Doesn't teach by the book. Don't take him.
This professor writes everyday on the board has simple techniques that make the job easier for you.I know he doesnt follow the book word by word but his methods are the real way the are done in real life and the easiest way to do things.Highly recommended
Took both classes with him, he is really cool. You have to know your stuff, but he will teach you in an interesting way. Very clear easy to understand. Tests are straight forward.
one word
Very good prof., very srick, knowa how to tech, knows the material, very helpful. the test little bit hard because he is very detail oriented. If you don't like a chalenge, don't take him.
He is not nice he is nasty when you ask questions. If you are a acconting major he is not the one. Lets just say you will have better luck with satan
Very good teacher but it will not be a walk in the park, u have to work
DO not take his class unless you don't have a job and you only go to school fulltime.
DO NOT TAKE HIM AS A PROFESSOR, HE IS VERY UNHELPFUL AND GETS UPSET IF YOU ASK HIM A QUESTION AS IF YOUR SUPPOSE TO AUTOMATICALLY KNOW EVERYTHING IN THE FIRST WEEK, HORRIBLE TEACHER AND VERY UNKIND, STUCK UP, RUDE. THINKS THAT IS THE ONLY CLASS PEOPLE ARE TAKING
Highly helpful instructor. Very easy course!!
he is a good professor
he is the worst prof ever..my advise do not to take him...
The best professor i've had in BMCC, very clear, great teaching style, if you want to learn accounting this is the professor that can teach you just that
No Comments
He is a great professor. he explain well. however,if you want to get an A from him, you really need to study hard. his class is a very chalenge one. if you are majoring accounting,if you really want to learn, you should take him. if you are not, it's not need to push youself.
One Word, ****
Yankees and burger king coupons. Thats all i have to said!! If you took him, you know what am talking about and if you didnt(YOU ARE LUCKY)100% PURE PREMIUM ****.
great teacher hard but really good teacher, cares about students
Total stuck up ****. His beginning speach for the semester he yelled, " I don't care if you are an accounting major or not; either way I will treat you all like accounting majors". He is not easy nor is he a very understanding prof. I took 8 hrs of tutoring Monday thru Fri and I still withdrew from his class right after the midterm.
In fact, most of the times he come late and he doesn't care about what u think. he count his class as four hours in today. he is determine and evil genius in accounting. He gives three exams no final. each exam has 60 multiples choice. All these question from vocabulary.
HE IS A GOOD TEACHER, BUT HE DOES NOTHING TO MAKE YOU GET GOOD GRADES. I WITHREW FROM HIS CLASS ON A SUMMER SEMESTER BECAUSE I WAS GEETTING A D GRADE I TOOK HIM AGAIN I STILL GOT A. HE NEVER EXPLAIN VERY WELL THE PROBLEMS
My intuition was right. I sat in his class for a morning of summer session last year. He gave me the heebie jeebies in that I knew he was gonna be really hard, spend the day talking about himself, and you would spend a lot of time for a low grade. I needed that class, but I could not had bad vibes about his class. I dropped and took Hatami.
the worst professor ever....hate him!
Navas, I got a B in his class. There is no + or -with him. Very fair grader. You do the job and you will do well. He seems a lot tougher than he really is. However, he is very thourough and you will learn accounting whether you want it or not. He came from a humble background and gets upset at people not taking advantage of their opportunities
at first, hes hard but he really isn't I got a B in the class, no +/- in between you must do the homework to understand what is going on, he checks hw the first few times, but after that he doesn't so you don't need to stress too much on it, even though i still stress it cuz i am an accountant major, great prof. you really learn alot from him
Since attending BMCC, I never dropped a class. After I took this professor, it was my first-drop-this-class-or-fail-because-this-professor-suck! He is a mean guy, has no sympathy for full-time workers and full-time students. I dropped his class..hopefully I can take this accounting with Hu
bad teacher, bad attitude
he is fair and enjoys working with students that want to learn. has helpful advice and is sociable and freindly towards students. Great teacher!!
He's a tough professor. He gives massive homework and if you don't do it he gives a mark right by your name, and if 3 people in the class don't have homework, he gives an exam. He does not review for exams. I'm failing this course and now I have to take it up in the summer.
if u wana a good gread naver ever take him. but if u wana know accounting in details than take him.
