An amazing teacher! He has high enthusiasm, is very clear and if you don't understand something he will always help you out. Easiness really depends on your skill level, if you suck at algebra, you'll probably have a semi-hard time lol either way this class is awesome and i recommend it :]]
He's a great guy, but he tends to get off topic sometimes. It's funny when he goes into one of his rants, but it's distracting. If you're good at Math, take him. If not, consider going to a tutor while taking it. But don't get me wrong, great guy!
I totally adored Gonzalez! Super nice, always in his office if you need help. Went off on crazy hilarious tangents, but it kept things interesting! Fun teacher, not too hard, but I would have done way better if I'd done the homework; otherwise you get so lost. Gives you all the odds on the homework, too.
Frank is an awesome teacher. He challenges you which is a breath of fresh air in a community college. He wants you to know and understand the material. And the man knows what he is doing, let me tell you. We all know math can be boring, but he makes it fun and interesting. You need to be in class or you'll be lost.
Awesome guy!Agree with all the previous comments.Gets off topic sometimes.Precalc Hon, in HS was way harder than this guy.Quizzes can be fairly hard but the tests are based on the quizzes for the most part and are a bit easier as the question aren't as deep. The final comes from the exams. His final are pretty hard. U Need good foundation for class.
He is the best math teacher I had ever have!!!! I never got A in math before this class!!!! Very nice and helpful. His lectures are very organized and useful. Great teacher!!!!!
He seems always in a rush to cover all the material, so there is no time to answer questions. He does put 1-15 practice problems up and spends 10 minutes making you do them. Instead he should put 3 up of all ranges of levels, and spend time answering peoples questions.
the "frank show" is seriously entertaining. he does need to learn how to pace his classes better, but overall he is a great teacher and explains the material competently. be prepared to study the material on your own if you expect to do well. grades very fair. if you are into math he will share all kinds of extra cool tidbits.
Best teacher ever!!!!!! Recommend!!!! He is very nice and helpful!!!! Put enough efforts and you`ll get A!!!!!!!
cool teacher makes math fun but not my subject
Just finished the spring semester. Great teacher. Thoroughly enjoyed his class. Would definitely recommend him.
Awesome professor, laid back, easy going, you can be late. Homework is due once a week, he assigns ODDS, if you miss class you can get the lesson online, with his examples, definitions & practice problems. VERY EASY to take notes. Everything is explained clearly, tests&quizzes are short, the final's cumulative, review is very in depth. Recommended!
Frank is hilarious and really helpful. He takes a horrible class and makes it bearable!
Great teacher. Really helpfull easy, adn funny too.
Prof. Gonzalez may be a funny guy, but his teaching skills leave something to be desired. He does not teach the same as the textbook does, so it leaves you lost if you have any questions at home. He does not offer any extra credit, and does not drop lowest test grades. He teaches as if you already are supposed to know the material. Not recommended.
excellent teacher. You need to work to get your A in his class. He doesn't give grades away. Funny and class goes by fast. Doesn't go by book but if you practice hard enough you will be fine
Mr. Gonzalez is a nice teacher he care about his students so much. He is fluent in Spanish language, and in case if you do not understand something because the language, At the end of the class he help you in your language. Thanks teacher for been so nice and good teacher.
i think hes supppper nice!i suck at math but he helped me out:)
Prof. Gonzales is a good teacher. If you are willing to study in his class, he will help you a lot during office hours. Be ready to study a lot in his class. Don t expect to have an easy A. I have my A in this class because i put a huge amount of time studying.
Favorite Teacher of ALL time! He teaches in easy steps. Will not move on until everyone completely understands. He actually wants every student to understand & leave with an A. Very motivating teacher, very helpful. 4-5 question Quiz every Tuesday, super easy! Hw worth 3pts. Hated Math until him. If u do HW + Participate in class= A in class easy!
Extremely funny and chill professor, always has great in class jokes and stories..3-4 sections of HW due once a week, short fairly easy quiz every week, SOMEWHAT HARD test every 4weeks..very simple class and attendance is not mandatory, you get the grade you work for.
Really good teacher, and nice guy. Doesn't grade tests promptly, but otherwise he's great.
