New Professor. He uses everything out of the book, including the tests and notes. 2 midterms + 1 final + (easy) homework. Curves grades, but tests are 50+ questions. Each test is ~8 Ch each. The course material is tough, but if you take notes, use the online resources with the book, and listen in class, don't even hold your breath for an A.

He might be the most monotone professor I've ever had, but the chillest. Gives the roll sheet in the beginning and doesn't care if you leave. First 2 tests are easy, final is difficult, but it's all on a very leniant curve. Easy!
He's laid back. It seems like he doesn't know much about the subject even though he's a lawyer. He's really nice though. REALLY easy homework. Attendance counts as part of the grade, but you can just sign in and leave. Grades on a curve. He's not helpful because we ask him questions and he just responds with "Is it? You tell me."
The professor is a really easy going, very nice and likes to tell jokes. He often lets the night class out early. His tests are based on the book and the study guides not so much on the power points. He also curves the grades so that was really nice.
Most relaxed teacher ever. Only three exams in the entire class and all of them are very similar to what is on the study guide.
He's very knowledgeable and accessible.
i think hes a great teacher. grades very easily and on a curve. with 20 points for attendance (you can sign in and leave) it should be an easy B. study guides useful and similar to tests. lets night class out no later than 9pm.
He passes an attendance sheet around every class. Talks straight from ppts however his exams are strictly from the book. his lectures did not help me very much. he provides helpful study guides and grades on a curve.A VERY NICE curve.
He's a really nice guy. But lectures are super boring. He reads straight off a powerpoint. You have to show up and at least sign in. He does curve. And he helps you review for the test usually the day before which prepares you way better than the powerpoints do
Prof. Cardinale is very dry & a bit boring, but a nice guy. U can sense he has a lot of knowledge n his field since he is a lawyer, but not very clear n what's relavent to the class & what's not. Simple A if you read the text. the ppts dont help much at all. 4 hmwk assignments & 1 test. BUY THE BOOK!
He's a pretty boring professor that seems like he has other things on his mind. You should go to class though because he takes attendance everyday and it counts toward the grade. He gives a study guide for each chapter we go over. That's all you'll really need to do well on the test. I never used my book and did fine. He curves as well.
Pretty easy class! didn't even read the book and still got a B! just went over the study guide! pretty laid back class!
I liked this class. Professor is easy going, not much homework and tests aren't that bad, you can gain a decent understanding of business law if you just pay attention (ie you don't have to do much) I got a B without any effort and skipping some classes.
Class was pretty much stress free. Lectures using power points and hands outs a study guide. Gives hints about what might be on the test (mc) but you still have to do reading to get an A. You have to sign in for attendance. Gives out a few case studies that you have to answer and submit by email/online. He goes over these cases in class afterward.
Really laid back. Uses sign-in sheet, but going to class won't really improve your grade cause his lectures are kind of boring. Exams are tricky, but if you pace yourself with reading, you'll do fine. Curves well. At least 1 case study per chapter, but you get credit as long as you turn them in. Not too complicated.
my only complaint about his class is that his lectures are very boring. Besides that, the class was easy and laid back. YOU NEED TO READ THE BOOK and you will get an A. He's really nice and helpful.
Very cool professor. His lectures can get boring, and his monotone voice doesn't make listening any easier. But he is very helpful and really wants you to learn and succeed. He is a lawyer and has a lot of knowledge in his field. Very easy class!
His delivery is boring, but he is kinda funny once in a while and he's a nice guy. His class is easy and he is easy going and he doesn't really care very much. It seems like he is just there for the paycheck. I got an A without much effort, his exams are curved and there are a few easy homework assignments.
Great guy! Low key. Not demanding. 3 exams, one paper, and some simple homework maybe twice. Dont let the exams fool you though. Its law so it can still be difficult for some. Take him! he is a bit dry at times but also can be funny. If you have a big load the ntake him for sure.Easy A or B for sure!
Class wasn't difficult. His lectures are pretty boring and sometimes goes off topic. I received an A in the class and definately had to study the book because test are fairly difficult but he grades on a curve. Class consisted of three exams, a paper and a few in class assignments.
He is very eazy going and funny which is nice but his tests are on the harder side. Alot of vocab and if you have no interest in business law it can get kinda boring. I didn't buy the book and I got a B, but I went to every class. I'd recommend him, not too bad.
