mr. cerutti is the best!!! he is so cool and nice. his class was so easy. it was my first college class, and i couldn't have asked for a better teacher. he is the best and he really knows what he is talking about, he's been to almost everywhere in the world. he is awesome, believe me take this class!!!

Cool guy, very clear on his assignments... and offers many opportunities for extra credit. He really seems to enjoy what he teaches. He's laid back for the most part, you just have to stay on top of turning in assignments. If you're not a good test taker, DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. It's not that hard.

Awesome professor knows his stuff, i love and know western civi he really impressed me. all u have to do it attend class, if not do the extra credit, print out the power points they help a lot only 1 exam, 1 project, 2 papers there not hard at all u can always do extra credit to bring ur grade up (mostly on movies) easy and knowledgeable

Great Teacher! Classes were typically lecture via powerpoint. You could print them out from blackboard and take notes on them. Interesting class! You write 2 papers, have 1 project and 1 final. There is a lot of extra credit you can do to boost your grade! You can miss 1 class before it starts affecting your grade, he takes attendance every class.

great teacher, knows a lot about history, has travelled the world. makes the class interesting, fun and is very funny. he's an easy going laid back teacher, but you learn a lot. if you do well on everything AND do a lot of the extra credit you most likely will NOT have to take the final exam! its a really great class!

His class is easy and he gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. However, he doesn't seem to know a whole lot about history except for what's in the book. If you're religious, don't take his class because all he does is bash religion (with false explanations) everyday

Cerutti is the man!! I took his 121 with another proffesor and failed and took it again with prof. Cerutti and passed. He's funny and makes the class exciting. He offers a lot of extra credit so it's almost impossible to fail. He has one final and one research project. thats it!! If I could take him again, I would. DEF recommend him!

i dont know how people can rate him bad. He makes it clear that in life, things happen and you cant always be in class 100% of the time.That's life.He is funny,polite and i learned a lot of new info in his class. Do your project right (and by right i mean not the night before and expect an automatic A on it) and extra credits are friends.

Awesome professor and very funny. Tons of extra credit so even if you do bad on everything it can definitely help you get an A. You can be exempt from the final with enough extra credit points but if you have to take it you have to study hard to pass. 2- 1pg papers, 1 major final project, and a final exam which is optional.

Easy Instructor. All info and lectures done with Powerpoint. Givesout a ton of extra credit to such an extent that I did not have to take the final exam. There is 1 big Project, 2 1 page papers and no mid term exam. Very easy instructor. A few errors on his powerpoint though so back up info provided with the book unless you already know the answer!

Prof. Cerutti is one of the best teachers at Nova EVER. He doesn't give any exams or quizes but you will have to write 2 papers and couple assignments due at the end of the semester. He gives plenty of extra credit. Very fun and easy, I took him and now my brothr is taking with him.

Mr. Cerutti is a wonderful professor. But you need to work hard. Man he's an awesome teacher. He grades on a point scale; 2-attendance, 2-two reaction papers (easy as pie), 4-history presentation, 4-final exam (have the opportunity to opt out of the final for 4 extra credit movie papers). If I needed 102 I would definitely seek him out. Class was full all semester!

Just took him for summer ! He truly is fair in the grade he gives and has a system to where if you take enough extra credit and do it you wont have to take the final exam. Cerutti makes the class fun and simple, collect 12 points and you automatically get an A! 2 points for attendance, 4 points project (no presentation), 2 points for 2 reaction papers (single page), and the rest of the points can be obtained with movie reviews, museum visits, etc. Overall easy class but a little time consuming, but totally worth it!

I've attended more than 100 college classes and seen various teaching styles. Cerutti is the best teacher ever! I loved to engage in the class because he loved to know each of us and our ideas. If he was not teaching from PowerPoint but writing on blackboard, it couldn't be better.

Professor is nice. Be ready for some liberal political lecturing as well along history. If you are not liberal or disagree with any of the liberal standings don't take this class it can be very opiniated and tiresome at times.

Show up for his class even if its the last few minutes. Watch a couple of movies and you won't need to take the final. He gives only 2 very easy assignments and a final project and he goes over it in class.

Such an amazing teacher!!! I hated history till I took him!!!

Dr Cerutti is one of the best prof. at NOVA, who knows how to teach. His lecture is amazing and informative. He is funniest and gives you alot of opportunities to get an A. too may extra credit, Historical movies and one major project. if you get 12 points you don't need to take final. I used to hate History but he made me to love it. I Got an A.

I took both 101 and 102 and the classes were great. It made me more interested in politics. Everyone should take these courses.

Professor cerutti is a great professor. He is very passionate about history and his lectures are very off script and interesting. Laid back grader, but you still have to pay attention and follow the readings. I can now annoy my coworkers with all the architectural features of almost every building I see in dc, and I owe that to professor Cerutti.

Amazing teacher, aslong as you DO the extra credits which he has like 5 of you are no way going to get a B in the class, easy, fun and funny . Just do extra credits HE IS EASY A JUST DO EXTRA CREDIT gives you chance to do work again and did i mention DO extra credit and BTW no exams

Professor Cerutti is a great professor. He goes by a point system up to 12 points for the course. Offers lots of extra credits. Attendance, two assignments, one project, and a final. If you get the full 12 points from extra credits and/or do the assignments, you don't have to take the final.