Extremely funny and interesting teacher. But always off topic. Have essay question in your exam. A lot of homeworks to do. Grade your exams soooooooo late. only can help you if you go to his office hour.
funny but lazy teacher i ever had
For his 1hr and 15mins class. He always come late 5mins. Set up his stuffs and talk to us for 5 mins. Then answer homework questions for 20-30mins. Then we only have 40-30mins lecture time which is so rush. Btw, he will go outside to answer phone call during lecture and tell us to discuss some questions that he will teach after he back.
Recommend you take another professor who is not lazy. It takes this guy a significantly long time to grade and return your work. Expect to have hard test and countless hours studying. Lectures are useless since he doesn?t stay on topic.
Frank is an awesome teacher, he has really entertaining lectures, and he really loves teaching math. Don't be fooled though, his tests are really hard, his grading is harsh, and he will take forever to get them back to you. None-the-less, Frank is a great math teacher, and he is always willing to help you understand anything math related.
Always off topic in his class. Didn't prepare for his lecture. Got the 1st exam grade back on the date we took 3rd exam which passed the last drop-date-with-w-grade. And never get the 2nd and 3rd exam back but the final grade. Always talk to the phone during class. A lot of homework and projects. Need to study so hard to get a b grade. Highly NOT recommend this lazy teacher who doesn't have heart to teaching people.
Funny prof but learn NONE in his lecture. Take forever for getting tests back. Go to LAP for seeking help if you are taking his class.
Very funny. Makes a boring topic interesting. Very helpful and doesnt make you feel dumb if you don't understand or ask for help. Very helpful and down to earth. I would highly recommend him or Perez for math if you don't understand the subject.
Frank is a really funny and energetic teacher who seems passionate about what he does :) he is always more than happy to help you understand a topic better if needed and doesn't make you feel stupid about it.
On the first day of class he says: "It's not my job to teach, only to give you a general idea of the material. I won't teach everything in the book." When did teachers not teach?? His tests are super hard, I'm a straight A student & I got a D on my first test with studying countless hours. AVOID him, he is funny, yes, but NOT a good teacher at all
He is extremely rude and homework is mandatory. Test are very hard but quiz easy. He is not helpful and will DROP you if you don't attend the class which means attendance is mandatory. he tries to be funny with his lame jokes. DONT TAKE HIM!
Great Teacher. Straight forward and helpful but not in class. You gotta go to his office hours. We're doing homework problems for 40mins and its a 1 hour and 30 mins class, how can he teach 2 sections in 50 mins. He helps you alot if you go to his office hours. His test are not that hard. VVV last comment for 3A. That test you failed was on precalc
Awesome teacher, would highly recommend he's passionate about math truly cares for his students and has a great sense of humor, hands down my funniest teacher so far in college. Now lets be real here he teaches math so you will have to study outside the class a fair deal to do well its the nature of the subject
Very helpful if you go to his office hours. Otherwise, he is very tight on time and questions during class. Good teacher, and has a good sense of humor which helps break up the monotony of class. Tests can be very difficult however.
The funniest teacher here at saddleback. Franks Class was the only enjoyable math class I've ever taken. Yes, you have to learn the material to pass but he is reasonable and teaches you Math with out putting you to sleep like other teachers. He's a jokester and will pick on you if your a lame student. So don't be lame, and do your HW. :D
Amazing!!!!!! I love Frank so much. He made calculus 2 so damn easyy. He is so clear and his lectures are so helpful and interesting. I got a B in class without trying hard. He is my favorite teacher EVER!!
Tests extremely difficult and questions sometimes unclear.
Frank is one the best teachers I have had at Saddleback. He teaches well and uses humor to keep students interested in the class. He helps a lot in office hours and really gets to know his students throughout the semester. The homework takes time, but its math so you have to expect that going into the class. I would recommend Franky to any student!
Don't take him for calculus 3A. pretty much your on your own and he does teach half of the section and you need to learn half of it on your own. Test are extremely difficult, i ended up taking him last semester which was a total waste of time, i worked really hard but i ended up getting "C".