3 tests and that's it. Very minimal HW (but watch beachboard Sunday). Use powerpoints and study guide. Don't buy book from bookstore. Buy publisher's book used off Amazon. It has 5 more chapters and costs $50 less. He doesn't use the CD. He's very nice & helpful over email or office hours. Doesn't give EC but curves it low (84% is an A). Got 94%.
This class was not supposed to be taught by him, but he was placed in at last minute. I learned NOTHING. This was a highly unproductive class and he took naps sometimes after he gave us some bs in class assignment. I honestly never knew what to study and it showed in the exams. If you want to learn, take someone else
Prof. Cardinale is a funny, easy going guy. Class was pretty interesting and he is a solid teacher. Class consists of quite a few HW assignments, but they are easy. Three tests, all MC, and pretty much just applies the vocab from the book into the test. Curved. Should be an easy A or B.
Laid back guy. Lectures weren't too bad just write down any points made during lectures because it'll probably be on the test. I found the book not to be necessary. Easy weekly assignments. I found the days where people don't go to class if you ask him to give you some test questions he'll go and tell you most of them. Would definitely recommend.
Nice guy, bad teacher. Easy assignments. Hard tests (3). Study well. Textbook not so important. Easy B. Offers curve.
His lectures are not effective therefore a lot of the students take many days off although there are a few important but easy in class assignments. Very little homework and it is easy as long as you have read the chapter assigned. Reading is the what will keep you on track, Gives study guides but they aren't too similar to the exam, nice curve
I really enjoyed Professor Cardinale. I learned a lot in his class about consumer laws. Attendance is not mandatory, but it's really the only way to get the information needed for the test. Great class and I recommend for a capstone.
Cardinale is a great professor. Only knocks I have on him is that he is very monotone and he emails you homework assignments pretty late into the week. Other than that I would recommend that you take him. His lectures do relate to the material but you still need to read the book in order to understand some of the concepts brought up in class.
Professor Cardinale uses good examples to help teach BLAW concepts. However, i would recommend buying the book to clarify further. Make sure you know the basic concepts/definitions for exams. Gives homework assignments that help boost your grade at the end! Overall, good guy!
I enrolled in this class thinking it would be one of my harder classes for my major, but it ended up being my easiest business class so far. Ended up with a super high A, because he boost our grades so much at the end of the semester. I didn't really need the book. His lecture helped the most for the test, esp exam reviews. Very helpful & chill
BORING! Monotone. You know those classes you took and thought "there is no way anything could possibly be worse than this"? Well this one takes the cake.
His lectures can be boring, but he's such a nice guy and he's really funny if you get him talking about real life examples. I used to book to help study for tests. There's like five homework assignments, all four questions and if you do it you get full credit. Curves at the end of semester. I say take him!
Cardinale is a laid-back professor, he doesn't assign a huge workload or give out many tests. His grading criteria is pretty clear: do the few in-class assignments and homework questions for easy participation points and focus on doing well on the tests and you'll end up with good standing in the class after the end-of-class curve.
Cardinale was a decent professor. We had some interesting discussions in class. To get an A/B make sure to go to class since the prof. basically tells you what you need to study from the book. Do all the homework, attend "participation" days, and study for the exams to do well!
This class was very easy and I got an A with minimal effort. I read the chapters a few days before the test, put the definitions into StudyBlue and went over them a few times. He tells you what will be on the tests and for two of them, even gave us several of the questions beforehand. He's a very nice guy. Just attend class and you'll do well.
Terrible. Monotone presentations and very boring. Nice guy but I feel like he doesn't even want to be there, which makes him seem like he doesn't care. Is not sure about questions you ask him, can't use his computer, bad handwriting. You have to read because he is not going to teach anything. Does class activities randomly, so you still have to go.
liked the lectures. I was talking to a few students in this class, and they all told me that they were getting straight D's and C's on the tests. Tests are pretty tough. I occasionally read the book. I also studied off of the power points. I got 1 F and rest D's on his tests and ended up with a C. Randomly gives out test answers week before test.
Boring and monotone. Lectures seem to not really relate to the exams. Doesn't give out study guides. When we do exam review, he ends up changing the information that he puts on the test anyways so the reviews are pointless. No one shows up or pays attention. Would not recommend
Somehow i managed to get a B when i failed 1 exam and got a D on 2 exams. His tests are based off the test bank, which i realized at the end of the semester. Do all the HW and extra credit, you don't need to try hard to get full credit. Multiple choice exams, you don't need the book. Non-graded in class group assignments. Curves, nice professor.
