He is great.Makes his classe interesting by using real world stories. The course itself is not hard;requires mid-term,one essay, presentation of current business topic, and final.
Great. A lot of class invlovement. Watch movies about business.
Great prof. knows what he is talking about cause he has been tehre and done that. very understandable and logical. At times pretty funny Defiantly gunna take more of his classes
Excellent Teacher! Uses real world issues and experience vs. just the text book! Very helpful and insightful. I plan on taking more classes from him!
Not a very encouraging teacher. Does not help students that need it most but penalyzes them for not asking someone else for help. This guy is not a friendly guy, very arrogant.
Great instructor. Great class. Inspiring. Lots of guideance and help. Expects much but helps you get there.

Great class and professor! He is entertaining, yet at the same time I really came away with a lot of knowledge. I would take a class with him again!
Got A- summer qtr w/full time schedule, which made it hard to find study time.Managed to Ace tests w/out reading text-just made time to skim definitions.Fellow ESL studnts didnt have same luck:Studied harder & still got lower scores :( Other requirments:memo, powerpoint present, resrch paper, group present.Frank is little disoraganized but easy & fun
lecture and power point gets real boring fast
He is not encouraging students to speak out. Only couple of people can discuss the issue in the class.
I really learned a lot. If you are interested in law at all, take this class with him!
This instructor not helpful at all. Also assign lots of assignment and high require.
Taught nothing. Expects a lot from students but gives little. Talks in generalities, can't be pinned down to what he means and wants. Avoids meeting with students. Answers email promptly but answers are void of substance.
Tough class but learned alot. He knows his stuff. He made the class.
Frank is awesome! His classes are fun and never boring. He is clear on what he expects when grading and is very flexible on assignments. He wants all students to succeed and his love of teaching is very evident. I advise anyone wanting to take a great class to take Frank! :)

This class was very hard and he was a hard grader. A few times he made rude comments on the bulletin board, but when I asked for constructive help he really spent a lot of time helping me give better answers. I think I deserved an A and he gave me a B.
He's great! You will learn a lot!
THE BEST TEACHER EVER!! very nice, interested in students, not too much homework, very interesting class!
Fun class & interesting content. Good instructor.
The best! LOved the class.
Awesome class. Very helpful. Very pattient. One of the best.
Awesome Professor! Knowledgeable with a dry sense of humor.
Good, easygoing guy. Class was easy and got a B with full-time work and class load. Kind of boring, teaches straight from slides and book. Time would be better spent elsewhere but attendance is part of your grade. Recommended if you're looking for good grade without much effort.

Not responsible teacher. He don't grade assignment timely, maybe one and half months later he will give back your homework to you. he is rude and impolite. less time teaching and lot of time students do presentation.
This was the hardest class I have ever taken. The work load is like taking two classes. The teacher is not good at getting back to you if you have any questions. The content is good but it is way too much to pack into on quarter. Use caution is you are taking a full load this class could be too much for you. Teacher also messed up on my grade.

Interesting class, very fair instructor, best class taken in this country.
There's no word can describe him enoughly. He is just awesome!!! This guy has GOT IT! He knows what he's talking about and helps you.
Good explanations. Seems to enjoy teaching! He motivated me and I learned a lot. I'd take another class with him.
Frank is the best teacher ever! I learned so much from his class. He is fun , easy going and very knowledgeble. Just go to class everyday , do a case here and there and you'll be fine. Butt!! YOU MUST READ HIS MEMOS on the test! He is very picky when it come to not reading his Memo (typical lawyer type). Other than that, I lovee his class!!
Excellent teacher and very helpful with students. I would take another class in a heartbeat!!
Very friendly and helpfull teacher. Make sure you do the MEMO thing.
This teacher is horrible, does not like to help people that needs it the most. He is not a friendly guy. If you ask him a question he will make you look stupid. He just says ask the person next to you or check you syllubus. He is not very helpfull, not clear. His favorite phrase is "I dont know?" or "you tell me".
Students were completely confused in that class. It was an absolutely terrible experiance. There were issues on explaining and clarifying concept details. As well as poor communication with student. Questions often wasn't fully answered in class, professor was often told us its book explaintory. Its hard to get a good grade in his class even u stud

Frank is an incredible teacher. He expects a lot from you and structures the class so that you have to work hard, but if you do the work, you learn so much! He?s also really helpful and actually wants his students to succeed. He?s seriously awesome, take him!