Frank is a funny guy, but funny guys don't belong in classrooms, they belong doing stand-up comedy. He is not helpful at all. His "office hours" consist of passing you & your questions off to other students or tutors who don't even know how to do the problems. Quizzes & tests are impossible & contain problems you have never seen before. Dont do it!
Gonzalez not a great teacher. His jokes become annoying. He expects you to remember all the material from previous classes and flies through each chapter. I am an A student, I studied hard, and I found a tutor and STILL got a D on the first two tests. The tests and quizes are extremely hard and he has tons of homework every week. DO NOT RECOMMEND
Frank is a great teacher. He doesn't take regular attendance and each hw is only 3 pts, but if u don't show up or do your homework then don't expect to pass his class. He has a packet of notes pre-printed that you can buy..DO IT they will make your life so much easier. He is always willing to help you during his office hours and he is hilarious!
He is the best prof ever. He knows what he's doing. Best class ever in math. Hey guys it's math! But he make it funny clear and easy If you wanna learn and have fun take him, but be careful for tests, a bit tricky.
Frank is an awesome guy. Took his class at 7 AM and he had high energy, a great sense of humor, was extremely helpful, and kind. Take him if you are given the opportunity. His grading is straight forward. Study hard for logarithms and exponents and you'll be fine. TAKE HIM
I loved Frank! He is an awesome math teacher! He makes the class entertaining by cracking some jokes but also gets down to the point when he is teaching. There's a lot of homework but that's a given for any math class. I recommend this teacher!
I've taken two Precalc Profs. and Gonzalez is by far the best. Very clear, organized, energetic (really important in an early morning precalc class), and funny. The tests were challenging, but I took the class P/NP and shot for 408pts (the bare min to pass), which was extremely manageable if that's what you're trying to do. Thanks Frank!
Frank is a funny guy. The start of the class seemed so easy until he actually taught. He is one of those good guys but he just isnt a great teacher. He only goes over definitions and he doesnt cover an detail on any of the lessons. I recommend finding a tutor if you take this class.
Frank's a funny guy, but comedians don't belong in a classroom. A horrible teacher, his test questions are completely unrelated to the homework. He blows by sections faster than any other calculus teacher at saddleback and thats a fact. If you want to be on your own with a teacher who would rather tell jokes and stories then he's for you.
Frank is the coolest and most intelligent professor that I have ever had! I learned more in his 253 course than I have in any other class. I would definitely recommend taking a class with him if you get the chance.
This teacher is a comedian but he makes math fun and inspires you. He provides the essential properties and special cases for you to excel in class & it's up to you to put in the work because nothing ever in life should be handed to you. -Corporal of Marines
I took Frank for 253 and am currently taking him for Trig. He is hands down the best teacher I have ever had. He not only teaches the curriculum but will explain the concept's & history behind it. He exhilarates the classroom with a combination of comical outburst's and intriguingly clear teaching methods. Defiantly recommend taking his class. :0)
Frank is hands down my favorite teacher at Saddleback. Not only was my math class fun, it was something I looked forward to. He explains everything very well. If you attend, put some effort, do your homework and take the initiative to study you will get an A and also have a great foundation for future math skills. Currently taking trig with him :)
Frank is the best math teacher at Saddleback. He knows his stuff and makes it fun, he even made me consider a math major. Take him!!!!
I don't know why others in my class are having trouble. Yes Frank can get side tracked...pretty easily. However, he presents the material very clearly, actively provides tutoring resources and if I can get A's on his tests, most people should be able to. Definitely one of my favorite teachers at Saddleback.
Hands down the best math teacher . He explains things well. Tries to answer all questions. Makes math fun. Is humor makes me want to come to class because one can have a teacher that has a really dry sense of humor. He also helps as much as possible outside of class. I do recommend him if your taking a math course. Show up to class, do the work
hands down one of the best math professors at saddleback. he makes all the hard concepts amazingly easy to understand. I definitely recommend frank for any math class
Fun lectures. He posts previous tests online, so make sure to study them. Go to office hours. He won't pass you unless he thinks you'll be able to handle 3B. Great professor.
Best math teacher EVER! He made Stats fun, and I do not like math! He is super smart and has a great sense of humor to boot. Take this teacher, you will not be disappointed!
