let's just say that i got an a on both midterms!
Cool German Accent. He obviously likes math a lot, which makes his class fun.
He's a really good teacher.
i didn't always understand what he was lecturing on, but i still got an A on both midterms so somehow it worked. i would reccomend him. the curve is ridiculously low.
Frank is an awesome professor who loves the subject he is teaching! I would highly recommend him.
Very clear, easy to follow lectures; a good public speaker. Always willing to help in office hours and welcomed questions in class. Supplemented lectures with interesting uses for the material.
good teacher, good class, and he wears a sweet train conductor's cap all the time.
Awesome, I really like him. But personally I believe my ACE instructor did a better job explaining. He tends to be long winded and boring
he is the worst teacher i have ever had in my life...he doesnt know what the hell he is talking about or maybe he does but he just cant teach at alllllll. one plus is he wears funny vests and barrettes.
Frank is an excellent professor! He has a great sense of humor, and es extremely helpful. I benefited a ton from his class.
very good teacher, hard to understand at times, but effective teaching methods
this guy was great, he made learning about math pretty fun! he had a great sense of humor too, so he'd invent these funny acronyms to help us remember math theories and that sort of stuff. i would take this class again, my t.a. was awesome too
His class was okay. I thought I'd deserved a better grade.
He has been one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He always gave a clear explanation and enough examples to get you through the homework. Although I think that we should have been able to use calculators.
Frank is a great prof, although his class is difficult. you'll learn a lot if you actually goto class and do your homework, but thats easier said then done. i'd would really recomend him if you need to take math though
He was a great prof. and he new his**** but he spoke to fast at times and you really couldn't understand because of his slight accent
One of the best math teachers I have had! If you want to pass his class pay attentiion in class ask queations and go to his office hours he really helps you out. He also gave free MnM's to those that found mistakes or answered questions -THANX Pof, Osc
I thought Frank was a cool teacher who had a good sense of humor and was very helpful. Frank had the amazing ability to write really fast and clearly. He also explained the material well. He knew how to explain things, and he made very few errors. I a
Frank was an awesome teacher. He is extremely intelligent and helpful. He treats everyone as an equal and helps students any way he can. He has a real love for math and it is portrayed in his lectures. I wish he could teach all my math classes!
This guy is so cool. He made math fun. Highly recommend Frank.
Frank is by far the best math Professor at UCSC I higly recommend taking a class with Frank.
Frank was very knowledgable and enthusiastic about math. Very quick with answering questions and had a good sense of humor. The greatest thing about him was that he let people who didn't want to wake up at 8am and take a final take it at a later time.
This guy rocked the first time i had him. the hw was reasonable, and he knew his stuff. the second time around, he was still tryin to figure out the online hw, and gave out probs that were kinda hard to learn from. but all around hes a really cool guy.
He is pretty cool, but i think he moves sort of fast though the subject. Its coo though.
Best calc teacher i've ever had!
he's a great a professor. His exams are fair!
funny guy, fair on his exam.
Irritating. Unclear. Horrible teaching methods. Plays with the computer to much during class- should have it figured out before lecture.
Frank is a really cool professor! To me he's pretty hard but I didn't really give it my all. He does go pretty fast but if you go to he's office hours he is really helpful! Hard but fair. STUDY people!
Frank is great! His humor/pringles/funny costumes helped to liven up the class. Plus he's really friendly and genuinely wants to help you out. I found 22 to be a hard class, and he does go rather fast. Read the chpter before you come to lecture!!
A good lecturer, but goes really fast. Must stay on top of things, or else you'll get lost. Lectures are sometimes a bit confusing, but he's there to help you if you go to office hours. Exams were difficult. Grades given were lower than expected.
exams harder than expected. lecture was kinda boring. not recommended. why get a C when u can take it another quarter and get an A?
He was a very challenging lecturer. He skipped points and made lots of mistakes. It sucks to get a B when you friends took it from an easier teacher, never studied, and got As.His exams were hard, but we were warned.Study points even if he didn't go over it.
excellent instructor
Frank was really funny, interesting, and engaging; I never fell asleep during his lectures. However, his class is HARD. His homework is really easy, but he skips things and is sometimes unclear in lecture. Tests are VERY DIFFICULT. Study or fail!
he's very funny. good teacher but hard tests either you study or you fail
Great professor, one of the best that I've had. He's funny and makes lecture interesting. He's also really helpful and will take the time necessary to go over stuff if u ask him after class, or in office hours. He's really understanding too.
He was great instructor.Even though it was kind difficult to understand him bc of his accent.he was very helpful in and out of class.he a real nice and understanding guy.tests are not very hard.similar to practice tests.join ACE, it helps alot!!!
he has fun jokes and participates with the holidays.
i hate math, i've never liked it, but i actually don't mind sitting through his class! he's a great teacher, understands things really well, and lightens things up with jokes here and there. you can tell he's very sincere in answering questions and just an overall great teacher!
he's really good. if you don't understnad something just go to him and he'll figure it out. his tests are a bit hard, but if you study you should be fine.
Anybody who's taken calculus before should have little problem with this class. He's pretty funny, breaking up his lectures with jokes. Prepare to spend a lot of time looking at a blackboard, and section times are way too long. The homework is really short, though.
So fun to listen to.
Frank was really engaging and fun. The material and tests were easy. I definately recommend him.
Very fun while still effective. Great professor.
I hate math, but Frank made it really interesting. He talks a bit fast and the class moves a bit fast in general, but it's still fun. Really hard tests though, since he likes to use weird cases for some problems.
Frank is an okay professor. I ended up passing the class, but the homework was intense. Frank does easy examples in class so you feel like you understand the topic without a doubt. He's really nice and he'll explain the topic more thoroughly if you go to office hours. Very hard tests.
Though I only recently finished my first quarter at UC Santa Cruz, I'm convinced that Frank is one of the best, most kind, and most sincere professors at the school. He is open for all students and values their needs with utmost consideration. Do the homework - you'll perform better on the exams.
This is my second quarter having him. He's a great professor and he explains everything really well. The tests are a little on the hard side though.
really nice and tries to make things easy to understand
He is a really intelligent and nice man; however, his midterms and finals are very difficult. He puts the hardest examples of each type of problem on his tests, and the homework online sucked this quarter. You will learn a lot from him but be prepared to work hard.