Worst professor I have ever had. Since attending college I always get A's and B's. Tht is was the first time I had to actually withdraw from a class. He's not very helpful and doesnt seem like he cares.
Does not explain things in depth only referring you to the book. Instead of giving new material, spends loads of time on reviewing homework problems. Seems to lack sense of humor (or has a very strange one), picks favorites. Too anal-retentive, takes points off your exams for little things. This is my second accounting class in BMCC, and I am unhap
He is tough but if you study then you will pass. Very hard to get an A.
He is the best professor I've ever had. He is tough but if you do your homework, pay attention and partisipate in class you'll do great and it won't be a problem to pass the class. You actually learn a lot unlike in most of hte other classes. I wish school had more professor like him - very professional and knows his stuff. Ask him questions!
WORST PROF. ever! He said in his class,"I don't care if you pass or fail. I still get paid" Laughed very hard after saying that. Now You know how much he cares. VERY Hard Prof. Impossible to get an A. Takes points off for small mistakes.
i hate him, bad pro that i ever seem before, and he is bore.
Best teacher
He's just way too strict. He also favors the latin students as he is puerto rican himself. He's extremely strict for an accounting 1 class.
Professor Navas is the WORST professor I've had at BMCC. He is extremely strict. He brags about his salary, and he talks to students as if they were dogs. No respect what so ever. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND HIM AT ALL!!!
This guys is horrible very unprofessional and very strict. You can not miss his class or be late. He does not care about this student and his sense of humor is funny to him but not to others. I wish I read this before taking his class. Also wished i dropped the class but didn't.
Navas is not a good accounting 1 professor. He doesn't have a structured way of teaching and doesn't make sure students understand before moving onto another topic. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM.
Navas rushed through ACC 122 and didn't explain the material very well. I'm aiming to never have to take this Prof again. He was nice to me although he was quite rude to other members of the class. I felt quite disgruntled at the end and regretted my choice of teacher. I'm now hoping to pass Navas' final exam--it's a long shot but miracles do happe
I found him to be sadistically sarcastic - not fun at all.. I felt like I was in elementary school all over again. I would not recco him at all.
Spends way to much time going over the homework. Knows his subject well but you basically have to teach yourself from the textbook. I recommend tutoring if you have him as a professor. Is kind of intimidating to ask questions to him in class because he gets defensive when you do. If you are looking for an easy A take a different teacher. Good luck
I took his class in the winter session!! imagine... in the first day i was really scared.. since I had no choice I had to stay. You have to work very hard for your grade. I only recommend him if you really wanna learn, since you work so hard.. but not for an easy A.
Navas is one of the greates teacher that CUNNY has. Students who are not serious about their future or career should not take his class at all. With him you EARN your grades and not GET your grades. I wish all teachers at BMCC were like him because this can accelaerate the community college to an Ivy leage level. He is a true professor
oh well... So many bad comments. English is my second language. In Accounting are many hard new words. But I love Accounting. I think Prof.Navas is really good teacher. He's pretty clear when he's explaining problems. He's waiting for students questions and answearing them. I recommend him if someone is really interested in getting good knowledge.
Students who are disappointed with the prof.Navas are not serious about Accounting. I strongly recommend him for this class, as he will give a clear accounting base. I enjoy his classes :)
Excellent Professor.
He is the best prof at BMCC.If all professors were like him I think BMCC would have been the best junior college in the country.I like his teaching method, he makes you learning.I would rather take his class and get C cuz i know it's something worthwile.
im looking for mr navas email and or phone number does anyone have it?
I thought dinosaurs were extinct! The class I had with Navas was a miserable experience. Although I did reasonably well in his class I was very disappointed in his approach. He is downright nasty to his students, is extremely self-indulgent and his grading policy is arbitrary and unclear. This was by far the worst experience I had at BMCC.
