Excellent Professos. I took him in the fall 2001 and still I have to say he is one of the best Professor ever! Everyone in class retakes hes classes, There is work in the class to be done, but he makes sure you understand, and that makes it easy and fun!

It is true that he is a great professor, I took him for English 50.2 and then for English 100. Hope you can take his class if you need a English course.

If you need to take english 100 then take Dr. Gaik. He allows the students to make some choices on what to write about as well as his lectures.He awakens a interest in the students to enjoy writing and to challenge your abilites in writing. Fun class.

He is very helpful, I had lost all my material and he just gave me a day to finish my work, however when he graded my work he considered my situation....I got a B in the class...and am not very good in english. Its only cause he was a great professor.

"think outside the box" that's what he always says. He knows how to teach effectively. take him for all your english course if u can. You'll learn alot and get a easy A. mtrust me..

Absolutely loved this professor... he's the reason i changed my major! It's true, he does let you change your paper as much as you can. He's more interested in you learning from your mistakes than you getting an A+ i think. very nice and highly passionate about his work.would recommend any time.

Great teacher, the type that will make you think and reason rather than memorize the class material. Teaches you how to analyze and interpret lessons, giving you freedom of thought and speech. He is ver specific as to whathe wants for every lesson and if you keep up with your weekly assignments you may not need to take a final. Fun, fun!

Great english teacher, motivated me to do well in college as well. He lets you re-do your assignments and gives you advice on how to really write a good paper. He's just one of those good teachers on campus that really uses his heart. Currently taking ENG101 with him.

This teacher is great! I personally received an easy A. I believe he chooses favorites (my friend and I must have been one of them). Other than that, it was an excellent class. He was really funny. Text books are needed. A good amount of homework, but not difficult. Just short essays. One long paper, though... make up your own story! :)

He makes the class fun,he gives you chances to do extra credit if you score low on a test.He's very helpful,funny and helps you to get an "A" in his class.He gives 5 point quizzes after each reading.I highly recommend you take him for any English class he teaches,he's a great teacher.

He is a fun, good teacher, and I enjoyed his class. The books that he chose were great, which I finished before the we needed to. There are some group projects, and he helps you and meets with you to discuss your grade. Glad I took him.

I loved this class. He is an amazing teacher. I also took a few english courses taught by his wife Dr. Linda Palumbo . Both are very similar in thier styles of teaching and both care about their students success.

Professor Gaik is great! He is very interested in reading and literature. He makes the class very enjoyable. I went thru some personal problems during the semester and he had no problem arranging other times for me to attend classes and turn in hw...very caring guy. totally recommend him

This guy is great! He truly thinks more liberated from most english professors. He is a white guy not that it matters but his interest in other cultures strikes me as a positve difference for a Ph. D. white male. Do all the essays and you should get an easy A. If you dont like the grade, guess what??? Do it again to get a better grade.

He was a great teacher and I would recommend him to other students. He gets you out of class at decent times and the book choices were pretty good. Papers werent that hard to do and he lets you revise til you get the grade you want. :)

By far the best professor I have had. He is so nice and friendly, easy work but certainly teaches you a lot. Just make sure not to text during his class because he won't tolerate that. he is funny and very down to earth!

Gaik is very kind. Before taking his class I had the mindset that breaking stone was easier than writing poetry. Although good poetry is not easy to write, once you believe in yourself and just give yourself the opportunity it becomes a much easier task. This class will help you explore your creativity. Gaik and Palumbo are awesome by the way!

I love this man!!! One of the greatest professor you will ever have. He is clear & awesome. One of the only English teachers who honesty has a PHD so he knows his stuff. Never makes students feel like they can't always motivating us. I'm going to take all his English classes his the best !!!!!! Oh and his so good it's hard to get into his classes.

In the beginning, he may seem a little rigid. Overall, he is an awesome professor. Will take the time to talk about the subject. Grades individuals based on their level of writing and understands that not all students are English majors. Incorporates modern instances to elaborate on ideas.

Prof Gaik is a smart man who is very kind and patient with his students who shows interest in his teachings. He will try his best to help you if you have any questions. He does care about attendance. Hes also pretty funny. Make sure you read the papers he tells you to print out.

Gaik incorporates movie clips for analysis. He also provides handouts to read. Keep all the handouts he gives out, they will be useful for tests!

He is a great teacher although i do not like how he only gives you 2 DAYS to write an essay, Come on man many people have jobs and other classes to attend to were not able to write an essay in 2 DAYS . Other than that he is ok.

This professor communicates through direct e-mail that gives a more personal interaction with his students. The amount of work in the beginning may seem a little overwhelming at first, but once you get over the initial hump of writing the first few essays, you'll know what to expect and the essays become easier to do overtime. Just don't be lazy.

Professor Gaik is an amazing English Professor I have ever had at Cerritos College. He likes helping out students when they need help and he provides very well constructive feedback. Dr. Gaik is THEE best English teacher I've ever had. You don't encounter many who teach with fervor! Tip: Pay attention to his slightest ramblings during lecture time. If, at times, it seems boring to you, just know that I guarantee to you what he's talking about is informative and expands your perspective on a particular perspective.

Best English professor I've had so far, he's a little tough but he only does it because he prepares you for future success in future English classes. I'm taking English 100 now and thanks to him it's easy and I'm good at writing papers. I would retake him for all my English classes if I could!

Dr. Gaik is truly an inspirational figure. He pushed me to become a better person every day. His writing assignments aren't the easiest, but he really pushes you to come up with some great stories. Thank you Gaik...I've taken eng 52, 100, and 103 with him by the way. Truly recommend him.

I recommend Professor Gaik if you want to learn something new. Going into class I found that Dr. G is a great guy, and teached the class more than English he was able to bring everyone together in a collaborative effort to further our knowledge. Get to reading, and take a couple hours out of your day to think about your next assignment to pass.

Prof Gaik is very kind and gives good feedback on your essays. My only major complaint is that he doesn't grade you properly, making you unprepared for harder English classes. For example, he doesn't dock off points for grammar errors and gives out 100s like they're water. So now I/otherppl don't know if we can actually write since its all "great."

I was dreading taking English, specially since I've been out of school for a long time. Prof. Gaik made the class clear, educational and fun. He offers a lot of extra credit points, will help you if you have late assignments, but everything is has a due date of a week so I don't understand why people fell behind. will give great feedback on your hw

I took Professor Gaik's online class, and I can honestly say he is excellent mentor. Be ready to read and write a lot, but this will only help you to pass this course if you apply yourself. Professor will assist you with any questions and concerns, as he is dedicated to helping his students achieve their best. I highly recommend taking his class.

Dr Gaik is a wonderful teacher. So smart, and truly cares about his students. You will be doing quite a bit of reading and interpreting in class and at home.