Very hard midterms/final/homework
Frank must be on one the greatest lecturers at UCSC. Anyone taking a math class should definetly try to enroll in one that he is teaching. Frank is incredibly intelligent, funny, helpful, and concise. I just cannot say enough about him!
Frank is the man. Honestly the best lecturer at UCSC, hands down.
very enthusiastic and accessible.
Frank is da HOMIE! I would just like to say thank you for takin over the class for Tony Tromba's non teachin ass! I can actually read my notes clearly and I can understand Frank too...damn it just dont get better than that.
i hate math im terrible at it i have to take this class and its somewhat manageable with frank he's really nice and i really could have died in this class and im not. so go frank. do the homework study go to section. youll be ok
Frank is the best math teacher I've ever had. He is extremely helpful and actually has a personality (he tells jokes). He was fair with his tests and gives study guides that are similar right before so you aren't completely lost. I highly recommend taking math with him!
I tool Precal in High school and didn't understand a thing. I took it this quarter with Frank and I really enjoy it. Frank knows how to teach and he's a very funny and approachable person. I highly recommend taking a math class with him.
Frank really knows what he is teaching. He is a very good professor and makes the subject very interesting. He is a very approachable teacher and I hope to be in his other classes in the future.
19A was easy. 19B was hard since I had a horrible TA, the homework was hard, and the tests were hard. The tests were composed of all the hardest problems from the hw, which sucked. Lots of people got D's or F's in that class and a lot of people end up retaking it...including me. Also, I think it helps if you have taken calc before.
Very nice and approachable professor. Lots of HWs and exams were reasonable. Thought I deserved better grades than what he gave. Would recommend taking it with other professors though.
once you get past the german accent, he's very good at getting things through to you, the exams are challenging. Don't take this in the morning if you aren't a morning person. Go for the extended section if you are having trouble.
great teaching skills, made me believe I could actually pass my math classes! :-D
Probably my favorite teachers that I had a class with
Great Guy, strange clothing (always entertaining.. train hats, cool vests, etc). It wasn't the best class, but it's easy enough to follow his teaching and get a good grade. He brings food sometimes, so go to class and don't miss out!

Moves very quickly and can be hard to keep up with especialy with accent. 19 b has alot of material to cover in a short amount of time. knows his stuff!

He makes THE weirdest analogies EVER. WTF does "banana milk" have to do with math!?!?!?
I like this guy. Very funny way of dressing, but he's an awesome teacher. He has a funny personality also. One more thing... watch him when he's erasing the chalkboard... it looks like he's dancing! HAHAHA...
Hes a little odd, but his accent is cool and I found his class to be one of my favorites because he made math simple for me.
YAy for people named Bauerle because it has a lot to do with math.i dont go to his class but the chairs still hurt
Frank is a nice guy. His tests are very challenging, though.
Baurle rocks
Of all my college math profs Frank is by far my favorite. I am not a "math person," but Frank's class is usually engaging and really forces you to keep up. He seems to really care that everyone can do well, and he is often entertaining. On the day of a midterm, he usually dresses up, and sometimes tells jokes or plays music to help everyone relax.
Frank is the best math teacher I've ever had. I came into the class hating math and feeling very lost and it turned out being my favorite. He's pretty funny too. This guy is awesome.
Frank is awesome! He's entertaining (dressed up as a tooth fairy for halloween) and seems genuinely interested in the success of his students. Class isn't exactly easy and sections still help a lot, but he's a very good teacher. Not what you'd expect for a math professor.
Man. This guy is by far the best math teacher ever. Have to love him. Doesnt take roll or anything in lectures but ppl come anyways. thats the type of teachers we need.
Frank is a great guy, but his class is tough. Gotta love his toothfairy outfit!
Frank is awsome. His class is tough but he is very helpful to all students. Tests are fairly difficult but he curves them so it usually works out well.
good guy, good sense of humor, so he makes the class interesting. he goes pretty fast, so pay attention! the book doesn't do much since he creates his own hw. his halloween costume was priceless this year. tests aren't bad, you just need to study & review & understand it. good teacher.
This class was hard. Especially when you forget the math you learned prior over the summer. I would suggest getting a tutor or something for him. But he is a funny and nice teacher though.
great teacher, he is very smart, he doesnt bluber or skip one sbj till he cover every part of it; his test also need more of application of what has been thought in class, but still easier than his hw. have to luv this guy
hes a really nice guy but an ok teacher
Very clear, has a sense of humor. Very willing to explain things in office hours if you choose to go.
Hes cool, its a hard class but if youre going to take it, take it with Frank..hes awesome.
If only all math teachers were this good...Frank is so unbelievably patient with questions from students during his lectures, it's almost to a fault. He tries beyond all reasonable bounds to get the material through to you, and he does so with a great sense of humor ("None shall pass!"). Recommended for all students taking any math class.
he dressed as the tooth fairy for halloween, totally worth the tuition
Aced 19A and 19B with Frank. Quite an easy and understanding teacher. In fact, the best math teacher in the school in my opinion!
Frank is awesome. 'nough said.
Clear in his speech, and uses good computer images to help the students visualize ideas. Sometimes he gets carried away with his explanations (everyone already gets it, or should, but he keeps going). Read the textbook, its more helpful than most math texts! Make sure you study old material for the final & go to a final review if possible.
This guy is the collest math teahcer ever. Is always making jokes in class and gives very clear lectures. Will be very helpful when needed. Makes you turn in homework online which is sweet. Covers sections well and with examples. Never lets you out early, not even by a couple of seconds, hardly runs over time. If you can take him TAKE HIM!
frank made lectures on integration captivating. i didn't think that was possible. thanks frank.
He is such a great teacher, sit in the front you will get the most out of the class. going to every class is also good too, you'll understand more one the tests. his test are straigh forward, nothing crazy hard, you just gotta know the matrial. :) frank=awesome
His class was so boring. Fell asleep in class 80% of the time. Homework are easy. Exams are easy if you study the practice midterms (they are VERY similar!). Cool guy I guess.
Love Baurele. He has a good sense of humor and very good at teaching. Go to lectures they help alot because he gives tons of exanples which he uses sometimes on homework or exams. Go to lecture and study his notes and you'll be fine. Careful of him graphing calculator, he tends to love it and it gets really boring. other than that hes great.