Prof.Navas is extremely good he does not teach you, but he shows you how to teach yourself. If you want to have good foundation of Acc take his class. If you cannot do well in his class, don't ever think of majoring in accounting. You won't do well at any senior college.
this professor does not teach, if you don't get he will not help
Well. Do not overwhelm things guys!!! I would love if every professor at BMCC or at any other college would teach so professionally and so explicitly as Prof.Navas...I'm international student and for me eng is not a native language but got anA I love the way he teaches. If you are serious about the accounting take his class. I strongly recommend h
By far the worst professor I have had at BMCC. Avoid at all costs.
Professor Navas is the only professor in BMCC that I respect. He is very interested in making sure that you learn. Not just memorize stuff, but learn it.
his style: 1st: you read and he gives short instruction; 2nd, you do the homework;3rd, he teaches when review you hw in class;4th, his instruction on you test(so far, i have one 98 and one 100). He is a good prof, give exact right instruction and a fair grader. Take him and it's good for you----only void him when you want easy A.
Knows the topic but fails to relate knowledge to class. Doesn't break down concepts in textbook in a way that is understandable to students. Is not helpful. You will have to teach yourself. Belittles students when they ask questions in class. Is disrepectful. Assigns excessive amts of hw/only gives 3 exams. Only exams acct for total grade. Avoid.
he is a horrible teacher. Even when you don't understand the homework he does not go ovger with you in detail he just tells the answer and that is it.Don't waste yout time with him if accounting is not your primary major
Hard unhelful obnoxious sarcastic self centered uncaring bitter rude... I hope you get the message. To be a good professor you must know your material and he does, but to teach and to be a good professor you need to have other skills and qualities he DOES NOT HAVE. I dont know how he is allowed to still be teaching! Unbelievable!
For sure, prof is 'old school.' If you are an acc major, you should absolutely take him bc you will leave the course having learned alot. 3 exams with review beforehand, and it pertains to what has been covered in class Prof is firm, but fair; respect his rules and he will help you out. If you are not an acc major, prof might be too harsh..
Yes he gives 3 exams but he does not teachs he let you study on your own and struggle on your own You dont leave his class knowing because of him you leave knowing because you killed yourself to do the millions of home work he gives He knows the subject inside out but he doesnt teach He loves to make students to feel they are retarded. DONT TAKE HI
Not an acct major first of all! this guy needs anger management courses and should be fired right away. Paying too much money to hear someone **** all the time.
He gives way to much homework so you can?t really study it properly because you are just stressed out to have it, doesn?t matter wrong or right. Then on exam you may get f because you don?t have time to do it even if you understood it well. He is nice, but demand too much. Acc is his whole life, but he forgets that some people have other concerns
He is a great professor overall. Very strict which is good because I personally wouldn't respect an easy professor as much. He calls on you to answer when reviewing the homework. This is good because students have to do their hw and pay attention. He went to school at Baruch and I hear their Accounting program is tough.
I hope Prof. Navas read this page. I know you are already pretty old as my father. However, you should give your mild hands to all incoming students. You are so so strict that kills all students. Do u know you have hurt too many students. I never forget you in my life. A person who screwed up my time. I sharpen my knife. No more ignore students.
I will never stop thanking Prof. Navas. he made me the best student ever. I transferred to George Washington University. Because of the foundation of Acc I got from Navas I finished my degree with Accounting GPA of 4. I got grade A in all Accounting Classes. Life would not be easy without him. He taught me to teach myself
I took him spring semestr 10 and I think he is the one of the best.Tough, strict, old-school, not and easy prof.if you majoring in acc then that's what you looking for.otherwise it doesn't worth ur time and nerves.if you want to earn A in his class you have to truly study, but in return you will have brilliant knowledges of principles of acc.
Do not ever dare! He is not nice at all. Knows the material, does not know how to teach. He is hard and unkind. He does not care about students at all.Very sarcastic. Horrible human qualities to be a professor.
He's not an easy professor, and if you want an easy "A" you should probably skip him. He gives A LOT of h/w. He likes to through questions at you out of blue and teaches you to be a quick thinker. His tests are not easy, but he tells you what to study. I enjoyed his classes. He's really good professor if you want to know accouting.
Bad experience. How a person can be so bitter? So sarcastic? So cold? I can't comprehend!