He avoids lecturing by doing in class activities that were either a negotiation practice (which we did 3/4 times) or a crossword puzzle (which we did 2/3 times). All lecture power points are online. Goes off topic consistently, which makes it hard to learn the material. Easy homework points. if you want to learn, take with another teacher.
Don't get the book, the slides are posted online. All you need to study for the exams are the chapter objectives and key definitions. Crossword puzzles can be useful to study for exams. The other in-class assignments aren't as helpful for exams but make the lecture more interesting. Yeah lectures are boring, but what do you expect from a law class?
Professor Cardinale is my favorite professor at CSULB. Homework is a case study every week, interesting topics and make you think. He gives you full credit as long as you turn it in. Lecture is fun, he shows us videos and gives us in-class discussions. Reviewing the chapter slides is helpful for the exams. I would recommend his class.
Professor Cardinale's class was my favorite this past semester. 3 exams total, and a small homework assignment based off a case almost every week -you get points based off having an opinion not being correct. If you want to get a good grade all you have to do is read each chapter &/or review the powerpoints he posts. Kind & helpful in office hours.
The material in itself isn't fascinating unless you enjoy learning about the legal environments surrounding businesses. Tests are difficult and are all application questions regardless of the fact that homework assignments are simply graded on participation. Attendance began to be counted for points this semester so show up to classes.
He has a very monotone voice and calm personality which makes his lectures hard to pay attention to. Kind of got the feeling he didn't really want to be there. Very nice guy, but his lectures are just him rereading the PPT. Tests are pretty difficult but he offers easy points through homework and attendance to help pad your grade
Take him. Provides all materially needed for the exam via his powerpoints and in class lectures. The first exam is the toughest. Second and third exam is more common sense and easier to grasp a handle on. Final (third exam) is cumulative; however, he makes 100% sure we know whats on the exam. I would take him if you have other hard classes.
Great teacher just one easy HW assignment per week and 3 tests.
Good Professor. HW for the first half of the semester. It's just Mindtap HW, so it takes around 20min. Very doable. The 2nd half of semester is just lectures and tests. He does give you a vocab list as a study guide. He gives practice exams to give students a look of what to expect. I only studied the vocab and ended up passing with a C.
Prof. Cardinale is a bit monotone, however he made class during COVID so much easier and he is super understanding. There are 3 exams including the final, if you pay attention during lecture you should be fine. Attendance not mandatory but I recommend it. Homework due Sundays, but not every week. Homework is easy only graded for credit no grade.
Super easy-going professor! He has a mono-toned voice so lectures can be a drag but he clearly shows what is on the tests. There is one easy assignment per week and he grades on completion!
He's a super chill professor and he's really nice. He's not a bad lecturer, it's just that the material itself is a little boring. There's only homework once a week, we go over it in class, and he answers any questions. He's very informative and I would definitely recommend. He lets you know what's gonna be on the test clearly.
Really nice guy, just very monotone which makes it a little hard to focus. Theres not much required to pass the class as long as you do the easy HW assignments and understand the key terms in lecture for the tests. I wouldnt necessarily say its an easy A but a doable B for sure.
Very nice, knowledgeable man. Provides you with everything you need to know for exams, exams are pretty easy if you pay attention. HW assignments are pretty simple too. Intering topics he provides real life examples to help understand
The prof is the sweetest. He's like that uncle or whatever that may be boring but still gives good advice/great mentor. This isn't the easiest class because it's a law class but I would still recommend him.
I had him for BLAW 220 so I decided to take him for CBA 400. He barely teaches the concepts and expects you to learn them outside of class. Class sessions were pretty much useless but the material is easy to learn. Overall he's a nice guy but it seems as if he doesn't care to thoroughly teach us the chapters.
I thought that Business Law was going to be my most boring and difficult class but professor Cardinale made the class interesting and simple. The homework is super easy so the bulk of your grade hinges on your tests. As long as you put in the effort to study a bit you should be fine.
He's a very solid professor. BLAW isnt a interesting subject but he talks about real wrld scenarios which makes it a bit interesting. Test arent hard, but study the book, specifically the key terms. Also, studying the case scenarios are helpful as well. HW is very easy, 20 min per week max. Make sure to come to class cuz he gives EC on certain days
The HW is opinionated so easy 100% and the tests are ok as long as you study. Average 70% on each test. Final has alot of questions but not too hard with some stuff from precious exams. Overall chill dude and not so hard of a class.