A wonderful teacher, very eccentric and interested in what he teaches, he loves giving a background about the subject that he is teaching, which he makes pretty interesting, and he makes sure that we understand it, his lectures help a lot with his many examples, and he has fun metaphors to describe math
I couldn't understand him at all, he was not helpful and made the course more difficult than it was. DONT TAKE HIM!!
amazing math teacher for upper division classes.
nice prof, speaks clear, clean english (WOW) but never changes his pants. oops...
Friendly, funny, and in love with the subject. I wish I had gone to class. Not only would I not have failed, but I would have benefited from a great professor.
He's funny and knows his stuff, definitely my favorite math teacher. really cool guy.
For 19A I think Frank did an excellent job. He interacts with the students and makes jokes and has a faint accent. He also dedicates a lot of time to helping students outside of class.
Frank is a cool guy - sometimes he makes jokes, but overall the class is boring. The most annoying part about lecture is how much Frank writes on the board. He always writes down the exact textbook definitions (which are long and confusing) of a bunch of arbitrary theorems. Go to section - it helps. But make sure to get a good T.A.
Great teacher and great class. Exams were extremely fair and the quizzes in sections were cake. The homework online was a bit annoying but it was doable. The only thing I didn't like about him was that he wears socks with sandals every now and then.
Frank is the best professor I have had yet.
This prof is the BEST math prof ive ever had anywhere. he was so clear and nice and he basically spelled out what would be on the tests. he was so good! he dressed up on holloween as the tooth-fairy so you know hes funny, also he wears a train conductors hat everyday.
Frank was the best calculus professor ever. I always felt like he took confusing subjects and broke them down so that everyone understood. He was fair and there was a lot of homework at times, but it was always helpful. Lecture attendance is not mandatory but it will really boost your grade and understanding. Getting a good TA is crucial.
Very clear and passionate about the subj and the success of his students. i HATE math but he made it a breeze. Its hard to find a good math prof, but hes 1 of them, Section mandatory, online hw aggravating. good natured and funny too. how anyone can give him a bad rating is beyond me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
easy to pass, sections mandatory so make sure you have a good TA, online hw tedious sometimes, lectures are really boring and you can get info from the website--i played on my laptop throughout lecture so you don't have to go to a single one. grades on curve + i like his hawaiian shirts and clothing choices. fun to look at, not to listen to.
Frank is awesome! He talks about squirrels (I'm pretty sure he has a squirrel farm or something) and he thinks of cool examples that makes stuff easy to understand. He curves fairly, and as long as you go to lecture and do the homework, you'll do good in his class.
okay so math is definatly NOT my thing...but frank is SUPER patientttt...this is the second time ive taken the class at UCSC and i came away with a B+..i recommend it...
Frank goes super fast. Maybe this class was just beyond me, but tests are HARD and going to section/class is always a good idea. You get behind if you don't because of the speed. He curves but this class is tough. Nice enough, clear, smart. Kind of strange, but in a good way. If you want an easy class, don't take this one!!
FRANK IS AMAZING!!!!!! he is super passionate about the subject and is very interested in the success of his students. Go to him after you get your test back because the TAs grade harder than he does. I FREAKING LOVED HIM! if you are gonna take this class TAKE IT WITH FRANK!
Frank is the man. For reals. My favorite thing about him is the woman's hairclip he wears everyday, but apart from the shallow - he's a killer teacher and exceptionally nice person. Take it with him. His tests are very fair but unfortunately section count for a lot.
He's one of the better math profs at UCSC. Most of lecture were proofs of the concept, which was lame. GO TO SECTION, and DO THE PRACTICE FINAL/MIDTERMS. Tests are difficult, but he curves them.
Frank is quite possibly one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He's funny, smart, and extremely helpful. He makes difficult material readily accessible to the less math-inclined. Sections are mandatory. Exams are moderately difficult, but he gives generous curves.
Least I could is to write a good review cause he truly is an amazing instructor. He is very clean and intelligent and very helpful. I can certainly say he's the best Math teacher I have ever had! He wants you to learn and encourages you to learn. Midterms are fair but final was tough! A+ Professor!!
Great math teacher!Even though the class was fundamental review for me, I loved every bit of it.His way of teaching is extraordinary.Very comprehensible teacher.Go to lecture and some sections, you should get an A.
i just don't know. Best teacher I've had so far at UCSC. Go to his office hours and you'll be amazed at how much you'll understand.
Tries to make multivariable accessible. Works for some students, not for me. Good prof . Toughness was due to material more than prof. He is fair. If you have the chance, try his class!
He is a very nice guy, buy i felt his randomness distracted from the material. Seems like he drinks too much coffee bc he went super fast in lecturing. Especially for this class, since math 100 is very different from any other math previousely had.
His lectures are pretty much pointless to go to because he is really just not good at teaching.
Bauerle is a great teacher - the lectures were very clear and mildly amusing, enough that I wasn't struggling to stay awake. He even dressed up as Bob Marley for Halloween. awesome~
fun guy```` i like him,,,i won't fall into sleep....helpful.
He told interesting history of mathematics, like Fermat's Last Theorem. However, his midterms are sort of scary.
He's probably the best math instructor I've ever had. He's easy to understand & breaks down everything for you! His exams are made so he knows you have clear knowledge of the subject, so just do the homework. The only thing I could probably complain about is ALEKS. It's useless & it's worth 10% of your grade! He wears a lot of purple. Super funny.
Awesome professor. Study his practice midterms/finals, go to sections, do the homework, and you'll be fine. Lectures can be confusing if you don't look through the book section ahead.
He is awesome.
HE IS A GREAT PROFESSOR, BUT MATH IS JUST GENERALLY HARD!
Frank's class is challenging, but you learn a lot. Whatever you don't understand in class can be clarified during section. The tests are hard, but fair. The book is kind of useless, but there have been some problems from the book on the exams.
Frank is a good teacher. He knows his material. He tends to focus heavily on concepts. Basically, he teaches well, knows his stuff, and his tests are reasonable. His only downfall is that he doesn't provide many useful examples.
Excellent professor. Difficult class, due to difficult subject matter. Did a great job of conveying concepts to students. One of my favorite professors and a really fun guy. He deserved the standing ovation he received after his final lecture.
I was scared of proofs before taking this course with Frank. I no longer am. He knows which concepts and ideas are more difficult for students to understand and has an unparalleled ability to explain them in lecture. He also tries his best to make the subject matter interesting and spark his students to think. Highly recommended for math 100!
