He gives you a whole lot of work but if you study hard, you'll do well.
He is probably one of the best instructors I've ever had in my life. He is very precise, helpfull and clear about his expectations. This class was exalted and helpfull, and it gave me a chance to realize the importance of college education.
His class is really hard, but he is the second best teacher at GoldenWest. First is Pierre Grimes(philosophy 120). Third is Bernie Gilpin(Physics 110).
very clear and easy, all he requires is doing your work on time.
I took the summer class (super accelerated, jammed into 6 weeks) and loved it. It was really hard work and he laid it all out on the table (what was expected) on the first day. He was knowledgeable and just great fun to work with. working hard pays off
Very hard teacher that gives alot of work. but is very helpful and clear .. most people got an A cause me gets your motivated in doin the work
This class was too hard for me. He gave me the evil eye during class, pretty scary. Usually left so he couldn't answer my questions and the workload was just out of control, I could never finish it.
An excellent teacher. Assigns lots of work, but if you do it you will get an A. Very helpful with everything and gives good academic advice.
Probably the most hardest class I ever took at GWC. Baker will make you work for your grade. Be prepared to dedicate a lot of time and effort in his class. Tests are very tricky, but he gives a lot of extra credit.
Hard teacher, but gives a lot of chances

Do not take this class unless you want a hard class and be bored out of your mind. I wanted to die during class, so long. He doesn't help at all, unless you kiss his butt, which I didn't. The HW is long, and you have to do TONS of reading. Don't take Anatomy at GW unless you HAVE to. Tests are so hard, I never knew anyone who got an A in a test.
It was the hardest class I ever took. I worked for my grade and it was the best class I ever had. He is a great teacher. He loves to have his students get involved. It's worth it if you do. His class made me a better student. He is the best!
Hear he's preferred over Michelson. Unless his wkbk has been updated, GET the OLD ORANGE TEXTBK. Tends to disappear, but once you find him he's helpful. If u want an A: Must be dedicated student. TIP: write a draft of essay and discuss w Baker b4 test day. Sit in during other lab times to study models and ask 4 help. Beware of Favoritism.
He takes a very different approach to teaching and uses his college 100 skills. If you make the right friends and stay on his good side then there shouldnt be any problem passing. It's alot of work but if you stick with it you'll definately learn alot.

He is one of the greatest teachers I have ever had! This was the hardest class that I had ever taken, but it was the most enjoyable! Yay for Mr. Baker!
He does not teach well. I didn't learn anything from him, I had to figure everything out myself. He can be fair and he can be very UNFAIR. I do not recommend him.

Good teacher...Makes it fun..He is a little scattered and getting old though
Half the time he leaves you in the lab to "learn with the models" but if you don't know what you're suppose to be doing with them, how are you suppose to learn? If this is your first class in the medical field forget it. His tests are super hard and have three parts to them. If you don't have a photographic memory, good luck surving. :P

You can expect about 200+ hours of homework, thats not counting the time it takes to study for tests. This is a hard class but he makes it harder than need be by wasteing lab/lecture to talk about his personal life. Also he does not tell you your exam scores so you never know your grade. If you want a good grade dont study just kiss his butt.
Bad teacher, plays favorites, very unfair in grading. I would suggest him over mikelson, but you have alot of work and his tests are very hard. If he doesn't like you, he probably won't "help you out" by giving you a better grade.
well he is a very smart man. his tests are really hard. he gives "twoefers" which you have to figure out if both, none,or one is true or not. its very difficult. he never lets you out early but the time goes by really fast. great anatomy teacher. great person. but he's a bit confusing at times
he is a good teacher, he has alot of "tricks" for his test. test are hard but you do learn alot in his class and it does take up alot of your time.
If you are taking this class be prepared to put your life on hold. You will no nothing but Anatomy for the full 16 weeks. Study hard! Be prepared. Take the time to learn the models in lab, you will need them! The practicals will kick you butt. He is a good teacher but this class is hard. You do learn a ton of information though.