Best math teacher I''ve had. Funny guy who does a good job of teaching
FRANK IS THE MAN! You will never laugh harder in any other class and learn as much as you do- study and keep up with the teachings, do the homework and you'll be in the clear. I'm currently in his 8 week 124 class and would've loved to take him for math 2 if only his times matched with my schedule- TAKE HIM YOU WONT REGRET IT!!
Attempts to be hilarious constantly, which interferes with learning the material sometimes. Teaches well and is easy to understand, if you can ignore random side-tracked stories. Likes to make weird noises that can induce headaches. Overall, I'd take this class again because I've only gotten B's and A's on the tests.
Very nice guy. Knows his stuff. Easy class.
Best math teacher at Saddleback! 4 tests and 4 quizzes with a reasonable amount of homework. Tests aren't easy but he prepares you well in lecture and with practice quizzes. He's my favorite!
So annoying Bad jokes Doesn't teach well If you want to learn it, try another prof
So annoying Bad jokes Doesn't teach well If you want to learn it, try another prof
Answer questions, not best at explaining. Not well planned, always in hurry. Grading: syllabus says one thing, but different in practice. No partial credit on exams. No feedback on homework or tests. Takes points off, never says why. *Does not grade in timely manner. Even w 2 weeks notice couldn't tell me my grade at drop date. Horrible handwriting
He's hard to follow. Thinks he's funny. Not!
His lectures are not focused & do NOT prepare you for the exams. His tests are subjective: he asks you to write an essay & tells you what he's looking for after he grades it. In office hours he doesn't pay attention to you. He runs out of time for lectures but somehow has time to tell stories & show us pics of his kids. YOU ARE NOT FUNNY FRANK!
Ughhh! Inconsistent, wastes time, doesn't grase clearly, always rushing
Diff Eq and Linear are kinda abstract and Frank is really good at explaining the concept so that you can visualize what is really going on. Recommend taking him for higher level math classes if you don't rely too much on your teacher, which you should not, because his notations aren't always consistent.
Good guy, can be distracted and silly at certain times but he is very good at discussing the material.
Don't waste your time. He thinks he's funny, but he is not! He spends time in class telling stupid jokes and talking about his kids then runs out of time in class. Office hours are a joke! Be prepared to learn it on your own!
very clear lectures, extremely funny, he does get side tracked easily but his stories are hysterical so it normally doesn't bother people. Only negative is homework was online this semester, and his lectures and the homework were not as difficult as the exams would be. He's willing to help but he's at meetings a lot of his office hours.
lame jokes, unclear, unorganized didn't learn much from him plenty of other good math profs
I love love love lecture time with Mr. Gonzales; he's so detailed and will do multiple problems until you fully understand how to solve! I find Mr. G extremely funny keeping me engaged in the lecture. There is no question to large or small that he won't answer. I only have one regret, he's not teaching Math 353 in the fall of 2016
Unorganized and runs out of time
100% do not take this professor!
Frank's a great math teacher who cares about his job. He never "ran out of time" and was always more than happy to answer any and all questions posed. To those who think a teacher is going to impart a total understanding of any subject; get real and stop blaming others for your shortcomings. Holler.
This is the 3rd week of his 3A class and so far he has been AMAZING! I don't know why some people complain, maybe because they like math in the first place?! Frank explains the basic ideas very clearly and he wants you to know why you do. Make sure you ask questions and he will be there for you! I'm glad I took this class...
I took Frank for math 351 and it was a blast. He was very clear on lectures. Hilarious guy and classes are never boring
professor gonzalez has a good personality but he is hard and he does not explain stuff good and clear.
Frank spent most of class making jokes and talking about nonsense. Tells you on the first day that he is not going to teach us everything and the only way we're going to pass is if we read the textbook and get tutored. As a teacher, he did not teach anything on the homework and the quizzes and tests are extremely different than what is taught.
For the first time in my life I actually enjoyed a math class because of Frank. He is extremely funny and teaches super clear. He will always make sure everyone gets the material before moving on. Just pay attention, ask questions, and laugh at his jokes he's not a bad guy. Also for grading tests he gives points for just trying
Awful. Frank does not teach you what you need to be successful on the exams. Does BS examples in class and thinks he is funny. Do not like him and am not learning the basics of the class.