If anyone is reading this comment and still complains about Navas, then he should transfer to 4 yr college.Navas is the easiest professor ever compared to accounting professors in baruch, binghamton, fordham etc. I transfered to GWU in DC and I was astonished when everyday we were coverin ptr plus we had to do all assignment.U Idioot if he is hard
Worst professor ever. How does this guy still have a job? Has to be tenure - there can be no other explanation because he simply terrible.
He is the best! He makes accounting easy ! He helps to deepens my understanding, and makes accounting interesting! I never miss his class, completed all assigned homework, LISTEN to his lecture, tat's a formula for success for all subject! He worked hard to make the material interesting and it actually sticks! Go Distributable( Navas-way)!
Most of Professor Nava's class includes reviewing the homework. He teaches people to study on their own before coming to class. I got an A in his class, but I had to put in a lot of effort. All his questions from the exam comes from the material in the textbook. Pay attention to the things he stress in class in which he repeats over and over again.
Thank you Navas. choose his classes is the best choice. Navas give me very clear about the Accounting class. stady hard, be on time , do homework. you will get A.
If you want to pass Accounting with Prof Navas, DO YOUR HW!! he goes over it and sometimes he asks you for the answers. NEVER skip classes with him.
Awesome professor. Not easy but he cares. I followed him for 122 and 222 and i got a b+ and a b. Highly recommended if you want a good fair teacher. And he responds to email.
Navas is a phenomenon professor. If you want to learn and don't mind doing homework. He is the ideal professor. All his tests are based on the homework and his reviews pretty much tell you what to study. His light-hearted humor is an added dimension which separates him from other professors. There is no free lunch in his class.
His class was ok, but you have to study on your own. If you don't understand the problems, he will tell you to go to tutoring. And he spends to much time going over the hw.
Professor Navas seemed like a great professor to learn accounting from. Although I didn't receive the best grade, if I would have just paid attention and studied, I'm pretty sure I would have gotten an A. He goes over everything and is more than happy to help you with questions. If you want to really know accounting, take his class.
HE CAN BE FUNNY. YOU WILL DO A LOT OF HW BUT DON'T FORGET IT IS A 4 CREDIT CLASS. GAVE 3 EXAMS AND THEY WERE FAIR. COME TO CLASS, DO THE HW, PARTICIPATE AND YOU SHOULD GET A B OR HIGHER
Prof. Navas is a very smart and quick thinker. If you are laid back, he could be humorous, if you can not take it, you can judge him as sarcastic. Anyway, if you take this class, you MUST read your text book more than THREE times, otherwise you couldn't catch the class that's for fact! He teaches A LOT form the book. you intend to learn, take him.
Great Professor!! would take ACC 222with him!!!
think im smarter than him.
Professor Navas can come off as a cranky old man but he is very fair and does a great job of explaining the material. He is however not going to baby you. Just do the homework and pay attention in class and you will do well.
Professor Navas is great and fun, answers any questions and explains clear. If you didn't like him, it's simply cause you don't get the subject. the only problem I had is that he cares only about FINAL, i got better grades for first two exams and I've been doing all of my H/W, but I got my final exam grade anyway, and I think that's not fair.
He became my favorite teacher all throughout the semester. He gives a lot of homeworks but it helped me A LOT in understanding the lesson. If you want to clearly understand the lesson, do your HW. Sometimes you need to study on your own to finish the HW. But all in all he is a GREAT professor. TAKE HIM if you really want to learn accounting.
The best professor ever who really fosters learning in students who want to take more advanced courses later. He gives fair tests, unlike tricky ones at Baruch where professors don't care, rush through and leave you on your own. I recommend him for anybody serious about accounting.
Homework is important since it helps to understand the chapter. He is funny and very knowledgeable. I wouldn't trade him for another professor. By the time you are done with one chapter you would know exactly what's coming on the exam. He is very organized. Pay attention to what he repeats.
Well, it was the first class ever I withdrew from. All we did in class is watch him write our homework on the blackboard without clarifying to us a thing. His respond to any student's questions was he just handed them a tutoring sheet. If you don't want to be stuck with the worst accounting professor ever and ruin your GPA DON'T TAKE HIM!