Very helpful instructor and you learn a lot in his class. Not too much homework and if you do well on the assignments he will keep you in mind and give you a good grade on the midterm and final.
He is a great teacher. He is very active with the students. There is a fair amount of work, but if you come to class and participate you will do well.
I took the online verson of this course. The amount of 'busy' work assigned by this teacher is ridiculous. Literally spent HOURS a day keeping up with all of the discussion requirments. Beyond that, it takes a long time to receive responses through the online medium. If you can avoid taking this class online, do.
This teacher is a freaking joke. at first he seems like a nice guy but all his life stories get repetitive and boring, he keeps refering to his 17 page syllabus that we were supposed to read and he is just not very intelligent in general. if you want an easy a but really boring 10 weeks take it, if not avoid it it wasnt a fun experience

I really didnt learn anything in his class. All he did was lecture about his past. There was absolutly no work! maybe a project here or there! really not that much work but the class itself is so boring and he does attendence!!! He assigns random assignments and if you do turn it in on the due date then its an 0 even if you had a good excuse!
Very interesting class. This guy knows business and is very entertaining. It?s a great class. I learned a lot. I decided to major in business.
Very interesting class. This guy knows business and is very good. It?s a great class. I learned a lot. I decided to major in business.
This professor was horrible. He was arrogant, made everyone feel stupid all the time, self-centered, and completely irrational. He was never clear in anything he wanted and if you didn't have everything in the correct format, even if it was good work, he'd give you a zero. There wasn't much work but i barely learned anything. Stay away...
Frank is the best instructor I have ever had. Take his class.
He is a great professor!! He knows his stuff very well. He taught me a lot and the things I really wanted to learn!
I could not believe him! Students would be embarrassed to make a comment or ask a question. His directions were never clear in regard to tests, homework, & class schedule. He provides little or NO help after class or via email. If the homework was not in the correct format, expect a zero. He was not fair.
one of the best teachers i had ever had! though he is a hard teacher alot of homeworks, quizes, and papers but i learned alot of him and seriously i didnt open the book to study and i got an A- so take bussiness class with him am sure u will not regret it
This teacher is not flexible with anyone. He is too caught up on being "fair" with people. He has absolute NO concern on what is happening to you outside the class. His syllabus is a huge packet of like 20 pages that you must become veryyy familiar with it. He does have very interesting insight sometimes. But the class as a whole is a pain.
I am taking the online course through him. The only way to get to the course material was through a access code. After 4 hours of talking with bookstore and publisher it was found only the prof knew where to find it. it is 5 days now where I can't access the material and I have to drop the class as no e-mail response from him in last 3 days.
His teaching style is very disorganized. He is mean to students.
It is an online session. The course contains unreasonable work load every week and absolutely messy and confused directions.
Great class! Has inspired me to learn more about business, and also make it my future major. I recommend this professor to all. You will learn!
The work load is EXTREMELY weightily. Dozens of graded discussions are require every single day.
Frank is pretty much a jerk to his students. Thinks his degrading jokes are funny and thinks he's pretty much a business god. he's not. he's an alright teacher but i wouldn't recommend him
The worst class and teacher I ever had. He is knowledgable but not good at teaching. Do not take him if you have any other choices.
one of the greatest teachers i have ever had...grade school and h.s. included. wants you too do well and will make it happen if you put in the effort. extremely friendly and likes to strike up a convo with you. exams ok which are easy and a short multiple choice final. DEFINITELY TAKE
Best professor I ever had! Knew his material. Was real world. Always available to help students. seemed to really care about us. Take his classes!
Not only is this class extremely difficult for a sophomore level class, but the workload is downright unrealistic. You aren't given nearly enough time on exams, and the grading is discouraging and arbitrary. You'll find yourself getting Ds on assignments you worked hard on, and B's on assignments you half-assed. Don't expect an A, they don't exis
Horrible teacher, hands down one of the WORST I've ever had. He doesn't answer questions, only insults students or says "it's in the text." That's not teaching, that's worthless. His tests are way, way too hard and unresonable, and he grades extremely tough. My advice is to stay away from this guy at all costs, waste of time and money.