He is not organized & he rushes through the material. There were 60 people enrolled in his class but at the end, there were only less than 20 left.
this dude has to be top 3 best math teachers ive had in my life. we started math253 with a full class and ended up with like 20 students that cared about their grades LMAO. Learned so much from Frank, also beware of his loud SIGH's.
All I have to say is... what a guy! I have struggled with math my entire life and after taking his course I felt more confident in my math skills and feel like I learned a lot. Also, he is hilarious! He is the "Michael Scott" (from The Office) of mathematics. Take his class, you'd be crazy not to. He is extremely helpful and actually CARES! :)
Look up adorkable, and there you will find Frankie. Calc was HARD, but I expected that and he made every class fun and interesting! Come to class and come early (he will answer HW questions), do the HW, and STUDY. He says usually 1/2 the class drops or dosn't pass, 20 Cs, 10 Bs, and 3 As. I was able to squeak by with an A--and you can too! :-D
I took frank last semester for 3A, I was not so happy with his class. But now that I took 3B with someone else, I realize how good he was in teaching math! Take him...
Nice professor, Gets off topic a lot, jokes often, is not that clear about what will be on quiz or test, tons of homework, not that specific on how homework grading works. Examples on math notes are not that well explained and is straight forward.
Frank is by far the coolest teacher I have ever had. He looks identical to James Murray, the guy from impractical jokers, and he's even funnier. All class he'll crack jokes and make it to where you 100% understand the material. If math Isn't your best subject he's the best teacher to have.
You won't regret taking professor Gonzalez. There is a lot of homework, although it is a math class so it makes sense. He is very understanding, patient, and hilarious. The homework is online for this class and the website is so helpful! this is an easy class if you try and pay attention!
Although the class is hard, he makes it bearable. He has a hilarious sense of humor. Will help you outside of class as much as you need. Homework is mandatory and collected once a week. Quizzes aren't too challenging. Tests are also straightforward. You need to take this guy!
I am very bad at math and this teacher made it pretty easy for me. He explains things in great detail and is always willing to help.
Math is really hard and stressful, so don't expect an easy class. With that being said Professor Gonzalez is a pretty good teacher. He makes lectures as fun as it's possible to make math, and is accessible for homework questions. I made it out alive with my GPA intact, so in the end I'm glad I took the class.
math sucks, but Frank is the greatest person and professor ever. He really cares that you get a good grade, he will help you until you understand.
Really cool, funny guy. He always answers everyones questions and tries to make sure everyone understands the lesson. He can move a little fast sometimes but for the most part he goes at a good pace. Theres a good amount of homework (all online, dont even bother getting the physical textbook) but definitely do it or you wont learn anything.
He was a decent math teacher. Not a tough grader so that was nice, but he takes a while grading tests and you have to ask him what your grade is a few times for him to actually let you know what you have.
I would recommend to get Mr. Frank as your Math teacher during summer especially Math 351. He's the best professor I have encountered.
I absolutely love Frank! He's such a kind person and his lectures are very easy to understand. He is very funny and makes class fun and enjoyable. Not to much hw. Tests are just like the notes.
Frank is hilarious and cares a lot about his students. He makes sure that every student understands the material he is teaching and is also hilarious. He makes learning math fun. I am also not good at math and I really understood what he was teaching.
Easy! I was horrible at math until I took his class! He helps you understand what youre learning, and has an in class tutor.
He was awesome! Best math teacher I ever had & I hate math. Thank you Frank!!!! You da bomb
I got an A in his Math 353 and I used to always think I was terrible at math. He was just really precise and everything was clear on what you needed to do and know to do well in the class. Keeping on HW in MyMathLab is important too.
Frank is a funny mofo. All the other Math teachers suck so take him. The homework is easy and online. He seriously takes everyone to account and makes sure everyone understands the math. His engery really reflects onto the class and his two hour classes feel like 45 mins. If you suck at math take this dude to pass.
He never uploads grades and if he does its about a month from when you turned in the assignment or took the test/quiz. He never hands back tests, quizzes, or homework so you cant study off of them or know what you got wrong. He was rude to most students and had a bad attitude. Not sure if he didnt like my class, but I would not recommend him.