One of the best acc prof. I came cross in BMCC. He is very experienced with his teaching and very responsible to his students. As u know him well u would get he is a funny guy with sense of humor. Just following him in class, attending his class on time, doing HW seriously, easy get A. Great prof. To students who truly wanna learn things.
He made accounting simple and very understandable. I just want to say one thing: I really DISLIKE accounting because it's very boring and tedious. Well, Professor Navas is a funny professor who made the subject interesting. I took him for a once a week Friday class and he managed to maintain the class' attention.
PASS is not easy, with a lot of HW, but if you are acc major, and you want work hard. take him, 2 exam60% final40%
This class goes hell fast, and he never teach lesson. In addition, the most important thing is that, he force you to read the book you own and checking homeworks during the class. If you really want to take this class, be prepare to receive C or less. Moreover, he said that too, its about only 20% students in his class can pass the class.
Great professor! If you want to learn, take him.
He is one of the worst teachers that I had so far. Stay away
Prof. Navas is a really great accounting professor. I learned accounting 2 with him in the fall 2014. I never forgot what he taught us. Now I'm going to Baruch. Students who earned an A in his acc classes, they will also earn an A in ACC 3000 and ACC 3100 at Baruch. He is for the students who really want to learn acc and have a fire inside!
Learn accounting take him!
the worst professor ever!! do not take him if you want to ruin your GPA. he expects you to read the whole book by yourself and assign you a lot of homework's. He doesn't care if you get the material or not, he will tell you to go tutoring. you will be so lost in this class. I highly regret taking his ACC 122 class.
Professor Navas is a Great Teacher, yes he gives a lot of homework and if you care at all to learn accounting you won't whine about it ether because in the end when you get to the higher levels account all that homework comes in handy because you would be amazed to find out you actually learned something. he will help you if you talk to him.
on the first day of class he told that nobody will pass his class. "oh great motivation". expect read a lot on ur own. moreover, he gives too much homework and it is from the next chapters. oh really?! yes. participation and homeworks are extra credit. if u don't understand what is in chapter, he will tell u go to the tutoring. so nice...
This teacher is average. He knows his stuff but isn't really clear and you have to go to him to clarify. Accounting in general is hard so he did a alright job at teaching it. You have to stay ontop of your work. If you don't you will fail.
This was my biggest mistake to take him for ACC 222. He just ruined my GPA. I am an accounting major but his class is HORRIBLE. He don't know how to explain. Toughest exam ever. He gives homework before he explain the chapter. Please be very careful before taking him. Avoid him and save your GPA.
If you want to work your butt off, this is the class. Lots of homework, and reading. Very though greater, he thinks we're all accountants. Lower my gpa and have to take this class again, waste of time and money.
His class is a lot of work but if you put in the work you will get the grades. If you read the chapter once and pay attention you can easily get a B or higher. A lot of the questions on the test are really easy if you read the book and most the questions only have two possible answers. He prepares you for the work load of a 4 year school.
BMCC needs more professors like FRANK NAVAS! yes he is tough and strict, very serious about his subject ,but he gives KNOWLEDGE that will help to succeed in a career. Love his jokes and riddles. Makes us think deeper. He is a DEBIT in the acc department. GREAT PROFFESSOR. Too bad I can not take more classes with him.
THE BEST!!!! Tough but I learned!!!
Frank Navas was an excellent teacher of accounting. He had so much knowledge on the subject and did a great job of teaching it to his students. One thing that stood our was he never collected any homeworks. They were only there to strengthen your knowledge of the material. If you applied yourself in his class there's no reason to not get an A.
The worst; class lowered my GPA. Professor is not helpful at all. If you don't understand something he will not help, he will tell you to go to tutoring. HW's are given before even going over the chapters. To top it off the professor always makes pessimistic remarks about how we will fail his class. Great, just the motivation I need. DO NOT TAKE.
Excellent professor!! tough grader but you really learn a lot with him. Exams aren't easy if you don't review and do the homework.
He is a great professor but very tough grader. I did every single homework and participated everyday and still didn't get any credit for that. The grade I got was based on the exams that I took. Not one single point for participation! Not to mention that I only missed one class and had a doctor's note for it. Not the best accounting class.
