I took Dr. Nigro's English IC online this semester and I must say that I have learned more in his class than any English class I've taken before. His class is challenging but also easy enough to understand, not to mention Dr. Nigro is extremely and friendly.

Dr. Nigro's class was very well structured. Each week you knew what was expected of you. The essays were hard but Dr. N gave great feedback to help you with the next essay.

I appreciate Dr. N. because he is very personable and fun. He is straight forward and honest. There is no second guessing about what we are supposed to do because he is very clear on assignments. He encourages questions and quickly responds to e-mail. He is available by phone and in person. He obviously cares about the success of his students.

Dr. N is a fantastic teacher. His lessons are "crystal" clear, well set up, and the textbook we used was very informative and thought-provoking. He always seems happy to help students during his office hours and responds to emails promptly. English class has never been exciting for me, but this semester I felt I learned a lot of useful things.

Thoughtful, helpful when you took him up on his office hours. Took his course online, made you really think with some creative essays like arguing the side you disagree with. Always loved to read and write, but made me like English again!

Dr. Nigro is great! I took the class online and he is extremely organized. The student knows exactly what is expected and when things are due. He responds to emails very quickly and is incredibly helpful. I liked this class so much that I'm also taking another literature class that he teaches. I wholeheartedly recommend this professor!

He is very, very helpful. If you ask questions via e-mail, he would answer you within one or two days.

He is extremely good. I took his class with the online component. The class has an online discussion forum, about ten six question quizzes, ten summaries on short readings, five papers the last two research but all about a 1,000 words, and about a dozen smaller assignments. This class is lots of fun, as long as you keep up. Dr.N. is a lot of fun!

He has an excellent and interesting way of teaching and topics. Due to illness I had to withdraw but I loved his class.

He is so sincere and funny someties, but most of the time, he is basically kind to anyone.

he's pretty awesome. the class itself is really laid back and is 2 hours long, but he lets you go after the first every day after the first month. the papers can be difficult if you don't work on them a lot, but he has tons of time to help during the extra hour of class. very nice with quirky humor.

This is my favorite professor. I had never been able to write good essays until I was in his class. I would definitely recommend him as a teacher. He has high expectations, but is extremely helpful. I LOVED this class!

Dr. Nigro is an amazing professor! I have never enjoyed a teacher more than him. There is a lot of work but as long as you keep up, it's pretty easy. He eases you into all three big papers and is very helpful. If you ever need help, don't be afraid to ask him, he is very approachable and gives great advice. He's all around a great teacher.

Great teacher! I had him for an online class, and the way it was set up made it easy to do. He was clear about things and not too tough of a grader either. I don't particularly like English, but I enjoyed his class (and you only have to write 4 essays as opposed to 8 in some other classes). I would definitely recommend him!

Dr. Nigro is one of the most gifted individuals at Shasta College. His was the first course I ever took. I learned everything that I wanted to, and more! Now, 4 years later, he remains a great friend.

I took online, and I still found him humorous and intelligent, and normally I'm not crazy about online classes. Very accessible too. Great guy!

Nice guy. I was disappointed by lack of originality in assigned reads. Good sense of humor, but irritated me w/ how many movie references he makes in a class about books. Took 13A online, w/ previous exp w/ most of the lit & got an A overall and on essays w/o doing any assigned reading. Google=your friend, online quizzes sometimes from sparknotes

I took Dr. Nigro's English 1A online this semester and have signed up for his 1b in the fall. I learned more in his class than Idid in any other English class I've ever taken. It was hard but he's very clear as well as extremely hepful and friendly.

I learned more from Dr. Nigro then I have from any other English teacher. Sometimes the lectures were terribly boring and you had to fight to stay awake but for the most part it was as interesting as English can be and he worked hard to make sure everyone understood. Don't forget the online discussions if you are in the hybrid class!

Great teacher! He holds a peer editing session before papers are due so that people can make corrections, assigns interesting books, and has an interest in the well-being of his students. <3

english 1a with Dr. Nigro was not too hard if you are on top of things. 3 essays and you have to do more for the next. He does a peer reviewing about a week before an essay is due; It really helps.

Probably was one of the best instructors at SC - now has moved on to become a Dean. A major loss to the students.

Phenomenal!!!!! Dr. Nigro is the best teacher you will ever have. I was not a strong english student prior to the course, but after, it became my strongest subject. Not only does he teach it well, but he has such infectious passion one can not help but get excited about english. Dr. Nigro is knowledgeable teacher and an amazing person.

Dr. Nigro is perhaps, the greatest english teacher a person could ask for. I have been through two of his courses and each time my interest level has spiked. He has a great sense of humor and belongs at a four year university. Shasta College is lucky to have him!