Frank is really a nice guy. I almost went to office hours at least once a week, and he was not only clear and helpful, but he was extremely patient. His tests were difficult, but very fair, and he gives a fairly generous curve. He's a pretty quirky guy and wears weird clothing, so going to lectures will keep you entertained. I will miss you Frank!
Best math teacher I've ever had. Tests are very fair and aren't that hard =D
Great Teacher. Go to his office hours!!
Awsome!!!!!!!!!!!! Love Bauerle
had frank for 19 A and B and wouldn't have wanted it any other way. he's the best teacher i've ever had. knows more about math than anyone ive seen. take his class and u will NOT regret it. online hw is easy and midterms are pretty easy. many of his test questions are from hw problems.
This sentence and all that follow are false. Frank is my favorite professor at UCSC. Had him for 19A/B, 100 and 160. He loves teaching and has a heart of gold, makes math interesting and fun. Would not have made it through my upper division math classes if not for him. If you have opportunity to take a class with Frank, it'll be a loss if you don't
Frank is an awesome guy who loves what he does. His energy makes Precalculus more bearable. Don't buy the textbook though, it's online. I'll miss you Frank!
This guy is awesome. Super nice, super chill. Unintentionally hilarious fashion sense.
Frank was great!! He really was quite funny, and he tried making lecture more fun and interesting. If you are deciding to take math 3, I definitely suggest you take it with him!!
Frank is such a wonderful teacher!! I would go to his office hours and he had only a open mind to try to help his students understand. He's such a fun and witty teacher, you can't beat it. "chalk of math instruction" oh man. he's awesome! I highly recommend it. Loved him :)
He is a great teacher. He teaches everything you need to know in lecture. If you miss a lecture you are screwed. basictly go to lecture and you will be fine. He is funny and smart..he definately one of the few great teacchers outthere.
Frank rocks. He is super funny and a great professor. He goes into detail a lot which can be boring and not really useful. His tests mirror his practice tests closely. He is fair and really nice. Very helpful. I would recommend taking his class.
The best at UCSC. Great human being, too.
I think he's a decent teacher, but his notes are kind of simple compared to the homework and even the mid terms and final. Also, the grader for this class is not cool because he deducts a chunk of point for one answer that is wrong. Frank also does not give much partial credits for questions on the exam.
Professor Bauerle is an excellent instructor. I had him for differential and integral calculus. He is always exceptionally prepared, enthusiastic about the topic, and patient with his students. My experience studying under him has been very rewarding and I would recommend his class to anyone interested in math.
Bauerle is brilliant. He's very good at explaining concepts and very helpful. The homework was long and the tests were hard, you're going to need to try in his class. If you pay attention and do the work you'll at least pass. Bauerle is very clear, organized, and knowledgeable.
Do your homework. Don't give up. Tests are pretty hard. Bauerle is pretty clear in lecture, also reminds me of Christopher Walken.
It's 19B, a very fast paced and difficult class. Baurle is a great professor and will listen to any question you ask. My favorite math teacher at UCSC so far for sure. He's also really organized on the board.
Great teacher, I honestly do not think a teacher could be better, 19a was a lot of fun, he was able to go into a lot of detail, 19b is a fast pace course and he was not able to go into too much detail, for sake of time. Go to his office hours he is super friendly and will help you learn and understand, and will go into further detail if you want
Frank Bauerle is so many kinds of cool. He's a brilliant professor, most importantly. He loves math and teaching, his lectures are easy to follow, and he's very personable and friendly. I would recommend anything he teaches 100%.
This class was much, much harder than 19A. I would still recommend taking it with Bauerle, but definitely have that word of warning. It's the nature of Integral Calc. He jumps into series a little bit head-first, which made the notation and working with them rather intimidating. That's my one qualm. Aside from that, Frank does a brilliant job.
Frank is by far one the best professors I've had at UCSC. He's very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the material. He explains the material clearly and is very helpful with any question you might have. Attendance is a must if you wanna do well. Frank is very approachable and really cares about his students. I definitely recommend taking him.
Very funny professor. Generally proves concepts instead of providing lots of examples. His midterms were straight forward and then he raped us all with the final. Nonetheless, he was still a great professor!
Frank is by far one of the best professors I've ever had. I entered his class with no knowledge of calculus and ended the quarter with an A. His notes are clear and understandable and the exams are really fair. Frank is super funny and tries to make lectures interesting. Calculus is definitely not easy but if you put in the effort, you'll do well.
He's the best math professor that I've ever had. His lectures are clear and simple. When going to his office hours, he's extremely friendly and approachable who is really interested in helping his students. He never looks down on everyone and treats everyone as his friends. I love him as a professor so much! If you put in effort, you'll pass so sure
he is very fair with his grading, he's very clear and caring.
Bauerle is a great professor because he cares immensely about both his subject and his students. Math isn't my favorite subject but his explanations made the material seem less alien. Just stay on top of the material and ask him questions after class or during office hours because he'll go through the questionable equation and explain each step.
He's the best professor I have ever had!
Wonderful teacher! Presented very good lectures. Gave really good examples in class that really helped with the homework. As long as you go to all the sections and do the homework, you'll do wonderful in this class!
Best math professor I've ever had. I will leave it at that because I don't want to write an essay about how good he is. The book is also just as good as Frank is, all examples are clear and helpful.
Dr. Frank is an awesome professor. he proves everything he introduces and everything is extremely clear. i got an A by doing his practice midterms/finals and doing a little bit of calculus every day. the tests are very fair and doable. don't ditch this class, frank moves very quickly and you don't want to miss anything he says. trust me.
Very comprehensive on his lectures. Will gladly go over something if you don't understand. Exams are not easy but not impossible. Studying is much needed in order to do well on his exams.
GREAT math teacher! He is always very prepared and explains things with detail. His midterms are not too hard, but the final is. Practice tests are similar to the real tests. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it helps a lot to hear his explanations.
Very very awesome math teacher, and I HATE math. He's funny, his tests aren't too hard, and he's very good at explaining stuff. His class gave me the confidence to take a major that involves calculus.
Even if you don't go to lecture (notes are all posted online), the tests are very fair. Make sure you master the material on the practice exams, try to do the homework w/o your notes, and go to section. Math is one of those subjects that you need to study for every day. It's really that simple. His tests are curved, too.
Rally disappointed in this professor. All I heard was good things about him but he didn't seem to have it together this quarter. He assumed you remembered far too much from previous classes and would rarely tell you if he was using a formula (or trig identities from precalc)before using them. The class was far too large for many people to speak up.