I don't even know where to start. All of the negative reviews seem to be right-on, completely worthless when it comes to help. Hey Frank, "it's in the book" or "you tell me" AREN'T helpful when students ask questions. He seems to hold himself in very high regard, but not anyone else. Overall he's a horrible teacher, stay away from this jerk.
He gives a ridiculous amount of work. We had 29 discussions one week this quarter! This could be partly because I took the class during summer quarter but still. He expects you to know the syllabus backwards and forwards and will always refer you to it instead of answering your questions. Don't take him unless you absolutely have to.
I didn't know anything about business before my 1st bus class with this guy. I'm now going to bus degree just because this guy make it so interesting. he is a great teacher. tough but fair. Always makes sure everybody stays on top of class. Try him & u'll be proud
Very terrible! very mean to students. Everytime that I go to ask him question, he embarrass me!! Never ever take his class!
He was a great teacher. He doesnt like being interrupted but who does? Dont talk to much in class and you will be fine. Also, we took 2 midterms and a final and he dropped the lowest of the 3! Hes super easy.
He treated the syllabus as a contract and referred us to it every time there was a question. Some of his policies seemed ridiculous and a lot of reading. New material up until the day of the final. Really tough but I did learn. Bonus: He starts most classes with a cool short video clip
U dont need any textbook from this class, the only thing u need is your syllabus and the syllabus can answer all ur questions
He really does not answer your questions, and sometimes makes you feel stupid in front of the whole class. I do NOT recommend him at all, but if you have to take him make sure you read the text, attend class, and LISTEN to what he says. He will not repeat anything, sometimes he puts it in his test.
All you need is syllabus. His favorite quote is "Well, what did the syllabus say?"
Fantastic teacher. I got an A. Was respectful to me and those who read the text, show up and ask intelligent questions. Was less so to those who did not. Reading the negative comments reminds me of several classmates who didn't put in the effort and their grade showed it. I have over 100 college credits from several colleges/university's.
Very clear and understanding on assignments. Stern that his way goes. If you do all your work and study you pretty much have an A. Over all he was agreat teacher and I would take him again.
16 page syllabus that was written like he was gonna be put on trial:) It's copyrighted and has all of the answers to your questions. In fact, you don't need him. Just study the chapters outlined in the syllabus and take the tests. You will get an "A" if you just read the chapters each week and memorize the book.
Everything was thought throught he text book and his slides. Make sure you have some questions to ask him, it just makes look like you are intrested. And I have noticed as long as you show up and do work on time you are good to go. Read all the sylabus and look up the latin term or ask him about it, it's gonna be bouns quesiton on the midterm.
Perhaps Hatstat is great in person, but online he's a disaster - administration of his class site was a nightmare - and for the love of God don't ask him a question. He will repeatedly refer you back to his precious 16 page, copyrighted syllabus. If you press him for a real answer, he gets cranky. Will never take another class with him.
Never take this class,as he will teach something that you will never understand. He will give many reasons of being absent from the class.
He's generally condescending towards students, and his long-winded stories that have nothing to do with business bore the class to the point that everybody is on their laptop or phone. If you need help with something and come to him, he'll shoot you down and refuse to help, embarassing you in the process. I do not recommend taking his classes.
Reading the text is MANDATORY. Great instructor. Knows the subject, likes the subject, and can teach the subject. If you take BusLaw with Frank, ask questions every time you have one. It'll help you and help the class. Creates a great atmosphere. Only assigns homework when you aren't coming to class prepared.
He has you do quite a bit of online work with the Business CONNECT. Do the online stuff, it's easy but time consuming. We had to do an individual presentation and a group presentation. He's long winded but he always kept them entertaining and the story was always about the subject matter at hand. Do the work and you'll get an A.
HORRIBLE teacher! Mean, rude and might even make fun of your questions. Never grades anything until the end of the quarter. He doesn't take questions seriously and says: what did I say? What does the syllabus say? You tell me! ..... not helpful at all. WORSE teacher I've had in Bellevue College
I can't believe that people are complaining about him asking them to refer to the syllabus...the answers to the dumb, simple questions you're asking are in there! Read it, stop wasting the classes time. The class itself was challenging but incredibly enlightening. I learned a lot about legal foundations and the case examples were helpful.
He is the WORST teacher I ever had in BC!!!! I can't believe a teacher can be so rude and mean to students. I worked hard through out the whole quarter, but I got C grade at the end. Don't ever take his class!