really nice teacher to have around. Cares about the students in his class room, he takes time to learn all the students name by name tags but its fun. Great teacher ever! I recommend him to anyone that likes bio 170 and any other class that has him. fun teacher to deal with. has that 70's look ha ha ha. Mr.Baker your da best!
Mr.Baker is a wonderful instructor. He truly cares for his students, goes out of the way. Not a push over. Understanding.Super Fair. Best instructor i have ever had. would take his other classes even if there was a push over instructor same time and day as him. Words cannot explain. He loves his class. He loves to teach. RECOMMENDED!!

hes the best professor ive ever had and probably will ever have. hes a very genuine guy, very sarcastic and very entertaining. hes a great guy!
Man! take this dude for college 100 in the winter or whenevers he teaches college 100! EZ A+++ just do a little work and then just bs the rest of the work! He does not check the work at all! take his class!
DON'T TAKE HIM. HE'S REALLY HARD AND MAKE U DO ESSAYS. LECTURES ARE UNCLEAR AND DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT HE IS DOING
one of the few professors that actually CARES about students and teaching. do your homework and come to class(awake) and you'll be fine. the class is hard but what do you expect if you're going to be poking, oops, working with real people bodies and their health for goodness sake!!! so quit the belly aching and... study for a change. Prepare to be
This was not an easy class. He has hard tests, but lots of homework and extra credit for attendance, it helps. If you are not a natural in the sciences I would take no other classes, because you will be studying alot! Overall, Mr. Baker seems to care and want everyone to do good.
He really wants his students to succeed. Gives lots of extra credit for attendance. There is a lot of work and it is definitely not an easy class, but as long as you put in the effort you can do it.
There is a lot of info to learn & it IS the reason why it was ppl say its hard BUT the class was easy, just as long as you do all the work & EC u'll be fine. ASK, & he will help. i would totally take his class again!TIP: learn all vocab, will make everything easier & u'll know what ppl are talking about from here on end.
Consider yourself a moron or a really lazy person if you can't get at least a B in this class. You MUST study the vocabulary the first couple of weeks other wise your throwing a way points. You want to take this class if you have to take anatomy! Study vocab and esay questions while reading the chapters, before class! Then you'll get an "A".

He sometimes goes off on rants about things that aren't related, but he is the only teacher I would take if I had to do it over again. Only advice is study the vocab HARD the first few weeks, fully KNOW your essay questions, and study the CNS entirely, it's the hardest part in anatomy!
Study all the vocab, and study the essay questions, keeps you on edge, tries to trick you a bit but you do learn, he was nice but i think he spent to much time trying to flirt with the girls, Watch out! girls
Great teacher. You will learn a ton and laugh a lot if you have a sense of humor. He pretty much spells everything out for you, you just have to do the work. A lot of work; to the point where you will seem married to your text book. I wouldn't take the class with anyone else.
Mr. Baker is probably the best Anatomy teacher I've had. The workbook is tedious BUT it's what helps to learn the material. He tells you exactly whant you neto know! He is always there to help whenever you need! He really makes your brain sweat but he makes the class fun!! I would recommend him 100% Too bad he doesn't teach all the nursing pre-r
He is a good teacher , but hard
This is the introductory course into the medical profession. It's not supposed to be easy. If you do the work (yes it's a brutal load but I did it over the 2006 summer session and received an "A"), study like you're supposed to, you will do fine. Frank cares about teaching, his students, and sharing his knowledge. I doubt you'll find better...
This class is not for slackers, but there is alot of extra credit, attendence is mandatory and also extra credit. he stresses alot on vocabulary and the workbook so make sure you do them.
Avoid this professor at all cost. This class is extremely hard. The people that said he was a good professor, are right, but this class is so difficult that obligated me to change my major because I got a C and I could not take it again. I hate this class with all my heart, and I regreat taking it.
Mr Baker was by far the funnest teacher I've ever had. Ive never been a great student, especially with science, but he made the class so fun and interesting that you want to keep trying. Just participate a lot and take advantage of all the ways to get extra points. I actually enjoyed going to class, even though it was over 4 hours a day. TAKE HIM!

