the usual but a bit challenging
Tests are challenging, KNOW the material-all of it.. Seriously. It requires a lot of studying. There are 2 writing assignments, a case assigned as a group (at random), 3 exams, 1 cumulative final, and participate as much as you can! Gives good lectures, doesn't bore you.
This class is tough. The material is dense and challenging for most. I throughly enjoyed the class though. Perez is excellent at teaching this subject. He gives many opportunities to go to office hours for clarification, and is more than willing to do his best to help you. He wants you to learn. But because its dense, DON'T SKIP!!
Just do all the work. Be clear and thoroughly answer the questions on the paper (they are easy grades that help your overall grade in the end). He is ALWAYS available for you to visit him on his hours and actually takes the time to discuss what you don't understand. Study a lot for his exams, so much info that makes it challenging
Perez taught me a lot about business law. Lots of reading. participate in class. 4 exams including the cumulative final. (he drops the lowest one). 2 written assignments that require reading, not hard. Honestly, read the book and know the main concepts. This class can be difficult if you procrastinate. Also, go to class, don't skip.
Difficult and dense material. Good professor. Seemed impossible at first. Just study, read your book and be ready for those exams.
3 tests (lowest score gets dropped), 1 cumulative final exam, 4 writing assignments, and participation points. Covers material quickly in class. I suggest getting the online Mindtap software where you can do practice questions and reading every chapter in the book if you are trying to get an A- or an A. Tests are difficult.
This is NOT an easy class, however, professor Frank is a very nice guy who will take the time to go over the concepts. Be prepared to read the textbook cover-to-cover in full detail, as his tests will make you apply legal concepts, rather than just regurgitate definitions. His grading policy is fair, 3 midterms (lowest dropped) and cumulative final
If you take his class, get ready for a professor that only cares about getting through the material as fast as possible. He expects you to know as much about law as a law student. He constantly changes the exam answers to match his own bias. Overall, his definitions of textbook words had the word inside of the definition
Extremely dense class. He makes the assumption that you should already know as much as he does. He asks you to take a day, get dressed up, drive downtown, pay for parking, and go to the courthouse to witness a case. You then write a paper on this and for all this effort, you get 1 point!! Likes to trick you by using negatives trick questions.
It was challenging to study for ACC 473, from the beginning of the semester. It takes tremendous effort to study Law. I appreciate Mr. Perez's patient and compassion, and his professional experience. He is always in his office during the office hour, when I need extra tutoring. Mr. Perez is a true educator, inspiring students to keep learning.
The class is straight forward and consists of 3 exams, a courthouse visit with a short summary, and a few case brief's. Professor Perez doesn't expect you to know the book cover to cover but understanding key concepts is important. Read ahead and take your own notes before class and the multiple choice tests will be easy. Overall great professor
His class is interesting, but difficult. He has a lot to cover, so he goes through it very fast. It can be tough to keep up. You don't know which case you'll get selected to present, so you have to be prepared to talk about any case. Luckily, it's not worth a lot and he helps guide you through the case so it's pretty casual.
he goes through a lot of material and requires you to explain the details of a case in the book so yes you need the book. final is comprehensive. a few writing assignments but fairly easy. if you study hard and do the work you'll pass. pretty interesting class overall.
There are group projects so choose your team wisely. The final is over 9 chapters no longer comprehensive. 2 chapters a week on lecturers, print the power point, take notes, study notes and you will pass. The book is needed for reading and understanding the material better, plus the case you will be assigned to explain when he gets to your chapter
Prof Perez cares to help his students learn. The course is A LOT of material but he gives good case examples to help students remember topics. The class is memorization heavy. If you do the reading and go to class you will have a better chance at a good grade. Start studying for tests early to stay on top of things.
Great guy, really wants you to understand the material. Understands you are business not law majors, and emphasizes the things that matter. Tests can be rough if you are unprepared, so study, read the textbook, and come to class for lectures. Group project was a pain, so find a group early and you will likely have a better time, otherwise easy prof
Perez is an outstanding guy, UNLV needs more guys like him. He is very intelligent in the field of law. Knows what he is talking about. Gives amazing and easy to follow examples and justifies them. Tests are kinda hard. He is always there for his students and makes that clear. Kind of hard to hear him in such a big room. Pay attention easy pass
He's a good professor and knows what he is teaching. He's also fast in replying to emails. The class consists of 4 exams, discussions, 1 group project, a case briefing, and 2 ec quizzes. I suggest going to lectures and rewatching the recordings to get a better understanding of the materials since there's a lot. It's manageable as long as you study.