He is one of the best math teachers Ive had. Passionate about Calculus. Cracks some decent jokes. Gave good examples and explained ideas thoroughly. I didn't do well just because I didn't attend class enough. You will like him.
a very good professor.testes are fair and as long as you do the study material you'll be fine. he makes some good jokes. but wish he was more german!!!
Excellent math professor, one of the best I've ever had. Extremely helpful and seems to be invested in your success and understanding of math. Also very approachable and understanding. Anyone who complains about this guy just can't handle the class and doesnt want to admit they suck. Can't say enough praise for Frank.
Very clear and loves his job. He grades VERY fairly and wants everyone to do well. Best math professor i've ever had. Ever.
Grading is very fair in this class. You will definitely not be able to get away with not putting in your share of effort to do well in this class. He preps you for the midterm with clear lectures, weekly quizzes, hw that's harder than the midterms, and practice tests. Also a funny guy with an awesome German accent. Makes 8:00am lecture worth it.
Frank is easily the best math professor I have had. He explains everything in lecture clearly and provides plenty of supplemental materials on his class website. His jokes keep the class interesting. He wants to see you succeed and he does this with a VERY fair grading system.
Frank is just awesome! Although he is tough and extremely fair on the exams, he really wants you to put effort on being knowledgeable of the subject. Thus far, Frank is one of the best math teachers I have ever had!
If you miss two classes in a row you will be behind. attendance is must and if you don't get something make sure u go to office hours. Midterms and final are challenging but if you study they are easily doable. Great teacher and loves math
Excellent math professor. Very insightful teaching style and very approachable in office hours. Put in the necessary amount of work, and you will learn a lot from him.
I had Frank for Math 3 and I highly recommend him. His lectures sometimes get to theoretical instead of focusing on application. but that is to be expected with most math professors. His tests are really fair. If you study and know the material you will do well on them. If I get a chance to take a class by him again I would jump at the chance.
really great professor who obviously cares immensely about mathematics. He is approachable and cares about your success as much as a teacher with 300 students can. TAKE HIM WHENEVER YOU HAVE THE CHANCE.
Frank is an outstanding teacher. He definitely cares about his students and when you go up to talk to him, he treats you like he's known you for years. He's very helpful and a great person overall. He sometimes over-complicates concepts that can be slightly confusing, but you learn to see through it. You will never get out of class on time!
Frank loves math and teaching it. His lectures are good for getting the basic concepts of things but his for his exams you need to spend time outside of class exploring more elaborate problems than the ones he goes over. He's the best freshman level math teacher at UCSC.
I would say I'm still not used to the college learning environment by taking this class. Some say he is a very good professor but he explains and writes at the same time so it was difficult for me to comprehend since it was fast. The exams are average but he is super helpful (office hrs or e-mail) whenever you need it!
Explains pretty clear, but the lectures do not relate to the hw. Sections are useful. Study the online practice midterm/final and you will do well in the class. He is also very forgiving and cares a lot about math. He teaches till the end of the class time...
Great class and professor. Highly recommended for people who are interested in math. You get to prove some cool stuff.
Pretty cool class. I thought I would get a B then his final was pretty challenging so I got a C+. All his tests are pretty tricky and are sometimes are to study for. He's nice though and expects a lot out of his class.
He is really enthusiastic about teaching and is more than willing to explain things before/after class and in office hours. His class was hard, I expected a C at best but got a B so my advice would be to understand the concepts and don't just memorize formulas.
Amazing professor who truly cares about his students. I am not a math person at all but I went to his office hours a lot and attended class and ended up getting an A. He is also so understanding. I got really sick and had to move home and he let me take my final home with me. One of my favorite professors thus far.
Frank is absolutely amazing. He explains calculus with a lot of clarity, except during the times when he does the proofs for formulas. However, the things that you need to know are crystal clear. Additionally, he speaks with much passion, so it isn't boring. He's a VERY nice guy to talk to personally, so don't be afraid to go to his office hours.
Just an amazing teacher. Enough said.
Never went to class, still pulled a B+ out of the course. Frank's a great teacher and an awesome person as well. His lectures are crystal clear, although I only went to a few. The midterm and final are basically the same thing besides a few problems and homework is super easy. A positive and breezy experience, good luck!
Make sure to write down examples done in class. Almost all the problems from the final were done in his lecture throughout the course. The first midterm was very easy, but the final was much harder. He is very passionate about math.
Very passionate teacher. He cares alot about this subject which made the class enjoyable. Midterm was 40% of final grade and Final was 50% so make sure to study. Lectures were clear and focused.
This class was very hard for me. You should know your definitions because he tests on those too. I would suggest to ask him for help if you don't understand anything. When he teaches, he writes down like theorems and definitions more than he shows examples.
great class but the exams are impossible.
Very good teacher who does a great job of explaining things. Midterm/final are hard but reasonable if you aren't lazy.
Frank is a passionate teacher. Very willing to help you with questions. Go to every lecture and section. It will help a lot. Don't be lazy. Midterm was pretty easy, final was on the difficult side. Not tricky, straight forward. Lecture examples may be confusing at times. As long as you study hard, you should be fine.
Frank is one of the best professors I've had at UC Santa Cruz. He is very helpful and more importantly he gets the students involved in his lectures.
His notes in class are very thorough and easy to comprehend. His tests on the other hand aren't that easy, but if you understand the material, they aren't so bad. The whole class is pretty fair.
Best Math teacher at UCSC, really explains the concepts well, tests are fair (he gives out practice). The material is hard, but that is just nature of multivariable calc.
I got a bad grade because I was a bad student, but Bauerle is a really good teacher if you actually pay attention to him.
Bauerle is a great professor, but unless you have a solid foundation in Calculus, I would strongly recommend not taking the online class. The absence of mandatory lectures and sections coupled with the courseload wasn't a great experience. The midterms were also difficult.
Best Math teacher I've ever had.
I took 19A online w/ Frank's lecture videos & wouldn't have made it through w/o them. Math 19B was one of my favorite classes I've taken here at UCSC. I actually looked forward to going to class even though it was at 8 in the morning. Just go to class & do the hw & you should be fine. Frank is an amazing lecturer & I really loved having him!!!!
He is a great teacher! Very passionate about math and made me passionate about it. He is very helpful and very clear, I wish i had him for all math classes.