Professor Navas is perhaps one of the best professors BMCC has to offer. Although his exams are tough, they are very fair and accurately reflect what you have learned in class. When you don't understand something, all you have to do is ask and he'll go out of his way to help you. Highly recommend for both 122 and 222.
I took this class based on the good reviews just to see the results myself. Navas is a great professor but his teaching was unclear. He taught as if the students supposed to know the material. The textbook wasn't that much of a help either. He gives sarcastic replies if you ask a question making us, the students feel dumb. He totally ruined my GPA!
Professor Navas is an excellent teacher. It was not until I took ACC222 did I appreciate how good he is. I had a different professor for 222. Only two people in ACC222 had a grade of over 90 in each of the 3 tests given and did not have to take the final. Both of us took Navas for ACC 122. We were well prepared, unlike many of the other students.
You won't pass if you fail his test. Three test are based on what you get. However, if you skip class and don't attend, then its automatic F. He teaches you how to do the problems, the reading is on your own. Test is based on what you read. He's not a bad person, but his teaching style isn't my style.
this dude is hard. he gives lots oh homework that he doesn't grade. BUT if you do the work (all of it), show up, and participate, you should do ok. he notices when people put the time in and bumps you accordingly. do the work, raise your hand, and dont be intimidated by his" i've lived in nyc and taught here since the begining of time attitude."
Well, he is strict about attendence and everything. He doesnt give work outside ths book. Read your book and try to understand, rather than memorizing. He is a awsome professor. You gotta work hard to earn your A's and if you don't blame the proff. For it.
well, let me tell you, if you are not studying the book and hope to pass this class. It ain't happening. not only for this class but for all the class. This is the easiest accounting class and he is strict but then he is clear.
Greeeat professor , very respected and knowledgable. Teaches from the book , you must read the chapters before you come to the class. Too many homeworks but very useful , he makes you work hard for an easy class. He only grades you from the 3 tests hi gives you. Stricted about the little things and makes life complicated sometimes.
Knowledgeable, tough but fair.
he don't care about you if you learn something or not he just send you too read and if you don't understand he send you to tutoring instead of his showing us how to do it. even if you participated if class he don't care cause he is going to calculate his grades without it
FIRE HIM!!!!!!! WORST PROFESSOR EVER. VERY SARCASTIC. PUSHES YOU TO THAT POINT THAT YOU HAVE TO BITE YOUR TONGUE AND CONTINUE BEING RESPECTFUL.. DO NOT TAKE HIM OR YOUR GPA WILL BE RUINED..
More experienced students would appreciate his "tough love" style, but new students may be too intimidated to participate. I was for 122, but took Frank again for 222. Amazing class structure: Homework is reviewed in class, SO DO IT! No final, just three multiple choice exams. Tells great stories, and lots of time for your questions on material.
Greatest professor IF YOU ARE AN ACCOUNTING MAJOR! If you are just fulfilling a requirement and are in search of an easy A please do not take his class. There will be a lot of reading and note taking. For accounting students he is the best to prepare you for advanced courses and is very knowledgeable about working in the field.
Excellent Prof. if you're willing to learn of course. If you're willing to get a deep understanding of accounting then take his class.
Would not recommend. Very tough and not understanding.
why give homework on topics that weren't even covered yet in class? accounting isn't a self explanatory subject. you need someone to guide you through the steps to learn. This guy teaches so fast , you have to go to youtube videos to learn. DROPPING THIS CLASS!!!! A round of applause to BMCC ACCOUNTING DEP for keeping that guy!
Everyone is complaining about this professor. Hes a guy that practice tough love! He might act like hes harsh but its only for u to do the HW which will help u out a lot .If youre an accounting major hes your guy .Note: theres so much he has to cover on limited time so its not his fault that he got to rush through . But his lecture is amaz
Not helpful at all.
very easy class. if you read the textbook before class it's very simple. he tells a lot of jokes. He's super critical and will call you out for not knowing but this helps. 3 exams multiple choice. Home work isn't very long 2 hours max.
I would not recommend taking this course if youre not that into accounting. Hes a very hard grader and not understanding. Take this class if you enjoy learning by yourself and love reading everything in the textbook word by word. Its not an easy class and he doesnt make it easier.