Good professor, final grade consists of 1 group project and 4 exams. Exams were difficult but manageable if you reviewed the lectures. Final was not comprehensive which was nice given the amount of material covered in the class.
Great professor, class consists of 1 group project and 4 exams, final is not comprehensive which was nice given the amount of material taught in the class. Tests were difficult but manageable from reviewing the lectures.
This class is challenging. The written assignments are the hardest part of the class, especially the group project. If you put in the time and effort, and collaborative well with your team, you'll do OK. The exams are relatively easy IF you study--HARD. Even though I technically didn't pass the class, I still had a pleasant experience with him.
I'm begging you guys to avoid this guy. The worst class ever in my entire college life and the class is not even halfway yet. Tests are insanely difficult, no study guide, going over lectures extremely fast that you have to download the lectures and rewatch them with making bunch of pauses and resumes. I wish I can say more but well just avoid him
I really enjoyed Professor Perez class. He is one of those Professors that makes you learn. If you study the handouts and pay attention in class you will pass! This class is not for you if you are used to cruisin by. It will not work out in your favor. Keep up wit the handouts and use the book as reference for a more detailed guide!
HE IS AN AMAZING PROFESSOR. I didnt know a thing about law but he really dumbs it down for you. This class is hard and conceptual. Goes thru A LOT of material but wants you to understand. Dont bother reading the book waste of time, pay attention to his examples. Replies to emails FAST. Doesnt make you feel dumb for asking 100 questions, so ASK.
The professor seemed nice and was definitely there if you had a question for him. We had a group project that took quite a bit of time but it wasn't too bad. This a memorization-heavy class so be prepared. The exams were not cumulative so that was kinda nice. Overall, if you memorize the powerpoints you can pass the class easily.
This class is infamous - hardest class ive ever taken, but enjoyed it enough to make me consider law school. READ THE REVIEWS. Its very dense and if you don't study, you wont pass. The average class grade on the first test was between a D and an F. Prof Perez is incredibly knowledgeable, take as much as you can from this class. Hard, but worth it.
I found this class to be easy, but the material comes intuitively to me so YMMV. However, what I can say is that he is a great lecturer and is able to make complex topics much simpler. If he provides study guides, use them. They are the best way to ace the exams. There is a group project that can take a while, but it's not that bad. Take him!
If you study the material (LECTURES) for a couple of hours outside of class YOU WILL BE FINE. I dont know why Perez has so many bad reviews. He cares about his students & wants us to know the topics. He gives feedback 1 on 1 after each exam. With that said you need to study for this class, it is not a freebie but is not hard. Take the class.
His powerpoints make it sound like you should know all this stuff already. It's not written in "easy to understand" English. There is a lot of work for this class. He also has a mandatory assignment where he makes you dress up, go downtown, pay for parking, and go to the courthouse to witness a case.
Passionate professor but the homework and tests are difficult. Oh and group projects. You absolutely need to study many hours in order to get an A in this class.
The amount of reading you have to do for this class is insane. His group project requires you to read hundreds of pages. His powerpoints are very confusing unless you already know about law. Useful class but I would avoid this professor.
The teacher is to the books . No changing. No going out of line. Test is on the day with lock down no exceptions. Long lecture videos and not very clear on what to study.
Learned so much!! Didn't use the book, too confusing. Docx. chapter outlines & lectures (30-60 mins each) had all the material on tests. Watch the 5min case videos* Professor was helpful, & responsive on email & during office hrs /Web-Ex. Reviewed test scores individually. 4 tests, several short participation assign, 3 Group cases : start early
This class is not hard, but you have to study to pass with an A. I ended up with a B due to not studying after the break. As long as you attend (or watch if online) his lectures, study his notes slides, and study guides. You will be fine. Do his other assignments as well and any other extra credit. Make sure to work on the group project early.
I was worried when I heard a lot of students talk about how difficult and time-consuming BLW is. It was one of my easiest classes this semester. The exams don't stray far from the power point slides and the case briefs are simple. He has a very nice and relaxed pace and tone in the uploaded lectures, I enjoyed this class!
One of the most difficult classes of my semester, definitely time-consuming and memorization heavy. Four exams and one semester-long group project. You need the textbook to pass... his lectures are basically copy and paste from the book, so not helpful unless you enjoy listening to his monotone voice. Take Jones, avoid Perez at all costs
Professor Perez does not give any leniency, his class is hard. However, if you watch the videos and read over the study guide he provides you will do great. The Supreme Court project was intense, with a lot of writing and legal reading.
