Hardest prof ever. Didn't realize the course was a business math course until two days till final. 100 people started, 13 took final, 3 passed, 2 had D's. Find another prof if you can.

The majority drop out before the final & over half of the people that do take the final end up failing. If you have a choice DO NOT take Uhlig

This is the hardest professor that I have ever had, but also the smartest. He has a very interesting way of presenting math. Just stick with him and study.

Do not try to ask a queation. He will make fun of you until you drop the class. He makes 92,000 a year of us tax payers, we need to fire his ass now. horrible teacher and an even worse grader. If you get him, drop and find a new teacher.

Class started out with about 150 students and after midterms fell to about 75. He is a total **** and you will not learn anything in his class. Good luck trying to ask him a question or even get help from him. If you get him, drop the class.

Wow... this guy is unbelievably bad. I consider myself a pretty good math student (36 on math in ACT) and I still am struggling for a C in this class. He thinks he's funny, clever, helpful etc. Here's a hint: he's wrong! Don't disregard the comments.

He is horrible. You can barely understand his writing and his voice. He is mean and does not follow the Tiger Club. I missed a test b/c I was sick w/ the flu and he said that it counted as a zero even though I had a Dr.'s excuse. Drop his class!

his class was ok as long as you go everyday. he was a little hard to understand but you get use to it after a while. he gives homework every week but the test questions are much harder than the homework. over all the class is ok.

He is a grade "A" jerk. If you can't drop, go see the TA's as often as possible. I barely made a C with his multiple scaling methods, but I know people who made A's. But, if you are anything less that an excellent student, drop. Worst prof @

Until this class, I had never failed a test...his tests brought tears to my eyes! He is an inconsiderate, smart mouthed, jerk who thinks he is humerous. It is his intent for you to fail the class. It gives him great joy to see your misery. Get Out FAST!

He is an absolute jerk. He is so rude to everyone, even the students who try really hard. His tests are impossible and everyone fails...I think he takes pride in having a class test average of 40%...and no signs of a curve yet!

Dr. Uhlig is a teacher that will embarass students, ridicule their questions, and give tests that are nothing like the homework or notes. Do whatever you can to stay out of this class!!

Has to be the single most hated and worst teacher on campus. You must not take his class, he loves to see you upset and not understanding him. He often refers to himself as a genius and most of the time he cannot work an entire problem without messing up.

Uhlig loves math. He makes himself very available to stop in his office outside of class and is very helpful. He makes a lot of goofy analogies and has a sarcastic sense of humor - but he's cool to the students who really want to learn the stuff.

This guy is the worst. He forced us to buy his book for the class (nice $ for him), then proceded to fail most of the class. I think 30+ people started in the class and about 10 finished and passed. I STRONGLY reccomend you finding another professor. He could care less whether you learn anything or understand EGOMANIAC!!

This guy SUCKS! He words his test to where you have no idea what he is asking for. If you do know what it is asking, the information given is unlike anything you've worked and you won't know where to start. (HE HATES AMERICANS),he embarrasses you in front of class, he wrote the book and it might as well be in Japanese(literally).

Wow, this teacher is very demanding of you both inside and outside of class. To make a good grade you must come to class every day (even though attendance is not mandatory) and do all the homework. Tests are very hard, but doable if you work hard. Very enthusiastic about math and extremely smart. He was very helpful in my class.

Horrible teacher. Not helpful if you ask him a question during office hours and even worse when you ask a question in class. Scribbles on the board. Very hard to understand his writing. Jumbles of thoughts on the blackboard.

Very confusing. Uses TERRIBLE analogies to describe the material. Very confusing. Took MIT practice tests (found them online) and found these harder. Tried his hardest to raise our grades (Re-tests/take homes). NOT recommended.

The man does expect a lot of his students, that is certain... first class I've ever HAD to have my book along with me. Tests are difficult, and that only if you have studied hard - tests are IMPOSSIBLE if you haven't. He certainly loves the material, probably more than the students - still, I like him. You CANNOT pass without knowing this stuff.

Dr. Uhlig explains the material well (albeit sometimes with goofy metaphors), but his tests are insane. He tries to throw you a bone by providing a lot of opportunities for bonus points and he drops your lowest test grade. He is also very accessible. However, I worked harder for this class than I ever have before and only pulled out a C.Most failed

Hard to understand, but be sure to attend class (very important) and write down everything he writes. Then go home and use your book to make sense of everything. The homework and answer key should help you know if you understand the material or not. If you don't get it, find a tutor. I'm no mental giant and scored a high A.

HARD !!! GET OUT !!!! Tests ARE Difficult and nothing like the problems you work out in class or for homework. I took AP Cal and could have opted out of Cal 1 and I struggled a lot with this class. He is not willing to help or give you extra problems outside of class.

Awful professor. Sure, he's entertaining to laugh at, but you'll never want to go to class. You can pass... But only by means of your own. Learn to stick with your classmates, you'll need it come the final when he leaves the room...

This class was filled with theory and proofs that are just flat hard to understand. Dr. Uhlig didn't help us understand very well either. This class was very frustrating and I strongly recommend you get another teacher who can explain effectively. If you enjoy reading math theory and being surprised on tests then this class is for you.

Any other professor would be easier, but we learned a lot in his class. His tests are really hard, but he knows his stuff. The book is hard to understand but makes more sense after his lectures. We all thought we were going to do poorly, but then he gave extra-credit homework as a kind of scaling near the end of the semester.

Every other review is entirely accurate. When Uhlig is coherent and not rambling, he is usually insulting his students' intelligence. Other times he starts to mutter and makes weird jokes. Basically, the textbook is the professor, don't expect to learn anything from him.

Really awful teacher. Everyone else hit the nail on the head. Insults students, goes off on strange tangents, actually rewarded a student with a peeling bit of drywall. AWFUL teacher! Everything listed in the comments is true!! I took Calc. I (& II unawares) out of Troy University my senior year in high school and still made a 98. I took this class and was failing! The man is impossible! He asks confusing ?'s on tests & makes fun of students openly. After I dropped he brought my tests to class & openly mocked me.

The other reviews are completely right. This man has no idea what he is doing and makes stupid unrelated analogies. Any other teacher would be better than him. He always pulls out really hard questions on his tests that he doesn't prepare us for.

I never made higher than 75 on any test and came out with a B. Honors classes are supposed to be more challenging, but this class was beyond that. Tests were very hard to prepare for because questions were always much harder than homework and class problems. That being said, Dr. Uhlig wants everyone to succeed is very helpful if you approach him.

I ignored this rating before taking the class and that was a big mistake. He does not help at all and insults his students. Plus, his grading is completely unfair - I may be counted off 10 points but the kid next to me is only counted off one for the exact same mistake. He WANTS his class to get C's. He says it "challenges you". Steer clear.

My favorite professor I had at Auburn. He's a little quirky but he's straight up brilliant. He tests on knowing why rather than just copying a process repeatedly. If you go to class, participate, and make yourself known to him, he's more than willing to help.