Honestly I thought he was a good professor at the beginning of the semester until he stopped grading assignments, quizzes, AND tests and his personality changed completely. Attendance is almost mandatory, even though he says he does not care if you show up or not. Just a bummer he's the only professor that teaches this mandatory course!
Let me just tell you how great this professor is. He makes the class fun and makes jokes throughout the class. He has a great sense of humor. He is very helpful in and out of class. He will teach how to do the math until everyone understands it. Sometimes there is quite a bit of homework, but its not impossible. 11/10 would highly recommend.
Best professor ever!!! He is so entertaining and REALLY cares about his students. It's impossible not to get along with him. Super accessible if you need help. Definitely do not skip class. If you attend, it's impossible not to get an A. Very thorough and spends the first half of class making sure everyone understands the homework that is assigned.
Prof Frank honestly made Stats enjoyable. He is really good at teaching and breaks things down for you. It was really fun having his class in person, but after this switch to online he did not fail to teach me! All homework is online, and your grade is based on homework, quizzes, and exams. Not hard to get an A, you just need to keep up w the work
Professor Gonzalez has been great this semester. Through COVID, he was still very accommodating and taught in a clear and caring way. VERY funny and don't take his seemingly passive-aggressive demeanor personally. Tests65% (HW, quiz, etc.35%). Grading takes forever but he definitely deserves 4+ rating average
Frank made this semester so much better for me. Once the class went fully online, the transition was seamless and the 10 people out of 40 that would attend his zoom every day all did very well. He is such a sweet, compassionate, hilarious guy. I had a blast in his class. Just do the HW and use Statcrunch and you'll be fine. Thanks Frank! -Joe Jonas
Unfortunately the worst experience I have had with a teacher at saddleback. Highly unprofessional, never answered emails, or informed his students with any announcements on canvas to let us know whats going on, since some of his students werent able to make it to his online lectures. He opened canvas at 11 PM Sunday night before the first lecture
Professor Gonzalez has an incredible sense of humor and an energy that transforms the subject of math. This was an online course, but he held Zoom calls for 2 hours every morning Mon-Thurs where he would answer all questions and clarify anything we were struggling with. I would highly recommend him for any course he teaches. His energy makes it fun
Great guy. The only thing during COVID, you attend Zoom for 2 hours. And then the Homework is online. SO MUCH SCREENTIME! He would be great in person, but as for online, he is fine. As long as Saddleback is online, I recommend finding a professor that assigns homework questions from a Physical Book. This way you can get a break from your computer!
Professor Gonzalez is very caring. The homework is online and the website helps really well but Professor Gonzalez is very much happy to help his students with homework problems. He reduces the student anxiety.
Hilarious and caring guy. He made pretty difficult concepts understandable but be prepared to study and spent hours on homework! Not gonna lie, frank takes his time submitting grades however, he does grade you really leniently. He's fair and super generous. Also, all lectures are recorded for you.
Frank is a really laid back and fun professor. He's very willing to answer questions in class. There were a few tests and many bouts of homework. One of my major critiques is that he's slow with putting in grades. However, he is very fair and lenient when he is grading tests.
Frank is a good professor but screwed people over by not grading a single item of homework or any exams until the last month of the semester. If you don't mind never receiving feedback on homework or exams, then you could take him.
I don't know why Professor Gonzalez has a low rating. He's funny and always willing to help w/ questions. I believe the online book and frank help you better to understand stats. As a person who had to take algebra three times in high school, his class made it easy for me. You don't have to attend class and he records for people who don't show.
I'm so glad that I had Frank as a professor. He's one of the few who can make math enjoyable, and I'd honestly have a good laugh every single class. He grades pretty easy, and he's available to answer questions. The only issue is that he grades extremely slowly(he didn't put in a single grade until the last month of class).
Prof. Gonzalez is the most hilarious and one of the best professors I have ever had. He made math easy to understand.
he screwed all of us over the week before the final exam. he didn't put in the weighted categories for our grades until the week before the class ended. the grade i thought i had during the whole semester was an illusion. he admitted that he was in the wrong, yet still didn't allow for any way to bring our grades back up. very slow grader on exams
This professor completely ruined my first semester of college. He changed grades A WEEK before the final. When we brought it up to him, he shrugged and replied something along the lines of "oh well, it's already over with so just do well on the final". You have 5-8 hours of homework a week, and his lectures are useless. Stay away from him.