About to finish for Fall 2017. The only professor I've had thus far that truly makes me learn what they're teaching just by talking. He gets super engaged with the class and offers inspirational lectures. Very funny guy, also very liberal. So so SO many extra credit opportunities, if you do a few of them you can be exempt from the final!

He is very good. I took him for HIS 101 and 102. I wish he would teach other history classes as well. Grade score is 20 points. Do the work and you WILL get the points. No work 0. Impossible to fail in this class. You will definitely have a C or higher. Interesting and fun lectures.

I've never been so WOKE. You can tell he's very passionate about history which makes it all better. Extra Credit will be your best friend. I learned more in this short class about history than I have in other classes where you take an exam every month and do HW every week. His way of teaching is about engagement and participation. Honestly made coming to class something to look forward to- this guy is absolutely hilarious. Tougher grader when it comes to the final project, so on that I'd advise not to mess around on, but otherwise he's a relatively easy on everything else and makes sure you know what he's looking for and is always willing to help. Would gladly take him again

His classes are the best! He is very funny and smart. The class is based in 3 reaction papers which is a one-page essay divided into 3 paragraph, pretty easy to follow. Lots of extra credit that will make u skip the final. There is one project due at the end of the semester which its easy too but it requires time. He counts attendance.

Professor Cerutti is a really chill and down to earth. He does not just show the PowerPoint and read whats on there. He actually teach history by using his own words. He also teaches a lot of facts. One of the best professors at NOVA. I took his 8 week course, and I really enjoyed his class. As long as you pay attention and do some extra credit, it should be an easy A.

I took his summer 6 week course. This class is not challenging but you have to do the assignments. 3 writing assignments which is 1 page and 2 worksheets which is easy. Final project he gives you everything about the buildings pay attention. No test or quizzes. Do extra credit to skip the final and attendance is not mandatory but you get points.

I took 6 week class which was too short. All lectures were amazing. He is very funny guy. There were 5 writing assignments, one architecture project, and an optional final exam. If you complete 5 points for extra credit, you do not need to take the final. Easy A, go for it!!!!!

Coming from someone who hates history, this professor makes the class fun. I look forward in going to class because of how interesting he makes class. He is super cool and understanding.. He isn't an idiot though so don't try to take advantage. However, take him if you want to pass. There is work, but he's clear on what needs to get done.

6 weeks summer class. If you have difficulty writing papers this may not be the class but all CIV 101 are the same. However, he is very helpful and there is extra credit. 3 papers on analyzing and personal reactions to epics/stories and homework. Great professor & lecture. My rating is based on the virtual classes. Mr. Cerutti is an amazing professor. He really loves history and is very knowledgeable about what he teaches. Yes, there is a lot of work to be done, but he is not a tough grader, unless you dont try. Participation really matters in class and the papers and movies he assigns are good. I learned a lot.

I Took HIS 101 online and HIS 102 In-person with him. then My brother did the same, now 5 of my other friends are taking the same courses with him . he so nice and caring. You might think that HISTORY Class Is boring, me too, but his class is so fun and engaging that you don't want to miss it.

6-week summer class, best decision I made. Class was at night and he kept the whole class awake, entertained and his laugh is so contagious. 6 HW, 4 Papers and lots of extra credits, do them and skip the final. Attendance is mandatory during class as well as participation. I ended up loving the class 1000% God Bless prof Cerutti, it was a pleasure!

This is by far the best teacher I have ever had in NOVA. He is an actually professor who would explain the assignments and tell you who to do well in it. It will require time for reading.There is a final project in where I would recommend to start early. Do not procrastinate any assignments. If you put the work for it you will receive a good grade.

This is an awesome history professor, you will learn a lot in his class because he is very knowledgeable and you can tell that he is passionate about history as well. 4 reaction papers and a few homework. Took HIS 112 as a seven-week online class, wish I took him in person! Grades very generously on big assignments. I turned in a 50 point assignment 2 days late (only late assignment) and he gave me full credit even though syllabus said otherwise. Always left praising comments on detailed work. No tests, only two lengthy writing assignments.

I love this class and learned a lot. No percentage, only points- 10 points for attendants, 40 points for 4 reaction paper and 30 for 6 HW. Then you have chose, you can ether do the extra credits assignments to gain 10 points (optional) or take the final to get a "A" if you want (optional). Thank you so much Professor, it was an amazing class.

Took online class and if you had your camera on he wouldn't require participation, but if you did not have your camera on you had to talk through the chat. Had to write 4, 1 page single space "papers" throughout the 17 weeks and all to them took me around an hour to complete. That was the hardest part of the class. great professor and great guy

pretty straightforward, would post videos every fri to let us know what's upcomin, lots of discussions but you can either do 4/7 or all for a better grade. can be a bit of a harsh grader with comments and lowers your confidence but just do your work as described and you'll be fine!one proctored midterm, one final, and one final research project.