Absolutely terrible class. I don't recommend this teacher at all. He is rude, boring, and the only teaching he does is repeat the textbook. Dropped this class after 2 weeks. Seriously don't take it with him.
He always tells you to refer to the syllabus if you ask him a question. I enjoyed his class. He gave extra credit opportunities and was a cool teacher overall. He's able to adjust due dates to better his students. Just don't ask him stupid questions or be rude, and you should be fine.
Horrible teacher!! That's all I want to say.
WORST TEACHER EVER, I could go on and on about it but you just need to trust me. This guy is SO RUDE!
Very dismissive. Smart guy, but arrogant. Mostly talks about unrelated rabbit trails, I learned 85% of the material by reading the book. Pretty rude and short with people. Seems like he uses the class to talk about whatever he wants, which is usually about himself.
If you want a good grade, be willing to put the work in; reading each chapter is mandatory. Professor Hatstat has a lengthy syllabus and does not spoon feed his students. Try to find the answer to your question before you ask him, which demonstrates you value his time and yours. This is a great class and you will learn lots about business law.
Although sarcastic and somewhat harsh at times, the best teacher I have ever had. I appreciated that he treated us like adults and didn't have time for nonsense. He doesn't have patience for those who want everything handed to him. I think he's by far one of the best at the college.
He is mean and rude to students. He is very mean on grading. His class is boring but he thought he is a funny guy. Lots of homework but never give you any instruction s. Terrible class.
This teacher is terrible. He is rude and not helpful. He will always say to refer back to the syllabus. He doesn't do anything except for upload links to the book. It helps when a professor will explain things when you ask, not just send you away. What is the point? I would strongly suggest not taking his class.
This teach is terrible. He doesn't put anytime in to create anything for students. You are expected to read the book for all information and if you ask questions he tells you to look at the syllabus. The tests were often not related to the book and he never told you the correct answer if you got a question wrong.Learned next to nothing,Hard to pass
For a summer quarter class this instructor assigned so much homework that my other two classes were cake. He doesn't correct any problems and won't take an assignment one minute late. Horrible at grading and completely inconsistent.
If English is your second language, you do not want to take his class. I think this he is very knowledgeable about Business Law. He just keep going on his lecture without concern about who has questions or understanding. Some students even did not know what page he was reading. I dropped this class.
Frank's BUS 101 class was excellent. Exams were fair. He covers great material and provides top-notch insight from his business background. BUS 101's downside is a final group project done with students who would immediately be fired in a real business setting. Lazy student made the final group project a brutal, unrealistic chore.
Hated this teacher. I took it online and he basically did nothing the whole quarter. Everything was on a pre-made cengage website and his tests were hard. Lots of work. don't take him.
His lectures were useless, boring monochrome powerpoints covering exactly the content in the book, yet took attendance so you have to go into class to get credit. Learned more from the book than anything. Poor organization of time, was really slow in the beginning, had to catch up at the end of the quarter by making us read 10 chapters in one week.
He writes a 25 page syllabus filled with pointless garbage and then anytime you ask him a question he says refer to the syllabus. Got assigned a GROUP project in his ONLINE class. 3 of the 7 ended up not doing their part of the paper. I told him and he said to figure it out. I ended up writing 3 papers including my own. AWFUL! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
If you do not pay attention you are screwed. Do the homework thoroughly and use IRAC!
Frank is a hard grader and is very clear about how he wants things done. Unfortunately any slight deviation from that will give you a less than favorable grade. One thing that i picked up from this class is that you truly are on your own. Every question is met with "maybe" and there is ZERO help. Does not care about his students.
If you put effort into ALL of the assignments- checking facts along the way, you will get an A. Frank is a very fair grader. Most of the comments seem to focus around the idea that a college professor is supposed to answer every disruptive question during class and cater to each individual student, if you want the "crust cut", go back to 3rd grade.
There are no other study materials besides ead the textbooks. So except to read. Homework is ok. One to two chapters a week. 2 projects. 1500 words group project at the end of quarter.
I took BUS101 online with him & the textbook with the learnsmart quizzes is actually super helpful. Use all the tools he gives you and you'll easily do well in the class.
I took his Bus 101 online class. Lots of works and reading. Even 2 or 3 chapters a week. 2 fair exams (midterm and final). Clear grading criteria. One individual paper and one group project. They're both heavy that require a lot of research. Grading scale: 100-95%: A, 94-90%: A-, 88-89%:B+.