Professor Cardinale is a very laid back and chill lecturer. Homework is interesting and easy, but the tests are a bit more difficult. Overall, easy C or B, but you will have to work for an A.
My experience was pretty good! The professor doesn't go through the slides often, but would always tell us what concepts will be important to know for the exams. He's laid back & would show videos related to the chapters. In my experience, the book wasn't needed. He gives small group activities in class that are graded.
Professor Cardinale reminds me of toby from the office. He is laid back but experienced in the field. He cracks jokes sometimes and gives extra credits for those who attends the class. Grades are based on 10 homeworks (all opinion based), and 3 exams. The exams are kinda hard but study the vocabularies and you will be prepared.
Professor Cardinale is very laid back and easy going. As long as you put in a little bit of effort you will pass no problem. As with any class you will have to read and prepare but the tests are pretty easy and straight forward. Definitely take this teacher
He's a very nice and funny guy but I will admit his lectures are pretty boring most the time. Opinion based homework that he gives full credit for trying. 2 midterms and a final. His tests are actually pretty hard, so I would recommend studying a lot for them.
Grade is made up of 24% homeworks (ten of them, due every sunday night), 24% for the two exams, and 28% for the final. The final is cumulative. Professor is super nice and caring, but his lectures are difficult to understand because he just has key terms and he explains the key terms orally. This can be helpful but you really need to pay attention.
The class is boring. Lecture is reading off slides. Very soft voice, makes it hard to listen. MAY give freebies for exams. Homework opinion based, easy points. 2 midterms 1 final (cumulative), they're super hard.
Really enjoyed his presence. He has homework assignments almost every week but they are graded on participation not accuracy. There are two midterms and one final. The tests are not easy if you do not read the textbook.
His lectures are a bit boring and he can go off topic sometimes, but if you attend the lectures, he talks about what's going to be on the exams. The homework is based off completion, which are easy points. His exams are pretty tricky, so know your vocab. His exams are based on a lot of quizlet questions and vocab.
Cardinale Professor is one of the most caring and respectful professors at CSULB. I learned to love the Law but it is not my major. I would definitely take it again.
Lecturer Cardinale is a good professor, but lectures can get boring, leading you to distract yourself with other things. However, lectures are essential to your passing this class, so if the class has a discord, I highly recommend joining it!
lectures aren't mandatory but prof gives example test questions so you should attend. lectures are pretty boring. read the textbook to better prepare for the tests. homework is every week, prof usually gives 100% . tests are pretty difficult, cover a lot of material so study. prof is a sweet old man and really chill. gives participation ec for hw
Professor Cardinale is a very interesting lecturer, he is engaging, and truly cares about his students' performance. He will make himself available to you for questions, and appreciates engaged students during lectures (especially on zoom.) There were no surprises in this course, if you need any course Professor Cardinale teaches... take it!
Take him!!! His lectures are so amazing and you can easily understand and enjoy the class. He cares about his students. Take him and you'll do well.
Took him for BLAW, Business Ethics is exponentially easier. Class was only 30 people as opposed to 120 for BLAW. One day a week we'd watch a video on youtube about an ethics thing and do a lecture and the other day we'd do an in class activity. Weekly homeworks due on sundays which are super easy. The easiest class I took this semester!
Most of your grade comes from the exams and there are three (Exam 1, midterm and Final). The final IS CUMULATIVE. Few HW assignments based on your opinion. Attendance not mandatory. If you keep up with the HW and the readings you can pass this class easily with a B or higher.
super ez course. class was mainly on study cases you get together w/ 2 ppl. if you want the pts attend class. if not skip. he barely lectured but when he did he always showed what would be on the exams. A con is that he inputs grades slow. chill course, nice professor. doesn't curve.
Nice old man but doesn't prepare class properly for exams. Class average is usually a D or C across all sections. Attendance not mandatory but he shows some test questions in class for those who show up.
Really nice old guy, some funny moments during class. You don't have to show up, but sometimes he shows practice questions to prepare for the test. Tests though you probably have to read all the notes over again cuz they are impossible to prepare for and know what is on them.
Great Professor , he is so sweet and honest and has a very clear grading criteria the class is very test heavy and mainly depends on the exams. Attendance isn't mandatory but will help you with test.