Took him for both 12 A and 12B, passionate teacher with reasonable midterm/tests.
It isnt easy..
One of the best professors I have ever had. I really struggle with math but I constantly went to class and to his office hours and somehow came away with an A. Its funny because math is my weakness and it is pretty much the only A I have received at UCSC. TOUGH work though. Be dedicated, he wants you to succeed. Very nice professor.
Frank is a very good teacher and is very clear. His exams are very fair but the final can be a little difficult than the midterms. I received in both of his math 19 A/B online class. If you do the homework and use the ebook, you can do well in his class. He is approachable and overall, a good professor.
Good online class. He has lectures online that helped me with new material. Highly recommend to watch the videos before doing the homework.
His lectures are organized and easy to follow. Tests are fairly easy as long as you did past exams and homework.
He is very good
Online calculus coursegreat for shy people or people just too busy to deal with going to class everyday. He is helpful in answering questions on Piazza and the videos are very straightforward. Lots of opportunities to raise your grade. Gives you more exam time than you'll actually need. Online homework is very helpful so make sure to do it.
Great professor and extremely passionate but he can get sidetracked real easily and you end up not learning much. Tests are fair, he gives A LOT of homework and sometimes all he goes over in class are proofs so you don't even have an actual numerical example to help you out. He can get sidetracked in office hours too so it's better to see a TA.
Prof. Bauerle is a very fair teacher. If you read the book, attend section and go to his office hours, you will do just fine in the class. He gave out some extra credit online. The only thing I truly hated about this class that it was online and thus causing the exams to be answer only than truly showing what you know on paper.
I had him for 19a/b and 23a. His lectures are more theoretical but I think he did well explaining the material. This class is difficult but if you attend all the lectures, don't get behind, and do the HW you'll pass. He did a good job helping the class visualize the concepts as well. (suggest taking AMS 10/MATH 21 first if math isn't your thing)
His online lectures hurt, prepare to use kahn acadamy
Bauerle is an absolutely amazing professor. He is most definitely a genius, where I asked him to explain concepts beyond the spectrum of the course during office hours and he could whip out proofs for anything. His lectures are VERY IMPORTANT to go to. He explains the concepts very well and he just sounds awesome when he talks. Also DO HOMEWORK.
Great class all quarter. Great quizzes, great review sessions, and easy to understand homework questions. Pretty easy all quarter except the final. Unlike the midterm, the practice test for the final was not like the final exam.
Took the Online course, spent pretty good time on homework and studying for the midterm and final. Midterm was easy just know the formulas final was much harder. Go to the final review given by the better ta essential to doing good on the final. Never saw his videos learned everything from the textbook
You will get the grade you want if you read the textbook and do the work. I thought the videos were pointless because the examples from the book were more thorough. Overall easy class if you have taken calculus before.
NEVER TAKE THIS ONLINE! It's a trap, the lectures were horrible, the homework was incredibly long and hard for no reason. The book was confusing and barely any help was offered. I wish I didn't take this class. Did I mention the lecture Sucked, they were filled with useless info on the history of math and mathematical mistakes.
I took Math 19A fall quarter and it was online. It was a good class because you could re-watch all the videos. But since he explains the concept so well, I only watched it once. The midterm was so easy that I got a 105% (due to extra credit). I would recommend taking this fall quarter where it is online.
Had him for 19A, 19B in the 2013-2014 year. Took him again this past quarter for the online version of 23A. The class seemed to be, for the lack of a better word. unfinished. Alot of the homeworks didn't have solutions, and the material got much harder towards the end. Also doesn't curve, which was suprsing, because he does in 19A and 19B
I had him for 19B and 23A. He was very clear and organized. He went over proofs when introducing things more than other professors I've had for lower division math classes. He's enthusiastic about the material. A very good professor.
The online course was pleasant. Clear due dates, and lots of help were offered.
Nice online lecture, clear due dates but over a third of my class failed. Stay on top of your stuff, good professor but online class makes it easy to slack. Lot of help is offered.
I have nothing but good things to say about Bauerle himself, but the online format of this class made it the material difficult to grasp (at least for me). If you haven't taken calculus before, be prepared to work hard.
Took Math 19A Online the class was pretty difficult, but the curve on the overall grade helped. Online videos were somewhat helpful, I mostly relied on Khan Academy and the online textbook though.
Frank is a really good professor. His online lectures were pretty clear and straightforward. However, I've only had him for the online classes (19A and 23A). He doesn't seem to teach in the classroom as much anymore. Homework and online quizzes were easy. Midterm was really easy and had extra credit. The Final was really hard so definitely study.
I took this online, got a D, retook it in person with him and got a B. The online version of 19b was terrible. I was in the first class ever. In person Frank is a great professor who really cares about calculus. He wants to share its magic with you. He does so at a good pace. The exams are strange as none of the work is graded, but it's alright.
Frank does his part as a teacher to make sure students understand the material by making example problem videos and sending out announcements. I think he's a good teacher because he tests what you should have learned in the class, not what he expects you to know or what you might know from prior knowledge..
The video lectures that Professor Baurele made were very helpful and great for supplementing where the textbook falls short. He seems like a nice guy, but I never talked to him. He enjoys the subject and is good at conveying the topics.
the professor dose little real time work in the class. the resources provided are generally worse than what pops up on a google search. Frank gives problems even his TA's cant solve, and the book wont let you reread easily. the third party website cost extra and is the worst. just do a community college course online. I'm sure it cant be worse.
Took the class online. I felt as if everything that was covered in the class was fair. There was nothing surprising on the midterm and there were only one or two questions that caught me off guard on the final. Answers to questions on Piazza were helpful. If you do the homework and actually read the ebook, you'll be fine.
Midterm and final don't relate to course material. Online video resources aren't great and leave a lot to be desired. Skip the online class and take it in person if you haven't taken calc and want to pass.
This class was pretty difficult online, but I don't think that is an assessment of the teachers. I think its just because it was offered online and its harder to learn. Don't take the midterm for granted it will save your grade and study hard for the final. Average for the midterm was 77% and the final was 66%. Study hard and you should be fine.
I took this class online and mostly used the e-book to learn out of but the lecture videos were helpful as well. Pretty good class with lots of in person resources if needed. I've never taken a Calculus course before and I ended up with an A+. Just make sure you spend about 15-20 hours of studying during the days leading up to the midterm and final
Very test heavy (70% of grade). I took this online and it did not suit me or many other students as well. The final is extremely tough and the midterm is half as tough but still pretty hard. The only students who did very well were the people who took calculus already in high school. Piazza is very helpful, however, for any questions on homework.