Do NOT take his classes. I'm for sure you will not get good grades. Too OLD, strict. you will have a quiz every week and 4 to 7 assignments including DQ. he always responses look up the syllabus. No feedback. TOTALLY THE WORST EVER .
Prof. Hatstat's class requires a quite great deal of criteria when it comes to teaching students. His lectures are long, and he's strict about participation and attendance. He may not seem to be fond of his students in person, but if you're looking for a challenge and self improvement as a whole, taking one of his classes won't hurt.
I wouldn't take this class if you aren't able to be at your computer 24/7. It's absolutely overwhelming how long the syllabus is .I am a very focused and organized persons and It was way too much for me in the first week. If you want an exhausting and old school version of a challenge you have it here. Good luck if you want simple instruction.
The entire class was out of the text book, even the exams. The text book is long and if you dont memorize most of it than the final exam is really hard. I would not take this class simply because of the final exam because he uses the textbook online and randomly picks 50 questions that can be anywhere in the 700 page book.
Tests are completely different than the homework and topics in class. Be sure to read every single case study in the text book, otherwise the midterm and final will be impossible. Be prepared to be ridiculed in class for questions, and expect a hint of racism. Overall, very unprofessional professor. Follow IRAC form in papers or receive a bad grade
This review is actually for BUS355 (which isn't listed). Gave everyone the wrong textbook, blamed the hosting agency. Actual textbook is $260. Midterm tested on minute details across 4+ giant chapters, more than half the class got a C or D. Standoffish when asked questions, group project is a combined grade. Worst teacher experienced in 20+ classes
Let me preface by saying that in high school, I was a straight A student, so I'm not just whining about a difficult class. I sent him an email explaining a lot of severe issues I was dealing with and asked what I can do to catch up. Rather than be a respectful person, he sent me multiple paragraphs back lecturing and scolding me. Extremely RUDE.
I would not take this class again or choose this teacher again because of the way he grades and has no leniency to late assignments. If you do not turn an assignment in on time even if it is a huge part of your grade you will get an automatic zero with no explanation. Never gives you full points on anything there will always be some mistake you did
It is obvious he does not like mentoring or improving his students. All feedback on his grading is not helpful, his questions/responses on the weekly DQ's are not engaging at all, and the group project he gave out was vague. I don't know if he is any different for offline classes, but if you take this class online you will be bored and annoyed.
So many fake "positive" ratings here. If you are taking business courses at BC, choose Pete Ophoven. It is a night and day difference between teaching styles, Frank doesn't give a damn about you or whether or not you want to succeed in his class, while Pete will go out of his way to try and help make your learning experience better.
While taking this class I realized the only was to pass exams is if you memorize the whole textbook. Frank didnt care about his students or how he taught us. He gave us readings and a DQs ( which doesnt help me learn). You couldve just read the book. Every email sent to me was disrespectful or rude turning my simple question into a lecture.
This teacher is the worst I think I have ever had. He grades based on things hes only talked about inside his own head. He doesnt give you any info thats actually helpful in the grading world and he does not communicate well. DO NOT take this prof!!
I don't think I've ever seen a disorganized professor like Frank is. In addition, he doesn't care about other students when you have issues with non-participating group members. He dismisses you and says if you have questions you can't email them. No matter how personal they are, they have to be put online for all to see. DO NOT TAKE HIS COURSE!
RUNdo not walkto remove this from your schedule. I was advised to do so at the beginning of last quarter & didn't listen. All course work in this class is learned ONLINE. You'll learn nothing from the professor. You can learn from & like BUS101 if you take it from a professor who enjoys teaching & likes students. Neither is true with this guy.
Every previous negative review of this teacher is 100% accurate. Syllabus is his self-styled bible and he refers to it only slightly less often than his own credentials. His JD degree was clearly not enough to pass the BAR and yet he still finds it necessary to treat BUS 101 students like their doctoral thesis is in question. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.
Worst teacher I've had at Bellevue College in two years. Doesn't take responsibility for anything, any mistake on his part is met with snide comments such as: "It's unfortunate you were confused by my instructions." Disallowed conversation between students; he stated this was HIS class and we should not try to help each other. AVOID.
