great Professor!

Prof. Burke is great!! very easy to understand and easy exams. the review is pretty much the exam... HE IS THE BEST!!

Class is such a joke. It's all basic stuff and you probably know everything already. He basically reads you the tests at the review session before the tests....basically the only class you need to go to is the review sessions. Book is useless except for the lab manual which you actually use..

This professor is very easy, practically guaranteed A. If you attend class regularly and do not miss his test reviews, you will surely get an A. His tests are exactly what he gives on the review. Much better than other CSC profs at MCC.

This is the only professor for Unix Server and Shell classes. To be straight forward you will not learn how to program Shell and how to administer a Unix server. You will pass the class if you attend the class and the reviews. The class is very easy but not at all helpful for your future, I suggest you taking some Unix course somewhere else.

Professor Burke is caring and know his stuff. The textbooks are good. The best thing about this class is that it transfers. The biggest problem that we had was the late arrival of logins for the publishers web site and CDs.

So this guy is pretty easy. He tells you the exact questions that will be on the midterm and final so just copy those down and your good. You do have to do all of the labs, which can be kind of tedious, but they're easy. The first few classes you'll think he's crazy but eventually you'll start to like him. He's pretty goofy.

Great class! You use the lab book every class. I did not need the textbook. He is very understanding. If you do all your labs, power point presentation, and tests you are likely to get a very good grade. If your absent for no reason it will hurt your grade! Do everything that is asked of you and you will do well. I am pretty sure I will get A+.

No textbook use, however you must have the marquee 2010 spiral WORKBOOK and a usb! Dont get the textbook! You will also need the CD that comes with the textbook, so try to get that from some1 else.Just dont buy the textbook!

Final was harder than the midterm, so try and do very well on the midterm that worth 20% and the final is worth 40%. Do ALL the homework it helps in the long run! Quizzes arn't so bad. This is literally the definition of an "Easy A" class. Just show up and listen to him talk, or don't, you'll still pass the class anyway. Right before his tests he has "reviews" which are the exact same questions as the test. His "book report" is a joke, he doesn't even check what you wrote, he just looks that it's 2 pages long and full of text. A+

If you take CSC105 on the Interned with Burke buy your courseware before the start of class and set up your logins for Connect and Simnet immediately. He has the robot graders configured to deduct point for work submitted late. You have to stay on top of this class. People who don't get flunked at early warning time and mid term.

if you need to take CSC106, then this is best professor to do that with. He is kind, caring and wants the class to succeed. There is a lot of work, but we are in college and should expect that. He ensures we have what we need to succeed and responds to emails quickly unlike other professors. If you do not get an 'A', then you did not do the work.

This was a 7 week online class broken out into 3 sections, so a lot to learn in a short period of time. The professor is very helpful, is accessible via email and always ready to help when needed. If you have to take this class, this is the professor to take it with. You will work a lot, but also learn a lot - it is a college level. A must take.