The lectures were time wasting and boring, plus he makes the tests very convoluted for no reason. My grade only improved when I stopped going to the useless lectures and did research on my own. Most of the class time is used for "case studies" that are not on the exams anyways and it is what he uses for participation. Avoid.
This class was challenging but, as long as you put in the time and effort you will pass the class. The test was strictly from the module notes. I took in summer session 2 so the pace was much faster and the exams had more chapters. For example, our final was from chapters 11-19. Meeting with him during these office hours to review will help a lot!
I had a lot of fun in his BLW 302 class. He managed to make boring topics pretty entertaining and funny. I would take any of his class anyday! As long as you pay attention in the lectures, you'll be fine
It is a shame Perez is the only professor teaching BLW at UNLV. He has a massive ego and ruled the entire semester on a power trip. Unclear grading criteria for written assignments and makes his own rules, not stipulated in rubrics. Very few assignments outside of exams to help balance the course, and only about 100 non-exam points. Replace him.
The main difficulty of this class comes from the amount of information covered. The professor explains quickly but clearly. Come to class as often as you can. The lecture slides for each chapter are available to students on Canvas; I recommend using them for notes. Work with people that will contribute to the group paper.
Majority of the class was w/ a group which was easy. But the exams are difficult which he acknowledges but doesnt care. There are 5 and none are dropped (compared to other classes w/ 3-4 and often at least 1 is dropped). It is A LOT of reading and law terms to memorize. Exams are situational. Good luck
Your grade is basically based on tests that make no sense. The tests are too difficult and the rest of the assignments are basically useless for your grade if you do not pass the tests. I cannot hear anything he says in the lectures and the explanations are so confusing you will have to teach yourself.
This class sucks. Best of luck to you if you get made a group leader. This class is taking more effort than my full time job. I think he thinks this is year 1 law school. He makes it very clear, very early that he doesn't care about anything that makes you human. He's the only professor for the class which sucks.
You have to put the effort to get a good grade in this class. He covers a lot of content but will answer questions if needed. Exams are difficult but his review sessions before the exam are super helpful. Get started on the group paper as soon as possible. Lots of bad reviews but if you make the effort to attend lecture and study you should be fine
Very difficult. Read the book, attend the lecture, take notes, and you will succeed. Every person who gives this professor a good grade doesn't work outside of school for more than 10 hours a week. Try taking this class your last semester or over the summer if you can.
One of my favorite classes. If you're looking for a challenge, this class is for you. His lectures are great, and he always makes it easier for students to understand the concepts. Attend his study sessions, and use his practice quizzes; they help a lot. Stay on top of the final project and DO NOT TRY TO CHEAT! (He can find out)
Professor Perez isn't a bad professor like I would hear. His class is one of the most challenging classes I've taken so far but as long as you study the material and use his study guides outlines you should be okay. I actually enjoyed some of the material I learned. Be careful with exams. He doesn't tolerate cheating.
You honestly don't have a choice, Perez is the only person who teaches this class. The first test is going to kill you. Pay attention in every class, don't take this class online. He is so strict about cheating. There's no curves. Good luck, and don't take fin 301 during the same semester if possible.
I recommend taking his class in person. I took it online, which is not recommended for this type of material. You have to really understand what each term means in order to take the exams successfully. He is a good professor; he clearly has a passion for law. However, I wish there were more opportunities to practice the concepts.
This class is so time-consuming and the tests are weighed way more than the assignments/projects the professor assigns. However, the professor won't hesitate to dock points if you don't put the most minuscule details in your projects. Read the textbook for the tests, it helps!
prepare to go to every lecture although attendance is not mandatory, it definitely helps. Read the textbooks, go to review sessions, and study as much as you can for each exam. Test are hard. give enough time to study you should be fine. Learn to love playing pretend lawyer cause this class was kinda fun but kinda draining throughout the end.
Perez is an amazing teacher! He is genuinely funny and cares for his students. He's a former lawyer, and is clearly very intelligent. His class is a lot of work, but if you put in the effort you should be fine. Keys to success: show up to every class, and read your textbook. He is very fair and even has study sessions for his exams. Very fun class!
Professor Perez was probably the best professor I had in my academic career. Anyone who says otherwise is mad that you had to pay attention and take tests. Law is hard in general. But he makes everything so straightforward. Just study the outlines and you will ace the tests. He cares so much and is such a kind soul. He impacted me very positively.