The first class I took in UCSC. Make me unforgettable and get an A+ with works.
Harder than 19A but still like it
The class is clear but the work is hard. Frank is available in office hours. His TAs are usually motivated to help.
Had him for online 19A/B. Very clear, thorough teacher. Understanding, caring towards students. He wants you to pass. Initially adverse to online classes, after taking 19A/B with him/Tromba, more open to them. Very intelligent, respectable man. Great professor.
I absolutely hated this class. The subject is really hard and the professors and TA's aren't helpful. The online videos that they provide are often useless and unrelated to the homework. You are also forced to buy their online textbook in order to do the homework, however it is both expensive and glitchy. Go take this class in person.
My experience in this class was terrible. Their online textbook isn't even complete and they charge you for 80 dollars for it. You are pretty much forced to buy it because you need it to do the homework. I also ran into a lot of errors with the textbook which made the homework and quizzes a nightmare. I definitely don't recommend this class.
This class is absolutely ridiculous. Don't take it. The textbook doesn't help with anything, and there's no way you can prepare for the exams without simply reading everything a million times. If you're someone who is not good with tests, DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. THE TESTS ARE WORTH 70% OF THE GRADE.
curved me to pass the class, so nice
19A is pretty easy if you do the practice tests.
I think Frank gets lower scores than deserved because of the online calculus classes. MATH160 with Frank is my favorite class I've ever taken. He's eloquent and conveys information extremely well. Not only that but he is enthusiastic, engaging, AND approachable. The coursework has been dense, but he took time and care on all of the topics.
Frank was an amazing professor, he genuinely cares about his students and is really clear in his explanations. He gets too much flack for his online courses.
Graded based off 15% homework, 10% online quizzes, 5% ebook, 30% mid term, and 40% final. All the homework was due on Sundays and there was a quiz every other week due on Friday. Make sure to maximize your score on the mid term (Average score: 74.2%) because usually (at least for my class) it was easier than the final (Average score: 69.9%).
I took 19B online with Frank and it was an absolute joy. Calculus is generally a hard class for the average person but Frank and Anthony made this course very easy to follow. I highly recommend watching all the lecture videos and doing all the practice tests, because they tests are very straightforward if you've been keeping up.
The online coursework was heinous. Learning the abstract math concepts from the books is not something that you want to do for 10 weeks. The textbook itself was terrible. The textbook explained things in a circuitous manner. DO NOT take online vector calc at all!!!
This class is indescribable. It's the kind of class that I almost wish was at 8 am so that I'd be in a great mood for the rest of the day. Frank is great at explaining the intuition behind everything and his enthusiasm for the subject is contagious. I highly recommend this class for anyone interested in higher mathematics.
The classes grade break down is midterm(30%), final(40%), quizzes(15%), homework(10%), and ebook(5%). This is a do it yourself course. You learn the material off the online interface and text book you pay $80 for. The class takes some effort, however, the study guides for midterm/final are very clear and should be enough to pull off a B or higher
Took Calc 2 in Summer(5 weeks). The class is not that hard and you can get an A as long as you keep up with the lecture videos and homeworks everyweek. If you use other sources for homework credit (aka chegg, symbolab, wolfram alpha), you will find the exams hard.
Very poor experience with this class. I basically taught myself everything. These professors assume you know calculus already. It's so bad honestly.
He seems to be a great professor. However, the online curriculum that he and other professors have collaborated on is not good. The lectures are very general and does not really teach us how we should go about solving more complex problems that are on the exams. I do not recommend.
This is the UCSC Online class. There are no lectures--just how to videos. Homework and book are all online. Tests are proctored online and closed notes. Lots to memorize. 5 week summer is pretty intense. If you rely on lectures, I don't recommend. But if you are self motivated to learn on your own, its a great class.
This class is an absolute nightmare online!! There are no lectures so you have to watch videos that only help you understand *some* of the concepts, they are using a very borderline(and soon to be by the end of the year) website for hw and readings(readings are useless they are incomprehensible) TAs are your lifeline, you teach yourself tough luck
The only reason I got an A was because I did a ton of self study and referred to resources apart from the ones Ed gave. His went in circles about stuff completely irrelevant to what shows up in the exams. You ask him a question, he won't directly answer it. He might know math well but he seems to care more about rubbing that in than teaching.

Bauerle and the other profs teaching the class don't do much to teach the concepts. You have to self-learn as their lectures are irrelevant and unhelpful. The main issue though is their use of ProctorU, an invasive and problematic proctoring service that even lead to some students failing the class. Despite many complaints they refuse to budge.
All the profs basically ghosted us. They rarely interacted with the students. I DON'T recommend this class. All they give you is a textbook to pass the class. Math textbooks are always confusing. The class was a lot of self studying! Prof's lectures do not help. This class was very time consuming and a very upsetting experience.
Grade are make up by 40% on final, 25% on midterm. Professor barely explained the content, so basically learn by yourself. It is hard for people who have not taken any calculus before. If you had taken AP cal in high school, you will be fine.
Class can be particularly disadvantageous towards students who have not taken calculus before. Lectures and e-book content is filled with jargon and vagueness. Self-studying + going to TA hours is your best bet on passing and learning. Final can make or break your hard work as well, so don't procrastinate and put in the effort and you can succeed.
I took the online course. No zoom, but recorded lectures. Strict and lots of work. Unless you aren't willing to spend hours every day reading or watching videos textbook by yourself, you'll have a hard time. Lots of self-study. Pretend he doesn't exist. I missed a quiz and emailed him about him and he ghosted me. Practices tests/quizzes aren't bad.
A lot of recent experiences with the Math courses online are just going to be bad in general. The whole thing is confusing - and for someone new to calculus a class like Math 19a could be a frustrating experience. That being said, from those 2 videos ive watched this entire quarter of this professor, he seems pretty good. He sounds like fauci.
Didn't even know his name until writing this. Very hands off, TAs mostly graded I'm pretty sure. Lots of resources like forums, tutoring, and lectures. Lectures are prerecorded and posted. Have to buy textbook and access to HW. If you've never taken calc before good luck bc you'll have to teach yourself. Pls pls don't procrastinate or you will fail
not a bad course if you have previous calculus experience. the main reason why I did okay this quarter. This teacher's video lectures are not horrible, you can tell he likes what he does, but sometimes the HW are a higher lvl of difficulty than the lecture. Tests tend to be easier. Focus and do ur work & youll be ok. STRICT ON MAKE UP/LATE WORK !!!