I HAVE TO SAY HE DOES LIKE HIS T**TS AND A**, BUT FUN TO BE IN HIS CLASS... HE IS ALWAYS WANTING TO EAT AND PARTY...WORKBOOK IS VERY HARD AND TIME CONSUMING... TEST AND PRACTICLES ARE HARD... BUT GIVES LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT. KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT, AND VERY CONCEIDID ABOUT IT...HOWEVER, I THINK HIS REPUTATION HELPS WITH YOUR COLLEGE CAREER
BEST TEACHER! I highly recommend him!
I really enjoyed this class, I had a blast, very fun and easy A if you do all the work or at least participate in class.

Stay on top of the workbook. Understand that he will NOT give you your grades all semester. He will change as he sees fit so be prepared for anything. Spelling, words, essays do well. Overall very fun class, nice guy, time consuming and very hard

Let's be honest: it's NOT a hard class, just A LOT of memorization (almost too much for one semester...but you can do it), workbook IS tedious and way to long, he is a **** and does play favorites. The reason he takes off and leaves for most of the time is cuz u just need to memorize where and what things R called, what's he gonna do?!? Useless!!

doesn't explain clearly
Study like no other. I loved this class. Be prepared to have no social life or see your significant other because you spend all your time studying. If you are someone who needs a social life, this is not the class for you. VERY GOOD TEACHER!!! I recommend him to anyone!!
Mr. Baker is a wonderful teacher! Really knows his stuff and knows what he's talking about. Class is a workload so be prepared for some hard work and sleepless nights! A lot of work but definately worth it! You really get a lot of this class. He's also fun and has a great sense of humor! He will always try to help so stick in there! Great teacher!
Mr. Baker...well he will keep you busy. Forget your learning style because he makes you complete a wkbk over 600 pages long that will take up so much of your study time you will not have any left to study your way. Expect the unexpected. He is not organised or consistant, at all. Self taught class!!! Lectures r rare not helpful. Lots of EC
Loves what he does and knows it well. Hard class, but you will learn alot! Tests are difficult, but if you do everything else and attend class you will definately pass, offers EC. Cares alot, Does Not play favorites with grades he is very fair to all. Participate, give 100% and talk w him, and you will have a good experience. Nice guy
i advise not to take his class..he's not up to date.. he never once showed us how we're progressing..the very first test we took, we didn't even know what we got on it.. he's just a horrible teacher.. his notes and lecture doesn't help getting an A in the class. he favors other students
Mr. Baker is truely helpful and caring. He knows each of his students and takes the time to answer questions and clarify any material for you. This class IS NOT meant to be easy. But Mr. Baker does all he can to help you learn anatomy. Make sure to do and study the workbook and study the models again and again. You'll get used to his sense of humor
He is a really nice and helpful teacher. I think he is one of the best anatomy instructor at GWC. Take him. Although at the beginning of the semester, he seems to give too much assignment, keep going and you will get A.
I would not recommend this teacher. He may know the material but I was a student who had a difficult time with some of it- especially his style of teaching. I feel the off-color jokes are not necessary or appropriate.
Definitely would recomend!! Hes NOT easy BUT you WILL LEARN! Keep up on the workbook. DONT SLACK OFF! Earn your grade and you will get an A. Hes nice until u give him a reason not to be. Talk to him. He is a good guy. ASK ALOT OF QUESTIONS! He may freak you out but he likes when you ask questions if you dont understand! Get study partners!Buy book.
Mr. Baker is a caring teacher who really wants his students to succeed. You must attend every class and lab and keep up with the workbook. He is a great teacher-who makes you teach yourself.
Mr Baker knows his stuff. He is very friendly and helpful when you need help. REMEMBER TO ASK HIM LOTS OF QUESTIONS! especially for the practicals. REQUIRES A LOT OF WORK but if you are diligent and don't procrastinate, you WILL get an A. I did with a lot of studying but it was worth it! TAKE HIM if u want an A!
Great teacher with positive attitude that inspiring students to learn and apply to real life. A lot of work needed in class but straight forward to the point of getting good grade is possible