Professor Perez is amazing! He is funny and does his best to input real-life situations into what we are learning. He cares about his students to pass and even advises everyone on how to study. It is up to you as a student to take or leave it. The material is heavy but you need to study to understand the material better. Just don't be lazy.
THIS CLASS IS HARD, but Perez will help you! Put in the effort: 1 Listen in class 2 Go into office hours if confused, he will describe anything and will never make you feel bad for making mistakes 3 Utilize his notes, as they mirror the exams. ALSO: He helped us during the UNLV sh**ting. Kept all of us safe, such a great person, like wow
Take this class at a different institution and then transfer the credits to UNLV. This professor has no life outside of teaching, he assumes the same for his students. Students giving him a good rating definitely do not have a job and use their parents money for UNLV. Not a class for you if you are a functioning member of society outside of school.
His class, at least the online version, requires extensive reading and memorization. His canvas is an absolute mess and seems he has no desire to see you succeed. He has no study guide and instead has an impromptu review before the exam with short notice. If you take his class, make sure you have no job or family, he assumes you do not.
Professor Perez understands that his class is hard and so he does his best to make sure you pass his exams and is available for help. In the class, he makes it known that it is tough for many students but don't be lazy and make efforts to succeed and you will be fine. Study well on his exams and do well on the papers.
I was worried about his class initially but honestly it has been good so far. Exams aren't necessarily difficult if you watch his lectures and take notes (plus no cumulative final). Just find your own way of understanding the material and you should be solid! The Supreme Court assignment takes a lot of time, so work diligently with your group.
Professor Perez is a great teacher and has a tremendous passion for law. It is a hard class, so be prepared to study literally everything. Although he doesn't provide study guides, you'll do fine in class if you watch his lectures and read the book. There is a group project that took a lot of time and analysis. Overall, it was a great class!
Study ppt and do hw, you will get A. For group project its EZ, remember to cite the analysis section cuz thats 20% of the project grade.
Perez is a great guy. His lectures are unnecessary to pass the course, but he cares about his students and helps them pass. I would recommend reading the textbook and going to his coffee hours. As long as you do that and read the textbook, there should be no reason you don't pass. Also, there is a group assignment component to this class.
Perez himself is a good professor. His presentations make it easy to understand. 5 exams, 2 group projects/presentations, 1 20+ page group paper, and a couple of discussion boards. Too much work but study and you'll be fine. Watch the lectures, read the textbook, and take practice quizzes and you'll get a good grade. Grades light on written work.
Difficult class but Professor Perez make it easy to explain the concepts and his lecture videos and PowerPoint slides is detailed and understandable. The exams are hard but if you study enough and do the practice quizzes you'll do fine. There is also a group paper to write but it is straight forward.
Professor Perez is a great professor, and I loved his class. However, the last two exams did not mirror the lecturer or book. And he is obsessed with people cheating. Take the online class because you can watch the recorded lectures as needed. And get ready to study and be stressed all semester
Perez is an amazing, knowledgable professor. Yes, law is hard, but I actually loved this course. You have to put in the time. Make sure to watch lectures, skim case videos, and study flashcards. DO ALL THE WORK. It was tough taking this course with 4 others, hence the B, but if you have the time to put in, you will get that A. Super interesting!
One of the best classes I've taken! Focus on lectures (examples show up on exams) and practice quizzes. 5 multiple choice exams (lockdown browser), major group paper (lots of reading), a couple of other assignments & extra credit. Study sessions are helpful. Book required (older eds ok). Be careful ab Discord--don't talk about exam on exam day!!
This was a tough course, I took it during summer so it was compacted into 5 weeks. I would put aside 3ish hours after work to read and watch lectures, flashcards also helped me a lot. If you stay on a schedule it's not that bad. You can tell he cares and is there for his students as he knows this is a lot of information. 10/10 would take again.
This professor is so frustrating and irritating to deal with. He is often redundant and nitpicks details. I'd recommend to triple-check assignments before submitting!
Great professor! He clearly wants the best for his students and explains information fast but fluently. Don't be afraid to ask questions! The material can get confusing but you really need to put the effort in. This is NOT a class you can sit back and relax. One of the best classes I've taken not because I like law, but its important to know.