He does not specify format on all projects and down-grades if you can't read his mind and do what he was thinking. He's extremely condescending in replies and private emails, and when he tries to reply to assignments with a video, the inflections in his voice do the opposite of what you'd think the purpose of such a video would be.
Do not take a class from this guy unless its your only option. Im surprised his rating is above a 1 because the negative reviews on here are completely accurate. I passed the class with a good grade, but definitely did not enjoy this instructor.
Easily the worst professor Ive ever had the displeasure of encountering, the class isnt even hard but he insists on making it more difficult through unclear instructions and a negative attitude. Avoid this teacher at all costs as he clearly has no passion or talent for teaching.
The learning environment was terrible. Hatstat does not seem to want to help his students. He constantly responds with a condescending tone, and he does not take advantage of opportunities to educate students when he feels they are incorrect. Although I passed with an A, I would not recommend anyone take a class taught by this professor.
Needs to realize this he is teaching intro-level classes at local colleges. Has completely unrealistic expectations for the class, gives vague feedback and assignment instructions, and is just plain mean. Please do not take his classes unless you absolutely have to.
Terrible experience. Prof Frank is rude and mean. Would not take another class of his again. Avoid!!!
If you like clear grading criteria, constructive feedback, and a fair evaluation of your work THEN DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. If you do decide to take this class, prepare to read a 31 page syllabus that will still leave you confused about what's expected. If you have questions, you'll get a 4-5 paragraph answer that's unhelpful & unnecessary.
I see a lot of complaints about this teacher. Could it have been better, yes. That being said if you do the work on time and put effort in you will do fine. I think some students think teachers are supposed to allow late work, and lack of effort. Just be humble, do the work and pay attention.
This is the worst teacher I haver ever had in my entire school carrier. He is the kind of teacher that would say on the first day of class "No one gets an A in my class" and thinks that is a good thing. He has an absurdly long syllabus full of garbage that is nitpicky crap. He does not seem to realize his students have lives and is way too harsh.
It's real that you're going to have a lot of homework to do, and he doesn't accept late homework! But don't worry, because these homework are not hard (you can find everything on the textbook), and if you can't finish it on time there are so many homework that your grade won't go down! Also, he cares about the syllabus and how make things clearer!!
Hatstat is a terrible professor and is one of the worst teachers I've ever had. He never really answers you question giving answers that are vague. He also didn't respond to me and my classmates question during finals week for 4 days till the point where when he did answer our question the assignment was already due. doesn't take his job seriously.
This professor was one that took everything literally by the books. Will not create any exceptions for you, even if you're in the hospital. He NEEDS a doctor's note. He will NOT trust you. He gave me a bigger headache than the ER bill did. If you take this prof, be ready to submit everything on time. Always get a Doctor's note, even for a disc post
Test heavy has midterm and final exams worth 75% of your overall quarter grades. He barely grades 100% on any assignment. I have been getting A in all other classes but this one I got C, just because this teacher grades in his own way.
Hw is due at lunch not midnight. Very strict. Heavy hw 3 post each week with response, and unable to change once posted. Memo is easy, but the online work is hard with lots of reading. Hopefully you read fast! Such a draining class. BC should do something Definitely recommend doing hw earlier, but you won't get a good grade. Hopefully you pass.
I am a full time straight A student and this class is incredibly hard. 2 chapters w/notes per week, and two10 point hw assignments all due by Wednesdays at 12pm. 2 discussion questions w/4 required replies to classmates all due by Sunday, however if you post a response on Sunday 10% is shaved off the total grade. 2 exams worth 75% of the grade.
1. 100% automation; if you have confusion- he refers you to a 29-page vast confusing syllabus for answers. 2. He will not teach you anything; but embarrass you with tones of automated assignments, and discussions with classmates; the professor will not participate, I doubt he even reads any assignments. He just grades like random; no feedback.
He is a tough grader and doesn't allow any late work whatsoever. -- even if there are family emergencies, etc. he will adhere strictly to the syllabus. He releases homework, discussions, etc. on a week by week basis. I had about 10-15 readings, assignments, and discussions due per week in my course with him.
1) He won't let us use the restroom or leave without hating us first. 2) Almost half the time he starts class 30 minutes early and ends it 45 minutes late, but gets very angry if we show up on time and/or leave on time because we have other classes or responsibilities. 3) Grades the new homework long before even posted on Canvas. So bad
Bruh BC needs a better professor for this class. Take somewhere else and transfer the credit.