BE AWARE OF HIS INAPPROPRIATE COMMENTS AND OFF-COLOR JOKES! He plays favorites (unfortunately), so if you want a good grade, STAY on his good-side, meaning you have to kiss up, stay involved, and ask questions. STUDY is a MUST!! DON'T SLACK OFF.
do the workbook and pass...lots of freebies, I didn't attend lecture ever, just go to lab and do your workbook while he rambles...practicles are easy... 3x5 card allowed on all tests...great guy... I didn't mind his jokes... Some people need to lighten up... No favoritism
This is the most work I have ever done. Baker sets a high bar, but it feels really good to acheive to his expectations. He is an AMAZING, FANTASTIC teacher, with passion for his profession, and it shows. Prior to his class, I heard the rumors. HE GOT A BUM RAP!!! He works with adults, and has never once been inappropriate.
As an older, returning student I recommend this guy wholeheartedly to anyone who really wants to learn anatomy. He's thorough, he knows it all and he cares PASSIONATELY - give him your best and you'll get a great grade. Yeah, the workbook's tedious, you have to learn a lot on your own, his jokes are lame, but he's a great guy! Two Hallices up.
MR. Baker...is a fantastic teacher...definitly the one u want...don't skip his classes...and don't get behind on his work book, the time and work is all worth while!!! Take his class, u won't be let down!!!
If you want to be a nurse, this is the instructor to take. He understood what I needed to excel in the nursing program. He set the conditions for us to build a solid foundation in anatomy. Work the class, form a study group, read before the lecture, and do the work book early--exercise your brain. Remember laughter helps us learn.
If you want an amazing anatomy instructor, take Mr. Baker. He makes learning anatomy so much fun! It is very helpful. I absolutely dislike biology classes, but as a nursing student I must deal and love it. He said in the begining of the semester "you must live, eat, breathe ANATOMY!" &i did. Take him! he cares about his students success.Study HARD!
Are we talking about the same teacher?? I read some of the past remarks and am appauled!! Frank Baker is an AMAZING professor who cares alot about EVERYONE NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE. This class was by far my favorite class i have taken. He made it fun and interesting. Great teacher do not believe what others have said in previous remarks. JUST RUDE
Let?s understand one thing. If you?re taking Anatomy, you?re preparing to go into the medical field in some area. Medical school-whether its RN,P.A.,M.A. etc.-is hard. Baker understands this and holds you to a very high standard. The first day he asked a simple question,"If you were sick in the hospital, would you want the Nurse who skated by with
Mr. Baker is the best professor ever... I wish all professors cared about their students as much as this man does... such a great class... Thank You!! (not easy by any means, but you learn ALOT) so not miss any class.. You will be fine:):)
Frank is the best, the class was stressful but he kept it fun! He def. cares about his students, regardless of the past remarks left. Def. do not get behind on the workbook!! If you do prepare for your hand to go through massive cramping.
I HIGHLY recommend taking Baker!!!! He will not let you walk out of class without you knowing your stuff and he loves for you to ask questions. He makes class extremely fun too! My best advice is KEEP UP ON THE WORKBOOK!!! - you slack off on that, and your done. As long as you keep up on that throughout the semester, you'll be fine.
Frank is the best teacher ever for anatomy, yes it is mostly self taught for those who can't speak up! He is there for his students but if you are quiet then he wont know if you are struggling we are all adults so take responsibility for YOUR grade, earn it. Workbook is tedious but if you commit to 1 &1/2 chapters a night you will have time to study
He is the best!!!! Do not even pay attention to the people below.... He is a great teacher and person... Grow up kids... LOL:) Study harder you cannot be mad at him for the grade you recieved...
Mr. Baker was one of the top professors I have ever had. He made class fun and interesting and made you want to be there. I learned so much and i couldnt have done it without him teaching. The workbook is alot of work but it is really good to have to look back on. Mr. Baker is also very understanding. You will also make great friends in this class!
Hard class, but there is a lot of extra credit. It will hard not to get an A if you attend class and keep up with the work book.