Terrible professor. His lectures go so fast over the material & you're tested over the most minuscule details I would spend hours studying for the exam with other students in the class, reading the textbook, going over his lectures, going to his 'coffee hour' & still fail the exam. I think that is entirely unreasonable; the exams should be easier.
Frank is a really good professor. I don't know what some of these people are talking about. Yes, it is a challenging class and yes he is aware of that. But her wants to help his students succeed in his class, and he's very approachable. Expect this class to be very interesting, yet test heavy.
Remember that Prof. Perez is a lawyer through and through. Make sure to read the material before & after lectures. The class is very content heavy & is a lot of work, however, I've definitely learned a lot & enjoyed things he's taught! He's caring, funny, and a decently good professor. Use the practice quizzes & use Quizlet for exams. Good luck!
Perez is a great example of how you can have a super difficult class but still a great professor. He's clearly passionate about the material and loves to teach. My only complaint is that he's very fast paced but I can't even blame him since there's so much material to cover. Come to class, sit close to the front, lock in and you'll do good.
One of the best professors I've ever had. The class is interesting and he teaches the concepts in an easy to understand way. I'm blown away by some of the poor reviews given my experience. It's a lot of memorization and knowing how to apply the concepts. Overall, this class is not that difficult. Anyone that complains is just lazy.
Great professor! Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. If you're nervous to take this class, don't be! Yes, it's a difficult class, but you will leave this class with so much useful information. 5 Exams (100 points each), 1 group project (get started early) and a few misc assignments. Review the outline and take the practice quizzes.
Hardest non-math class I've taken. Paranoid about cheating to the point it effects honest people. Doesn't record exam review sessions which can be during working hours, no study guides. Lecture videos are comprehensive and reviewing them got me at least a B on every exam. Group project sucks if you get a bad group but classwork otherwise is fine.
Great professor and one of my favorite classes. It's a lot of material to remember, but he has slides and an outline for each exam unit. I got an A on every exam and managed to end the course with a 99%. The material is not difficult. There's just a lot of it, so study as you go. The only con was the group project. My group members were awful.
Worst professor I have ever taken at this school and I have been here for 4 years. Anyone who says this class is not hard does not work a full time job or take more than 2 classes per semester. Be aware of group projects, my grade suffered severley because I had a terrible group. Perez is strict and pompous, harsh grader and overall awful.
Class was really straightforward but the lectures get boring. If you pay attention and at least try to read the book and study a bit for the exams you'll be just fine. I was busy with 4 harder classes so I barely put in time for this class outside of lecture and I still did not think class was that bad. Perez is a good professor and explains well.
I enjoyed this class. I'm not sure if it's because I have an interest in law or if the professor made it great during his coffee hours. All the reading was a challenge, but because of my career, it is one of the classes that enhanced what I already do for a living. Class is very reading and test heavy, but this professor is one of the good ones.
Very hard class, he's very strict and doesn't give second chances on assignments, it sucks because he is the only choice at UNLV. I nearly dropped out of college because of him and his class. He makes the class unnecessarily hard
Many of you may be discouraged by other student reviews from taking this professor's course. However, I want to speak on behalf of my entire lecture class and emphasize that this professor is likely one of the few who will genuinely prepare you for the real world. As a retired attorney and active member of the bar, he brings valuable skillsets
The professor is very strict with assignments, gives difficult exams, and covers too much material. Many students struggle and have to retake the course. He is not supportive or motivating, and there is little help available for complaints. Unfortunately, he is the only option for Business Law.
This professor does not support students' achievements and would set them up for failure and repeating this expensive class.
This class was basically a taste of if you want to go to law school. I think that the lectures can be overwhelming because there is SO much information that you have to learn and study over such a short amount of time. Lots of assignments that can catch you if you mess up on a quiz. Honestly not too bad if you just study your butt off.
Professor Perez puts your brain to work! With AI it is easy to work your way around and learn nothing, but not with this class. It truly makes you work and learn something new. Study hard and put in the work. He is a great professor.
Professor Perez was a great professor for this class! There is a lot of content to remember, but as long as you read through the textbook once, you WILL pass. He makes lectures relevant so that it is easier to understand the concept, and he does coffee chats to help prepare for his exams. Attend them! They help!
Going into this class I was super nervous of all the ratings I have heard but honestly, his professor does cares if you pass, all you need to do is truly do the work. You cannot cheat. As long as you pay attention and study, you'll pass. It was truly hard but worth it and you learn so much! Super sweet professor. Def go to his office hours.
