for an A.
Professor Alduino was cool. I took a completely online course that was all at my own pace. There were quizzes for each chapter and 5 quizzes were due at a time. As long as you read and kept up it was super manageable! The quizzes were multiple choice and one or two essay questions. There was also a term paper but it was easy as I started it early.
Time management is definitely recommended for this class. There is a lengthy quiz for each chapter of the textbook (which you can use during testing), weekly discussion questions, and a term paper to complete. Teacher replies to emails quickly and strictly follows syllabus. He does not allow makeups or redos on work so try not to procrastinate!
Responds quick and leaves notes on how to improve.
Overall Dr. Alduino is great, I enjoyed his class so much that I chose him for my HIS212 class. He is quick to grade assignments and keeps the class engaged. Be sure to communicate any issues you may have over the time period of his class. He is very understanding, you just have to communicate!
I took an online course so I mostly relied on the textbook for the quizzes. I would read a few chapters and take the quiz only to find out half the questions on the quiz were not discussed in the book. Maybe this is more to do with the course then the professor but I would not recommend the 2 week online course in this class.
Best professor I have had this semester. He is an amazing lecturing and takes you on a journey through history during his class. I recommended his class to two of my friends and to anyone who reads this.
Quick to reply to emails but didn't leave any feedback on assignments. I took an accelerated class and it was very difficult to keep up. Expect 2-3 3 hour tests per week, lengthy notes and LOTS of reading. The worst part was the notes didn't line up with the textbook and some of the test questions weren't in the book or were based off opinion.
Seems nice, but after positive interactions, he ignored me. He responded to my emails without reading them. He lowered my A+ to an A because I couldn't meet with "The Writing Center" due to a state-wide power outage, and no appointments were open after. He grades quizzes' essays fairly, allowing students to write more freely without citing sources.
The discussion posts were an easy grade, (just as long as you wrote 250 words, you pretty much got 100%). He expects comprehensive work, but is also understanding. Very down to earth, not afraid to let people speak their minds in class, as long as they are respectful.
I took this course over the summer, so it was a bit accelerated. You'll have 5-6 tests a week (which were the only assignments other than the discussions) BUT you can't do more than 1 a day or else you won't get credit for them (I learned the hard way). You better have time because these tests can take up to 3 hours to complete.
On the first day of Prof. Alduino's class, I did not think him or his teaching style was going to be a good fit for me, but I was very quickly proved wrong. I learned SO much in this class, and also laughed a lot. He is extremely knowledgeable in history, funny, entertaining,& polite. He really cares about his students and he wants you to do well.
This Prof was kind and VERY UNDERSTANDING. I messed up and didn't understand the syllabus after reading it 4 times... I read to fast or can blame it on being sick.. But, Prof Frank understood and let me stay in the class. I would recommend READING SLOWLY the syllabus and understanding it before starting any quiz or discussions. enjoyed the class.
Biggest Ego and doesnt help students
He wasn't a bad professor. I took his two week course and there were 14 exams and 4 discussions. There were 40 questions on the exams and two essay questions (only had to be two paragraphs.) I didn't need to communicate with him about anything. The only thing that bothered me was his grading of the essay portion. He didn't provide good feedback.
Putting a limit to how many exams you can take is actually ridiculous and the tests had questions that wouldn't even be about history
Did not enjoy.
Professor Alduino was a pretty good professor. He lectures the whole class and there is very little interaction between you and other students, but he gets the material covered. Grades were heavily based on exams, had both a final exam and a term paper (make up 20% each). Cool guy, harsh grading.
I'm not a fan of history but Professor Alduino made it fun and informative. He's good at telling a story which made this course so interesting. Most history courses are dry and boring. The information stuck this time and it didn't feel like puling teeth.
This guy is a piece of work. His due dates are ridiculous and he has a zero toleration for late work or extensions. If you wanna be ripping your hair out all summer and constantly stuck in your room wanting to never take another college class again take his classes.
honestly the worst professor. No extra credit opportunities, the assignments are due at noon, there is a limit to how many assignments you can do a day or he won't grade them, he will open assignments an hour before they are due at times, has a huge ego, and has all these extra rules you have to precisely follow or he won't grade your work.
i would never take this professor again. it was an asynchronous course with fourteen exams, weekly discussion posts, and a term paper. not a ton of work but he was just very rude. i emailed him a few times asking why my answers were marked down heavily, and he ignored my words and would just respond super basic. its like talking to a wall.
I would never retake this professor. it was an online course with fourteen exams, weekly discussion posts, and a term paper. not a ton of work but he was very rude. His due date are crazy. the assignments are due at noon, there is a limit to how many tasks you can do a day. Has all these extra rules you have to precisely follow or he won't grade.
I took the six week long accelerated online course and it was about what I expected. The course consisted of six weekly discussions, fourteen chapter exams, and a five to seven page term paper. It is not a lot of work, but make sure to have good time management or it will cost you. My only criticism is he doesn't give much feedback on assignments.
Challenging class, but Professor Alduino knows his stuff. Lots of tests and reading, so be prepared to put in the work. Unstuck study was a lifesaver for study prep - way better than just relying on the textbook.
I took an online class, and it was great class. He made the work accessible at the start of the course, and allowed the us to complete test early. However, the discussion post were posted Monday, and due the following Monday. there was a 6-9 page term paper due at the end of semester that required a VWL meeting or points would be lost.
The online/asynchronous US History through the Civil War course is awesome. It is well structured, the textbook is great (loved the ability to listen to it), and it is easy to plan the coursework into a busy schedule. The term paper was a fun project, and Prof.Alduino was available to discuss the topic I chose. A fun course if you enjoy history!
ASSIGNMENTS ARE DUE AT NOON, NOT MIDNIGHT!!! If you miss even the first assignment, it's likely better to withdraw while you can. Other than that, feedback is not super detailed or helpful, but class is well paced and easy to understand.
Professor was okay at beginning but is not clear with instructions for term paper, although he does give reminders he does not provide students with helpful feedback or assistance when instructions are unclear. I do not recommend the amount of stress accumulated from this class was not necessary if instructions were clear and help was accessible.