Had him this summer & it was the most interesting class I have ever taken! He really makes his students interact & you WILL make a few close friends. This is anatomy, so of course you have to study people! But he's pretty lenient & offers alot of extra credit. It's hard NOT to earn an A if you do the work. Workbook is time consuming but helps alot
The workbook was very large and needed some editing/updating. Expect a lot of group activities/going up in front of the class. Offers a lot of extra credit, so an A is possible. He refused to give the class back any of our test scores the entire semester. Even at the end of the semester he only gave us our final total points and our grade.
He is a nice guy but be prepared to not learn much. He lectures a lot but it goes in one ear and out the other because there is so much to listen to. Be prepared to do a lot of practicals in front of the whole class by yourself. He likes to put you on the spot...very smart and knows his stuff but likes to talk about stories and esp his daughter...s
The best professor on the planet!!!! I absolutely adore Mr Baker. He make u sweat bullets and really know your stuff. Anatomy is literally ur life. But its SOO worth it. Not only did I leave this class loving Bio MORE but i had an amazing experience. There are no guidelines for his test etc. B/c he always changes things around. Expect the unexpecte
Ok..600 pg workbook must be filled out by end of semester, quiz almost every week(HARD) 20 <?> every quiz has vocab words to memorize and paired with an Essay due that day, quizes are fill in the blank. Midterm 100 pts, Final 200pts 4 Practicals 3 of which are group, so u must name things in front of the class. Lots of work but A is possible.
Work book is redundant, technically have to rewrite the text book into the work book. Time consuming, expect a lot out of students. Tests are hard. Quizes every week, fill in the blanks. If you miss one words, you will miss the whole question (2 to 3 blanks per questions)
I enjoyed his class. You do need to attend as he stamps your workbook randomly. Unlike others I found the workbook to be helpful because you are forced to read the material. As far as level of diffuculty--you NEED to learn EVERYTHING. He does not lecture with PPT or an outline which makes you responsible for the material.Wears a relevant tshirt.
Anatomy is NOT easy! So Baker is the best professor to take it with! Best advice: KEEP UP W/ THE WORKBOOK! You get behind - you're screwed! He turns a lot of quizzes into group quizzes in front of the class. If u don't know ur stuff - he'll embarrass u and grill u until u know it - then u'll never forget it again=) Easy to get a B, work hard 4 an A
Awesome professor. KEEP UP with your workbook or will be screwed big time!! STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!! Attendance is a must, you learn so much. Quizzes are hard! But they are in group, some at least. Do it all on your own don't depend on others!
I love Frank. I recommend this class to anyone going into the health care profession. He motivated you to succeed and to do your best. No Anatomy class is easy, but the 4 hours in this class went by quick, and were fun!
Prof Baker is an AMAZING teacher. He holds everyone in his class to a very high standard. DO YOUR WORKBOOK! It's time consuming and feels like busy work sometimes, but in the end you will have learned a ton. There's a lot of group work and you will definitely spending a lot of time with your classmates outside of class. A great class!
I got an A but learned little. Lecture time is wasted with digressions. The workbook is busy work (word search puzzles, etc). Google and the book are better with plentiful, rich diagrams. Some exams are done in groups. You don't know your grade standing until the end of the course. The course's one redeeming quality is that it's relatively easy.
Class was easy as long as you studied on your own time. Have time to work on the workbook. All quizzes were decent, but don't get too caught up on failing a quiz or two. Really aren't worth that much, and most can be recovered via extra credit, practicals, or final. Let's say, overall, class was good. Interesting class. Everyone good luck.
I am taking him currently in Fall 2010. The workbook is long, but if you keep up you should be fine. Beware of the sexual jokes. You MUST be an independent worker. Gives some extra credit. Quizes are hard, but don't worry if you dont do so well on one or two. I would take Baker again if I could. Great teacher.
Class is designed to teach folks how to study...hence the workbork. Honestly, I felt like I was in kindergarten with the way Frank holds your hand throughout the course. The subject is easy, but the course is full of bs work and is a waste of time.