Prof Perez structured this class to the best of his abilities to make you succeed. It's up to you to do your part and get the grade you want to get. Yes, this class has A LOT of material, but if you study with time (have good group partners)you'll get a passing grade. Don't try to use AI to cheat in this course, he's not dumb and will sniff you out
Actually learned in this class because you have to read the book. Read the book and you will do great.
Watch the lectures, take notes, and take the practice quizzes, and exams will be a breeze. Papers are easy if you understand the content, and he wants to see you apply the concepts you've learned practically in the written assignments. If you stay committed, you'll pass easily! Without discipline, you'll fail. I did 3 times before I passed lol
Took this during Summer 2. Watch and read his lectures, focus on fact patterns, do the weekly discussions, and don't skip coffee hour, it really helps. It's not an easy class but if you keep up with the lectures and don't do anything last minute you'll pass.
Wonderful professor. Lectures are incredibly helpful and he gives so many real life examples so that you remember the important topics. Extra credit was available and he had a weekly coffee hour to review. I wish I had taken this class during a regular semester instead of a summer class because then I could have enjoyed his teachings for longer.
Must read the textbook and understand the concepts. Never attended coffee hour but the lectures are great for reinforcing the material. Summer session is much more concise/straightforward compared to the spring version of the class. Spring version seemed to have many more filler assignments, which might be useful if you aren't confident in passing.
This is one of the most interactive professors at UNLV. He's very funny and personable in his lectures. Attendance is not mandatory but it's better to go as he goes over certain topics that will/won't be on exams. This course is extremely textbook/note heavy, you MUST STUDY to pass exams. Attend his coffee hours they are so helpful!!!!
The way this professor treats students is unacceptable. He is super negative and demeaning. It seems as though he has nothing better to do with his time then stay on top of students. It is like he wants you to fail. He has unrealistic expectations for students, and is not understanding of things going on outside of school.
Why is it so difficult to provide your class with accurate and condensed study material? We have lives too and show up to class to learn what we need to pass the tests. Only about 40% of the test material you will learn in class and the other 60% you are expected to basically teach yourself. The class room also has like 200 squeaky cramped seats.
Way too much pressure on Exams, and not a clear study guide. Don't miss a lecture or a single word in the textbook. Group Project as well as 4 exams. Have fun
Not sure why the ratings are so low. Frank is an amazing professor! He made me want to continue law. If you don't like to actually learn and do the work then this is not the class for you. I would recommend to go to every class if you can because he uses examples that will be on the exams. Don't be scared to take him, just be ready to do the work.
This professor is extremely strict when it comes to grading papers. He takes punctuation and formatting extremely seriously and will take away nearly all the points if something isn't formatted correctly. This is a very difficult course and im very glad i dont have to take it again.
Look, this class can be challenging but it's not impossible to pass. Go over the slides, lectures in detail as they form a huge basis for your exams. Go to office hours and coffee sessions, they help A LOT! Make sure your group members each put in the work for their assignments. Relax everyone, put in the effort and you will do great, guaranteed.
Hardest class I have taken at UNLV. Exams are HARD with no study guide to go over, so study as much as you possibly can. There's so much content crammed in this course, it's ridiculous! We ended up not finishing the lectures, but still had to take exams on the content...
Professor Perez is genuinely one of the best professors I've had at UNLV, and this class was very insightful. If you simply come to class, you will be fine, seriously. He offers students in-depth outlines for exams, and Zoom reviews. In my opinion, take the negative reviews with a grain of salt, with simple effort you will pass BLW 302, trust me.
Professor Perez does not set you up for success at all, he doesn't even talk about half of the things that are on the tests. Would rather confuse his students than give resources to help them learn efficiently. You will pass this class if you don't have a job, social life, or another difficult class.
Overall great class, Perez is strict but his lecture videos aren't too brutal and it was interesting. Group project in this course (which makes no sense for an online class) but if you have a halfway decent group and keep up to date with the assignments, you'll do fine. Wouldn't take again if I had a choice, recommend passing on the first time
Professor Perez was overall a great professor. The class is definitely challenging, but attend lectures + coffee hour, do the work, and put in effort, you'll be okay. I recommend quizlet when studying for his exams, they help way more than just his slides. make sure your group members do their part for the group project. Find a study group too.
Professor Perez you NEED to make your study material and tests more straight forward, stop trying to confuse your class but tell them what they need to know to succeed. We wouldn't need to waste time on any coffee hours if you just made practice tests like you make the actual tests. Making the right answers straight forward= grasping the concepts