The only B I've gotten in undergrad as a STEM major. I worked incredibly hard in order to achieve the best results possible, but with the way this professor set up the class (very hands-off, little to no opportunities to get extra help), I felt as if I was set up for failure. Would not recommend
Things to Know: - no calculators allowed on tests - know the unit circle (because no calculators on tests) - read the textbook AND watch the lectures - for the midterm and final exam, he gives past exams for practice as well as practice problems - do extra related rates and optimization problems when you learn it, because they are the hardest
Lectures are easy to understand, and I was able to follow the course without trouble, even though this was my first ever calculus course. If you only need 11A, you should take 19A with this professor because he will explain stuff better than any 11A instructor.
Online async class and the pace is good. Given lots of time to complete homework before deadlines. The final and midterm pretty much determines your grade. Only con is that the course/textbook is 80 bucks.
I took math 23a in Fall 2023. It was an online course using Achieve and it was pretty straightforward, similar to math 19a and 19b. A bunch of online assignments each week but very doable, 3 written assignments throughout the quarter, and a midterm and a final. Overall it was pretty easier if you followed along the lectures. Would recommend!
Frank is my GOAT.
The course was informative and the lectures were confusing, but understandable with some time. The quizzes and midterms were easy, and similar to the homework questions. However, the final was a lot harder, and a lot more conceptual than the homework problems. Also, he pulled from very specific hw problems. This tanked my grade A LOT.
The lectures are informative, but self-study is key. Utilize resources like the textbook, forums, and unstuckstudy AI to supplement the course. Attendance is mandatory, so don't skip class. Overall, a manageable calculus course if you put in the work.
I took 19A and I'm currently taking 19B online with Frank. The lectures provided aren't very helpful. At this rate I don't even watch the lectures provided, I just watch YouTube videos because they actually give me the information needed to do the homework. What makes the class doable is that its online and the late work policy is pretty lenient.
In all its a very basic online course and easy to follow, yet still a rough go. The use of the textbook in relation to the assignments were pretty rough (with the addition of a tight schedule). I've failed this course before and I am hoping to pass this time. Just take the in person, this is no easier.
Don't expect to interact with the professors at all. They have an online discussion platform where they lasily interact with the students. They make you buy a $80 online textbook, and have less than an hour of recorded lectures a week. Get ready to spend a lot of time doing homework and teaching yourself.
The online version of this class is a scam, the profs should be ashamed. It's 5 credit class with less than an hour of recorded lectures each week. The class is entirely through an awful customized online textbook (which they were paid to make) and a Q&A forum which they lazily respond. UCSC doesn't have enough discussion sections for it either.
I took his online 19b class and it was horrible there were multiple professors but it was so hard to get into contact with almost any of them. The exams were so much harder than the homework. Would not take again
Cool professor, go to office hours he is a very nice person and will help you. Online class, the midterm was ez, final was pretty difficult tho I studied a lot. Wish I could take an in person class with him, but i'm not sure if he teaches on campus anymore.
DO NOT TAKE 19B ONLINE IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO LEARN THE MATERIAL! Trust me, just wait to take this class in person. The lecture videos are awful(less than an hour of them per week), and you will have to teach yourself everything out of the textbook. You will unironically learn more from khan academy and YouTube then you ever will from this course

DONT take this class if you want to learn anything. I took 19A and 19B online bc I got unlucky with my enrollment time and this was the only option left. I have not learned anything from the textbook they have or from the assignments. They also don't provide any extra help and all their responses are basically just "look at the canvas".
Got a 89.92 in the class, A on midterm, HW, and quizzes. Final average was a 60 percent and i was 20 percent above the median. (81/100) and he didnt round it. Pathetic. I feel robbed. Such a waste. All he said was “there has to be a cut off somewhere”.
He rarely appears in any communication and is not helpful at all; the book cost me 80, ridiculous. Avoid taking him because of how he tough things by explaining the reason instead of the formula first; I spend millions of hours on understanding the reasoning, and it isn't gonna be useful at all in the test since u just need to memorize the formula
If you have an ok understanding of AP Calc AB, you'll do fine for the 1/2 of the course. The second half is entirely new material that the lecture videos do a poor job of explaining. Learned a lot more from the TAs and YT. Quizzes and midterms are unproctored. Final is proctored. Final wasn't too bad just make sure to study. It makes your grade.
Expect to either do a lot of self study or actually go to the discussion sections. Honestly, the discussion sections are the most useful tool you have, so long as they are in person (there weren't any this quarter). It is just so much harder to actually learn the material in an online discussion. Can't really say much else. This class was just ok.
I gained so much knowledge learning from 19A and 19B. The professors aren't as bad as I thought they were. To succeed, make sure to create study groups with your classmates and focus on studying for HW, quizzes and exams. I would like to encourage you all to attend discussion sections for extra support and review difficult math concepts. Good luck!
Nothing against the professor, I just had to learn on my own, if his videos work for some, then thats good, but myself and many I know couldn't relate. As long as you study hard you'll be fine. Perhaps doing the homework early too if you can, you'll have a lot more time to review since the class does have a lot of content in 5 or 10 weeks.
I have always been very passionate about math and pretty good at it as well. Taking this class sucked all the love for math I ever had. The lecture videos are just read straight from the textbook and do not prepare you for the homework questions and tests whatsoever. No partial credit for any amount of work or understanding, final answer or nothing
One of the few profs to still use ProctorU, which is essentially malware Homework annoyingly long and unhelpful Lectures were just read out of the textbook Textbook did not really prepare for the homework well Forced us to pay $80 for the eBook (you have to buy it to take the exams) Just take the class at community college. It's cheaper, too
as someone whose not the quickest with math and who struggles with online courses, 19B is miserable and the profs don't help. lecture videos are often a waste of time and homework is overly challenging/tedious. exam prep rarely looks like the actual exams, especially for the final where they love to throw curveballs.
first and only time in my academic career ive 'failed' a class, if you value your sanity DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I ended the course with exactly a 72.95% and received a D. Didn't realize until the final that their grading scale counted ANYTHING under a 73% a D (literally who does that). No extra credit/rounding, this class was literally the worst.