Lectures were a little boring, he's soft spoken, and inconsistent when going through the slides, but slides are accessible online. Nearly homework each week, but it's opinion based, no wrong answers. Three tests, two midterms and one final, mainly about certain terms. Sometimes goes over test questions in class. Do keep the textbook handy.
I was very upset about taking this course, I heard lots of good things from past students but I believe he lost his spark. He's very quiet and boring throughout class. I had to reteach myself on most topics with the textbook. He's kind but not engaging enough for me. He moves through lectures fast, doesn't go over cases, and will give out test Q's
Great guy, deserves 4 stars at least. Class could be a little boring sometimes but he always had some good jokes in him. Attendance was not mandatory but some days was for participation credit. Your grade heavily depends on Tests and Homework, usually only one assignment every week that takes about 20-30 to complete.
honestly a pretty good professor. lectures can be boring + dull but he does go over test questions that are the same he puts on the midterms. there are days where he assigns group-work that is put as extra points for the final exam. no mandatory attendance + homework is all opinion-based and full credit is given as long as you do the bare minimum
he was just so dull. lectures were sometimes confusing to understand and he just spoke so dull. he did a long jump one time so i guess that's something. there was hw due on Sunday but eh maybe it was also my fault but no matter what i did, the concepts were hard for me to comprehend sometimes.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this professor. We don't learn anything useful in class — most lectures feel like a waste of time. The in-class activities are pointless and don't help with understanding the material at all. When it comes to exams, there's barely any preparation or guidance on what to focus on, which leaves you feeling lost
Be prepared to teach yourself everything. Reads off of slides but says a lot of it is irrelevant, skips over a lot. (same goes towards the syllabus). So you won't even know what exactly to teach yourself. Study guide is just a list of terms. Homework every week 5 pts, 3 exams 50 pts each. Going to class every day won't save you (from experience).
Honestly i'm so surprised he has a 3.7 rating. Genuinely, should not be teaching at the age he is. Goes off topic a lot, skips over slides, and says a lot of his own slides “don't matter”. Never knew what was important to study for the HEAVILY weighted exams compared to the small assignments he gives. That's all you're graded on.
He's such a nice guy. Went at a slow pace and very easy to take notes. Gives 3 exams with the final being cumulative. I personally have trouble understanding law, but all you gotta do is memorize the terms and you'll be good. He also gave out in class extra credit, very easy. I recommend using the textbook not the study guide, he skips some terms.
went to every lecture and here's everything u need to know: older guy, talks slow. hw every sunday(5pts each), 3 exams (40-60pts each). attendance not mandatory. 5 people in class by end of sem. no point in going. study guide is whole page of words. exam is hypothetical scenarios. learned nothing. memorize the “practice problems” shown in class😉
Very nice guy, understanding and has office hours ! Lectures can get boring but he cracks a few jokes and its not mandatory, he does extra credit towards the end for showing up and doing activities :) Mid terms can be difficult especially the second one but manageable if you study a week prior and homework is easy.
This guy is too old to be teaching at this age. He sent out an email on canvas saying students failed to come take the final exam but that's because he never sent an announcement when our final exam would be or take place at. Lectures are not worth attending. He fails to make important updates when needed.
3 exams, final is cumulative but not bad. He is super kind. Class is mostly used for assignments that you need to be there for (attendance mandatory) if you want the points. The tests are based on his powerpoints which are not gone into too much depth in class, so you need to study those on your own but the material is easy.
This professor failed to announce important dates especially for final exams and told us that no students showed up to class on the day of the final when he didn't do his role on sending out an announcement on where or when to take the final. He reads through the slides and go off topic. Teaches very slow and half of the students don't even show up
He is such a sweetheart. Don't really have to pay attention in class and all you do is group worksheets about 1-2 per class and they are super easy. Tests are 40 question multiple choice common sense.
Very chill professor. If you just show up to class and do the bare minimum you'll for sure pass. Never really used the textbook. Homework was super easy and there were no right or wrong answers. Exams were moderately easy you'd probably struggle if you skip class a few times, since he doesn't put much info on the actual slides.
Lots of in class assignments so you do have to go. Graded mostly by 3 scantron MC tests. He is also one of the most caring professors I have had. He is willing to go an extra step to help you as long as you take some initiative. His long legal past makes him well versed on what he is teaching, and you can tell he knows what he is talking about.