Great professor, and as long as you do your work and pay attention in class you will do well.
Prof. Gonzalez is the most hilarious and one of the best professors I have ever had. I'm so glad that I had Frank as a professor, He grades pretty easy, and he's available to answer questions.
Frank was a great professor for stats! Show up to class because the lectures were definitely worth it to understand the homework. He had great office hours, stayed with you, and helped you until you understood. Tests are worth 50% of your grade. Homework helps balance your grade and you can redo it until you get 100% on the online program he uses.
Frank is a very funny guy and a good teacher. The class is homework heavy, but it helps when learning the material so as long as you do that you'll be fine. He also takes a while to grade tests but it's not a problem. I would take him again if he taught other classes.
Frank is AWESOME! He's hilarious and makes class a lot of fun. I used to really hate math but I now love math thanks to him making it fun. He is a really slow grader but nonetheless a great guy I rate him 11/10
Frank makes math enjoyable and you actually learn from his lectures. He's also available during office hours to help
I'm sure he's a great guy but it's a no for me. He is all over the place so his lectures are hard to keep up with. Like knowing your test scores? Good luck with that! The semester is over and I still don't know my score for exam 2. He does not believe in following schedules/syllabus so you will have random assignments unlock throughout the week.
He is really nice, but his exams and quizzes are so difficult. It's completely different and harder from HW and his lectures. He has not graded anything since the semester started and we are still waiting for the test 1 grade! He will not solve any practice exams during the class and sometimes has no practice problems or study guides for quizzes.
Lots of self-learning. Read the textbook before class and do the homework. Don't expect to get most/any of your grades back until the middle/end of the semester. Pretty chill guy though
Confusing and unfocused. Thinks the class is his standup comedy routine. Unfunny.
Overall a great class, lectures are not for everyone but helpful. He is available out side of class both before and after to help with homework and tough topics, which was VERY helpful. Only con is the lack of speed when it comes to grading, but other than that, perfect class. My advice, ask questions, go to office hours, and do the homework.
I barely scraped by with an A- but still did thanks to some rounding, but all and all it's heavily reliant on your exam grade. Nice guy who entertained my antics during off times.
Honestly, other people are glazing this guy saying hes amazing. He is NOT a terrible teacher but not as good as other people make him out to be. He assigns homework that takes forever, changes them constantly, does care WHEN you submit it. Contrary to what the glazers say, and his tests are difficult and he grades a lil rough. Also certified yapper
Take Frank's Differential Equations class before his Linear Algebra one Although he says otherwise, you don't need DETools to succeed in his class There are only 3 quizzes and 3 tests; a lot of room for failure, but, as long as you put the time in to study, you won't have a problem succeeding Diff. Eq is very literal, and not very conceptual
The professor can be hit-or-miss, but if you stay engaged and use resources like unstuck ai for study prep, you can do well. Lectures are worth attending, and the online program helps boost your grade.
If you are a math major don't bother taking this class. He does not explain anything or teach. The tests have nothing to do with what he does review in class. Gets off topic 98% of the time. If you can try and take your math courses at IVC otherwise goodluck.
My major is communications and math has always been my weakness. This class was so easy. Frank is hilarious and easy to reach out if any question. Pretty flexible with absents and late homework. We didn't have any test or final. Just a group project and lots of homework (but so easy). If your major is not in math, take this class!
Horrendously lazy professor. Will not grade assignments until months after due date or at the end of the semester. Lectures are useless, he doesn't explain topics thoroughly enough compared to what's tested. Other students said that another teacher doesn't test for true or false questions or the theorems because they're too hard but Gonzalez does.
Lazy prof. Takes WAY TOO LONG to grade, tests and quizzes are mostly from the homework. Hw is about 30 questions per section maybe 3 sections a week. You watch lectures before class and he lectures during class and goes on random tangents. No ec, quiz or exam every other week, linear algebra is harder than it should be in this class.