I don't understand the negative feedback at all. I took this class with a full schedule 15 credits and a full time job. I dedicated my time to reading and the problems. The concepts are tricky but don't be afraid to mess up, thats part of learning. Do the Hw and you'll learn. think your wrong send and email or ask him in class. Great guy. EARNED! A
Professor Navas is as clear cut as they come. You need to be in class, do the homework, read the chapter, and do well on exams. He gives a chapter a week with questions, 3-4 chapter exams and checks homework. To do well: score well on exams (gives curve on first two exams), ask questions and study at least 4 hours a week outside of class.
Why all the hate? Navas is an amazing professor. He's the best when it comes to transmitting knowledge. If you're an accounting major I'll definitely recommend this professor. He is strict but very nice at the same time. DO YOUR HOMEWORK its for your own benefit, I've learn that the hard way.
A very tough guy! but full of love for his students on the low, He is mean sometimes but it is because he wants you to try to attempt to learn the mateerial, if you are not an accounting major look away! But if you're trying to learn take prof FRANK! He is one of the professor I will always remember! BMCC's "GEM" , !!SUGRIM!!THANKS MR, NAVAS!
Hes one of the best professors at BMCC. He may be strict and tough on students, but its b/c he truly cares. Just do all your homework and read before class. Theres two exams and one final and he grades you based on those grades. Dont miss class, you will miss out on a lot of concepts, but you wont, lectures are helpful and time moves quickly.
Prof. Navas seems tough and his classes may seem hard. The truth is that if you work consistently by reading, doing the homework and being active in class, you will get a good grade. He gives you feedback as if dealing with high school students. He is very passionate about his work. No phone or talking or breaks during his class.
I love prof. Navas! He really cares for his students, he tries to come across strict but in reality hed do anything for you to learn. His tests are easy as long as you read textbook, theres normal amount of hw that prepares you for exam. His lectures are helpful & clear, he is funny and makes jokes. Show up, do hw, read and youll be good. 10/10
Hes definitely one of those professors you want to avoid taking in college because he will make you feel like youll never get the material. Hes very rude. I had to take him for 4 hours straight and theres no break no food or even drinks ! Hes awful ! He will make you feel insecure for not understanding.
Prof. Navas is the best professor to take foundational accounting classes with if your major is accounting. In the beginning, you may become irritated and ask yourself why did I take this class? However, you will really love him looking back if you are ever thinking of going to Baruch for accounting major. Take him and WORK you will be better-off
One of my favorite professors thus far. Great if you are a finance major. He assigns reading from the textbook and assigns a decent amount of homework but this is college. Accept the responsibility and hold yourself accountable and you should pass with an A. I would not recommend him if you are immature or lazy. Currently taking him for ACC 222.
if you follows his rules and his way of teaching you would be fine!!! final Grade is base on 3 Exams he gives throughout the semester.
very respectful, nice and funny. when it comes to his course you most pay attention and follows his rules, I took ACC 122 and 222 with him, i really like his way of teaching and how it gets to you and made you learn. you just need to read read as much as you can. and follows his rules. grade is base on 3 exams he gives throughout the semester.
He is a nice person but he is strict as well you can't eat or drink in this 3 hours 40 minutes class. Like really! and he gives a lot of homework like he thinks we don't have any other classes . You can't even talk in his class
Prof Navas teaches directly from the book, goes through all the homework on the board, and encourages participation. I felt like I got a good mastery of the principles in his class, and I liked his teaching style. He is funny, and always had a joke for us too. Set clear expectations.
This professor would only give 3 exams. I like him. He has the most amazing lectures. I took him for ACC 222, but I failed because I took 18 credits and was so sick that semester. I felt discouraged, but I don't mind. I still don't know what attracted me to his class, maybe the reason that he's extremely clear on his teaching.
Professor Frank is my first accounting teacher. His class really impressed me. Although we had to read a lot and do the book's exercises, he made very clear lectures to answer all the questions you may have. If you are a business major, Study hard, everything is worthy because what you learned today applies to future accounting classes.
Class participation is a must, test heavy, if you study you'll get a good grade. Seems strict but actually very cool.