One of the only influential community college professors I had. I probably used his name in vain several times and I hated him during class, but that's only because he made us work so hard. He improved my study skills tremendously and I can attribute much of my success to him. For health majors, this class will give you an edge in ALL future classe
He does NOT give out extra points at the end 'cause he likes u..don't listen to others who say so. Do NOT fall behind in the booklet, get along w/him, DO ALL the extra credit, and be prepared for Practicals. 1st Prac: group. 2nd:partner 3rd: group 4th and 5th: On your own. He is truly a wonderful teacher!!!
Mr. Baker is the best teacher I ever had. I improved my study skill 150%. Yes, We work hard but that is the point of this class if you are going to the health field. I would take the class with him if I have to. Extremely helpful, friendly and funny too.
Awesome professor!! Cares about students, his quizes and practicals are hard but he gives you lots of EC. First day of class he lays it all out: it's going to be tough-you need to keep up-focus and stay diligent. I took physiology first which really helped me bc I took Anatomy over the sum. Be ready to donate your entire life to Anatomy. Good luck!
Honestly, he treats you like he owns you during the course. I think the only reason why some people like him is if they either kissed his ass and got an A or if they shouldve ended up with a c and got a B. I got a B and I did much better work then someone I know who got an A, I also know someone who got a C that did as much work as I did...
I am a reasonable person, Ive taken all the pre nursing courses... none of them were like his.. they were all normal teachers, baker is not normal.. seriously.. on the first day of class he told parents to reconsider what they wanted to do..take his class or parent. hes got emotional issues and is hubris!! its actually sad.
So. Much. Work. If you take his class, be prepared to spend a lot of money (~$300) on textbooks, online codes, and his lab manual. The manual is 600 pages and he expects you to complete the entire thing (it's A LOT of busy work). Doesn't go over much and lets you teach yourself. HARD CLASS, so don't take any other classes while taking Baker.
He's an awesome guy and a fun teacher (if you like inappropriate jokes) There is a lot of hw but if you do it.... you'll get a good grade on the quiz. Class is expensive but if you need help just talk/email him.. he emails back right away. He genuinely cares. I recommend his class! PS he offers a lot of extra credit so take advantage of it!
Funny professor if you have a sense of humor. The workbook is alot of work but it really helps studying for tests and quizzes. The final is hard but there's s so much extra credit it makes up for points lost. Awesome professor!!!
Mr. Baker is a great and passionate teacher. Workbook is a lot of work but exteremly helpful-he checks every page.Collect all the extra credits stamps you can get including from wiley. Participate in class(bonus), try to do well in practicals (50pts each) and quizes.Final is hard-asks ? on every chptr especially bones, muscles, fetal circulation.
He is very hard.
this class is so hard.
Very hard if you don't study, hard if you do. Fair teacher, tons of extra points, don't wait till the end to do the workbook. Study 15-20hrs a week. Grades on a curve 85% is an A. Loved his class really challenged me, I got an A!
hes a great passionate teacher, workbook cost around 120, wiley another 90 but if bought with loose leaf txtbook will be like 160. worth taking his class!, if you do the whole workbook, like every single page because he will check and do all the wiley quizzes on time and do okay in his quizzes and practicals, then its an easy A! trust me!
If you do all the extra credit and show that you are trying you will pass. the final is hard so review everything from the semester.
Took his Bio Lecture Class at GWC. A lot of work. It's a 4 Unit class but he makes it feel as it's a 12 Unit class. Day and Night you need to study flashcards, read the book, and attend long hours of labs. But I got an A.
LOVED THIS TEACHER he is so helpful and great! huge tip if you are a girl really play up your looks because that was the main reason me and my friend got such a great grade! he loves the ladies and if you are sweet he will make the class alot easier fyi!!!!!
anatomy was a really hard subject for me but as long as you do your binder and get your stamps and study for quizes and SHOW UP TO CLASS.. you're good to go , he is a really cool funny teacher
He's a great teacher highly recommend!