He made up his own grading structure to make the classes harder for no reason. He averages all your grades in different categories (essays, finals and participation) and then averages those grades together for your final grade. Missed one day of class and I lose 8% of my grade. Made an assignment due at 12 in the afternoon.
This guy is high on his own supply of success from his business in the 90s. His case studies and materials are out-dated and hilarious to read. Get ready to write a metric ton of discussion questions that will be harshly graded if you don't answer perfectly. Keep in mind Frank is just a proctor, not a professor no actual help will be rendered.
Awful. He does no teaching at all, to the point of actively refusing to even give advice on the class project. This class easily took up more time than both of my programming classes combined, since everything needs to be self taught. Giant syllabus is full of random (and graded) requirements for each assignment that aren't present anywhere else.
Horrible teacher
Save your time and do not take a course with Hatstat for whatever reason. He lacks any type of human empathy. His policies are impossible to follow. He will literally track your activity on Canvas and berate you for any kind of confusion. As everyone else says, he is merely a proctor but an insanely rigid one at that.
Good job Bellevue college, f joke.
he released the grade distribution after the "final". nobody got an A.
Seeing that he's been here for 20 years, that's the only reason he's still here at this point and there is no replacement at this point.
Frank, even defined by his name is super strict. He doesn't accept late work at all and is a person who usually gets accommodations for class. This was super difficult to pass and manage time with.I highly doubt anyone in my class has an A, because there are limited attempts on quizzes and tests online. I took the online class for Business101.
I have never in my life taken a course where a professor deducts points from your assignments that are turned in on the day they are due!!! -10% "not enough time for feedback" he stated. He has a syllabus the size of a dictionary and is ridiculously stuck to it by the book type of person. Has zero compassion or care for our life outside of school.
35 PAGE SYLLABUS. Prof. Frank does not accept late work without exception and is the type of teacher to check the time you made each discussion post to ensure you spent enough time on each one. Ruined my 4.0, would not recommend.
Avoid if possible, worst professor. No late submissions. Every single class I have taken allows assignments to be turned in before 11:59 p.m; this guy decided to place a 12:00 p.m. submission time. I missed many assignments just because of this. Also, 32 page syllabus with footnotes, information overload. Ridiculous.
Tough class with a harsh grading system. The professor is not very engaging and provides little direct help. However, using resources like unstuck ai and the free textbook can help you get through the heavy workload. Consistent effort is key to passing this class.
Grading for discussions is based on vague criteria like 'character' and 'completeness.' There is no possible way to satisfy his expectations due to his subjective grading. Rubrics are useless in this class. He dislikes discussions that are too by-the book, but also dislikes discussions that think too outside-the box. Worst class I've taken at BC.
He does not care about students. He will never grade something on time. He will wait till the last quarter for you to see your grade and no one will get an A. His syllabus is the size of a book and he never helps you become better he just accepts you to be perfect and do things his way.
Tough grader,
The worst professor I've ever had. You're graded based on participation in class and good luck if you have an accent, he will go out of his way to act like he doesn't know what you're saying. Insanely passive aggressive and makes you feel bad for asking questions or not seeing things like him. Good luck getting things back in a timely manner.
The work itself is not that difficult. However, his instructions are wordy and ambiguous. He strays from the syllabus schedule and does not clarify what the new assignment details are. If you don't communicate via the 'correct' procedure, he WILL respond, passive-aggressively, without answering your question. Easter egg hunt for assignment info
Professor did not create a single thing for this class, everything for the class was premade by the company that makes the online textbook. He is merely a proctor of the McGraw hill online textbook not a professor. He gives little to no feedback on assignments and class discussion posts and it often times feels like he doesn't even read them.
The difference between a 90% and an 89% in this class is astronomical. I recommend searching for a different professor before deciding to land on this class.
This might be the worst teacher I've ever had. He grades 2-3 weeks late and expects essay level responses in discussion boards. I do not recommend anyone take any class he offers, he genuinely doesn't teach, just throws a textbook at you and expects perfection.
Don't bother taking him he is awful.
Very strict due dates and deadlines and does not give extensions for ANYTHING. Claims students are using AI in their discussion posts when we get information wrong despite not teaching ANY of the information and relying completely on the textbook and online videos to teach and then giving discussion posts that require information we never learned
